In my ranking of leadership qualities, I will provide my top 5, as there are many traits that a good leader could have.
Honesty
Commitment
Communication
Positivity
Inspiring
I believe honesty to be central to leadership, because honesty fosters trust and trust from subordinates and superiors is essential to be effective in a leadership role. Commitment is ranked second because there needs to be a level of focus on the job and being committed to success has shown time and time again that leaders are driven toward success (CCL.org, 2019). Ranked third is communication – a leader must be able to communicate clearly and effectively at multiple levels; running a team means guiding different people and knowing how each one communicates is key to getting a point across. Positivity is ranked at four because it is important to have a positive attitude with subordinates even if they are struggling because that positivity could lead to increased production. Lastly, I put inspiring at sixth, because as a leader, you are looked up to and people look to be inspired by a leader to carve their own path to success.
As far as ethics is concerned, as a leader it is imperative to have ethical standing and be focused on being ethical and practical. Especially with peers that are struggling there is an important factor to focus on regarding communicating properly with subordinates to avoid HR situations. The ethical strengths would be making sure the peer is okay and focusing on their wellbeing, as well as their output. The only issue would come from executive leadership looking down upon an individual and having to stick up for the struggling person, even though its toward executives. Situations like that can put a leader on shaky ground to look out for themselves and their subordinates as well.

Every leader has certain strengths and weaknesses. I believe that a leader has to focus on certain qualities and adjust them to accommodate their followers and goal. According to an article I read some of the qualities associated with a great leader consist of effectiveness, engagement, active listening, effective delegation and more. (Hartman,2018). I agree with all of these qualities, but would also include empathy in that list. I believe that a great leader is empathetic and understands the reasons and emotions of his followers.

Her key leadership principle focuses on how she can help other people: “Constant learning, sharing, and reaching out to help others succeed.” Among the accolades she has received is recognition as a member of Hispanic Business Magazine’s Top 25 Elite.
Elizondo believes that a key role of a leader is to make a difference one employee at a time, such as helping an employee develop new skills or get promoted. Lora J. Villarreal, executive vice president and chief people officer at Xerox, had this to say about Elizondo: “Patricia exceeds the qualities of an executive leader. She constantly demonstrates perseverance, commitment, and willingness to go beyond the call of duty in all undertakings.”
Five basic principles are the foundation of Elizondo’s life, career, and approach to leading others. First, it is necessary to embrace change and be flexible because so much change takes place in organizations of all types. Second, collaborate and build bridges in order to advance your ideas and move your projects forward. Third, seek knowledge, because knowledge makes you powerful and gives you substance. Fourth, demonstrate measurable value, because knowledge alone is not as useful as achieving and accomplishing something with that knowledge. Fifth, know what you want by having your personal definition of success.
Elizondo’s first professional position was as a customer service representative at the Indiana University Credit Union. She received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a master’s degree in business administration from Notre Dame University.[1]

Subjective Ethical Theories
I. Emotivism Criticism
According to this theory, moral judgments have
no cognitive content, thus no truth value. Moral
judgments merely reflect subjective attitudes
and emotions. Without a truth value, there can
be no moral statements! Thus, “it is morally
wrong to hit an innocent child” becomes a moral
utterance, neither true nor false.
The theory contradicts many of
our deeply held moral
convictions. For example, the
theories denies that, “Killing
babies for fun is morally wrong”
is a true statement.
II. Approbative Ethical Theories
A. The Divine Command Theory
According to this theory, an action is only morally
right because God approves of the action. But, if you
ask why God approves of the action, there seems to
be nothing to say. Thus God has no moral reasons
for that of which He approves!
The theory robs God of having
moral reasons for that of which He
approves.
B. Subjective Relativism
According to this theory, an action is morally right
simply because the agent (the one doing the action)
approves of the action. No matter how atrocious the
behavior may appear to others, as long as the agent
believes the behavior is morally right, it is!
The theory implies that every
individual is morally infallible, which
is extremely unlikely to be true.
C. Cultural Relativism
According to this theory, an action is morally right
because one’s culture approves of the action. Thus it
is cultures who create moral values by believing in
them collectively. If there is disagreement within a
culture, then an action is morally right because the
majority of one’s culture approves of the action.
This theory implies that there can
be no moral progress over time. It
implies that every culture (past and
present) has moral values that are
equally correct. The theory implies
that moral issues can be settled by
taking a survey. Far from justifying
the moral rightness of tolerance,
the theory undermines the view
that tolerance is objectively morally
right, as well as any other objective
moral value. Finally, while it does
recognize that individuals can be
mistaken in their moral judgments,
it does imply that every culture is
morally infallible, which is
extremely unlikely to be true.

