Qin Shi Huang Case Study
Qin Shi Huang was the first Emperor of China from 221 207 B.C. He was the founder of the Qin
dynasty. During his rule he ordered the construction of the Great Wall which was designed and built
to protect against invasions. Even though the Great Wall seems like a massive building project, and
is considered one of the Ancient Wonders of the World, the mausoleum he had built was far more
detailed than the Great Wall.
In March of 1974 located approximately 20 miles east of the Chinese city of Xi an, local farmers
were digging a well in a field. They stumbled upon a large pit which led to the discovery of over
6,000 life size terra cotta statues. After researching they learned that the site they had discovered
was the burial place of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, and excavations began almost immediately.
The Emperor survived 3 separate assassination attempts, and was constantly looking for a way to
live forever. In his attempts to find a forever life, he regularly sent groups of men and women out
to sea to search for and explore a land where people lived forever. Eventually he gave in to the
realization that he would more than likely not live forever. Having understood this, he ordered that
an elaborate tomb be built. Thinking that if he had to die, he wanted his afterlife to be comfortable
and lavish. The mausoleum he had built turned out to be the largest burial ground in the world, the
army of 6,000 life sized terra cotta soldiers they discovered surrounding it were

Essay on Ethics of Earnings Management
I enjoyed the conversation on GAAP and earnings management relating to the case Be Careful
What You Wish For: From the Middle . The conversation was brief, but got me thinking on the
ethics of earnings management. GAAP accounting is to reflect in good faith the company s actual
financial status and present reality as is. It is not to present a manipulated set of numbers that paint
a pretty picture. GAAPrequires recording of revenue when there is persuasive evidence of an
arrangement, assurance of collectability, a fixed or determinable price, and delivery. If Sarah
recognizes revenue before delivery, she would violate GAAP and partake in channel stuffing. It
would not be earnings management. In my opinion, there is a fine line... Show more content on

Although her actions would not violate GAAP, it would allow revenue to be manipulated to
paint a pretty picture for third party users. I feel earnings management is saying, I know what
the ending needs to be. What can I do to achieve this end? What loophole exists? Ultimately, if
there is intent to deceive, I believe earnings management is unethical. The case Is This My
Place?...Speaking UP has been the hardest for me. I have found it difficult to decide what I
would do if I were in Ben s situation. I know it is wrong for donors to inflate the value of their
donations, but I would be afraid to say anything out of fear they might stop donating to the
organization. Knowing my manager was aware of the overstated donations and did not care
would make matters worse. Unless I had a clear plan to present to him, I would remain quiet. If
donations stopped, individuals in need of medical supplies would suffer. In weighing the options, I
see the pros and cons of each side. By letting donors continue to overstate donation amounts, donors
remain happy, the organization continues to receive donations, and those in need benefit. On the
other hand, if someone does not put a stop to the overstatements, they could continue indefinitely
and grow bigger over time. Additionally, if the IRS were to find out, the not for profit s reputation
would be tainted and donors

Julius Caesar s Weaknesses
All humans struggle with a constant contradiction with their personality traits. Every person has
vast areas of strengths and weaknesses. Shakespeare explores this in his play, The Tragedy of
Julius Caesar by displaying various strengths and weaknesses in the characters. One character
though is presented as a god like figure to the Roman people. Julius Caesaris seen as an almighty
general, who defeated the great Pompey. For this, the Roman people rejoice in him. Although
Caesar seems to be almost godlike in his actions and demeanor, Julius Caesar s personality traits
hinder him in his goals. Ultimately his strengths, his love for the poor and his great military skills,
are undermined by his weaknesses. Caesar has three vital flaws that lead... Show more content on

When Caesar is first introduced, he displays this ignorance when he calls the soothsayer a
dreamer (JC. 1. 2.). Caesar also brushes aside Artemidorus s attempt to warn him about the
conspirators. When Artemidorus offer s Caesar the letter of caution, Caesar responds by calling
him mad (JC. 1. 2.) and proceeds to the Senate. This ignorance shows incredible weakness,
because Caesar refuses to acknowledge that he could ever be in danger. If he were to read
Artemidorus s letter, or listened to Calpurnia, the whole course of Roman history would have
changed. But because Caesar chooses to ignore these signs of warning, he is lead to his

Intrinsic Motivation is the Disire o be Successful
Intrinsic motivation is very important to me as a student who always makes the motivation
intrinsic as my morale as a student and as a employees.
Motivation is the driving force to the will and desire to be successful or to achieve something.
Motivation can also be said as to the success of a stimulus or stimuli to avoid failure. People with
motivation means he has acquired the strength to excel in life either in the world or the hereafter or
both.
Motivation comes from the English word which means enthusiastic motivation. Motivation is
something that any (or none) in the self and the mind that will determine success or failure in any

