Easy Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Easy Essays" may initially seem like a straightforward task,
given the seemingly simplistic nature of the subject. However, delving into the intricacies of this
theme poses a unique set of challenges.
The paradox lies in the oxymoronic nature of the topic itself. While the notion of an "easy essay"
suggests simplicity and minimal effort, crafting an essay on this subject requires a delicate
balance. The challenge lies in avoiding the risk of creating a superficial piece that undermines the
essence of thoughtful and well-constructed writing.
Attempting to explore the concept of "Easy Essays" forces one to navigate the fine line between
maintaining simplicity and delivering meaningful content. Striking this balance becomes a test of
one's ability to engage the audience without succumbing to the temptation of oversimplification.
The challenge lies not only in presenting information in an accessible manner but also in ensuring
that the substance of the essay remains substantial and intellectually satisfying.
Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the potential paradoxical interpretations of the term
"easy." Does it refer to the ease of comprehension, the simplicity of the writing process, or the
casual nature of the subject matter? Juggling these different facets can complicate the writing
process, requiring careful consideration to avoid confusion and maintain coherence.
In essence, composing an essay on "Easy Essays" demands a nuanced approach. The writer must
navigate through layers of meaning, ensuring that the essay reflects both simplicity and depth.
Striking this delicate balance may prove challenging, but it offers a unique opportunity to
explore the nuances of communication and the art of conveying ideas effectively.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "Easy Essays" presents
a complex challenge. It requires the author to navigate the paradox inherent in the subject,
delicately balancing simplicity and substance. Crafting such an essay demands a thoughtful
approach to ensure that the final piece is not only accessible but also intellectually satisfying.

The Reformation And Martin Luther And The Protestant...
The Reformation, also called Protestant Reformation. It is the religious revolution
that took place in the Western church in the 16th century. Its greatest leaders
undoubtedly were Martin Luther and John Calvin. Having reached political
economic, and social effects, the Reformation became the basis for the founding of
Protestantism, one of the three major branches of Christianity. The movement began
by Martin Luther when he made his dramatic stand quickly spread across Europe.
Within a short amount of time, new forms of religious practices, doctrines, and
organizations, including Zwinglianism, Calvinism, Anabaptism, and Anglicanism,
were attracting adherents all over Europe (spielvogel 366). Although it seemed very
helpless to stop the new Protestant churches, the Catholic churchalso underwent a
reformation and manage to revive its fortunes by the mid 16th century. Very soon the
doctrine divisions between Protestants and Catholics led to a series of religious wars
that dominated the history of western Europe in the second half of the 16th century.
The Reformation was not unprecedented. Martin Luther claimed that what had
distinguished him from previous reformers was that while they attacked corruption
in the life of the church, he went to the theological root of the problem. World War I,
also called the First World War or Great War. It was an international conflict that in
1914 18 embroiled most of the nations of Europe along with Russia, the United

Masculinity Essay
Part A: Bronies and the Social Construction of Masculinity According to Connell,
there are four masculinities present in our society: hegemonic, complicit,
marginalized, and subordinate. Hegemonic masculinity is the dominant form of
masculinity in society. It is culturally valued as the most type of masculinity. Connell
states that the qualities of hegemonic masculinity include heterosexuality, whiteness,
physical strength, and suppression of emotions. When men do not fit the
characteristics of hegemonic masculinity but they do not challenge it means they
belong to the complicit masculinity category. These men often admire the
characteristics of hegemonic masculinity. Marginalized masculinity is when men
cannot fit into the hegemonic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bronies experience gender policing by family, friends, and the media. Gender
policing is the responses to the violation of gender rules aimed at promoting
conformity (Wade 355). In the film Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult
Fans of My Little Pony, some Bronies could tell their stories about telling their
friends and family and how other peers viewed them when they came out as a
Brony. Lyle told his story about his Brony journey. One day Lyle asked his mother
what she would think if he liked the show My Little Pony, and she said she would
be worried about him so he played it off as a joke. He felt his own mother would
not accept the fact that he liked the show. He did not want his father to ever find out
because he did not want his dad to think he was gay or a man child. He did not want
his parents to view him differently all because he liked a show aimed for younger
girls. Alex was another guy from the video sharing his story. Alex lives in a place
where a people believe that if a guy is not masculine that means they are
homosexual. Alex was bullied at a gas station because he had pony decals on his
car. The guy who bullied Alex about his car smashed his back window where the
decals were at. Then the guy playfully pointed a gun at Alex and told him to stop
with the gay girly shit. The media only criticizes Bronies by calling them weird, gay,
creepy, pedophiles, disgusting, feminine, etc. Bronies face
The Four Culture Types Consists Of Two Dimensions
The two by two matrix that Cameron and Quinn use to describe the four culture
types consists of two dimensions. The first dimension differentiates effectiveness
criteria that emphasizes flexibility, discretion, and dynamism from criteria that
emphasizes stability, order, and control. This just means that some organizations are
viewed as effective if they are able to change rapidly whereas others are viewed
effective if they are stable. The other dimensions differentiates effectiveness based on
whether or not they are internally oriented or if they if they are externally oriented.
Thus saying that some companies are viewed as effective if they are focused on
harmonious internal operations for example IBM. Whereas, other are deemed
effective if they are focused on competition with outsiders such as Honda. The two
dimensions above then are able to create four distinct organizational culturetypes:
clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market.
The clan culture became popular after Japan s success after WWII. Some typical
characteristics in clan culture are teamwork, and corporate commitment to
employees. The basic assumptions include: customers are best thought of as
partners, the environment can best be managed through teamwork and employee
development and more. They are typified by a friendly place to work where people
share a lot of themselves and where success is defined in terms of internal climate
and concern for people.
The Adhocracy culture is one in which is typified by its
Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy Essay
Epinephrine Induced Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy Background: Takotsubo
cardiomyopathy also called as Stress induced transient cardiomyopathy, apical
ballooning syndrome, and broken heart syndrome was first reported in 1991 [1пЃќ in
Japan, and accounts for 1.2% of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) that present with
elevated cardiac biomarkers [1,2,3пЃќ. The condition is often associated with acute
medical illnesses, catastrophic life events, and intense physical or emotional stress [2,
3пЃќ. Although the pathogenesis of stress induced cardiomyopathy is not fully
understood, the hypothesis includes catecholamine excess [16пЃќ, coronary
vasospasm, micro vascular dysfunction and dynamic mid cavity or left ventricular

The Sun Rising
The Sun Rising is a poem written by John Donne in the late 1590s consisting of 30
lines divided into three stanzas of 10 lines each following the rhyme scheme
ABBACDCDEE. John Donne was a leading English poet of the Metaphysical school
often considered as the greatest love poet in the English language. If we take into
account the rhymes of each stanza, we may note that within a stanza, three units are
being proposed : first of all the first unit of the stanza is composed of introverted
rhymes following the rhymescheme ABBA, then the second unit of the stanza is
composed of alternate rhymes following the rhyme scheme CDCD, finally the last
unit is a couplet with the rhyme scheme EE. The poem is generally iambic but the
pattern is occasionally broken by the poet to mark style effects as well as the meters
that are irregular, moreover Donne uses many archaisms throughout his poem. In this
aubade, the poet complains about the sun that interrupts in the morning the two...

The poem humanizes the sun by personifying it from the first line : busy old fool ,
as an old man with duties to perform : shine on the world and awaken the earthlings
in the morning. Through the adjectives unruly (l.1), saucy pedantic wretch (l. 5),
the poet brings a human touch to the sun giving it a personality and a conscience
and even grants it eyes in line 16 and 19 : look , saw st (here with a syncope) ; a
voice in line 19 : ask ; as well as ears in line 20 : hear . The adjectives used may be
surprising to the reader, Donne lectures the sun using an apostrophe from the first
line and marks the tone with a trochee that emphasizes on the rebellious character of
the poet awakened by the sunbeams. The sun represents the passage of time which
threatens the relationship of the lovers but the poet emphasizes in line 9 and 10 that
despite the passage of time, love resists the temporal power of the
War Narrative
It started out as yet another wet and sloppy day in the camp with nothing to do. I sat
in my bunk listening to my buddies talk amongst themselves about the crappy
weather and the war. They chatted about the normal things; all of them wanting to
finally get home and be dry, but all of them knowing that it would not happen any
time soon. As I sat there in my hard cot, my minddrifted off to the fond memories of
home in Iowa. I remember my sister and my two brothers and recall the great times
we had together. I can still picture the looks on the faces of my family as I left them
that day and also the face of my dear wife, Chris. Oh, how I miss them all so much
and I know that I have to make it back to them. I also think about my job back at

