The Spanish Armada Of King Philip II
In 1588, King Philip II of Spain sent a fleet of one hundred and thirty ships to her majesty Elizabeth I
s England to ultimately eradicate Protestantism. His country, Spain, was fully Catholic, so being
Protestant would have been considered an act of high treason. Already provoked by England s their
religious intent, he was pushed over the edge when they started pirating ships from the Spanish
Netherlands (currently the Netherlands, formerly ruled by Spain) for goods. He sent over a mighty
fleet commanded by Admiral Marquis of Santa Cruz and the Duke of Medina Sidonia to regain
control of the North Sea and exterminate Protestantism. Despite being vastly outnumbered, due to
ingenuity, skill, and luck, the English forces were able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Galleons were the Spanish superpowers having three masts and heavy artillery onboard. Galleys were
a bit smaller but mainly used to ram other ships with their pointy beaks. They were the fastest ships
the Spanish navy owned. During this building of the Armada, Lastly, there were the merchant vessels.
These were like the militia in the Revolutionary War; weak and small, but highly necessary. While this
armada was being built, Philip II decided to have his infantry set base in Flanders, Belgium. This army
consisted of about thirty two thousand men commanded by the Duke of Parma, matchless in skill.
Their mission was to wait until the Armada got close to London and then help lay siege by joining
forces with the Armada. The English, on the other hand, were superior at more a more modern naval
warfare style utilizing guns and artillery contrary to boarding enemy ships. Thankfully for the British,
their coastal beacons informed them about the Armada soon after Spain decided to construct their own
fleet. The English fleet consisted of only thirty four race built warships and one hundred sixty three
merchant vessels. These warships were much faster than any ships the Spanish had, but also highly
vulnerable to cannonfire. The English sailors were greatly more skillful than the Spaniards, though, so
they were able to rely on ability rather than size. Charles Howard, Second Baron Howard of
Effingham was nominated to command these English Forces. He was

Daisy In Teenage Wasteland
The story, Teenage Wasteland by Anne Tyler, has limited characters and focuses on less. While
reading Teenage Wasteland the character Daisy played a secondary character role. This character was
portrayed as a protagonist by experiencing her own inner and external conflicts. Daisy who is the role
of Danny s mother can be seen as a dynamic throughout the story. Anne Tyler does a excellent way of
making the readers view Daisy s static thoughts and actions in direct and indirect manner.
Daisy s character is directly encouraging and patient. On page 35 it reads, Daisy checked Donny s
assignments everyday. She sat next to him as he worked, trying to be encouraging . This directly tells
the readers how hard Daisy works to show effort into her son s grades. ... Show more content on

They acted like wardens. On weekends they enforced a curfew. And any time he went to a party, they
always telephoned to see who would be supervising . These lines show how Daisy is a protective
parent who cares about her young son. Daisy is portrayed as a mother figure who has limited trust and
is worried about her son s future. Daisy is also indirectly shown to be open to change. Later onto the
story, it shows how Daisy no longer calls parents before a party and trusts Danny to stay out later on
the weekends. Open minded and precautionary can be used to describe Donny s mother.
Throughout the events leading up to Donny s runaway, it doesn t directly or indirectly show that Daisy
has a foil. Donny does however give Daisy a hard time when she has to pay for his wasteful tutor and
trying to understand him. Daisy is heartbroken in the end trying to determine the events leading up to
Donny s leaving. The author went into Daisy s mind and grab her emotions of hopelessness and
confusion when seeing Donny s basketball. Daisy has a story line in these short days from actions to

The Ancient Aztecs Complex and Advanced Civilization. The Aztecs were a civilization that emerged
in Mesoamerica around the start of the thirteenth century and existed until 1521 CE. The Aztecs had
their own system of government, a very complex religion, and sports and games were very important
to the civilization. The Aztecs were a civilization that was complex as well as very advanced in many
different areas of their civilization such as their government, religion, and sports. An area of the
Aztecs civilization that was very complex and advanced was their government. The Aztec government
was similar to a monarchy where an Emperor or King was the primary ruler showing that their
government was very advanced as it was similar to a form of government that is still used today (
Aztec Empire for Kids: Government and Empire ). The empire was made up of city states known as
altepetl with a large city in the center of each one that ruled the area where the majority of Aztec
nobles and other government leaders lived as city leaders led the empires which is similar to some
civilizations that were not as old as the Aztecs, showing agian how advance their government was(

ABSTRACT
This paper examines current marketing trends in the alcoholic beverages industry that can impact the
public s health and safety. It is important for public health organizations to be aware of trends common
to the industry; this will inform and bolster their efforts as watchdogs to manufacturers and retailers of
alcohol. The analysis describes the critical elements of the marketing mix, and makes a clear
distinction between advertising and marketing. Advertising is an important part of the marketing mix;
however, there are several other tactics and tools employed by marketers in the industry to influence
consumer behaviour and to build strong brands. The paper reviews current trends in the alcoholic
beverages industry generally, drawing specifically on some examples from the global beer industry. In
the fight to increase market share, marketers will alter their marketing strategies in response to
industry trends, seeking synergies that may exist between sponsorship and promotion. The paper

European Attitudes Toward Native Americans
Native Americans were seen as savage societies when it was newly discovery by the Europeans.
European societies labeled people who were not only different in language, but also those who lived
by the laws of nature, or without any laws, learning, religion or morals as savage. Not only did Europe
s discovery of the America s opened a new source of prosperity to the commercial part of Europe, but
the fall of the native when introduced to the violence and sickness brought over from the Old World.
One attitude towards the Native American that quickly emerged was that the natives were fully
human. They were perceived as beings that could reap the benefits of European civilization which
included Christian doctrine and salvation. It was shown

