Being in the forensic ballistics field it is very crucial for being highly educated on evidence
handling and also documenting the evidence. In all forms of law enforcement it is mentioned
on how important the care taking in evidence handling is but for forensic ballistic it is
emphasized more than usual because the forensic ballistic experts can testify in court as an
expert. In this field there are many different sorts of evidence that the expert may come across

type of evidence that forensic ballistic evidence will usually be tied with firearms in some way

Changing Face Of The Australian Family
Over the last five decades there have been many studies, reports, papers written and statistics
collected regarding the changing face of the Australian Family. Much of this information focuses on
living arrangements, relationships such as marriage and de facto, one parent households, working
mothers and fertility rates to name a few. There are several factors that have caused variance to the
structure and values of the Australian familyincluding the increase of divorce, remarriage, same
sex relationships, one parent families and blended families. This paper will look at the extent of
change that the Australian family has undergone in the last 50 years, focusing on two key issues,
firstly the impact of women entering the workforce and secondly the decrease of fertility rates.
A definition of family is required to understand the parameters by which majority of studies have
been evaluated. For the purpose of data collection, The Australian Bureau of Statistics defines
family as the following:
Two or more persons, one of whom is at least 15 years of age, who are related by blood, marriage
(registered or de facto), adoption or fostering, and who are usually resident in the same household.
Separate families are identified for each married or de facto couple and for each one parent family
in the household (ABS, 1992b).
Another term, nuclear family is commonly used and describes the family as male/father, female
/mother and children. Saggers and Sims (2005), state that the

Alan Paton Literary Devices
In this fictional novel, written by Alan Paton, the author gives light to many different social issues
including apartheid, prostitution, alcoholism, and many more. Through these social issues, Paton
idolizes many characters throughout this narrative due to their behavior and actions taken during
these matters. Beyond conventional issues, this book poses its own issues, some in accordance
with the national issues, and some not. Through Paton s use of expressive diction, graphic imagery,
and examples of Arthur s writings, he constructs a shared attribute of persistent ambition among the
Jarvis men, Stephen Kumalo, and Msimangu.
One stylistic device Paton employs in his novel is graphic imagery; this device is one of great
effect. Through the use of this device, it is evident that many characters are dedicated and relentless

Through these letters and statements, it is easy to see what each character and wants, as well as
(generally) what each race wants and stands for. It is clear that Arthur supports the side of the
natives, which is extremely rare in Johannesburg. This is what makes his murder so ironic killed by
those who he stood for (the natives). Despite his death, it symbolizes his determination through all
the adversity he may have faced. In chapter twelve, Paton gives short statements from Europeans
discussing ways to cut back on native crime. This also highlights Arthur Jarvis perseverance. Many
Europeans feel that increased schooling facilities would cause a decrease in juvenile delinquency
amongst native children (Paton 107). Others believe that they should enforce the pass laws (Paton
108). But, the one European individual that supported the beliefs and actions of the natives the
most, is the one that suffered. Arthur knew the risks of advocating for the natives and that is what
made him such a decent

A Brief Note On The Hip Hop Industry Essay
YG, an inner city black rapper within the hip hop industry, is a Blood gang member who was born
and raised in Compton, California. Pitbull, on the other hand, is a Cuban hip hop artist, born in
Miami, Florida, and is been more famously recognized within the music industry, in terms of fame
and financial success. While these two artists come from opposite ends of the country, they do share
similarities within their music and performance of hip hop culture, in that they both utilize
problematic themes like misogyny, sexual objectification, and violence towards women in their
lyrics and music videos, which are notorious subjects within hip hop music. They also pair this with
rhetoric that glamorizes and fetishizes partying, drugs, and alcohol, as well, performing in flashy
ensemble and jewelry as a display of wealth and class. YG and Pitbull also express pride within
their music for their backgrounds and where they come from, as Pitbull often incorporates Spanish
within his lyrics and even discusses Cuban politics in his song Give Me Everything. This is an
important reference because Cuba is also very much much involved with hip hop culture, especially
in American hip hop culture, by artists like Pitbull, who using body posturing and gesture evocative
of U.S. rap performances, their lyrics are sung in a distinctly Cuban Spanish vernacular over
rhythms often incorporating Afro Cuban musical elements (Neal Forman, 2012, pg. 302). YG
utilizes this same theme as he often

Influence Of Peter The Great
There have been many absolute rulers that ruled societies throughout history. Some of those
rulers that had power would use it to either abuse their power to control everyone and have their
own rules or the rulers would enlighten their power and give the people more privileges. One
ruler that enlightened his power was Peter the Great. Peter the great used his power to improve
society and used ideas from the ruler before. Those ideas from the ruler before that was never
used peter the great took those ideas and made the ideas happen for the people and society.
When peter the great first came into power peter the great wanted to take old ideas and improve
them for him the people and society. peter the the great wanted to change how the people looked
and dressed and Peter the Great made people shave their beards if they wanted to keep their beards
they would have to pay a special tax in order to keep the beard. Peter wanted the people also to get
rid of their old clothes and wear new clothes that were better. Peter as a ruler made sure his ideas
could be perfect for him and the people and make sure his ideas were what the people wanted. One

Fitzgerald s Definition Of Truth In The Great Gatsby
What do you believe truth is? There probably are a few different definitions of truth. I consider
truth being honesty and facts. I don t care about truth. I want some happiness. said Fitzgerald s
version of truth. Hansberry says, Perhaps I will be a great man... I mean perhaps I will hold on to
the substance of the truthand find my way always with the right course. O Brien s truth is, I want
you to know what I felt. I want you to know why story truth is truer sometimes than happening
truth. These three have some decent definitions, but truth itself doesn t really have just one right
definition, it s more open ended.
Fitzgerald says, I don t care about truth. I want some happiness. It supports with truth because
truth can be happiness, if you believe in it. Fitzgerald s version of truth doesn t totally fit with
truth, but it does work because truth is a wide range. The reason it doesn t totally go with the
flow is because he says he does not care about truth, which can be a big deal depending on the
situations and what not. In the Great Gatsby someone said, I mean it was careless of me to make
such a wrong guess. I thought you were rather honest, straightforward person. (chapter 9) This fits
in because it goes with the thought that people do follow the concept of truth and honesty. ... Show