I remember how everything happened so quickly in the months leading up to the
war. It all started with the days of the draft in 1969. I sat and listened to all the
dates being called out and finally, I heard my birthday. My heart sank, while I stood
shocked and I just stopped thinking and moving. Life, however, didn t stop with me
and the time before being brought in for the first round of training came by like a
rocket. There was hardly anytime to blink prior to the first day of training. Training
was a very hard and rough experience, especially, due to the fact I was not a good
runner. I can still faintly feel the in my arms from the numerous pushups and physical
activities that we endured. Beyond the physical pain, came the mental and emotional
strain of getting ready for a war. I was only 19 years old at the time and had not really
had a chance to grow up. So I had to quickly learn how to be self sufficient and learn
how to take orders in order to survive. Following the six weeks of initial training, I
quickly married my high school sweetheart Chris. Not long after came time to leave
for the real war and head towards
The Ethical Implications Of Vegetarianism
Vegetarians are people who do not eat meat, and for some, do not consume any
animal products at all. Vegetarian has been along for a long time and with time has
grown the controversy over the topic. The reasons that vegetarianism has grown into
a controversial topic are mostly the human beliefs and health reasons associated with
it.
Vegetarianismhas been around since as early as the seventh century B.C.E.. The
civilization was the Indus Valley Civilization, they practiced tolerance towards all
living things. Several Indian cultures and various religions (such as a ahimsДЃ) also
practice non violence towards animals ( Vegetarianism , Wikipedia.com). This
used to be the sole purpose for being vegetarian, but nowadays people are becoming
vegetarian for several more reasons. The ethical aspect is still a big reason in the
decision. Health benefits and environmental aspects have now also become big
reasons for the controversy over vegetarianism. People say that killing animals for
food is not morally wrong and, is in fact, a crucial part of our lives. Another aspect is
that, while in some ways vegetarianism is beneficial to the environment, it can also
hurts the environment. Also, despite all of the health benefits involved with
vegetarianism, there are also several health concerns connected with it. There are
many aspects that make the topic of vegetarianism a controversial topic. One of
these is that some people believe that the killing of animals for food, and the way

Swot Analysis Netflix
Netflix is a company known around the world. It started with humble beginnings,
and popped on the scene and not only reinvented the way we watch movies at
home, but took over the industry. In this case I will analyze the Video On Demand
or VOD industry using Porter s Five Forces Model and conduct a SWOT analysis
on Netflix. I will also discuss why Netflix has been so successful, what their
competitive advantages are, some of my personal recommendations, and finally
any strategic advantages CEO Reed Hastings should pursue on the future. Using
Porter s Five Forces Model I am going to analyze the VOD industry, Porter s model
is made up of economic powers of customers, economic power of suppliers, direct
competitors, potential competitors, and finally firms that offer substitutes. In the
VOD industry I believe the customer have a high economic power. The top three
streaming services in the industry are, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video Services.
If the customer deems the price too high they can simply leave, and because
customers aren t required to sign a contact they can simply stop services. Which
will cause the number of users to fall and profits to decrease as well. Next in Porter s
model is economic power of suppliers. The industry as a whole is very large,
Netflix had 76 million users in 2016, Amazon had 44 million in 2015, and Hulu had
9 million in 2015. The suppliers (Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu) don t have a huge
power, across the board all three services are

During the Gilded Age America experienced the Second Industrial Revolution .
Between the end of the Civil War and the early twentieth century, the United States
underwent one of the most rapid and profound economic revolutions any country
has ever experienced. There were numerous causes for this explosive economic
growth. The country enjoyed abundant natural resources, a growing supply of
labor, an expanding market for manufactured goods, and the availability of capital
for investment. The uprising of big businesses, railroads, and factory transformed
America from being based on small farm work into an industrial powerhouse.
During the Second Industrial Revolution the role of big business in federal and
state governments was a monumental turning point in the history of this country,
setting a foundation which has come to play a big role in government policy
today. In a time period where the American Government did not have a real system
in place for becoming an elected official, a great portion of the government was
corrupted by people put in place by owners of big businesses and in turn they agreed
to pass laws or do other favors for their benefit. Moguls such as John D. Rockefeller,
and Andrew Carnegie played major roles big business. The rapid expansion of
factory production, mining, and railroad construction in all parts of the country
except the South signaled the transition from Lincoln s America a world centered on
the small farm and artisan workshop to a

The Ideal Of Heroism
The ideal of heroism in comics is displayed as that of normal citizens taking action
against the tides of evil in the world. The fantastical element of super strength,
uncanny agility, and web slinging exploits are paled in comparison to what lives
in the heart of a hero according to comics. Superheroes, or supervillains, are not
gods who come down from heaven to save or destroy us, though there are
exceptions, but are instead the human spirit uplifted to a point of power. In comics,
a hero is someone who does the right thing even if it is difficult, because they are, or
should, be the best of us. In Spider Man, heroism is the responsibility to make the
world a better place that motivated by the death of his uncle. Peter Parker wishes to
bring less heartache to the world; he wishes to prevent what happened to him from
happening to others. Peter Parker sacrifices nearly everything in his life in the
pursuit of protecting the city but that is not how it began. In the beginning of his
career being Spider Man was a means to an end to gain respect and pay the bills.
For Luke Cage a hero is his new identity built from the ashes of his former life.
Heroism is an occupation for Luke Cage to regain what was taken from him. But
does this monetary influence somehow dampen the heroics of Spider Man and
Luke Cage? And if they both are using their powers to make a better world it begs
the question; what does it mean to make the world a better place? What actions are

society.Industrialization s positive effects were more jobs and healthy people along

hardships that us as the people had to deal with. We did, the people, we dealt with

Murders In The Rue Morgue
The Murders in the Rue Morgue, written by Edgar Allan Poe in 1841 is considered to
be the first true detective story ever written, and the influence for works such as
Sherlock Holmes. The narrator and his friend C. Auguste Dupin, after finding out
about an intriguing murder, find themselves trying to free an innocent man and find
the real beast behind the murders in the rue morgue. Through Poe s use of symbolism
and vivid imagery, the theme of the story is revealed as the struggle between the
analytical, emotional, and imaginative. The Murders in the Rue Morgue presents a
recurring theme of the battle between the analytical, emotional, and imaginative. In
the beginning of the story, Poe describes a chess battle in great detail,... Show more

In the paragraphs depicting the murder scene, Poe writes, Upon the floor were
found four Napoleons, an ear ring of topaz, three large silver spoons, three smaller

These items that are strewn across the house are red herrings. The reader thinks
that they are important to finding out who committed the murder when in reality
they are not. This conflicts us as readers, because what we are analyzing and what
is in front of us is irrelevant, and we are forced to rely on our imagination or in this
case, Dupins . Another example is the gruesome description of the murder victims,
...lay the corpse of the old lady, with her throat so entirely cut that, upon an attempt
to raise her, the head fell off. The body, as well as the head, was fearfully
mutilated... This raw imagery gives the readers mixed emotions, all while they try
to analyze the evidence. They are faced with the same problem that plagued the
Prefect of Police: they only look at the obvious evidence, overlooking any other
possibilities. The imagery that Poe uses in the Murders in the Rue Morgue puts us
in the place of Auguste C. Dupin and the Prefect of Police, challenging us to solve
the crime as we are berated with fact, possibilities, and our own human

Essay about A Life of Celibacy; Buddhism and Sex
A Life of Celibacy; Buddhism and Sex Buddhism which just may be the most tolerant
religion in the world, constitutes teachings that can coexist with almost any other
religions. Buddhism began with Siddhartha Gautama who lived in northern India in
the sixth or fifth century B.C.E. The religion has guidelines in two forms in which
Buddhist followers must follow. These are the Four Noble Truths and the Eight fold
Path. Buddha taught that man is a slave to his ego and that the cause of suffering is
desire, essentially the way to end suffering is to overcome desire. Buddhist views
toward sex are those constituting that it is a natural part of human life, but also
something that is associated with craving. As the Buddhist path involves... Show more

In fact, the Buddhist name for monastic celibacy is brahmachariya in Sanskrit that
means В‘Godly conduct . This kind of spiritual pride further devalues both the men
and women outside of monastic life. Ironically, the negative attitude towards
sexuality associated with the brahmachariya life style might actually be viewed as a
kind of reversed attachment to sexuality. After all, aren t we as attached to that
which we try to suppress as we are to that in which we favor? But before evaluating
the celibate life style in totally negative terms, we must remember that it is not the
only side. The Buddha taught that as long as one is absorbed in sexual activity, one
could not be interested in a practicing spiritual life. But when he gave his gradual
enlightenment teaching, he also said that the sensation of lust, of sexuality, has
pleasure. In this way he did not deny the pleasure. But then, that very pleasure turns
into displeasure, and gradually, slowly, as the lust wears out, people begin to fight.
Because out of lust arises fear, then greed, and soon anger, hatred, confusion and
fighting; all these negative things arise from lust. And therefore these negative things
are inherent in lust. Which is something any human being can confess to, there is a
fine line between love and hate, and the same goes for lust. Whether you are
heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, is indifferent. As long as you are in it, you will

