Essay On Responsibility
Crafting an essay on the concept of responsibility can be both challenging and rewarding.
Responsibility is a multifaceted theme that requires a thoughtful exploration of various
dimensions. To begin with, defining responsibility itself can be a task, as it encompasses
personal, social, and ethical aspects. The complexity arises from the fact that responsibility is not
a one-size-fits-all concept; it varies across cultures, professions, and individual beliefs.
Moreover, delving into the philosophical and psychological aspects of responsibility adds another
layer of intricacy. It involves an examination of moral obligations, accountability, and the
interplay between individual choices and societal expectations. Balancing theoretical
perspectives with real-life examples and practical applications demands a nuanced approach.
Developing a coherent structure for the essay poses its own set of challenges. One must carefully
organize thoughts to present a logical progression of ideas. Addressing the topic comprehensively
while avoiding superficiality requires in-depth research and a thorough understanding of the
subject matter.
Expressing personal insights on responsibility can be daunting as well. It necessitates
introspection and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly. The challenge lies in striking a balance
between objectivity and subjectivity, offering a critical analysis without losing sight of one's own
perspective.
In conclusion, writing an essay on responsibility is a demanding task that demands intellectual
rigor, research skills, and the ability to navigate through the complexities of the topic. However,
overcoming these challenges can lead to a rich and insightful exploration of a fundamental
aspect of human behavior and societal dynamics.
If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, it's worth noting that assistance is
available. Services like HelpWriting.net offer support in crafting essays on a variety of topics,
including those related to responsibility. Professionals can provide guidance and deliver well-
researched, structured essays to help navigate the complexities of such subjects.

The Scope Of Customary International Law
Within the scope of customary international law, there are some varying norms that
the international law community must deal with, which are broken down into three
different categories from most important to least important: 1) norms in which the
international community allows no derogation, these are known as peremptory
norms or jus cogens, 2) norms that might allow for derogation, and 3) norms that aren
t binding but some might argue should be.
To classify these customary norms scholars use both state practice and opinio juris.
In order to determine state practice the states may look towards each other and how
they react in similar scenarios. One debate surrounding this area is determining how
many states need to sign off on an action to determine that sufficient state practice is
occurring. Two sides of the argument are the actual number states versus the
regionalization of the states. Opinio juris is defined as a state engaging in a certain
activity because they believe they are under legal obligation to act.
The idea of peremptory norms is older than modern international law itself (113). The
idea of peremptory norms stems from the belief that certain actions are so heinous
that derogation is not allowed. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties shows
the importance of peremptory norms in both Article 53 and 64. Article 53 states that
a treaty is void if, at the time of its conclusion, it conflicts with a peremptory norm.
Article 64 explains that treaties,
How Journalism Changed American Culture
What is journalism? Typically, a journalist is sent somewhere to investigate
information and provide breaking news. However, journalism does not always mean
epistolary. Film and the use of political figures were utilized as well. Journalism has
been in America for decades; starting with yellow journalism in the late 1800s, and
then transforming to muckraking in the early 1900s. These eras helped shape
journalism, but not nearly as well the 1910s did. Between 1910 1919, journalism
changed American culture and society through the rise of magazines, investigative
writing, and media use.
One method of transforming today s society was through the rise of magazines.
Magazines covered weekly gossip to political issues to racial inequality, and were
mainly used to gather local or national information. A ... Show more content on

Many newspapers sent their journalists to the battlefield to take pictures and recite
firsthand accounts. One writer, Floyd Gibbons, worked for The Chicago Tribune
and went to the ultimate extremes to obtain information. The only items Gibbons
could carry were a pencil and notebook because in the, international rules of war,
Floyd Gibbons, a noncombatant, could carry no arms (Gibbons). Because of this,
Gibbons lacked protection and was susceptible to injury. On June 6, 1918, Gibbons
headed to Belleau Wood with Lieutenant Hatzell and was planning on noting the
progression of the war. However, Gibbons and Hatzell found themselves in the midst
of the roughest and toughest battles of the entire war (Gibbons). Hatzell and
Gibbons wound up as targets for the German machine gunners. Hatzell received
injuries to his legs, while Gibbons was shot in the arm and eye. Both survived and
found medical attention hours later. Gibbons left with many injuries, and a top
selling story. By 1918, Floyd Gibbons had set the standard for investigative
journalists for years to come, including modern
Sexual Harassment In Hollywood
At the SAG awards on Sunday, many celebrities spoke out and showed support for
the anti sexual harassment movement called Time s up in Hollywood. Many
powerful and famous women in Hollywood supported the movement and used their
awards speech to address sexual harassment by sharing their own personal stories.
Other stars gave speeches to express how happy they are that people are standing with
them against sexual harassment. There is a lot of conversation happening now in
Hollywood about the movement, and many people agree with the movement s
purpose of ending sexual harassment. While a lot of men agree with the movement,
others like Constance Wu, star from Fresh Off the Boat, said the movement made
him very uncomfortable. Many women say they don t like how they are treated as
being inferior to men, and they are going to speak out against sexual harassment no
matter... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to the movement, you rarely heard about sexual harassment. But now since
women are speaking out against it, it is all over the news and social media, and so
you hear about it more often. Many women have been afraid to speak out and
share their story, but because of this movement more and more people are speaking
out. This movement might change the world forever! Women being treated
differently isn t anything new though, look back at the women s suffrage
movement. The women s suffrage movement was when women were trying to get
the right to vote. All white men in the 1820 s and 30s could vote and all men, no
matter their race or how much land they owned could vote in 1865. In 1848, the
first meeting for the fight for women s suffrage took place in Seneca Falls, New
York. The fight for women s suffrage took nearly 100 years for women to win the
right to vote. The 19th amendment to the US Constitution, which gave women the
right to vote was finally passed in
Environmental Effects Of Noise Pollution
Noise can be defined as unwanted sound1. Sounds which we deem as unwanted or
unnecessary are noise. Our environment is beset by noise, which is pervasive,
intrusive and ubiquitous as well as unhealthy. The effects of noise, a pollutant and its
effects on health have been neglected despite being aware of the ability to precisely
measure or calculate the exposure from the peak levels2. The effects of noise pollution
were first recognized in the occupational settings. In our environment, there are
different sources of noise, but they generally depend on the activity performed,
location and the time of the day3. In everyday life noise is pervasive, that can cause
both auditory and non auditory effects on the health. Noise is an audible acoustic
phenomenon that may or may not adversely affect the people. The effects of noise
can be physiologically as well as psychologically be appreciated. In occupational
settings noise induced hearingloss remains highly prevalent, which is increasingly
caused by social noise exposure for example personal music player. If the exposure
to noise remains chronic and exceeds certain level negative health outcomes are
seen. Health effects which were first recognized in an occupational setting were
through the weaving mills where the level of high noises was associated with
hearing loss2. Excess of noise exposure leads to annoyance, disturbed sleep, increase
in daytime sleepiness, decrease in patient outcome and staff performance in the
hospital, increase in physiological conditions like hypertension and cardiovascular
diseases, and impairment of the cognitive functioning of the school children.
Occupational noise is the most studied noise exposure. Researchers have now
broadened to social noise like those heard in bars or personal music players.
Environmental noise consists of all the unwanted noise that arise from our
environment rather than our workplace1. Environmental noise pollution is considered
a form of air pollution which causes a threat to the health and the well being of the
people living in the community. Noise pollution is a phenomenon that affects
everybody but is generally associated with the level of activity performed, the place
and the duration. Environmental noise
Jackie Robinson Monologue
My name is Jack Roosevelt Robinson. You may know me as Jackie Robinson. My
passion is baseball. I played in the Negro Leagues for a little while. Not long after
playing with the Negro Leagues I was chosen by Branch Rickey to help integrate
major league baseball and to play for the Montreal Royals. This is the start of
where history was made. It was opening day for spring training with the Montreal
Royals, there were lots of reporters waiting for me. Reporters asked questions like,
How do you think you will get along with the white players? and What will you do
if the pitcher throws the ball at your head? This was the day I began to experience
racism in the South. I was not wanted just because I was black. Mr. Rickey had plans

The Historical Context Of Palestine
As the depiction of certain historical facts serves the sole purpose of justifying the
importance of the historical context to the conflict, and not the merit of the events
themselves, the following are only a few, yet highly applicable ones to the matter
discussed. Briefly going back to ancient history, the region known today as
Palestine was first known as Canaan, which derived its name from a people who
inhabited it between 3000 1500 B.C. They were conquered by a greek people
known as Philistines and also Jews, one of the semitic peoples, in the years 1200
1100 B.C. A hundred years later Jews defeated both Philistines and Canaanites,
establishing Kingdom of Israel(Smith). This is important, because the first temple in
Jerusalem was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Islam expanded rampantly in the years 630 730 A.D., Jerusalem and Palestine
were incorporated into Islamic rule, exposing Jews to the Arab rule as well as
initiating the clash of religions that thrives to the present day. In A.D. 691, Dome of
the Rock, a Muslim temple memorating Muhammad s ascension to heaven was built
upon the ruins of the Jewish Temple, thus provoking the latter on the religious
grounds, and initiating an ongoing dispute, one of the most prominent in present day
Old City of Jerusalem (Smith).
Toward the end of the Ottoman rule (1516 1918) over Palestine, the situation there
began to destabilize, most notably following the Ottoman land reform law passed in
1867, which granted foreigners the right to own land if they agreed to pay taxes to
the Ottoman government. The aim of the law was to force foreigners to submit to
Ottoman jurisdiction in return for their investment in land in the empire. The ruling
is essential to the current ethnic plight in Palestine, as it was especially in that region,
that those regulations were applicated inconsistently, which opened the way for
extensive outside investment and led to numbers of Palestinians acquiring lands,
while giving them claim to fight the immigrants of the Zionist Movement (Tessler).
The modern Zionism dates back to the second half of the nineteenth century and
emerged from the nationalist upheaval as well as anti Jewish prejudice in both

