Storyboard Research Paper
The storyboard is an important tool of any movie production, providing filmmakers with a clear
narrative guideline for the movie that, a lot of times, reads just like a comic book. Each sketch in the
storyboard represents a frame of the movie, acting as a visual script for the film to follow. Today, a
storyboard is an essential part of keeping a movie on track, but did you know it was originally
developed in the 1930 s by cartoonists at Walt Disney Studios? Because they drew everything by
hand, they needed to save time and effort by following the directions of a storyboard!
The thing about storyboards is that they don t have to look perfect. Usually, they consist of quick
sketches that visually demonstrate how the characters, props and the background ... Show more

If you have access to a whiteboard, create a visual map of the rising action of the story as well.
Introduce the process of storyboarding and share an example of the storyboarding handout with the
group.
Storyboards are important for a number of reasons! Not only do they let you visualize what you are
going to film, but they cut down on the time it takes to make a film because you know exactly what to
do in each shot. Each scene on the storyboard will need a basic sketch of who/what will be in the shot,
directions about what will happen as well as any dialogue or sound effects in that shot. Be sure to
brainstorm and plan out your storyboard before starting to fill in your printout! You may want to work
on a piece of scratch paper before setting it in stone.
Storyboard Time (small groups)
Time to sharpen your pencils and get creative! Break out into groups with storyboards and pencils in
hand, and have them start drafting their movies. It s okay if groups go through two or three drafts
before they decide on a final story. Making a new storyboard is a lot easier than filming a whole new

Water and Womanhood in Ancient Greece Essay
In the times of ancient Greece, there were ample tales, myths, and legends surrounding the realm of
the sea; many of which included fearsome beasts, epic struggles, and angered gods. There are tales of
vengeance, spite, cruelty, and rage, but there are also those of understanding, compassion, helpfulness,
and benevolence. When one subjects many of the more malevolent (and sometimes disturbing) tales to
closer inspection, it becomes fairly evident that a great number of these stories use a feminine force in
order to display the wraith of the sea and the sea gods or goddesses. In fact, many sea monsters are
said to be female including Charybdis and Scylla (the horrors between which Odysseus and his crew
must sail through the Strait of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In certain ways it represents the encircling and productive forces that are often related to women as
well; the safety of the womb, the feminine forces of creativity and intuition. Water was also commonly
used in rituals of rebirth or transformation something which was greatly connected to the female
menstrual cycle in terms of symbolic meaning. Many cultures other than the ancient Greeks had
creation myths which involved water to a great extent as well, especially portraying it as a source of
life and the essence of which all life is formed. It is even said that it was from the divine waters of the
Mother s womb that life came into existence (Laoupi, Pararas Carayannis) which encompasses both
water and womanhood in one fell swoop. Additionally, the cultural role of women was one which was
steeped in productivity and aid. This shows yet another parallel aspect which womanhood and water
share; the creation, nurturing, and sustaining of life. Both water and women have the capability to bear
children as well as protect and provide for them. Though it can be incredibly productive, water also
symbolizes a great destructive power, for in large quantities it can completely destroy and eradicate
entire cities, or even states should they be so small. Through symbolism, water and womanhood are
connected, and it is not necessarily always in a positive manor. Not only are there symbols that
connect womanhood to water, but the

Social Darwinism In The Gilded Age
Social Darwinism was applied to the country during the Gilded Age which was named after it, due to
Darwin s theory of survival of the fittest. Social Darwinism was the way they classified this time of
period because it closely resembled Darwin s theory of natural selection and was used to justify
political conservatism, imperialism, and racism and to discourage intervention and reform. Social
Darwinism began in the late 19th century and early 20th century during the time of The Gilded Age
and earlier. Herbert Spencer was a 19th century philosopher and he promoted the idea of Social
Darwinism. It basically followed the principle that only the strong would survive and prosper. While

Disarmament, Demobilization, And Reintegration Of Rebel...
Tori Topic B: Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration of Rebel Groups in Latin America
Less than eight percent of the global population resides in Latin America and the Caribbean, yet
approximately thirty three percent of the world s homicides occur in this region (Watts). More than
60,000 people have been killed by Drug Trafficking Organizations alone over the past 10 years, and
more than 26,000 have gone missing (Morris). Jordan recognizes that a significant portion of the
homicides in Latin America stem from the actions of rebel groups and, as a firm supporter of peace,
urges the international community to address the issue through Disarmament, Demobilization, and
Reintegration (DDR). To do so, the global community must shape the effectiveness and improvement
of DDR, as well as specific types of rebel groups such as gangs and drug cartels. Jordan believes that
by addressing these issues, the international community can assist Latin America in the restriction of
the influence and proliferation of rebel groups.
Although Jordan is not in close proximity with Latin America, it is invested in the issue, as the nation
itself is affected by rebel groups in the Middle East. Jordan does not currently have a presence in Latin
America concerning DDR, however, it is experienced with the concept within its own region,
specifically concerning Syria and Turkey (Piro). Jordan has a moderating effect on rebel groups in
much of the Middle East, and is a supporter of free syrian

The Nation Of Islam And The Muslim Woman
The Nation of Islam empowered many blacks in a time and place where the concept of power was
used to oppress. Christianity being a white man s religion in the eyes of the oppressed, Islam was used
in America as a tool for confirmation of beauty. The reminder of inner beauty for the people of color
caused substantial growth and powerful movement that impacted American history for generations.
The same principles that hoped to empower and give freedom towards African Americans is the same
principles that continue to mask the beauty of the Muslim woman. How can two oppressed groups of
people, blacks and woman, find two very different outcomes when practicing the Islam faith?
Recognizing the differences between the Nation of Islam and the other sects of Islam faith, there is
still a center focus on self identity and living into that mold. For some, that means taking back what
has been taken away from them, freedom. For others, it continues to mean denying inner desires for
something greater than following social norms. The murder of his father created a crimson stain in
Malcolm Little s heart. This led him to a path of petty crimes that resulted to him spending time in jail.
Malcolm began to wrestle with self identity and felt convicted that he was living into what America
already had categorized him into being, a black worthless thug. As Malcolm wrestled with this in his
cell, he met fellow convict John Bembry. Bembry as Malcolm described was the first person he

