This document proposes a new mathematical function called the Echo Function. The Echo Function is derived from the hyperbolic tangent function and its inverse. When the Echo Function is applied repeatedly to a real number x, it will oscillate or "echo" between returning x and another value y. Specifically:
1) If the Echo Function is applied an even number of times to x, it will return x.
2) If applied an odd number of times, it will return y, where y is defined as (1/2) ln (-tanh(x)).
3) Graphs are provided showing that the Echo Function behaves as both a function and its own inverse function. It periodically echoes between two values for any