Human Health And The Delivery Of Health Care Services
(...
Informatics as it relates to nursing can be defines as the science of how to use data,
information, and knowledge to improve human health and the delivery of health care
services (American Medical Informatics Association Inc., 2016). It includes the
ability to locate or generate data as well as the storage and sharing of said data.
Today, almost our entire society relies on technology in some form or another and
the healthcare field is no different. The culture of nursing has changed dramatically
over the past few decades; electronic charts and charting are still relatively new. I
graduated nursing school in 2006 and at that time, there was still a fair amount of
documentation done on paper. I have been able to watch the evolution of the way we
nurse adapt to the technology of today. Currently we almost depend on the computers
like a life line in the hospital nursing setting. Our patient s lab work, test results,
medication administration and information, history and more are all stored on the
computer. When we are unable to access the information necessary to provide
adequate care, it makes our jobs that much more difficult.
Many new systems have been developed over the last few years to help promote
patient safety. A few of those include CPOE (computerized provider order entry),
smart pumps which contain drug libraries with dosing parameters and safety
measures, patient armbands with a barcode specific to their account, and vital sign
machines and glucometers
Designing A Successful Web Advertising And Marketing...
Search engine marketing providers have increased in significance and there have
been a number of traits enveloping the market. Most web optimization corporations
are anticipated to know and perceive the algorithms created for serps, but solely few
are in a position to crack it with precision.
Some sites get extra guests than the others while some fail to get even some guests
depending on their online presence. It is the major job of an search engine
optimisation specialist to spice up the presence of the sites. The algorithms
determine if the positioning web page needs to be in the first page for a relevant
keyword. Natural search engine optimisation providers and results resolve the online
presence of a website to an important extent.
There are many steps to create a successful web advertising and marketing strategy
associated to natural search engine optimization providers which embrace several
content material management options, hyperlink building companies, articles, press
releases and directory postings for better web optimization placements. For lasting
visitors stream and enhanced conversion rates, seo works the best.
Article Submission is likely one of the greatest methods of organic search engine
optimization companies as articles supply a generic platform for linking again to the
main web site with out being blatantly promotional. The readers profit by getting a
generic insight into the market and in addition a related supplier of the services. The

Assignment 1: Human comfort within buildings Scenario A property developer is
converting an old railway station into retail and office accommodation. The client is
keen to make the working environment for the staff as comfortable as possible. As a
consultant, explain how this can be done by addressing the relevant grading criteria.
Introduction I will begin by trying to understand what the client is doing, and then I
will include a picture of the old railway station, but also a picture of what the client
hopes the offices and retail businesses will look like when they are completed
In this photograph we can see the old railway station, in which the client hopes to
convert into an office.
In this picture we can see what the client is aiming for their office to look like.
Task 1A
Identify the basic factors that will influence human comfort in the office
accommodation in thermal, acoustic and visual terms.
Thermal
Thermal comfort is when people feel comfortable in the office, neither too warm nor
cold, buildings should ensure that people are warm enough in the winter and cool
enough in the summer, and causing no discomfort to the people working in the
business Thermal comfort is the temperature inside the office; the minimum work
temperature should be at least 13 degrees and TUC guidelines a maximum 30
Artemisinin Based Combination Therapies ( Acts )
Artemisinin based combination therapies (ACTs) are currently considered gold
standards in the management of uncomplicated malaria. For the liver stages,
primaquine is the only drug approved to eliminate hypnozoites. Resistance against
existing antimalarials is well documented, and troubling due to the emerging
resistance to artemisinins. Therefore, a rising incidence of drug resistance requires
the development new drugs, with novel disease targeting strategies. Moreover, the
challenge is to develop innovative drugs that demostrate (i) faster onset and longer
duration of drug action, (ii) safe for children and pregnant women, and (iii) ideally be
amenable to a single dose administration. Following are brief descriptions of such

2.Ferroquine was found to be active against chloroquine resistant strains, and is
currently undergoing Phase II clinical trials. Ferroquine, unlike chloroquine,
accumulates in the digestive vacuole of the chloroquine resistant parasites, enabling
P. falciparum chloroquine resistance transporter, PfCRT inhibition.
3.Amodiaquine is also active against most chloroquine resistant strains, however, two
reactive metabolites are formed, namely imine and aldehyde, and are the likely cause
of the hepatotoxicity and agranulocytosis, respectively.
4.N tert Butyl isoquine (GSK369796) was designed to avoid the formation of
quinone imines, and entered Phase I studies. It is potent in vitro, including in the
chloroquine resistant strain K1 (EC50 = 13 nM) and is active in vivo with an ED50
= 3.8 mg/kg/day, thus being comparable to amodia quine. In spite of the excellent
exposures and near quantita tive oral bioavailabili ties in animal models, its

safety superior to chloroquine.

could serve as a replacement for mefloquine, the Walter Reed Army Institute of

WR621308, which has asubstantially lower permeability across MDCK cell
monolayers than mefloquine, suggesting lower brain

Why Did The London Bombing Happen
In March 11 2004 191 people died and 2,000 more were injured when 10 bombs
went off on 4 trains in three Madrid area trains station in the morning during rush
hour. This attack had been the deadliest attack since the Lockerbie airplane
bombing where 243 passengers and 16 crew members died on December 21, 1988.
It was later found that the bombs were detonated by cell phones and evidence
showed that it was the cause of an extreme Islamist militant group suspected to be
tied with al Qaida. It seemed that the terrorists had targeted Madrid s Atocha station
where seven of the bombs were detonated and the three other bombs did not detonate
according to plan which were later found intact. Many saw these attacks as retaliation
for Spain s taking part in the war in Iraq. Although no real motives were found as to
why it happened.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gun Control Pros and Cons in the United States
The debate over gun control has been raging through the American political systems
for years. On one side, there is the National Rifle Association (NRA) and 2nd
Amendment citing citizens who use their firearms for hunting and self defense. On
the other, there is Handgun Control Inc. (HCI) and followers of the Brady Campaign
who want to ban guns on the basis that they are dangerous. Both sides have strong
arguments, anchored in historical precedent and statistical analysis. Anti gun control
lobbyists arguments include the guarantee of the 2nd Amendment, the definition of
militia as any adult male, self defense, the relative uselessness of permits and
regulations, and court cases in favor of firearm possession. Pro gun control activists...

At the time of the Bill of Rights ratification, the United States had only just broken
free of the Articles of Confederacy, a document intended to create a loose union with
the individual states holding all the power. In order to garner more support for the
Constitution, the 2nd Amendment was added in to protect the states rights to their
own armed forces a right which is of little importance in the 21st century. Because of
the strength of these arguments, pro gun control advocates point to the historical
context in which the 2nd Amendment was written in order to justify stricter laws.
Expanding upon the wording in the 2nd Amendment, anti gun control proponents
argue that the definition of militia is not limited to an armed force under direct
control of the state or federal government. Charles Heston, president of the NRA,
cites US Code Title 10, Section 311, stating that the recognized legal definition of
militia is that the militia is made up of two complementary bodies: the organized
militia, which is the National Guard; and the unorganized militia, which is every
male citizen between ages 17 and 45 (Heston). Under this expanded definition of
militia, every legal male of the accepted age has the right to bear arms under United
States law. Some gun rights advocates further expand this right to be
Reply To Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz
The seventeenth century in Mexico didn t know anything about equal rights for
women. Women devoted their lives to the building of families and marriage or
instead gave their life to God and became nuns. Sor Juana InГ©s de la Cruz chose to
live her life as a nun for different reasons, must specially because of her desire for the
opportunity to study. She expresses this choice in her Reply to Sor Filotea. She

Though the letter has a superficially humble tone, Sor Juana forcefully insists that
women have a natural right to the mind. Her use of biblical evidence to support
her call for strong, educated women has earned her recognition for her rhetorical
skills. She justifies her theme by speaking of her own great talents and
accomplishments as well as citing Biblical figures. Her work firmly supports her
push for women to pursue a secular life, while staying within the respectful tone.
She states the fact that biblical figures and women in the Common Era were leaders
and they were never punished for their intelligence. She mentions various women
including Zenobia, the queen of Palmyrians and also a warrior, she was a brave and
wise woman and was admired for her learning and leadership. Sor addresses the fact
that without any secular knowledge nobody would be able to understand God s
creations. She defends her writing in general throughout the letter stating that her
writings has never been found indecent and was always written at the request of
others. One of the most important reasons she cites is the fact that educated women
can teach young girls. She insisted on letting women educate and serve as teachers,
because in the 17th century only men had the knowledge to teach therefore,
Titanic Analysis
Titanic
Review by Paige Jerrehian September 15, 2017
You jump, I jump, right?
This is a powerful statement that Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) declares to
remind her forbidden lover Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) of the passion and
dedication she has for him as they are fighting for their lives during the sinking of the
ship, Titanic. This pivotal scene represents the use of drama, irony, and allusion
director and screenwriter James Cameron portrays in the film Titanic . This epic
love story, released on December 19, 1997, tells the historical and tragic journey of
the Titanic ship and incorporates a fictional story about the lives of two passengers,
Rose and Jack, who luckily find each other during their hard times.
In the film, Jack is a poor man who earns a small living drawing people and scenes
from around the world. Although his income is low, his passion for art keeps him
optimistic and showcases his love for life. Winning a ticket aboard the Titanic on a
lucky hand of cards leads him to Rose, a young girl from a rich family. Although it
seems she has it all, she is unhappy with her life and feels trapped in her arranged
marriage and the life she is forced to live. However, everything changes when the
two passengers meet. Jack is able to show Rose the true meaning of life and she
finds comfort and love in him and his way of living. The entire movie follows their

Women In Combat Roles
I read your article Maintain the combat exclusion for Women in the military,
published at the New York Times online, and I have to say that I disagree with your
belief that women should continue to be excluded from combat roles in the military.
Throughout your article you made a couple good points, however, the majority of
what you had to say was based off of a ridiculous and outdated societal view
regarding women in general, not just women in combat. Over the course of centuries
the role of women in society has drastically changed and evolved, now more than
ever, women are heads of households, companies, and organizations. Why then should
a women s role in the militarybe any different? I implore you to reconsider your

The Five Stages Of Industrialization In The United States
It is extremely fascinating how cities evolved over time. Especially here in the
United States since a great hand full have been industrialized and as a result, some
cities became very popular. The industrial revolution gave cities the opportunities to
expand in manufactures. Thus, factories began to be developed and as a result, it
provided civilians with job opportunities. As the years progressed, cities expanded in
two different methods. One method in how it expanded was by the Concentric Zone
Theory. According to Burgess, cities that in this zone expand outward in form of
rings. Burgess states that the closest zones to the origin are zone that is made up of
labor workers and immigrants. In contrast to zone located furthest from the origin....

