Does Laser Treatment to Stop
      Smoking Work?

                By
   http://2stopsmokingtips.com
Introduction
• If you are desperate to quit smoking
  and have tried several smoking
  cessation techniques only to return
to cigarettes after a while, the laser
  treatment to stop smoking might
  work for you.
What is Laser Treatment?
• Laser treatment is a novel introduction to the stop
smoking industry. It is one of the therapies used to help
smokers drop off cigarettes. The term “laser”
originated as an acronym for Light Amplification by
Stimulated Emission of Radiation. According to
Wikipedia, a laser is “is a device that emits light
(electromagnetic radiation) through a process of
optical amplification based on the stimulated emission
  of photons.”
• In very lay terms, Cold Laser Therapy is also referred to
as Low-Level Laser Therapy. Laser is proficient in
  exciting or preventing cell functions.
What is Cold Laser Therapy?
• It involves the use of a “cold” laser light to
cure certain health conditions. Because it
heals and repairs tissue, Cold Laser Therapy
has been used to successfully treat many kinds
of injuries. It has also been found to be a
highly effective treatment for all forms of
  addiction (alcohol, drug and cigarette
addiction) as well as weight control.
What is Cold Laser Therapy?(2)
• When it comes to helping people stop
smoking, Cold Laser Therapy is increasingly
being used. It must be noted that the laser
treatment used to stop smoking is comparable
to acupuncture. The laser light stimulates cells
in the same way as an acupuncture
needle, but doesn’t leave any scars, as the
  therapy is not all-encompassing.
What is Cold Laser Therapy?(3)
• Laser treatment is highly recommended if you
have tried other smoking cessation techniques
and failed or you just can’t break the “habit” part
of smoking. It helps with the initial withdrawal
symptoms. But it doesn’t take away the desire to
  smoke.
• Said to be a safe and drug-free treatment that
has been used in major countries of the world for
over 18 years, with no known adverse side
effects, Laser therapy is cherished by many
physicians as a highly effective treatment.
How does Laser Therapy work?
• According to the American Cancer Society, “Cold laser
therapy providers advertise this method as a way to
help people quit smoking, and some TV stations have
reported this as news. The treatment is supposed to
relax the smoker and release endorphins (naturally-
occurring pain relief substances) in the body to
simulate the effects of nicotine in the brain, or balance
the body’s energy to relieve the addiction. Despite
claims of success by some cold laser therapy
providers, there is no scientific evidence that shows
this is an effective method of helping people stop
  smoking. ”
How does Laser Therapy work?(2)
• Proponents of the laser therapy say the success
rate of this method is three to four times higher
than usual methods. The rate of success is
  claimed to be over 80%.
• However, critics of laser treatment say that its
success rate is comparable to that of a placebo
treatment and that 19% of the people using this
treatment do not receive the desired effect.
• The treatment involves 2 to 3 sessions of about
  15 minutes each.
How does Laser Therapy work?(3)
• The results depend on the level of your addiction.
During the treatment session, waves of soft and
supple light is passed through different parts of
the body including the hands, face, ear or head to
produce the natural chemical – endorphin. This
natural pain-relieving substance brings down the
level of anxiety and eases stress, thereby making
you feel calm and relaxed. The laser light
functions just like nicotine in the
  body.Thus,without dragging a cigarette,you still
feel good and stay calm with the help of laser
  therapy.

            Laser Treatment
• Whichever method you want to use to quit
smoking will only work when you’re truly
ready to quit. If you don’t want to
quit, nothing will make you quit. If you think
that the laser treatment will somehow give
you a warning sign when you want to
smoke, you are wrong. It’s ultimately up to
  you! All other techniques, including
laser, assist you to a certain point but they
don’t do the job for you.

          Laser Treatment(2)
• The sad thing is that we live in a society which
emphasizes using pills to make us perform
well in bed, lose weight, cease smoking, happy
and God knows what else. Smart alecs
capitalize on this and smile to the bank. But
people should know that for everything you
want in life, you must be prepared to pay the
price, you must be ready to put in some effort.
Get This Straight Before You Go For
          Laser Treatment(3)
• If you want to look good, you have to go
through fitness programs. If you want to be
healthy, you need to eat healthy, think healthy
and exercise even when you don’t feel like
doing so…. and if you want to be drop off
cigarettes, you have to first make your brain
  really really desire it.