Longitudinal Waves Lab Report
Our purpose of the lab is to study the different types of waves, along with, their properties. The
procedures we did was to send a single wave to your partner. Then, move one end forward and back to
create a longitudinal wave. Although, you move the slinky up and down to create a transverse wave.
The result that we got was quite surprising. The waves created different energy outputs. We learned
that the different motions we make with a slinky can create different waves.
Introduction
I wanted to see if I can construct waves. Waves can move energy from one place to another. Energy
has particles that pass from one to another. A slinky is a great toy that can demonstrate the two basic
waves, Longitudinal and transverse. Longitudinal are waves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Procedures
Select a lab partner and gather the lab material.
On a smooth surface, stretch the slinky out between you and your partner, to a length of about four
meters.(Caution Do not overstretch the slinky)
Send a single wave to your partner.
Observe what happen to the wave when it reaches your partners ends.
Move one end of the slinky back and forth on the floor repeatedly to create a transverse wave.
Observe the what happens when you vary the rate at which your hand moves or vibrates. Next, make a
series of waves by moving your hand towards and away from your partner to make longitudinal
waves.
Observe the wave and how it travels.
When finishing the lab complete the Answer sheet.

Analysis The main purpose of the lab is to study the two basic waves along with, their properties. The
results we got were diverse from each other. The longitudinal waves compress than stretches to
become a rarefaction. However, with the transverse waves, the medium was much slower when it was
moving up and down. The only similarity that the waves share is that the energy travels through the

Cultural Differences In Culture And Business
Although we may not notice it, differences in culture affect our everyday lives including business. In
the business world, it is inevitable that you will cross paths with people of differ from you.
Understanding these differences can play a major factor to being successful in business. Improving
your level of knowledge of international cultural difference in business can help in building
international skills as well as empowering you to increase competitive advantage. Hofstede s theory
allows for statistical comparison of cultures through various studies. His extensive work gives an
insight of the culture and how its impacts business strategies of members of that society. Hofstede
studied and categorized cultures into 5 different sections; Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism, Long
term orientation, Masculinity and Power index. There are always a few generally clear signs you
should notice that shows how a country cultural and business are created. Hofstede s study results
show vast differences between the United States and Japan s culture and business. A clear majority of
Americas population is made up and individuals who have fled their countries to explore new options
in a new land.
Uncertainty avoidance is a society s acceptance for ambiguity; it ultimately refers to an individual s
pursuit for happiness. Many of the newly rich Americans wealth comes from the risk they were
willing to take to find a path to personal success. Many ignore norms our ancestors were taught

Heroes Of The Enlightenment Analysis
In the video Heroes of the Enlightenment by Humanist Society of Australia Inc, the author explains
how during the seventeenth and eighteenth century European philosophy, science and politics were
reoriented as part of a movement known as the Age of Enlightenment. The objective of the
Enlightenment was to inform the public, aiming to persuade others about the main hero s ideas within
that era. As well as, how they shaped the world that we live in today.
The first hero of the enlightenment was Isaac Newton who was an innovator of modern science, and
he founded the theory of gravity. He believed knowledge was not only written in the bible but also
about observing what happens in our surroundings. Newton conceived gravity by watching an apple
that was falling from a tree. Where other people would see just an apple falling, Newton had seen
universal forces that were in action. Newton believed that God set up the universe in its eternal state.
Newton s contributions gave people access to knowledge within the world. ... Show more content on

There once stood a haven on the corner of East 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue in New York City.
The Barbizon Hotel For Women offered a port in the storm for aspiring actresses, models and female
professionals who came to New York, to pursue their dreams of fame and fortune. New York City was
a mecca for dreamers in the 1900s, and the renowned Barbizon assured impressionable ingenues
shelter and protection from the sinister side of the city and its citizens.
In spite of New York s iconic image as a world class city, the road to fame in the Big Apple was
fraught with danger; this was especially true for young women who were away from home for the first

The Second Vatican Council And The Future Of The Church
As time constantly presses forward and the earth continues to revolve, the world will never stop
progressing and adapting to better suit the needs of mankind. The evolution of religion has greatly
enhanced the quality of life for humanity by providing individuals with a strong belief system that is
now the foundation of many peoples core values. One universal religion that has undergone extensive
amounts of reform is Christianity. In particular, the Catholic church is well known for the development
of their famous ecumenical council meetings that help determine the future of the church. Numerous
Councils have been conducted throughout the course of history, but none more significant than the
most recent, the Second Vatican Council or Vatican II. The Catholic church was operating as if it was
still the medieval period and desperately needed to be modernized. Consequently, the following will
reveal the Second Vatican Council and the ramifications of the agenda, history and theology evolution,
significant texts, and new developments. January 25th 1959, is a day every catholic remembers
because it was on that day when Pope John XXIII announced that he was assembling what was to be
the 21st ecumenical council of the Roman Catholic Church. It had been almost 100 years since the last
ecumenical council, Vatican I, so naturally the Catholic world was astonished by the news. Soon after
the Pope s announcement of the council, the Roman Catholic society quickly began preparations by

Criminal Activities On The Dark Web Essay
A severe dilemma associated with the increasing availability of the World Wide Web is the use of the
Dark Web as a means for criminal activities throughout the world. The Web consists of the Surface
Web which allows access to popular sites like YouTube and Facebook, the Deep Web, which consist
of private databases and libraries filtered out by common search engines like Google, and the Dark
Web which is intentionally hidden for reasons of anonymity; whether for good or bad reasons. There
are three main solutions that help fray criminal activities on the Dark Web: the use of specialized
government agencies to regulate and police the Dark Web, the fixation of resources to combat more
serious criminal activities: and conducting more research of the content and workings of the Dark
Web. Further examining the need for more research of the Dark Web will help elaborate why the use
of specialized government agencies and the fixation of resources on more serious crimes should not be
accepted has valid solutions. With the advancement of online anonymity tools, people world wide can
now use the Web to communicate and interact without leaving a trace of their activities or intentions.
The ability to have full anonymity while using the Web has created what is call the Dark Web. The
Dark Web was started originally with good intentions. For example, in the introduction section of the
article The Dark Web, Marcia Clemmitt explains that the Dark Web s ability to mask identities

Once Upon A Time… There Were Two Cats, Katy And Alto, Who
Once upon a time... there were two cats, Katy and Alto, who lived in a boring little town. During the
long summers they would bathe in the sun and sit at the windows watching the birds fly by. Now, all
of this was great, but after a couple months, they began to get bored and wanted something new and
exciting to do. Luckily for them, it was beginning to get cold outside, which meant it was almost their
favorite time of the year, Christmas!
Why do Katy and Alto love Christmas time so much? For Alto, Christmas is the time of year when the
great Christmas tree comes to stay at the house. She loves hiding under the tree, drinking the tree s
water, running circles around the tree, and playing with the ornaments that are placed on the tree for ...

