Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is a device that can compensate harmonic, voltage sag and voltage swell condition that exists in a three-phase system. Other than that, DVR can also be used to enhance the energy efficiency or energy saving by reducing excessive amount of incoming power via the reduction incoming voltage at allowable limit. The DVR can inject the required voltage in the system so that the interruption of supply voltage can be compensated. The compensation of voltage supply interruption is improved based on the hysteresis voltage output of controller used in the DVR to detect the difference between reference voltage and disrupted voltage. The hysteresis voltage control mainly controlled by relays switching so that the signal can be sent to IGBT switches controller. The hysteresis voltage control and unipolar SPWM is supplied to control the IGBT switches by the DC supply for voltage interruption compensation. The unipolar SPWM technique converts the DC supply voltage into AC supplied voltage, thus making the DVR injection become easier to inject the AC voltage into the system to compensate voltage sag and voltage swell.

Consumer utilities are non –linear in nature. This injects increased flow of current and reduced voltage with distortions which cause adverse effect on the stability of consumer utilities. To overcome this problem we are using a modern Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System controller i.e. distributed power flow controller (DPFC). This controller is similar to UPFC, which can be installed in a transmission line between the two electrical areas. In DPFC, instead of the common Dc link capacitor three single phase converters are used. In this paper we are concentrating on system stability (oscillation damping). For analyzing the stability of a single machine infinite bus system (SMIB) we have used PI controlled Distributed Power Flow Controller (DPFC) and Fuzzy controlled DPFC. All these models are simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Simulation results shows Fuzzy controlled DPFC are better than PI controlled DPFC. Dynamic Spectrum Allocation in Wireless sensor NetworksIJMER
Radio frequency spectrum is considered the most expensive and scarce resource among all wireless
network resources, and it is closely followed by the energy consumption, especially in low energy, battery powered
wireless sensor network devices. These days, there is a tremendous growth in the applications of wireless sensor
networks (WSNs) operating in unlicensed spectrum bands (ISM). Moreover, due to the rapid growth of wireless
devices that are designed to be operated in unlicensed spectrum bands, these spectrum bands have been overcrowded.
The problem with overcrowded spectrum or scarcity of spectrum can be solved by Dynamic Allocation of Spectrum.
In this paper we have presented the implementation and analysis of dynamic spectrum allocation in Wireless Sensors
Networks using the concept of Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Network.
Abstract: most network charges are based on components’
thermal limits providing correct economic signals to
reinforcing network transformers and lines. However, less
attention is drawn to the reinforcement cost driven by
nodal voltage limits, particularly those resulting from
contingencies. In this work, a new charging approach is
proposed in which busbar power perturbation is linked to
busbar voltage degradation rate which, in turn, is related
to the incremental investment cost required to maintain
voltage levels. The incremental cost results by employing
the use of the nodal voltage spare capacity to gauge the
time to invest in a reactive power compensation device for
a defined load growth rate. The time to invest takes into
account the network nodal voltage profiles under N-1
circuit contingencies (one line outage at a time). Further,
the nodal MW and MVAr perturbations are considered in
this paper. This novel approach is demonstrated on the
IEEE 14 bus network, illustrating the difference in charges
when considering contingencies, therefore, providing
correct forward-looking economic signals to potential
network users. In turn, this will help them make informed
decisions as to whether to invest in reactive power
compensation assets or pay the network operators for
reactive power provision. Most importantly, this new
approach outperforms the currently used power factor (pf)
penalty.

Stability of Simply Supported Square Plate with Concentric CutoutIJMER
The finite element method is used to obtain the elastic buckling loads for simply supported isotropic square plate containing circular, square and rectangular cutouts. ANSYS finite element software had been used in the study. The applied inplane loads considered are uniaxial and biaxial compressions. In all the cases the load is distributed uniformly along the plate outer edges. The effects of the size and shape of concentric cutouts with different plate thickness ratios and having all-round simply supported boundary condition on the plate buckling strength have been considered in the analysis. It is found that cutouts have considerable influence on the buckling load factor k and the effect is larger when cutout ratios greater than 0.3 and for thickness ratio greater than 0.15.