Get This Straight Before You Go For
          Laser Treatment(4)
• Don’t think this is a miracle treatment that will
never make you want to smoke. YOU have to
have a strong desire to kick the habit. Plenty
of times, you will be tempted to smoke, so
have a way of staying committed to your stop
  smoking goal.
Cost of Treatment
• Laser Treatment centers charge from $50 to $120
for an hour’s worth of session but this may vary
according to your specialist and your location.
Some centers are known to charge between $300
  to $400.
• Along with the laser therapy, some centers give
advice on weight loss as well as nutritional
counseling,to assist patients to avoid weight gain
  during their quit smoking therapy.
Pros and Cons of Laser Treatment
• 1. The main advantage of laser treatment over other
methods, such as patches, is that it doesn’t introduce
  any chemicals into the body.
• 2. It works well with the physical habit of smoking but
nothing for the emotional end. Consequently, it
doesn’t last for most people as the emotions are too
hard to deal with. Laser treatment is highly
recommended if you have tried all else and failed or
you just can’t break the “habit” part of smoking. It
helps with the initial withdrawal symptoms. But it
doesn’t take away the desire to smoke.
Advantages of Laser Treatment
• 3. It helps to eliminate nicotine from your body fast.In
actual fact,3-5 days are enough to rid your body of
nicotine and laser therapy helps you achieve this by
stimulating the cells to release endorphins naturally for
  a longer period of time.
• 4. Results are almost immediate. You can notice the
effect of the treatment after the first session. So there
is no issue of waiting for months to see results as in
case of quitting smoking with help of pills or patches.
• 5. This drug-free method of quitting smoking is very
  safe.
Disadvantages of Laser Treatment
• 1. The laser treatment to stop smoking is not
  considered a medical treatment and
will, therefore, not be covered by health insurance.
The price for a laser treatment to stop smoking
can run as much as $349 for a half-hour laser
  application session, video, and vitamin
supplements claimed to detoxify the body of the
harmful substances it has accumulated from
smoking. Various practitioners of the laser
treatment to stop smoking each have their own
programs so you should research your options.
Disadvantages of Laser Treatment(2)
• 2.Despite the fact that its damn
expensive, you may have to go for more than
one session to achieve success with Laser
  therapy.
• 3. The low-level laser does not get rid of your
  psychological addiction to nicotine. Each
smoker has a unique addiction level, so laser
therapy cannot be guaranteed. Success with
this method, to a large extent, lies in the
hands of the patient and the therapist.
Gone for Laser Therapy, So What
                 Next?
• If you have gone for Laser Therapy to stop
smoking, just know there is more to it than just getting
  the treatment.
• You need to cleanse your system thoroughly. Drink
water like a fish. For a couple of weeks, take vitamin C
daily. In the U.S., the recommended dietary allowance
(RDA) for vitamin C was revised in 2000 upward from
the previous recommendation of 60 mg daily for men
and women. The RDA continues to be based primarily
on the prevention of deficiency disease, rather than
the prevention of chronic disease and the promotion of
  optimum health.
Gone for Laser Therapy, So What
               Next?(2)
• The recommended intake for smokers is 35
mg/day higher than for non-smokers, because
smokers are under increased oxidative stress
from the toxins in cigarette smoke and
generally have lower blood levels of vitamin C.
• Eat a healthy and balanced diet. This helps in
re-building the tissues broken down by many
  years of smoking.
Gone for Laser Therapy, So What
               Next?(3)
• Remember to add Chlorophyll to your diet.
Chlorophyll is the major light-absorbing pigment
found in green plants. It helps to cleanse the
body, aid growth and repair of tissues. It can be
found in green leafy vegetables like
  spinach, lettuce, beet greens, green
peppers, peas, green beans, leeks, etc.
However, cooking the vegetables destroy a
  substantial amount of chlorophyll, therefore
going for chlorophyll supplements provides more
  benefits than simply taking vegetables.
Gone for Laser Therapy, So What
               Next?(4)
• Cranberries and blueberries are good as they are
anti-oxidants. Antioxidants are the body’s major
defense against causes of common illnesses such
as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
• You may have to visit the rest room now and then
because of your daily intake of Vitamin C, water
and Chlorophyll, but you are getting rid of all the
toxins in your system and that helps reduce any
urge you may have to smoke.