The Mental Health Status Of Elderly Patients
During my clinical rotations I have had numerous oppurtunities to asses the mental health status of
elderly patients. The majority of the mental health assessements that I conducted were in accordance
with the Medicare annual wellness assessment. The Medicare annual wellness is apart of the Afforable
Care Act program aimed towards improving, preventing and managing the healthcare of patients.
According to Hains (2014),
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Affordable Care Act) includes many
provisions aimed at improving the health of Americans and preventing the onset of chronic conditions.
The Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) is a part of the Affordable Care Act specifically targeting older
adults (age 65 and older). In 2011, Medicare beneficiaries became eligible for an AWV, which
includes a health risk assessment (HRA) and a customized wellness or personal prevention plan. This
AWV supplements the welcome to Medicare preventive visit, which is a one time, comprehensive
health assessment offered to beneficiaries within the first 12 months of enrolling in Medicare.
Medicare pays for one first AWV per beneficiary and subsequent visits on an annual basis. The AWV
can be provided by a physician, nurse practitioner (NP), clinical nurse specialist, or physician assistant
and should include, at the very least, a history and physical, preventive screening, and personalized
health planning. The law specifies that HRA guidelines will identify chronic disease(s),

The Legality Of Same Sex Marriage
The Legality of Same Sex Marriage Two single women living together could offer numerous
interpretations. It is mostly uncommon and considered to be an issue for some people especially
during the 19th century. The assumption then was that relationships were platonic but in recent years,
different speculations started to came out (Lyness, Lipetz, and Davis 305). Different stories of intimate
companionships prevailed and were contemplated to be unnatural as to the appeal of marriage
between two women. Opposite presumptions however, argued that homosexual relationships should
be acknowledged as legitimate because it is part of human rights to recognize and establish
commitments, it stretches civil rights that concerns freedom and most especially, it is a step to gender
equality. Marriage is part of human rights and it is the way society recognizes commitments between
two people who share an intimate relationship with each other. It is a fundamental union and one s
right to marry the person he or she chooses to love. In recent years however, college has served a
place for young people to live together before marriage. Many expressed concern on the threat of
courtship and long term relationships that involved homosexual partnerships (Risman, Hill, Rubin,
and Peplau 77). However some evidences confirmed comparisons on cohabilitations and
commitments between homosexual couples to be naturally similar to heterosexual relationships. A
number of aspects were discussed such as

Need: All of us always look eagerly for something that is much better, especially a kind of life that
free from burdens, deceases, struggles and hardships. Can we look forward to that kind of life or is it
just a fantasy? As we study eschatology, God s children can really look for this better life much better,
compared to any kind of world s betterment. But, when are we going to attain that kind of life? Yes,
God is going to create the new heaven and the new earth everything new. How the new heaven and the

continually there? Why dwell we not there in constant contemplation? . . . Bend thy soul to study
eternity; busy it about the life to come; habituate thyself to such contemplations, and let not these
thoughts be seldom or cursory, but settle upon them; bathe thy soul in heavenly delights. Therefore, as
God s children we have to learn to do them here Psa.27:4.
3. A holy resource (vv5 7)
 I make all things new all that benefits the righteous. Only Jesus Christ is able to make everything
new. New wine, new heart, new spirit, new man, new heaven and new earth. All these were created as
new for man s benefits. The creation was made good and new for men to have eternal fellowship with
God.
 In the NT Jesus invited everyone to come to Him for rest, to quench their thirst, for safety and for
all. He is the abundant resources and in Him there is no lacking of anything.

The Schematics of a Film Disk
The characteristics of the disc surface affect the flow patterns generated on the film as well as the
residence time of the reactants film. The effect of disc texture on particle characteristics is depicted in
Figure 7 and Figure 8. It can be seen that using the grooved disc surface results in smaller particle size
and narrower particle size distribution as compared to smooth disc surface. A narrow particle size
distribution for the production of silver nanoparticles was achieved by Iyer et al.[43] using the
grooved disc. The authors postulated that that the corrugated nature of the grooved disc promoted
shear induced micromixing of the thin film on the disc at higher rotational speed. The efficient
micromixing ensured that all the particles were exposed to the similar conditions to maintain a narrow
size distribution [43]. Similar enhancement effects of grooved surfaces have been reported for styrene
polymerisation in the SDR [9]. It has also been suggested in the literature that surface textures have
the potential to suppress liquid channelling or rivulet flow compared to a smooth surface under
identical conditions of liquid flowrate and liquid properties so that a higher wetted area is achieved
[44]. Rivulet flow as opposed to film flow would result in larger average film thicknesses which may
lead to detrimental performance, especially under strictly laminar flow conditions (i.e. where any
surface wave induced turbulence is absent). Thus, the intensifying effects of the

Comparison Of Greed In Elle Woods s Legally Blonde
Despite physical beauty, greed can create an ugly personality that affects relationships with others.
Elle Woods, worked her way up from nothing more than living as a pretty girl to get into Harvard, in
the movie Legally Blonde. While Glinda, of Wicked, used her high social status to remain in power by
tromping down others. Glinda the Good is known as the epitome of goodness but she stepped on other
to work her way up. Elle Woods however, was ambitious and worked hard to better herself and built
her way up to prevail as powerful. Both of these women may seem nothing more than beautiful, but
they arose above what people thought they could become to ensue as powerful, although in extremely
different ways. Glinda s greed left her well liked, but also isolated, depressed and alone, while Elle
Woods s ambition gave her a happier future and more successful life.
At the beginning of Legally Blonde, Elle Woods loses the man she loves to a different girl, which
makes her very upset. Vivian, the girl Elle s ex ended up going out with after Elle and her boyfriend
broke up, was extremely mean to Elle, but she didn t let it get the best of her. When asked how her
first day continued after meeting Vivian, Elle describes it as, good, except for this horrible preppy
girl..who made me look bad in front of the professor. But no biggie (SergeiK). Despite being bullied
by Vivian for the remainder of the movie, Elle chooses to put their differences aside in the end and try

