To protect your children from harm this Halloween, keep in mind the following Halloween pedestrian
safety tips.
Consider an alternative to trick or treating. There are many great Halloween and fall activities for
families throughout the North San Diego County area. You can avoid the dangers of trick or treating
by attending one of these events. However, always keep children close and hold hands when crossing
parking lots. Parking lots are common locations for pedestrian accidents.
Always go trick or treating with your children. The best way to protect your child is to go with your
child so that you can supervise your child as he or she is crossing the street and navigating the

Why Ipv6 May Be Adopted Later Rather Than Sooner
By this report I would like to explain the reasons for why IPV6 may be adopted later rather than
sooner. This report provides an information about what is IP, brief background on next version of IP,
IPv6. A review of the differences between IPv4 and IPV6, transition to ipv6, the features and benefits
of IPv6,barriers of IPV6,what are the risks will occur while moving to IPV6 from IPV4.
(IP)Internet Protocol:
The Internet Protocol (IP) is the most broadly utilized protocol as a part of web communications
because of its consistent communication technology . such a variety of individuals are relying upon
the protocol, because of the security examinations the IP got numerous patches and modification as it
has been sent comprehensively.
The present utilizing IP forms are IPv4 and IPv6 .Due to a few limitations of IPv4, IPv6 was created
IPV4 Limitations :
The principle purpose behind IPV4 tiredness arrives are more number of web clients and this number
is expanding day by day ,obviously the cell phones which are utilizing web connections are
additionally expanding excessively .
Most of the present IPv4 usage must be configured either physically or utilizing a Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP). so there is a requirement for straightforward and more programmed
designs because of more PCs and devices utilizing IP.
At the Internet layer there is a prerequisite of extra security solution (IPv6 features concepts and
configurations) so all the above limitations of

The Relationship Between Divorce And Love In American...
Today, divorce has become a common cultural and historical concern and an American way of life
(Whitehead). This essay studies the relationship between divorce and love as presented in numerous
realist literary works from the turn of the century, including A Modern Instance by William Dean
Howells, Marry Me: A Romance by John Updike, and The Custom of the Country by Edith Wharton.
Closely reviewing these novels, I examine love as well as divorce, which saw a remarkable increase
between the years 1880 and 1920. Moving the topic of divorce to the forefront illuminates love in real
life and helps us understand the ways in which these realists were actively participating in and
engaging with the issues of society during their era, rather than exposing life as they saw it. In each of
these novels, this old fashioned subject of love or romance is presented with a sort of sympathetic
disdain, creating a tension in these texts rendered thematically by the disruptive subject of divorce and
informed by contradictory beautiful and social priorities that shape an analysis of the present and the
past on which it depends. A closer glimpse at divorce in American literature is captivating because
love has played a central role in the history of literature as a whole. It has been demonstrated that love
has served as a complex conceptual formal function in the development of literature through each era.
Love and marriage have been pivotal to the plot and shape of literary works, serving as

The Dormant Threat of Smallpox
Introduction/Background/History: Small Pox is an infectious disease that causes a fever and rash. The
term pox comes from the Latin word for spotted. It also refers to the raised bumps that appear on the
face and body of an infected person. Small Pox is cause by the Variola virus that appeared many years
ago. There are two rudimentary patterns of small pox: Variola minor and Variola major, which is the
worst and most common of the two. The earliest known death was Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses. Could it
be a coincidence that the disease also originated from Eygpt? Edward Jenner was the man in 1796. He
was experimenting and proved that small pox was closely related to cow pox. He would then make a
key breakthrough in his discovery by concluding that it would protect against smallpox.
Small Pox out breaks have been going on ever since the Egyptians; however, eradication of the
disease has become a worldwide look. The last case of the disease in the United States was in 1949.
Somalia was the last outbreak in 1977 before stoppage of the vaccine began. People felt like it was not
necessary to get the vaccine for prevention. The only place you can find the disease is in laboratories.
However, after September 11th 2001, there is intensified concern with the variola virus. The U.S.
government has fears that it might be used as an agent of bioterrorism. Any signs of Small Pox
outbreaks with have many apprehensions of a terrorist attack.

