  • 4. Platform Development  Critical Questions to ask  What is the population to be covered? Employees, Contract or Temp employees, Direct Sales Associates, Distributors & Stockists  Should there be a simultaneous or phased roll out? What is preparedness needed for roll out, what are the timeframes,  What are the important features the platform needs to have? Web Delivery, Classroom Event Management, Assessments, Tracking & Monitoring, Transaction & Data Security, Virtual Classrooms, integration with other systems etc  Is there any security, legal or compliance requirements to be tracked in training? AMFI Certifications, FDA Compliance, Aviation Certifications etc.  What portals should be the front end & Back end of the platform? LMS Homepage, Intranet Portal, Mobile App, ERP Database, etc
  • 5. Platform Development  Factors Affecting Platform Development  What License Model of the LMS is most beneficial? Named User Licence, Concurrent User Licence or Enterprise Licence  What is the Network Infrastructure in the organization? Internet, Intranet, VPN connections, Pipeline shared by multiple applications  What are the working patterns of the employee population? Single location Vs Multiple locations, disparate working times vs regular shifts, Critical time frames like Sales Closing, Financial Year Closing, Night Shifts etc.  Is Learning a driver of the business? Voluntary Vs Mandated Learning, Exploratory Vs Prescribed learning, Individual Certifications Vs Shared/ Group Learning
  • 7. Content Development  Critical Questions to ask  What topics are to be developed? Induction Modules, Soft Skills, Technical Skills etc  In what timeframe? Long term, Medium Term & Short Term  What format will it be? Namely documents, PPT, Video or Flash Animation SCORM Modules  Who will develop it? Whether it will be off the shelf modules or in-house or vendor developed?  What is the budget available?

Content Development  Factors Affecting Content Development  Criticality of the subject- how important is it for business development?  Complexity of the subject- Need for a strong external faculty as in house are not specialized enough  Confidentiality of the subject – Need to maintain secrecy  Opportunity Cost of the subject – Availability of similar modules in the market  Urgency of the subject – How soon it is needed?  Scale of the subject – Who all needs it? Impact on licenses