Term Limits Should Stay In Office
Many government officials try their hardest to stay in office or move higher up in
order to keep their political influence intact, this being they are making a career out
of politics. This was never intended to happen, and people who believe that there is
no need for term limits are wrong. Term limits should stay in place, in fact maybe
it would be wise to add a few more limits. First, newly elected officials have open
eyes and see the other party as their enemy and fight harder for things they want or
need, opposed to those who are constantly re elected into office. Long serving
lawmakers often become more understanding of the rival party and learn how to find
workable compromises (Don t).We don t need compromises we need change and

As military triage has evolved during the twentieth century, the goal of maintaining

Triage can be performed in a number of locations and circumstances. Triage may be

Buddhism In The Tale Of Genji
Buddhism in the Tale of Genji
My interpretation of Buddhism in the Tale of Genji is that the nobles sought after a
religion of least resistance, in terms of guiltless religion. Lady Murasaki portrayed
Genji as a man on a pursuit of stratification and enlightenment, this coincides well
with Buddhism. For instance, Genji would consult monks in times of strife and
conflict. Buddhism in the Heian Period gave means for the nobles to have a religious
back bone of counsel, personal enlightenment, rituals and faith based healing.
This form of Buddhism in The Tale of Genjiis called court Buddhism and was vital to
many of daily proceedings of the aristocrats. When illness struck, the aristocrats

A common emotion towards death in the Buddhist culture is being scared to die.
This is because Buddhists all believe in a never ending life cycle called
reincarnation. This means that when somebody dies their spirit will be brought
back but not in the same form as their former life. It was believed that when Genji
passed away he was reincarnated as his son Kaoru who acts just like Genji did and
displays the same heroism. Who or what they are in their next life all revolves
around karma. If they were a bad person and they were something such as an
emperor in their next life they will be reincarnated into a lower status such as being
a peasant. If they were a good person, they will earn a better position in their
subsequent life. No matter the status of the person in their current existence, they
were all petrified of dying because even feeling simple emotions that can seem
uncontrollable such as jealously or anger can be enough to be demoted in your next
life. The only way to escape this reincarnation cycle was to become enlightened .
Being enlightened is the ultimate goal when practicing Buddhism as it is the highest
level that can be achieved.
Genji tries to follow some aspects of Buddhism but others not so much such as
monogamy, as he has many affairs in his lifetime. It is believed that all the

Understanding why and how children become victims to online predators is
relatively simple to understand and process. Parents are always telling their
children to respect and obey adults. This has been instilled to the children that the
adults hold the power of acceptance and the pleasure of pleasing the adult figures in

The Main Causes Of The Woes Of Math Anxiety
The Woes of Math Anxiety Math anxiety is the phenomenon that affects may
people, causing them to feel anxiety or stress when faced with anything related to
math. Math anxiety can potentially affect anyone with the condition at any point
in their lives, but it is most prominent within the classroom, as that is when the
math is the most stressful. Three of the main causes of math anxiety are: public
exposure, the influence of teachers, and time deadlines (Curtain Phillips, 2017).
Once the causes are fully understood, a method to overcome them can be created.
Firstly, it is important to understand when someone is suffering from math anxiety.
Some symptoms are: passive behavior, a feeling of being alone, a lack of
confidence and panic during tests (Oxford 2017). ( In complete paragraph) Public
exposure refers to a student being publicly wrong, such as when called upon a by a
teacher to answer a question. This can lead to many students, especially those with
math anxiety to not speak up during class as to not make a fool of themselves.
Sometimes in even worse cases, a student has been reprimanded or scolded by a
teacher in the past which would cause them to become weary or even scared of
answering a question in class (Oxford 2017). The best way to overcome this issue
would be with positive reinforcement. Placing great focus on their success while
keeping criticisms of their failure constructive gives the student the message that it is
ok to be wrong, as no one is correct every
Essay Character Analysis of Dean Winchester
Anna Prioletti
Professor Watts
English 102 A24
January 20, 2013
Through the Eyes of Dean Winchester:
On the Road and On the Hunt In my favorite TV show, Supernatural, one of the
protagonists and my favorite character is Dean Winchester, a certainly very round
character. The series begins in Lawrence, Kansas with the demonic death of Dean s
mother Mary. Consequently he, his brother Sam, and his father John are thrust into
the world of the supernatural. John becomes obsessed with hunting the evil he
encounters and ultimately tracking down the demon that killed Mary. As Dean
grows, he learns more and more about hunting, weaponry, and the supernatural
creatures that haunt this world. Due to circumstance, he is forced to grow up at ...

He didn t even hesitate. Dean s inner mission is to save everyone he can, especially
Sam, before he saves himself. After the death of Mary, Dean was raised on two
principles: hunting and taking care of Sam. He feels it is his job and duty to do
everything in his power to protect Sam. Dean s family is his world, and after his
father dies, all he has left is Sam. In every situation where Sam is hurt or in danger,
Dean loses any inhibition or fear in order to save him. As Sam grew, Dean did his
best to shield him from the world they knew so that he could be a normal happy
kid. Flashbacks throughout many episodes show viewers their lives as they grew
up. What Dean wants most is to be able to work and survive without Sam so that
he can lead a normal, happy life. He knows it is too late for him. Later in the series,
Dean gets involved with an old flame and her son. He constantly struggles to
maintain their relationship while at the same time protect them from the hazards of
his lifestyle. He eventually gives them up to keep them out of harm. The constant
conflict he faces prevents him from becoming close with people. Therefore,
occasionally he has to remind Sam that they are all they have. Every episode tends
to include and end with some emotional scene in which Dean is rarely open or
agreeable to talking about his feelings. He grew up being the strong anchor for his
family. To him, his
First Person Singular Narrative
Throughout the novella, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Gabriel Garcia Marquez
chooses to narrate the book from an unclear point of view. Certain sections of the
book seem to be written in a first person singular point of view, while others seem to
be in first person plural, and yet others seem to be written in the third person. For
example, on the ninety eighth page of this chronicle, the narrator relates to the
audience the arrival of the magistrate investigating the murder. I never discovered his
name. Everything we know about his character has been learned from the brief... .
The use of the word I in this quote relates a first person singular narrativebecause it
provides understanding to the audience of the narrator relating a personal
Karen Compano Murder
On July 1, 1992 Karen Compano went missing. Chris had worked in construction
and spent time in jail for petty theft. Karen was the bread winner. Neighbors heard
the familiar arguing of Karen and her Husband Chris. Karen was telling Chris he
needed to join a drug program for his drug problem. Chris said Karen left shortly
after for a walk. He then left to go to a bar and had a couple of drinks. The next day
Chris called Karen s work and when he was told she was not there he filed a missing
person s report with the police. The police checked the house and reported no foul

she disappeared off the face of the Earth .

Then they were dragged to the back steps, to the walkway, and to the driveway. At

Now they had to determine was it enough blood to be a homicide? They
reconstructed an experiment and the medical examiner claimed that the victim lost
over forty percent of their blood, so they did not survive it. Now that they knew
someone was murdered in the house, the next question in their head was is it Karen?
They had obtained blood samples from Karen s Mother, Sisters, Children, and Ex
Husband. They compared the known sample found on the carpet in the bedroom to
Karen s relatives. The key to this test was seeing if half of the DNA matched the
known sample to Karen s family. When it came back that it did match, they knew it
was Karen who was murdered in the bedroom.
Chris was now arrested. Prosecutors were confident that he would get convicted
even without the body and without the murder weapon. Right before the trial

National Parks And National Parks

the United States(US) today. When it comes to protecting and preserving our
National parks we must strive in order to protect the wildlife, preserve it from

Protecting Wildlife We must work as a team with our park rangers in order to
protect the wildlife from what harm could and may come to the wildlife, Not only for
them, but for ourselves. We protect to promote biodiversity, keep them as natural and
undisturbed as possible, and National Parks are beneficial to humans.
Promote biodiversity We must be striving to keep protecting animals from harm
through National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. When we are able to do this
successfully then we are able to have biodiversity. Biodiversity is, according to
Merriam Webster, the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or
ecosystem. When a ecosystem, for example National Park is an example, is
flourishing it is because of biodiversity; it is truly a beautiful sight. When we are
able to create a well working environment it all thanks to diversity. When you walk