CHAPTER TWO LITERATURE REVIEW UNIVERSITY ADMISSION University admission is the
process through which students enter education tertiary education universities. Systems vary widely
from country to country, and sometimes from institution to institution. In many countries, prospective
university students apply for admission during their last year of high school community college . In
some countries, there are independent organizations or government agencies to centralize the
administration of standardized admission exams and the processing of applications Nigeria ,
undergraduate admissions into universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, and colleges of education and
agriculture is administered by a centralized federal government agency known as the Joint Admissions

Resourcing Talent (3RTO)
Activity 1 Word Count: 1272
Identify and assess at least 4 factors that affect an organization s approach to attracting talent.
Market Demand/Supply for Talent:
Depending on the nature of the business, organizations will require various sets of talents (skill,
knowledge and capabilities) that contribute towards the their growth and success. Markets in general
have high supply of some talents and low of others. Based on the talent requirement of the
organization and the market in which it operates, it will have to alter its approach towards attracting
the required talent. This may involve adjusting factors like remuneration, long short term benefits,
career prospects, trainings, etc.

In addition to being cost effective it can also provide incentive for the existing employees to perform
better in their current roles to get promoted quickly. This can have a positive impact on the overall
performance of the organization
Newspaper Ads:
This is a quick and easy way to notify the market about the available jobs in the company and attract a
large number of candidates. Newspaper ads are also less costly compared to using headhunters for
finding the right candidate.
Recruitment Fairs:
Recruitment fairs can be very cost and time efficient, particularly in to fulfill bulk recruitment needs
of the organization. This also gives companies the opportunity to connect with other potential talent
that might not be immediately required by the company, but, helps in building a great talent pipeline
for future talent needs.
Having compiled a list of candidates who are interested in the job, the task now is to select one of
them. Below are some types of selection procedures and their advantages:
Application forms
These provide key information about the candidate in structured and consistent manner that is needed
for a specific position. It speeds up the initial screening process. They can also form the basic starting
point of the personnel record and are generally very easy to use and record.

Airway Obstruction In COPD
The presence of airflow obstruction which is largely irreversible is a major feature of COPD. It is
proposed to be the result of a combination of small airways narrowing, airway wall inflammation [89]
and emphysema related loss of lung elastic recoil [1, 90, 91]. The pathologic features of COPD are
structural changes of the lung, including emphysema and small airway remodelling [92]. Small airway
remodelling in COPD is characterized by adventitial fibrosis and mucus cell hyperplasia, and may
involve increased airway smooth muscle (ASM) mass, particularly in severe disease [92 96]. This is
indicated by persistent infiltration of inflammatory cells, including macrophages, neutrophils and T
and B lymphocytes in the airway wall [94 96]. Small airway remodelling could also result from direct
effects of CS and LPS exposure on structural cells of the airway wall, independent of inflammation
[9]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why Is Rite Of Passage And Varieties Of Human Beings And...
If we take a close look at human origins, development and varieties of human beings and their
societies from a personal perspective, we can to comprehend ones culture from their point of view.
Observing another culture without your personal convictions influencing your hypothesis is nearly
impossible. With this being said, we must utilize the emic and etic methods during observation, as
instructed by anthropologists. These two different methods let the researcher obtain perspective from
the outside and from within the social group. In most cases we observe from an outsiders view (etic),
but to actually understand and experience another culture or society, one must become an insider
(emic), or become part of the culture to fully understand the viewpoints of another social group.
During the course of this paper I will examine and explain the importance of rite of passage through
etic perspective in order to portray the view of an outsider. The experience that I encountered and its
importance in the society in which I lived in will be discussed. I will explain the significance of the
rite of passage and the consequences based on historical events. Rites of passage are something that
was more accepted in past generations, still existing today just not as evident as they once were. I will
also examine the extreme following of suicide terrorists in the Middle East region, their methods of
recruiting and motivations that drive them to execute these evil orders. I will compare the