Walt Rostow established The Stages of Economic Growth that cities go through to
get to modernity. Rostow states that all societies will eventually be industrialized in
just five stages (Fong 2016). The first stage of modernization begins with the
traditional society. In addition to the cities in Mexico, there are small villages that
are near and far from the city. Some of these villages still practice the first stages of
modernity through agricultural. Subsequently, as villages began to grow, they
expand their development of goods through the pre conditions to the take off stages.
In this stage, goods will be manufacture out of raw material then traded for other
goods. When a city is large enough it goes through innovation. The city acquires

characteristics attract tourist. (CITE DR. FONG?) Mexico city has this characteristic;

what is known as the drive to maturity stage. This is the stage that that attracts tourist
due to its modernity. Lastly, a city reaches the final stage of high mass consumption.
Mexico city has reached this stage because there is any form of consumption located

Global Warming and The San Francisco Bay
Do you think the San Francisco Bay would not be affected by climate change of
global warming? The short answer is no. Scientists believe that in the future that
the sea level of the San Francisco Bay will rise and flood several of the San Francisco
Bay Area s populated areas and landmarks such as the San Francisco and Oakland
International Airport. How could we prevent or slow down the bay from taking over
our landmarks and populated areas? Around 10,000 years ago the San Francisco Bay
was once not a bay. The glaciers from the ice age melted into water and then the
water flowed into canyons to form into the San Francisco Bay. However the
flowing of the bay may not have stopped. The San Francisco Bay Conservation and
Development Commission predicts that the sea level will increase so much the
sea will take over and flood populated areas and landmarks like the San Francisco
and the Oakland International Airports. We could recover from natural disasters
like earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes, but not sea level rising. The New York
Daily News say that it would take only 12 feet for the ocean to rise and take over
several landmarks and populated areas in the San Francisco Bay Areaand another
landmark could be San Francisco Giants AT T Park. My project is to solve San
Francisco Bay s rising sea level problems by slowing it down and have little
consequences to the ocean environment as possible. The project has three objectives
that could solve San Francisco Bay s sea
Determining The Population Structure Of Salmo Salar

Determining the Population Structure of Salmo salar (Atlantic Salmon) in the
Salmon River, NY
The Salmon River is located in Oswego County New York and it empties into Lake
Ontario at Port Ontario. It is a major hub of public recreational fishing in New York
State and contains a variety of fish including Chinook, Coho, and Atlantic Salmon as
well as Brown Trout and many others. The Salmon River was an extremely
productive tributary into the late 19th century. Unfortunately, a variety of factors led
to the degradation of the water and subsequently the Atlantic Salmon population
collapsed. These factors included deforestation, over fishing, and dam construction.

(Falconer and Mackay, 1996). Additionally, (Youngson et al 2003) explains that in the
management of hatcheries, managers must make decisions based on population
structure and genetic insight. This research would provide novel information that
could inform better decision making in terms of the effectiveness and efficiency of
the hatchery.
The Atlantic Salmon is an appropriate fish to study because of it s importance
globally. It is a commonly eaten fish, and is very prevalently produced used in
aquaculture techniques. In addition to that, it s a fish that has seen a dramatic
population decline globally. There are major conservation efforts concerning it,
specifically on the coast of Maine. It is an anadromous fish, and typically spends 2 3
years in freshwater, then spends about 2 3 years in the ocean and then returns to it s
native river to spawn. This makes it very vulnerable to the conditions it may face in
both environments.
The general approach of this study will follow similar methodology to the approach
used in Ward 2006. The Genetic diversity within the populations will be examined
based on samples locus genotypes and the genome diversity can be examined for fits
to Hardy Weinberg expectations. The genetic differentiation between the samples will
be quantified using the FST statistic from Wright,
The Princess And The Frog Essay
Fairy tales are timeless entities that will always be relevant in people s lives. Fairy
tales and stories offer entertainment, advice, and moral examples. The creation of
fairy tales is important in the development of social norms. Children everywhere
would read fairy tales and learn from them. As a result, these fairy tales are translated
into multiple languages and allows people with different backgrounds to understand
and relate to the story. People take these stories and adapt them to life around them.
Within these adaptations of the same story, it is normal to observe slight differences
that contribute as evidence in identifying the culture or societies in which these
stories come from. Whether it is the slang of the dialogue or the change of location,
modern producers and writers are known to take these classic stories and adding a
significant twist to adjust to their cultural agenda. The movie, The Princess and the
Frog, is a modern example of writers and directors creating a modern twist to the
popular story of the Brother Grimm s The Frog King. The Princess and the Frog and
The Frog King both encode the mores, values, and beliefs of the cultures of the
societies from which they come because, even though they both have similar plot
ideas, the differences of the location and the differences of the overall specific
plotlines attribute to understanding how their own specific cultures influence the
adaptation and the actual story. The Princess and the Frog is a Disney
Comparing The Book The Skeletons In God s Closet
Butler then begins to wrap us his novel in the conclusion. Butler reiterates that God
can make us new again. Because God is good, He gives life to the spiritually dead.
He will reconcile Heaven and Earth and restore the glory of His creation. While some
think Hell, judgment, and holy war contradict Gods goodness, God uses these things
to show that He is good. Butler then conveniently answers questions that he wanted
to answer in the three designated parts but did not have appropriate spots for them.
He also provides a short biography about himself and footnotes for all the chapters
of the book. The Skeletons in God s Closet is a very well written and well researched
novel. Butler s dividing the book into three parts is very symbolic. The... Show more

The three parts of the book complement each other and strengthen the knowledge of
the book. In the book, Butler communicates his great biblical knowledge of Hell,
judgment, and holy war. Because Butler possesses so much knowledge, he
effectively disproves that Hell, judgment, and holy war are skeletons in God s
closet. He, instead, proves that Hell, judgment, and holy war are three of the many
reasons why God is good. I would encourage anyone who is not a Christian to read
this book because many people are not Christians because they cannot grasp the
issues of Hell, judgment, and holy war. The questions at the end of the book are
especially helpful because many people look to the smallest cracks of Christianity as
an excuse for not being a Christian. This book would also be very useful to pass out
to prisoners. As I have seen on 60 Days In, prisoners like to read a lot. In chapter 10,
Butler recounts when Jesus says that when we treat the lowest people like we treat
Him, a sinful action towards someone is a sinful action towards Jesus. This
revelation could cause many unsaved prisoners to see the errors of their ways, repent,
and convert to Christianity. While some may consider the phrase raping Jesus to be
harsh, it is an eye opening statement and

Michael Corleone is the new Godfather of the Corleone family. In the original
Godfather we see that Michael is uninterested in joining the Mafia family, and is
planning on being a politician. However over the course of the film he abandons
this plan and joins the family business. Michael is a cold blooded Mafia don with
no tolerance for anyone and anything. Compared to Vito, Michael is bolder, more
violent, and more ambitious. He even becomes rich in the casino business something
in which his father stayed away from. Despite being a successful Godfather, Michael

caring and devoted, however he is still fierce and violent. Unlike Michael, he does
not let this violence succumb to him and take over entirely. Vito has tried keep his
two worlds separate from one another and not entangle his family and his business.
Michael is cold blooded, ruthless, smart, and determined. His ability to think

the mafia and his family life suffers from that. He has his own brother murdered,
and the rest of his siblings hate him. Also the difference between Vito and Michael

the nation. Michael got involved when his father died and he had to step
Athena Goddess Of War
Athena, or Athene, is the Goddess of Wisdom and War ( Athena ). Known for her
grace and mercy, all the other gods highly respected her (Pontikis). Although she is
the goddess of war, her true personality might be a surprise.
Athena s Roman name is Minerva, and the two are very similar (L. Roman and M.
Roman 90). Athena actually does not like fighting at all, but instead enjoys the
strategy involved in battle (Pontikis). This goddess is not only in charge of war, but
rules over outdoor activities and chores done inside the house like weaving,
spinning, and cooking (Pontikis). She rules over the city of Athens, which was
rewarded to her because she helped the people by planting the olive tree (L. Roman
and M. Roman 91). Also, her most important temple is called the Parthenon ( Athena
).
Athena can always be found with her helmet and spear, making her one of the
easiest goddesses to identify (Pontikis). Athena is also easy to spot because of her
special shield. On her shield is Medusa s head, which Perseus had given to her (L.
Roman and M. Roman 91). She hardly uses her spear however, because she likes to
handle things in a peaceful manner (Pontikis). Surprisingly, Athena has a manly
figure with broad shoulders (Pontikis). Her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

human beings could be genuinely good and kind outside of the expectations of
traditional religions. He was born in the year 1724. Kant s parents were

He believed that the main duty of government is to ensure liberty, but he sensed
there was something awfully wrong with the ordinary definition of freedom and
liberty. It should not be thought of in libertarian terms as the ability to do just
whatever we want. We are free only when we act in accordance with our own best

helps everyone become more reasonable. The good state represents the rationale

Nitrobenzene Induced Methemoglobinemia Introduction People are exposed to toxic
chemicals on a daily basis; these substances can affect human health. Although they
are more regulated than they were in the past, there is still a risk of disease. An
example of a toxicant that causes disease is nitrobenzene. Nitrobenzene is known to
cause methemoglobinemiawhen inhaled, ingested, or when it comes into contact with
the skin. The most famous cases of methemoglobinemia were the Fugates family, who
were famous for their blue skin. The Fugates family had hereditary

Nitrobenzene causes hemoglobin to convert to methemoglobin, causing
methemoglobinemia. It can also irritate the skin and eyes as well as impact the
central nervous system. Chronic exposure can lead to spleen and liver damage. When
working with nitrobenzene it is important to wear protective clothing and masks to
avoid these ill health effects.
Analysis of the Findings
Methemoglobinemia is a very rare disease, which made finding material on it
difficult. Nitrobenzene research also wasn t easy because it is a very specific
chemical belonging to a large group of nitrates (Dugal, 2005). Before we went to the
U of M biomed library, I could only find basic overviews. I ended up discarding most
of my research and replacing it with sources I found at the U of M. The sources at
the biomed library were extremely informative and helpful.
All of the sources stated that nitrobenzene is a toxicant that causes
methemoglobinemia. Nitrobenzene is a dangerous chemical that should not be taken
lightly. The people who are most likely to be exposed to it are factory workers, but it
is possible for others to be affected if they misuse products that contain nitrobenzene