Students who are more inclined toward intrinsic motivation like a challenging job. They have an
incentive to work for the benefit of personal satisfaction from taking care teacher for getting good
grades. They prefer to try solve the problem on its own rather than relying on the help or guidance
of a teacher. They also adopted a system of mastery goals and standards of evaluation that allows
them to make an independent assessment of the success or failure in the classroom without relying
on teachers for information or evaluation.
According to Deci (1975), intrinsic motivation can be described as a psychological condition
caused when individuals consider themselves capable and able to decide things by themselves. A
person suffering from high intrinsic motivation should be able to do something favored as
driving a car, visiting places is preferred, choose accommodation and choose the desired food. If
he is given a gift such as a visit to the places designated by the organizing body, the
accommodation and food types are determined by the parties, he did not get a chance to decide
everything on your own. Therefore, intrinsic motivation becomes too low.

When Things Fall Apart By Janice Mirikitani
I do not trust people who don t love themselves and yet tell me, I love you. There is an African
saying which is: Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt. This is a quote by Mayra
Angelou that it clearly explains that, having kindness for yourself is the most important thing for
people. Having kindness for yourself it s the first step that everyone should take. SuicideNote by
Janice Mirikitani talks about a girl who committed suicide just because she didn t have kindness
for herself. I choose to compare the reading by Mirikitani with chapter number five It s Never Too
Late of the book When Things Fall Apartby Pema Chodron because this chapter talks about how
people should start having kindness for themselves. This is a part of the book that Asian American

The Rebellion Of The Romanov Dynasty
O n March 2nd 1917, the rule of a 300 year old dynasty was laid to rest as Tsar Nicholas II signed
his warrant for abdication, officially sanctioning the end of the Romanov Dynasty. The immediate
cause permitting this action was the success of the February Revolution however; this event
evolved because of several internal and external factors, both long and short term in nature.
Predominant among all we recognise the perpetuation of an outdated system of rule, the
repercussions of rapid industrialisation, emerging doctrines of liberalism, political inflexibility
and the vices imposed by the First World War. These factors progressively embellished societal
discontent among the Russian people and inexorably stimulated the insurrection of the February
Revolution. The means by which Nicholas II sought to rule as Tsar as well as his intrinsic
characteristics played a significant role in the occurrence of Revolution in 1917. Nicholas was
conservative by nature. His insufficient leadership tuition, brought about by his unexpected
ascendance to power in 1894, forced his unwavering reliance on the systems established by his
predecessors. Nicholas was a man of weak fortitude, his poor decisions and miscalculations
throughout his reign owe much to his personality. I pity the Tsar. I pity Russia. He is a poor and
unhappy sovereign...He is obviously a good and quite intelligent man, but he lacks will power, and
it is from that character that his state defects developed, that is, his

I Am A Great Or Horrible Thing
Flooding, depending on how one deals with it, can be a great or awful thing. The day after
Houston s historic flood started with gloomy gray skies, horrendous humidity, and me sitting on
the couch staring blankly at the T.V. The ecstatic voices of each advertisement after
advertisement filled my ears. This was supposed to be a day of excitement and fun but it seemed
as if the rain had destroyed those plans. I was leaving to New York for the summer and wouldn t
see my friends for months. Sick and tired of sitting down half the day, I called them up to see if
they had any idea of what we could do to spend this last day together. They came up with an idea
to make the most out of an otherwise terrible day. In no time they showed up, I was taken away in
a car headed towards the bayou.
When we arrived, the water was raging against the banks inching closer and closer to the
roadside. The trees were halfway underwater, not a single living creature in sight, and the sun was
hidden behind a blanket of menacing clouds. As we unmounted the long blue canoes from the
truck, we examined what we were about to do. Our examination didn t take long since we were
teenagers we simply said screw it and decided to jump in the river. Taking turns each of us jumped
in the canoe and canoed up and down the river. Since it was his canoes, Grayson, a short dark