Analysis of a Batch Arrival and Batch Service Queuing System with Multiple Va...IJMER
This paper concerns the queuing system MX
/G1, B/1, to which the customers are assumed
to arrive in batches of random size X according to a compound Poisson process and also are served in
batches. As soon as the system becomes empty, the server leaves for a vacation of random length V. If
no customers are available for service after returning from that vacation, the server keeps on taking
vacations till he finds at least one customer in the queue, then immediately begins to serve the
customers up to the service capacity B. If more than B customers are present when the server returns
from a vacation, the first B customers are taken into service. If fewer than B customers are present, all
waiting customers go into service. Late arrivals are not allowed to join the ongoing service. The steady
state behavior of this queuing system is derived by an analytic approach to study the queue size
distribution at a random point as well as a departure point of time under multiple vacation policy. It
may be noted that the results in [5] and [7] can be obtained as special cases from the results in this
paper.

Improving Stability of Utility-Tied Wind Generators using Dynamic Voltage Res...IJMTST Journal
The generation of electricity using wind power is significantly increasing and has received considerable attention in recent years. One important problem with the induction generator based wind farms is that they are vulnerable to voltage disturbances and short circuit faults. Any such disturbance may cause wind farm outages. Since wind power contribution is in considerable percentage, such outages may lead to power system stability issues and also violate the grid code requirements. Thus, improving the reliability of wind farms is essential to maintain the stability of the system. The proposed strategy is to use Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR), which is one of the promising devices to compensate the voltage disturbance and to improve the stability of the system. It provides the wind generator with the fault ride through capability and improves the reliability of the system. Fuzzy Logic controller is used as a controller in order to control the dc link voltages and to reduce the harmonics. Simulation results for a 2 MW wind turbine are presented, especially for asymmetrical grid faults. They show the effectiveness of the DVR in comparison to the low voltage ride-through of the DFIG using a crowbar that does not allow continuous reactive power production. Extensive simulation results are included to illustrate the operation of DVR and fault compensation.
Design and Simulation of Dynamic Voltage Restorer Based on Fuzzy Controller O...IJPEDS-IAES
The fuzzy logic controller (FLC) appears to be the unique solution when the process is too complex for analysis by conventional techniques or when the available information data are interpreted qualitatively, inexactly or with uncertainty. In literature, the proposed FLC in general consists of two inputs (error and derivative of error) and one output. The number of membership functions is chosen in most cases to be five or seven regardless of the approach used for the design. In this paper, we propose Adaptive Neuro- Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) approach to optimize the two inputs one output FLC with seven membership functions to one input one output FLC with three membership functions without compromising accuracy. The study is applied to control a Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) in voltage sag/swell mitigation. The results of simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK show that the performance of the optimal FLC generated by ANFIS is comparable with the initial given FLC.

Mitigation of Voltage Sag/Swell with Fuzzy Control Reduced Rating DVRIJERD Editor
Power quality has been an issue that is becoming increasingly pivotal in industrial electricity
consumers point of view in recent times. Modern industries employ Sensitive power electronic equipments,
control devices and non-linear loads as part of automated processes to increase energy efficiency and
productivity. Voltage disturbances are the most common power quality problem due to this the use of a large
numbers of sophisticated and sensitive electronic equipment in industrial systems is increased. This paper
discusses the design and simulation of dynamic voltage restorer for improvement of power quality and
reduce the harmonics distortion of sensitive loads. Power quality problem is occurring at non-standard
voltage, current and frequency. Electronic devices are very sensitive loads. In power system voltage sag,
swell, flicker and harmonics are some of the problem to the sensitive load. The compensation capability
of a DVR depends primarily on the maximum voltage injection ability and the amount of stored
energy available within the restorer. This device is connected in series with the distribution feeder at
medium voltage. A fuzzy logic control is used to produce the gate pulses for control circuit of DVR and the
circuit is simulated by using MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
Enhancement of Power Quality Problem by Using Dynamic Voltage RestorerAM Publications
Dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) are used to protect sensitive loads from the effects of voltage sags on the
distribution feeder. This paper presents and verifies a novel voltage sag detection technique for use in conjunction
with the main control system of a DVR. In all cases it is necessary for the DVR control system to not only detect the
start and end of a voltage sag but also to determine the sag depth and any associated phase shift. The DVR, which is
placed in series with a sensitive load, must be able to respond quickly to a voltage sag if end users of sensitive
equipment are to experience no voltage sag. The DVR can restore the load voltage within few milliseconds. A control
technique based on a proportional–integral (PI) controller and a selective controller is used. The controller is
designed in a synchronously-rotating reference frame. In fact, three independent controllers have been used to tackle
balanced and unbalanced voltage supplies. Simulation results using ‘MATLAB SIMULINK’ Sim Power System
Toolbox is presented to illustrate the principle and performance of a DVR operation in load voltage compensation.

