A FRAMEWORK FOR MOBILE VIDEO STREAMING AND VIDEO SHARING IN CLOUDJournal For Research
The transmission of data has grown over years in all the streams of technology. Video and image data plays a very important position in communication around the globe. The usage of Medias over mobile devices had exploded years ago in technology. However, the usage of traditional network connecting protocols and the service providers are providing lack of quality in services. As the number of users who uses mobile phones is increasing day by day the video traffic over network is also increasing thereby causes disruption in the service which is caused by low bandwidth. Due to this disruption the wireless cannot able to satisfy the users demand for video streaming which eventually causes long buffering time. Influencing cloud computing knowledge to gain advantage over this issue we suggest two solutions. i) Mobile Video Streaming (MoV) and Social Video Sharing (SoV). MoV will create a private cloud for each mobile user which adjusts the bit rate based on return value using scalable video coding technique to improve the scalability and efficient utilization of bandwidth. SoV uses the agent to pre fetch the video data for effective sharing and to reduce the buffering time.
Optimizing cloud resources for delivering iptv services through virtualizationMadan Golla
Cloud computing allows users to access data and applications from any device through the internet. It provides Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS) and Software as a service (SaaS) through public, private or hybrid clouds. Internet Protocol television (IPTV) delivers video and audio over the internet to computers, televisions or mobile devices. The existing IPTV system has high server usage during instant channel changes but servers are idle at other times. A new system is proposed to dynamically shift resources between IPTV services using cloud computing and virtualization to better utilize servers.
This document discusses two models for integrating cloud computing and telecom:
1) Creating a cloud using telecom equipment by pooling resources and virtualizing servers. This reduces costs but maintenance is complicated.
2) Using optimized cloud solutions with high-capacity telecom equipment from a single vendor. This provides high connectivity, security, and support but the operator relies on one vendor.
It also proposes running Asterisk IPPBX on the cloud, which offers a cost-effective way for businesses to gain voice and data convergence benefits while scaling easily. Running call centers and quality assurance testing for open source apps are also good cloud uses. Integration challenges include security, data laws across jurisdictions, and downtime impacts.
Video transmission over wireless networks is considered the most interesting application in our daily life nowadays. As
mobile data rates continue to increase and more people rely on wireless transmission, the amount of video transmitted over at least one
wireless hop will likely continue to increase. This kind of application needs large bandwidth, efficient routing protocols, and content
delivery methods to provide smooth video playback to the receivers. Current generation wireless networks are likely to operate on
internet technology combined with various access technologies. Achieving effective bandwidth aggregation in wireless environments
raises several challenges related to deployment, link heterogeneity, Network congestion, network fluctuation, and energy consumption.
In this work, an overview of technical challenges of over wireless networks is presented. A survey of wireless networks in recent video
transmission schemes is introduced. Demonstration results of few scenarios are showed.
Streaming multimedia application for mobile devices for audio & videoMike Taylor
Streaming Multimedia Application for Mobile Devices for interactive streaming of audio and video files, editing, manipulation & tagging platform for content distribution.
This document discusses remote screen rendering and monitoring using cloud and mobile computing. It proposes separating screen rendering from data storage and program execution by using remote servers in the cloud to handle computationally intensive tasks and deliver screen outputs to client devices. The cloud would handle screen capturing, rendering, and delivering rendered screen images to clients. This allows thin clients like mobile devices to access graphically rich applications hosted in the cloud. Various technical aspects of virtualized screen remoting and transmission are also addressed.
A novel adaptive schema to facilitates playback switching technique for video...IJECEIAES
The services of the video on demand (VoD) are currently based on the developments of the technology of the digital video and the network’s high speed. The files of the video are retrieved from many viewers according to the permission, which is given by VoD services. The remote VoD servers conduct this access. A server permits the user to choose videos anywhere/ anytime in order to enjoy a unified control of the video playback. In this paper, a novel adaptive method is produced in order to deliver various facilities of the VoD to all devices that are moving within several networks. This process is performed via mobility modules within the produced method since it applies a seamless playback technique for retrieving the facilities of the VoD through environments of heterogeneous networks. The performance of the simulation is tested for checking clients’ movements through different networks with different sizes and speeds, which are buffered in the storage. It is found to be proven from the results that the handoff latency has various types of rapidity. The method applies smooth connections and delivers various facilities of the VoD. Meantime, the mobile device transfers through different networks. This implies that the system transports video segments easily without encountering any notable effects.