Conclusion
• Avoid the triggers,(morning coffee, cigarettes
and ash trays, events that will lead to
smoking, etc ) whatever the triggers are ,get
  rid of them.

Does laser treatment to stop smoking work

  • 1. Does Laser Treatment to Stop Smoking Work? By http://2stopsmokingtips.com
  • 2. Introduction • If you are desperate to quit smoking and have tried several smoking cessation techniques only to return to cigarettes after a while, the laser treatment to stop smoking might work for you.
  • 3. What is Laser Treatment? • Laser treatment is a novel introduction to the stop smoking industry. It is one of the therapies used to help smokers drop off cigarettes. The term “laser” originated as an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. According to Wikipedia, a laser is “is a device that emits light (electromagnetic radiation) through a process of optical amplification based on the stimulated emission of photons.” • In very lay terms, Cold Laser Therapy is also referred to as Low-Level Laser Therapy. Laser is proficient in exciting or preventing cell functions.
  • 4. What is Cold Laser Therapy? • It involves the use of a “cold” laser light to cure certain health conditions. Because it heals and repairs tissue, Cold Laser Therapy has been used to successfully treat many kinds of injuries. It has also been found to be a highly effective treatment for all forms of addiction (alcohol, drug and cigarette addiction) as well as weight control.
  • 5. What is Cold Laser Therapy?(2) • When it comes to helping people stop smoking, Cold Laser Therapy is increasingly being used. It must be noted that the laser treatment used to stop smoking is comparable to acupuncture. The laser light stimulates cells in the same way as an acupuncture needle, but doesn’t leave any scars, as the therapy is not all-encompassing.
  • 6. What is Cold Laser Therapy?(3) • Laser treatment is highly recommended if you have tried other smoking cessation techniques and failed or you just can’t break the “habit” part of smoking. It helps with the initial withdrawal symptoms. But it doesn’t take away the desire to smoke. • Said to be a safe and drug-free treatment that has been used in major countries of the world for over 18 years, with no known adverse side effects, Laser therapy is cherished by many physicians as a highly effective treatment.
  • 7. How does Laser Therapy work? • According to the American Cancer Society, “Cold laser therapy providers advertise this method as a way to help people quit smoking, and some TV stations have reported this as news. The treatment is supposed to relax the smoker and release endorphins (naturally- occurring pain relief substances) in the body to simulate the effects of nicotine in the brain, or balance the body’s energy to relieve the addiction. Despite claims of success by some cold laser therapy providers, there is no scientific evidence that shows this is an effective method of helping people stop smoking. ”
  • 8. How does Laser Therapy work?(2) • Proponents of the laser therapy say the success rate of this method is three to four times higher than usual methods. The rate of success is claimed to be over 80%. • However, critics of laser treatment say that its success rate is comparable to that of a placebo treatment and that 19% of the people using this treatment do not receive the desired effect. • The treatment involves 2 to 3 sessions of about 15 minutes each.
  • 9. How does Laser Therapy work?(3) • The results depend on the level of your addiction. During the treatment session, waves of soft and supple light is passed through different parts of the body including the hands, face, ear or head to produce the natural chemical – endorphin. This natural pain-relieving substance brings down the level of anxiety and eases stress, thereby making you feel calm and relaxed. The laser light functions just like nicotine in the body. Thus, without dragging a cigarette, you still feel good and stay calm with the help of laser therapy.
  • 10. Get This Straight Before You Go For Laser Treatment • Whichever method you want to use to quit smoking will only work when you’re truly ready to quit. If you don’t want to quit, nothing will make you quit. If you think that the laser treatment will somehow give you a warning sign when you want to smoke, you are wrong. It’s ultimately up to you! All other techniques, including laser, assist you to a certain point but they don’t do the job for you.
  • 11. Get This Straight Before You Go For Laser Treatment(2) • The sad thing is that we live in a society which emphasizes using pills to make us perform well in bed, lose weight, cease smoking, happy and God knows what else. Smart alecs capitalize on this and smile to the bank. But people should know that for everything you want in life, you must be prepared to pay the price, you must be ready to put in some effort.
  • 12. Get This Straight Before You Go For Laser Treatment(3) • If you want to look good, you have to go through fitness programs. If you want to be healthy, you need to eat healthy, think healthy and exercise even when you don’t feel like doing so…. and if you want to be drop off cigarettes, you have to first make your brain really really desire it.