The Importance Of Childhood In Medieval Art
Childhood is an important part of the life of an individual. This is because childhood determines to a
greater extent the behavior and personality of an individual in adulthood based on the environment
they are brought up. Ideally, every individual has some childhood memories of pictures in stacks of
albums in the house. This demonstrates the importance of childhood in the development of an
individual. However, ancient artists do not share these sentiments, as they did not portray the
importance of childhood in early paintings and pictures. Aries (1996) pointed out Medieval art did
until about the twelfth century did not know childhood or did not attempt to portray it (p.33, which
demonstrates that ancient artists did not view or assumed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The thirteenth century demonstrated or represented childhood in a concept closer to the current
representation. Childhood representation changed in the thirteenth century as art embodied aspects of
childhood compared to miniature small scale representation. Ideally, the evolution towards a realistic
and sentimental representation of childhood begins with the childhood of Jesus. The representation of
Jesus on His mother s arms led to family representations that demonstrated childhood characteristics.
However, a more realistic and sentimental childhood representation revolved around Jesus until the
fourteenth century when the
Italian art helped to develop and spread an ideal childhood representation.
The gothic period produced yet another type of childhood representation. This period saw the
representation of a naked child. The previous representation seldom represented a naked child, except
in cases of innocence and death. The allegory of death and soul introduced child nudity in the
medieval period. Nonetheless, the concept of Holy Childhood continued to develop in both variety
and scope from the thirteenth century onwards. The progress of Holy Childhood showed the progress
of the idea of childhood that was lacking in the previous centuries.

Taking a Look at Polylactic Acid Polymers
Introduction
Investigations into developing a more sustainable and eco friendly aspect of every day life are
becoming a major priority. Without such investigations or developments in not only the food
packaging sectors, but in many other major industries, this planet along with its inhabitants will surely
succumb to the human lust of consumerism and ultimately the waste that such hunger produces. The
implantation of ecofriendly green packaging options would see a sharp decline in the amount of waste
that is produced each year and give the ability to recycle and to produce new items from previously
used packaging. In this report the team discuss the concept of biodegradable plastics and their future
implementation as green food packaging alternatives to the current form of non eco friendly plastics
that are in existing use. Biodegradability refers to a composites ability to be degraded by bacteria or
other living organisms, plastics such as these can also be susceptible to water and ultraviolet rays as
sources of decomposition with this aspect being discussed within the chapters of this report. As apart
of this report, team members assess the discovery, life cycle as well as the current or future
applications of three different types of bio plastic. Contained within is discussion on Poly Lactic Acid,

The Silk Road And The Silk Road
As the people of ancient times begin to trade from long distances within their respective countries
many country leaders begin to wonder whether it was possible to create a road that connected the
Mediterranean countries to the Chinese countries by way of Mesopotamia and Central Asian.
Basically with all these countries trading with and long distances these trading routes begin to link
from the Mediterranean to Central Asia and part of East Asia best becoming known as the Silk Road
which in those times was used by many countries starting with the Parthians a ruling Dynasty from
Iran.
Furthermore while the Silk Road progress many countries begin to trade fruits medicines metals
artwork products and many other things with each other. By 200 BCE many Persian products were in
China and many Asian products were in Persia so naturally many countries were able to acquire things
that they had never seen before from another country so people were able to have those rare that were
so rare before the invention of the Silk Road. Also the invention brought better communication
between those countries in which they didn t really have before the Silk Road because of the long
distances and difficulties between the countries that wanted to communicate with each other.
Mainly the Silk Road could not have really function without the nomads in central Asia because the
nomads were able to provide animals Animal handlers and protection what made the pastoral nomads
so important was that they

Nep Vs Gp Essay
A) How do the controls over NEP and NECB differ from the controls over GPP and decomposition?
Why are these controls different? (Chapter 7)
Net ecosystem carbon balance (NECB) is the net rate of carbon accumulation by an ecosystem. It is
the change in ecosystem carbon stock over time. Net ecosystem production (NEP) is the total amount
of carbon moving into an ecosystem minus the total respiration of the ecosystem (GPP Recosytem).
Where gross primary productivity (GPP) is the sum of all photosynthetic activity measured at the
ecosystem scale. Decomposition is the conversion of dead organic matter into CO2, mineral nutrients,
and organic compounds through the processes of leaching, fragmentation, and chemical alteration. All
of these concepts are interrelated and fit into NECB, but the controls differ in some substantial ways.
GPP is controlled by amount of photosynthetic tissue, the duration of the activity (including
environmental stressors), and soil resources (water and nutrients). This represents the largest carbon
flux into the system and one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fungi typically have a suite of different enzymes capable of breaking down different types of plant
compounds (lignin, cellulose, etc.). On the other hand, bacteria and archaea may only produce one or
some of the necessary enzymes to break down these same compounds. In order for bacteria to break
down those more complex compounds they have to form a consortium where each contributes a
particular enzyme, each of which contributes to breaking certain bonds within those compounds. For
example, cellulose breakdown requires a suite of three different enzyme systems: endocellulases break
down the internal bonds, the exocellulases remove the ends of the chains, this forms cellobiose, which
can be absorbed, but is further broken down by cellobiase intercellularly to create

