Essay On Communism
Crafting an essay on the subject of communism is a challenging endeavor that demands a
comprehensive understanding of political ideologies, historical contexts, and economic theories.
The intricacies associated with communism, as both a theoretical concept and a practical
political system, require meticulous research and a nuanced approach to effectively address its
multifaceted nature.
To begin with, one must delve into the origins of communism, exploring the philosophical
underpinnings laid out by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. This involves grappling with complex
ideas such as historical materialism, class struggle, and the eventual establishment of a classless
society. Understanding the theoretical framework is just the tip of the iceberg, as one must then
navigate through the historical manifestations of communism in various parts of the world, each
with its unique challenges and outcomes.
Moreover, writing an essay on communism necessitates an exploration of the criticisms and
controversies surrounding this ideology. Analyzing the failures and successes of real-world
communist experiments, such as the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba, requires a delicate balance
between acknowledging the idealistic goals and recognizing the pragmatic limitations.
Furthermore, the economic dimension of communism adds another layer of difficulty. Evaluating
the viability of a planned economy, the role of the state, and the impact on individual freedoms
demands a deep dive into economic theories and empirical evidence. Addressing the ongoing
debates between proponents and opponents of communism requires a nuanced understanding of
contemporary political and economic thought.
The challenge extends to synthesizing diverse perspectives, considering criticisms and
counterarguments, and ultimately presenting a well-rounded and cohesive essay. Striking a
balance between theoretical analysis and real-world examples, without succumbing to
oversimplification or overgeneralization, is a delicate task.
In conclusion, tackling the topic of communism in an essay is an intellectually demanding
endeavor that requires a profound understanding of philosophy, history, and economics.
Navigating through the complexities of this ideology, both in theory and practice, necessitates
careful research, critical analysis, and a nuanced approach. The writer must grapple with
divergent perspectives and construct a coherent narrative that captures the essence of
communism while acknowledging its complexities and controversies.

Blue Jacket Research Paper
If anyone sees me in this blue and gold corduroy jacket there are probably
wondering what on earth it is and why I am wearing so out of date. This blue
course jacket is proudly worn by 81,000 people in Texas. Everyone s jacket stands
for something different to them. My jacket is no different than anyone else s. It
has my name on the front and where I am from on the back. It is my FFA jacket, it
is unique to me. This jacket is worthless to anyone else, but to me it is priceless.
When my age teacher, Mrs. Cox, gave me this jacket three years ago I had no idea
of the journey we were going to go through. This jacket isn t special because it has

Why It Is Important To Become An Organ Donor
Organ donation: a person with healthy organs and tissues allows for them to be
transplanted to those in need, usually after death. Being an organ donor can be as
simple as filling out an information card on the back of your driver s license. It is
easy to do and is a very selfless and caring thing to commit to. Organdonation is a
simple, yet amazing act.
Every day, people in need of vital organs die due to lung failure, heart failure, liver
failure, kidney failure, and other illnesses. In fact, over 120,000 people in the
United States are in need of vital organ transplants. Every day twenty two people on
that list die. Every ten minutes, another person is added to the list. Each year there
are more than one million people waiting for life improving tissues and eyes.
These are not just numbers; they are people who are waiting to receive what is
basically life or death. This sounds like a very large amount of people, but there is
hope. A single... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cause of death is actually what determines if organ donation is an option. Most
people who actually become organ donors suffer fatal head injuries, either from
something like a car accident or a brain aneurysm or stroke. After the person is
admitted to the hospital, if nothing else can be done to save him or her, organ
donation is finally brought into the picture. After death has occurred an examination
of the potential donor s physical and historical status is conducted. In this
examination, a physician examines the current physical state of the potential donor.
For example, if the individual s cause of death damaged certain organs, then those
organs would be ruled out. The medical history of the potential donor is also
examined. For example, the individual being a smoker would determine them
ineligible. If everything checks out the potential recipients are examined to determine
if the operation can be

Although it is a ghost story, A Christmas Carol is an uplifting tale. To what extent do
you agree?
A Christmas carol by Charles Dickens is a significant novella written in the Victorian
era. The protagonist Ebenezer Scrooge is used to demonstrate the upper class society
and their attitude towards the poor. Throughout this redemption story, Dickens
combines a descriptions of hardships faced by the poor with a heart felt sentimental
celebration of the Christmas season. The novella contains a dramatic and comic
element as well as a deep felt moral theme. The text promotes the values of Ebenezer
Scrooge, delving into his past, present and supposed future as well as contrasting
between the enriching and depressing story; specifically ... Show more content on

The author illustrates that Scrooge who is depicted as hard and sharp as a flint is a
greedy miser whom is so old and coldhearted that nothing other than his profits will
phase him. Dickens uses the scene when the ghost of Christmas past, a child like old
man uses flashbacks to show Scrooge of the memories he once made to show the
nature of the much younger character. This is evident when Fan a little girl much
younger than Scrooge had brought out the affection of her older brother as they
planned to be together all the Christmas long, and have the merriest time in all the
world. What is important about this example is not just that it shows the compassion
Scrooge once felt but also that Scrooge is not truly crooked and horrible to the core
establishing the uplifting and inspiring feeling to readers.
The title of the novella, A Christmas Carol, is immediately recognized by the reader
as hardly appropriate for the first stave. Stave one does not resemble the happy and
cheerful world of Christmas trees and presents, but instead the reader is exposed to,
what can only be described as, ghost story features. Ghost stories are meant to be
scary, typically the ghosts that appear in this genre bring nothing but evil, but in this
Disney s Of Race And Culture
Walt Disney s animated classics are prominent and affluential for the millennial
generation and are loved by many people all over the world, preferably by the
western socialized population. Because of its dominance, Disney s subliminal
impacts on children and even adults are presented as an enormous socialization factor
throughout Hollywood. Disney s portrayal of race and culture is predominant
throughout its characters, settings and music, specifically in the last 2 ВЅ decades.
The following analysis investigates Disney s utilization of race and culture,
throughout its films and correlates with its awareness in social responsibility. A
paramount example would be Disney s, A Bug s Life, presenting many key
components of race and culture and how the lives of the main characters are
impacted as a whole.
Culture is defined as The ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people
or society (Oxford Dictionary: 2015). The diversity portrayed in the film A Bug s
Life, embellishes the different types of social hierarchy amongst the different
characters in the film. The colony of ants illustrates a functionalist perspective among
social order. In order for them to keep peace with the demanding grasshoppers, they
must gather an abundance of food, which will keep them and the grasshoppers
nourished until the following year. The ant s way of living is very strategic; they base
most of their days on working in order to fulfill their duty to the grasshoppers. The
Should Middle School Students Get Homework Essay
Homework limits sleep, social life, and causes loads of stress. There s no time for
kids to spend with their family and friends, or do the things they love. Children need
to be able to live a carefree life; enjoying all the time they have left just to be kids.
Middle school students should not get homework.
One of the reasons why homework should not be given to middle school students
is because it causes sleep loss. Students have so much work to do that they have to
stay up all night to finish it. Craig Canapari, a pediatrician specializing in the care
of children with sleeping and breathing problems says, The combination of heavy
homework loads and early school start times is a major cause of sleep deprivation
and consequent stress in teens. In the article, Does Too Much Homework Cause

Deterrence And Its Effect On Society
Deterrence
Joni Montoya

Justice. Deterrence starts in childhood. A parent punishes a child for doing something
forbidden and the child learns that doing this thing will have bad consequences. When
one person or persons attempt to sway the decision of another with the menace of
punishment more threatening than the gains, this is deterrence (Coleman, 2002).
Deterrence is defined as the punishment of socially undesirable behavior as a means
of future prevention (Coleman, 2002). The driving force behind deterrence is the
fear of punishment. Deterrence is part of the Classical theory (South University
Online, 2014). Classical theory states that criminals have free will and make a
deliberate decision to commit a crime. Classical theory has been around since
ancient times. Society has always had rules and punishments. The concept behind
classical theory is that persons will avoid criminal behavior because of the
negative consequences (What, 2014). The role that the family plays is that the
family teaches the children how to behave in society and what will happen if they
deviate from correct and proper behavior. Deterrence causes an individual to decide
whether the gains from the inappropriate behavior outweigh the losses. For
example, a bank robber needs to decide whether the gain, thousands of dollars,
outweighs the loss, years in prison. Deterrence wins if the robber decides not to rob
the bank because for fear of

crab shells also contain useful chemicals that may be used for pharmaceuticals (Chen