Simulation and Comparison of DVR and DSTATCOM Used for voltage sag mitigation...paperpublications3
Abstract: Power Quality problem in a system leads to various disturbances such as voltage fluctuations, transients and waveform distortions that results in a mis-operation or a failure of end user equipment. There are different types of custom power devices like Distribution Static Compensator (D-STATCOM) and Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) which can effectively use for mitigation of different type of power quality problems. This paper describes the technique of correcting the supply voltage sag distributed system and also describes performance comparison are presented between DVR and DSTATCOM to know how both the devices successfully been applied to power system for regulating system voltage effectively. DSTATCOM and DVR both of them based on VSI principle. A DVR is a series compensation device which injects a voltage in series with system and a DSTATCOM is a shunt compensation device which injects a current into the system to correct the power quality problems. This paper presents a power system operation with PI controller with abc to dq0 convertor approach. Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) is also calculated for the system with and without compensation. Results are presented to assess the performance of devices as a potential custom power solution. Improve dynamic voltage control and thus increase system load ability. This paper presents modeling and simulation of DVR & DSTATCOM in MATLAB/Simulink.
Power Quality Enhancement using DSTATCOM by Immune Feedback Control Algorithmijtsrd
This paper proposes an immune feedback control algorithm for a three phase distribution static compensator DSTATCOM to mitigate several power quality problems such as harmonics, reactive power, and load unbalancing at distribution level. This control algorithm proposed for DSTATCOM, is validated for maintaining power factor to unity, load balancing, and harmonics reduction of supply currents. In this application, the proposed control algorithm on a DSTATCOM is implemented for the compensation of nonlinear loads. The simulations were performed in the environment of MATLAB SIMULINK. P. A Study on Translucent Concrete Product and Its Properties by Using Optical F...IJMER
- Translucent concrete is a concrete based material with light-transferring properties,
obtained due to embedded light optical elements like Optical fibers used in concrete. Light is conducted
through the concrete from one end to the other. This results into a certain light pattern on the other
surface, depending on the fiber structure. Optical fibers transmit light so effectively that there is
virtually no loss of light conducted through the fibers. This paper deals with the modeling of such
translucent or transparent concrete blocks and panel and their usage and also the advantages it brings
in the field. The main purpose is to use sunlight as a light source to reduce the power consumption of
illumination and to use the optical fiber to sense the stress of structures and also use this concrete as an
architectural purpose of the building

Geochemistry and Genesis of Kammatturu Iron Ores of Devagiri Formation, Sandu...IJMER
The Greenstone belts of Karnataka are enriched in BIFs in Dharwar craton, where Iron
formations are confined to the basin shelf, clearly separated from the deeper-water iron formation that
accumulated at the basin margin and flanking the marine basin. Geochemical data procured in terms of
major, trace and REE are plotted in various diagrams to interpret the genesis of BIFs. Al2O3, Fe2O3 (T),
TiO2, CaO, and SiO2 abundances and ratios show a wide variation. Ni, Co, Zr, Sc, V, Rb, Sr, U, Th,
ΣREE, La, Ce and Eu anomalies and their binary relationships indicate that wherever the terrigenous
component has increased, the concentration of elements of felsic such as Zr and Hf has gone up. Elevated
concentrations of Ni, Co and Sc are contributed by chlorite and other components characteristic of basic
volcanic debris. The data suggest that these formations were generated by chemical and clastic
sedimentary processes on a shallow shelf. During transgression, chemical precipitation took place at the
sediment-water interface, whereas at the time of regression. Iron ore formed with sedimentary structures
and textures in Kammatturu area, in a setting where the water column was oxygenated.

Non linear analysis of Robot Gun Support Structure using Equivalent Dynamic A...IJMER
Robot guns are being increasingly employed in automotive manufacturing to replace
risky jobs and also to increase productivity. Using a single robot for a single operation proves to be
expensive. Hence for cost optimization, multiple guns are mounted on a single robot and multiple
operations are performed. Robot Gun structure is an efficient way in which multiple welds can be done
simultaneously. However mounting several weld guns on a single structure induces a variety of
dynamic loads, especially during movement of the robot arm as it maneuvers to reach the weld
locations. The primary idea employed in this paper, is to model those dynamic loads as equivalent G
force loads in FEA. This approach will be on the conservative side, and will be saving time and
subsequently cost efficient. The approach of the paper is towards creating a standard operating
procedure when it comes to analysis of such structures, with emphasis on deploying various technical
aspects of FEA such as Non Linear Geometry, Multipoint Constraint Contact Algorithm, Multizone
meshing .