The Noise Of A Sound Floor Insulation That Reduces Noise...
1.INTRODUCTION
Many places are becoming urbanized; so to save space many people live together
in one building like apartments or a duplex house. There can be lots of noises
generated by activities such as walking from adjacent buildings. The noise impact
on people s quality of life goes beyond annoyance. It may affect psychological aspect
of health as well.
There are several ways to eliminate this problem; one is to reduce sound by increasing
the distance between the source and the receiver and the second is using noise barriers
to reflect or absorb the sound. To effectively reduce internal noise transferred from the
adjacent buildings and maintain the comfort of the resident, it is important to have
adequate sound floor insulation. Sound insulation in a building reduces the sound
pressure with respect to sound sources and receivers.
In this report, I will discuss the installation of a sound floor insulation that reduces
noise from outside. Additionally, I examine effects and causes of the noise.
Most of information I used in this report was collected from the recent technical
databases provided by Kansas State University Libraries. I have also gathered relevant
information in academic journals.
This paper is organized into three main sections. First, Section 2 provides brief
problem of the noise. Second, Section 3 discusses the way to reduce the noise from
neighboring units by installing adequate sound insulation. Third, Section 4
summarizes my research findings in a

main theme on it, and comment on the main characters and some literary devices.
Thank You M am is about a boy called Roger and a large woman Mrs Luella Bates

view, the climax is in the end of the text, when Mrs Luella Bates gives Roger ten
dollars. He simply shocks and gets other thoughts about her. He feels guilty for
trying to steal her pocketbook, he apologizes Lady, I am sorry . She cares and feels
sorry about him, although she does not know him. She leads him down the hall and
opens the door for him, then she says God night, behave yourself, boy. In the end, I
will simply say that this story is relevant nowadays, because some countries still

Statistics Is The Most Popular Score Essay
Introduction
Statistics is not only part of a required to create on coursework in schools.
Everywhere person looks, statistics is around. Too many people think statistics is
difficult though, but it is all around them in real life. Three main descriptive statistics
which make data easier to interpret, measure central tendency. They are the mean,
measured, and median. Each of these are averages, which everyone is exposed to in
everyday life (Stapel, n.d.). All three have specific uses in real life.
The Mode
The first measure, the mode, is the most popular score. To find the mode, one
tallies the frequency of each number or value. The mode becomes the group that
occurs the most frequently (Averages, n.d.). A set of numbers may have more than
one mode when an equal number of occurrences takes place at more than one value.
Of course, a mode may not occur in a set of numbers if the numbers appear with
equal frequency (Henry, 2011). Next, a few examples of the mode are explained.
First, California Homeschool Network s election occurs annually. An election is a
great example explaining the method. The election consists of trustees that members
vote for. When the election closes, the results displaying the trustee who receives the
most votes is the winner. This winner received the largest number of tallies during the
election count.
Another example of the mode is finding the average number of students in various
programs at National University determining which are the most

How Does Meth Affect The Economy
The meth epidemic of the United States has been invasive and problematic from the
time it was introduced from the early 1900 s until now. Though introduced through
pharmaceutical companies for treatment from depression to colds, the drug has
become one of America s most addictive, abusive, and destructive drugs. The
economy and the role of the government, as well as pharmaceutical companies, play
the main role in how meth was introduced and the reason it is still abused today. The
novel, by Nick Reding, titled Methland follows the effects of meth on a small town,
but it also gives us insight in to how these three factors play a major role in the
making, use, abuse, and distributing of this drug. This paper will follow the timeline
of methamphetamineand what was going on in the economy as well as government
action. Methland is based in a town called Oelwein. The town was created as a hub
city, due to the railroad lines that came in through its main streets. It also had many
farms and ranches that created sustenance for the community and gave it resiliency.
The contents of this book look in to various lives in Oelwein, and how they were
affected by meth use. This meth use directly correlates with the decline of the
economy in the story, as well as the movement of big companies and government
regulations or better put, failed regulations. The story of Oelwein is a good model as
to what happened in most agricultural based towns across the United States. Nick
Essay about Fine Quality Baroque Music in the Era of...
Baroque music is the western music art style that was composed in the era of
Renaissance, that is, between 1600 and 1750. Music at any given period reflects
tendencies, impulses and influences that are found in art of other kinds of the same
period. Therefore the name baroque also applied to the architecture, literature and art
in the same period. Baroquehas in the past and to some degree in the present had the
implications of abnormality, grotesqueness and absurdity. But in its applications to
musicin the Renaissance period the term baroque does not have connotations that are
pejorative because much of the music composed in this period is of high and fine
quality (Swain, 7).

The performer however should be guided by some factors that help them know what
instrument to use where and what sound to get from what instrument (Donington,
131).
One, the performer should be able to distinguish indications that are scanty for the
instruments that the notations may be showing. In that all the instruments that the
performer is using fit in the kind of that they are playing. They should also look out
for the effects of the musician that may need working on for the actual performance
(Donington, 131).
Two, as much as it is the responsibility of the performer to choose the instruments,
looking up for alternative instruments that are listed is important. That way, if there is
an instrument that is missing, the performer should always be able to get an
alternative. This also suitable when the there are many instruments needed, the
alternative instruments can be used interchangeably (Donington, 131).
Three, the notion that instruments that are suitable are acceptable may not always
work. A performer should understand that every instrument is made for a specific
use and should be the only use it must be put to. That is, it would be impossible to
use an instrument and try to make it sound in a particular way. The distinctions were
made in the baroque era as much as they do now (Donington, 131). Every instrument
in baroque music should be used to what it really is designed to, this is to make sure
that the sound of
Botulism Research Paper
Clostridium botulinum, once a host is infected, creates toxins which give rise to the
symptoms of botulism. Botulism is not transmittable person to person but is obtained
by the following methods. Foodborne botulism is caused by the ingestion of foods

Wound botulism is caused by infection of an open wound with spores from the

Battle Of The Sexes Analysis
The Battle of the Sexes Sherlock Holmes is the fundamental character of the
wrongdoing/puzzle novel and scene arrangement. Holmes demonstrates the way his
observational aptitudes help him to prevail as an investigator. Holmes is considered
to demonstrate no feeling along these lines, directing him as the machine . Holmes
demonstrates a ton of routes on how he makes sense of the cases he researches. The
viewer can see the connection amongst Adler and Holmes indicates the way they tend
to each other. In the film Holmes demonstrates his character is more observational
than in the story. Holmes communicates his observational abilities and apathetic traits
diversely in A Scandal in Bohemiathan in A Scandal in Belgravia .
The short story A Scandal in Bohemia concentrates on how Irene Adlerbreaks
Sherlock Holmes down. Sherlock Holmes is known for being the most brilliant
individual in the room. Holmes never needs to stress over somebody out hurting
him, until the point when he meets the woman . Everybody knows Holmes to be
the man that knows how to explain any case that is tossed at him, aside from in

has been away for some time. Adler leaves a snapshot and letter for Holmes.
Knowing Holmes as the best criminologist ever, he has never been out smarted by

Triggering mechanisms include: physical trauma, surgery, dental procedures, and
emotional stress. It has been noted that almost any level of trauma can trigger an
edema attack, from typing on a keyboard to mowing the lawn. Emotional stress is
another often encountered cause of edema attacks. The buildup of stress has been
well documented in it s effects on the immune system, often in a negative capacity.
This appears to be enough to trigger attacks spontaneously in those with a copy of the
mutated C1 inhibitor gene. Trigger of an edema attack by surgery or dental
procedures are also usually the result of trauma and can heavily affect the methods
and outcome of any such procedures undertaken.3
Because Hereditary angioedema attacks can be triggered by common occurrences
throughout any given day in the average person s life, those affected by hereditary
angioedema must take special care with their actions and more closely monitor their
environment as well as their stress levels. Though

Harms Of Social Networks On Society
Harms of Social Networks While social networking does have value, it also has
tremendous potential for negative influences in everyday society. The harm
caused by social networking has skyrocketed over the last decade. There are no
regulations to the content that can be posted or the immediate contact one can
have with a stranger, leading to dangerous situations. This is a rising concern for
the parents of young children as well as all who are part of social networks. The
growing population has become overwhelmingly focused on the world of media
and technology; most could not solve a simple math question, much less have a
personal conversation with someone. While our schools are being downsized, the
Facebook population is growing each and every day. A solution must be found
before the doors of schools are closed, the interaction with one another face to face
lessens, and the lives of teens with a good future are destroyed. There have been
many solutions set up to overcome these obstacles, for example; blocking certain
posts, privacy settings, and under age logs in denials. Fortunately, these have
worked in some cases. The summer of 2010, Facebook shot up in their members
with more than 500 million people. Even Twitter, where the posts must be 140
character or fewer has reached 140 million members (Clemmit 751). Because of the
increasing popularity of social networks, a decline is starting to be seen in everyday
personal interaction with others. The dominance that
Achieving A Bachelor s Degree In Early Education
After receiving my high school diploma, I plan to begin earning my BSEE at SFSC.
My dream job is to be a kindergarten teacher as my grandmother taught for my whole
life and is a big influence on me. SFSC offers a four year Bachelor s degree that will
help me achieve my goal. I plan to begin these classes between January 3, 2018 and
January 5, 2018. My ultimate goal is to receive my BSEE, but I will earn my
Associates degree in Early Education prior to that. This degree takes two years and
will also give me all prerequisites needed to continue on to earn my Bachelors. It
will take me a total of four years to earn the Bachelor s degree that I wish to have.
With this Associates degree, I can work as a preschool teacher while finishing my

Introduction A rite of passage commemorating the transition from a boy into a man is
more than just the fulfillment of a dream; it is the definition of identity for a family.
Praying with Lior, chronicles a deep connection of a young man with prayer and the
Jewish culture through the eyes of Lior, siblings, parents, synagogue members, and
classmates. Yet, this film is more than just a journey for a young man with Down
Syndrome to achieve a significant milestone, it is the emotional, physical, spiritual,...