How Testing Is Used For Object Oriented Environment
Executive Summary The motivation behind this report is to examine about how testing is done in
object oriented environment. Object oriented programs have an alternate behavior and structure when
contrasted with programs created utilizing technical language. It takes after an information driven
methodology and it is depends on ladder of objects and classes. Classes are only a gathering of objects
that inform properties and connections and objects are elements that stores information send and get
messages. Re usability can be picked up in object oriented programming by making utilization of
features which is polymorphism, inheritance, encapsulation and abstraction. Issues like maintenance
and reuse are explained utilizing OO approach. Although the development is done by people, testing
needs to be carried out to uncover mistakes. As classes team up with one another, OO framework
needs to be tested at various levels. Testing starts by investigating the OOA and OOD models. The
correctness and consistency of the models are analyzed utilizing formal technical reviews and they are
examined in this report. Different types of diagrams, for example, control flow graph, state transition
diagram and class diagram are utilized by the test models. Different testing techniques, for example,
fault based testing, scenario based testing and state based testing strategies are explained in detail.
Testing techniques, for example, class test which is performed once the code is composed,

The Importance Of Deaf Culture
It is quite a task to identify oneself within a culture due to the unique social, behavioral, and physical
traits each culture represents themselves with. As I began learning about the hallmarks of Deaf culture
such as language, heritage art and history , I began wondering about how the historical significance of
each one impacted the modern choices of Deaf individuals (Holcomb 17). Our textbook Introduction
to American Deaf Culture makes references to how important American Sign Language is to define
the Deaf community which leaves me wondering how strong the foundation of Deaf culture would be
if based on heritage rather than on language. Being Jewish I never learned Hebrew but knew all the

Language never played in a role in how people viewed me as a Jewish youth nor did people believe I
was not culturally experienced because I could not hold a conversation in a certain language. The
Jewish people went through oppression both in the stories I grew up learning as well as historical
events like the Holocaust which emotionally changed the lives of the Jewish population to this day
and for years to come. The point of my experience as a Jewish individual is to lay the idea of how I
grew up feeling appreciated by my population without a language and how the community I grew up
with experienced oppression much as the Deaf community faced and show how the events we endured
made our culture stronger in the long run. I believe that much like the Jewish people, Deaf people
show the same pride in their community because of the oppression they faced and how the pride they
feel is attributed more to their history than to language.
When thinking about the historical impact against the Deaf community, the primary instance that
arises in my head is the oralist movement which was supported by hearing people like Alexander
Graham Bell. Many people opposed the idea of Deaf Culture and wanted to move Deaf children away
from traditional ASL by teaching lip reading and speech to children instead of allowing them to use
ASL in schools. While many could argue that this example proves

Chesapeake Life History
Between 1813 and 1962, steamboats ruled the Chesapeake Bay, reflected in a fascinating and
important era, in which trade and travel were made more convenient with steamers that linked parts of
Maryland and Virginia, with distant and isolated rural communities along the Eastern Shore, in
particular, including Piankatank River and Occohannock Creek in Virginia, Hudson Creek off the

There were various types of steamboats on the Chesapeake Bay, all serving a specific function. The
packet steamboats were the most common, were medium sized and fast, and transported passengers,
freight and domestic mail. The rural areas and the city were made accessible with a large fleet of
smaller vessels steam ferries, while excursion steamers or showboats were more elaborate, colorful

Primary Heating Water Circuit At The Generators
Primary Cooling Water Circuit In The Generators :
The treated water used for cooling of the stator winding, phase connectors and bushings is designated
as primary water in order to distinguish it from the secondary coolant (raw water, condensator etc.).
The primary water is circulated in a closed circuit and dissipates the absorbed heat to the secondary
cooling in the primary water cooler. The pump is supplied with in primary water cooler. The pump is
supplied with in the primary water tank and delivers the water to the generator via the following flow
paths:
Flow path I :
Flow path I cools the stator winding. This flow path passes through water manifold on the exciter end
of the generator and from there to the stator bars via insulated bar is connected to the manifold by a
separate hose. Inside the bars the cooling water flows through hollow strands. At the turbine end, the
water is passed through the similar hoses to another water manifold and then return to the primary
water tank. Since a single pass water flow through the stator is used, only a minimum temperature rise
is obtained for both the coolant and the bars. Relatively movements due to the different thermal
expansions between the top and the bottom bars are thus minimized.

Oligopoly In Canada
The cinema industry in Canada is an oligopoly with only a few firms producing most or all of the
output. In an oligopoly, it is important for companies to closely watch the competition for new
technologies, pricing, production, product changes and innovations, and other developments
(Althouse, Allan, Hartt, 2017, p. 38). Two companies in the Canadian industry combine to have 99%
of the market share, with Cineplex having 78% and Landmark Entertainment having 21% (Dule, n.d.).
Cineplex has 162 operating movie theatres in Canada compared to the 71 theatres of their direct
competitor Landmark Entertainment (Dule, n.d.). Cineplex s strength in the market limits the number
of companies within the industry, and therefore entry can be difficult with the already established

Fungi, Protista, and Bacteria. The five Kingdoms were generally grouped into two categories called
Eukarya and Prokarya. Eukaryotes represent four of the five Kingdoms (animals, plants, fungi, and
protists). Eukaryotes are organisms whose cells have a nucleus a sort of sack that holds the cell s
DNA. Animals, plants, protists and fungi are all eukaryotes because they all have a DNA holding
nuclear membrane within their cells. The cells of prokaryotes, on the other hand, lack this nuclear
membrane. Instead, the DNA is part of a protein nucleic acid structure called the nucleoids. However,
new insight into molecular biology changed this view of life. A type of prokaryotic organism that had
long been categorized as bacteria turned out to have DNA that is very different from bacterial DNA.
This difference led microbiologist to propose reorganizing the Tree of Life into three separate
Domains: Eukarya, Eubacteria (true bacteria), and