Swot Analysis of Mcdonald s vs. Burger King
The McDonald brothers first restaurant, founded in 1937 in a parking lot just east
of Pasadena, Calif., didn t serve hamburgers. It had no playground and no Happy
Meals. The most popular item on the menu was the hot dog, and most people ate it
sitting on an outdoor stool or in their cherished new autos while being served by
teenage carhops. That model was a smashing success for about a decade. Then
America s tastes began to change, and the Golden Arches changed with them. As
cars lost some of their romance, indoor restaurants took over. When adults became
bored with the menu in the 1960s, a new sandwich called the Big Mac wooed them
back. As consumers grew weary of beef, McDonald s introduced bite size chunks of

will rekindle the company s entrepreneurial flair. A new cooking system set for

the menu. Fundamentally, however, tomorrow s McDonald s won t be much
different. Do we have to change? asks Quinlan. No, we don t have to change. We
have the most successful brand in the world. McDonald s, though, is doing some
tinkering. The new head of the domestic division Jack M. Greenberg, a pleasant 54
year old lawyer who has been with the company 16 years has brought in a handful
of new managers, including executives from Burger King, Boston Market, and
General Electric Co. We are not afraid to do things differently, Greenberg says. In a
first for the burger giant, McDonald s in February bought a stake in another
restaurant, a 14 outlet chain in Denver called Chipotle Mexican Grill. But execs
emphasized that the heart of the company s menu will remain the same and that it
believes it can squeeze new profits from the U.S. burger business, even though
McDonald s already dominates the crowded segment. We will extend our line, rather
than going in more radical, different directions, says Quinlan, 53, who started in the
company mailroom at age 19. I m a fan of menu tweaking. Compare the McDonald s
strategy with that at other companies that have prospered despite

Importance Of Alcestis Silence For Athenian Women
Euripides further demonstrates that he is not a feminist by denying Alcestis of her
agency at the end of Alcestis. When Heracles brings Alcestis back after rescuing
her from Death, she has lost the ability to speak for three days (Alc. 1142 1146).
This action denies Alcestis of her agency in several ways. First, she was never able
to actually finish dying to save her husband. By not being able to die, Alcestis never
fully carried out the action that was going to give her agency and honor as a perfect
wife. Secondly, Alcestis silence serves as a way to make her an obedient feminine
wife. As Slater mentions, by presenting Alcestis in this way, Euripides shows that the

While she had the ability to decide if she would be a wiling or unwilling victim,
she had no choice in the fact that she was going to die. This is because Euripides let
male characters make the decision that they would definitely sacrifice Iphigenia. As
soon as Agamemnon found out that his daughter would have to be sacrificed so the
Greeks would do well in the war, many men became involved. These men began to
try and plot if they should sacrifice Iphigenia and if they were to go about saving her,
how they should do so. As Christina Sorum points out, Iphigenia perpetuates the
patriotic theme introduced by her father (541). Had Agamemnon never found out that
it was prophesized that his daughter should be sacrificed in order for the Greeks to be
successful, Iphigenia would have never had the opportunity to make the decision to
willingly die. Without this decision, Iphigenia would have never been presented with

Nursing Theory Of The American Nurses Association
Gina M. Randolph NURS 3201 Professional Nursing Concepts Mrs. Pautler July 9,
2017 Nursing Theory According to the American Nurses Association, Nursing is the
protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness
and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and
treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families,
groups, communities, and populations. (American Nurses Association, n.d.) Each
professional nursing organization has their own definition of what nursing is.
However, there is not one universal definition for nursing. Nursing is an ever
changing and growing profession, from the times of Florence Nightingale in the
Crimean war with minimal education and the days of very little critical thinking on
the nurse s part, to the current days of focus on education and learning and a nurse
who leads the care of her patients. From the beginning, nursing leaders developed
theories which shaped and developed nursing into the profession we know today.
Nursing consists of four metaparadigms which is the conceptual framework of the
nursing theories. (Cruz, n.d.) The four metaparadigms are Person, Environment,
Health and Nursing. Person refers to the recipient of the nursing care, which in most
cases is the actual patient, but in many cases also includes the family of the patient.
Environment refers to the surroundings that affect the patient, whether it is the

Now, at the beginning of a new century, what problems have been fixed? Illiteracy is
still high, American standards are still low, and graduates are still unprepared. Each
generation feels that schools are worse than the generation before. America has been
attempting to solve the problems with its education system for 200 years, but nothing
has changed.
According to Rothstein:
Schools are not up to the task of readying young people for the challenges of the next
century. An apparently watered down curriculum ensures that all students, regardless
of whether they have mastered necessary skills, can graduate. Social promotion
without requirements to master grade appropriate skills is now commonplace, so
even elite colleges must run remedial courses for freshmen in basic math and
literacy, and business executives complain that high school graduates are ill prepared
for even relatively unskilled jobs (2).
Are these complaints not the same ones that appeared a century ago? Improvement is
desperately needed, but where should it start? Cleveland, Milwaukee, and the state of
Florida have suggested an answer: a school voucher system. Voucher proponents
believe that the system which they support is a starting place. Voucher proponents
across the nation believe that through this program, which places the burden of
improvement upon schools, progress can be made.
The voucher system
America In The Early 20th Century
During the early 1900 s the United States was already familiar with sending their
troops overseas to claim new territory. America has never been afraid to show
authority and invade land, it s a tactic the United States government has perfected
over the past 120 years. When the U.S. sees other nations becoming empires they
want to join in on the action. Any government that takes overseas possession has
an obligation to the people but it doesn t always go as planned. When a country
gains power and becomes a world superpower no one can stop them from
conquering territory. History as we know it would all change on February 20, 1896
when Senator Henry Cabot Lodge called for the United Statesto intervene in a
rebellion happening in Cuba. This brought up a lot of controversy on what we
should do as a country. One side argued that it was necessary for the U.S. as a nation

Nail Gun Research Paper
The power that a nail gun has comes from the compressed air which is delivered by
a hose from an air compressor. Nail guns themselves can cause injuries, but so can
the force of the air from the compressor. An air compressor is not a toy and serious
injury can occur. The pressure from the air can cause internal ruptures, blindness, and
broken skinto the body of the recipient. According to Tony Ferraro, who writes a
Blog on Compressed Air Safety, just 12 pounds of compressed air can easily blow
an eye right out of an eye socket. Tony also notes that people can suffer an injury if a
hose is damaged and unknowingly pressurized. It can explode outward resulting in
injury to the user and also to bystanders. Additionally, the physical surroundings...

It allows it s user to bring back the firing pin, which in turn drives a nail with
compressed air out of the nail gun. There are a few different types of nail gun
trigger types. One type is the full sequential trigger which leads to a more safe
form of nail gun. It will only work when the safety tip is compressed and the trigger
is then pulled. The nail gun will not fire unless it is done in this order. For using
this form of nail gun these steps must be followed each time one applies any nail,
single or multiple. Another type is the contact trigger. A contact trigger is similar
to a full sequential trigger, in both the safety tip and the trigger must be pressed in
order to fire a nail, except these can be done in any order. This type is commonly
used for applying numerous nails because the user may hold down the trigger and
move the gun. Then each time the safety tip is compressed, a nail will be fired.
Next we have the single sequential trigger. A single sequential trigger must have
the safety tip compressed and then have the trigger pulled, but to do more than one
nail the user only has to press the trigger again. This action must be done in order
for a nail to be fired. And finally there is a Single Action Trigger which must have
the safety tip compressed and the trigger pulled in any order to fire a nail. The user
may compress the tip or pull the trigger first to fire this

book, I stopped to ask my cousin a few questions to see if he was understanding and
perhaps relating to how the character handles his anger. My cousin agreed with the
character in the book that when he is angry he feels like a volcano wanting to

This poem grabbed my attention because I was engaged while reading it the whole

felt like they were dangerous, maybe a little foreboding at times, but instead the
feeling of the traveler and his horse were welcomed there by the similarities to the

Healthcare System in Great Britain
Health Care System in Great Britain
Organization of health care in Great Britain
Health care in the United Kingdom is devolved depending states: other states like
Scotland and Northern Ireland are separate entities and do not form part of the UK
medical healthcare system. The states have their own private and public sectors of
health care to the people. Devolution stretches to every activity that is concerned with
delivering of health care facilities and personalities required that serve the citizens.
The model of offering health care among the citizens of the United Kingdom is
different from those of other states like Wales and Scotland. Moreover, the policies
and strategies of health care are different between the United Kingdom and other
states.
Great Britain stands on its own as a separate entity that ensures the citizens of the
federal government have accessed equitable health care services. The payments of
the health care services offered by the states go all the citizens is catered for by the
general taxation body within the federal government. Every state has a private health
care centre that is smaller than the public health care sector. The private health care
provisions are provided by the private sector through direct funding by the patient or
through taxation accruals in cases where the patient suffers complicated cases like
AIDS/HIV (Dewar, 2010).
The United Kingdom was ranked as the fifth best in the world by the world health
organization. This
Nietzsche Dionysis Essay
What method does Nietzsche use to become the Dionysian Overman? What
perspective on life does the Overman adopt? How does it enable amor fati and
express optimum Yes saying to our present natural life in the world? How does this
overcome slave morality or religion ? Nietzsche uses acceptance of fate, its
obstacles, adversity and also its divinity to become the Dionysian Overman. He
believes by affirming life in both its cruelty and beauty that we can achieve joy in the
present without the need for beliefs in an afterlife or future existences. Nietzsche
states the Overman holds a love for natural life, with no grudges or sense of

This is because, The child is innocen[t]...a new beginning... the spirit now wills its