The Rhetoric Of Gaming In Academia
Academics come in all Shapes and Sizes All it took was once class period Syllabus Day, at that to
convince me that the gamified classroom was an infinitely unique, innovative, and effective
alternative to the traditional classroom said Morgan Ebbs in his article on the Benefits of Gaming

be a mistake or possibly a joke. I stood corrected. Morgan proved me wrong as the class The
Rhetoric of Gaming proved Morgan wrong. I was utterly shocked when reading this article because
It explained, what I thought to be the, impossible. The impossible was using the concept of
entertainment as a tool for learning.
Morgan expressed his bias view on the gaming community in his article. He listed off some of the

that this class equipped all the student with skills they need to be successful outside of the
classroom. This amazes me because the process was enjoyable for Morgan.
I believe this style of leaning should be more available in high school, not in college. I think this
because high school currently does not equip students for college or the real world. This type of
learning should be started at a younger age in order to prepare students for college. This article
has shown me this topic and how important it is with today s generation. Most kids goof off

Evaluation Of The First Chapter
The first chapter introduced me to the various roles within OT. This includes activities that are
meaningful to a client. So, not only is OT helping with a problem, such as a broken wrist, but it
also helps break that down into different aspects that are utilized to regain function through tasks.
I didn t realize how much, or the depth OT actually went, and how many occupations there were
to cover. This chapter introduced me to just how diverse the clientele are in OT, and how much
creativity with a holistic approach in activities is used to help in a client s therapeutic treatment.
This chapter made me look positively toward my future in OT, with promise of it being a
rewarding journey. The second chapter gave me a history of where OT has evolved from. I
think this is an important chapter to review to show how OT has developed over the years from
people with many different backgrounds. I had no knowledge as to where OT had developed
from. These people didn t just go to school to be involved with OT they were creating the field
itself. I didn t gather that all the people were working together in a collaborative effort to make
OT a field of study. This chapter gives light to the discovery of different approaches and methods
ranging from the Arts and Crafts Movement and beginning of moral treatment for people from all
walks of life, to the progress to drugs being introduced and Acts being adopted into law to help
people who needed OT. Not only has the realization that people

A Survey On The Healthcare System Essay
Introduction Some believe the healthcare may be the most scrutinized industry out there today
(Ashrafi, Kelleher Kuiboer, 2014). As the government continues to reform the U.S. healthcare
system away from a fee for service to a value based model, many institutions are turning to business
intelligence (BI) and analytics for assistance. Moving forward providers of healthcare are
responsible for the overall care of patients from admission, discharge and now if the patient returns
for the same issue. According to Graaff and Austin, the push by the Center for Medicare and
Medicaid organization for meaningful use stage 2 requirements, was one of the first changes to
place emphasis in the area of BI within the industry. Although healthcare continues use utilize BI to
aid with improving quality of care, operational efficiencies, controlling costs and staying ahead of
competitors to name a few. Per a study conducted by Deloitte, health system analytics may be the
missing key to unlock value based care (Morris, Mittal, Chang Shukla, 2015). A survey by
Teksystems conducted in 2014, stated that roughly 58 percent of physician practices and hospitals
stated their organization has not yet implement a BI solution. Regardless of the numbers, many
healthcare organizations have experienced success with the adoption of BI. Not to mention
enabling better decision making throughout the entire organization. Per the Deloitte Center for

A Man Called Ove Essay Theme
In the novel, A Man Called Ove written by Fredrik Backman, Ove, an old man, is living in
Sweden. He lives on a private road in old town homes. His neighbors were old friends, but now
they are moving to retirement homes and new more modern people are moving in. Patrick and
Parvaneh are one of the new couples that moved in. They have little children and Ove will
become very close to them because of traumatic events. White Men are the authority in the book.
They try and come into the neighborhood and take everything away from Ove and his neighbors.
Ove lives in a neighborhood with very strict rules that he likes to keep to. For example, motor
vehicles are prohibited, so when the new neighbors bring their car in Ove isn t to happy with them.

To start off, a part I did not like about the book was the part about Ove s dad. I felt as though this
complicated the plot a lot and was not necessary to the base of the book. It did not need to be
added into the book because it had no effect to my understanding of what was happening in the
book. If anything it made me more confused because it went back in time, then it came back to
the present and it was confusing what time period we were in at the moment. A good part of the
book was when Parvaneh was becoming friends with Ove because he needed to get out of his
daily routine. Ove needed someone to shake up the life he had been living for many years. I
would not recommend this book to adolescents because the book was confusing at some points
and the humor was guided towards the adults. Personally, I would read another book by Fredrik
Backman because the book was still very well written. I also could understand the book, for the
most part. To continue, this book would be better read by adults because the humor was more
guided to that age group. Also, this book is still relevant today because people do not live forever.
We have to learn to move on from the bad times just like Ove did. When a loved one dies we feel
grief, but like Ove we use the people around us to begin to feel better about what happened to us.
In conclusion, this was a good book and I would rate it three out of five

Truth and Deception in Advertising
ruth And Deception In Advertising There is much to be discussed about what the role advertising
has in today s society. Everywhere you look, and go there is usually some sort of advertising
present. Whether watching TV, walking around a mall, or reading a magazine, people are
bombarded with advertising. So it brings into question, what kind of role should advertising have,
and what kind of ethicsshould merchants of products go by. There are many different opinions on
the ethics merchants should have. Some people believe they should have a tell all type of
approach when making a sale, while others on the other end believe that merchants should do
whatever it takes to make the sale, even if it means lying. Here I have presented the two... Show

Suppressio Veri does not support this notion, instead puts the seller at an advantage over the
buyer. Another notion that Machan brings up is the idea of how some from an altruistic sense
(concern for well being and welfare of others) would feel about the ethics of advertising
/merchants role. Of course those from an altruistic sense would favor the tell all stance, and see
Suppressio Veri as being wrong, As Machan says, If we are to live solely to do good for others,
then when we have reason to believe that telling the whole truth will promote others well being,
we morally ought to tell the whole truth to the person. So when a merchant has reason to believe
that telling his customers about lover prices elsewhere (for goods which he sells at higher price)
will benefit his customer, he ought morally to do so. This basis, not only an opposition to
Suppressio Veri but also in part to the merchant ethic and Caveat Emptor, I see as having defaults.
Machan mentions, as the theory of intuitionism state s, One should not promote one s weaknesses,
one should not volunteer information detrimental to one s prospects. And then goes on to give a
good example of why he believes the altruistic way fails, I doubt anyone would seriously advise
job seeking philosophers to list their CVs rejected articles and denied promotions that would be
counterintuitive . Here is why I feel the tell all, altruistic approach to advertising fails.