5. Prepare the salt solution by mixing 1/8 teaspoon of salt and three cups of water in a clean pitcher or
2 liter bottle. Stir or shake the solution until it is dissolved. This will produce a 1% salt solution. 6.
Pour the salt solution into a clean tall glass so that the liquid level is 1/4 inch (0.5 cm). 7. Tape the
strip to a pencil and rest the pencil on top of the jar so that the strip hangs into the jar. The goal is to
have the end of the chromatography strip just touching the surface of the solvent solution, with the
colored dots above the surface of the liquid. Make sure that the colored spots do not come in direct
contact with the liquid in the bottom of the glass.
1. Capillary action will draw the salt solution up the paper. As it passes through the dots, it will begin
to separate the dyes. When the salt water is 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) from the top edge of the paper, remove it
from the glass and place it on a clean, flat surface to dry. 2. Repeat steps two through nine (using the
second strip of paper and a clean glass) to test the same four colors using the alcohol instead of the
saltwater solution at the bottom of the glass.
Data:
Salt Water | Isopropyl alcohol | Went very far | went not very far |
Conclusion:
The salt water went further than the Isopropyl. When I placed the paper with the ink in the salt water,
it went up to the end of the paper. However with the

Strength And Weaknesses Of Unitary Government In The...
The United States of America declared freedom from Great Britain in 1776. There were thirteen
colonies that decided to arrange a necessary government. After battling the difficulties of living under
a monarchy, the Founding Fathers have set up a Federation with ideas of foreign governments: unitary
and confederal. The American Federalism government, Unitary, and Confederal government have
strength and weaknesses in running countries. Countries such as Switzerland and Cuba use a Unitarian
government system (Unitary State Countries, 2015 2018). A Unitary government is very small
centralized and controls the legal and moral legislation for both the state and the country
(Apecsecadmin 2015). The most damaging result of this system is the lack of clear communication
between the government and citizens. This type of government cannot identify or respond quickly to a
direct issue within a local city or state. The advantages, however on the other hand do allow for
prompt judgments for the entire country, this includes passing laws and design a budget. ... Show more

The Confederal system was made up the first thirteen colonies that saw themselves as their own
countries. The states had the ability to create treaties with each other. The Articles of Confederal were
able to win the war against Britain and declare national freedom. The advantage and disadvantage of a
confederal system is to avert a strong central government. The lack of a strong government causes a
loose relationship between the states, thus the inability to enforce tax collections or laws. A weak
government on the other hand, cannot abuse the powers causing a tyranny ruling of the individual
states (Kelly 2017). The vision of the confederal system was to keep the power at home and allow
states to share directly with the citizens. This form of government is considered the transformation
period (Greengarbage

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Brake
DEFINITION:
A device for slowing or stopping a vehicle or other moving mechanism by the absorption or transfer of
the energy of momentum, usually by means of friction. It basically has a slowing or stopping effect.
EXPLANATION: They are used to convert the kinetic energy of the motion into heat energy by means
of friction and stopping the vehicle, other forms of energy can be derived from this effect with slight
alterations. For example we have regenerative braking system which is specifically used to convert
kinetic energy into electrical energy and store it and use when required. Brakes are generally applied
on the axle of the shaft or wheels to have most of the grip, where maximum power is generated.
Combinations of brakes are used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
 It causes the direction of motion of the brake shoes to be close to horizontal, rather than the usual
slanted arc centered on the pivot boss. This is a major advantage for those who use very flat tires on
narrow rims, because it prevents the shoe from rising up and damaging the sidewall of the tire on
release, and also prevents having the brake shoes dive under the rim as they wear down.
 Disc brakes:
DEFINITION:
The disc brake has a metal disc (rotor) and a pair of flat brake pads instead of a drum and curved brake
shoes. The two flat pads are on the two sides of the disc. The assembly in which the flat pads are held
is the caliper assembly. In operation, the pads are forced against the two sides of the disc by the
movement of the pistons in the caliper assembly. The pistons are actuated by hydraulic pressure from
the master cylinder. The effect is to clamp the rotating disc between the stationary pads.  Advantages
of using disc braking system:
 They are strong.
 They are little affected by wet conditions.
 They don t get clogged with mud and snow.
 They aren t affected by rim damage or

Categorization Between Racial Selection And Natural Selection
The racial categories, while seemingly culturally meaningful, are biologically arbitrary. Racial statutes
cannot be mapped accurately in the human genome, or as a set of traits. Traits generally ascribed to a
certain race rarely only occur within that race. Natural selection and evolution are mechanisms that
distribute variation in ways that are not concordant with racial categorization. In order to understand
the variation within the human race, one must understand how advantageous traits are passed on
through generations, and that these traits are advantageous for a specific environmental situation.
Some examples of these variations are dark skin, sickle cell disease, and nasal morphology. Dark skin,
which is usually the defining trait for racial categories, has a very clear evolutionary history, which is
not racially significant. Dark skin does not vary like a multiple choice selection; rather, skin color is
variable on a continuous scale. Continuous variation allows variation to be expressed on a gradient.
Skin color is a particularly adept example of how variation can be gradated. The Way skin color is
expressed as a physical trait is through a pigment in cells called melanin. Along with melanin
variability, the amount of hemoglobin, which shows up as the reddish tints in skin ... Show more

Due to the way natural selection and evolution take place, human variation occurs outside of the static
racial categories that has persisted throughout history. These categories are based on variable physical
traits that give no reliable information about the group as a whole. The idea that these categories are
biologically meaningful is not only false, but can be harmful as well. When racial paradigms are
applied in the real world, the results are sometimes harmful. Understanding that racial categories are
arbitrary in a biological sense is beneficial to society as a