Katy had already lain down for her mid afternoon nap and did not want to get up or play any of Alto s
silly little games. Unfortunately for Katy, Alto is very persistent and does not give up until she gets
what she wants. (She likes to remind the humans of this persistence when they do not feed her quickly
enough!) Eventually Katy gave in and walked over to the tree with Alto. She tasted some of the water
and thought to herself, Why do I let Alto talk me into these things; there is nothing weird about this
water! But just as she was thinking this, she began to feel what Alto had described, and before they
knew it, they were being transported to a place they had never seen before.
Woah! Where are we!? said Alto. There s so much snow; let s run around in it!
Katy was not as impressed because she likes to stay curled up in her favorite chair at home and this
was definitely not her favorite chair or anywhere near home. Alto soon realized that the snow maybe
was not as great as she had first thought. The snow was cold and wet. Cats do not like to be cold and
wet. Even though they each had some issues with this new place, they were determined to figure out
where they were and how they got there. So, they began to explore.
As they were walking around, Katy saw something small and green run into a big building off in the
distance. Obviously they were not going to pass up the chance to check this out, so they ran in the
direction of the building to

Purpose of the Study The purpose of the study is to see whether there is a link between middle school
students who are active on social media and cyberbullying. An in depth study will be performed to see
which, if any, outside sources contribute to cyberbullying or being a cybervictim.
Justification of the Study
As the number of teenagers logged into social media accounts increases the number of opportunities to
perpetrate or be the victim of cyberbullying also increases. A few of the main outlets for cyberbullying
are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, instant messenger, or text messages. The term bullying
has been a staple in the English language for centuries, but cyberbullying is a fairly new term.
Roberto, Eden, Savage, Ramos Salazar, and Deiss (2014) reported that 74% of teenagers have an
account on at least one social media site, but all social media site require a minimum age of 13 years
old. In reality, 7.5 million Facebook accounts are operated by someone under 13 years old, and 5
million accounts are operated by a child under the age of 10 (Roberto et al., 2010).
Cyberbullying give a new spin to bullying; therefore, the number of individuals affected by either type
of bullying, especially middle school aged are increasing. Whether it is traditional bullying or
cyberbullying, it cannot be taken lightly due to the consequences. In several cases, students who are a
victim of cyberbullying feel humiliated in school

The Impact of Motivation on Student s Academic Achievement and Learning Outcomes in

performance in mathematics at all levels of schooling. In an effort to achieve this, this study

Of all the personal and psychological variables that have attracted researchers in this area of
educational achievement, motivation seems to be gaining more popularity and leading other variables
(Tella, 2003). All the above stated reasons, for persistent failure in mathematics, which have been
proffered, bear relevant in one way or the other to the poor performance of pupils in mathematics.
This has lead to a cycle of events that could be illustrated thus: When explaining the illustration above
(Aremu, 1998) explained that; when pupils express lack of interest in the subject, it affects the way
they react or listen to the teacher. And when many of the pupils believe that they cannot pass, the
teacher is also affected. This is because aside of this negative response from the pupils, he/she as well
is already being confronted by a lot of other factors (e.g., low income, low status in society, large
teacher pupils ratio) and so on. These may cause him or her to resorts to the easiest way of
disseminating knowledge that is chalk and talk without the use of instructional materials. He may not
also bother to vary his teaching styles to suit individuals; therefore the cycle goes on (Aremu 1998).
One unfortunate outcome of this is that,

Dangerous Liaisons Essay
Comparison and Differences of Dangerous Liaisons Novel and Film The film Dangerous Liaison,
directed by Stephen Frears remains just about faithful to the epistolary novel, Dangerous Liaisons, by
Choderlos de Laclos. Stephen Frears does betray the novel towards the end of the film but, it makes
the ending that much more better and enticing. The film represents what the epistolary novel only
hints at us readers. The novel is composed of letters where we only get a sense of the characters
thoughts and emotions. The film tries to put those words into action but only showing one version of
each scene. It is different in which the writer of the novel is using words while the film maker is using
pictures to describe what s happening. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The biggest betrayal the film makes to the novel is the ending. The film ends when Merteuil goes to
the opera to find out she is hated by everyone there, she goes back to her room and it ends with her
removing her makeup, her destiny is left unknown. In the book, she gets a very painful case of small
pox and loses sight in one of her eyes after her letters to Valmont have been published. When Merteuil
removes her makeup at the end of the film, she is wiping away the surface that made her attractive, her
desirability is being wiped away. Her power has been based on her appearance and her destruction of
her face symbolizes her destruction of herself. Merteuil no longer is the strong feminist she use to be,
she is now a weak woman just like Tourvel. I think the director made a good choice in changing the
ending of the film. I was shocked and somewhat happy to see Merteuil finally get what she deserved.
The jaw dropper for me was when she fell while leaving the opera it symbolized her reputation falling
too. Everyone use to look up to Merteuil and she would control them like puppets and now the roles
have been turned. For me the ending of the movie was a lot more satisfying and jaw dropping.
Merteuil tried everything in her power to win the game of revenge and it back fired on her. Vicomte de

Academic Integrity Analysis
Academic integrity is a moral concept that ensures that you are honest in your academic endeavors as
you seek knowledge and accept responsibility for your actions and the consequences of those actions.
As defined by Mohawk College, academic dishonesty refers to any conscious, deliberate or reckless
step or omission taken to obtain academic credit through deception and/or fraudulent means (Mohawk
College, 2008). It involves understanding what constitutes as academic dishonesty, such as
misrepresentation of personal credentials of achievement, plagiarism, cheating on examinations or