The Orangeburg Massacre
Boom! Pow! Shots were fired! Screams could be heard from miles away. Tears could be seen
from all over the town. Many things were lost that day, which include three beautiful lives. The
Orangeburg massacre was a tragedy which transpired on the dreadful night of February 8th, 1968.
A large group of African American students protested with riots by cause of the segregation of a
bowling alley titled All Star Bowling . The students protested with a brawl/rioton the University of
South Carolina (USC) campus. With the predicament from the protests, national guard was called

that proceeded at the protests. Countless of the problems started before the event with the Civil

My Pen Writes In Blue And White By Vincent Cremona
In the last paragraph of the essay My Pen Writes in Blue and White , Vincent Cremona infers that,
through his childhood familiarity with blue collar and white collar working environments, he has
attained an expansive world view that enables him to sympathize with various cultural backgrounds
today. By enveloping this dual mindset of society, Cremona has developed an impartial writingstyle
capable of communicating with a wide variety of backgrounds effectively, whom, in his words,
is to see as either blue, or white, or some shade thereof (195) In other words, the author explains
that he can adopt either method of communication from blue collar and white collar societies
individually, or blend the two styles together. By doing so, Cremona harnesses the authoritative
terminology of white collar speech, while exhibiting the loud and brash nature of blue collar

demonstrated in the author s earlier example, where after filing a complaint to an airline while

The Dangers Of Children On The Playground
Children on the playground are often quick to react to perceived violent actions by fellow youth.
Quips like You hit me so I will hit you can be heard. The children are all grown up now, their
names are America and the Soviet Union, and furthermore the stakes are immensely superior to
a playground squabble. In 1945, there was no doubt the Allies would win the wars versus
Germany and Japan, however, the unanswerable question was: How long, and how any lives,
and how much destruction would there be before the Axis powers capitulated Bridger, S.
(2016)? Like children on the playground, a dangerous game was played with the stakes of
worldwide destruction. This tit for tat preventative became known as mutually assured
destruction (MAD) The A Bomb, made in America with all its destructive power was
inconceivable to many. However, after use on the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, and the
horrific devastation which resulted, the world took notice. The A Bomb was the new Playstaion,
everyone kid wants the newest Playstation. Unfortunately the A Bomb is not a game console, but
a device unthinkable devastation. At the end of the 1960 s era movie called Dr. Strangelove it
depicts the lunacy of the mutually assured destruction concept, and the fragility of how close to
the brink of destruction the world is (Dr Strangelove, 2016). The movie ends with the actor Slim
Pickens riding atop an atomic bomb dropped in from an American B 52(Dr Strangelove, 2016) . As

Graffiti Is Bad
Graffiti: A force for evil
Graffiti refers to pictures or words inscribed on public property. It has been around for thousands
of years found in caves to modern buildings. However, several people argue whether modern
graffiti is a force representing good or evil. Graffiti is a negative method of portraying art due to
the fact that it negatively affects people within a community and the community itself, it consumes
a lot of a cities economy, and it is not necessary for it to be produced on public property.
Teenagers and young adults abuse graffiti which negatively impacts a community and the people
living within it, and here is how. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, young
adults...damage property for reasons of boredom, anger or revenge. Others vandalize to show
defiance toward rules, laws and authority or to draw attention to a cause . (6) In other words,
teenagers are wrongly influenced by graffiti and become rebellious towards the law and high
authorities. In addition, graffiti ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is not necessary for people to deface public property. There are alternative resources
such as canvases in which people may produce their art. According to Noel Sanchez, Artists tag
both public and private property, which becomes costly for taxpayers and business and property
owners (Graffiti as Vandalism). As seen here, paint is being sprayed on public and private property
which negatively affects the taxpayers. In addition, not even art institutions such as the Museum of
Contemporary Art in Los Angeles or the Museum of the City of New York find graffiti attractive
on their property and prohibit their premises to be vandalized (Graffiti is Always Vandalism). This
proves that even art museums would not consider graffiti attractive if their own property was
covered in it, therefore suggesting that graffiti ruins

Yugoslavia War Research Paper
Often termed as Europe s deadliest since World War II, the Yugoslavia War has been infamous for
the war crimes, which include ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity and rape. These wars
supplemented and aided the weathering of the Yugoslav state, when its constituent republics
declared independence, but the issues of ethnic minorities in the new countries (chiefly Serbs,
Croats and Albanians) were still unsettled at the time the republics were accepted internationally.
The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia(ICTY) was established by the United
Nations to prosecute these crimes. According to the International Centre for Transitional Justice,
the Yugoslavia War led to the deaths of 140,000 people.

What Is Global Competitiveness Is Becoming More About ...
In today s environment, companies have to compete on every level, as the markets are getting
increasingly competitive. Competition is no longer simply down to product and instead
organisations have to take other things into consideration, particularly their strategy for success.
Companies have to look for a way to diversify themselves from their competitors in the market and
the main way of doing this is to focus on their mind set. This essay will look to evaluate the extent
to which global competitiveness is becoming more about mind set versus mind set or whether
companies still depend on product versus product as their foundation of success (Hamel and

For example, the operations department within an organisation need to be ensuring that production
levels are high, whilst the marketing department need to be advertising the products to the extent
that makes production meet sales. Without the right mind set in departments and the attitudes of
organisational members being consistent throughout an organisation, the likelihood of success is
minimal. People will be working towards different things and resources will be divided amongst
different projects and therefore never actually reaching their full potential (Mintzberg et al, 1987;
Hamel and Prahalad, 1993). Strategic intent, a notion pioneered by Hamel and Prahalad (1990) can
be considered to be at the heart of a company with a strong, prosperous mind set. This notion
outlines the organisations ambition that creates the mind set within and pushes all components of
the organisation to achieve the goals outlined by management. An organisations strategic intent can
be best understood as big, hairy, audacious goals (Collins and Porras, 2000, cited in McGee et al,

A Study On Patenting Genes Of Organism
Patenting Genes of Organism
The advancement of technology has lead to many scientists conducting more experiments with
gene modification. This has lead to scientists to isolate certain genes that may cause a certain
disease, thus modified genes may change the organism in a particular way. It may help farmers
with crop cultivation and reduce crop infestation. It may also help farmers to be able to cultivated
crops or keep animals that are prawn to drought resistance. Before, I go in details explain the
importance of why businesses that develop modified organisms should be able to preserve their
property rights by patenting such organisms or why such organism should not be patentable. I
would like to briefly explain the history of patenting. For over two hundred years living organisms
have been excluded from patent laws; life forms were considered a product of nature and not a
human invention. The non patentable status of living organisms changed with the 1980 landmark
Supreme Court case Diamond v. Chakrabarty, . The court decided in a narrow 5 4 decision that a
strain of bacteria that had been modified by the insertion of new genes was patentable because it
was not naturally occurring. The foreign genes gave the bacteria the ability to break down
hydrocarbons, and its inventors hoped it might be useful for cleaning up oil spills. Historically,
patents were initially developed to insure and protect inventors and to make sure that they could
benefit financially from the