Chitosan is obtained through deacetylation of chitin under alkaline conditions the
acetyl group present in chitin is removed and thus the substance is converted into

Remember The Titans Movie And Movie
Remember The Titans is a novel written by Steve Sullivan and is a film directed by
Boaz Yakin. It talks about how Bill Yoast was the real life hero that changed the
struggles of black and white high school football athletes to create a championship
season in racially charged Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972. The plots and characters
are the same in the movie and the book. Much of the movie s dialogue is taken
directly from the book. However, there are many differences in the description of
the characters relationships, the description of the decrease in racial tension, and
the description of the increase in teamwork, unity, and pride. Early in the film,
before training camp, both the white and black players were unhappy with
integration. During the training, there was a scene of training players blocking
and yelling at each other. Also, one of the football players took a screwdriver from
his car and ran towards the demonstrators. However, the beginning of the story
talks about Bill Yoast life. His father was a hobo, Tears filled my eyes as I realized
hobo Yoast was on his way (Bill 2). Bill s first job was as a cotton picker, and he
had to get up early to walk to the field. If you know anything about cotton then you
know you gotta get pickin before the sun slaps you silly. It s an early morning
thing that means you rise a few hours after the moon showed its face. At least I did
because the cotton field where I was going to lived in the boonies (Bill 3). In 1943,

The original ending of the play is mythical which is shown through the incantations
and curses and how we, the audience, are not told of what happens to Johnny
afterwards therefore IН›ve chosen to change the ending and make it more naturalistic
by showing Johnny getting married to Dawn and how he has decided to leave the
Нљold worldН› and join the Нљnew worldН›. After JohnnyН›s speech IН›ve
decided to create a stronger relationship between Ginger and Johnny which carries
on five years later till Johnny and DawnН›s wedding. Through my recreative
approach IН›ve shown how much has changed over the course of five years, that
eventually everyone has to move on from the old world. IН›ve chosen to revolve
JohnnyН›s decision to leave the Нљold worldН›through the words Dawn said to
Johnny when they last saw each other in the play НћThe world turns. And it turns.
And it moves on and you donН›t. YouН›re still hereНџ. By Johnny taking this words
by Dawn and decides to change shows JohnnyН›s intentions to not only build a
relationship between him and Dawn but also to build a relationship with his son
Marky. IН›ve also added how Ginger came back to Johnny apologising despite the
fact he knew he was mad at him. Ginger also convinces Johnny that he is the only
НљtrueН› friend out of everyone where he says НћThatН›s it Johnny (Pause.) They
all left. All of Нљem. Except me. (Beat)Нџ. This changes the story because
throughout the play we realise that Johnny doesnН›t have any real friends that will
be there for him, not even Dawn or Marky who were his family, even though he
was surrounded by a lot of people. Therefore IН›ve chosen to change this by making
Ginger stand out by being JohnnyН›s only true friend that carries on for many years.
This changes from the original story because throughout the play Johnny is
surrounded by a lot of people and by the end he was

Gun Control And School Safety
Guns in the Classroom Destiny Casey Student ID# 000410720 WGU Guns in the
Classroom Allowing teachers to carry guns will allow teachers to prevent school
shootings on the grounds of preschool through college campuses. Everyone has
their own opinion about teachers being able to carry guns including other teachers,
parents, and government officials. Depending on what state the teacher is
teaching in determines if they can carry their gun now, if they are in the process of
being able to, or if their state is not passing a law to allow them to carry their gun
while at school. Teachers would not stand out like police officers or security
officers would while in the school which would allow for other teachers and all of
the students to have normal days if schools did not have officers before. Research
shows that allowing some teachers to carry guns in their school promotes school
safety, protects the teachers and students, and promotes gun safety while still
teaching their students. Guns in schools promote school safety, by allowing teachers
to have guns in the classroom you are letting students and parents know you want
their children to be safe while they are in your school or classroom all day away
from their parents. Bender talks about what teachers can do to prevent weapons in the
classroom and to help other teachers if something arises and they need backup
assistance from another teacher. Preventing guns from being in the classroom rules

Mythology Of Mythology
Many of the television shows and movies that we watch today are connected to
ancient mythology in some way or another. There is usually a hero, a villain or
two, and all the supporting roles that when all are brought together, make up the
movie or television show one is currently watching. But what a lot of people do not
take into consideration when watching movies or television shows, is that the hero
is always fighting for love or fighting out of love; and the same could be said for
ancient mythology. There is love in every story out there, it is all around us, but
most people do not see it because they are not watching the movie or television
show, or reading the book or story for the love aspect (although some stories were
written solely for the love factor). The story of Pyramus and Thisbeis the story that
started the forbidden love; the very first Romeo and Juliet. Pyramus and Thisbe
were lovers who were forbidden to marry by their parents. One night, they devised
a plan to run away together; but when Pyramus was late in meeting Thisbe, Thisbe
encountered a lion and ran for her life. Then when Pyramus finally showed up, he
discovered blood at the meeting spot and concluded that Thisbe had been killed, so
he took his own life so as to not be without her. Then, Thisbe takes her own life
when she discovers what Pyramus has done (Bulfinch, Ch. 3). They both died
because they loved each other so much, and nothing was going to keep them apart,
just as in Romeo and Juliet

Compare And Contrast Ancient Persia And India
Compare and Contrast Ancient Persia and India It is crazy how two different
civilizations from two different times can have such similar ideas about their
economies. But, India, becoming an empire much later than Persia, had some
improved technologies and ideas which made these two civilizations somewhat
different. Persia s main focus of strengthening their economy was the development of
agriculture. By growing crops like grains, fruits, and vegetables, the Persians were
able to acquire a great amount of food, making the population grow and grow.
Fortunately, their location helped them conquer smaller civilizations so they can
gain fertile soil, which is extremely important in agriculture. The abundance of
food that the Persians had helped them trade with other civilizations that couldn t
grow the crops they needed. In return they would receive items that they needed to
help their economy grow. Persia s main trade route was the Persian Royal Road,
which was about 1500 miles long. To transport themselves to deliver a message or
items to trade with, the Persians would have intervals along the road and one horse
would pull one man until he reaches his stop. It would take about nine days to travel
the whole road using couriers, while on footy it would have taken them three months,
making trade and communication very slow. Persia did have a social class, with the
royal family on top, and of course, the slaves at the bottom. Slaves were a very big

Essay On Game Theory
Game Theory was devised in the 1950 s and slowly grew into the field of biology
and today it is even used in computers and is one of the most important tool in
every field. Game Theory is a psychological theory which usually applies to social
conditions, which affect the behavioral and decision making of an individual. This
theory is vast and deals with how a group reacts and interact. This theory is used in
mostly all major fields such as business, biology, science, logic, computer etc.
A number of laws and theories are used to support the game theory such as zero sum

Game theory has three main branches: The mechanism design theory, the general

The Mechanism design theory gives analysts flexibility, as it lowers the restrictions
on variables. This theory shows the consequences of different regulations and
guidelines and how groups of people can take advantages when using certain strategy
in different situations. We can look at the examples on auctions where sellers can
identify the risks and avoid them completely.
The General equilibrium theory lays down general guidelines to set up rules and
restrictions looking at the behavior of people. It is broadly used in economics such
as in making tax policies, voting, which intensives to apply and to interpret stock
exchanges.
The Decision theory is a game generally used for a single person. It brings the
possible outcomes of the choices of a person where high risks equals maximum
profits and low risk equals low profits. Probability and bayer laws are generally used