(Hollingdale trans., Penguin, pg 55.) Now with a mindset free from societal
pressure and preconceived ideals one may become overman and go forth with a
joyful perspective on life. The Overman adopts the perspective that beauty, cruelty,
happiness and sadness despite their definitional differences are to be appreciated
all the same. He explains that it is the obstacles in life that spurn the greatest
happiness, it is explained in this Chinese Proverb: The flower that blooms in
adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all. Nietzsche believes that as there is
no adversity in Heaven there can be no such beautiful flowers blooming there

There is hence no chance to adopt a Dionysian perspective and be at one with all of
what is natural, to thence be able to find true Dionysian virtue. This virtue lies in the
acceptance of all that is pleasurable and painful. It then brings happiness as Nietzsche
argues that vice sprouts from disaffection...resentment, spite, from the...lack of inner
power and its joy . As the Overman can hold no sense of resentment, or grudge and

How Does Jane Austen Present Relationships In Persuasion
Persuasion is the last novel written by Jane Austen, published in 1817. Like every
other piece of work she has created, Persuasion is a romance. While there are many
characters in this novel, the main love affair is between Anne Elliot and Captain
Wentworth. These two were once in love, but persuasion by a person dear to Anne,
lead her to end her courtship with Captain Wentworth. Once that fling came to a halt,
he tried to move on and courted himself with Louise Musgrove. Austen s novels
would be nothing without the courtships that she creates between her characters.
Courtships are what essentially make an Austen novelso spectacular. Anne Elliot is

While Anne has come to terms with what happened, she does not regret so much
listening to Lady Russell. Anne explains to Captain Wentworth, I have been
thinking over the past, and trying to impartially to judge of the right and wrong, I
mean with regard to myself; and I must believe that I was right, much as I suffered
from it, that I was perfectly right in being guided by the friend whom you will love
better than you do now. To me, she was in the place of a parent. Do not mistake
me, however. I am not saying that she did not err in her advice. It was perhaps one
of those cases in which advice is good or bad only as the event decides; and for
myself, I certainly never should, in any circumstance of tolerable similarity, give
such advice (253). She brings up this idea that Lady Russell was playing the role of a
parent when she was giving Anne the advice to not go forward with her engagement
with Captain Wentworth. A parent of a high status would want nothing less than that
for their child. Especially for a daughter. Although Anne was able to look beyond the
superficial aspects to Captain Wentworth, the two people whose word means the

Marlow And Mr. Kurtz In Joseph Conrad s Heart Of
Darkness
In Heart of Darkness, a frame story narrative written by Joseph Conrad, readers
follow a man named Charles Marlow as he travels to the heart of a jungle in Congo
searching for a mysterious man named Mr. Kurtz. Readers can infer that Marlow
and Mr. Kurtz are very similar to each other; Marlow is the man who Mr. Kurtz
was and could have continued to be, and Mr. Kurtz is the man who Marlow could
have become if he introduced darkness into his heart and followed in Mr. Kurtz s
footsteps. When the readers are first introduced to Marlow, the narrator of the
story presented him as a wise man, he was even described as Buddha like, aged by
his many nautical adventures this wisdom is most likely a direct result of his
wicked and grueling adventures in the dark heart of the Congo jungle. Marlow
goes into detail about how he would study maps as a child and how one day he
would like to travel to the biggest, the most blank, so to speak [spot on the map]
that [he] had a hankering after (page 4). He then talked about how he got an
interview, and eventually a position, at a company going on an expedition to the
Congo. It is revealed that as a young man, Mr. Kurtz also wanted to travel to Africa
with the intent of humanizing, improving, [and] instructing the natives (page 52). As
he became more power hungry, he began to have the natives treat him like a god.
The comparison of Marlow to a Buddha and Mr. Kurtz as a god is also fascinating.

Ancient Kingship and Rulers Essay
Kings and rulers started to emerge as soon as people moved away from living in
tribes. This was the case with the Jews when they have decided to unite under one
ruler. However, long before them the first empire was established in Mesopotamia
by Sargon of Akkad in 2334 BCE (Kelly, 2011). The essay will compare kingship in
three geographically and chronologically different societies. They are the following:
Babylonians during Hammurabi s reign (1792 1750 BCE), Neo Assyrians (934 610
BCE), and the Jews (1000 BCE). In order to avoid historical distortions, primary
sources from those time periods will be used. These three communities have
influenced each other in different fields. Therefore, we can see similarities in their
ruling systems.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Advice to a Prince, gods only could judge and punish the ruler,
for example, if he (ruler) takes silver... Marduk, lord of Heaven and Earth, will set
his foes upon him... (Sanders, p.70). Consequently, we can assume that ruler s
power have increased enormously, since no matter what he does (even despotism)
is supposed to be controlled by gods. Finally, the kingship in Israel has some
differences as Jews are monotheistic. Nonetheless, the Jews believed in god s
involvement in daily life as well. More importantly, god (Yahweh) was believed to
decide who the king is and whether he must be changed (Sanders, p.72). This shows
some parallels with Assyrians where gods only could judge the ruler. As a result, it
is seen that regardless of regions and number of gods (monotheism or polytheism)
rulers in ancient times were connected with divine power. In fact, at ancient times
rulers often represented the choice of god(s), whereas presently they represent the
choice of people. This, I think, led to more fearful and respectful attitude towards
rulers due to their divine support. In addition to the connection with the divine
power, rulers in ancient world had one very distinct feature. Almost always rulers
were men, with very few exceptions. Thus it is clearly seen that people at that time
lived in patriarchal society. Moreover, rulers promoted patriarchy implicitly or
sometimes even explicitly through their rules. For example, according to
Government Differences In The Government Of Rome And
Rome
Rome had a government that was often in flux, as different challenges were faced
throughout the reign of their empire. Carthage too had many ways that the
government was organized and built upon. Rome and Carthage, however, had vast
differences in their style of governance as well. In the following short paragraphs,
Rome and Carthage s governmentdifferences will be discussed. First, the Roman
government shared some similarities to the Carthaginian government, however, there
were also many differences. The Roman government, on a very basic level was
different then the Carthaginian government. The Romans had a temporary dictator
that could be called on if needed when there was a crisis in terms of warfare. This
dictator could only be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The voting system was along tribal lines. There were also tribal assemblies that
decided on localized matters within the tribe. These had both rich and poor in
them. In this way, although not quite a democracy, more citizens were being heard
than in other countries or cities (Wasson 2017, Para. 10 12). This was how the
Roman government was set up. Second, the Carthaginian government had some
different practices from the Roman government. One of these practices was that
they did not have a temporary dictator like Rome had. Also, the Senate in Carthage
does seem to have had legislative power. They also had to agree with their two
magistrates running the country about a certain decision or they had to pass the
vote on to the popular assembly. Many of the responsibilities of the Senate also
focused heavily on war (Cartwright, 2016, Para. 2 4). There were also special
Senate members who were the magistrates or the ones making and analyzing the
laws. Almost all positions were only available in terms of ruling for a short time.
This was an attempt to curb corruption, although, it did not help as much as had
been hoped (Cartwright, 2016, Para. 5 7). In terms of the Assembly, all that is
known about it is that people had to be citizens and male to join, and their main
responsibilities were to vote on laws among other items that were passed down to
them from the senate and the magistrates. They also helped elect some of the
positions in the government. Carthage
How Did The Puritan Lifestyle Influence The Life
The Puritan lifestyle greatly influenced the political, economic, and social
development of the New England colonies from 1630 throughout the 1660s. The
Puritan lifestyle was greatly focused around religion, their ideas about
predestination, and God s will. The reason New England was originally settled was
for religious reasons. Many people of Englandwere being persecuted for their beliefs,
so refuge was sought in the Americas. The Puritans believed that their lives were
meant for God and believed that whether they were going to heaven was already
determined (predestination). The original settlers tried to live without sin and
believed strongly against Catholic rituals, including the Anglican Church. Document
J, written by John Higginson in 1662, recognizes that the original reason for
settlement in the New England colonies was not for trade but rather for God. The
colonists purpose meant that they were not a society based on money and gaining
wealth, but more focused on their Creator and each other. Document B, a colonial
town map of New England shows the close knit society in the Puritantowns. As they
were built on family and God, the church was at the center of town, and houses
were near to each other. Family owned farms were numerous because colonists used
subsistence farming instead of farming for cash crops as their purpose was not to
obtain or increase their wealth. Similar to the way colonists in New England believed
their wealth, and lack thereof, was
Example Of Observation Of Basketball
For my second observation I went back to my elementary school from when I was
younger and observed a second grade physical education class and their teacher
Mrs. McFarland. It was a rainy day so the lesson was held in the cafeteria. I
observed Mrs. McFarland teach the first lesson of basketball to her class, before
class she told me that this would be the first lesson of a 6 part lesson. When the
students walked into the cafeteria they immediately sat down in their assigned spots
on the floor, Mrs. McFarland stood up at the front of the room by the stage area and
all the students. When all the students were seated Mrs. McFarland gave a very brief
explanation on what the students would be doing that day and then they started with
a warm up. During the warm up the students started out galloping around the room to
music and when the music stop she would shout of jumping jacks and the students
would do jumping jacks until the music came back on. They did this warm up for
about 5 minutes and then went back to their spots and sat down. Mrs. McFarland
went back to the front of the cafeteria and began to talk to the students about what
they would be doing. She gave a demonstration of the triple threatposition and then
asked the students some questions about what they saw her just do. Next, she had the
children grab their our balls and come back to their spotso that they could practice
some ballhandling drills. They used their finger tips to ping pong the ball from hand
to hand,
Treatments for Depression
Different types of depression require a variety of treatments, with mild or
moderate, a change in lifestyle could be all that is needed, for severe depression,
psychotherapy and medication may be necessary. First, spirituality enhances our
mood in many ways, an example being the calming effects when one meditates.
Feelings of connectedness to other people, and asking questions about our
existence and purpose give our life meaning. Practices such as prayer, yoga and
meditation can all relax the body and mind, lift the mood, and provide relief.
Alternative medicine such as aromatherapy and using of essential oils can lift ones
spirit and relax an aggravated mood. A long walk in nature, away from busy streets
and cloud gazing can provide relief from a busy lifestyle. We are the quality of our
thoughts, and usually if we think bad, bad is what we get. In shamanic societies if
you asked a medicine person why you felt depressed or disheartened they would
ask, When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop
being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in silence? Our
illusion of control keeps us unconscious to the many ups and downs of external
reality, which we have no control over, but we do have control of our inner voice.
The Latin word for spirit is breath, so maybe all we need to is just breathe, and
know that everything is unfolding as it should and we are right where we need to be
in this very moment. In our jobs we can
Artificial Intelligence Bias
The last hundred years has seen incredible advances in what technology can do,
and now influence every part of our day. Many books and movies are built around
a theme of the dangers of technology becoming more intelligent than humans and
turning against us, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the Terminator franchise.
But will artificial intelligence ever be advanced enough to turn against us? Perhaps
not as a robot; artificial intelligence is already being used to shape our actions, from
what we buy to who we vote for. Artificial intelligence learns from the data it is
provided and finds patterns and connections. Since this data is provided by us
humans, it learns not only facts, but also picks up our biases and prejudices. A