Intrusion Detection and Forensics based on decision tree and Association rule...IJMER
This paper present an approach based on the combination of, two techniques using
decision tree and Association rule mining for Probe attack detection. This approach proves to be
better than the traditional approach of generating rules for fuzzy expert system by clustering methods.
Association rule mining for selecting the best attributes together and decision tree for identifying the
best parameters together to create the rules for fuzzy expert system. After that rules for fuzzy expert
system are generated using association rule mining and decision trees. Decision trees is generated for
dataset and to find the basic parameters for creating the membership functions of fuzzy inference
system. Membership functions are generated for the probe attack. Based on these rules we have
created the fuzzy inference system that is used as an input to neuro-fuzzy system. Fuzzy inference
system is loaded to neuro-fuzzy toolbox as an input and the final ANFIS structure is generated for
outcome of neuro-fuzzy approach. The experiments and evaluations of the proposed method were
done with NSL-KDD intrusion detection dataset. As the experimental results, the proposed approach
based on the combination of, two techniques using decision tree and Association rule mining
efficiently detected probe attacks. Experimental results shows better results for detecting intrusions as
compared to others existing methods
Natural Language Ambiguity and its Effect on Machine LearningIJMER
"Natural language processing" here refers to the use and ability of systems to process
sentences in a natural language such as English, rather than in a specialized artificial computer
language such as C++. The systems of real interest here are digital computers of the type we think of as
personal computers and mainframes. Of course humans can process natural languages, but for us the
question is whether digital computers can or ever will process natural languages. We have tried to
explore in depth and break down the types of ambiguities persistent throughout the natural languages
and provide an answer to the question “How it affects the machine translation process and thereby
machine learning as whole?” .
Today in era of software industry there is no perfect software framework available for
analysis and software development. Currently there are enormous number of software development
process exists which can be implemented to stabilize the process of developing a software system. But no
perfect system is recognized till yet which can help software developers for opting of best software
development process. This paper present the framework of skillful system combined with Likert scale. With
the help of Likert scale we define a rule based model and delegate some mass score to every process and
develop one tool name as MuxSet which will help the software developers to select an appropriate
development process that may enhance the probability of system success.
Material Parameter and Effect of Thermal Load on Functionally Graded CylindersIJMER
The present study investigates the creep in a thick-walled composite cylinders made
up of aluminum/aluminum alloy matrix and reinforced with silicon carbide particles. The distribution
of SiCp is assumed to be either uniform or decreasing linearly from the inner to the outer radius of
the cylinder. The creep behavior of the cylinder has been described by threshold stress based creep
law with a stress exponent of 5. The composite cylinders are subjected to internal pressure which is
applied gradually and steady state condition of stress is assumed. The creep parameters required to
be used in creep law, are extracted by conducting regression analysis on the available experimental
results. The mathematical models have been developed to describe steady state creep in the composite
cylinder by using von-Mises criterion. Regression analysis is used to obtain the creep parameters
required in the study. The basic equilibrium equation of the cylinder and other constitutive equations
have been solved to obtain creep stresses in the cylinder. The effect of varying particle size, particle
content and temperature on the stresses in the composite cylinder has been analyzed. The study
revealed that the stress distributions in the cylinder do not vary significantly for various combinations
of particle size, particle content and operating temperature except for slight variation observed for
varying particle content. Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) emerged and led to the development
of superior heat resistant materials.

Application of Parabolic Trough Collectorfor Reduction of Pressure Drop in Oi...IJMER
Pipelines are the least expensive and most effective method for the oil transportation.
Due to high viscosity of crude oil, the pressure drop and pumping power requirements are very high.
So it is necessary to bring down the viscosity of crude oil. Heated pipelines are used reduce the oil
viscosity by increasing the oil temperature. Electrical heating and direct flame heating are the common
method used for heating the oil pipeline. In this work, a new application of Parabolic Trough Collector
in the field of oil pipeline transport is introduced for reducing pressure drop in oil pipelines. Oil
pipeline is heated by applying concentrated solar radiation on the pipe surface using a Parabolic
Trough Collector in which the oil pipeline acts as the absorber pipe. 3-D steady state analysis is
carried out on a heated oil pipeline using commercial CFD software package ANSYS Fluent 14.5. In
this work an effort is made to investigate the effect of concentrated solar radiation for reducing
pressure drop in the oil pipeline. The results from the numerical analysis shows that the pressure drop
in oil pipeline is get reduced by heating the pipe line using concentrated solar radiation. From this
work, the application of PTC in oil pipeline transportation is justified.