Lior has a unique relationship with each member of the family, arguably creating a
harmonious balance among tradition, culture, community, and nurture. The relational
aspects connecting Lior with the Jewish tradition include intimate bonds with the late
Rabbi Devora Bartnoff, Rabbi Mordecai Liebling, members of the synagogue, and
siblings. There is an abundant sense of passion, tolerance, empowerment, and
benediction filling the spirits of those in Lior s presence during prayer. Lior sings out
with courage, confidence, conviction, and sheer joy radiates from him. It is like the
world around ceases existence and this moment of prayer Lior shares only with God.
Lior is noticeably anxious about tone, volume, cadence, and rhythm which for me
contribute to the authenticity of his prayer. It is apparent from the very onset of the
film; Lior is the recipient of incredible love and affection from within the family
system as well as the synagogue and school community. Although, it is unclear if
these sentiments truly reflect an acceptance for Lior s self image beyond the fabric of
culture binding a family and community together. We are left wondering whether this
strong orientation toward the family s ethnic culture and religion is a symptom of a
multigenerational transmission process. Furthermore, we must contemplate if the
presence of fusion among the parent subsystem, Lior, and faith a manifestation of
failure to resolve
Pros And Cons Of The Nba Draft
The one and done rule is a slang term used to explain an NBA player who stays in
college for at least one year before entering the NBA Draft. (Anon., n.d.) The NBA
draft is an annual event where 30 franchises in the National Basketball Association
(NBA) select new players for their teams. Eligibility rules for players to enter the
NBA draft have changed many times during the history of the league. No
basketballer may sign with the NBA until he has been entitled for at least one draft.
The rule has manufactured one and done players that play college basketballfor one
year before declaring for the NBA draft. (Anon., 2016) The one and done rule
provides benefits to the NCAA, the NBA, and the players involved, but they are not
equivalent across the board. The issues from the rule are becoming further noticeable
each season. (Dorji, 2015)

University of Kansas, hoping to avoid injury and revealing himself to a potential

would have become an immediate millionaire, gathering approximately $4.3
million in salary in 2013 14 with raises, qualifying offers and huge extensions
guaranteed to come after in following years. Wiggins is a top tier example of how
the one and done rule is unfair to players who are not only physically ready to
compete in the NBA, but who have nothing to gain and everything to lose by
undertaking the risk of attending college. (Hughes,
War, Disobedience And Provision From Judges And
Carries...
1 Samuel picks up the theme of war, disobedience and provision from Judges and
carries them forward through God s use of Samuel and Saul. God used them to
bring Israel victory over their oppressors despite Israel s continued disobedience.
Through his provision of the judges, victories and kings, God displayed his
omnipotence over the Israelites. Since these themes are carried over throughout
Judges and 1 Samuel, Godis shown to be the same God over his people.
From the start of Judges, war is a prevalent theme. This theme is present in the first
verse when the Israelites asked, Who shall go... against the Canaanites to fight
against them? Time and time again the Lord raised up judges to deliver Israel from
the oppression they faced. Even Gideon was referred to by God as a mighty warrior
in chapter 6. Similar to the judges, Samuel was called by God to deliver the people.
According to the New Oxford Annotated Bible, Samuel is depicted as a transitional
figure leading up to the king the people asked for. Saul was appointed the king
despite God s warning that, he will appoint for himself commanders of
thousands...to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots in
chapter 8. Saul s reign continued the theme of war present in Judges and 1 Samuel.
The Philistines were still a strong force to be reckoned with. The Israelites were
humbled when defeated by the Philistines. As a result, they went back to their roots,
the Ark of the Covenant. God used the Ark to
Motifs In Creation Myths
Have you ever considered any of the creation myths other than the one of your
religion? There are thousands of creation myths on the earth now, but what about all
of the creation myths which went extinct with their people? Creation myths are
fascinating and many of them have motifs, a repetitive topic within creation myths.
The three main motifs which interest me are the idea of humans made of organic
materials, the idea of humans being created last, and the idea of the flood. These
motifs seem to interest me most because they all seem off the wall and in some
nature crazy; it really makes me wonder how the people who created these creation
myths adapted certain ideas.
The first creation myth of my interest is humans being made up of completely
organic materials. Humans in these creation myths are usually made up of clay,
mud, plants, bones, corn, rocks, and other organic materials. The Theogony, the
Genesis, the Chinese creation myth, and the Yoruban creation myth are similar
because all of them have their people made out of clay or mud. In the Elder Eddas
people were created of trees, the Incan people of rocks, Mayan people of corn,
Enuma Elish people of bones, the Egyptian creation myth of Atum s tears, and the

The flood occurs in many creation myths such as the Theogony, Genesis, Yoruba
Creation, Mayan Creation, and Popol Vhu. With the floods which occur, there are
only a few survivors and the survivors build a boat. In Popol Vhu, the flood occurs
to wipe out all of the incompetent people who were created to worship the gods and
were notweren t properly doing so; the incompetent people then become monkeys so
the new people see what they should notshouldn t be like. In the Yoruba creation,
there is a flood caused by Olokun because he was not included in the process of
humans and actually didn t know the humans were being created; he then wiped these
humans out with the

what the software should do and non functional requirement include the constraint on
the design or implementation of the system. Requirements must be measurable,
testable, related to identified needs or opportunities, and defined to a level of detail
sufficient for system design. What the software has to do is directly perceived by its

5.5.1 Performance The system must be interactive and the delays involved must be
less . So in every actionВresponse of the system, there are no immediate delays. In
case of modules like preВprocessing and feature extraction inspite of the fact that
they are very processor intensive jobs , there isn t much delay and system
performance is very consistent and produces the results of those modules in few
seconds. 5.5.2 Reliability The system is not a very high end system and also the
entire software is very processor intensive and a little time consuming when it
comes to processing few of the algorithms. Inspite of all these the system is quite
reliable and doesn t crash and very reliable in its working. 5.5.3 Usability As the
system is easy to handle and navigates in the most expected way with no delays. In
that case the system program reacts accordingly and transverses quickly between its
states. The system is very user friendly and interactive because of its User Interface
which clearly specifies everything and even displays the results very clearly in

A Research Study On Conservation Genetics
Introduction
Conservation genetics is actually a recent evolutionary theory and practise of
genetics on species in order to reduce their risk of extinction. Some relevant studies
improve the role of conservation genetics in specific type of species. There are so
many long lived species worldwide, either amphibians or mammals which nowadays
are limited and also distributed in certain areas. Most of them can be found into
small, fragmented isolated populations due to pollution, invasion of exotic species,
over exploitation and most important due to habitat loss (Frankham et al 1999).
Their amazing long life span shows both advantages and disadvantages. More living
diverse species means more stable ecosystem and regular flow of the food ... Show

Advanced genetic tools using mtDNA, microsatellite markers, protein and some other
implements related to genetics, results to significant information of which scientists

Bears
The carnivorous Grizzly bear (Ursus arctos L.) is a North American subspecies of
the brown bear and is nowadays the most widely distributed ursid. Nielsen et al
(2006), likens the Grizzly bears as keystone species suitable for discovering
conservation habitat modelling from a survival and occupancy framework. During
the past century their population have declined noticeably throughout much of
North America, mainly due to susceptibility from low density, high trophic level,
low reproductive rates and late maturation. Also, the increased illegal human
access causes the mortality of most of the grizzly bears. Their demographies has
also been changed; the brown bear in the lower 48 states has been reduced to 1% of
its original area. The estimated population size has fallen from 100,000 in the early
19th century to 1000 in 1986 (Waits et al 1998).

Chicken Egg Essay
Chicken and the Egg
Which came first the chicken or the egg? The chicken and the egg is one of life s
oldest questions. The days of fighting on the playgrounds of which one really came
first are over, but the question remains the same. Which came first the chicken or the

With a little bit of look into this question I found some exciting information that
brings me closer to an answer to this difficult question. The American Journal of
Agriculture of Economics has postulated that the egg has arrived first. Within the
article they have done some mathematical experiments on this case and have rejected
the hypothesis that eggs do not cause chickens but that chickens cause eggs, so
plainly stateing that the egg was the first(25). So they concluded that the egg came
first. Walter Thurman and Mark Fisher provided this outcome after a series of
surveys on chickens and eggs around the agriculture market.
A forum at UCLA seems to offer more of an opposing view to this question.
Scientifically the idea that the chicken came first is more appealing. They tend to go
along with the theory of evolution provided from Darwin. UCLA students hypothesis
that since chickens are a bird species and that birds evolved from dinosaurs, the
chicken would have to come first on the timeline. I tend to agree
Thomas, 3 with this because it would seem awful hard for a chicken to raise it self
if it just came from an egg. Also I believe in the theory that the chicken came first
because of a more obvious aspect. If you were to look at humans, we also come
from an egg, even though it is not quite like the egg chickens come from we come

Tony Smith Die Analysis
Die, made in 1968, is a minimalist sculptural artwork by renowned American artist
Tony Smith. Smith had originally prototyped the sculpture in 1962, when he made
a six inch cardboard model, but he did not have Die fabricated until 1968. The
final format of Die is a six foot cube of quarter inch hot rolled steel that is held
together by internal steel bracing. To have it created, Smith worked with the
Industrial Welding Company in Newark, New Jersey, which owes to its rusty,
industrial external appearance. As one of first steel sculptures, it went on to inspire
much of his later work. During exhibitions, the 500 pound steel Die sits on the floor,
inviting patrons to walk around it and view it from one or more sides at a time. As
Smith explained,
The Merits And Disadvantages Of The Four Spiritual Law
The Four Spiritual Laws are God s love, Man s sin, Christ s provision, and Our
responsibility. The first law, God s love, is teaching individuals that God loves
each and every individual that He sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross for every
individual s sin (Word of Life Bible Institute). The second law, Man s sin, is teaching
individuals that if we do not accept Jesusinto our lives as our Savior, then we are
separated from God because He is sinless (Word of Life Bible Institute). The third
law, Christs provision, is teaching individuals that the only way to Heaven is
through Jesus Christ because He died on the cross for every individual (Word of
Life Bible Institute). The fourth law, our responsibility, is teaching individuals
that our responsibility is to individually accept Jesus as our Savior (Word of Life
Bible Institute). An advantage of the Four Spiritual Laws is if someone is
witnessing to another individual, the Four Spiritual Laws are the four main key
points to address when witnessing in a short period of time (Word of Life Bible
Institute). A disadvantage of the Four Spiritual Laws is that these laws only reach
people who acknowledge and know that basic principles of faith (Word of Life
Bible Institute). The Four Spiritual Laws are very purposeful when witnessing to
someone in a short period time and also can be individual s guide when trying to
figure out the key points in leading an individual to Christ.
Servant Evangelism Servant Evangelism is a method where Christians should reach
people with love, compassion, and service while having a kind heart, a generous
attitude, and an embracing smile (Methods of Evangelism, John Christy). If servant
evangelism is done with acceptable intentions, then individuals will begin to become
accepting of Christianity and perhaps want to learn more about Jesus (Methods of
Evangelism, John Christy). Some individuals believe that Christians are better than
everyone else, which is not true. An advantage to this type of evangelism is putting a
stop to the assumptions that Christians are above everyone else and continue being
involved by caring for people (Methods of Evangelism, John Christy). A disadvantage
to servant evangelism is when a Christian is
Background on Florence Nightingale
Background
Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820, named after her birthplace,
Florence, Italy. Florence s mother Frances Nightingale was from a family of
merchants and enjoyed socializing with people of prominent social standing.
Florence was the exact opposite; she avoided anything where she was the center of
attention. Florence s father William Shore Nightingale was a wealthy landowner. Her
father was able to provide Florence with the best education. Florence Nightingale was
always trying to help anyone around her, even from a young age. She ministered to
the ill and poor people. At 16, she decided to pursue the career of nursing, trying to
help as many people as possible. Her parents were upset and forbid her from