William Shakespeare s Measure For Measure
Name Tutor Course Date Power and Greed In any given society power and greed
are often noted as societal factors that tend to exist together such that one of them
influences the other. In William Shakespeare s play, Measure for Measure the two
concepts have been clearly depicted through Lord Angelo and the Duke s action of
using their power to win the love of Claudio s sister, Isabella. Based on the theme
of this play, one can argue that leaders sometimes use their power to influence the
lives of others or control a particular agenda. It is represented through Lord Angelo
who uses his manipulative nature for personal gratification with Isabella, revealing
the positive and negative characteristics of his character and exposing the truth of
human nature. The paper discusses the concept of authority and greed to
understand how people in authority use their power to fulfill their personal desires
by taking advantage of their position or authority. Leaders in power use their
authority and power for personal gain and attaining of fame. In many given
societies it can be argued that those in power uses their power and authority to
manipulate the law and attain popularity from a particular group. It is clearly
demonstrated and argued that they don t apply the law equally and with justice
instead given race or people are favored by that law and others punished using
similar law. When those in power makes mistakes, it has always been hard for them
to be prosecuted by law. In
Roman Military Tactics Essay
Roman Military Life Tactics By: Nathanael Delivuk The Roman army was very
skilled in sieges, fighting styles/fighting formations and marching orders. Some of
these tactics are still used widely today by the US army. But what made all of these
tactics so useful to a modern army,? Kkeep reading to find out. In ancient warfare
open battles were commonly used but sometimes the defender took a stand in a
well fortified city. Whenever an army decided to siege their enemies it took a lot
of money, time, and men, so it was the least used option to attack an enemy. The
Romans through time copied and improved the artillery weapons used by the
Greeks, but they didn t use them in open combat. , Iinstead they were reserved for
siege warfare in order to pound the fortifications of cities and strike terror into the
defenders. Instead of using horsehair for their siege engines they used animal
sinews( a piece of tissue that holds the bones together) which were stronger and
could throw rocks farther and with more power. The Romans were a little slow to
employ the towers that the Hellenistic kingdoms had perfected. They made changes,
making their own towers smaller and more manoeuvrable. The towers also became
more useful carrying weapons in them. The Romans added battering rams, a
boarding bridge, and fighting platforms which could carry both men and artillery.
Towers had wheels so that they could be constructed at a safe distance from the city
and then moved closer

Soraya s Moral Development
Soraya s Moral Development
Soraya Taheri is one of Khaled Hosseini s characters in The Kite Runner, who
represents what a true woman and wife should be like. She is an example of
Kohlberg s classification of three levels of moral development in humans. Even
though there is not a lot of information in the novel given about Soraya, her
personality can be reviewed based on her behavior throughout the story.
The reader first meets with Soraya in chapter 11, when she is working at a flea
market. Her obedience to her father General Taheri can be referred to the Pre
Conventional Morality, stage 1: Obedience and Punishment Orientation. Because this
stage involves fixed beliefs of a child that hisher authority is always right, Soraya s

Here, Soraya wears traditional Afghan dress and follows the rules accordingly. She
sees this as more than simple deal, since marriage in Afghanistan is an important
event. Her good behaviour is visible during the time she spends with Amir s father
when he lies in bed, sick:
Soraya dedicated herself to taking care of my father. She made his toast and tea in
the morning, and helped him in and out of bed. She gave him his pain pills,
washed his clothes, read him the international section of the newspaper every
afternoon, She cooked his favourite dish, potato shorwa, though he could scarcely
eat more than a few spoonfuls, and took him out every day for a brief walk around
the block. And when he became bedridden, she turned him on his side every hour so
he wouldn t get a bedsore. (172)
Soraya takes care of Amir s father, even though no one asked her to do this.
According to Kohlberg, person at this stage has good motives and interpersonal
feelings, such as love, trust, empathy and concern for others, which is exactly what
Soraya shows in this passage. Another time when this level is evident is when Soraya
tells Amir how she taught an illiterate woman how to read and write:
When I was in fourth grade in Kabul, my father hired a woman

Essay about Primary Education in Uganda
Primary Education in Uganda A Policy Analysis
Over the past five years, Uganda s education system has proved both effective and
successful. Although in the process of further development, it has nonetheless served
as a model for many developing African countries. The Ugandan government, with
President Yoweri Museveni at its forefront, has determined primary education to be
one of the major channels toward poverty eradication and as a vital resource for
economic and social development. The Ugandan government has made a national
commitment to eradicate illiteracy and educate its citizens through the 1997
initiative, Universal Primary Education (UPE). All levels of government, the private
sector, grass root organizations, local and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a consequence, policy was adopted that would better Uganda s financial position,
which led to an emphasis of secondary and higher education in order to fill the
demand for high level manpower. (Bell, p. 4) The emphasis soon changed as it was
realized by the Commission of Education in Uganda in 1965 that the content and
structure of primary school education should also be geared toward meeting the
economic needs of the country. P. Beghin wrote in Recent Trends in Primary
Education Policy in Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, primary education is no longer
regarded as a mere preparation to secondary and higher education. Primary school is,
in the view of the Syllabus, a terminal education for a part of the pupils, which at
present is actually the majority of them. (1968, pg. 6) From this time, documented
Ugandan education policy on issues such as instructional language, examinations, and
scientific literacy was expanded and reformed to include primary education.
During the political turmoil of the 1970s and 1980s when leadership changed hands,
the education system suffered, yet functionally operated by relying on local and
regional based administrators and nation wide standardization. (Upenn Sas) As the
political situation settled in Uganda, education became the new hot topic and was
regarded as an issue of international development. President Yoweri Museveni and the
National Resistance Movement Government, initiated a review of education policy