The Soviet Union Essay
The Soviet Union
The Soviet Union sparked its first paths of development towards a communist economy through a five
year plan in 1938. The plan called for government controls and government regulation for their
workers. This planned also controlled prices and wages for the workers to control the standard of
living and to keep the needs of the common man minimal. The government wanted control of all
private industries so that they can push for a rapid industrial society. Benefits such as health care and
public housing were terminated to help the Soviet government with their plan. The Soviets wanted to
combine their work force with their investments in coal, steel and iron to boost their capital and help
them create a super nation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gorbachev was still trying for economic reforms. Small business enterprises began to branch out and
with new laws in place more businesses were in control of themselves without that much government
regulations. These businesses folded and inflation became a horrid realization for the soviets. The
soviet economic plan was failing and was not showing any signs of revival. It was not until the
breaking up of the Soviet Union in the early 90 s where the Soviet economy would show signs of
hope.
Compared to the theories of Marx, the Soviet Union did not begin their economic development in the
way, which Marx theorized. He believed that the economy needed to be collectively ran and owned
rather than in private hands. He also believed that education should be free for all children in public
schools and that benefits for workers should be in place. His overall ideas were that #8230; The
revolutionary overthrow of capitalism and the Bourgeoisie state by a mass up rising of the urban
working class, the Proletariat . (Nagle, J.pg.156) At times, the Soviet society had beliefs of Marxism
and economic reforms were beginning to align in a conceptual sense. During the destalinization period
the beliefs were beginning to give back to the working man and uses of new strategies to help overall
production arose and thus helped the economy. During the period of the five year plan the Soviet
Unions economic and political structure was almost totally different

My Visit to the Brooklyn Museum
During my visit to the Brooklyn Museum, I found it both intriguing and informative. The layout of the
exhibition was divided into about three to four sections. Each section of the museum represented a
movement of the 60 s. The themes represented were segregation of blacks and whites, how they tried
to gain equality and the changes they anticipated would happen in the future. The artwork throughout
the exhibit was displayed in a varying gradient of black and white to colors. The type of background
information provided in the exhibit were captions under each artwork specifying the artists name, the
year and time it was created and what message the artwork was trying to portray. I did find the
information that was provided to me helpful because it gave me an insight on to what the specific
artwork was about and the message it was trying to convey to the me, the viewer. One artwork I
observed in this exhibit was David Hammons (American, b. 1943). The Door (Admissions Office),
1969. In this photograph it shows a body pressed against a door trying to gain entry into an admissions
office. The main character is a young African American boy. The role the character plays is a student
trying to get admissions into a White school. During this time the U.S. Federal Government
implemented school desegregation throughout the nation in 1954. White communities did not like the
idea of this and tried blocking black students from attending these white schools. The photo brings out

Camp Manitowa Description
Have you ever been to a camp that did not even have a roof to cover people from the rain? The camp
had an unbelievably large amount of people, especially friends, it had two different cabins, five of the
boys and five for the girls. The camp had a sparkling blue pool and a vast lake that countless children
and families enjoyed swimming in. At nighttime there would be mysterious tag games in the dark.
After the games concluded the campers were given the freedom to talk and tell stories. The camp lasts
a total of at least 7 long days and tons of people would probably want to come back for a second visit.
The name of the camp is Camp Manitowa which is located in Benton, Illinois. Nevertheless, this
seems like an exciting camp to have an adventure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the food), and the people that were at the camp will frequently lay with you. All in all, Camp
Manitowa is a popular place to go to in Benton, Illinois and you will enjoy the things that are there
with other people and maybe even your friends if you are somehow lucky enough.
Fourth, the things at Camp Manitowa were at an extremely high level because of the people and the
pool/lake that were close by it. The extraordinary lake was exciting because it had interesting fish
inside of it such as bass, minnows, bluegill, and stripers. The glistening clean pool was fabulous
because people would play games such as Marco Polo, catch, and other unique games. The people
were always delightful when allied with because they always wanted to provide new/more friends. All

Essay On High School Accomplishments
The start of my high school career was an enormous accomplishment for me. Even if I had a lot of
different feelings overwhelming me. One of those feelings was fear, I was terrified to be in high
school. First off the school seemed like a whole new world, plus it was about 5x bigger than my
middle school, then all the other kids looked like grown adults and they were so much taller than I.
Also coming to high school meant more responsible. Which at the time I really wasn t ready to handle
that pressure. I had already had a stressful middle school from other things that were going on in my
life. So I didn t want to start it off like that again, so I tried my best to do everything different from my

On the school side of freshman year, it seemed easier than 8th grade in the first quarter, but the second
quarter hit me like a wrecking ball. I was drowning in school work to my neck and It seemed like
there was a new test in math class every day. As the year carried on I notice how me and my peers
wasn t taking our school work as important as we should have. I notice how I went from a great
student to a slacking one how I was just not doing homework or not trying to really learn. It didn t hit
me till it was coming close to the end of the third quarter and I was at a D+, when I seen that I knew I
wasn t putting my best foot forward and that I could have done better that quarter. Nonetheless I
pulled it together for those last three weeks, I had brought that grade back up, I finished the quarter
with a B+ instead of a D+. which was really a wake up call for me in my freshman year, it gave me a
new perspective and mindset for the rest of that

Capitalism Essay
Capitalism
Throughout my duration in college, business has been my major area of concentration. Capitalism is
the most central and consequential topic which has to do with business. The ideals of capitalism, over
time, have faced much scrutiny. Many great minds within the past two centuries have discredited
capitalism, for the virtues of socialism and the whole of society. It is my intent to put forth a moral
justification of the ideals behind capitalism. Ayn Rand said The moral justification of capitalism does
not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve the common good .
It is true that capitalism does, if that catch phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary ...