The Definition Of Blind By Texas State University
Diversity is usually portrayed as the acceptance of many different races and
geographical cultures. It is not as common to hear the lack of diversity towards the
blind community but it exists. The attendance of Texas State University has opened
up the doors to one of the most diverse places I have had the chance to experience
first hand. Although Texas State has become somewhat of a safe haven, that does not
displace the fact that there is stereotyping everywhere against the blind.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of blind is unable to see;
sightless (Definition of Blind in English, 2015). However, I do not like to be put in
such a box. I define blindness as merely a heightening of other senses. What do you
think of when you hear the word sight? More than likely you think of shapes,
colors, and objects. My idea of sight consists of many senses; smell, touch, sounds,
those are the things that I see with. How about the word blind; what do you think
of then? The most common relation to the word blind is disabled; however, we are

the structure of a typical person s day and my own. I wake up, brush my teeth, put on
my makeup, and head downstairs

In addition to suppressing their revolts, Peter successfully undermined the lifestyle of
the boyars, without losing their commitment to the state. He accomplished this with
his establishment of the Table of Ranks, which designated the boyars specific roles
in either the bureaucracy or military, making them workers of the state. These
necessary steps allowed Russia to build a new, strong military force, and a powerful
centralized government. With increasing military strength, Peter the Great initiated
the organization of his new navy. A strong navy, which Russia previously lacked,
was essential to the state, due to the absence of warm water ports. While water does
surround Russia, it is frozen over for the majority of the year, which made trade
relatively impossible at the time. Therefore, capturing other warm water ports was a
necessary step to increase Russian power. This necessity led to conflicts with both the
Ottoman Empire, and the Swedish, who blocked Russia from the ports they desired.
The strong navy that Peter developed, known as the Baltic fleet, had early successes
in capturing Ottoman ports such as Azov; however, its main target was the Swedish
who controlled Baltic Sea. The Swedish King at the time Charles XII, fought against
Peter in the Great Northern War for these ports. In the battle of Poltava, Peter s well
trained fleet successfully crushed the Swedish; and the Russian
Positive Effects Of Recycling
Recycling means to regain old materials into new, and allowed the human to use it
again. Many countries suffered from the waste, which is sometimes lead people to
migrate because of the side effects of not recycling. Countries which not use the old
materials for recycling face many problems, such as, pollution, pressure in the landfill
and other which can affect on human health. Also, it can affect on the economic
costs, because the government have to pay to clean and repair the damages. For
example, china need to spend about 1.75 trillion yuan to clean the air pollution in
their country between 2013 and 2017 (according to Chinese Academy for
Environmental Planning). Results of recyclingcan be grouped into three main
headings: minimize the landfill, save our resources, and it could be a way to save
money.
One of the positive effect to recycle old trash that is help to reduce the landfills. To
explain, many countries doesn t use the method of recycling, so they burned the
trash or throw it in empty area. But humans do not know the side effect of their
behavior. Burning trash will cause air pollution and increased emissions of
dangerous gases, such as, methane and carbon monoxide. However, recycling
materials like paper could really help to reduce landfills, because paper took quit
time to brake down. A perfect example of this, in the United States people have used
more paper for a very long time, and the amount of the paper in landfills has
increased, and when US had

Michael Henchard Foil
According to the Online Dictionary for Literary Devices, The etymology of the
term foil testifies the aforementioned assertion as the word foil is taken from the
practice of backing gems with foil (tool) so that they shine more brightly.
Throughout The Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy sets up multiple pairs of
characters as foils to contrast them and express his opinion of what attributes a
person should have. Michael Henchard, who cares more for personal gain, is a foil
to Richard Newson, who cares for his wife and daughter. Elizabeth Jane Newson
outshines Lucetta Templeman with her belief that a person s character is more
valuable than outward appearance; in a similar sense, Donald Farfrae surpasses
Henchard in character and shows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Henchard is still Mayor of Casterbridge, he sets up an event in a field for
people to attend. However, Henchard s plan fails because, A number of people had
heroically gathered in the field, but by three o clock Henchard discerned that his
project was doomed to end in failure... But where are the folk? said Henchard, after
the lapse of half an hour, during which time only two men and a woman had stood
up to dance. The shops are all shut. Why don t they come? They are at Farfrae s
affair in the West Walk (103 104). This event is the first major conflict that occurs
between Henchard and Farfrae, and this starts to develop the characters as foils.
While Henchard hosts an event in the rain, Farfrae hosts an event indoors that is
popular; this shows Hardy s belief that intelligence is a positive trait to have. Hardy
shows that Farfrae uses logic and gains favor in the town while Henchard does not
and starts to become unpopular. Also defining Henchard and Farfrae as foils, Farfrae
shows self control and understands how to control his anger. After Henchard
embarrasses himself in front of Royalty, Farfrae meets him and chastises him by
saying,
You insulted Royalty, Henchard; and twas my duty, as the chief magistrate, to stop
you. Royalty be damned, said Henchard. I am as loyal to you, come to that! I am not

Tree Thoughts Research Paper
Tree Thoughts In the early 1950s when I was a tyke of five or six, in my backyard
with no sand box or swing set, grew a cherry tree probably planted in the 1930s by
our home s first owners. One of its major limbs had been sawed off. In spite of
being an amputee, its remaining branches of dark green serrated leaves stretched
to five or seven feet higher than the flat roofed garage it stood next to. It produced
an ample crop, maybe twenty five quarts, of sour cherries which ripened rapidly in
the middle of summer there in Canton, Ohio. Birds liked those red cherries as
much as we did. More often than not we picked them before the robins began
snacking on them. My mom had grown up on a farm about fifty miles east of
Canton and knew how to bake a cherry pie. Starting from scratch, using lard or
Crisco in her recipe, guaranteed her crust would be crisp and flaky. My parents
grew up when canning fruits and vegetables was more the norm than not. Their
generation valued thriftiness. As their first born I was a shy, inquisitive child. My
usual summer attire was blue jeans turned up three or four inches, and a colorful,
striped tee shirt. When I was older I was told, I acted grown up because I had a
serious air about me. Like trees, though, I thrived in the sunshine. After just a few
minutes of being in the sun,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Milgram and Zimbardo
Read the material on Milgram Zimbardo and explain which study is the most useful
in understanding human behaviour in a social situation (focusing on the methods
used and findings obtained) and which study is the most unethical. The study of
social psychology, particularly conformity, is very difficult to conduct both ethically
and accurately in order to be able to obtain useful results. In the studies done by
Milgram and Zimbardo, ethics were definitely breached but to what extent were these
experiments useful, and which one offered the most insight into human behaviour?

How much different were the results Zimbardo found compared to those that
Milgram had found prior? Milgram s results showed that people would follow
orders while violating their deepest beliefs, and in fact this was more common the
view that most people held. While Zimbardo s experiment was still useful I believe
that Milgram s experiment was most useful in understanding human behaviour when
it comes to conformity. When speaking of ethics, I believe that both experiments
were very much against the standards of ethics that we now hold true today,
however, I believe Zimbardo s experiment was a larger violation of ethics. The
protection of participants is very important having to do with humiliation,
embarrassment and loss of dignity of the participants. In social situations in bigger
groups it is more humiliating for humans to do something morally incorrect then in
front of only one person. Similarly the fact that the participants were in larger
groups can create more social stress and anxiety. While both experiments had
implications of violence, Zimbardo s experiment also caused participants to abuse
each other while Milgram s participants were only believing they were electrocuting
someone when in debrief they were assured no one was harmed. Both studies are
highly criticized for the deception of the participants however, it is
Essay about Upbringing vs. Success Rate
Upbringing vs. Success Rate Malcolm Gladwell emphasizes the importance of the
relationship between success and a person s upbringing in Chapters 3 and 4, The
Trouble with Geniuses, Parts 1 and 2 of Outliers. This book attempts to help people
understand what true success is, the value of it, and how the few people that
actually achieve it get there. Gladwell s theories helped me to realize that success is
simply reaching your full potential in life by taking advantage of every gift and
opportunity offered to you in order to make an impact on the world. In the opening
chapters Gladwell mentions the importance of experiencing extraordinary
opportunities (Gladwell 42) throughout one s life to reach ultimate success. He also