culmination of decades of research and experience on change efforts within a broad range of
organizations. For each step, Dr. Kotter provides techniques, examples of failure in change
implementation, and examples of success (Kotter, 2012). Ultimately, it provides a framework for
change as John Kotter s Eight Stage Change Process.
The book has three parts. The first part discusses change as a necessary component for an organization

Taking a Look at Natioanl Parks
A national park is an area set aside by a nation s government to protect natural beauty, wildlife, or
other remarkable features. Some national parks protect entire environments like coral reefs, deserts,
grasslands, mountain ranges, or rain forests. Today about 1,500 national parks protect about 1.5
million square miles. Theodore Roosevelt had a huge impact on the national parks we know today.
The three I found most interesting include The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Sequoia
National Park, and the Everglades National Park.
Theodore Teddy Roosevelt had a huge impact on the national park system that extended well beyond
his term in office. Teddy Roosevelt first came to the Badlands in September 1883. Big game hunting
had initially brought him to the west, as he spent more time in this area, he became more and more
alarmed by the damage that was being done to the land and the wildlife. After this, conservation
became one of Roosevelt s main concerns. After he became president in 1901, Roosevelt used his
authority to protect wildlife and public lands by creating the U.S. Forest Service. He also established
fifty one federal bird reservations, four national game services, one hundred and fifty national forests,
five national parks and created the Antiquities Act which he used to officially declare eighteen
national monuments. Roosevelt has been called many times our country s Conservation President He
is remembered with a National Park that bears

Evaluation Of Single Cylinder Direct Injection Essay
This paper presents exergetic evaluation of single cylinder direct injection, water cooled diesel engine
at varying operating conditions. Normally, first law of thermodynamics has been used to analyze the
engine cycle process. However recent research indicates that the first law of thermodynamics is
inadequate to study the diesel engine performance. Exergy analysis is used to determine in detail the
amounts of losses in a system and locations where they occur, and the processes that cause them so the
application of exergy analysis for diesel engine allows determining the sources of irreversibilities and
obtaining more accurate information about engine efficiency. An Exergy based performance analysis
is based on the second law of thermodynamics that overcomes the limitation of an energy based
analysis.
Consider the advantages of second law of thermodynamics over first law, this study includes exergy
analysis of single cylinder, 4 stroke, water cooled, on a single cylinder 8.1 kW direct injection, diesel
engine. In this study first and second laws of thermodynamics ae applied to analyze the quantity and
quality of energy in diesel engine cycle. The experimental data were collected using steady state test
condition which enables the accurate measurements of air, fuel, and cling water flow rates, engine
load, and all relevant temperatures. Each experiment was performed at five different speeds between

Albrecht V
Early modern collections of 16th and 17th c., transfused with humanistic ideas of theatre of the world
or the microcosm, compiled of natural and man made objects, functioned as microscopic worlds
within the patron s environment over which he had dominion. Cultural history provides the most
applicable theoretical discourse to approach collections as constructs, as they were not divided into
disciplines but were rather elements of a world as a whole, which constituted of objects. Collections
were, therefore, constructions of the conceived reality or conceptual systems through which collectors
interpreted and explored the world they inhabited . Furthermore, early modern collections can be seen
as political structures, in which not only the patron ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jakob Fugger and Jacopo Strada were key figures in the construction of the court library and the
Antiquarium for which they sought acquisitions. Antiquarium that housed a collection of classical
sculptures, developed as the locus for self promotion as a legitimate ruling house that could be traced
back to antiquity through famous ancestors and mythical virtuous models . Furthermore, Samuel
Quiccheberg s account on the ideal museum Inscriptiones played a key role within the collection as it
presented the collection as an order and a concern of the state, an archive of everything connecting to
the history of the present reign. Thus, Abrecht V s passion for building a universal collection
correlated with Samuel Quiccheberg s theoretical considerations, in which practice and theory
supplemented each other . The example of Albrecht V collection in Munich, thus, provides an example
of a collection functioning as a construct of political legitimacy. Transfused with humanistic approach
towards collecting that focused on creation of the microcosm within one s environment through
objects spanning various disciplines, it reflects how cultural history can assist one in dissecting the
ideology behind the collection. In addition, it highlights how various agents were of key importance in
the process, not limited to the patron