Analysis Of Loung Ung s First They Killed My Father
Loung Ung s First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers follows her
struggles as a child during the Angkar rule. Children in Cambodia directly suffered from trauma,
which obviously dismisses the myth that children experience less pain than adults. The importance
of Ung s book is the emotional impact she has on the reader because she gives a voice to the victims
and to the dead. As Americans, this topic, the Cambodian genocide does not get taught commonly
in education. It shows the trauma that the citizens went through and how it affected the country.
The organization of the story follows Loung Ung s life from the day they left their home to the

Therefore, the drug presented in the microbot can produce more RNA to help defeat the cancerous

Lastly, Nanotechnology can help doctors find cancer cells in a patient and they have the
opportunity to give early medications to the patients diagnosed with cancer. Currently, doctors
can use Nanotechnology to detect the minuscule cancer tumors present in millimeters of saliva
and blood. As illustrated in the research done by the Stanford University, We can now detect just
a few cancer associated molecules or circulating tumor cells in the body in just a few milliliters
of blood or saliva, or map the boundaries of a brain tumor within millimeters to assess its
response to therapy or to plan a surgery, Rajiv Gambhir said. We ve specially designed
nanoparticles that can send back a massively amplified, whopping signal when they bind to
cancer cells in the colon, and we re working on ways to trigger the self assembly of nanoparticles
when they enter a cancer cell. The field has advanced tremendously in the past 10 to 15 years
(Gambhir). Therefore, if doctors can detect cancer tumors or cancer cells in the body, then they can
offer required diagnostics and early treatment to the patient before the tumor develops and starts to
multiply. As shown above, cancer can be detected when it is at an early stage

Should The Government Deplete The Price Of Illegal Drugs
Based on the given scenario, if the government declares marijuana and cocaine illegal the price of
illegal drugs increases, creating more gangs and gang welfare. Due to the high price of illegal
drugs, fewer street drugs are consumed. I personally think that the government trying to be rational
about the drugmarket would lead them to a market failure. In the article, it stated that a legal
dispensary charged $70 for up to 1 ounce of marijuana and less than that, 0.25 being the
maximum, to customers that were from out of town. Most cartels would take a hard hit due to the
scarcity of their products because this public policy would put marijuana and cocaine in high
demand. If you consider the fact that most cartels don t give you a limit such as the 1 oz limit

Significance Of The Guillotine In A Tale Of Two Cities
Throughout Dickens A Tale of Two Cities, the guillotine is a persisting symbol of the French
Revolution. It represents the revolutionary violence through which humanity loses its religious
morality and a new, savage standard is created. By looking at the passage as a Student of Literature,
the revolutionists, straying from ethics and God, are depicted through religious allusions. A
Historian lens reveals Dickens condemnation of the bloodthirsty revolution that has normalized
violence and stripped the people of humanity.
Dickens contrasts Christian images and the guillotine to depict the revolution s immorality and
deviation from God s ideals. He emphasizes the power of the guillotine as the symbol of the
revolution, and how the revolution has overlooked its Christian values. Dickens describes the
guillotine as the sign of the regeneration of the human race, Revolutionists replace the cross with
the guillotine, and it is also worshiped where the cross isn t wanted. Throughout the novel, Dickens
emphasizes the idea of regeneration, or resurrection. He explains the guillotine has resurrected the
human race as new beings no longer bound by the cross. Jesus, represented by the cross, is also
resurrected, but the guillotine in the revolution overshadows him. A symbol of rebirth and morality,
Jesus, is surpassed by the symbol of death and destruction, the guillotine. Dickens also purposefully
names the main executioner Samson, sharing the name with the biblical figure Samson.

However, one individual talked about how by going to Samford, we acknowledge their laws and
therefore are obligated to follow them because we attend this University. He went on to say that
we give up certain freedoms when we go into different places because everyone has differing
beliefs about how things should work. He continued by saying that if we have a problem with the

In order to understand this more completely, Aristotlesays, For even if the end is the same for a
single man and for a state, that of the state seems at all events though it is worth while to attain the
end merely for one man, it is finer and more godlike to attain it for a nation or for city states
(Nicomachean Ethics, 66). Aristotle believes that the state and the individual should work hand in
hand to be successful. Also, he believes that a human s natural desire is to be happy. Therefore, if
the government and the individual were working hand in hand then both parties should be happy.
People are born to be governed, he argues. According to Aristotle, laws should express human
nature. The laws should line up with what we believe. Aristotle also points out that there is no such
thing as personal morality. Therefore, no need to challenge the authority of the government. Parts of
Aristotle s view agree with what the person I interviewed said about this question, but other parts
do not. Aristotle would agree that you should not challenge the authority of those governing over

The Positive And Negative Cons Of Credit Cards
For many years, there has been an ongoing debate whether using credit cards is a positive or a
negative idea. On the positive side, credit cards are a widely accepted method of payment across
the globe. One of the benefits of using your credit for payment is foreign travel, when you are
traveling out of the country it saves you from having to exchange your dollars for the local
currency, your credit cardcompany calculates the exchange rate for you and automatically posts
the correct charges to your account. (Yuille). In addition, credit cards are great for emergency
situations where you find yourself in the position of having to spend a large sum of money that
you had not budgeted for and may not have the money readily available. These unforeseen
expenditures can then be worked into a monthly budget and be paid off in a series of monthly
installments (Yuille). For instance, making a large purchase with a credit card and promptly
making your monthly payments until the debt is satisfied, could improve your credit score
which can help qualify for future loans should the need arise (Detweiler). Furthermore, many credit
card programs have rewards programs you may be eligible for. Such as, being eligible to receive a
percentage of your purchase as a cash back reward, earning airline frequent flyer miles for each
dollar you charge to your credit card and often you are offered discounts on daily purchases
(Vanderpool). Credit cards also allow for convenience. Having a credit card

Spiral Of Wants Analysis
Spiral of Wantings From a Neuroscience perspective, I learned how neuroscientists have
identified different pleasure centers in the brain relating to wanting or craving and another area
relating to feelings of deeper satisfaction. Drs. Wright wrote about the brain s pleasure centers:
Dopamine is released in our brain when we anticipate and indulge our wants or cravings, while
opioids are released when we meet deeper needs. I was beginning to understand how my short
term indulgences such as chocolate provided dopamine satisfaction, which is not lasting. Yet
when I meet deeper yearnings, such as connecting with a friend and feeling felt, opioids are
released. As I learned about the spiral of wantings, I began to see how I was mistaking my
dopamine induced feelings for gratifying satisfaction. I became more aware of my Yearnings to
feel comfort from my own anxiety and sadness. This is when I quit drinking alcohol on a regular
basis. . The buzz was temporary and it was an illusion of happiness. I began realizing how my
escape with alcohol was a mis want and it was having negative effects on my... Show more content