Gladwell believes that intelligence has a threshold. (Gladwell 80) I agree with his
opinion in that a smart person can only make it so far on pure intelligence before
other factors come into play, such as the qualities and skills a person possesses.
These skills are not inborn. One must be taught the value of certain qualities by their
parents or guardians throughout their upbringing in order to put them to use as an
adult. The study of the Termites ultimately proved that the most successful ones
amongst the group did in fact come from stronger family backgrounds. Their parents

Long Paper #1: Response Paper
Dear Mr. Dalai Lama,
In your excerpt, Ethics and the New Genetics, you presented the discovery of the
advancement in genetic technology. You mentioned how scientist are able to change
the genetic makeup of living things. Another key point presented in your article is the
idea of cloning, where one is therapeutic while the other is reproductive. The article
discussed that the advancement in technology and genetics should only be used to
benefit people. However, you believed that using these advancements in the wrong
way can leave a long term consequence to the present and future of the human society.
(The Dalai Lama).
I agree with your opinion in how genetic technology could leave a negative impact to
our society. I believe the idea of genetic engineering is not natural. We have no idea of
the harm that could result from this technology. Genetic engineering is another step
in giving humans their desires. I believe that altering the DNA of any life form is not
just. Genetically manipulating a life form could put an imbalance in nature and
society. No one should have the right to manipulate the genetics of other life forms.
The idea of genetic engineering is be consider unethical because it is enforcing animal
cruelty. Furthermore, I am appalled that some parent choose their child s appearance,
rather than go through the natural process, to prevent bullying and discrimination.
Selflessness In New Orleans
When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in late August of 2005, it not only
destroyed the city, but unraveled the ties that held the society together. Tens of
thousands of people were forced out of their homes, bound to find a means of
survival on their own. Relationships they had previously formed, social constants
they had grown accustomed to were thrown out of the window, and laws became
irrelevant. Within a matter of days, everything they had known was destroyed, and it
became the survival of the fittest and the wealthiest. While this broken society
brought out the inner hero in some people, it brought out the chaos and lawlessness
in others. Some embraced selflessness and saved hundreds of people, while others
turned to looting, shooting,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The World Of World War 2
World War 2 was one of the most catastrophic events in human history. With
millions dying in very few years, the destruction has left a scar on nations that is
still visible in the present day. One of the most terrifying nations back during the
days of war was Japan. Their culture promoted war, fighting, and being as ruthless
as possible, causing them to be an extreme threat to world peace. The military
looked into ancient myths about the Japanese, and the Emperor in particular, as
they were said to be directly related to the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu Omikami. The
nation and military of Japan wanted to bring racial and spiritual purity into the
world, and as Laurence Rees put it, The Japanese had been brainwashed for
centuries . The war in the Japanese front took longer to end, and many speculate
that if the United States had not created the atom bomb, the war in Asia would
have lasted many more years. The answers for this prolongation is rooted deep in
Japanese culture and history. There are many strange examples and acts from the
Japanese military during World War 2. For example, not a single soldier would ever
surrender as POW. Due to rules by the military and the indoctrination of beliefs,
soldiers would refuse to accept defeat. This had roots in the government as well, and
the Emperor of Japan along with the rest of the government refused surrender even
when defeat was apparent. The interpretation of Japanese social, military, and
historical culture caused individual

future leaders of Marines: Our actions as Marines every day must embody the
legacy of those who went before us. Marines have a great expectation to live up to,
and as commissioned officers we must absolutely carry on the tradition of excellent

Our country was a maritime nation at its birth in 1775 and still is today. Four of Five
capitals are within 300 miles of a coast, demonstrating the importance of an infantry
force from the sea to national security. Together, the individual Marine

indoctrination, every Marine a rifleman , and our maritime heritage make up the
Marine tradition.
The second chapter of Leading Marines is titled Foundations. It lays out the
foundation of every Marine leader; it is a collection of the principles taught to all
Marines. Our core values, and Marine leadership principles make up the bulk of
the chapter. Leadership is what makes men take action against their most basic
instinct of self preservation. Leadership is based not only on the Marine ethos, but
also on certain elements of leadership philosophy. The elements rely on each other,
and collectively they serve to help guide a Marine leader in decision making.
These values must be reflected in a leaders action, otherwise the follower has no
faith in the leader and the words become hollow and meaningless. As Marines, we
are held to a higher standard then the rest of society because of the nature of our
profession. Just because we carry arms and have an awesome amount of power, does
not mean that we can do as we please. With the application of force comes a strict

The Morality of Abortion and Surrogacy
It is said that, the basic principle of such tradition is that humans communicate
through symbols, which are a common currency through which a sense of self is
created through interaction with others. Mead s theory neatly avoids the trap of
positing a sense of self that is constructed entirely through symbols and society by
making a distinction between two different selves: I which is the unsocialized self;
the font of individual desires and needs, and me, the socialized self, the self within
society. (p. 184) Elliot rightly identifies the flaws of symbolic interactionism: namely,

author was primarily focused on the intense resocialization civilians experience

after losing their civilian identities. Dyer focuses on resocialization and the

members of the Armed Services experience resocialization when they leave
civilian life to join the army. Finally, changes in job and/or moving to another

The Problem Of Large Cars
Overconsumption of large cars is a problem for Americans who are enticed into
thinking they need the newest and biggest Sports Utility Vehicles, through
advertising by the car industries who make the consumers believe that having
these larger cars will make the consumers life better and have a higher status in
their communities. In addition, the auto industries present these cars as an asset
due to the cargo space capabilities, exhibiting the SUV as having more space for
hauling both cargo and passengers. Most consumers with large families buy SUVs
to cater to their families size when most SUVs are similar in size to a large sedan.

in Salem, Massachusetts last for a year (1692 1693) and in Papua New Guinea they
still continue to hunt witches (2013). The witch hunts being done in both Salem and
Papua New Guinea are taking place out of ignorance and fear because they are
accusing people of events that occur naturally, out of revenge, and the fear of the
witches powers being used on them, the people. There is a reason behind everything
that happens in life, it may not be understandable for some people, but there is reason

In The Crucible and the article The Global, both talk about how revenge is the
choice the people chose to perform. As read in The Global Attacks... spontaneous
act of a grieving family, inspired often by vengeance... (Chandler, 2) The people
killing the accused witches are putting up a front so the others will believe it is for
payback. Payback for what the witches have provoked onto their loved ones or
others, the killers don t want the people to think it is just torturing and killing them
without a reason because that is not a good picture being set. Likewise, in The
Crucible Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor have some tension from the past events,
Elizabeth ruined Abigail s name in the town after being fired from her house.
Abigail does anything from putting a spell on John Proctor to fall in love with
her, to stabbing herself to have proof of Elizabeth Being a witch. The Crucible says
Hale: Abigail were stabbed tonight; Elizabeth: And she charged me? Hale: Aye
(Miller, 203) Abigail had accused Elizabeth because she wanted to be with John
Proctor and she didn t have a chance if Elizabeth was still around and she knew
Mary Warren had given her a poppet with a needle stuck into its stomach. In The
Global and The Crucible the people weren t getting even they were being
unreasonable. Abigail didn t have a good enough reason to lead someone to their
death, in
The Anglo-Saxon Generation
Imagine fifty years or more from now, when the modern American civilization would
cease to exist. What would that generation think of this generation? What would be
left for them to examine and infer about this generation? Artifacts and burial sites
are one of the many treasures of the past that archaeologists use to help them figure
out what the past generation was like. What if all they saw were very violent
movies? Would they think that this generation was one that was ruled by violence?
Archeologists have found remains of the earlier societies, like the Anglo Saxons, and
they can infer what the society did and valued. Based on the poem From Beowulfand
the artifacts found in their burial site, people can infer what the upper class Anglo
Saxonswere like.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This bonded their community and made it more sturdy and long lasting. When
Beowulf died, his warriors [placed] his ashes, along all of the dragon s treasure, in a
huge burial tower by the sea, where it can be seen by voyagers (From Beowulf 49,
1). Gold was an important valuable since their greatest king was buried with the
dragon s mixture of gold and other valuable treasures. Anglo Saxons valued strength
and their warriors so much that their kings showered [their warriors] with tons of
bling swords, armor, rings, you name it (00:48 00:49 www.shmoop.com, 2). Since
they valued gold and wealth, getting inexhaustible amount of gold and other
extravagant objects that the kings might have given them were a big deal. Overall,
the Anglo Saxon s had many values within their culture that without most of them,
the society and its artifacts might not have lasted for so long. The artifacts and poems
that they have left behind for the generations that have formed after them could see
what kind of civilization they were. According to the remnants, they mostly valued
loyalty, strength, and wealth. Those are the morals and ethics that kept the society
Scarlet Pimpernel Reflection
Scarlet Pimpernel starts with giving the background of the situation about how
famed the scarlet pimpernel is and how badly the French want to kill him, through
dialogue in France. The book moves the set to The Fishermen s Rest and we see
some of the aristocrats who have just escaped thanks to Scarlet Pimpernel and his
crew. Lots of celebration continues as we get introduced to the main character
Marguerite, she says good bye to her brother/Best friend/substitute dad, who is
secretly helping scarlet pimpernel by going to France, the French Spy, an old friend
of Marguerite, asks for her help to figure out who scarlet Pimpernel is she denies.
Later that night, the French Spy captures some letters from Scarlet Pimpernel and