The Importance of Using a Condom Essay
The Importance of Using a Condom
In a recent study performed at the University of New Orleans by Dr. Bruce M. King, only 20% of men
reported using a condom consistently, while only 50% reported using protection with a new partner.
The results of condom use or lack there of is clear:
? 2/3 of all STIs occur in people 25 years of age or younger
? By the age of 24, 1 in 3 sexually active people will have contracted an STI
? In 2000, 15 to 19 year old women had the highest rate of gonorrhea compared to all other age
categories. (Sources: American Social Health Association, Centers for Disease Control, and Planned
Parenthood.)
There are many stigmas about using condoms. Many sexually active college students simply don?t ...

Trojan brand condoms offer; ribbed, heat generating, and various other increased sensations condoms
(Trojan.com). The reality of college life also dictates that it may not be reasonably possible to have
sex with out condoms. It often takes a very open and committed relationship in order to have sex
without the use of condoms, and even in these situations other forms of contraceptives are used, such
as female condoms, or birth control. Alcohol and drug use in college often interfere with rational
decision making, therefore the use of condoms should be almost engrained into the brain. The expense
of condoms can be completely eliminated by visiting your college health center or any health clinic
where condoms are offered at no cost.
Many college students may believe that using a condom is awkward or embarrassing, however, there
is no question as to the benefits they convey on the person and partner using them. First, condoms are
98 percent effective in preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly (www.siecus.org).
An unwanted pregnancy can dramatically affect ones goals and ambitions in college, by simply using
a condom this can almost always be avoided. Secondly, using a latex condom to prevent transmission
of HIV is more than 10,000 times safer than not using a condom. Also, Several studies have
demonstrated that condoms can protect against the transmission of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and
trichomoniasis, and may

John Adams And Thomas Jefferson
John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were two revolutionaries who helped birth a nation through an idea
of the United States. This idea included the equality of all men and their freedoms, such as religion,
speech and liberties. Both Jefferson and Adams became politicians and rose to the position of
President of the United States. John Adams took the position as the second President of the United
States after serving as George Washington s Vice President. Adams served as President from March 4,
1797 to March 4, 1801. Thomas Jefferson succeeded his Predecessor and was voted in as President
after Adams s first term, making him the third President of the United States. As Presidents of the
United Sates, their duties were to uphold laws and values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adams secured the peace treaty with France, and he was in favor of the abolition of slavery. These are
just a few examples of his dedication and devotion to this country.
Thomas Jefferson had some good ideas that he never put into action, and often people believed that he
was a bit hypocritical, or far fetched. Indeed, Jefferson s words often soared beyond his actions,
leading to enigmatic inconsistencies in his personality that some saw as hypocritical. (A Magnificent
catastrophe 15).
Adams and those calling themselves Federalists saw a strong central government led by a powerful
president as vital for a prosperous, secure nation. (A Magnificent Catastrophe 18). John Adams was a
leader of the Federalist Party, which was the first political party in the United States. One of the
biggest ideals for this political party is to have a national bank. Adams supported urban, big businesses
as well as a national bank. Federalists strived for a strong, central government, so a national bank
would be a part of this vision. Adams received strong support from bankers and merchants from the
northern states. Adams swept the northern states, gaining votes from every elector in New England,
New York, and New Jersey. (A Magnificent Catastrophe 31). Adams s rival, Thomas Jefferson, was a
leader of the Democratic Republican Party. This political party supported a stronger state based
government and a