Assuming that consumers are most concerned with their own self interest, the demand for goods that
are the most useful or helpful for society will arise. Assuming, also, that producers are most concerned
with their own self interest, they will further their own cause by striving to produce those goods which
will be the most useful to society at the lowest possible cost. Many economists have debated that
capitalism is practical because it allows each individual to align their actions with their own thoughts,
instead of acting under the demands of bureaucrats. A multitude of minds attack each problem under
capitalism. The successful thinkers thrive because they are able to see the opportunities that the other
thinkers do not.
They think of new products and come up with more efficient production methods which are
innovative to their field. Everyone is able to begin a business, raise money, and market his own
product in a free market, and each individual thinker is free to use his own ideas, and his success or
failure is based on the merits of his own idea. The successful thinker brings improved and new
products at a lower cost which creates economic advance and opulence. In order to fully understand
capitalism, we must have some understanding of other politico economic systems. Socialism is a
theory of social organization that advocates the ownership and control of industry,

Fashion Promotion in 5 Years Essay
What is the role of fashion promotion within the fashion industry, and how will it develop over the
next 5 years?
Fashion promotion is the glue that holds together everything fashion related. It s all very well
having a great designer who can create stunning garments out of fabulous materials, but fashion
promotion is what advertises those garments, and sells them, and puts them out there for the world
to see. If there weren t photographers and buyers and journalists and stylists (who are all a part
fashion promotion) we wouldn t have ever seen a catwalk show, or brought a Fendi bag, or picked
up a copy of VOGUE. If it wasn t for fashion promotion we could all be walking down the street in

geometric shapes and patterns with shadows. His aim was to create the best possible lighting to

and were greatly influenced by sculpture. As we can see in figure 3 there is no movement; models
were poised, almost static. In a general sense, Huene s style was the quint essence of early Thirties