morning. Racing against the French spy which she helps, Scarlet s helper tells her
that the storm coming in would prevent everyone from leaving the port, but her
husband had safely passed it. Through the next few days she tries to eat and sleep
but is mostly unsuccessful. Her helper finally gets the first boat out to France and
notices that they beat the Spy by at least 30 minutes; they make their way to the
inn and through extra money pay their way to have her hide. Scarlet s helper never
returns after going to warn her husband, but her husband walk right into the inn
with the spy. He uses the spy s snuff addiction to trick him into snuffing salt and
barely escapes. She quietly follows the spy and him many guards who are being led
by a Jewish man. She accidentally got revealed and bound after they have
surrounded the hut with her brother and an aristocrat inside. The spy ordered all the
men to wait for Scarlet Pimpernel to enter the hut before attacking. At dawn, they
realized that the aristocrat and her brother had escaped and were leaving soon, so

RESPIRATION IN YEAST
INTRODUCTION:
Yeast, also known as a saccharomyces cerevisiae, is single celled eukaryotic cells
that are in the kingdom fungi and are unicellular organisms which normally
reproduce asexually by budding at a very high rate. Scientists quite often decide to
work with yeast because of its features fast growing rate and the fact that yeast s
DNA can be easily manipulated. Some types of yeast can be found naturally on
plant or in the soil. Also it is worthwhile mentioning that yeast feeds on sugar very
well, and so that I decided to use glucose.

Methodology And Format Of Any Scientific Work Essay
Research design
This refers to the plan, structure and format of any scientific or statistical work. It
serves the purpose of guiding the researcher in his study and will set out the
framework to be used. Research design will basically cover the data collection
process, tools of collecting such data, how the tools will be used to collect data
and how to analyze the collected data into a useful form (Gosling, 2014). A problem
will be raised by researcher in which he will carry out his course study to draw an
answer throughcollecting data (Meyer, et al, 2012).
The research process is as follows: Statement of problem is identified( Research
problem); Making a plan how to start the actual research is determined; Determining
research type to use and Stating methods to use. The research problem will be
identified as follows:
1.Obtaining a problem you are already aware of. You may choose from social
environment and any other facts that researcher knows.
2.Asking from experts and teachers. This is also another avenue of obtaining a

Wilson Fisk Research Paper
Wilson Fisk, the kingpin of crime in the Netflix series Daredevil, evinces a perfect
comic book black and white mortality. The two sided criminal was loving to his
mother, girlfriend, and in his own perversive way, the city of New York. From a
human psyche standpoint nevertheless; what drove Fisk, what are his reasons for
his criminal ways, and what caused him to be that way? Fisk was born in New
York City to a drunk father and a caring mother. His father constantly beat his
mother and made Fisk stare at the wall and hear his mother suffer. As this
continued Fisk had, had enough and walloped his father to death with a hammer,
smashing his skull in with every blow. His mother then decided to cut up her
husband s body and dump a piece of it in the river every night for weeks. The only
thing that Fisk kept of his fathers were his cufflinks, which he wore to remind him
of his father s true nature. This event is what started Fisk s path to being the
Kingpin of New York. That s why I still wear these, to remind myself that I m not
cruel for the sake of cruelty, that I m not my father... (Fisk to Vanessa Marianna).

His terminal goal was to tear down Hell s Kitchen and rebuild it from the ground
up, and in his mind, he felt that he was doing a good thing. This city and its future
seeing Hell s Kitchen to its fullest potential is very important to me. (Fisk to
Vanessa Marianna). All he wanted in his life was to see Hell s Kitchen glimmer
with prosperity, and the only way he knew how to do that was by organizing a huge
gang of criminals to get that end goal. Something in Fisk s deep physiological mind
felt the need for mass destruction to mass prosperity. Maybe it was from his
destructive father who embedded in his mind that you have to destroy what you love

Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen Essay
Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen High school history textbooks are
seen, by students, as presenting the last word on American History. Rarely, if ever, do
they question what their text tells them about our collective past. According to James
W. Loewen s Lies My Teacher Told Me, they should be. Loewen has spent
considerable time and effort reviewing history texts that were written for high school
students. In Lies, he has reviewed twenty texts and has compared them to the actual
history. Sadly, not one text measures up to the author s expectation of teaching
students to think. What is worse, though, is that students come away from their
classes without having developed the ability to think coherently about social... Show

According to Loewen they got his name right, and not much else. Lies points out
that there were many groups of explorers that had discovered America before
Columbus. He probably used some of their information as a basis for his plans to
sail west. A full eight pages are devoted to other possible explorers. These groups
include ancient groups from Indonesia, Japan, China, and Phoenicia. More recent
groups include the Vikings, British Islanders, West Africans, and Portuguese
fishermen. There are varying levels of evidence connecting these groups to pre
Columbian America, but still enough to throw doubt into the mix. Columbus got the
credit because of the way in which Europe responded to his discovery. Other false
ideas taught about Columbus deal with what is left out. His original motivation may
have been to find another trade route to the Orient, but his real motivation, in
subsequent expeditions to America, was money. By 1493 Columbus had planned to
plunder Haiti, according to Michele de Cuneo, who had been on Columbus s first
voyage. Columbus, himself, said to Ferdinand and Isabella that his motivation was
gold, and gold constitutes treasure; and he who has it does all he wants in the world,
and can even lift souls up to Paradise (Lies p34). Another side of Columbus
The Importance Of Communication In Communication
The workplace is an environment that is constantly changing the way managers and
co workers communicate. Whether it may be in communicating in person or online
there are typically different approaches to the communicating to different audiences
in the workplace. When co workers communicate they often send emails to each
other regarding a certain objective. The same principle applies to Managers except
being more formal is key to represent a professional proposal. Knowing the audience
you plan to communicate with is important because you need to tailor you message
accordingly to a higher management because the type of audience you are
presenting to needs to have the appropriate message. Things to consider is
recognizing the technical and ethical background of the person you begin to address.
This allows you to consider the person you write to as well as the level of
understanding both co worker and manager. Secondly, understanding the audience
you are speaking to is important, but so I identifying the type of writingmediums you
plan to use while communicating. For example if you begin addressing a coworker
you can use email to send professional messages concerning objectives or business.