Plagiarism is submitting or presenting another s work or ideas as your own without crediting the
source of the material, whether deliberate or unintentional, such as stealing or copying the material,
language or intellectual property of someone else, incorrectly citing works or improperly summarizing
and paraphrasing words, research, or ideas that belong to other authors. Citing, referencing, and
acknowledging sources can prevent most cases of plagiarizing. An example of inappropriate
approaches to papers, essays and assignments is duplicate submission, or submitting the same work
more than once without prior approval, such as handing in the same essay for two different classes.
Examples of inappropriate behaviour related to examinations and tests are cheating, such as talking or

How Did Great Britain Grow During The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was the movement in which machines changed people s everyday way of
life and the methods to manufacture goods. Before this time everyone had to spend long hours of hand
labor to even do the simplest tasks. The time period for the Industrial Revolution was around 1760
1850. There were many major improvements to the way people lived during this time such as:
agriculture, textiles, transportation, economics, and socialization. The Industrial Revolution was
sparked by Great Britain because they were the most well equipped in many ways. The British Empire
was one of the largest in the world during the Industrial Revolution. Their empire expanded across
almost the whole world; because of this they had access to almost all of the natural resources on the

The advancement of the textile industry was very important in the development of Britain s
industrialization. With the use of new machines and the assembly line it was easier to create large
amounts of anything in less time and for less money. James Watt helped create the steam engine. The
steam engine was a great source of power because it came from burning coal. Coal was highly
abundant and easily accessible for the British. This helped with the cotton industry. John Kay was also
very important player in cotton innovations. He created the flying shuttle. Before this invention it took
four people to keep up with one cotton loom, and it took ten people to prepare yarn for one weaver.
This invention made it so that not as many people had to help with weaving. This essentially doubled
a weaver s production of cloth. Cotton imports increased from 2.5 million pounds at the start of the

a filter on the rows used for the aggregation. The roles of Agg and Ref executed in lines:11 14 of
Algorithm 2 can be clarified in terms of the following SQL query
Select T1.pk, Agg(T2.aj) From T1
Join T2 on T1.pk = T2.fk
Where T2.ak Ref c
Group by T1.pk
For e.g., Ti is Customer, Ti+1 is Purchase Pur, aj = Pur.return, ak = Pur.online, Agg = AVG, Ref =
EQUALS, and c = 1, the query builds a virtual attribute vi equal to the proportion of returned online
purchases (vi = AVG(Pur.return) WHERE Pur.online = 1) made by the same customer. Note that this
attribute is a class spoiler, because it uses information on future returns. To avoid this problem, the
average needs to be computed on prior purchases. Since n:n associations are not allowed, each record
in table Ti+1 is used to build the virtual attribute of exactly one record in each preceding table. Thus,
before the Roll up procedure starts, it is possible to add a virtual attribute curDate to each table in the
path, which is the threshold to use (in our case, it is the value of T0.date).

Foster Care Ethics
Hennessy Garcia Humans naturally form their own institutions such as a family, system of
government, business, etc.... Institutions/groups are deceiving and get away with a lot. For instance,
cigarette companies advertise a product that can cause cancer. However, it seems that no one blames
the company for selling it. They will blame the individual for smoking it. It is easier to blame the
individual for making terrible choices, but it is ignorant to solely believe that individual is at fault for
their personal choices. Even when it comes to morality, people tend to blame individuals for having
flawed morals, but groups can influence immoral actions. For example, when someone commits
murder or steals it s simple to conclude that they are morally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Groups homes should be more overlooked. A group home should ensure the safety of all members.
Clearly, the head of the group home wasn t doing his/her job, which is why Randy got beaten up and
nobody didn t do anything to stop it. Another problem with the foster care system is the waiting game
to be adopted. The foster care process should look into other members of a child s family, so that way
they don t end up with random people who may or may not offer permanent care. The foster care
system in general puts kids like Randy in a constant cycle of waiting. Waiting for someone who cares
enough to display love and offer a security. Based on Ms. Anna s hospitalization, we see that Randy
was quickly out of Anna s care and taken straight into a group home. This isn t fair to Randy because
jumping from someone s care to another shows how Randy doesn t have anyone that truly cares for
him. If he had a permanent parental figure in his life, he may be loved and his safety would be
ensured. Carver offered to care for him and the foster care system denied him. The foster care system
failed Randy by not providing him the security, love and the proper care he needs. This affects Randy
immensely because, in season five episode six, he is seen pushing a kid down in the group home for
being in his way. He was basically chewed by the system and his sensitive nature seems to be

Virtuous Women In The Good Earth
In the book The Good Earth Olan could often be compared to a Virtuous woman. They both share the
quality of being faithful to their relationships. A quality they do not share is the Virtuous woman
makes enough to live off of while Olan is poor. Another quality they do not share is Olan s husband
treats her different than how virtuous woman s husband treats her. Throughout the story The Good
Earth , Olan could often be compared and contrasted to the qualities of a virtuous woman. One of the
qualities that both a virtuous woman and Olan share is they are both faithful to their relationships. The
virtuous woman will do a man good and not evil all the days of her life . Olan s husband married for
the second time, although it may have been culturally accepted, she never did the same to him. Even
though Wang Lung decided to get a second wife, Olan still prepares for the meals and cares ... Show

After Olan found the pearls they had some money that they could use. Wang Lung used some of this
money to marry a second wife who then just wore the pearls. A virtuous woman s husband doth safely
trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. Wang Lung never listened to the advice that she
gave, or thanked her for the stuff she did. Since Olan found the pearls, Wang Lung used her for that
and he treated her in a poorly way; no person should be treated in such way, they shall be treated with
respect. Throughout the story The Good Earth , Olan could often be compared and contrasted to the
qualities of a virtuous woman. Olan and a virtuous woman both treat their husbands well, no matter
the circumstances. The virtuous woman is a positive influence to others on how we should treat the
poor. Olan s husband should have treated her like a virtuous woman s husband does. Throughout the
story The Good Earth , they both have similarities and differences but they are both strong and great