https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

ABSTRACT: In this paper a Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is used for power quality improvement on transmission
side for the voltage regulation, grid stabilization and efficient utilization. The DVR normally installed between the source
voltage and critical or sensitive load. The vital role of DVR depends on the efficiency of the control technique involved in
switching circuit of the inverter. The DVR is controlled by using PI with fuzzy logic controller. The Fuzzy logic controller
based on fuzzy logic provides a means of converting a linguistic control strategy based on expert knowledge into automatic
control strategy. This paper presents a Digital validation conducted for different cases of fault conditions using the Mat
lab/Simulink/Sim-Power software environment with the Dynamic Voltage Restorer scheme with fuzzy controller for effective
voltage compensation, in rush current conditions and transmission line loss reduction.

I. INTRODUCTION
The various power quality problems are due to the increasing use of non linear and power electronic loads.
Harmonics and voltage distortion occur due to these loads. The power quality problems can cause malfunctioning of
Sensitive equipments, protection and relay system [1]. These problems include a variety of electrical disturbances, which
may originate in several ways and have different effects on various kinds of sensitive loads. As a result of this
vulnerability, increasing numbers of industrial and commercial facilities are trying to protect themselves by investing in
more sophisticate equipment to improve power quality [2]. Voltage magnitude is one of the major factors that determine the
quality of power supply. Loads at distribution level are usually subject to frequent voltage sags due to various reasons.
Voltage sags are highly undesirable for some sensitive loads, especially in high-tech industries. It is a challenging task to
correct the voltage sag so that the desired load voltage magnitude can be maintained during the voltage disturbances. The
effect of voltage sag can be very expensive for the customer because it may lead to production downtime and damage.
Voltage sag can be mitigated by voltage and power injections into the distribution system using power electronics based
devices, which are also known as custom power device. Different approaches have been proposed to limit the cost causes by
voltage sag. One approach to address the voltage sag problem is dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). It can be used to correct
the voltage sag at distribution level [3].
Distribution system is mainly affected by voltage sag and Swell power quality issue. Short circuits, lightning
strokes, faults and inrush currents are the causes of voltage sags. Start/stop of heavy loads, badly dimensioned power
sources, badly regulated transformers, single line to ground fault on the system lead to voltage swells. Voltage sag is a
decrease of the normal voltage level between 10 and 90% of the nominal rms voltage at the power frequency, for durations
of 0.5 cycle to 1 minute. Voltage swells are momentary increase of the voltage, at the power frequency, outside the normal
tolerances, with duration of more than one cycle and typically less than a few seconds [4]. The Dynamic Voltage Restorer
(DVR) are now becoming more established in industry to mitigate the impact of voltage disturbances on sensitive loads
[5].The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a device that detects the sag or swell and connects a voltage source in series
with the supply voltage in such a way that the load voltage is kept inside the established tolerance limits [6].Other than
voltage sags and swells compensation, DVR also has added other features like: line voltage harmonics compensation,
reduction of transients in voltage and fault current limitations.
This paper explores design and analysis of a novel Dynamic Voltage Restorer along with fuzzy controller (mamdani
rule base) for efficient stabilization and utilization. Fuzzy inference systems have been successfully applied in fields such as
automatic control, data classification, decision analysis, expert systems, and computer vision [7], [8]. Because of its
multidisciplinary nature, fuzzy inference systems are associated with a number of names, such as fuzzy-rule-based systems,
fuzzy expert systems, and fuzzy logic controllers [9]. The Mamdani rule base is a crisp model of a system, i.e. it takes crisp
inputs and produces crisp outputs. It does this with the use of user-defined fuzzy rules on user-defined fuzzy variables. The
idea behind using a Mamdani rule base to model crisp system behavior is that the rules for many Systems can be easily
described by humans in terms of fuzzy variables. Thus we can effectively model a complex non-linear system, with
common-sense rules on fuzzy variables [10], [11]. The proposed scheme proved success in improving the power quality,
enhancing power factor, reduce transmission losses and limit transient over voltage and inrush current conditions. The paper
is organized in seven sections. Section II deals with the Dynamic Voltage Restorer. Section III Proposed DVR with fuzzy
controller with mat lab models. Section IV presents the Digital simulation results when different faults occur, Section VI
concludes the work.

