Line Faults
• Power plants in Mindoro are designed to be protected from overloading with
the use of RECLOSERS.
• When line faults occur, regardless of type or cause, the recloser of the
nearest or affected power plant disengages the power from the grid to protect
itself.
• This action causes voltage imbalance in the grid.
• The next power plant senses the voltage imbalance. Its own recloser
disengages the power plant from the grid.
• This event cascades to other power plants, thus causing power interruptions.

On record, Oriental Mindoro officially has over capacity because its 17MW Wind Power Plant. However, its battery capacity is only 2MW or 4MW (check the actual number). Its dependable capacity is only limited to the capacity of its battery.
Some of its high speed diesel power plants are now constantly out of commission.
It’s bunker fired power plant in Bongabong is running under capacity. Its owner is unwilling to rehabilitate to full capacity because of old billing problems.