Online Class Vs. Traditional Classes
Many more people would enjoy school if it was convenient to their time. A great solution to this
problem is online classes. Some wonder if online classes are just as educational as traditional classes,
and if the discussions are as easy to understand without the face to face interaction with the instructor.
In this paper I will be discussing how online classes can be just as educational and are more
convenient to those who have busy schedules. The points of comparison are assignments, testing and
materials, convenience and interaction/discussions. First, the assignments for both classes both require
resource materials like text books. For traditional class students the assignments are homework , but
online students do all of their work at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditional classes offer a more face to face social interaction and allow students to meet fellow
classmates easier than those who are taking online classes. The discussion for online classes is based
on comments and emails sent between each other. Those in online classes are barely able to talk to
professors due to slow feedback and they are not able to communicate easily with classmate unless
they reach out through chat rooms or emails. This is difficult because students are unaware of others
schedules and it is harder to reach out because they may be busy at the times you are not. An
advantage of online classes is you are able to learn from professors around the world which allows
you to broaden your perspective and learn from different viewpoints. Overall, the only major
difference between online and traditional classes is the interaction. Traditional classes give more
interaction between your teacher and classmates, compared to online classes. Online classes can be
harder depending on what kind of learner you are, due to the lack of face to face interaction between
the student and professor. Online classes are more convenient to your time and they are just as
educational. Both kinds of classes have tests and assignments just in a different learning

Summary Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly
Fallacious by Description There is a mystery that consumes all when it comes to understanding life
itself. This has led to several theories to explain mans troubling thoughts and wonders. People are
used to having an answer to everything; however, some things will never be fully explained. Even
when reading The Bible, Qur an, or The Tanakh; some of the things they teach are still vague and do
not quite have the answers to everything. In a lot of ways people go to these readings for comfort and
guidance, as seen in Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. Yet, they also shape these beliefs to form an idea as
to how man acts and how he should respond to the world around him. The sculpting of mankind has
created a danger that is almost apathetic to humanities mind. When messing with the secrets of nature
there are situations that can be led to horrendous insinuations when taking the power to create a life
out of something already lifeless and a product of corruption, and trying to make it perfect. The idea or
nature of a monster during the time of 1818 was seen primarily as unconventionality from what
humanity saw as normal. It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it
was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that
occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical
secrets of the world (Shelley, 34). This explains Victor s obsession over

American Born Chinese Essay 1
American Born Chinese was a book that I would have initially missed reading because it didn t appeal
to me then. However, it wasn t until the three narratives intertwined at the end that I realized that this
was a great read. Jin, Danny, and the Monkey King all have one thing in common; they try to become
something they are not, and they lose their sense of identity until the realization of the truth that we
cannot fight who we really are. Jin comes to America and desperately tries to fit in with his classmates
and assimilate. The Monkey King tried to become something greater than himself, and become an
equal with the other deities. Danny is what looks to be a normal high school student, but is plagued by
his Chinese cousin s visits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In Order To Make This Renovation A Reality, Siue Must Choose
In order to make this renovation a reality, SIUE must choose a company or companies to assist in the

You are likely going to start looking at apartment complexes and houses around the area that make
you feel more at home and are way more appealing than what you are currently living in. Not only are
you removing yourself to such quick access to your university and its resources, but now you are
spending your money elsewhere, when it could be going right back to your college if they would have
provided you a more positive experience your first year. I know this because I went through it. Living
in the dorms has not been the greatest experience, and all I can think about is how I can not wait to get
out and live in a more appealing apartment next year. Of course I could move into an upperclassmen
dorm building, or even the on campus apartments, but I definitely will not be doing that after the
campus housing experience my university has provided me this year. My dorm room and building
SCREAM boring and outdated. It has affected me and my experience so much that I am choosing to
spend hundreds of dollars more someplace else just because I can not stand it anymore. As a result,
modernizing and refurbishing dorm rooms on college campuses across the United States will not only
solve the issue of them having a bad wrap, but will also bring in more revenue for the college because
it will attract more prospective students, and first year students will have a more valuable experience
which resulting in them staying on campus again in the approaching

Crime In Prison Research Paper

to have an insatiable fascination with what goes on inside prisons. Moviegoers flock to see Hollywood

