Malnutrition remains a major problem in India, with one in three malnourished children worldwide living in India. Despite government and NGO efforts, malnutrition continues to deepen its roots in the country. Programs to address malnutrition such as midday meal schemes, food security bills, and rural health missions have not been fully implemented at the grassroots level. Solutions proposed include providing food coupons to laborers to ensure their families' nutrition, setting up small farms to grow essential foods locally, and improving education about balanced diets.