II. DYNAMIC VOLTAGE RESTORER
A DVR is a solid state based p o w e r electronics switching device consisting of either MOSFET or IGBT, a capacitor
bank as an energy storage device and injection transformers. It is linked in series between a distribution system and a load
that shown in Figure.1. The basic idea of the DVR is to inject a controlled voltage generated by a forced commuted converter
in a series to the bus voltage by means of an injecting transformer.
A DC to AC inverter regulates this voltage by sinusoidal PWM technique. All through normal operating condition,
the DVR injects only a small voltage to compensate for the voltage drop of the injection transformer and device losses.
However, when voltage sag occurs in the distribution system, the DVR control system calculates and synthesizes the voltage
required to preserve output voltage to the load by injecting a controlled voltage with a certain magnitude and phase
angle into the distribution system to the critical load [12].

Discrete PI Controller shown in Fig.2 is a feedback controller which drives the plant to be controlled with a
weighted sum of the error and the integral of that value. The proportional response can be adjusted by multiplying the error
by constant KP, called proportional gain. The contribution from integral term is proportional to both the magnitude of error
and duration of error. The error is first multiplied by the integral gain, Ki and then was integrated to give an
accumulated offset that have been corrected previously.[13]

measuring the error between the dq- voltage and the reference values. The d-reference is set to rated voltage
whilst q reference is set to zero. The dq components of load voltage are compared with the reference values and
the error signal is then entering to PI controller. Two PI controller block are used for error signal-d and error signal-q
separately. For error signal-d, KP is set to 40 and Ki is set to 100 whilst for error signal-q, KP is set to 30 and Ki is
set to 150 respectively. All the gains selected use to tune up the error signal d and q so that the signal is stable
and well responses to system disturbances. The outputs of the PI controller then are transformed back into Vabc
before forwarded to PWM generator. B. Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC)
Fig. 4: Basic configuration of FL controller
Unlike Boolean logic, fuzzy logic allows states (membership values) between 0 or 1. Its major features are
the use of linguistic variables rather than numerical variables. Linguistic variables, defined as variables whose
values are sentences in a natural language (such as small and big), may be represented by fuzzy sets [14]. The
general structure of an FLC is represented in Fig.4 and comprises four principal components:
• a fuzzyfication interface which converts input data
into suitable linguistic values;
• a knowledge base which consists of a data base with the necessary linguistic definitions and control rule set;
• a decision making logic which, simulating a human decision process, infers the fuzzy control action from the
knowledge of the control rules and the linguistic variable definitions; and
• a defuzzyfication interface which yields a nonfuzzy control action from an inferred fuzzy control
action.
In this paper, two FL controller block are used for error signal-d and error signal-q as shown in Fig.3. The
process also same as before except the controller now is Fuzzy Logic. For both blocks (error signal-d and q)
the FL controller consists of three linguistic variables from input which is; Negative (N), Zero (Z) and Positive (P).
Each parameter from linguistic variables for error signal is shown in Fig.5.

For delta error, there are three linguistic variables, Negative (N), Zero (Z) and Positive (P). Both variables
can be depicted as in Fig.6.

IV. SIMULATION RESULTS
In order to understand the performance of the DVR along with control, a simple distribution network as
shown in Fig.11 is implemented. There are different fault conditions like normal system, single line to ground fault,
double line to ground fault, three phase fault and voltage sag simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
PI with fuzzy logic controller is used for the control purpose. The DVR system connected to the distribution
system using a booster transformer.

V. CONCLUSION
This project thesis examined the problems of power quality in the distribution systems and the need for the
mitigation of these problems using the effective and efficient power quality equipment. The Voltage sag was created in a
sampler power system by a three phase symmetrical fault in Simulink and a prototype of Dynamic Voltage Restorer was
constructed in Simulink. The corresponding Injected voltage was generated for the appropriate Sag voltage occurred in the
line.
Finally DVR model can able to mitigate the voltage sag dynamically without any change in the parameters of the
internal system and the corresponding compensating voltage is also generated in the distribution system. The simulations
carried out showed that the DVR provides relatively better voltage regulation capabilities. There are some limitations; those
are the voltage limit, power limit, and energy limit.