Lab Report On The Bacteria
Introduction
The primary goal of this lab was to notice the bacteria growth in each tube/plates and to be able to
properly inoculated the media to get a good result.
Materials
4 Nutrient Broths
4 Agar Slants
4 Agar Deeps
4 Petri Dish
1 loop and needle
Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus Samples
Procedures
1. Label all of the tubes and petri dishes with the name of the bacteria and my lab partner and I initial,
but leave one of each media as a control and label it with the letter C.
2. Sterilize loop or needle
3. Using the loop grab a sample of B.S and streak it onto the first plate. Second plate and third plate
you repeat the same steps, but instead using one for E.C. and the other one for S.A.
4. For the three nutrient broth you first sterilize the loop and grab a sample of B.S and inoculated by
spinning it in a circular motion inside the tube and then repeat the same method for the other two
bacteria.
5. The next thing is to grab your Agar slant tube, sterilize the loop, take a sample of B.S and inoculate
it inside the tube and gently do a snakelike motion from bottom to the top. Repeat the steps for the
other bacteria.
6. Lastly, for the Agar deep, sterilize the needle, grab a sample of B.S and inoculated it by simply
pushing the needle straight down about three quarters and then slowly bring the needle out. Repeat the
same steps for the other two bacteria.
7. Inoculate the media s in 35oC until the next lab period.