Abstract
Global Financial Corporation (GF) a subsidiary of Global Equipment Company (GEC) is tasked with
handling financing for those customers who wish to purchase GEC heavy equipment. Currently GF
only processes 51% of the leases within the 10 days or less time frame, with some loans taking up
above 41 days. Ms. Rodriguez, the Vice President of GF has been directed to decrease loan processing
time to 10 days or less with the current staff she has. The current structure of the analysis and
evaluation stage does not maximize staff time effectively and as a consequence creates a bottleneck in
the process. We recommend switching to a case manager structure. lLan applications can be processed

Region 2 is only handling a total of 66 applications (35 new) with an average processing time of 5.7
days, and Region 3 handling 74 applications (42 new), averaging 8.7 days. The Northeast office
handles about 35% more applications with essentially the same staff. Only 51% of the applications are
processed within the 10 day or less requirement.
Analysis of the Current Processing Steps 1.
Analysis and evaluation stage is a single channel, interest rate multi channel, loan terms single
channel, and final issuing a multichannel. (Exhibit A)The current structure of the analysis and
evaluation stage does not maximize staff time effectively and as a consequence creates a bottleneck in
the process. With the single channel structure loan applications are unevenly distributed among teams
and create higher idle time for teams with less volume of loan applications to process. Utilization
among regions varies greatly between 73% 95%. The following observation of the current structure
was achieved using the MMK model (See exhibit B): * Expected wait time in the system for an
application in Region 1 is approximately 37 days, with actual processing time of 14.10 hours. This is
where the bottleneck occurs as it takes the evaluation team over 16 days out of the 37 to perform the
review of 78 applications. * Expected wait time in the system for an application in Region 2 is
approximately 11 days, with an actual processing time of 13.40 hours. Of the three

Comparing Dante s Inferno And The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
Both Dante Alighieri s Inferno and Haruki Murakami s The Wind up Bird Chronicle are able to reveal
aspects of human nature through physical and psychological journeys that the main character faces. In
the Inferno, Dante faces a new psychological journey in each circle of hell. In The Wind up Bird
Chronicle, Okada goes through multiple physical journeys which are all related to one of Mr. Honda s
readings. Limbo, the first circle of hell, is where Dante begins his first journey to reaching Paradise.
Midway in our life s journey, I went astray from the straight road and woke to find myself alone in a
dark wood (11). This quote signifies the beginning of Dante s journey and that it is not a literal one,

Crititque of The Produciton The Fantasticks
*Works Cited Not Included If there is truly tradition to be found among the great theatres both on and
off Broadway, then certainly the Sullivan Street Playhouse and its long running production of The
Fantasticks rates as one of the most celebrated of New York theatrical traditions. Maintaining its place
as the longest running production Off Broadway, The Fantasticks remains an enchanting and insightful
tale of both young love and bitter disillusionment. It also reminds one, in this age of spectacle and the
mega musical, how powerful and truly inspiring theatre itself can be. Clearly, one of the great

In a very humorous, but insightful duet Never Say No, the Fathers explain their intentions for
arranging their children s marriage, all the while appearing the typical, disapproving parents. At this
point, the Narrator becomes more actively involved in the action of the story and convinces the
Fathers that the only way to truly insure their children s pairing is to stage an abduction of the Girl,
thereby allowing the Boy to save her and the two to live happily ever after. Enlisting the help of a
couple of ancient traveling players, the Fathers and El Gallo do indeed stage a rather miserable
kidnapping, which works perfectly in convincing the Boy and Girl they do truly love one another and
are destined to be together forever. All of this occurs before intermission, so what s left to tell in the
second act? Simply, how life sets in, how happily ever after seldom ends happily, and whether we like
it or not, how pain and heartbreak are an essential part of real love. It is really in the telling of the
second act that the story of The Fantasticks begins to soar. Because it is at this point we begin to see
the contrast between the young lover s idealized vision of love and the reality of trying to maintain
love in a world full of thieves, cheats, and charlatans. As the second act begins, we see the actors, the

What Characters Do We Meet in The First Four Chapters of Jane Eyre And What Are They Like?
First, we meet Jane, she is a smart, quick witted girl who seems to be on a journey of becoming a
strong willed young woman. She lives with her aunt and cousins who spend their time oppressing
Jane. Aunt Reed seems to see Jane more as a nuisance that has been laid on her by her late husband.
John Reed seems to be one of the main oppressors along with his mother, he both physically harms
Jane and verbally abuses her. Georgiana and Eliza seem in the background of these first chapters, they
do not seem to like Jane either. While Jane is being abused by their brother they do not take Jane s
side but instead John Reed s.
Bessie seems to be the only kind one to Jane singing her songs and stories and showing her love.
Bessie is the maid at Gateshead along with Abbott who is not very kind to Jane. Mr. Lloyd is Janes
doctor after she faints from being in the red room, he is kind and listens to Jane and suggest that she
goes to school. finally, we meet Mr. Brocklehurst who is the head master at Lowood who seems to be
a cruel man who suggests that Jane is a bad child with barely even eyeing her.
What Are the Living Conditions Like at Lowood?
Lowood is very close to not survivable, when the food is edible, which isn t often it is lacking in
flavor and nutrients. When the food is inedible the children must wait until the next meal to eat unless

Examples Of Interview Questions About Juveniles
Interviewer: So, like I said, it s just to get your feedback on that. The first question is, do you
remember using it? Interviewee: Yes. Interviewer: What do you remember about it, if anything?
Interviewee: Just calling and one of the instances I remember calling on was a juvenile who had taken
her mother s vehicle without permission. We ended up finding the vehicle and the female who was
driving it, was reported to possible have the vehicle and so I called the juvenile center to see if they
would accept her. I remember distinctly, there was a conflict, initially they told me they wouldn t, and
then when I was talking back to the mother, the mother didn t want to take her at the time. She was
obviously upset, so I called them back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interviewee: We do, usually during the summertime we do a lot, but since school has started again. It s
not very often, especially due to working late at night, but during the daytime, we would run into
juveniles a lot whether it was at shoplifting or at the schools and everything like that. Interviewer: If
you were to sit down with the Chief and he said, overall, what do you think of this and should be
pursue it or not? Interviewee: I think, in the bigger scheme of things, I think it s a good program and
its good because at the same time, I totally completely understand that we can t take every single
juvenile to the juvenile center because it would be overrun. Especially, some of the kids that will
shoplift or do something pretty minor and they are first time offenders and that it and they never do it
again. I just don t think it s appropriate to take every single kid to the center. I think it is good to call
and then they say, sorry can you just release them to a parent or guardian. A lot of time the kids don t
even do it again after we talk to them and they realize that they don t want to go to juvenile center and
they learned that time, so I think it s a good

