The document discusses the first successful hybrid stent-grafting procedure of the thoracic aorta, performed in 1991 in Ukraine, with 23 years of successful follow-up. It provides details of the hybrid procedure which involved debranching of arteries and placement of an endoprosthesis. CT scans from 10 and 23 years post-operatively showed the endoprosthesis remained stable and in position, and blood flow to the brain and upper body remained normal. The hybrid approach was concluded to be an effective long-term treatment for complex aortic arch aneurysms.