The hospital was on top of a large waste container, which contaminated the water and
the building itself. Soldiers lay in their own body fluids on stretchers throughout the
hallways as pests ran about. Supplies dwindled due to the increase in patients, even
water was being rationed.
Florence set to work quickly. Her team and the wounded that were mobile,
scrubbed the entire hospital. Florence spent a great deal of her time caring for the
soldiers. She quickly gained the nick name the lady with the lamp and the angel of
Crimea because she walked the halls at night with a lamp, while caring for the
soldiers. The death rate dropped by two thirds because she improved the sanitary
conditions of the hospital. In addition to improving sanitary conditions, she also
created a number of different patient services to improve the quality of their
hospital stay including, meal services, laundry, and classroom services. Florence
stayed in Crimea for a year and a half. She left once the war had ended. When she
left in 1856, she was welcomed back with a hero s welcome. She was rewarded by
the Queen with an engraved brooch, which later came to be known as Nightingale
Jewel, and also receiving $250,000 from the British government. Florence used the
money to open the St. Thomas Hospital, and the Nightingale Training School for
Nurses. Nightingale gave the nursing profession a boost in the popularity; it no
longer was a lower class job.
Reflection Of Ralph Waldo Emerson
I remember learning about Ralph Waldo Emerson in my literature class in my
senior year of high school.Emerson is an amazing writer of all time. Emerson
essay about compensation and how he related it to karma was very creative. The
term what goes around comes around is very true in lots of ways. If you treat
someone badly you will soon one day get that same treatment. For example, my
mom had this close friend, she uses to laugh at someone with a certain type of
condition. When she had a child her own self, her child had this condition. This
proved that term. Ever since she told me that I live by making sure everyone is
treated the way I would like to be treated. Karma does exist and you never know
when it will come and bite you in the butt.
Something else about this essay that caught my attention was, every person has
their own vocation. I believe this so much. Every single person on this planet has
some type of purpose. Unlike my mother, who knew she always wanted to be a
nurse. I had a hard time with this. I honestly didn t know what I wanted to do with
my life. Especially when it came time to decide what I wanted to do during my
senior year. Honestly, after some thinking, I realized not everyone knows their
purpose straight away. It will take time, you just have to believe in yourself and live
day by day.
I loved the fact that Emerson knew the power of friendships. I was surprised to know
that Emerson and Henry David Thoreau were such great friends. Everyone deserves at
The Instrumentalist Theory Of Ethnic Conflict In Aceh
For instrumentalists, resource, especial the scarce resource, always being an
important factor of ethnic conflicts. Lake and Rothchild stand on the strand of
rational choice, they assume that scarce resources related to the collective fear of
the future, and politics are means for groups to control the access to scarce
resources. For instrumentalists, ethnic identity is not valuable in and of itself, it is
basically a mask for a core of real interests (Varshney 2009, 288). The case of
conflicts in Acehapproave this assertion that competition for resources typically lies
at the heart of ethnic conflict. Therefore, this short answer will be two fold: first, a
critical understanding of instrumantalism will be provided in order to illustrate why
resources are important? Second, a case of Aceh will be explained along with the
instrumentalism.
In the article Containing Fear: The Origins and Management of Ethnic Conflict, Lake
and Rothchild sited that the intense ethnic conflict is most often caused by collective
fear of the future (Lake and Rothchild 1996, 41). Their explanatory framework is
rational choice oriented which based on the instrumentalist theory of ethnic conflict.
For instrumentalists, ethnicity mask a deeper core of interests (Varshney 2009, 282).
Therefore, along with ethnic lines, all scarce resourses arouse competition and
struggles between individuals as well as organized ethnic groups (Lake and Rothchild
1996, 44 45), and such competition movements can only

Essay On Responsibility. Responsibility essays Logan Square Auditorium

  • 1. Essay On Responsibility Crafting an essay on the concept of responsibility can be both challenging and rewarding. Responsibility is a multifaceted theme that requires a thoughtful exploration of various dimensions. To begin with, defining responsibility itself can be a task, as it encompasses personal, social, and ethical aspects. The complexity arises from the fact that responsibility is not a one-size-fits-all concept; it varies across cultures, professions, and individual beliefs. Moreover, delving into the philosophical and psychological aspects of responsibility adds another layer of intricacy. It involves an examination of moral obligations, accountability, and the interplay between individual choices and societal expectations. Balancing theoretical perspectives with real-life examples and practical applications demands a nuanced approach. Developing a coherent structure for the essay poses its own set of challenges. One must carefully organize thoughts to present a logical progression of ideas. Addressing the topic comprehensively while avoiding superficiality requires in-depth research and a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Expressing personal insights on responsibility can be daunting as well. It necessitates introspection and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly. The challenge lies in striking a balance between objectivity and subjectivity, offering a critical analysis without losing sight of one's own perspective. In conclusion, writing an essay on responsibility is a demanding task that demands intellectual rigor, research skills, and the ability to navigate through the complexities of the topic. However, overcoming these challenges can lead to a rich and insightful exploration of a fundamental aspect of human behavior and societal dynamics. If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, it's worth noting that assistance is available. Services like HelpWriting.net offer support in crafting essays on a variety of topics, including those related to responsibility. Professionals can provide guidance and deliver well- researched, structured essays to help navigate the complexities of such subjects. Essay On Responsibility Essay On Responsibility
  • 2. The Scope Of Customary International Law Within the scope of customary international law, there are some varying norms that the international law community must deal with, which are broken down into three different categories from most important to least important: 1) norms in which the international community allows no derogation, these are known as peremptory norms or jus cogens, 2) norms that might allow for derogation, and 3) norms that aren t binding but some might argue should be. To classify these customary norms scholars use both state practice and opinio juris. In order to determine state practice the states may look towards each other and how they react in similar scenarios. One debate surrounding this area is determining how many states need to sign off on an action to determine that sufficient state practice is occurring. Two sides of the argument are the actual number states versus the regionalization of the states. Opinio juris is defined as a state engaging in a certain activity because they believe they are under legal obligation to act. The idea of peremptory norms is older than modern international law itself (113). The idea of peremptory norms stems from the belief that certain actions are so heinous that derogation is not allowed. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties shows the importance of peremptory norms in both Article 53 and 64. Article 53 states that a treaty is void if, at the time of its conclusion, it conflicts with a peremptory norm. Article 64 explains that treaties,
  • 3. How Journalism Changed American Culture What is journalism? Typically, a journalist is sent somewhere to investigate information and provide breaking news. However, journalism does not always mean epistolary. Film and the use of political figures were utilized as well. Journalism has been in America for decades; starting with yellow journalism in the late 1800s, and then transforming to muckraking in the early 1900s. These eras helped shape journalism, but not nearly as well the 1910s did. Between 1910 1919, journalism changed American culture and society through the rise of magazines, investigative writing, and media use. One method of transforming today s society was through the rise of magazines. Magazines covered weekly gossip to political issues to racial inequality, and were mainly used to gather local or national information. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many newspapers sent their journalists to the battlefield to take pictures and recite firsthand accounts. One writer, Floyd Gibbons, worked for The Chicago Tribune and went to the ultimate extremes to obtain information. The only items Gibbons could carry were a pencil and notebook because in the, international rules of war, Floyd Gibbons, a noncombatant, could carry no arms (Gibbons). Because of this, Gibbons lacked protection and was susceptible to injury. On June 6, 1918, Gibbons headed to Belleau Wood with Lieutenant Hatzell and was planning on noting the progression of the war. However, Gibbons and Hatzell found themselves in the midst of the roughest and toughest battles of the entire war (Gibbons). Hatzell and Gibbons wound up as targets for the German machine gunners. Hatzell received injuries to his legs, while Gibbons was shot in the arm and eye. Both survived and found medical attention hours later. Gibbons left with many injuries, and a top selling story. By 1918, Floyd Gibbons had set the standard for investigative journalists for years to come, including modern
  • 4. Sexual Harassment In Hollywood At the SAG awards on Sunday, many celebrities spoke out and showed support for the anti sexual harassment movement called Time s up in Hollywood. Many powerful and famous women in Hollywood supported the movement and used their awards speech to address sexual harassment by sharing their own personal stories. Other stars gave speeches to express how happy they are that people are standing with them against sexual harassment. There is a lot of conversation happening now in Hollywood about the movement, and many people agree with the movement s purpose of ending sexual harassment. While a lot of men agree with the movement, others like Constance Wu, star from Fresh Off the Boat, said the movement made him very uncomfortable. Many women say they don t like how they are treated as being inferior to men, and they are going to speak out against sexual harassment no matter... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prior to the movement, you rarely heard about sexual harassment. But now since women are speaking out against it, it is all over the news and social media, and so you hear about it more often. Many women have been afraid to speak out and share their story, but because of this movement more and more people are speaking out. This movement might change the world forever! Women being treated differently isn t anything new though, look back at the women s suffrage movement. The women s suffrage movement was when women were trying to get the right to vote. All white men in the 1820 s and 30s could vote and all men, no matter their race or how much land they owned could vote in 1865. In 1848, the first meeting for the fight for women s suffrage took place in Seneca Falls, New York. The fight for women s suffrage took nearly 100 years for women to win the right to vote. The 19th amendment to the US Constitution, which gave women the right to vote was finally passed in
  • 5. Environmental Effects Of Noise Pollution Noise can be defined as unwanted sound1. Sounds which we deem as unwanted or unnecessary are noise. Our environment is beset by noise, which is pervasive, intrusive and ubiquitous as well as unhealthy. The effects of noise, a pollutant and its effects on health have been neglected despite being aware of the ability to precisely measure or calculate the exposure from the peak levels2. The effects of noise pollution were first recognized in the occupational settings. In our environment, there are different sources of noise, but they generally depend on the activity performed, location and the time of the day3. In everyday life noise is pervasive, that can cause both auditory and non auditory effects on the health. Noise is an audible acoustic phenomenon that may or may not adversely affect the people. The effects of noise can be physiologically as well as psychologically be appreciated. In occupational settings noise induced hearingloss remains highly prevalent, which is increasingly caused by social noise exposure for example personal music player. If the exposure to noise remains chronic and exceeds certain level negative health outcomes are seen. Health effects which were first recognized in an occupational setting were through the weaving mills where the level of high noises was associated with hearing loss2. Excess of noise exposure leads to annoyance, disturbed sleep, increase in daytime sleepiness, decrease in patient outcome and staff performance in the hospital, increase in physiological conditions like hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, and impairment of the cognitive functioning of the school children. Occupational noise is the most studied noise exposure. Researchers have now broadened to social noise like those heard in bars or personal music players. Environmental noise consists of all the unwanted noise that arise from our environment rather than our workplace1. Environmental noise pollution is considered a form of air pollution which causes a threat to the health and the well being of the people living in the community. Noise pollution is a phenomenon that affects everybody but is generally associated with the level of activity performed, the place and the duration. Environmental noise
  • 6. Jackie Robinson Monologue My name is Jack Roosevelt Robinson. You may know me as Jackie Robinson. My passion is baseball. I played in the Negro Leagues for a little while. Not long after playing with the Negro Leagues I was chosen by Branch Rickey to help integrate major league baseball and to play for the Montreal Royals. This is the start of where history was made. It was opening day for spring training with the Montreal Royals, there were lots of reporters waiting for me. Reporters asked questions like, How do you think you will get along with the white players? and What will you do if the pitcher throws the ball at your head? This was the day I began to experience racism in the South. I was not wanted just because I was black. Mr. Rickey had plans to change
  • 7. The Historical Context Of Palestine As the depiction of certain historical facts serves the sole purpose of justifying the importance of the historical context to the conflict, and not the merit of the events themselves, the following are only a few, yet highly applicable ones to the matter discussed. Briefly going back to ancient history, the region known today as Palestine was first known as Canaan, which derived its name from a people who inhabited it between 3000 1500 B.C. They were conquered by a greek people known as Philistines and also Jews, one of the semitic peoples, in the years 1200 1100 B.C. A hundred years later Jews defeated both Philistines and Canaanites, establishing Kingdom of Israel(Smith). This is important, because the first temple in Jerusalem was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Islam expanded rampantly in the years 630 730 A.D., Jerusalem and Palestine were incorporated into Islamic rule, exposing Jews to the Arab rule as well as initiating the clash of religions that thrives to the present day. In A.D. 691, Dome of the Rock, a Muslim temple memorating Muhammad s ascension to heaven was built upon the ruins of the Jewish Temple, thus provoking the latter on the religious grounds, and initiating an ongoing dispute, one of the most prominent in present day Old City of Jerusalem (Smith). Toward the end of the Ottoman rule (1516 1918) over Palestine, the situation there began to destabilize, most notably following the Ottoman land reform law passed in 1867, which granted foreigners the right to own land if they agreed to pay taxes to the Ottoman government. The aim of the law was to force foreigners to submit to Ottoman jurisdiction in return for their investment in land in the empire. The ruling is essential to the current ethnic plight in Palestine, as it was especially in that region, that those regulations were applicated inconsistently, which opened the way for extensive outside investment and led to numbers of Palestinians acquiring lands, while giving them claim to fight the immigrants of the Zionist Movement (Tessler). The modern Zionism dates back to the second half of the nineteenth century and emerged from the nationalist upheaval as well as anti Jewish prejudice in both Western and
  • 8. Human Health And The Delivery Of Health Care Services (... Informatics as it relates to nursing can be defines as the science of how to use data, information, and knowledge to improve human health and the delivery of health care services (American Medical Informatics Association Inc., 2016). It includes the ability to locate or generate data as well as the storage and sharing of said data. Today, almost our entire society relies on technology in some form or another and the healthcare field is no different. The culture of nursing has changed dramatically over the past few decades; electronic charts and charting are still relatively new. I graduated nursing school in 2006 and at that time, there was still a fair amount of documentation done on paper. I have been able to watch the evolution of the way we nurse adapt to the technology of today. Currently we almost depend on the computers like a life line in the hospital nursing setting. Our patient s lab work, test results, medication administration and information, history and more are all stored on the computer. When we are unable to access the information necessary to provide adequate care, it makes our jobs that much more difficult. Many new systems have been developed over the last few years to help promote patient safety. A few of those include CPOE (computerized provider order entry), smart pumps which contain drug libraries with dosing parameters and safety measures, patient armbands with a barcode specific to their account, and vital sign machines and glucometers