Debate Lawyer Research Paper
Three Reasons You May Need to Consult with a Probate Attorney as an Executor of Your Parent s
Estate
If you have been named the executor of your parent s estate and their has been a death, you may
think that the process of probate is straight forward, so there is no reason to involve a probate
attorney. But there are several reasons why this is not a good idea. The following are only a few
of the significant reasons you should consider speaking with a probate lawyer.
You have siblings who expect a certain inheritance
This can be a big problem if your parent s estate was not divided up equally between the children.
It is not uncommon for a man or woman to leave different portions of his or her wealth to different
children. If these children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Qualified experts will be needed to place an appraisal on the worth of the asset. A probate attorney
can advise you on how best to go about the sale of an entire business or a share of ownership, so
there is less of a chance of a problem developing over the proceeds.
Your parent s estate is worth less than the outstanding debts
In this case, the state where your parent resided likely has rules as to which creditor gets paid
first and how much. An attorney will know exactly how this is done, so legal assistance is the
only route to take. Also, you need to consider taxes as well. If your parent s estate owes taxes,
these will need to be paid first. After this, if the estate is still worth less than the total outstanding
debt, you need a probate lawyer.
Keep in mind that much of the probate process is governed by state law, so the specific advice
for your situation will relate directly to the particular rules of the state. In some states there is a
simple probate process, but this is only for estates that do not involve any of the above situations.
If you have any questions about the probate process, you can always consult with an attorney to
simply get information that you need. After this, you can decide if you need the services of a probate

Research Paper On Beshparmak
The meal that I am going to source is Beshparmak, which, according to my Food Journal, I had on
the 31st of January at my aunt s house. The Beshparmak is a traditional Kazakh cuisine, which is
usually served at any kind of celebration. The direct translation of word Beshparmak means five
fingers , because the dish is traditionally eaten barehanded.
The main components of the meal are noodles, meat, sauce (onion and broth), and some optional
ingredients like potato. The meat is slowly cooked for approximately 2.5 hours, so that it would

My family members prefer local livestock from ancestral aul/villages to imported ones. For
instance, our family has a livestock in the home village of my grandparents, where horses, cows
and lambs are taken care by the local bigger farmers as part of their stock, while monthly
payment is given to those farmers for their service. However, the possibility of having personal
livestock rather than buying from supermarkets from big industrial companies is costly, since not
everyone can allow themselves to maintain livestock in the country side. In the villages, animals
are freely grazing or given hay, while horses are able to tebenevat , which means that they are
capable of finding food under the snow during the winter season. The fact that animals are kept in
good environmental conditions, and are fed by natural resources, contributes to the quality of the
meat. Since my family maintains some private livestock, from which horse served in Beshparmak

My Philosophy Statement Essay
My Philosophy Statement
In this philosophy statement you will not be reading the statement of a great philosophical mind,
but of an education student who loves to work with kids and who tries to have the students best
interest in mind. comparing and contrasting my views with the views of many of the philosophical
giants throughout history I will discuss five topics: 1.) the nature of students, 2.) the nature of
knowledge, 3.) the purpose of public education, 4.) the method of education, 5.) and the curriculum
that should be used in public schools.
Taking off on the topic of the nature of human beings we need to look back at our own childhood
and try to remember our actions, if not our thoughts. Pragmatist/Progressivists ... Show more

I also agree with the pragmatist/progressivists about the area of evolving knowledge. Throughout
our lives, and especially in our younger years, we develop different changes and experiences. For
instance, after sent to stand in the corner for the tenth time Billy finally realized that the action of
talking back to his mother had consequences.
My third topic, the purpose of education, has several areas in it that I am going to discuss, the first
being the general importance of education. Spring outlined many goals for education. The
prevention of teenage pregnancies, prevention of drug abuse, and the prevention of the spread of
sexually transmitted diseases were among the many goals. To achieve these goals I agree with the
pragmatist/progressivists that believe that we need to teach kids how to think and not what to
think. By teaching kids how to think we will allow them to see the consequences of their actions
and let them make the decision of whether they can handle the consequences or not. Today kids are
taught what to think and not how to think so they rebel to get out from under the control of their
authorities not seeing the consequences. For this reason education is very important, because it
allows students the opportunity to make educated and well founded judgments and decisions that
they may not have been able to make otherwise.
Continuing on with my third topic, I hope to accomplish several goals as a

On 26 June, one day after 90,000 North Korean troops, armed with Soviet weapons, crossed the

Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning
The purpose of history is to understand the past so that we can take wisdom from those
experiences and improve the present and the future. The events that occurred during the Final
Solution are so horrendous that often it is viewed as so repugnant that we label the people
involved as purely evil, they are dehumanized. This is dangerous, as it doesn t allow us to obtain
wisdom, perspective, and empathy for those involved. Ordinary Men allows an opportunity to see
these events from the eyes of the perpetrators and their journey that led to what seems to people
today as ruthless, unscrupulous murder. When in fact these people were literally ordinary men who
were introduced to unordinary circumstances which caused them to abandon their humanity. If we
discredit these people as inhuman we fail to learn the lessons of human nature so we can avoid
them in the future. Winston Churchill embodies the lessons learned from Ordinary Men as he said
Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The massacrein Jozefow was first to
introduce the men of Battalion 101 to mass murder. The orders were that males of working age
were to be sent Lublin to serve as work Jews, while the women, children and the elderly were to be
exterminated by gunshot immediately. Major Wilhelm Trapp, the battle commander, found these
orders repulsive and one of his officers having learned about the upcoming massacre asked to be

Disease Classification Structures
Disease Classification Structures
Health care information systems cover a wide range of issues dealing with the supervision and use
of biomedical information. Health information systems are central support tools in the
administration of health care services. An acceptable health information system is important not
only for evaluating the health needs of populations but also for preparation and for application of
health interventions. It is equally imperative in the assessment of programs. The goal of
information systems is to create an appropriate working environment. This is done by providing
initial and going training, allocating resources, and by managing unintended consequences (Wager,
Lee Glaser, 2009).

Death certificates are also pulled to determine the cause of death and monitor diseases that could
change and affect more populations. The data is pulled to analyze epidemiology and provide control
of diseases across the world.
Any negative aspects of your selection
Every system in healthcare has its positive and negative traits. Though there are few disadvantages
to the classification of diseases, understanding them is of importance. New diseases are being
found yearly to even monthly, and every several years the classification of diseases needs to be
updated, which can cause changes to the past and current classification. Once the system has been
changed, and it is important that there is proper communication of the change so this classification
of system remains understandable and useful. Categories for past census may be different from
past categories, so these changes will also make it hard to compare past and current census.
Conclusion
Disease classification information structures are very important for the health care community. The
ICD is used to monitor health care disease and categorize the disease in a format that is universal
to all health care organizations. The ICD has provided a system to assist in the reimbursement
process for health care organizations. The ICD is also important to monitor diseases and prevent the
spread of infection. The ICD information structure has provided a standard that

Character Analysis of Susan Glaspell s A Jury of Her Peers
Mrs. Martha Hale is an apologetic, dutiful, and rational character who serves as a defense to
justify Mrs. Wright s murderous crime. Mrs. Hale as featured in A Jury of Her Peers Written by
Susan Glaspell has the storyline of a mother who has intense apologetic regret over allowing her
life to push things aside, of being a dutiful homemaker, and of unseen rationalprocessing to the truth
of the crime.
Martha is mixed with regret in an apologetic manner for the lack of social outreach. Her first

Minnie s kitchen. She seemed to act like it was a direct insult to her own skills. She made the

This implied that even though the kitchen was not perfect, it wasn t just the woman s fault for the

being interrupted in the middle of her kitchen (pg 188) made Mrs. Hale extremely uneasy in

The Debate About Hierarchy And Equality Within Marriage
The debate about hierarchy and equality within marriage is a topic that has reverberated through
the centuries as theologians, societies, and couples try to flesh out the roles of man and woman in
marriage. Various hermeneutical lenses and theologians have looked at Scripture to create different
assertions about who holds the authority and if there is a disparity in spousal equality. Within John
Paul II s Theology of Body the hermeneutic he employs to read Scripture, especially Genesis and
Ephesians, which announces spousal equality. Through this paper, it will be argued that John Paul
II believes there is an equality of authority within marriagebecause marriage is reciprocal and
communitarian with the basis of Christian pietas (ToB, 89:1).
In John Paul II s Wednesday General Audience on August 11, 1982 (#89) he enumerated the
reciprocal nature of marriage in which he established equal authority within this union. Ephesians
51 33 was the basis for his view because this passage details how spousal equality is based on the
call for each spouse to be subject to one another in the fear of Christ (Eph. 5:21). The use of this
passage, which is usually associated with subordination, shows the reciprocal and the communal

The Punic Wars In Ancient Rome
Rome was a small city that was founded at around 754 B.C.E in central Italy. In the 3rd century,
had to deal with some people that included the Confederations of Celtic tribes. To the south of
Rome was a trading center that was owned by the Carthaginians. There were trading ports and
settlements all over the central and western Mediterranean. The growing and regional powers in
Sicily by the Carthaginian worlds caused the clash between them and Rome. There were three
major wars called the Punic wars. There was an unsuccessful march of Hannibal over the Alps
whose aim was to invade Italy. The Greeks and Roman affairs were quite tough. The Romans
adopted some of the Greek culture. In the east, Rome actively interacted with the Hellenistic