  • 13. Get This Straight Before You Go For Laser Treatment(4) • Don’t think this is a miracle treatment that will never make you want to smoke. YOU have to have a strong desire to kick the habit. Plenty of times, you will be tempted to smoke, so have a way of staying committed to your stop smoking goal.
  • 14. Cost of Treatment • Laser Treatment centers charge from $50 to $120 for an hour’s worth of session but this may vary according to your specialist and your location. Some centers are known to charge between $300 to $400. • Along with the laser therapy, some centers give advice on weight loss as well as nutritional counseling,to assist patients to avoid weight gain during their quit smoking therapy.
  • 15. Pros and Cons of Laser Treatment • 1. The main advantage of laser treatment over other methods, such as patches, is that it doesn’t introduce any chemicals into the body. • 2. It works well with the physical habit of smoking but nothing for the emotional end. Consequently, it doesn’t last for most people as the emotions are too hard to deal with. Laser treatment is highly recommended if you have tried all else and failed or you just can’t break the “habit” part of smoking. It helps with the initial withdrawal symptoms. But it doesn’t take away the desire to smoke.
  • 16. Advantages of Laser Treatment • 3. It helps to eliminate nicotine from your body fast.In actual fact,3-5 days are enough to rid your body of nicotine and laser therapy helps you achieve this by stimulating the cells to release endorphins naturally for a longer period of time. • 4. Results are almost immediate. You can notice the effect of the treatment after the first session. So there is no issue of waiting for months to see results as in case of quitting smoking with help of pills or patches. • 5. This drug-free method of quitting smoking is very safe.
  • 17. Disadvantages of Laser Treatment • 1. The laser treatment to stop smoking is not considered a medical treatment and will, therefore, not be covered by health insurance. The price for a laser treatment to stop smoking can run as much as $349 for a half-hour laser application session, video, and vitamin supplements claimed to detoxify the body of the harmful substances it has accumulated from smoking. Various practitioners of the laser treatment to stop smoking each have their own programs so you should research your options.
  • 18. Disadvantages of Laser Treatment(2) • 2.Despite the fact that its damn expensive, you may have to go for more than one session to achieve success with Laser therapy. • 3. The low-level laser does not get rid of your psychological addiction to nicotine. Each smoker has a unique addiction level, so laser therapy cannot be guaranteed. Success with this method, to a large extent, lies in the hands of the patient and the therapist.
  • 19. Gone for Laser Therapy, So What Next? • If you have gone for Laser Therapy to stop smoking, just know there is more to it than just getting the treatment. • You need to cleanse your system thoroughly. Drink water like a fish. For a couple of weeks, take vitamin C daily. In the U.S., the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin C was revised in 2000 upward from the previous recommendation of 60 mg daily for men and women. The RDA continues to be based primarily on the prevention of deficiency disease, rather than the prevention of chronic disease and the promotion of optimum health.
  • 20. Gone for Laser Therapy, So What Next?(2) • The recommended intake for smokers is 35 mg/day higher than for non-smokers, because smokers are under increased oxidative stress from the toxins in cigarette smoke and generally have lower blood levels of vitamin C. • Eat a healthy and balanced diet. This helps in re-building the tissues broken down by many years of smoking.
  • 21. Gone for Laser Therapy, So What Next?(3) • Remember to add Chlorophyll to your diet. Chlorophyll is the major light-absorbing pigment found in green plants. It helps to cleanse the body, aid growth and repair of tissues. It can be found in green leafy vegetables like spinach, lettuce, beet greens, green peppers, peas, green beans, leeks, etc. However, cooking the vegetables destroy a substantial amount of chlorophyll, therefore going for chlorophyll supplements provides more benefits than simply taking vegetables.
  • 22. Gone for Laser Therapy, So What Next?(4) • Cranberries and blueberries are good as they are anti-oxidants. Antioxidants are the body’s major defense against causes of common illnesses such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. • You may have to visit the rest room now and then because of your daily intake of Vitamin C, water and Chlorophyll, but you are getting rid of all the toxins in your system and that helps reduce any urge you may have to smoke.
  • 23. Conclusion • Avoid the triggers,(morning coffee, cigarettes and ash trays, events that will lead to smoking, etc ) whatever the triggers are ,get rid of them.