  • 5. The Relationship Between Divorce And Love In American... Today, divorce has become a common cultural and historical concern and an American way of life (Whitehead). This essay studies the relationship between divorce and love as presented in numerous realist literary works from the turn of the century, including A Modern Instance by William Dean Howells, Marry Me: A Romance by John Updike, and The Custom of the Country by Edith Wharton. Closely reviewing these novels, I examine love as well as divorce, which saw a remarkable increase between the years 1880 and 1920. Moving the topic of divorce to the forefront illuminates love in real life and helps us understand the ways in which these realists were actively participating in and engaging with the issues of society during their era, rather than exposing life as they saw it. In each of these novels, this old fashioned subject of love or romance is presented with a sort of sympathetic disdain, creating a tension in these texts rendered thematically by the disruptive subject of divorce and informed by contradictory beautiful and social priorities that shape an analysis of the present and the past on which it depends. A closer glimpse at divorce in American literature is captivating because love has played a central role in the history of literature as a whole. It has been demonstrated that love has served as a complex conceptual formal function in the development of literature through each era. Love and marriage have been pivotal to the plot and shape of literary works, serving as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is proposed to be the result of a combination of small airways narrowing, airway wall inflammation [89] and emphysema related loss of lung elastic recoil [1, 90, 91]. The pathologic features of COPD are structural changes of the lung, including emphysema and small airway remodelling [92]. This is because childhood determines to a greater extent the behavior and personality of an individual in adulthood based on the environment they are brought up. Ideally, every individual has some childhood memories of pictures in stacks of albums in the house. This demonstrates the importance of childhood in the development of an individual. The representation of Jesus on His mother s arms led to family representations that demonstrated childhood characteristics. However, a more realistic and sentimental childhood representation revolved around Jesus until the fourteenth century when the Italian art helped to develop and spread an ideal childhood representation. The gothic period produced yet another type of childhood representation. This period saw the representation of a naked child. The previous representation seldom represented a naked child, except in cases of innocence and death. The allegory of death and soul introduced child nudity in the medieval period. Nonetheless, the concept of Holy Childhood continued to develop in both variety and scope from the thirteenth century onwards. • 19. Nep Vs Gp Essay A) How do the controls over NEP and NECB differ from the controls over GPP and decomposition? Why are these controls different? (Chapter 7) Net ecosystem carbon balance (NECB) is the net rate of carbon accumulation by an ecosystem. It is the change in ecosystem carbon stock over time. Net ecosystem production (NEP) is the total amount of carbon moving into an ecosystem minus the total respiration of the ecosystem (GPP Recosytem). Where gross primary productivity (GPP) is the sum of all photosynthetic activity measured at the ecosystem scale. Decomposition is the conversion of dead organic matter into CO2, mineral nutrients, and organic compounds through the processes of leaching, fragmentation, and chemical alteration. All of these concepts are interrelated and fit into NECB, but the controls differ in some substantial ways. GPP is controlled by amount of photosynthetic tissue, the duration of the activity (including environmental stressors), and soil resources (water and nutrients). This represents the largest carbon flux into the system and one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fungi typically have a suite of different enzymes capable of breaking down different types of plant compounds (lignin, cellulose, etc.). On the other hand, bacteria and archaea may only produce one or some of the necessary enzymes to break down these same compounds. In order for bacteria to break down those more complex compounds they have to form a consortium where each contributes a particular enzyme, each of which contributes to breaking certain bonds within those compounds. For example, cellulose breakdown requires a suite of three different enzyme systems: endocellulases break down the internal bonds, the exocellulases remove the ends of the chains, this forms cellobiose, which can be absorbed, but is further broken down by cellobiase intercellularly to create ... Dr. Kotter is well qualified in the field of change management. He has a MS in Management from MIT, a doctorate from Harvard Business School, and was a full time professor from Harvard. Furthermore, Dr. Kotter is a co founder of Kotter International, which applies his research and advisory services for clients. He has written several books and published numerous articles in professional journals (Kotter International, 2015). Twenty one respected scholars and professionals peer reviewed Leading Change. This book is a culmination of decades of research and experience on change efforts within a broad range of organizations. For each step, Dr. Kotter provides techniques, examples of failure in change implementation, and examples of success (Kotter, 2012). Ultimately, it provides a framework for change as John Kotter s Eight Stage Change Process. The book has three parts. The first part discusses change as a necessary component for an organization to stay relevant. Handling initiatives rapidly are necessary in unstable environments. Some national parks protect entire environments like coral reefs, deserts, grasslands, mountain ranges, or rain forests. Today about 1,500 national parks protect about 1.5 million square miles. Theodore Roosevelt had a huge impact on the national parks we know today. The three I found most interesting include The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Sequoia National Park, and the Everglades National Park. Theodore Teddy Roosevelt had a huge impact on the national park system that extended well beyond his term in office. Teddy Roosevelt first came to the Badlands in September 1883. Big game hunting had initially brought him to the west, as he spent more time in this area, he became more and more alarmed by the damage that was being done to the land and the wildlife. After this, conservation became one of Roosevelt s main concerns. After he became president in 1901, Roosevelt used his authority to protect wildlife and public lands by creating the U.S. Forest Service. He also established fifty one federal bird reservations, four national game services, one hundred and fifty national forests, five national parks and created the Antiquities Act which he used to officially declare eighteen national monuments. • 22. Evaluation Of Single Cylinder Direct Injection Essay This paper presents exergetic evaluation of single cylinder direct injection, water cooled diesel engine at varying operating conditions. Normally, first law of thermodynamics has been used to analyze the engine cycle process. However recent research indicates that the first law of thermodynamics is inadequate to study the diesel engine performance. Exergy analysis is used to determine in detail the amounts of losses in a system and locations where they occur, and the processes that cause them so the application of exergy analysis for diesel engine allows determining the sources of irreversibilities and obtaining more accurate information about engine efficiency. An Exergy based performance analysis is based on the second law of thermodynamics that overcomes the limitation of an energy based analysis. Consider the advantages of second law of thermodynamics over first law, this study includes exergy analysis of single cylinder, 4 stroke, water cooled, on a single cylinder 8.1 kW direct injection, diesel engine. In this study first and second laws of thermodynamics ae applied to analyze the quantity and quality of energy in diesel engine cycle. The experimental data were collected using steady state test condition which enables the accurate measurements of air, fuel, and cling water flow rates, engine load, and all relevant temperatures. Each experiment was performed at five different speeds between 1300 rev/min and 2400 rev/min at intervals of 300 rev/min for five different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Summary Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly Fallacious by Description There is a mystery that consumes all when it comes to understanding life itself. This has led to several theories to explain mans troubling thoughts and wonders. People are used to having an answer to everything; however, some things will never be fully explained. Even when reading The Bible, Qur an, or The Tanakh; some of the things they teach are still vague and do not quite have the answers to everything. In a lot of ways people go to these readings for comfort and guidance, as seen in Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. Yet, they also shape these beliefs to form an idea as to how man acts and how he should respond to the world around him. The sculpting of mankind has created a danger that is almost apathetic to humanities mind. When messing with the secrets of nature there are situations that can be led to horrendous insinuations when taking the power to create a life out of something already lifeless and a product of corruption, and trying to make it perfect. The idea or nature of a monster during the time of 1818 was seen primarily as unconventionality from what humanity saw as normal. It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical secrets of the world (Shelley, 34).