The main problem is to avoid the complexity of retrieving the video content without streaming problem in multi network clients. The proposed work is to improve Collaboration among streaming contents on server resources in order to improve the network performance. Implementing network collaboration on a content delivery scenario, with a strong reduction of data transferred via servers. Audio and video files are transmitted in blocks to clients through the peer using the Network Coding Equivalent Content Distribution scheme. The objective of the system is to tolerate out-of-order arrival of blocks in the stream and is resilient to transmission losses of an arbitrary number of intermediate blocks, without affecting the verifiability of remaining blocks in the stream. To formulate the joint rate control and packet scheduling problem as an integer program where the objective is to minimize a cost function of the expected video distortion. Suggestions of cost functions are proposed in order to provide service differentiation and address fairness among users.
This document summarizes a study on simulating video streaming in multi-hop networks. It discusses using multiple access networks to stream video from a server to clients to aggregate bandwidth. The study formulates the problem of optimizing video streaming over internet packet traces as an integer program to minimize distortion. It proposes authenticating initial video streams using signatures and fragmenting/encoding content into blocks stored across peers to improve security and efficiency of content distribution in the presence of packet loss. Simulation results show this approach can reduce downloading time and avoid data loss during multi-hop video streaming.
A multimedia networking system allows for the data exchange of discrete and continuous media among computers.
This communication requires proper service and protocols for data transmission.
LAYERS: Provide a set of operations to the requesting application. Logically related services are grouped into layers according to the OSI layes.
PROTOCOL: A protocol consists of a set of rules which must be followed by peer layer instances during any communication between these two peers.
Cloud computing refers to computing resources and services that are provided over the internet. It allows users to access applications and store data on remote servers rather than local devices. There are different types of cloud services including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Cloud computing can be deployed using public, private, community, or hybrid models depending on factors like security needs and resource sharing requirements. Many universities and organizations are conducting research on cloud computing technologies.

The document proposes a solution for cooperative packet delivery in hybrid wireless mobile networks using a coalitional game-theoretic approach. Mobile nodes form coalitions to cooperatively deliver packets to reduce delivery delays. A coalitional game model analyzes nodes' incentives to cooperate based on delivery costs and delays. Markov chain and bargaining models determine payoffs to find stable coalitions. Simulation results show nodes achieve higher payoffs by cooperating in coalitions than acting alone.

This document proposes a Community-Aware Opportunistic Routing (CAOR) algorithm for mobile social networks. It models communities as "homes" that nodes frequently visit. The CAOR algorithm computes optimal relay sets for each home to minimize message delivery delays. It represents an improvement over existing social-aware algorithms by achieving optimal routing performance between homes rather than relying on locally optimal node characteristics.

Webinar: Designing a schema for a Data WarehouseFederico Razzoli
Are you new to data warehouses (DWH)? Do you need to check whether your data warehouse follows the best practices for a good design? In both cases, this webinar is for you.
A data warehouse is a central relational database that contains all measurements about a business or an organisation. This data comes from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, which includes databases of any type that back the applications used by the company, data files exported by some applications, or APIs provided by internal or external services.
But designing a data warehouse correctly is a hard task, which requires gathering information about the business processes that need to be analysed in the first place. These processes must be translated into so-called star schemas, which means, denormalised databases where each table represents a dimension or facts.
We will discuss these topics:
- How to gather information about a business;
- Understanding dictionaries and how to identify business entities;
- Dimensions and facts;
- Setting a table granularity;
- Types of facts;
- Types of dimensions;
- Snowflakes and how to avoid them;
- Expanding existing dimensions and facts.

CloudMoV: Cloud-based Mobile Social TV
ABSTRACT:
The rapidly increasing power of personal mobile devices (smart phones, tablets, etc.) is
providing much richer contents and social interactions to users on the move. This trend however
is throttled by the limited battery lifetime of mobile devices and unstable wireless connectivity,
making the highest possible quality of service experienced by mobile users not feasible. The
recent cloud computing technology, with its rich resources to compensate for the limitations of
mobile devices and connections, can potentially provide an ideal platform to support the desired
mobile services. Tough challenges arise on how to effectively exploit cloud resources to
facilitate mobile services, especially those with stringent interaction delay requirements. In this
paper, we propose the design of a Cloud-based, novel Mobile social TV system (CloudMoV).
The system effectively utilizes both PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-
Service) cloud services to offer the living-room experience of video watching to a group of
disparate mobile users who can interact socially while sharing the video. To guarantee good
streaming quality as experienced by the mobile users with time varying wireless connectivity,
we employ a surrogate for each user in the IaaS cloud for video downloading and social
exchanges on behalf of the user. The surrogate performs efficient stream transcoding that
matches the current connectivity quality of the mobile user. Given the battery life as a key
performance bottleneck, we advocate the use of burst transmission from the surrogates to the