As I learned more about how Harris viewed verbal and non verbal transactions between people
and the three states, the Parent, the Adult and the Child, I became more conscious of who I was
in the moment and discovered I had a choice of who I wanted to be in the moment. Harris
describes the mental state of the Parent as a collection of tape recordings representing what a
child perceived adults doing and saying. The recording comprises a long list of rules and
admonitions that the child was expected to believe unquestioningly. My parent recordings often
reflected what I should or should not be doing such as: I should be nice and happy, I should be
agreeable, I should do what I am

Circuit Conditioning Is A Workout Scheme
Tabata circuit conditioning is a workout scheme which was founded by Doctor Izumi Tabata
from the National Institute of Sports and Fitness in Tokyo, in 1996 (Tabata et al., 1996). The
first stages of the Tabata circuit began in the midst of coaching the Japanese speed skating team
as he conducted a study using an interval based training model (Tabata et al., 1996). The main
objective of the research conducted in 1996 was to identify whether it was possible to improve the
performance of his elite levelled skating team by using a certain protocol. As a result, Doctor Izumi
was able to create a time efficient workout which builds muscle, burns fat and increases VO2 max
(Tabata et al., 1996). The workout is a combination of eight short repeated exercises which last a
total of four minutes. The eight intervals are broken down into twenty seconds of intense exercise,
followed by a ten second rest (Tabata et al., 1996). With academic evidence, this literature review
will analyse Tabata circuit and establish how it has progressed from use for aerobic training to then
into a workout.
According to the American council on exercise (2016), An effective cardiovascular and muscular
conditioning program can be accomplished in a short period of time, but only if the level of
intensity is extremely high . Dr Tabata uses this technique in his infamous Tabata workout scheme.
Furthermore, tabata implemented this as he created his training experiments. The first experiment
was to pedal on an

The South Will Rise Again
Southern Pride You would be hard pressed to find any Southerner who does not know and
understand the sentiment behind the statement, The South will rise again. The South is a region
within the United States that does not follow the generalized American rule. In an effort to identify
what makes the South a distinctive region, one must explore the comparisons of culture, education,
racism, religion, and identity of the South and its people to the rest of America. Through the use of
a wide variety of statistics and comprehensive comparisons, it is possible to understand why
Southerners feel it is important to protect and preserve their heritage from what they consider to be
attacks from outsiders. While the South has experienced many... Show more content on

The South fought the American Civil War as a movement to separate themselves from the Union
and establish its own national citizenship. As a result of their resounding loss, Southerners chose to
focus their energies on maintaining their individual ethnic group which sets them apart from the
rest of the nation. According to John Shelton Reed, author of The Enduring South, The three
functional characteristics of an ethnic group are that: It serves psychologically as a source of group
identification; it provides a pattern network of groups; and it refracts the national cultural patterns
of behavior and values through the prism of its own cultural heritage. Reed allows his readers to
grasp the intensity in which Southerners met, and still meet today, all three of the functional
characteristics of an ethnic group. Throughout his book, Reed purposes to enlighten the reader that
Southern ness is attained by three different measures: birth, achievement, or unwilling thrust (such
as the African Americans who were brought to America under duress). The Enduring South exposes
the element of Southern identity as pride in its heritage, culture, customs, and ideals. The South, as
it has been nationally defined, is referred to as the eleven ex Confederate states, with the additions
of Oklahoma and Kentucky; and the rest of America is referred to as non Southerners. As a means
of maintaining an accurate collection of data, Reed uses the nationally acclaimed

What Is The Theme Of Act Of Union By Seamus Heaney
Act of Union Through the years, Irish poetry had a leaning towards representing Ireland as a raped
woman. Seamus Heaney s Act of Union , from his 1975 book of poetry, North, uses the theme of
relationship, portraying Britain as a man towering over the weaker, feminine Ireland. The poem
uses strong sexual metaphors, which try to compare the colonization of Irelandto that of a rape. The
metaphors used through the poem describes what took place between England and Ireland as well
as a sexual act taking place between a man and a woman. The poem s title Act of Union shadows
over the poem with its double meaning. One interpretation of the title can be the actual Act of
Union in 1801. After the Irish Rebellion in 1798, the British Cabinet decided... Show more content

The first line of the second stanza, And I am still imperially continues to cover the images of
rape and violence. The word male begins the new line giving it a stress that has connotations of
strength and power. The power of the speaker is revealed, when he leaves Ireland with the pain of
a conquest. Again, it also has a double meaning, referring to the aftermath of a rape, pregnancy. In
the next two lines, the speaker describes the pain of childbirth, where Britain does not need to bear
the consequences, he can leave Ireland, the pregnant woman , to deal with the difficult outcomes.
Britain takes advantage of a union between the two, leaving Ireland painfully abused and hurt.
These imagery s The battering ram, the boom burst from within , further reinforces the sexual and
violent act on Ireland. The next line The act sprouted an obstinate fifth column mentions a fifth
column, a term used to describe traitors. This fifth column the poem refers to can be read as a
political movement, certainly, and is often thought to refer to Ulster loyalists. It s the offspring of
the liaison, Northern Ireland, who is turning on its father, Whose stance is growing unilateral. The
angry young man of Northern Ireland are represented through the sound of the wardrum , and we
can see that in the next line, Northern Ireland is represented as a male: His heart beneath your heart

Essay on Globalization and Human Trafficking
Trafficking in human beings is now the fastest growing business of organized crime. Men, women
and children are trafficked within their own countries and across international borders. More than
one person is smuggled across a border every minute which is the equivalent to ten jumbo jets
every single day. And the trade earns twice as much as the Coca Cola brand. (STOP THE
TRAFFIK 2014)
According to estimates, more than 700,000 people are trafficked every year for the purposes of
sexual exploitation and forced labour. They are transported across borders and sold into modern
day slavery. Over the past decade, trafficking in human beings has reached epidemic proportions.

worldwide. Of these 2.4 million are as a result of human trafficking. Consequently it 1.2 million
children are trafficked every year.(STOP THE TRAFFIK 2014) Six hundred thousand to eight

Approximately eighty percent are women and children and up to half of them are minors.
Predominantly the vast majority of trafficked people come from the poorest countries and the
poorest strata of the national people. Human trafficking is the second largest source of illegal

switching their cargo from drugs to human beings, in a search of high profits at a lower risk.

where people are trafficked through or a destination where people are trafficked to. (Masika 2007)