For the liver stages, primaquine is the only drug approved to eliminate hypnozoites. Resistance against existing antimalarials is well documented, and troubling due to the emerging resistance to artemisinins. Therefore, a rising incidence of drug resistance requires the development new drugs, with novel disease targeting strategies. Ferroquine, unlike chloroquine, accumulates in the digestive vacuole of the chloroquine resistant parasites, enabling P. falciparum chloroquine resistance transporter, PfCRT inhibition. 3.Amodiaquine is also active against most chloroquine resistant strains, however, two reactive metabolites are formed, namely imine and aldehyde, and are the likely cause of the hepatotoxicity and agranulocytosis, respectively. 4.N tert Butyl isoquine (GSK369796) was designed to avoid the formation of quinone imines, and entered Phase I studies. It is potent in vitro, including in the chloroquine resistant strain K1 (EC50 = 13 nM) and is active in vivo with an ED50 = 3.8 mg/kg/day, thus being comparable to amodia quine. In spite of the excellent exposures and near quantita tive oral bioavailabili ties in animal models, its developmen t was discontinue d due to exposures insufficient to demonstrate drug safety superior to chloroquine. 5.In an effort to select the next generation of quinoline methanol derivatives that could serve as a replacement for mefloquine, the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research screened for analogs with a lower brain penetration, and identified WR621308, which has asubstantially lower permeability across MDCK cell monolayers than mefloquine, suggesting lower brain

Back then the old Magento forum was really slim with shady answers and I started answering questions with challenges similar to what I had to make it easier for others. Years later Magento.StackExchange came along and I shifted my focus there, mostly because the forum was more spam than useful information. I had some free time at that point to answer questions. (HCI) and followers of the Brady Campaign who want to ban guns on the basis that they are dangerous. Both sides have strong arguments, anchored in historical precedent and statistical analysis. At the time of the Bill of Rights ratification, the United States had only just broken free of the Articles of Confederacy, a document intended to create a loose union with the individual states holding all the power. In order to garner more support for the Constitution, the 2nd Amendment was added in to protect the states rights to their own armed forces a right which is of little importance in the 21st century. Because of the strength of these arguments, pro gun control advocates point to the historical context in which the 2nd Amendment was written in order to justify stricter laws. Expanding upon the wording in the 2nd Amendment, anti gun control proponents argue that the definition of militia is not limited to an armed force under direct control of the state or federal government. Charles Heston, president of the NRA, cites US Code Title 10, Section 311, stating that the recognized legal definition of militia is that the militia is made up of two complementary bodies: the organized militia, which is the National Guard; and the unorganized militia, which is every male citizen between ages 17 and 45 (Heston). Under this expanded definition of militia, every legal male of the accepted age has the right to bear arms under United States law. Some gun rights advocates further expand this right to be

Scientists believe that in the future that the sea level of the San Francisco Bay will rise and flood several of the San Francisco Bay Area s populated areas and landmarks such as the San Francisco and Oakland International Airport. How could we prevent or slow down the bay from taking over our landmarks and populated areas? Around 10,000 years ago the San Francisco Bay was once not a bay. The glaciers from the ice age melted into water and then the water flowed into canyons to form into the San Francisco Bay. However the flowing of the bay may not have stopped. The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission predicts that the sea level will increase so much the sea will take over and flood populated areas and landmarks like the San Francisco and the Oakland International Airports. We could recover from natural disasters like earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes, but not sea level rising. The New York Daily News say that it would take only 12 feet for the ocean to rise and take over several landmarks and populated areas in the San Francisco Bay Areaand another landmark could be San Francisco Giants AT T Park. The creation of fairy tales is important in the development of social norms. Children everywhere would read fairy tales and learn from them. As a result, these fairy tales are translated into multiple languages and allows people with different backgrounds to understand and relate to the story. People take these stories and adapt them to life around them. Within these adaptations of the same story, it is normal to observe slight differences that contribute as evidence in identifying the culture or societies in which these stories come from. Whether it is the slang of the dialogue or the change of location, modern producers and writers are known to take these classic stories and adding a significant twist to adjust to their cultural agenda. The Princess and the Frog and The Frog King both encode the mores, values, and beliefs of the cultures of the societies from which they come because, even though they both have similar plot ideas, the differences of the location and the differences of the overall specific plotlines attribute to understanding how their own specific cultures influence the adaptation and the actual story. Before we went to the U of M biomed library, I could only find basic overviews. I ended up discarding most of my research and replacing it with sources I found at the U of M. The sources at the biomed library were extremely informative and helpful. All of the sources stated that nitrobenzene is a toxicant that causes methemoglobinemia. Nitrobenzene is a dangerous chemical that should not be taken lightly. The people who are most likely to be exposed to it are factory workers, but it is possible for others to be affected if they misuse products that contain nitrobenzene or aniline (Schimelman,
  • 32. The Noise Of A Sound Floor Insulation That Reduces Noise... 1.INTRODUCTION Many places are becoming urbanized; so to save space many people live together in one building like apartments or a duplex house. There can be lots of noises generated by activities such as walking from adjacent buildings. The noise impact on people s quality of life goes beyond annoyance. It may affect psychological aspect of health as well. There are several ways to eliminate this problem; one is to reduce sound by increasing the distance between the source and the receiver and the second is using noise barriers to reflect or absorb the sound. To effectively reduce internal noise transferred from the adjacent buildings and maintain the comfort of the resident, it is important to have adequate sound floor insulation. Sound insulation in a building reduces the sound pressure with respect to sound sources and receivers. In this report, I will discuss the installation of a sound floor insulation that reduces noise from outside. Additionally, I examine effects and causes of the noise. Most of information I used in this report was collected from the recent technical databases provided by Kansas State University Libraries. I have also gathered relevant information in academic journals. This paper is organized into three main sections. First, Section 2 provides brief problem of the noise. Second, Section 3 discusses the way to reduce the noise from neighboring units by installing adequate sound insulation. Third, Section 4 summarizes my research findings in a