Bullying And Its Effects On Children
2.2 Overview: In the next 7 minutes, a child in the U.S. will be bullied. It may be the son or daughter
of someone you know. Worse, it may be your own. Meanwhile, only four out of 100 adults will step in
to stop it. And only 11 percent of the child s peers might do the same. The rest 85 percent will do
nothing. Every day in America, more than 160,000 children miss school out of fear of being bullied,
according to National Education Association estimates. Bullying takes many forms, ranging from the
seemingly innocuous name calling to the more harmful cyberbullying to severe physical violence. It
happens everywhere, at all times to the most vulnerable of kids, especially those who are obese, gay or
have a disability. And besides the physical, emotional and psychological tolls it imposes on victims,
bullying produces adverse socioeconomic outcomes. The Association for Psychological Science
recently found that those who are bullies, victims or both are more likely to experience poverty,
academic failure and job termination in their adulthood. In addition, they are likelier to commit crime
and abuse drugs and alcohol. For schools, the financial burden caused by bullying is not to be ignored,
either. According to a National Association of Secondary School Principals report, the average public
school can incur more than $2.3 million in lost funding and expenses as a result of suspensions,
expulsions, vandalism, alternative placement and lower attendance. There are different

Learn and Develop New Painting Skills while Accomplishing...
The goal of my personal project was to learn and develop new painting skills while accomplishing
something that I have always wanted to do. My original plan was to learn all of the functions and
possibilities of the human brain, but I then decided that that was not something I wanted to pursue and
that it wasn t something I could personally connect with. The idea of learning to paint a tree sprung
when I brainstormed on my past ideas and interests, and I decided that that was something I would
like to pursue.
I have always been interested in the art of painting and the detail and effort you should out into it.
When I was in elementary we took a trip to the Toledo Art Museum and I saw a lot of really detailed
paintings and I ve always thought it would be cool of I could paint something myself. I have multiple
sketches of trees and doodles, but I thought a painting would be way more in depth. I have always just
found trees interesting, possibly because they serve purposes ranging from giving us fresh oxygen to
being a spot to swing from as a child.
My topic links closet to the Approaches to Learning category. It links to this are the best because I am
attempting to learn how to paint. One of the factors in approaches to learning includes communication,
in order for me to be successful I had to communicate with art teachers in order to plan a time and
place to learn how to paint. Another factor in approaches to learning is organizational skills and
attitudes towards work, in

Evaluation Of A Student Outcomes
Part two: Summary of student outcomes
The evaluation of the students work was conducted with the end of year exams in mind. In particular, I
wanted to provide feedback and forward to the students that was targeted towards their essay writing
in the exams at the end of the year. I grouped results from what grades the students gained against the
marking schedule that I developed. Bearing in mind that the sample size was small, most students
attained the merit grade, with the same amount of students being either side of the merit grade with
three respectively. This indicates that the work that is being achieved is at an above average level,
highlighted by no one failing the assessment. The evidence also suggests that the students are on the
way to excellence. With the feed forward being provided there should be a number of those students
who should be attaining excellences in that class at the end of year mock exams.
In terms of the specific feedback forward itself. There were common trends that came through for
each grade. Figure two, outlines some common themes that came across for each student attaining
those grades. For the achieved level the, students were identifying the causes and consequences. The
feedforward for those students is that if they want to attain merits and excellences they need to be
giving more specific detail to accompany their causes and consequences. What that indicates is that I
need to provide to those students a wider range of examples to allow