Schools and Uniforms
School Uniforms Uniforms in schools are a big debate around the world. Should we have
uniforms in schools? The answer is yes because uniform help the schools. They bring to table a
great deal of help because students are getting bullied, killed, and some may not have as much as
other when shopping for clothes. Having uniforms bring safety to schools and what goes on
after school. Why do we need uniforms? Most student have their own style, but a common
argument against school uniforms is that they take away the students right to show their sense
of style, creativity and culture. Yes, school uniforms may limit what the students have to wear,
but he/she can still have their own ways of self expression in many forms. Students can still
express their style of choice by what shoes they pick, color of the shoe laces, how he or she
styles their hair, what accessories they add, jacket they wear or socks; there are many ways.
Uniforms are still versatile where they will not be breaking the dress code policy the school has
set. Just because a student can t wear the most latest Polo ,Lacrosse , or Hollister shirt or jeans to
school doesn t mean that his/her rights are taken away. School should be a place where Children
come to learn, not to scope out the latest fashion trend. Outside of school, kids can wear and show
off their unique sense of style. (A great deal of conjecture has been devoted to the relationship
between the implementation of school uniform policies and some

effectively and in a timely manner as opposed to a single hand approach. Given the myriad
reasoning and points of view to a single problem or task at hand, a number of diverse solutions
can be achieved through teamwork. As such, it is imperative to keep team members motivated and
focused on achieving organizational goal (Baker, Day Salas, 2006). It should be noted that
refocusing and motivating team members towards achieving organization s goal can be a daunting
task. There are a number of tactics that can be utilized by leaders in order to keep team members
refocused, motivated and productive.

Common Category Of Cardiac Arrhythmias
Introduction
Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial Fibrillation (AF) known to be the common category of cardiac arrhythmias. It is mainly due
to the rate or rhythm abnormalities of the heart and is a type of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT).
Rapid and irregular heart beating is a characteristic sign of atrial fibrillation. It is of significance
since it a high risk of leading to thromboembolic events, heart failure and mortality (1).
The prevalence of atrial fibrillation globally has increased significantly to about 2 3% in the
population. Since the risk of atrial fibrillation increases significantly with age, due to multiple co
morbidities, the UK s increasing elderly population has a marked increase in incidences of atrial
fibrillation (2).
Complications
Patients with on going atrial fibrillation have been shown to have an increased risk of
thromboembolic events. The clots that can be formed in the heart during atrial fibrillation can
easily travel and obstruct blood vessels, leading to tissue ischemia, thus causing severe organ
damage such as a Pulmonary Embolus or stoke. It is highly recommend that patients with atrial
fibrillation undergo anticoagulation therapy with drugs that help thin the blood such as Warfarinto
help prevent clot formation. These drugs come with serious side effects such bleeding in the brain
that can lead to complications or even death.
Treatments methods
Since 1954 Warfarin, a vitamin K antagonist (VKAs) has been the Gold standard anticoagulant

As the second World War began to escalate America, currently in a period of tumultuous neutrality,
began to plan for their eventual participation in the war. They knew that what they needed was not
only a well oiled military but a secret weapon to match the Germans but also ensure their success.
So the Manhattan Projectwas born under Roosevelt s guidance fueled by the intellection of several
notable scientists and the sheer magnitude of willing workers. The scope of the project was
daunting and needed a leader who could control all the odds and ends of the extensive program.

Robert Oppenheimer was also crucial in the success of the project. The two men were almost
completely different in personalities and backgrounds, Groves was the son of a middle class
military family whereas Oppenheimer was the son of a very wealthy businessman who studied at
some of the most prestigious schools in the country. Groves was politically conservative and
vocally anti New Deal while Oppenheimer had socialist tendencies and enjoyed reading Marx.
Even in appearances were the men quite different, with Groves being very stocky but favoring tight
clothes where Oppenheimer was tall and gaunt, these qualities accented by too large suits (citation).
Each man shared leadership qualities such as excellent communication skills, perseverance,
intelligence, and compassion. While they might have shared these traits each man had a different
application of these traits. Theoretically, these men should never have been able to stand each
other let alone work together but regardless of their differences the two men were able to produce
a working relationship that leads to their combined efficiency. Both men were exceptional leaders,
men of determination and action, and both held the goal of the project s completion. This
unexpected relationship helped to streamline the project s progress and led to the greater control
over the multiple moving parts of the project. Ultimately the two men combined leadership skills
and dedication lead to the successful outcome of the

Many students view education as an obligation rather than a privilege and fail to engage fully in
their studies. Moreover in schools, teachers manage much of students learning, once they leave
school, students have to manage most of their own learning so learning process should be enhanced
in such away to help students to gain enthusiasm for their scholastic journey and acquire a passion
for knowledge, for that purpose they need to establish goals, to persevere, to monitor their learning

Since many benefits were observed with this mode of learning, it was included in various
disciplines. In PBL the student group is presented with a problem and they discuss it within
groups, learners develop possible theories or hypotheses to explain the problem, identify the issues
to be researched and construct a shared primary model to explain the problem at hand2. The role of
facilitator is to guide the students to approach the problem in a systematic way. After initial
discussion as a team, the students work independently to research the identified issues and
ultimately students re group to discuss their findings and refine their initial explanations based on
what they have learned. Overall, problem based learning is a style of active and participatory
learning designed to help students which will develop flexible knowledge, effective problem
solving skills, self directed learning, effective collaboration skills and intrinsic motivation in them.

Spinach Photosynthesis Lab Report
We measured the rate of photosynthesis in this lab. By exposing spinach leaves to light, we were
triggering photosynthesis to start. Photons from the light excite electrons in the accessory pigments
in the leaves which then causes them to eventually transfer their energy to the chlorophyll a
molecule in the reaction center which causes an electron to jump to a primary electron acceptor,
thus moving the energy along. When this electron jumps, the photolysis of water occurs in order
fill the electron hole in the chlorophyll a molecules. H2O splits into electrons, H+ ions, and oxygen.
Therefore measuring the percentage of O2 in the container will be measuring the rate of
photosynthesis. As there was no increase in the amount of O2, this would... Show more content on

For this lab, we used blue and red filters over the lights which, when measured, ended up having a
maximum emission for the blue filter of 491 nm while the red was 667 nm. Most red
wavelengths have a wavelength of 622 to 780 nm while blue wavelengths range from 455 to 492
nm ( Wavelength ). Moreover, spinach photosynthetic pigment absorbed light optimally between
wavelengths of 400 nm and 450 nm and also at 650 nm (Lederer). This means that the blue
wavelengths (being at 491 nm) were 41 nm higher that the optimally absorbed wavelengths. On
the other hand, the red wavelengths of the filter were only 17 nm over 650 nm and therefore were
much closer to the optimal absorbed light. The shorter distance between the red wavelengths
shows that the red filter was closest to the wavelength that spinach would get the most out of. The
blue wavelength was too far off from the optimal wavelength so it did not do as much for its
spinach leaves. This is why the red wavelengths may have increased the rate of photosynthesis over
the blue