communicationwith an individual or group. In the textbook Memos are most often a

The Genide Of The Armenian Genocide
The Armenian Genocide was perhaps considered the first genocide that ever
occurred in the 20th century in 1915, which was also around the time where WWI
began. The Armenian Genocide was responsible for the deaths of between 664,000 to
roughly 1.5 million Armenians living in the Ottoman Empire, caused by a political
group called the Young Turks in an attempt to Turkify the Empire and kill off
supposed Armenian traitors. But before the genocide began, Armenians were already
in a fierce struggle with the Ottoman Empiretrying to gain autonomy. The Ottoman
population was mostly Muslim, and most of them resented the Armenians because
they were not Muslims like them, but Christian. Many Muslims believed Armenians
to be more educated and wealthier than them, despite Armenians having fewer rights
and having to pay higher taxes. Most Armenians weren t even rich, they were actually
poor. But over time, the Muslims resentment grew over time, with each assumption of
Armenians bringing them closer and closer to get rid of them. During an Armenian
campaign that called for Armenians having civil rights, a Turkish sultan named Abdel
Hamid II became frustrated by their rebellious actions, and in 1890, he declared to
give the Armenians a box on the ear which will make them...relinquish their
revolutionary ambitions (Armenian Genocide). A series of massacres were committed
against the Armenians soon after, and by 1896, 80,000 Armenians had been murdered
by the Ottomans. Armenians lived

Essay On Communism

  • 1. Essay On Communism Crafting an essay on the subject of communism is a challenging endeavor that demands a comprehensive understanding of political ideologies, historical contexts, and economic theories. The intricacies associated with communism, as both a theoretical concept and a practical political system, require meticulous research and a nuanced approach to effectively address its multifaceted nature. To begin with, one must delve into the origins of communism, exploring the philosophical underpinnings laid out by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. This involves grappling with complex ideas such as historical materialism, class struggle, and the eventual establishment of a classless society. Understanding the theoretical framework is just the tip of the iceberg, as one must then navigate through the historical manifestations of communism in various parts of the world, each with its unique challenges and outcomes. Moreover, writing an essay on communism necessitates an exploration of the criticisms and controversies surrounding this ideology. Analyzing the failures and successes of real-world communist experiments, such as the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba, requires a delicate balance between acknowledging the idealistic goals and recognizing the pragmatic limitations. Furthermore, the economic dimension of communism adds another layer of difficulty. Evaluating the viability of a planned economy, the role of the state, and the impact on individual freedoms demands a deep dive into economic theories and empirical evidence. Addressing the ongoing debates between proponents and opponents of communism requires a nuanced understanding of contemporary political and economic thought. The challenge extends to synthesizing diverse perspectives, considering criticisms and counterarguments, and ultimately presenting a well-rounded and cohesive essay. Striking a balance between theoretical analysis and real-world examples, without succumbing to oversimplification or overgeneralization, is a delicate task. In conclusion, tackling the topic of communism in an essay is an intellectually demanding endeavor that requires a profound understanding of philosophy, history, and economics. Navigating through the complexities of this ideology, both in theory and practice, necessitates careful research, critical analysis, and a nuanced approach. The writer must grapple with divergent perspectives and construct a coherent narrative that captures the essence of communism while acknowledging its complexities and controversies. • 3. Why It Is Important To Become An Organ Donor Organ donation: a person with healthy organs and tissues allows for them to be transplanted to those in need, usually after death. Being an organ donor can be as simple as filling out an information card on the back of your driver s license. It is easy to do and is a very selfless and caring thing to commit to. Organdonation is a simple, yet amazing act. Every day, people in need of vital organs die due to lung failure, heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure, and other illnesses. In fact, over 120,000 people in the United States are in need of vital organ transplants. Every day twenty two people on that list die. Every ten minutes, another person is added to the list. Each year there are more than one million people waiting for life improving tissues and eyes. These are not just numbers; they are people who are waiting to receive what is basically life or death. This sounds like a very large amount of people, but there is hope. A single... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cause of death is actually what determines if organ donation is an option. Most people who actually become organ donors suffer fatal head injuries, either from something like a car accident or a brain aneurysm or stroke. After the person is admitted to the hospital, if nothing else can be done to save him or her, organ donation is finally brought into the picture. After death has occurred an examination of the potential donor s physical and historical status is conducted. In this examination, a physician examines the current physical state of the potential donor. For example, if the individual s cause of death damaged certain organs, then those organs would be ruled out. The medical history of the potential donor is also examined. For example, the individual being a smoker would determine them ineligible. If everything checks out the potential recipients are examined to determine if the operation can be

A Christmas carol by Charles Dickens is a significant novella written in the Victorian era. The protagonist Ebenezer Scrooge is used to demonstrate the upper class society and their attitude towards the poor. Throughout this redemption story, Dickens combines a descriptions of hardships faced by the poor with a heart felt sentimental celebration of the Christmas season. The novella contains a dramatic and comic element as well as a deep felt moral theme. The text promotes the values of Ebenezer Scrooge, delving into his past, present and supposed future as well as contrasting between the enriching and depressing story; specifically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author illustrates that Scrooge who is depicted as hard and sharp as a flint is a greedy miser whom is so old and coldhearted that nothing other than his profits will phase him. Dickens uses the scene when the ghost of Christmas past, a child like old man uses flashbacks to show Scrooge of the memories he once made to show the nature of the much younger character. This is evident when Fan a little girl much younger than Scrooge had brought out the affection of her older brother as they planned to be together all the Christmas long, and have the merriest time in all the world. What is important about this example is not just that it shows the compassion Scrooge once felt but also that Scrooge is not truly crooked and horrible to the core establishing the uplifting and inspiring feeling to readers. The title of the novella, A Christmas Carol, is immediately recognized by the reader as hardly appropriate for the first stave. Stave one does not resemble the happy and cheerful world of Christmas trees and presents, but instead the reader is exposed to, what can only be described as, ghost story features. Ghost stories are meant to be scary, typically the ghosts that appear in this genre bring nothing but evil, but in this

Disney s Of Race And Culture Walt Disney s animated classics are prominent and affluential for the millennial generation and are loved by many people all over the world, preferably by the western socialized population. Because of its dominance, Disney s subliminal impacts on children and even adults are presented as an enormous socialization factor throughout Hollywood. Disney s portrayal of race and culture is predominant throughout its characters, settings and music, specifically in the last 2 ВЅ decades. The following analysis investigates Disney s utilization of race and culture, throughout its films and correlates with its awareness in social responsibility. A paramount example would be Disney s, A Bug s Life, presenting many key components of race and culture and how the lives of the main characters are impacted as a whole. Culture is defined as The ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society (Oxford Dictionary: 2015). The diversity portrayed in the film A Bug s Life, embellishes the different types of social hierarchy amongst the different characters in the film. The colony of ants illustrates a functionalist perspective among social order. In order for them to keep peace with the demanding grasshoppers, they must gather an abundance of food, which will keep them and the grasshoppers nourished until the following year. The ant s way of living is very strategic; they base most of their days on working in order to fulfill their duty to the grasshoppers. The
  • 6. Should Middle School Students Get Homework Essay Homework limits sleep, social life, and causes loads of stress. There s no time for kids to spend with their family and friends, or do the things they love. Children need to be able to live a carefree life; enjoying all the time they have left just to be kids. Middle school students should not get homework. One of the reasons why homework should not be given to middle school students is because it causes sleep loss. Students have so much work to do that they have to stay up all night to finish it. Craig Canapari, a pediatrician specializing in the care of children with sleeping and breathing problems says, The combination of heavy homework loads and early school start times is a major cause of sleep deprivation and consequent stress in teens. • 7. Deterrence And Its Effect On Society Deterrence Joni Montoya South University Online Justice. Deterrence starts in childhood. A parent punishes a child for doing something forbidden and the child learns that doing this thing will have bad consequences. When one person or persons attempt to sway the decision of another with the menace of punishment more threatening than the gains, this is deterrence (Coleman, 2002). Deterrence is defined as the punishment of socially undesirable behavior as a means of future prevention (Coleman, 2002). The driving force behind deterrence is the fear of punishment. Deterrence is part of the Classical theory (South University Online, 2014). Classical theory states that criminals have free will and make a deliberate decision to commit a crime. Classical theory has been around since ancient times. Society has always had rules and punishments. The concept behind classical theory is that persons will avoid criminal behavior because of the negative consequences (What, 2014). The role that the family plays is that the family teaches the children how to behave in society and what will happen if they deviate from correct and proper behavior. Deterrence causes an individual to decide whether the gains from the inappropriate behavior outweigh the losses. For example, a bank robber needs to decide whether the gain, thousands of dollars, outweighs the loss, years in prison. Deterrence wins if the robber decides not to rob the bank because for fear of