2. mobile users, and carefully decide the burst size which can lead to high energy efficiency and
streaming quality. Social interactions among the users, in terms of spontaneous textual
exchanges, are effectively achieved by efficient designs of data storage with Big Table and
dynamic handling of large volumes of concurrent messages in a typical PaaS cloud. These
various designs for flexible transcoding capabilities, battery efficiency of mobile devices and
spontaneous social interactivity together provide an ideal platform for mobile social TV
services. We have implemented CloudMoV on Amazon EC2 and Google App Engine and
verified its superior performance based on real world experiments.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
A number of mobile TV systems have sprung up in recent years, driven by both hardware and
software advances in mobile devices. Some early systems bring the living room experience to
small screens on the move. But they focus more on barrier clearance in order to realize the
convergence of the television network and the mobile network, than exploring the demand of
“social” interactions among mobile users.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
Although many mobile social or media applications have emerged, truly killer ones gaining
mass acceptance are still impeded by the limitations of the current mobile and wireless
technologies, among which battery lifetime and unstable connection bandwidth are the most
difficult ones.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
We propose the design of a Cloud-based, novel Mobile social TV system. The system
effectively utilizes both PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a- Service)
cloud services to offer the living-room experience of video watching to a group of disparate
mobile users who can interact socially while sharing the video. To guarantee good streaming
3. quality as experienced by the mobile users with time varying wireless connectivity, we employ
a surrogate for each user in the IaaS cloud for video downloading and social exchanges on
behalf of the user.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
Encoding flexibility: Different mobile devices have differently sized displays,
customized playback hardware’s, and various codec’s. Traditional solutions would adopt
a few encoding formats ahead of the release of a video program. But even the most
generous content providers would not be able to attend to all possible mobile platforms, if
not only to the current hottest models. CloudMoV customizes the streams for different
devices at real time, by offloading the transcoding tasks to an IaaS cloud.
Battery efficiency: The burst transmission mechanism makes careful decisions on burst
sizes and opportunistic transitions among high/low power consumption modes at the
devices, in order to effectively increase the battery lifetime.
Spontaneous social interactivity: Multiple mechanisms are included in the design of
CloudMoV to enable spontaneous social, co-viewing experience.
Portability: A prototype CloudMov system is implemented following the philosophy of
“Write Once, Run Anywhere” (WORA): both the front-end mobile modules and the
backend server modules are platforms implemented in “100% Pure Java” Our prototype
can be readily migrated to various cloud and mobile with little effort.
MODULE DESCRIPTION:
1. Transcoder
2. Social Cloud
3. Messenger
4. Gateway
5. Subscribe
4. Transcoder
It resides in each surrogate, and is responsible for dynamically deciding how to encode the
video stream from the video source in the appropriate format, dimension, and bit rate. Before
delivery to the user, the video stream is further encapsulated into a proper transport stream.
Each video is exported as MPEG-2 transport streams, which is the de facto standard nowadays
to deliver digital video and audio streams over lossy medium
Social Cloud
Social network is a dynamic virtual organization with inherent trust relationships between
friends. This dynamic virtual organization can be created since these social networks reflect real
world relationships. It allows users to interact, form connections and share information with one
another. This trust can be used as a foundation for information, hardware and services sharing
in a Social Cloud.
Messenger
It is the client side of the social cloud, residing in each surrogate in the IaaS cloud. The
Messenger periodically queries the social cloud for the social data on behalf of the mobile user
and pre-processes the data into a light-weighted format (plain text files), at a much lower
frequency. The plain text files are asynchronously delivered from the surrogate to the user in a
traffic-friendly manner, i.e., little traffic is incurred. In the reverse direction, the messenger
disseminates this user’s messages (invitations and chat messages) to other users via the data
store of the social cloud.
Gateway
5. The gateway provides authentication services for users to log in to the CloudMoV system, and
stores users’ credentials in a permanent table of a MySQL database it has installed. It also stores
information of the pool of currently available VMs in the IaaS cloud in another in-memory
table. After a user successfully logs in to the system, a VM surrogate will be assigned from the
pool to the user. The in-memory table is used to guarantee small query latencies, since the VM
pool is updated frequently as the gateway reserves and destroys VM instances according to the
current workload. In addition, the gateway also stores each user’s friend list in a plain text file
(in XML formats), which is immediately uploaded to the surrogate after it is assigned to the
user.