  • 1. Easy Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "Easy Essays" may initially seem like a straightforward task, given the seemingly simplistic nature of the subject. However, delving into the intricacies of this theme poses a unique set of challenges. The paradox lies in the oxymoronic nature of the topic itself. While the notion of an "easy essay" suggests simplicity and minimal effort, crafting an essay on this subject requires a delicate balance. The challenge lies in avoiding the risk of creating a superficial piece that undermines the essence of thoughtful and well-constructed writing. Attempting to explore the concept of "Easy Essays" forces one to navigate the fine line between maintaining simplicity and delivering meaningful content. Striking this balance becomes a test of one's ability to engage the audience without succumbing to the temptation of oversimplification. The challenge lies not only in presenting information in an accessible manner but also in ensuring that the substance of the essay remains substantial and intellectually satisfying. Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the potential paradoxical interpretations of the term "easy." Does it refer to the ease of comprehension, the simplicity of the writing process, or the casual nature of the subject matter? Juggling these different facets can complicate the writing process, requiring careful consideration to avoid confusion and maintain coherence. In essence, composing an essay on "Easy Essays" demands a nuanced approach. The writer must navigate through layers of meaning, ensuring that the essay reflects both simplicity and depth. Striking this delicate balance may prove challenging, but it offers a unique opportunity to explore the nuances of communication and the art of conveying ideas effectively. In conclusion, writing an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "Easy Essays" presents a complex challenge. It requires the author to navigate the paradox inherent in the subject, delicately balancing simplicity and substance. Crafting such an essay demands a thoughtful approach to ensure that the final piece is not only accessible but also intellectually satisfying. Easy Essays Easy Essays
  • 2. The Reformation And Martin Luther And The Protestant... The Reformation, also called Protestant Reformation. It is the religious revolution that took place in the Western church in the 16th century. Its greatest leaders undoubtedly were Martin Luther and John Calvin. Having reached political economic, and social effects, the Reformation became the basis for the founding of Protestantism, one of the three major branches of Christianity. The movement began by Martin Luther when he made his dramatic stand quickly spread across Europe. Within a short amount of time, new forms of religious practices, doctrines, and organizations, including Zwinglianism, Calvinism, Anabaptism, and Anglicanism, were attracting adherents all over Europe (spielvogel 366). Although it seemed very helpless to stop the new Protestant churches, the Catholic churchalso underwent a reformation and manage to revive its fortunes by the mid 16th century. Very soon the doctrine divisions between Protestants and Catholics led to a series of religious wars that dominated the history of western Europe in the second half of the 16th century. The Reformation was not unprecedented. Martin Luther claimed that what had distinguished him from previous reformers was that while they attacked corruption in the life of the church, he went to the theological root of the problem. World War I, also called the First World War or Great War. It was an international conflict that in 1914 18 embroiled most of the nations of Europe along with Russia, the United States, the Middle
  • 3. Masculinity Essay Part A: Bronies and the Social Construction of Masculinity According to Connell, there are four masculinities present in our society: hegemonic, complicit, marginalized, and subordinate. Hegemonic masculinity is the dominant form of masculinity in society. It is culturally valued as the most type of masculinity. Connell states that the qualities of hegemonic masculinity include heterosexuality, whiteness, physical strength, and suppression of emotions. When men do not fit the characteristics of hegemonic masculinity but they do not challenge it means they belong to the complicit masculinity category. These men often admire the characteristics of hegemonic masculinity. Marginalized masculinity is when men cannot fit into the hegemonic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bronies experience gender policing by family, friends, and the media. Gender policing is the responses to the violation of gender rules aimed at promoting conformity (Wade 355). In the film Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony, some Bronies could tell their stories about telling their friends and family and how other peers viewed them when they came out as a Brony. Lyle told his story about his Brony journey. One day Lyle asked his mother what she would think if he liked the show My Little Pony, and she said she would be worried about him so he played it off as a joke. He felt his own mother would not accept the fact that he liked the show. He did not want his father to ever find out because he did not want his dad to think he was gay or a man child. He did not want his parents to view him differently all because he liked a show aimed for younger girls. Alex was another guy from the video sharing his story. Alex lives in a place where a people believe that if a guy is not masculine that means they are homosexual. Alex was bullied at a gas station because he had pony decals on his car. The guy who bullied Alex about his car smashed his back window where the decals were at. Then the guy playfully pointed a gun at Alex and told him to stop with the gay girly shit. The media only criticizes Bronies by calling them weird, gay, creepy, pedophiles, disgusting, feminine, etc. Bronies face
  • 4. The Four Culture Types Consists Of Two Dimensions The two by two matrix that Cameron and Quinn use to describe the four culture types consists of two dimensions. The first dimension differentiates effectiveness criteria that emphasizes flexibility, discretion, and dynamism from criteria that emphasizes stability, order, and control. This just means that some organizations are viewed as effective if they are able to change rapidly whereas others are viewed effective if they are stable. The other dimensions differentiates effectiveness based on whether or not they are internally oriented or if they if they are externally oriented. Thus saying that some companies are viewed as effective if they are focused on harmonious internal operations for example IBM. Whereas, other are deemed effective if they are focused on competition with outsiders such as Honda. The two dimensions above then are able to create four distinct organizational culturetypes: clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market. The clan culture became popular after Japan s success after WWII. Some typical characteristics in clan culture are teamwork, and corporate commitment to employees. The basic assumptions include: customers are best thought of as partners, the environment can best be managed through teamwork and employee development and more. They are typified by a friendly place to work where people share a lot of themselves and where success is defined in terms of internal climate and concern for people. The Adhocracy culture is one in which is typified by its

  • 6. The Sun Rising The Sun Rising is a poem written by John Donne in the late 1590s consisting of 30 lines divided into three stanzas of 10 lines each following the rhyme scheme ABBACDCDEE. John Donne was a leading English poet of the Metaphysical school often considered as the greatest love poet in the English language. If we take into account the rhymes of each stanza, we may note that within a stanza, three units are being proposed : first of all the first unit of the stanza is composed of introverted rhymes following the rhymescheme ABBA, then the second unit of the stanza is composed of alternate rhymes following the rhyme scheme CDCD, finally the last unit is a couplet with the rhyme scheme EE. The poem is generally iambic but the pattern is occasionally broken by the poet to mark style effects as well as the meters that are irregular, moreover Donne uses many archaisms throughout his poem. The poem humanizes the sun by personifying it from the first line : busy old fool , as an old man with duties to perform : shine on the world and awaken the earthlings in the morning. I sat in my bunk listening to my buddies talk amongst themselves about the crappy weather and the war. They chatted about the normal things; all of them wanting to finally get home and be dry, but all of them knowing that it would not happen any time soon. As I sat there in my hard cot, my minddrifted off to the fond memories of home in Iowa. I remember my sister and my two brothers and recall the great times we had together. I can still picture the looks on the faces of my family as I left them that day and also the face of my dear wife, Chris. Life, however, didn t stop with me and the time before being brought in for the first round of training came by like a rocket. There was hardly anytime to blink prior to the first day of training. Training was a very hard and rough experience, especially, due to the fact I was not a good runner. I can still faintly feel the in my arms from the numerous pushups and physical activities that we endured. Beyond the physical pain, came the mental and emotional strain of getting ready for a war. I was only 19 years old at the time and had not really had a chance to grow up. So I had to quickly learn how to be self sufficient and learn how to take orders in order to survive. It started with humble beginnings, and popped on the scene and not only reinvented the way we watch movies at home, but took over the industry. In this case I will analyze the Video On Demand or VOD industry using Porter s Five Forces Model and conduct a SWOT analysis on Netflix. I will also discuss why Netflix has been so successful, what their competitive advantages are, some of my personal recommendations, and finally any strategic advantages CEO Reed Hastings should pursue on the future. Using Porter s Five Forces Model I am going to analyze the VOD industry, Porter s model is made up of economic powers of customers, economic power of suppliers, direct competitors, potential competitors, and finally firms that offer substitutes. In the VOD industry I believe the customer have a high economic power. The top three streaming services in the industry are, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video Services. If the customer deems the price too high they can simply leave, and because customers aren t required to sign a contact they can simply stop services. Which will cause the number of users to fall and profits to decrease as well. Next in Porter s model is economic power of suppliers. The industry as a whole is very large, Netflix had 76 million users in 2016, Amazon had 44 million in 2015, and Hulu had 9 million in 2015. The suppliers (Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu) don t have a huge power, across the board all three services are

