2. READ A STORY AS A CLASS
As you read a story as a class have a
discussion group periodically to discuss the
characters in the book.
What are their roles?
Describe their appearance?
What might they do next?
3. ACTIVITY 1
Start a paper as the teacher and write one
positive character trait of one of the
characters. Examples include funny, good at
art etc. Have a student add their character
and trait and have them pass it to the next
student etc.. When complete read the list to
the class. Ask for their input and thoughts?
4. ACTIVITY 2
Character Charades
Bring different props relating to the story in
the classroom. Put slips of paper in a basket
with the different character in the book on
them. Have a student pick out of the basket
and act out that character. See if the
students can guess that character.
5. ACTIVITY 3
Create a play
Have the students create a small skit relating
to the book. This will also teach language
and fun acting skills.
Invite another classroom in to watch the
play. Video the play and have the invited
class ask questions or give comments.
6. ACIVITY 4
Have a divided paper for each student.
Have them choose a character.
On one side have them give a visual
description.
On the other side have them give a character
trait description.
7. ACTIVITY 5
Written Paper
Have the students pick a friend or relative.
Have them write a story about the friend or
relative giving a complete description and
what they like best about that person and
why?