SCORING AND INTERPRETATION: A recent view of leadership called Level 5 leadership says that the most successful leaders have two prominent qualities: humility and will. Give 1 point for each item marked Mostly True.

“Humility” means a quiet, modest, self-effacing manner. A humble person puts group or organizational success ahead of personal success. “Will” means a quiet but fierce resolve to stay the course to achieve the group's desired outcome and to help the group succeed. The traits of humility and will are opposite the traditional idea of leadership as loud and self-centered. If you scored 3 or 4 on either humility or will, you are on track to Level 5 leadership, which says that ordinary people often make excellent leaders.

Nature of Leadership
In most situations, a team, military unit, department, or volunteer group is only as good as its leader. Yet there are as many variations among leaders as there are among other individuals, and many different styles of leadership can be effective.
So, what does it mean to be a leader? Among all the ideas and writings about leadership, three aspects stand out—people, influence, and goals. Leadership occurs among people, involves the use of influence, and is used to attain goals.2Influence means that the relationship among people is not passive. Moreover, influence is designed to achieve some end or goal. Thus, leadership as defined here is the ability to influence people toward the attainment of goals. This definition captures the idea that leaders are involved with other people in the achievement of goals. Leadership is reciprocal, occurring among people.3 Leadership is a “people” activity, distinct from administrative paperwork or problem-solving activities.

Leadership books abound. Yet there are very few that put Values first before all those leadership skills. In this book, Harry Krammer explains the Four principles of Value-Based leadership and has shared his personal experiences to validate how these principles do work .
When Leaders engage in Self-reflection ( Principle # 1) followed by Balance, True-Self-confidence and Genuine Humility, then the organization has a much greater chance of leading the Values instead of with Egos. He also shares why positive core business ethics create greater shareholder value. One excellent point he discusses is the difference between what is legal and what is right.
Talent Management and leadership development are far more effective when approaching these two elements from a Values driven position. After all, organizations are all about people united to achieve those big, hairy audacious goals that would be fare ore difficult if not impossible to achieve individually.
Silo thinking is also viewed within the circle of Leadership. When this happens, my turf or silo becomes bigger than the organization’s big vision and this creates poor performance.
Another advantage to leading from a position of high ethics is motivation and team engagement. Teams do not come together naturally, but “ are developed purposefully and with intention”.
The end result from Values to Action is precisely that action or execution and implementation. Failed execution can more often than not be laid at the feet of leadership and not extenuating circumstances.
Values are not bullet points on a Corporate website or motivational phrases on a poster in a lunch room.. Some companies talk a good game and have plaques on the wall stating their Mission & Values, but their day-to-day actions tell a different story.

The Questioned Documents Unit (QDU) provides forensic support to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies by conducting examinations on evidence collected during their investigation as well as expert testimony concerning information contained in the reports. The Cryptanalysis and Racketeering Records Unit (CRRU) supports law enforcement by assisting in the analysis of cryptic communications such as codes found in letters, notes and diaries (FBI.gov).
After an individual is arrested, I will obtain fingerprints and photographs of the subject and complete a number of forms that are used to start a criminal file on the subject. I will use the Buccal Collection DNA test kit provided by the FBI on my subject. Once completed properly and submitted to the FBI, the kit will be sent to the Federal DNA Database Unit (FDDU). The FDDU will take the DNA test kit and upload it into NDIS creating a DNA profile for my subject. The subject’s DNA profile will be searched against unknown forensic profiles from crime scenes across the country. If my subject’s DNA matches with another crime from another state he can be charged for that crimes as well. In my opinion this is the most important service the FBI has. This allows all agencies to communicate and share information based off of DNA evidence. The flaw is that they need the criminal to be apprehended and processed in order for the DNA to be in the system.
In Knoxville Tennessee, FBI Emergency Response agents train how to excavate a body at the Body Farm. The agents pair up in teams with forensic anthropologists to learn how to best identify and excavate human remains to preserve the clues and pieces of evidence that decaying bodies may leave behind. The weeklong training gives agents step by step instructions while surprising the agents with twists and surprises during their excavations. This was very interesting to me because it helps put things into perspective. Teaches them to put the victim first, which will motivate them to slow down, be methodical with their techniques and be very thorough because it only can be done once.

