You must develop a manufacturing plan to machine the part to the final dimensions. The company is a small company of about 30 workers currently.

You will design 1 tensile test bar using the following diagram

Material Cost
The raw material will be a material you specify. It will come as 1 diameter bar stock at a length you specify
Labor Cost
The labor cost for your plant is $15 per hour for all employees, except maintenance personnel, which cost $22 per hour.
Volume
Your manufacturing facility must provide 200,000 of the tensile test specimens
The equipment will be a stand alone cell or line. No other parts will flow though this area at this time.
Operational Plan
The facility is scheduled to operate 250 days per year and run two 8 ½ hour shifts per day. The workers must be given 30 minutes for lunch and two 15-minute breaks. The product life cycle is expected to be 5 years or more.

Reports must be written using a word processor and spreadsheet when appropriate. All drawings must be completed using CAD.

Terminology Weighting Procedure : Internal System procedures that are applied to existing meter reading results ,period consumption/demand values for determining expected values for extrapolation/proration. Weighing Key : User Defined weighting keys are allocated to predefined weighting procedures. Used in Operands and Register Groups Weighing Unit : Is ia fixed Value. The periods for the distribution of weighting units are always indicated by the month or day and is year independent Ex. Weighting Unit for the month of Jan = 200 Weighting Units for the whole Year = 1000 Weighting Portion (%)for the month of Jan = (Weighting Porting of Jan/ Weighting Units for whole Year)*100 = (200/1000)*100 = 20% Period Length of Portion : defines the interval for billing the associated contracts. Defined in Portion Minimum portion in Percent : This is multiplied by the period length to determine the period for which the meter reading results should be available for the system to extrapolate based on existing meter reading results. Base Period Category : This is present in the Installation. This helps to control whether to extrapolate the expected values based on the previous period or the previous year.

Determination whether a Period is Representative For determining whether a Period is representative : Minimum portion in percent * Length of meter reading period = Minimum length of base period Or Weighing Portion of Period = Minimum Portion Lets say the Minimum Portion is 30% The Period length for Meter Reading is 365 days. So the Minimum length of base period = 30% of 365 = 109.5 days So if the period between the two MR is less than 109.5 days then the Period is not representative. If the weighing portion for the period between the two MR is less than the Minimum Portion then also the period is not representative. When the period is not representative ,extrapolation is based on the periodic consumption rather than on Meter Reading results.