She leads him down the hall and opens the door for him, then she says God night, behave yourself, boy. In the end, I will simply say that this story is relevant nowadays, because some countries still have this problem. Some people steal to satisfy their needs only. So therefore this story is a good example to these people. It teaches how they can fulfil their wishes without

Too many people think statistics is difficult though, but it is all around them in real life. Three main descriptive statistics which make data easier to interpret, measure central tendency. They are the mean, measured, and median. Each of these are averages, which everyone is exposed to in everyday life (Stapel, n.d.). All three have specific uses in real life. The Mode The first measure, the mode, is the most popular score. To find the mode, one tallies the frequency of each number or value. The mode becomes the group that occurs the most frequently (Averages, n.d.). A set of numbers may have more than one mode when an equal number of occurrences takes place at more than one value. Of course, a mode may not occur in a set of numbers if the numbers appear with equal frequency (Henry, 2011). Next, a few examples of the mode are explained. First, California Homeschool Network s election occurs annually. An election is a great example explaining the method. The election consists of trustees that members vote for. When the election closes, the results displaying the trustee who receives the most votes is the winner. This winner received the largest number of tallies during the election count. Though introduced through pharmaceutical companies for treatment from depression to colds, the drug has become one of America s most addictive, abusive, and destructive drugs. The economy and the role of the government, as well as pharmaceutical companies, play the main role in how meth was introduced and the reason it is still abused today. The novel, by Nick Reding, titled Methland follows the effects of meth on a small town, but it also gives us insight in to how these three factors play a major role in the making, use, abuse, and distributing of this drug. This paper will follow the timeline of methamphetamineand what was going on in the economy as well as government action. Methland is based in a town called Oelwein. The town was created as a hub city, due to the railroad lines that came in through its main streets. It also had many farms and ranches that created sustenance for the community and gave it resiliency. The contents of this book look in to various lives in Oelwein, and how they were affected by meth use. This meth use directly correlates with the decline of the economy in the story, as well as the movement of big companies and government regulations or better put, failed regulations. The story of Oelwein is a good model as to what happened in most agricultural based towns across the United States. Nick

Botulism is not transmittable person to person but is obtained by the following methods. Foodborne botulism is caused by the ingestion of foods contaminated with the toxins produced by Clostridium botulinum (Sobel, 2005). The harm caused by social networking has skyrocketed over the last decade. There are no regulations to the content that can be posted or the immediate contact one can have with a stranger, leading to dangerous situations. This is a rising concern for the parents of young children as well as all who are part of social networks. The growing population has become overwhelmingly focused on the world of media and technology; most could not solve a simple math question, much less have a personal conversation with someone. While our schools are being downsized, the Facebook population is growing each and every day. A solution must be found before the doors of schools are closed, the interaction with one another face to face lessens, and the lives of teens with a good future are destroyed. There have been many solutions set up to overcome these obstacles, for example; blocking certain posts, privacy settings, and under age logs in denials. Fortunately, these have worked in some cases. The summer of 2010, Facebook shot up in their members with more than 500 million people. Even Twitter, where the posts must be 140 character or fewer has reached 140 million members (Clemmit 751). Because of the increasing popularity of social networks, a decline is starting to be seen in everyday personal interaction with others. The dominance that

The American Journal of Agriculture of Economics has postulated that the egg has arrived first. Within the article they have done some mathematical experiments on this case and have rejected the hypothesis that eggs do not cause chickens but that chickens cause eggs, so plainly stateing that the egg was the first(25). So they concluded that the egg came first. Walter Thurman and Mark Fisher provided this outcome after a series of surveys on chickens and eggs around the agriculture market. A forum at UCLA seems to offer more of an opposing view to this question. Scientifically the idea that the chicken came first is more appealing. They tend to go along with the theory of evolution provided from Darwin. UCLA students hypothesis that since chickens are a bird species and that birds evolved from dinosaurs, the chicken would have to come first on the timeline. I tend to agree Thomas, 3 with this because it would seem awful hard for a chicken to raise it self if it just came from an egg. The second law, Man s sin, is teaching individuals that if we do not accept Jesusinto our lives as our Savior, then we are separated from God because He is sinless (Word of Life Bible Institute). The third law, Christs provision, is teaching individuals that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ because He died on the cross for every individual (Word of Life Bible Institute). The fourth law, our responsibility, is teaching individuals that our responsibility is to individually accept Jesus as our Savior (Word of Life Bible Institute). An advantage of the Four Spiritual Laws is if someone is witnessing to another individual, the Four Spiritual Laws are the four main key points to address when witnessing in a short period of time (Word of Life Bible Institute). A disadvantage of the Four Spiritual Laws is that these laws only reach people who acknowledge and know that basic principles of faith (Word of Life Bible Institute). The Four Spiritual Laws are very purposeful when witnessing to someone in a short period time and also can be individual s guide when trying to figure out the key points in leading an individual to Christ. Servant Evangelism Servant Evangelism is a method where Christians should reach people with love, compassion, and service while having a kind heart, a generous attitude, and an embracing smile (Methods of Evangelism, John Christy). If servant evangelism is done with acceptable intentions, then individuals will begin to become accepting of Christianity and perhaps want to learn more about Jesus (Methods of Evangelism, John Christy). Some individuals believe that Christians are better than everyone else, which is not true. An advantage to this type of evangelism is putting a stop to the assumptions that Christians are above everyone else and continue being involved by caring for people (Methods of Evangelism, John Christy). A disadvantage to servant evangelism is when a Christian is
  • 54. Background on Florence Nightingale Background Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820, named after her birthplace, Florence, Italy. Florence s mother Frances Nightingale was from a family of merchants and enjoyed socializing with people of prominent social standing. Florence was the exact opposite; she avoided anything where she was the center of attention. Florence s father William Shore Nightingale was a wealthy landowner. Her father was able to provide Florence with the best education. Florence Nightingale was always trying to help anyone around her, even from a young age. She ministered to the ill and poor people. At 16, she decided to pursue the career of nursing, trying to help as many people as possible. Her parents were upset and forbid her from becoming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hospital was on top of a large waste container, which contaminated the water and the building itself. Soldiers lay in their own body fluids on stretchers throughout the hallways as pests ran about. Supplies dwindled due to the increase in patients, even water was being rationed. Florence set to work quickly. Her team and the wounded that were mobile, scrubbed the entire hospital. Florence spent a great deal of her time caring for the soldiers. She quickly gained the nick name the lady with the lamp and the angel of Crimea because she walked the halls at night with a lamp, while caring for the soldiers. The death rate dropped by two thirds because she improved the sanitary conditions of the hospital. In addition to improving sanitary conditions, she also created a number of different patient services to improve the quality of their hospital stay including, meal services, laundry, and classroom services. Florence stayed in Crimea for a year and a half. She left once the war had ended. When she left in 1856, she was welcomed back with a hero s welcome. She was rewarded by the Queen with an engraved brooch, which later came to be known as Nightingale Jewel, and also receiving $250,000 from the British government. Florence used the money to open the St. Thomas Hospital, and the Nightingale Training School for Nurses. Nightingale gave the nursing profession a boost in the popularity; it no longer was a lower class job.
  • 55. Reflection Of Ralph Waldo Emerson I remember learning about Ralph Waldo Emerson in my literature class in my senior year of high school.Emerson is an amazing writer of all time. Emerson essay about compensation and how he related it to karma was very creative. The term what goes around comes around is very true in lots of ways. If you treat someone badly you will soon one day get that same treatment. For example, my mom had this close friend, she uses to laugh at someone with a certain type of condition. When she had a child her own self, her child had this condition. This proved that term. Ever since she told me that I live by making sure everyone is treated the way I would like to be treated. Karma does exist and you never know when it will come and bite you in the butt. Something else about this essay that caught my attention was, every person has their own vocation. I believe this so much. Every single person on this planet has some type of purpose. Unlike my mother, who knew she always wanted to be a nurse. I had a hard time with this. I honestly didn t know what I wanted to do with my life. Especially when it came time to decide what I wanted to do during my senior year. Honestly, after some thinking, I realized not everyone knows their purpose straight away. It will take time, you just have to believe in yourself and live day by day. I loved the fact that Emerson knew the power of friendships. I was surprised to know that Emerson and Henry David Thoreau were such great friends. Everyone deserves at
  • 56. The Instrumentalist Theory Of Ethnic Conflict In Aceh For instrumentalists, resource, especial the scarce resource, always being an important factor of ethnic conflicts. Lake and Rothchild stand on the strand of rational choice, they assume that scarce resources related to the collective fear of the future, and politics are means for groups to control the access to scarce resources. For instrumentalists, ethnic identity is not valuable in and of itself, it is basically a mask for a core of real interests (Varshney 2009, 288). The case of conflicts in Acehapproave this assertion that competition for resources typically lies at the heart of ethnic conflict. Therefore, this short answer will be two fold: first, a critical understanding of instrumantalism will be provided in order to illustrate why resources are important? Second, a case of Aceh will be explained along with the instrumentalism. In the article Containing Fear: The Origins and Management of Ethnic Conflict, Lake and Rothchild sited that the intense ethnic conflict is most often caused by collective fear of the future (Lake and Rothchild 1996, 41). Their explanatory framework is rational choice oriented which based on the instrumentalist theory of ethnic conflict. For instrumentalists, ethnicity mask a deeper core of interests (Varshney 2009, 282). Therefore, along with ethnic lines, all scarce resourses arouse competition and struggles between individuals as well as organized ethnic groups (Lake and Rothchild 1996, 44 45), and such competition movements can only