Between the end of the Civil War and the early twentieth century, the United States underwent one of the most rapid and profound economic revolutions any country has ever experienced. There were numerous causes for this explosive economic growth. The country enjoyed abundant natural resources, a growing supply of labor, an expanding market for manufactured goods, and the availability of capital for investment. The uprising of big businesses, railroads, and factory transformed America from being based on small farm work into an industrial powerhouse. During the Second Industrial Revolution the role of big business in federal and state governments was a monumental turning point in the history of this country, setting a foundation which has come to play a big role in government policy today. In a time period where the American Government did not have a real system in place for becoming an elected official, a great portion of the government was corrupted by people put in place by owners of big businesses and in turn they agreed to pass laws or do other favors for their benefit. The fantastical element of super strength, uncanny agility, and web slinging exploits are paled in comparison to what lives in the heart of a hero according to comics. Superheroes, or supervillains, are not gods who come down from heaven to save or destroy us, though there are exceptions, but are instead the human spirit uplifted to a point of power. In comics, a hero is someone who does the right thing even if it is difficult, because they are, or should, be the best of us. Murders In The Rue Morgue The Murders in the Rue Morgue, written by Edgar Allan Poe in 1841 is considered to be the first true detective story ever written, and the influence for works such as Sherlock Holmes. The narrator and his friend C. Auguste Dupin, after finding out about an intriguing murder, find themselves trying to free an innocent man and find the real beast behind the murders in the rue morgue. Through Poe s use of symbolism and vivid imagery, the theme of the story is revealed as the struggle between the analytical, emotional, and imaginative. These items that are strewn across the house are red herrings. The reader thinks that they are important to finding out who committed the murder when in reality they are not. This conflicts us as readers, because what we are analyzing and what is in front of us is irrelevant, and we are forced to rely on our imagination or in this case, Dupins . Another example is the gruesome description of the murder victims, ...lay the corpse of the old lady, with her throat so entirely cut that, upon an attempt to raise her, the head fell off. This kind of spiritual pride further devalues both the men and women outside of monastic life. Ironically, the negative attitude towards sexuality associated with the brahmachariya life style might actually be viewed as a kind of reversed attachment to sexuality. After all, aren t we as attached to that which we try to suppress as we are to that in which we favor? But before evaluating the celibate life style in totally negative terms, we must remember that it is not the only side. The Buddha taught that as long as one is absorbed in sexual activity, one could not be interested in a practicing spiritual life. But when he gave his gradual enlightenment teaching, he also said that the sensation of lust, of sexuality, has pleasure. In this way he did not deny the pleasure. But then, that very pleasure turns into displeasure, and gradually, slowly, as the lust wears out, people begin to fight. Because out of lust arises fear, then greed, and soon anger, hatred, confusion and fighting; all these negative things arise from lust. And therefore these negative things are inherent in lust. Which is something any human being can confess to, there is a fine line between love and hate, and the same goes for lust. Whether you are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, is indifferent. Three of the main causes of math anxiety are: public exposure, the influence of teachers, and time deadlines (Curtain Phillips, 2017). Once the causes are fully understood, a method to overcome them can be created. Firstly, it is important to understand when someone is suffering from math anxiety. When Heracles brings Alcestis back after rescuing her from Death, she has lost the ability to speak for three days (Alc. 1142 1146). This action denies Alcestis of her agency in several ways. First, she was never able to actually finish dying to save her husband. By not being able to die, Alcestis never fully carried out the action that was going to give her agency and honor as a perfect wife. This is because Euripides let male characters make the decision that they would definitely sacrifice Iphigenia. As soon as Agamemnon found out that his daughter would have to be sacrificed so the Greeks would do well in the war, many men became involved. These men began to try and plot if they should sacrifice Iphigenia and if they were to go about saving her, how they should do so. As Christina Sorum points out, Iphigenia perpetuates the patriotic theme introduced by her father (541). Had Agamemnon never found out that it was prophesized that his daughter should be sacrificed in order for the Greeks to be successful, Iphigenia would have never had the opportunity to make the decision to willingly die. Without this decision, Iphigenia would have never been presented with the opportunity to gain any

Randolph NURS 3201 Professional Nursing Concepts Mrs. Pautler July 9, 2017 Nursing Theory According to the American Nurses Association, Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. (American Nurses Association, n.d.) Each professional nursing organization has their own definition of what nursing is. However, there is not one universal definition for nursing. Nursing is an ever changing and growing profession, from the times of Florence Nightingale in the Crimean war with minimal education and the days of very little critical thinking on the nurse s part, to the current days of focus on education and learning and a nurse who leads the care of her patients. From the beginning, nursing leaders developed theories which shaped and developed nursing into the profession we know today. Nursing consists of four metaparadigms which is the conceptual framework of the nursing theories. (Cruz, n.d.) The four metaparadigms are Person, Environment, Health and Nursing. Person refers to the recipient of the nursing care, which in most cases is the actual patient, but in many cases also includes the family of the patient. Environment refers to the surroundings that affect the patient, whether it is the

Now, at the beginning of a new century, what problems have been fixed? Illiteracy is still high, American standards are still low, and graduates are still unprepared. Each generation feels that schools are worse than the generation before. America has been attempting to solve the problems with its education system for 200 years, but nothing has changed. According to Rothstein: Schools are not up to the task of readying young people for the challenges of the next century. An apparently watered down curriculum ensures that all students, regardless of whether they have mastered necessary skills, can graduate. Social promotion without requirements to master grade appropriate skills is now commonplace, so even elite colleges must run remedial courses for freshmen in basic math and literacy, and business executives complain that high school graduates are ill prepared for even relatively unskilled jobs (2). Are these complaints not the same ones that appeared a century ago? Improvement is desperately needed, but where should it start? Cleveland, Milwaukee, and the state of Florida have suggested an answer: a school voucher system. Voucher proponents believe that the system which they support is a starting place. Voucher proponents across the nation believe that through this program, which places the burden of improvement upon schools, progress can be made. The voucher system

The nail gun will not fire unless it is done in this order. For using this form of nail gun these steps must be followed each time one applies any nail, single or multiple. Another type is the contact trigger. A contact trigger is similar to a full sequential trigger, in both the safety tip and the trigger must be pressed in order to fire a nail, except these can be done in any order. This type is commonly used for applying numerous nails because the user may hold down the trigger and move the gun. Then each time the safety tip is compressed, a nail will be fired. The essay will compare kingship in three geographically and chronologically different societies. They are the following: Babylonians during Hammurabi s reign (1792 1750 BCE), Neo Assyrians (934 610 BCE), and the Jews (1000 BCE). In order to avoid historical distortions, primary sources from those time periods will be used. These three communities have influenced each other in different fields. (Sanders, p.70). Consequently, we can assume that ruler s power have increased enormously, since no matter what he does (even despotism) is supposed to be controlled by gods. Finally, the kingship in Israel has some differences as Jews are monotheistic. Nonetheless, the Jews believed in god s involvement in daily life as well. More importantly, god (Yahweh) was believed to decide who the king is and whether he must be changed (Sanders, p.72). This shows some parallels with Assyrians where gods only could judge the ruler. As a result, it is seen that regardless of regions and number of gods (monotheism or polytheism) rulers in ancient times were connected with divine power. In fact, at ancient times rulers often represented the choice of god(s), whereas presently they represent the choice of people. This, I think, led to more fearful and respectful attitude towards rulers due to their divine support. In addition to the connection with the divine power, rulers in ancient world had one very distinct feature. Almost always rulers were men, with very few exceptions. Thus it is clearly seen that people at that time lived in patriarchal society. Moreover, rulers promoted patriarchy implicitly or sometimes even explicitly through their rules. Second, the Carthaginian government had some different practices from the Roman government. One of these practices was that they did not have a temporary dictator like Rome had. Also, the Senate in Carthage does seem to have had legislative power. Many of the responsibilities of the Senate also focused heavily on war (Cartwright, 2016, Para. 2 4). Many people of Englandwere being persecuted for their beliefs, so refuge was sought in the Americas. The Puritans believed that their lives were meant for God and believed that whether they were going to heaven was already determined (predestination). The original settlers tried to live without sin and believed strongly against Catholic rituals, including the Anglican Church. Treatments for Depression Different types of depression require a variety of treatments, with mild or moderate, a change in lifestyle could be all that is needed, for severe depression, psychotherapy and medication may be necessary. First, spirituality enhances our mood in many ways, an example being the calming effects when one meditates. Feelings of connectedness to other people, and asking questions about our existence and purpose give our life meaning. Practices such as prayer, yoga and meditation can all relax the body and mind, lift the mood, and provide relief. Alternative medicine such as aromatherapy and using of essential oils can lift ones spirit and relax an aggravated mood. A long walk in nature, away from busy streets and cloud gazing can provide relief from a busy lifestyle. We are the quality of our thoughts, and usually if we think bad, bad is what we get. In shamanic societies if you asked a medicine person why you felt depressed or disheartened they would ask, When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in silence? Our illusion of control keeps us unconscious to the many ups and downs of external reality, which we have no control over, but we do have control of our inner voice. (168 169) Here, Soraya wears traditional Afghan dress and follows the rules accordingly. She sees this as more than simple deal, since marriage in Afghanistan is an important event. Her good behaviour is visible during the time she spends with Amir s father when he lies in bed, sick: Soraya dedicated herself to taking care of my father. She made his toast and tea in the morning, and helped him in and out of bed. She gave him his pain pills, washed his clothes, read him the international section of the newspaper every afternoon, She cooked his favourite dish, potato shorwa, though he could scarcely eat more than a few spoonfuls, and took him out every day for a brief walk around the block. And when he became bedridden, she turned him on his side every hour so he wouldn t get a bedsore. (172) Soraya takes care of Amir s father, even though no one asked her to do this. According to Kohlberg, person at this stage has good motives and interpersonal feelings, such as love, trust, empathy and concern for others, which is exactly what Soraya shows in this passage. Another time when this level is evident is when Soraya tells Amir how she taught an illiterate woman how to read and write: When I was in fourth grade in Kabul, my father hired a woman

Primary school is, in the view of the Syllabus, a terminal education for a part of the pupils, which at present is actually the majority of them. (1968, pg. 6) From this time, documented Ugandan education policy on issues such as instructional language, examinations, and scientific literacy was expanded and reformed to include primary education.