  • 2. Storyboard Research Paper The storyboard is an important tool of any movie production, providing filmmakers with a clear narrative guideline for the movie that, a lot of times, reads just like a comic book. Each sketch in the storyboard represents a frame of the movie, acting as a visual script for the film to follow. Today, a storyboard is an essential part of keeping a movie on track, but did you know it was originally developed in the 1930 s by cartoonists at Walt Disney Studios? Because they drew everything by hand, they needed to save time and effort by following the directions of a storyboard! The thing about storyboards is that they don t have to look perfect. Usually, they consist of quick sketches that visually demonstrate how the characters, props and the background ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you have access to a whiteboard, create a visual map of the rising action of the story as well. Introduce the process of storyboarding and share an example of the storyboarding handout with the group. Storyboards are important for a number of reasons! Not only do they let you visualize what you are going to film, but they cut down on the time it takes to make a film because you know exactly what to do in each shot. Each scene on the storyboard will need a basic sketch of who/what will be in the shot, directions about what will happen as well as any dialogue or sound effects in that shot. Be sure to brainstorm and plan out your storyboard before starting to fill in your printout! You may want to work on a piece of scratch paper before setting it in stone. Storyboard Time (small groups) Time to sharpen your pencils and get creative! Break out into groups with storyboards and pencils in hand, and have them start drafting their movies. It s okay if groups go through two or three drafts before they decide on a final story. Making a new storyboard is a lot easier than filming a whole new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Water and Womanhood in Ancient Greece Essay In the times of ancient Greece, there were ample tales, myths, and legends surrounding the realm of the sea; many of which included fearsome beasts, epic struggles, and angered gods. There are tales of vengeance, spite, cruelty, and rage, but there are also those of understanding, compassion, helpfulness, and benevolence. When one subjects many of the more malevolent (and sometimes disturbing) tales to closer inspection, it becomes fairly evident that a great number of these stories use a feminine force in order to display the wraith of the sea and the sea gods or goddesses. In fact, many sea monsters are said to be female including Charybdis and Scylla (the horrors between which Odysseus and his crew must sail through the Strait of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In certain ways it represents the encircling and productive forces that are often related to women as well; the safety of the womb, the feminine forces of creativity and intuition. Water was also commonly used in rituals of rebirth or transformation something which was greatly connected to the female menstrual cycle in terms of symbolic meaning. Many cultures other than the ancient Greeks had creation myths which involved water to a great extent as well, especially portraying it as a source of life and the essence of which all life is formed. It is even said that it was from the divine waters of the Mother s womb that life came into existence (Laoupi, Pararas Carayannis) which encompasses both water and womanhood in one fell swoop. Additionally, the cultural role of women was one which was steeped in productivity and aid. This shows yet another parallel aspect which womanhood and water share; the creation, nurturing, and sustaining of life. Both water and women have the capability to bear children as well as protect and provide for them. Though it can be incredibly productive, water also symbolizes a great destructive power, for in large quantities it can completely destroy and eradicate entire cities, or even states should they be so small. Through symbolism, water and womanhood are connected, and it is not necessarily always in a positive manor. Not only are there symbols that connect womanhood to water, but the ... Social Darwinism was the way they classified this time of period because it closely resembled Darwin s theory of natural selection and was used to justify political conservatism, imperialism, and racism and to discourage intervention and reform. Social Darwinism began in the late 19th century and early 20th century during the time of The Gilded Age and earlier. • 5. Disarmament, Demobilization, And Reintegration Of Rebel... Tori Topic B: Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration of Rebel Groups in Latin America Less than eight percent of the global population resides in Latin America and the Caribbean, yet approximately thirty three percent of the world s homicides occur in this region (Watts). More than 60,000 people have been killed by Drug Trafficking Organizations alone over the past 10 years, and more than 26,000 have gone missing (Morris). Jordan recognizes that a significant portion of the homicides in Latin America stem from the actions of rebel groups and, as a firm supporter of peace, urges the international community to address the issue through Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR). To do so, the global community must shape the effectiveness and improvement of DDR, as well as specific types of rebel groups such as gangs and drug cartels. Jordan believes that by addressing these issues, the international community can assist Latin America in the restriction of the influence and proliferation of rebel groups. Although Jordan is not in close proximity with Latin America, it is invested in the issue, as the nation itself is affected by rebel groups in the Middle East. Jordan does not currently have a presence in Latin America concerning DDR, however, it is experienced with the concept within its own region, specifically concerning Syria and Turkey (Piro). Jordan has a moderating effect on rebel groups in much of the Middle East, and is a supporter of free syrian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Nation Of Islam And The Muslim Woman The Nation of Islam empowered many blacks in a time and place where the concept of power was used to oppress. Christianity being a white man s religion in the eyes of the oppressed, Islam was used in America as a tool for confirmation of beauty. The reminder of inner beauty for the people of color caused substantial growth and powerful movement that impacted American history for generations. The same principles that hoped to empower and give freedom towards African Americans is the same principles that continue to mask the beauty of the Muslim woman. How can two oppressed groups of people, blacks and woman, find two very different outcomes when practicing the Islam faith? Recognizing the differences between the Nation of Islam and the other sects of Islam faith, there is still a center focus on self identity and living into that mold. For some, that means taking back what has been taken away from them, freedom. For others, it continues to mean denying inner desires for something greater than following social norms. The murder of his father created a crimson stain in Malcolm Little s heart. This led him to a path of petty crimes that resulted to him spending time in jail. Malcolm began to wrestle with self identity and felt convicted that he was living into what America already had categorized him into being, a black worthless thug. As Malcolm wrestled with this in his cell, he met fellow convict John Bembry. Bembry as Malcolm described was the first person he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Criminal Activities On The Dark Web Essay A severe dilemma associated with the increasing availability of the World Wide Web is the use of the Dark Web as a means for criminal activities throughout the world. The Web consists of the Surface Web which allows access to popular sites like YouTube and Facebook, the Deep Web, which consist of private databases and libraries filtered out by common search engines like Google, and the Dark Web which is intentionally hidden for reasons of anonymity; whether for good or bad reasons. There are three main solutions that help fray criminal activities on the Dark Web: the use of specialized government agencies to regulate and police the Dark Web, the fixation of resources to combat more serious criminal activities: and conducting more research of the content and workings of the Dark Web. Further examining the need for more research of the Dark Web will help elaborate why the use of specialized government agencies and the fixation of resources on more serious crimes should not be accepted has valid solutions. During the long summers they would bathe in the sun and sit at the windows watching the birds fly by. Now, all of this was great, but after a couple months, they began to get bored and wanted something new and exciting to do. Luckily for them, it was beginning to get cold outside, which meant it was almost their favorite time of the year, Christmas! Why do Katy and Alto love Christmas time so much? Eventually Katy gave in and walked over to the tree with Alto. She tasted some of the water and thought to herself, Why do I let Alto talk me into these things; there is nothing weird about this water! But just as she