  • 9. Remember The Titans Movie And Movie Remember The Titans is a novel written by Steve Sullivan and is a film directed by Boaz Yakin. It talks about how Bill Yoast was the real life hero that changed the struggles of black and white high school football athletes to create a championship season in racially charged Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972. The plots and characters are the same in the movie and the book. Much of the movie s dialogue is taken directly from the book. However, there are many differences in the description of the characters relationships, the description of the decrease in racial tension, and the description of the increase in teamwork, unity, and pride. Early in the film, before training camp, both the white and black players were unhappy with integration. During the training, there was a scene of training players blocking and yelling at each other. Also, one of the football players took a screwdriver from his car and ran towards the demonstrators. However, the beginning of the story talks about Bill Yoast life. His father was a hobo, Tears filled my eyes as I realized hobo Yoast was on his way (Bill 2). Bill s first job was as a cotton picker, and he had to get up early to walk to the field. If you know anything about cotton then you know you gotta get pickin before the sun slaps you silly. It s an early morning thing that means you rise a few hours after the moon showed its face. At least I did because the cotton field where I was going to lived in the boonies (Bill 3). In 1943, Yoast

The original ending of the play is mythical which is shown through the incantations and curses and how we, the audience, are not told of what happens to Johnny afterwards therefore IН›ve chosen to change the ending and make it more naturalistic by showing Johnny getting married to Dawn and how he has decided to leave the Нљold worldН› and join the Нљnew worldН›. After JohnnyН›s speech IН›ve decided to create a stronger relationship between Ginger and Johnny which carries on five years later till Johnny and DawnН›s wedding. Through my recreative approach IН›ve shown how much has changed over the course of five years, that eventually everyone has to move on from the old world. IН›ve chosen to revolve JohnnyН›s decision to leave the Нљold worldН›through the words Dawn said to Johnny when they last saw each other in the play НћThe world turns. And it turns. And it moves on and you donН›t. YouН›re still hereНџ. By Johnny taking this words by Dawn and decides to change shows JohnnyН›s intentions to not only build a relationship between him and Dawn but also to build a relationship with his son Marky. IН›ve also added how Ginger came back to Johnny apologising despite the fact he knew he was mad at him. Ginger also convinces Johnny that he is the only НљtrueН› friend out of everyone where he says НћThatН›s it Johnny (Pause.) They all left. All of Нљem. Except me. (Beat)Нџ. This changes the story because throughout the play we realise that Johnny doesnН›t have any real friends that will be there for him, not even Dawn or Marky who were his family, even though he was surrounded by a lot of people. Therefore IН›ve chosen to change this by making Ginger stand out by being JohnnyН›s only true friend that carries on for many years. This changes from the original story because throughout the play Johnny is surrounded by a lot of people and by the end he was

Gun Control And School Safety Guns in the Classroom Destiny Casey Student ID# 000410720 WGU Guns in the Classroom Allowing teachers to carry guns will allow teachers to prevent school shootings on the grounds of preschool through college campuses. Everyone has their own opinion about teachers being able to carry guns including other teachers, parents, and government officials. Depending on what state the teacher is teaching in determines if they can carry their gun now, if they are in the process of being able to, or if their state is not passing a law to allow them to carry their gun while at school. Teachers would not stand out like police officers or security officers would while in the school which would allow for other teachers and all of the students to have normal days if schools did not have officers before. Research shows that allowing some teachers to carry guns in their school promotes school safety, protects the teachers and students, and promotes gun safety while still teaching their students. Guns in schools promote school safety, by allowing teachers to have guns in the classroom you are letting students and parents know you want their children to be safe while they are in your school or classroom all day away from their parents. Bender talks about what teachers can do to prevent weapons in the classroom and to help other teachers if something arises and they need backup assistance from another teacher. Preventing guns from being in the classroom rules out a lot of the issues with
  • 13. Mythology Of Mythology Many of the television shows and movies that we watch today are connected to ancient mythology in some way or another. There is usually a hero, a villain or two, and all the supporting roles that when all are brought together, make up the movie or television show one is currently watching. But what a lot of people do not take into consideration when watching movies or television shows, is that the hero is always fighting for love or fighting out of love; and the same could be said for ancient mythology. There is love in every story out there, it is all around us, but most people do not see it because they are not watching the movie or television show, or reading the book or story for the love aspect (although some stories were written solely for the love factor). The story of Pyramus and Thisbeis the story that started the forbidden love; the very first Romeo and Juliet. Pyramus and Thisbe were lovers who were forbidden to marry by their parents. One night, they devised a plan to run away together; but when Pyramus was late in meeting Thisbe, Thisbe encountered a lion and ran for her life. Then when Pyramus finally showed up, he discovered blood at the meeting spot and concluded that Thisbe had been killed, so he took his own life so as to not be without her. Then, Thisbe takes her own life when she discovers what Pyramus has done (Bulfinch, Ch. 3). They both died because they loved each other so much, and nothing was going to keep them apart, just as in Romeo and Juliet

It is not as common to hear the lack of diversity towards the blind community but it exists. The attendance of Texas State University has opened up the doors to one of the most diverse places I have had the chance to experience first hand. Although Texas State has become somewhat of a safe haven, that does not displace the fact that there is stereotyping everywhere against the blind. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of blind is unable to see; sightless (Definition of Blind in English, 2015). However, I do not like to be put in such a box. I define blindness as merely a heightening of other senses. What do you think of when you hear the word sight? More than likely you think of shapes, colors, and objects. My idea of sight consists of many senses; smell, touch, sounds, those are the things that I see with. How about the word blind; what do you think of then? Although from two different time periods, the impact of their decision making, and temperaments directly dictated and impacted the historical events of their individual countries. Being that both led during a time where the desire for power and absolutism in one s country and throughout Europe was at a high, each ruler used his own methods to increase their strength. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to suppressing their revolts, Peter successfully undermined the lifestyle of the boyars, without losing their commitment to the state. He accomplished this with his establishment of the Table of Ranks, which designated the boyars specific roles in either the bureaucracy or military, making them workers of the state. These necessary steps allowed Russia to build a new, strong military force, and a powerful centralized government. With increasing military strength, Peter the Great initiated the organization of his new navy. A strong navy, which Russia previously lacked, was essential to the state, due to the absence of warm water ports. While water does surround Russia, it is frozen over for the majority of the year, which made trade relatively impossible at the time. Therefore, capturing other warm water ports was a necessary step to increase Russian power. This necessity led to conflicts with both the Ottoman Empire, and the Swedish, who blocked Russia from the ports they desired. The strong navy that Peter developed, known as the Baltic fleet, had early successes in capturing Ottoman ports such as Azov; however, its main target was the Swedish who controlled Baltic Sea. The Swedish King at the time Charles XII, fought against Peter in the Great Northern War for these ports. In the battle of Poltava, Peter s well trained fleet successfully crushed the Swedish; and the Russian