  • 2. The Spanish Armada Of King Philip II In 1588, King Philip II of Spain sent a fleet of one hundred and thirty ships to her majesty Elizabeth I s England to ultimately eradicate Protestantism. His country, Spain, was fully Catholic, so being Protestant would have been considered an act of high treason. Already provoked by England s their religious intent, he was pushed over the edge when they started pirating ships from the Spanish Netherlands (currently the Netherlands, formerly ruled by Spain) for goods. He sent over a mighty fleet commanded by Admiral Marquis of Santa Cruz and the Duke of Medina Sidonia to regain control of the North Sea and exterminate Protestantism. Despite being vastly outnumbered, due to ingenuity, skill, and luck, the English forces were able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These were like the militia in the Revolutionary War; weak and small, but highly necessary. While this armada was being built, Philip II decided to have his infantry set base in Flanders, Belgium. This army consisted of about thirty two thousand men commanded by the Duke of Parma, matchless in skill. Their mission was to wait until the Armada got close to London and then help lay siege by joining forces with the Armada. The English, on the other hand, were superior at more a more modern naval warfare style utilizing guns and artillery contrary to boarding enemy ships. Thankfully for the British, their coastal beacons informed them about the Armada soon after Spain decided to construct their own fleet. The English fleet consisted of only thirty four race built warships and one hundred sixty three merchant vessels. These warships were much faster than any ships the Spanish had, but also highly vulnerable to cannonfire. The English sailors were greatly more skillful than the Spaniards, though, so they were able to rely on ability rather than size. It is mostly uncommon and considered to be an issue for some people especially during the 19th century. The assumption then was that relationships were platonic but in recent years, different speculations started to came out (Lyness, Lipetz, and Davis 305). Different stories of intimate companionships prevailed and were contemplated to be unnatural as to the appeal of marriage between two women. Opposite presumptions however, argued that homosexual relationships should be acknowledged as legitimate because it is part of human rights to recognize and establish commitments, it stretches civil rights that concerns freedom and most especially, it is a step to gender equality. Marriage is part of human rights and it is the way society recognizes commitments between two people who share an intimate relationship with each other. It is a fundamental union and one s right to marry the person he or she chooses to love. In recent years however, college has served a place for young people to live together before marriage. Many expressed concern on the threat of courtship and long term relationships that involved homosexual partnerships (Risman, Hill, Rubin, and Peplau 77). • 12. The Schematics of a Film Disk The characteristics of the disc surface affect the flow patterns generated on the film as well as the residence time of the reactants film. The effect of disc texture on particle characteristics is depicted in Figure 7 and Figure 8. It can be seen that using the grooved disc surface results in smaller particle size and narrower particle size distribution as compared to smooth disc surface. A narrow particle size distribution for the production of silver nanoparticles was achieved by Iyer et al.[43] using the grooved disc. The authors postulated that that the corrugated nature of the grooved disc promoted shear induced micromixing of the thin film on the disc at higher rotational speed. The efficient micromixing ensured that all the particles were exposed to the similar conditions to maintain a narrow size distribution [43]. Similar enhancement effects of grooved surfaces have been reported for styrene polymerisation in the SDR [9]. It has also been suggested in the literature that surface textures have the potential to suppress liquid channelling or rivulet flow compared to a smooth surface under identical conditions of liquid flowrate and liquid properties so that a higher wetted area is achieved [44]. Rivulet flow as opposed to film flow would result in larger average film thicknesses which may lead to detrimental performance, especially under strictly laminar flow conditions (i.e. where any surface wave induced turbulence is absent). Thus, the intensifying effects of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Object oriented programs have an alternate behavior and structure when contrasted with programs created utilizing technical language. It takes after an information driven methodology and it is depends on ladder of objects and classes. Classes are only a gathering of objects that inform properties and connections and objects are elements that stores information send and get messages. Re usability can be picked up in object oriented programming by making utilization of features which is polymorphism, inheritance, encapsulation and abstraction. Issues like maintenance and reuse are explained utilizing OO approach. Although the development is done by people, testing needs to be carried out to uncover mistakes. As classes team up with one another, OO framework needs to be tested at various levels. Testing starts by investigating the OOA and OOD models. The correctness and consistency of the models are analyzed utilizing formal technical reviews and they are examined in this report. Different types of diagrams, for example, control flow graph, state transition diagram and class diagram are utilized by the test models. Different testing techniques, for example, fault based testing, scenario based testing and state based testing strategies are explained in detail. As I began learning about the hallmarks of Deaf culture such as language, heritage art and history , I began wondering about how the historical significance of each one impacted the modern choices of Deaf individuals (Holcomb 17). Language never played in a role in how people viewed me as a Jewish youth nor did people believe I was not culturally experienced because I could not hold a conversation in a certain language. The Jewish people went through oppression both in the stories I grew up learning as well as historical events like the Holocaust which emotionally changed the lives of the Jewish population to this day and for years to come. The point of my experience as a Jewish individual is to lay the idea of how I grew up feeling appreciated by my population without a language and how the community I grew up with experienced oppression much as the Deaf community faced and show how the events we endured made our culture stronger in the long run. I believe that much like the Jewish people, Deaf people show the same pride in their community because of the oppression they faced and how the pride they feel is attributed more to their history than to language. When thinking about the historical impact against the Deaf community, the primary instance that arises in my head is the oralist movement which was supported by hearing people like Alexander Graham Bell. Many people opposed the idea of Deaf Culture and wanted to move Deaf children away from traditional ASL by teaching lip reading and speech to children instead of allowing them to use ASL in schools. The Transformative Power of Sports in the American Civil Rights Movement Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, but so did Cassius Clay, Jackie Robinson, and Bill Russell. Long before King s famous I Had a Dream speech or Rosa Parks famous protest came something much simpler: Sports. Sports have always had the ability to open peoples eyes in a way that is more impactful than words or actions. The way that athletics can shape a person s mind, or open one s eyes to something beyond what one already believes, is incredible. They can get everyone to root for a common purpose, and for some, that was freedom. The integration of professional and collegiate athletics not only changed sports history, but helped shape American history. Cassius Marcellus Clay was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 17, 1942, during a time when Louisville was severely segregated; African Americans were often considered the servant class, and the highest goal that many parents could realistically set for their children was being a clergymen or public school teacher. Summary of what you learned from the chapter: Once they were only two kingdoms: Plants and Animals. In the late 1960s biologists recognized five kingdoms: Protisto (kingdom consisting mostly of unicellular organisms), Plantae, Fungi, Animalia, Monera (Prokaryotes). This system highlighted the two fundamentally different types of cells prokaryotic and eukaryotic and set the prokaryotes apart from all eukaryotes by placing them in their own kingdom. However, it appears that phylogenies based on genetic data found out that some prokaryotes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But as new forms of life were discovered and our knowledge of life on Earth grew, new categories, called Kingdoms were added. There eventually came to be five Kingdoms in all Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista, and Bacteria. The five Kingdoms were generally grouped into two categories called Eukarya and Prokarya. Eukaryotes represent four of the five Kingdoms (animals, plants, fungi, and protists). Eukaryotes are organisms whose cells have a nucleus a sort of sack that holds the cell s DNA. Animals, plants, protists and fungi are all eukaryotes because they all have a DNA holding nuclear membrane within their cells. The cells of prokaryotes, on the other hand, lack this nuclear membrane. Instead, the DNA is part of a protein nucleic acid structure called the nucleoids. However, new insight into molecular biology changed this view of life. A type of prokaryotic organism that had long been categorized as bacteria turned out to have DNA that is very different from bacterial DNA. This difference led microbiologist to propose reorganizing the Tree of Life into three separate Domains: Eukarya, Eubacteria (true bacteria), and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Paper chromatography is a useful technique because it is relatively quick and requires small quantities of material. Safety: Warnings: * Rubbing alcohol (or isopropyl alcohol) is flammable, so be sure to keep it away from high heat or heat sources. * Keep pigments and solutions away from your eyes, wash your hands carefully after coming in contact with any solutions or pigments, and clean up spills with soap and water immediately after they occur. * This lab can be a little messy, so be sure to work at a kitchen counter or in another area that can be easily wiped down if anything spills. ... Stir or shake the solution until it is dissolved. This will produce a 1% salt solution. 