was thinking this, she began to feel what Alto had described, and before they knew it, they were being transported to a place they had never seen before. Woah! Where are we!? said Alto. There s so much snow; let s run around in it! Katy was not as impressed because she likes to stay curled up in her favorite chair at home and this was definitely not her favorite chair or anywhere near home. Alto soon realized that the snow maybe was not as great as she had first thought. The snow was cold and wet. Cats do not like to be cold and wet. Even though they each had some issues with this new place, they were determined to figure out where they were and how they got there. So, they began to explore. Purpose of the Study The purpose of the study is to see whether there is a link between middle school students who are active on social media and cyberbullying. An in depth study will be performed to see which, if any, outside sources contribute to cyberbullying or being a cybervictim. Justification of the Study As the number of teenagers logged into social media accounts increases the number of opportunities to perpetrate or be the victim of cyberbullying also increases. A few of the main outlets for cyberbullying are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, instant messenger, or text messages. The term bullying has been a staple in the English language for centuries, but cyberbullying is a fairly new term. Roberto, Eden, Savage, Ramos Salazar, and Deiss (2014) reported that 74% of teenagers have an account on at least one social media site, but all social media site require a minimum age of 13 years old. In reality, 7.5 million Facebook accounts are operated by someone under 13 years old, and 5 million accounts are operated by a child under the age of 10 (Roberto et al., 2010). Cyberbullying give a new spin to bullying; therefore, the number of individuals affected by either type of bullying, especially middle school aged are increasing. Whether it is traditional bullying or cyberbullying, it cannot be taken lightly due to the consequences. In several cases, students who are a victim of cyberbullying feel humiliated in school ... All the above stated reasons, for persistent failure in mathematics, which have been proffered, bear relevant in one way or the other to the poor performance of pupils in mathematics. This has lead to a cycle of events that could be illustrated thus: When explaining the illustration above (Aremu, 1998) explained that; when pupils express lack of interest in the subject, it affects the way they react or listen to the teacher. And when many of the pupils believe that they cannot pass, the teacher is also affected. This is because aside of this negative response from the pupils, he/she as well is already being confronted by a lot of other factors (e.g., low income, low status in society, large teacher pupils ratio) and so on. These may cause him or her to resorts to the easiest way of disseminating knowledge that is chalk and talk without the use of instructional materials. He may not also bother to vary his teaching styles to suit individuals; therefore the cycle goes on (Aremu 1998). One unfortunate outcome of this is that, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Dangerous Liaisons Essay Comparison and Differences of Dangerous Liaisons Novel and Film The film Dangerous Liaison, directed by Stephen Frears remains just about faithful to the epistolary novel, Dangerous Liaisons, by Choderlos de Laclos. Stephen Frears does betray the novel towards the end of the film but, it makes the ending that much more better and enticing. The film represents what the epistolary novel only hints at us readers. The novel is composed of letters where we only get a sense of the characters thoughts and emotions. The film tries to put those words into action but only showing one version of each scene. It is different in which the writer of the novel is using words while the film maker is using pictures to describe what s happening. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The biggest betrayal the film makes to the novel is the ending. The film ends when Merteuil goes to the opera to find out she is hated by everyone there, she goes back to her room and it ends with her removing her makeup, her destiny is left unknown. In the book, she gets a very painful case of small pox and loses sight in one of her eyes after her letters to Valmont have been published. When Merteuil removes her makeup at the end of the film, she is wiping away the surface that made her attractive, her desirability is being wiped away. Her power has been based on her appearance and her destruction of her face symbolizes her destruction of herself. Merteuil no longer is the strong feminist she use to be, she is now a weak woman just like Tourvel. I think the director made a good choice in changing the ending of the film. I was shocked and somewhat happy to see Merteuil finally get what she deserved. The jaw dropper for me was when she fell while leaving the opera it symbolized her reputation falling too. Everyone use to look up to Merteuil and she would control them like puppets and now the roles have been turned. For me the ending of the movie was a lot more satisfying and jaw dropping. Merteuil tried everything in her power to win the game of revenge and it back fired on her. Vicomte de Valmont s character in the novel and film are very faithful to each other. Valmont, who is a ... Citing, referencing, and acknowledging sources can prevent most cases of plagiarizing. How Did Great Britain Grow During The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was the movement in which machines changed people s everyday way of life and the methods to manufacture goods. Before this time everyone had to spend long hours of hand labor to even do the simplest tasks. The time period for the Industrial Revolution was around 1760 1850. There were many major improvements to the way people lived during this time such as: agriculture, textiles, transportation, economics, and socialization. The Industrial Revolution was sparked by Great Britain because they were the most well equipped in many ways. The British Empire was one of the largest in the world during the Industrial Revolution. Their empire expanded across almost the whole world; because of this they had access to almost all of the natural resources on the planet. John Kay was also very important player in cotton innovations. He created the flying shuttle. • 21. A Note On The And Refinements A. Aggregations and Refinements: Let us analyze the case when the Roll up procedure encounters a 0:n association Ti Ti+1 (Algorithm 2). To generate a virtual attribute vi, the Roll up procedure applies 1) an aggregation operator Agg to an attribute aj and 2) a refinement operator Ref for the comparison of any attribute ak to a quantity c. Aggregation operators summarize the information contained in Ti+1, while the refinement operator is a filter on the rows used for the aggregation. The roles of Agg and Ref executed in lines:11 14 of Algorithm 2 can be clarified in terms of the following SQL query Select T1.pk, Agg(T2.aj) From T1 Join T2 on T1.pk = T2.fk Where T2.ak Ref c Group by T1.pk For e.g., Ti is Customer, Ti+1 is Purchase Pur, aj = Pur.return, ak = Pur.online, Agg = AVG, Ref = EQUALS, and c = 1, the query builds a virtual attribute vi equal to the proportion of returned online purchases (vi = AVG(Pur.return) WHERE Pur.online = 1) made by the same customer. Note that this attribute is a class spoiler, because it uses information on future returns. To avoid this problem, the average needs to be computed on prior purchases. Since n:n associations are not allowed, each record in table Ti+1 is used to build the virtual attribute of exactly one record in each preceding table. Thus, before the Roll up procedure starts, it is possible to add a virtual attribute curDate to each table in the path, which is the threshold to use (in our case, it is the value of T0.date). ... Institutions/groups are deceiving and get away with a lot. For instance, cigarette companies advertise a product that can cause cancer. However, it seems that no one blames the company for selling it. They will blame the individual for smoking it. It is easier to blame the individual for making terrible choices, but it is ignorant to solely believe that individual is at fault for their personal choices. Meanwhile, only four out of 100 adults will step in to stop it. And only 11 percent of the child s peers might do the same. The rest 85 percent will do nothing. Every day in America, more than 160,000 children miss school out of fear of being bullied, according to National Education Association estimates. Bullying takes many forms, ranging from the seemingly innocuous name calling to the more harmful cyberbullying to severe physical violence. It happens everywhere, at all times to the most vulnerable of kids, especially those who are obese, gay or have a disability. And besides the physical, emotional and psychological tolls it imposes on victims, bullying produces adverse socioeconomic outcomes. The Association for Psychological Science recently found that those who are bullies, victims or both are more likely to experience poverty, academic failure and job termination in their adulthood. In addition, they are likelier to commit crime and abuse drugs and alcohol. For schools, the financial burden caused by bullying is not to be ignored, either.
