This document contains reviews of two different double page spreads - one for the band My Chemical Romance and one for an unspecified band. The reviews note positive aspects like well-laid out columns and good pictures capturing the essence of the bands. Negative aspects included inconsistent background colors, images not being big enough, and small hard-to-read page numbers. Colors, layout, pictures and readability were some of the criteria used to evaluate the effectiveness of the spreads.

1. This text is of very poor quality, It looks like it has been created in word and rushed. There are also too many colours in the text and do not go with the other colours used. The column width and positioning have been done well and the columns look good as they are the same with. They have also been spaced the same amount apart. The colours which have been used across this whole double page spread are not the same throughout. The back round colours are not the same on either side so they do not look professional. The page numbers are to big for the page but they go with the black graphics which have also been used on the page. I believe the main picture of this double page spread is bad because this image is not big enough. It needs to be the main image of the page and is not worthy of it. Splash graphics irrelevant.

2. This text is very big and very bold, so it immediately stands out to the reader. The colours which have also been used also make the words stand out. They give the impression that it is very loud and ‘in your face’. The cracked words also show that my chemical romance may be ‘unhinged’ in the way that they perform. The pictures which have been used on the double page spread are very good and capture the band in their essence. They give the reader a direct insight into how they perform, these images have been used for this double page spread because it gives the reader a direct view into the life of the band. The column widths and text are very well laid out. Both of the columns are of equal width and give a very professional feel. The page numbers on this page are of a very dark colour and very small. This is bad because the reader will not know which page they are on. The three main colours which have been used on this double page spread are red, white and black. These three colours have been used because they stand out and work well together.

3. This double page spread is largely dominated by the picture of the band. All members of the band are looking directly into the camera, this gives a feeling that they are looking directly at the reader. The facial expressions of all of the members of the band are serious which suggest that this is an interview which is very open and direct. There are only page numbers on one of the sides of the spread and it is also very small. The colours which have been used on this double paged spread is this off white vintage colour. This colour has been used to show that this band may be from another time. They have also used a very light blue colour for some of the pull quotes. They have done this so that it stand out well against the background. The text which they have used is very simple. They have done this so that the readers find it very easy to read.