6. Pour the salt solution into a clean tall glass so that the liquid level is 1/4 inch (0.5 cm). 7. Tape the strip to a pencil and rest the pencil on top of the jar so that the strip hangs into the jar. The goal is to have the end of the chromatography strip just touching the surface of the solvent solution, with the colored dots above the surface of the liquid. Make sure that the colored spots do not come in direct contact with the liquid in the bottom of the glass. 1. Capillary action will draw the salt solution up the paper. As it passes through the dots, it will begin to separate the dyes. When the salt water is 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) from the top edge of the paper, remove it from the glass and place it on a clean, flat surface to dry. 2. Repeat steps two through nine (using the second strip of paper and a clean glass) to test the same four colors using the alcohol instead of the saltwater solution at the bottom of the glass. Data: Salt Water | Isopropyl alcohol | Went very far | went not very far | Conclusion: The salt water went further than the Isopropyl. • 25. Strength And Weaknesses Of Unitary Government In The... The United States of America declared freedom from Great Britain in 1776. There were thirteen colonies that decided to arrange a necessary government. After battling the difficulties of living under a monarchy, the Founding Fathers have set up a Federation with ideas of foreign governments: unitary and confederal. The American Federalism government, Unitary, and Confederal government have strength and weaknesses in running countries. Countries such as Switzerland and Cuba use a Unitarian government system (Unitary State Countries, 2015 2018). A Unitary government is very small centralized and controls the legal and moral legislation for both the state and the country (Apecsecadmin 2015). The most damaging result of this system is the lack of clear communication between the government and citizens. This type of government cannot identify or respond quickly to a direct issue within a local city or state. The advantages, however on the other hand do allow for prompt judgments for the entire country, this includes passing laws and design a budget. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Confederal system was made up the first thirteen colonies that saw themselves as their own countries. The states had the ability to create treaties with each other. The Articles of Confederal were able to win the war against Britain and declare national freedom. The advantage and disadvantage of a confederal system is to avert a strong central government. The lack of a strong government causes a loose relationship between the states, thus the inability to enforce tax collections or laws. A weak government on the other hand, cannot abuse the powers causing a tyranny ruling of the individual states (Kelly 2017). The vision of the confederal system was to keep the power at home and allow states to share directly with the citizens. This form of government is considered the transformation period (Greengarbage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Brake DEFINITION: A device for slowing or stopping a vehicle or other moving mechanism by the absorption or transfer of the energy of momentum, usually by means of friction. It basically has a slowing or stopping effect. EXPLANATION: They are used to convert the kinetic energy of the motion into heat energy by means of friction and stopping the vehicle, other forms of energy can be derived from this effect with slight alterations. For example we have regenerative braking system which is specifically used to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy and store it and use when required. Brakes are generally applied on the axle of the shaft or wheels to have most of the grip, where maximum power is generated. Combinations of brakes are used ... This is a major advantage for those who use very flat tires on narrow rims, because it prevents the shoe from rising up and damaging the sidewall of the tire on release, and also prevents having the brake shoes dive under the rim as they wear down.  Disc brakes: DEFINITION: The disc brake has a metal disc (rotor) and a pair of flat brake pads instead of a drum and curved brake shoes. The two flat pads are on the two sides of the disc. The assembly in which the flat pads are held is the caliper assembly. In operation, the pads are forced against the two sides of the disc by the movement of the pistons in the caliper assembly. The pistons are actuated by hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder. The effect is to clamp the rotating disc between the stationary pads.  Advantages of using disc braking system:  They are strong.  They are little affected by wet conditions.  They don t get clogged with mud and snow.  They aren t affected by rim damage or ... • 27. Categorization Between Racial Selection And Natural Selection The racial categories, while seemingly culturally meaningful, are biologically arbitrary. Racial statutes cannot be mapped accurately in the human genome, or as a set of traits. Traits generally ascribed to a certain race rarely only occur within that race. Natural selection and evolution are mechanisms that distribute variation in ways that are not concordant with racial categorization. In order to understand the variation within the human race, one must understand how advantageous traits are passed on through generations, and that these traits are advantageous for a specific environmental situation. Some examples of these variations are dark skin, sickle cell disease, and nasal morphology. Dark skin, which is usually the defining trait for racial categories, has a very clear evolutionary history, which is not racially significant. Dark skin does not vary like a multiple choice selection; rather, skin color is variable on a continuous scale. Continuous variation allows variation to be expressed on a gradient. Skin color is a particularly adept example of how variation can be gradated. The Way skin color is expressed as a physical trait is through a pigment in cells called melanin. Along with melanin variability, the amount of hemoglobin, which shows up as the reddish tints in skin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the way natural selection and evolution take place, human variation occurs outside of the static racial categories that has persisted throughout history. These categories are based on variable physical traits that give no reliable information about the group as a whole. The plan called for government controls and government regulation for their workers. This planned also controlled prices and wages for the workers to control the standard of living and to keep the needs of the common man minimal. The government wanted control of all private industries so that they can push for a rapid industrial society. Benefits such as health care and public housing were terminated to help the Soviet government with their plan. It was not until the breaking up of the Soviet Union in the early 90 s where the Soviet economy would show signs of hope. Compared to the theories of Marx, the Soviet Union did not begin their economic development in the way, which Marx theorized. • 30. My Visit to the Brooklyn Museum During my visit to the Brooklyn Museum, I found it both intriguing and informative. The layout of the exhibition was divided into about three to four sections. Each section of the museum represented a movement of the 60 s. The themes represented were segregation of blacks and whites, how they tried to gain equality and the changes they anticipated would happen in the future. The artwork throughout the exhibit was displayed in a varying gradient of black and white to colors. The type of background information provided in the exhibit were captions under each artwork specifying the artists name, the year and time it was created and what message the artwork was trying to portray. I did find the information that was provided to me helpful because it gave me an insight on to what the specific artwork was about and the message it was trying to convey to the me, the viewer. One artwork I observed in this exhibit was David Hammons (American, b. 1943). The Door (Admissions Office), 1969. In this photograph it shows a body pressed against a door trying to gain entry into an admissions office. The main character is a young African American boy. The role the character plays is a student trying to get admissions into a White school. During this time the U.S. Federal Government implemented school desegregation throughout the nation in 1954. White communities did not like the idea of this and tried blocking black students from attending these white schools. The photo brings out a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Capitalism is the most central and consequential topic which has to do with business. The ideals of capitalism, over time, have faced much scrutiny. Many great minds within the past two centuries have discredited capitalism, for the virtues of socialism and the whole of society. It is my intent to put forth a moral justification of the ideals behind capitalism. Assuming that consumers are most concerned with their own self interest, the demand for goods that are the most useful or helpful for society will arise. Assuming, also, that producers are most concerned with their own self interest, they will further their own cause by striving to produce those goods which will be the most useful to society at the lowest possible cost. Many economists have debated that capitalism is practical because it allows each individual to align their actions with their own thoughts, instead of acting under the demands of bureaucrats. A multitude of minds attack each problem under capitalism. The successful thinkers thrive because they are able to see the opportunities that the other thinkers do not. They think of new products and come up with more efficient production methods which are innovative to their field. Everyone is able to begin a business, raise money, and market his own product in a free market, and each individual thinker is free to use his own ideas, and his success or failure is based on the merits of his own idea.
