2. Firstly, we dragged our opening video into the top left box so that we could drag
both video and audio onto the timeline together.
3. In this screenshot we have dragged the video onto the timeline and have opted to
mute this video as there was background noise that we do not want in our
documentary.
4. We slowed the video down to make it look like he was opening his eyes in slow
motion, making it more impactful on the viewer.
5. In this screenshot we have used cut tool to edit the video to cut the end of the
video as it wasn’t needed. This makes it look more professional.
6. Then we dragged the first sound effect (an alarm) so that we could listen to it and
see which parts we needed to include.
7. Next, we dragged the sound effect onto the timeline underneath the video in the
A1 line for audio.
8. We then cut the sound effect down to a reasonable size to fit in with the video
above, however, it is shorter than the video as we knew we also wanted to slow
this down.
9. In this screenshot you can see that we right clicked on the audio and clicked
speed and duration to slow the sound down.
10. We then used paint to create a title because we wanted to add an apple logo in
between the letters, we then saved it and added it to the documentary by
dragging it from the media file.
11. In this screenshot we added the first song to our documentary (telephone by
Lady Gaga), we cut the song down to the bit that we wanted and put it so that it
would play in the background of the title sequence.
12. We then dragged the second video to the left hand box so that we could just drag
the video and not the audio.
13. We then dragged the video to the timeline and cut it because there was part at
the end of the video that we didn’t need.
14. In this screenshot you can see how we added the first voiceover which was
initially quite quiet.
15. To make the voiceover louder we right clicked and pressed on audio gain to
make the audio louder.
16. In this screenshot you can see that we also slowed the video down as we initially
captured the video too quickly and it did not quite fit in with the timings.
17. We then dragged the interview that we recorded to the top left box so that we
could drag both the audio and the video together.
18. In this screenshot you can see that we cut the interview in half so that the
documentary appears more interesting as the interview is quite long and might
make the audience bored and not listen to it.
19. Because the audio was too quiet we had to make it louder so that you could hear
it, we did this by using audio gain, we raised the sound to 6dB.
20. To go with the answers to the questions we added images to the interview to
show examples.
21. As you can see the image was too small and you could not see it so we had to
enlarge it by double clicking the right top box and adjusting the size.
22. In this screenshot we dragged another video that will go in-between the interview
questions, this is one of our cut aways that we used make the documentary more
interesting.
23. The video that is displayed in the right hand box was filmed with a zoom and to
emphasise the message we slowed the video down using speed/duration to
make the zoom slow motion.
24. For the audio side of this video we wanted to add another song, as you can see
the song is too long for the video and so we have to cut it down to the right size.
25. In this screenshot you can see that we cut the song down to the part we wanted
and also to the right size.
26. We then moved the second half of the interview back over so that it all fitted
together and flowed right.
27. Following the same idea as the other interview question we added images to go
with what the interviewee was saying showing what the apps looked like on the
phone as examples.
28. We then moved the image to the side so that it did not block the face of the
interviewee and so it did not look out of place or unprofessional.
29. We did this for all the images tat follow, adjusting their size like this one do that it
fitted with the other images.
30. We ended up with four of these images as the interviewee gave four examples of
what they use their phone for. We adjusted the images on the timeline so that
they were in the right order and that they appeared when the interviewee said
them.
31. We then decided to add transitions to our documentary so that they didn’t just cut
and look unprofessional this added a smooth transition to each video.
32. We then added the last recorded video that we took of someone on the phone,
we muted the video as we wanted to put a voiceover over it and there was
background noise that would have interfered with the voiceover.
33. We then added the voiceover to the video and added an audio effect from the
song to the voiceover giving it a smooth transition.
34. We then added the final image for the documentary to end on whilst the
voiceover was still speaking and also linked into what the audio was saying.