Romans were a very powerful people, and their influence grew and spread very quickly. Through

Those who could not afford the expensive equipment served the military as light infantry, who
mainly wielded javelins and would hurl them into enemy lines.
The Carthage army wore very strong armor which included chainmail, bronze or iron greaves, full

Hoplon. Hoplons were used by the Greeks for many generations. It is a sturdy shield of ingenious
design with rounded wood covered in bronze. Many Carthaginian soldiers painted religious
symbols on their armor and shield, such as the symbol of Tanit. (Basar)
All of this; however, pales in comparison to their ultimate weapons. Riding into battle the fearsome
African war elephants were a sight that would strike incredible fear into any heart. They were
sometimes even armored with chain mail and had men shooting arrows from the tops of them.
The Romans were also a force to be reckoned with. They will, after all, go on to conquer most of
the known western world and much of that comes from good equipment and training. The core
of a roman legionary soldier was his armor. Romans wore armor depending on what type of troop
they were. The most common armor of this time period was called Lorica Musculata. This armor
was made of strong solid bronze that would fit over the chest and back of the soldier. These chest
plates were made in accordance to a Greek style,

Through these social issues, Paton idolizes many characters throughout this narrative due to their behavior and actions taken during these matters. Beyond conventional issues, this book poses its own issues, some in accordance with the national issues, and some not. Through Paton s use of expressive diction, graphic imagery, and examples of Arthur s writings, he constructs a shared attribute of persistent ambition among the Jarvis men, Stephen Kumalo, and Msimangu. One stylistic device Paton employs in his novel is graphic imagery; this device is one of great effect. Many Europeans feel that increased schooling facilities would cause a decrease in juvenile delinquency amongst native children (Paton 107). • 8. A Brief Note On The Hip Hop Industry Essay YG, an inner city black rapper within the hip hop industry, is a Blood gang member who was born and raised in Compton, California. Pitbull, on the other hand, is a Cuban hip hop artist, born in Miami, Florida, and is been more famously recognized within the music industry, in terms of fame and financial success. While these two artists come from opposite ends of the country, they do share similarities within their music and performance of hip hop culture, in that they both utilize problematic themes like misogyny, sexual objectification, and violence towards women in their lyrics and music videos, which are notorious subjects within hip hop music. They also pair this with rhetoric that glamorizes and fetishizes partying, drugs, and alcohol, as well, performing in flashy ensemble and jewelry as a display of wealth and class. YG and Pitbull also express pride within their music for their backgrounds and where they come from, as Pitbull often incorporates Spanish within his lyrics and even discusses Cuban politics in his song Give Me Everything. This is an important reference because Cuba is also very much much involved with hip hop culture, especially in American hip hop culture, by artists like Pitbull, who using body posturing and gesture evocative of U.S. rap performances, their lyrics are sung in a distinctly Cuban Spanish vernacular over rhythms often incorporating Afro Cuban musical elements (Neal Forman, 2012, pg. 302). So, not only is OT helping with a problem, such as a broken wrist, but it also helps break that down into different aspects that are utilized to regain function through tasks. I didn t realize how much, or the depth OT actually went, and how many occupations there were to cover. This chapter introduced me to just how diverse the clientele are in OT, and how much creativity with a holistic approach in activities is used to help in a client s therapeutic treatment. I think this is an important chapter to review to show how OT has developed over the years from people with many different backgrounds. I had no knowledge as to where OT had developed from. These people didn t just go to school to be involved with OT they were creating the field itself. I didn t gather that all the people were working together in a collaborative effort to make OT a field of study. As the government continues to reform the U.S. healthcare system away from a fee for service to a value based model, many institutions are turning to business intelligence (BI) and analytics for assistance. Moving forward providers of healthcare are responsible for the overall care of patients from admission, discharge and now if the patient returns for the same issue. A good part of the book was when Parvaneh was becoming friends with Ove because he needed to get out of his daily routine. Ove needed someone to shake up the life he had been living for many years. I would not recommend this book to adolescents because the book was confusing at some points and the humor was guided towards the adults. Personally, I would read another book by Fredrik Backman because the book was still very well written. I also could understand the book, for the most part. To continue, this book would be better read by adults because the humor was more guided to that age group. Also, this book is still relevant today because people do not live forever. We have to learn to move on from the bad times just like Ove did. When a loved one dies we feel grief, but like Ove we use the people around us to begin to feel better about what happened to us. In conclusion, this was a good book and I would rate it three out of five ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everywhere you look, and go there is usually some sort of advertising present. Whether watching TV, walking around a mall, or reading a magazine, people are bombarded with advertising. So it brings into question, what kind of role should advertising have, and what kind of ethicsshould merchants of products go by. There are many different opinions on the ethics merchants should have. Another notion that Machan brings up is the idea of how some from an altruistic sense (concern for well being and welfare of others) would feel about the ethics of advertising /merchants role. Of course those from an altruistic sense would favor the tell all stance, and see Suppressio Veri as being wrong, As Machan says, If we are to live solely to do good for others, then when we have reason to believe that telling the whole truth will promote others well being, we morally ought to tell the whole truth to the person. So when a merchant has reason to believe that telling his customers about lover prices elsewhere (for goods which he sells at higher price) will benefit his customer, he ought morally to do so. This basis, not only an opposition to Suppressio Veri but also in part to the merchant ethic and Caveat Emptor, I see as having defaults. Machan mentions, as the theory of intuitionism state s, One should not promote one s weaknesses, one should not volunteer information detrimental to one s prospects. My Pen Writes In Blue And White By Vincent Cremona In the last paragraph of the essay My Pen Writes in Blue and White , Vincent Cremona infers that, through his childhood familiarity with blue collar and white collar working environments, he has attained an expansive world view that enables him to sympathize with various cultural backgrounds today. By enveloping this dual mindset of society, Cremona has developed an impartial writingstyle capable of communicating with a wide variety of backgrounds effectively, whom, in his words, is to see as either blue, or white, or some shade thereof (195) In other words, the author explains that he can adopt either method of communication from blue collar and white collar societies individually, or blend the two styles together. By doing so, Cremona harnesses the authoritative terminology of white collar speech, while exhibiting the loud and brash nature of blue collar speech in one format to help achieve the intended audience reaction. (196) This point is demonstrated in the author s earlier example, where after filing a complaint to an airline while utilizing this writing format, swift action was taken by the firm to compensate Cremona for his trouble. Cremona s ability to persuade the airline was due, in part, to the author s ability to convey emotion plainly and effectively through written words alone, thanks to his