Many countries suffered from the waste, which is sometimes lead people to migrate because of the side effects of not recycling. Countries which not use the old materials for recycling face many problems, such as, pollution, pressure in the landfill and other which can affect on human health. Also, it can affect on the economic costs, because the government have to pay to clean and repair the damages. For example, china need to spend about 1.75 trillion yuan to clean the air pollution in their country between 2013 and 2017 (according to Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning). Results of recyclingcan be grouped into three main headings: minimize the landfill, save our resources, and it could be a way to save money. One of the positive effect to recycle old trash that is help to reduce the landfills. To explain, many countries doesn t use the method of recycling, so they burned the trash or throw it in empty area. But humans do not know the side effect of their behavior. Burning trash will cause air pollution and increased emissions of dangerous gases, such as, methane and carbon monoxide. However, recycling materials like paper could really help to reduce landfills, because paper took quit time to brake down. Michael Henchard Foil According to the Online Dictionary for Literary Devices, The etymology of the term foil testifies the aforementioned assertion as the word foil is taken from the practice of backing gems with foil (tool) so that they shine more brightly. Throughout The Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy sets up multiple pairs of characters as foils to contrast them and express his opinion of what attributes a person should have. Michael Henchard, who cares more for personal gain, is a foil to Richard Newson, who cares for his wife and daughter. But where are the folk? said Henchard, after the lapse of half an hour, during which time only two men and a woman had stood up to dance. The shops are all shut. Why don t they come? They are at Farfrae s affair in the West Walk (103 104). This event is the first major conflict that occurs between Henchard and Farfrae, and this starts to develop the characters as foils. While Henchard hosts an event in the rain, Farfrae hosts an event indoors that is popular; this shows Hardy s belief that intelligence is a positive trait to have. Hardy shows that Farfrae uses logic and gains favor in the town while Henchard does not and starts to become unpopular. Also defining Henchard and Farfrae as foils, Farfrae shows self control and understands how to control his anger. After Henchard embarrasses himself in front of Royalty, Farfrae meets him and chastises him by saying, You insulted Royalty, Henchard; and twas my duty, as the chief magistrate, to stop you. Tree Thoughts Research Paper Tree Thoughts In the early 1950s when I was a tyke of five or six, in my backyard with no sand box or swing set, grew a cherry tree probably planted in the 1930s by our home s first owners. One of its major limbs had been sawed off. In spite of being an amputee, its remaining branches of dark green serrated leaves stretched to five or seven feet higher than the flat roofed garage it stood next to. It produced an ample crop, maybe twenty five quarts, of sour cherries which ripened rapidly in the middle of summer there in Canton, Ohio. Birds liked those red cherries as much as we did. More often than not we picked them before the robins began snacking on them. My mom had grown up on a farm about fifty miles east of Canton and knew how to bake a cherry pie. Starting from scratch, using lard or Crisco in her recipe, guaranteed her crust would be crisp and flaky. My parents grew up when canning fruits and vegetables was more the norm than not. Their generation valued thriftiness. As their first born I was a shy, inquisitive child. My usual summer attire was blue jeans turned up three or four inches, and a colorful, striped tee shirt. Another key point presented in your article is the idea of cloning, where one is therapeutic while the other is reproductive. The article discussed that the advancement in technology and genetics should only be used to benefit people. However, you believed that using these advancements in the wrong way can leave a long term consequence to the present and future of the human society. (The Dalai Lama). I agree with your opinion in how genetic technology could leave a negative impact to our society. I believe the idea of genetic engineering is not natural. We have no idea of the harm that could result from this technology. Genetic engineering is another step in giving humans their desires. I believe that altering the DNA of any life form is not just. Their culture promoted war, fighting, and being as ruthless as possible, causing them to be an extreme threat to world peace. The military looked into ancient myths about the Japanese, and the Emperor in particular, as they were said to be directly related to the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu Omikami. The nation and military of Japan wanted to bring racial and spiritual purity into the world, and as Laurence Rees put it, The Japanese had been brainwashed for centuries . The war in the Japanese front took longer to end, and many speculate that if the United States had not created the atom bomb, the war in Asia would have lasted many more years. The answers for this prolongation is rooted deep in Japanese culture and history. There are many strange examples and acts from the Japanese military during World War 2. For example, not a single soldier would ever surrender as POW. Due to rules by the military and the indoctrination of beliefs, soldiers would refuse to accept defeat. Likewise, in The Crucible Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor have some tension from the past events, Elizabeth ruined Abigail s name in the town after being fired from her house. Abigail does anything from putting a spell on John Proctor to fall in love with her, to stabbing herself to have proof of Elizabeth Being a witch. The Crucible says Hale: Abigail were stabbed tonight; Elizabeth: And she charged me? Hale: Aye (Miller, 203) Abigail had accused Elizabeth because she wanted to be with John Proctor and she didn t have a chance if Elizabeth was still around and she knew Mary Warren had given her a poppet with a needle stuck into its stomach. In The Global and The Crucible the people weren t getting even they were being unreasonable. Abigail didn t have a good enough reason to lead someone to their death, in

The two sided criminal was loving to his mother, girlfriend, and in his own perversive way, the city of New York. From a human psyche standpoint nevertheless; what drove Fisk, what are his reasons for his criminal ways, and what caused him to be that way? Fisk was born in New York City to a drunk father and a caring mother. His father constantly beat his mother and made Fisk stare at the wall and hear his mother suffer. As this continued Fisk had, had enough and walloped his father to death with a hammer, smashing his skull in with every blow. His mother then decided to cut up her husband s body and dump a piece of it in the river every night for weeks. The only thing that Fisk kept of his fathers were his cufflinks, which he wore to remind him of his father s true nature. This event is what started Fisk s path to being the Kingpin of New York. That s why I still wear these, to remind myself that I m not cruel for the sake of cruelty, that I m not my father... (Fisk to Vanessa Marianna). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 47. Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen Essay Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen High school history textbooks are seen, by students, as presenting the last word on American History. Rarely, if ever, do they question what their text tells them about our collective past. According to James W. Loewen s Lies My Teacher Told Me, they should be. Loewen has spent considerable time and effort reviewing history texts that were written for high school students. In Lies, he has reviewed twenty texts and has compared them to the actual history. Sadly, not one text measures up to the author s expectation of teaching students to think. According to Loewen they got his name right, and not much else. Lies points out that there were many groups of explorers that had discovered America before Columbus. He probably used some of their information as a basis for his plans to sail west. A full eight pages are devoted to other possible explorers. These groups include ancient groups from Indonesia, Japan, China, and Phoenicia. More recent groups include the Vikings, British Islanders, West Africans, and Portuguese fishermen. There are varying levels of evidence connecting these groups to pre Columbian America, but still enough to throw doubt into the mix. Columbus got the credit because of the way in which Europe responded to his discovery. Other false ideas taught about Columbus deal with what is left out. His original motivation may have been to find another trade route to the Orient, but his real motivation, in subsequent expeditions to America, was money. By 1493 Columbus had planned to plunder Haiti, according to Michele de Cuneo, who had been on Columbus s first voyage. Columbus, himself, said to Ferdinand and Isabella that his motivation was gold, and gold constitutes treasure; and he who has it does all he wants in the world, and can even lift souls up to Paradise (Lies p34). The Genide Of The Armenian Genocide The Armenian Genocide was perhaps considered the first genocide that ever occurred in the 20th century in 1915, which was also around the time where WWI began. The Armenian Genocide was responsible for the deaths of between 664,000 to roughly 1.5 million Armenians living in the Ottoman Empire, caused by a political group called the Young Turks in an attempt to Turkify the Empire and kill off supposed Armenian traitors. But before the genocide began, Armenians were already in a fierce struggle with the Ottoman Empiretrying to gain autonomy. The Ottoman population was mostly Muslim, and most of them resented the Armenians because they were not Muslims like them, but Christian. Many Muslims believed Armenians to be more educated and wealthier than them, despite Armenians having fewer rights and having to pay higher taxes. Most Armenians weren t even rich, they were actually poor. But over time, the Muslims resentment grew over time, with each assumption of Armenians bringing them closer and closer to get rid of them. During an Armenian campaign that called for Armenians having civil rights, a Turkish sultan named Abdel Hamid II became frustrated by their rebellious actions, and in 1890, he declared to give the Armenians a box on the ear which will make them...relinquish their revolutionary ambitions (Armenian Genocide). A series of massacres were committed against the Armenians soon after, and by 1896, 80,000 Armenians had been murdered by the Ottomans. Armenians lived