I. Emotivism Criticism
According to this theory, moral judgments have
no cognitive content, thus no truth value. Moral
judgments merely reflect subjective attitudes
and emotions. Without a truth value, there can
be no moral statements! Thus, “it is morally
wrong to hit an innocent child” becomes a moral
utterance, neither true nor false.
The theory contradicts many of
our deeply held moral
convictions. For example, the

is a true statement.
II. Approbative Ethical Theories
A. The Divine Command Theory
According to this theory, an action is only morally
right because God approves of the action. But, if you
ask why God approves of the action, there seems to
be nothing to say. Thus God has no moral reasons
for that of which He approves!

B. Subjective Relativism
According to this theory, an action is morally right
simply because the agent (the one doing the action)

C. Cultural Relativism
According to this theory, an action is morally right

is cultures who create moral values by believing in

be no moral progress over time. It

In most situations, a team, military unit, department, or volunteer group is only as good as its leader. Yet there are as many variations among leaders as there are among other individuals, and many different styles of leadership can be effective.
So, what does it mean to be a leader? Among all the ideas and writings about leadership, three aspects stand out—people, influence, and goals. Leadership occurs among people, involves the use of influence, and is used to attain goals.2Influence means that the relationship among people is not passive. Moreover, influence is designed to achieve some end or goal. Thus, leadership as defined here is the ability to influence people toward the attainment of goals. This definition captures the idea that leaders are involved with other people in the achievement of goals. Leadership is reciprocal, occurring among people.3 Leadership is a “people” activity, distinct from administrative paperwork or problem-solving activities.

Leadership books abound. Yet there are very few that put Values first before all those leadership skills. In this book, Harry Krammer explains the Four principles of Value-Based leadership and has shared his personal experiences to validate how these principles do work .
When Leaders engage in Self-reflection ( Principle # 1) followed by Balance, True-Self-confidence and Genuine Humility, then the organization has a much greater chance of leading the Values instead of with Egos. He also shares why positive core business ethics create greater shareholder value. One excellent point he discusses is the difference between what is legal and what is right.
Talent Management and leadership development are far more effective when approaching these two elements from a Values driven position. After all, organizations are all about people united to achieve those big, hairy audacious goals that would be fare ore difficult if not impossible to achieve individually.
Silo thinking is also viewed within the circle of Leadership. When this happens, my turf or silo becomes bigger than the organization’s big vision and this creates poor performance.
Another advantage to leading from a position of high ethics is motivation and team engagement. Teams do not come together naturally, but “ are developed purposefully and with intention”.
The end result from Values to Action is precisely that action or execution and implementation. Failed execution can more often than not be laid at the feet of leadership and not extenuating circumstances.
Values are not bullet points on a Corporate website or motivational phrases on a poster in a lunch room.. Some companies talk a good game and have plaques on the wall stating their Mission & Values, but their day-to-day actions tell a different story.

In Knoxville Tennessee, FBI Emergency Response agents train how to excavate a body at the Body Farm. The agents pair up in teams with forensic anthropologists to learn how to best identify and excavate human remains to preserve the clues and pieces of evidence that decaying bodies may leave behind. The weeklong training gives agents step by step instructions while surprising the agents with twists and surprises during their excavations. This was very interesting to me because it helps put things into perspective. Teaches them to put the victim first, which will motivate them to slow down, be methodical with their techniques and be very thorough because it only can be done once.