utilization of blue collar speech; Cremona himself views this form of expression as basic, bold, and workman like [sic]. Competition is no longer simply down to product and instead organisations have to take other things into consideration, particularly their strategy for success. Companies have to look for a way to diversify themselves from their competitors in the market and the main way of doing this is to focus on their mind set. This essay will look to evaluate the extent to which global competitiveness is becoming more about mind set versus mind set or whether companies still depend on product versus product as their foundation of success (Hamel and Prahalad, 1993, p77). It represents the revolutionary violence through which humanity loses its religious morality and a new, savage standard is created. A Historian lens reveals Dickens condemnation of the bloodthirsty revolution that has normalized violence and stripped the people of humanity. He emphasizes the power of the guillotine as the symbol of the revolution, and how the revolution has overlooked its Christian values. Dickens describes the guillotine as the sign of the regeneration of the human race, Revolutionists replace the cross with the guillotine, and it is also worshiped where the cross isn t wanted. Throughout the novel, Dickens emphasizes the idea of regeneration, or resurrection. He explains the guillotine has resurrected the human race as new beings no longer bound by the cross. I heard a variety of answers from different students. He went on to say that we give up certain freedoms when we go into different places because everyone has differing beliefs about how things should work. In order to understand this more completely, Aristotlesays, For even if the end is the same for a single man and for a state, that of the state seems at all events though it is worth while to attain the end merely for one man, it is finer and more godlike to attain it for a nation or for city states (Nicomachean Ethics, 66). Aristotle believes that the state and the individual should work hand in hand to be successful. Also, he believes that a human s natural desire is to be happy. Therefore, if the government and the individual were working hand in hand then both parties should be happy. People are born to be governed, he argues. According to Aristotle, laws should express human nature. The laws should line up with what we believe. Aristotle also points out that there is no such thing as personal morality. Therefore, no need to challenge the authority of the government. Parts of Aristotle s view agree with what the person I interviewed said about this question, but other parts do not. • 41. The Positive And Negative Cons Of Credit Cards For many years, there has been an ongoing debate whether using credit cards is a positive or a negative idea. On the positive side, credit cards are a widely accepted method of payment across the globe. One of the benefits of using your credit for payment is foreign travel, when you are traveling out of the country it saves you from having to exchange your dollars for the local currency, your credit cardcompany calculates the exchange rate for you and automatically posts the correct charges to your account. (Yuille). In addition, credit cards are great for emergency situations where you find yourself in the position of having to spend a large sum of money that you had not budgeted for and may not have the money readily available. These unforeseen expenditures can then be worked into a monthly budget and be paid off in a series of monthly installments (Yuille). For instance, making a large purchase with a credit card and promptly making your monthly payments until the debt is satisfied, could improve your credit score which can help qualify for future loans should the need arise (Detweiler). Furthermore, many credit card programs have rewards programs you may be eligible for. Such as, being eligible to receive a percentage of your purchase as a cash back reward, earning airline frequent flyer miles for each dollar you charge to your credit card and often you are offered discounts on daily purchases (Vanderpool). Spiral Of Wants Analysis Spiral of Wantings From a Neuroscience perspective, I learned how neuroscientists have identified different pleasure centers in the brain relating to wanting or craving and another area relating to feelings of deeper satisfaction. Drs. Wright wrote about the brain s pleasure centers: Dopamine is released in our brain when we anticipate and indulge our wants or cravings, while opioids are released when we meet deeper needs. I was beginning to understand how my short term indulgences such as chocolate provided dopamine satisfaction, which is not lasting. Yet when I meet deeper yearnings, such as connecting with a friend and feeling felt, opioids are released. As I learned about the spiral of wantings, I began to see how I was mistaking my dopamine induced feelings for gratifying satisfaction. I became more aware of my Yearnings to feel comfort from my own anxiety and sadness. This is when I quit drinking alcohol on a regular basis. . Circuit Conditioning Is A Workout Scheme Tabata circuit conditioning is a workout scheme which was founded by Doctor Izumi Tabata from the National Institute of Sports and Fitness in Tokyo, in 1996 (Tabata et al., 1996). The first stages of the Tabata circuit began in the midst of coaching the Japanese speed skating team as he conducted a study using an interval based training model (Tabata et al., 1996). The main objective of the research conducted in 1996 was to identify whether it was possible to improve the performance of his elite levelled skating team by using a certain protocol. As a result, Doctor Izumi was able to create a time efficient workout which builds muscle, burns fat and increases VO2 max (Tabata et al., 1996). The workout is a combination of eight short repeated exercises which last a total of four minutes. The eight intervals are broken down into twenty seconds of intense exercise, followed by a ten second rest (Tabata et al., 1996). With academic evidence, this literature review will analyse Tabata circuit and establish how it has progressed from use for aerobic training to then into a workout. According to the American council on exercise (2016), An effective cardiovascular and muscular conditioning program can be accomplished in a short period of time, but only if the level of intensity is extremely high . The South fought the American Civil War as a movement to separate themselves from the Union and establish its own national citizenship. As a result of their resounding loss, Southerners chose to focus their energies on maintaining their individual ethnic group which sets them apart from the rest of the nation. According to John Shelton Reed, author of The Enduring South, The three functional characteristics of an ethnic group are that: It serves psychologically as a source of group identification; it provides a pattern network of groups; and it refracts the national cultural patterns of behavior and values through the prism of its own cultural heritage. Reed allows his readers to grasp the intensity in which Southerners met, and still meet today, all three of the functional characteristics of an ethnic group. Throughout his book, Reed purposes to enlighten the reader that Southern ness is attained by three different measures: birth, achievement, or unwilling thrust (such as the African Americans who were brought to America under duress). The Enduring South exposes the element of Southern identity as pride in its heritage, culture, customs, and ideals. Photons from the light excite electrons in the accessory pigments in the leaves which then causes them to eventually transfer their energy to the chlorophyll a molecule in the reaction center which causes an electron to jump to a primary electron acceptor, thus moving the energy along. When this electron jumps, the photolysis of water occurs in order fill the electron hole in the chlorophyll a molecules. H2O splits into electrons, H+ ions, and oxygen. Moreover, spinach photosynthetic pigment absorbed light optimally between wavelengths of 400 nm and 450 nm and also at 650 nm (Lederer). This means that the blue wavelengths (being at 491 nm) were 41 nm higher that the optimally absorbed wavelengths. On the other hand, the red wavelengths of the filter were only 17 nm over 650 nm and therefore were much closer to the optimal absorbed light. The shorter distance between the red wavelengths shows that the red filter was closest to the wavelength that spinach would get the most out of.