The Great Depression And The Dust Bowl
The New Deal
In the year following the Roaring 20s, the United States had a major economic crisis along with the
Dust Bowl that affected many of the american people, but if Franklin D. Roosevelt had not saved
the economy with the New Deal, the economy would have never truly recovered.
The Great Depression and The Dust Bowl
The Great Depression was the longest economic recession in the history of the United States. The
recession started in the summer of 1929 when stock prices began to rise and also when there was a
maldistribution of wealth. Consumers were receiving too little money to spend to keep up with the
pace of the growing markets. There were also many other issues that also contributed to the Great
Depression, there was a lack of diversification because many people over invested in automobiles
and construction.
On the 29th of October the stock market crashed which became to be known as Black Tuesday .
On this day 16 million shares were traded after a wave of panic swept Wall Street. All of the
investors that had bought stocks with borrowed money were wiped out completely. After this
catastrophic day there was a massive downturn in factories and business. Many employers started
firing off their employees, those that were lucky enough to stick with their jobs were getting really
low wages. Many americans started buying stuff on credit, they later fell into debt. This Depression
caused unemployment to rise to 25% by 1933. The Great Depression was not the only thing

The Quiet American
Fallujah s End
Sunday 20th April 2004 Afghanistan.
It has not always been like this. There was once peace in this land, though peace is now naught
but a faded memory. When I first came here, i only saw the smiles of the kids in the streets just
kicking a ball or running around. Now what I see is half broken roads with half or completely
destroyed buildings with possibly invisible bombs around the roads. Instead of travelling around
this city in a taxi, I have to travel in a goddamn Humvee. 6 years ago it was, when I first landed
here in a plane, being forced to come here to negotiate with the government of Afghanistan with that
of mine, USA that is.

It was only 7 o clock. I took a cold shower, since the time I have been here in this country; I have
only taken 2 hot showers. Sure, at first it was the worst thing to do during a day, now its normal,
suited to my lifestyle.
By the chattering and shouting I heard in the morning, seems as though Chris hadn t come back
last night. That had settled my plan for today as I planned to go search the city to find him. Even
though he was different, narrow minded and wanted different things, he was still my friend in a
way, I think...
Chris s special ops team had tried to search for him all day, but still no clue as to where he would
be. As for me I had been going in around the buildings and saw one of the most horrible sights,
which I could never forget. Literally, an army of dead bodies situated in the middle of the road. If
I had remembered correctly, this had been the route I had taken to come to the air base. These
bodies were not here before. This must have happened last night. Unconsciously, I had started to
suspect Chris of being responsible for something like this.
It was close to midnight, I had searched for Chris all day. It seemed as though he s completely
disappeared. Obviously the search team would have searched this city inside out by now.
Suddenly, I had heard a loud voice, as if they had been screaming at the top of their lungs.
Hey!

Digital Media And Its Impact On Society
Morozov states this subject is about economics and logistics. He claims we confuse the intended
uses of technology with the actual uses. Cyber utopians truly believe in the power of the web to
change societies for the better. People believe that if all persons can get online, and have enough
connectivity, through collaboration they can get what they want, and democracy is inevitable. His
argument is that this ideation disregards political, cultural, and sociological elements, and paints a
precise deterministic picture of the role technology plays. A myth is that authoritarian leaders fear
technology like the internet, when in fact they are actively using and allowing its use. The
younger generations, having not been subject to brainwashing and by using digital media in all
aspects of their lives are assumed to have a healthier chance of a revolution or democracy.
Allowing people to blog, etc., has given these leaders the opportunity to connect themselves with
the people in their countries revealing what they are thinking and saying, which aids in cutting
down on corruption but then again also is used as censorship. When offensive subjects about a
culture or leader are discovered, these blogs or sites are quickly removed. Iran reportedly is
actively searching online through Facebook, etc., for protestors. Posting photos of the perpetrators
singles them out and identifies them. These drastic measures taken by leaders are an excellent way
to discourage democracy.

Misandry Jane Eyre
Men are sexist creatures who deserve every cruel act they ve inflicted on women for centuries.
So say the radical feminists of the 21rst century who follow misandry, which is the hatred of
men. Charlotte Bronte stood for the opposite as she believed in equality for all. She was against
the public view that only men were allowed to be in the political and public spheres of society
while women didn t even own themselves. In spite of the efforts produced by the feminists of the
19th century, misandry has created a border between the feminists beliefs and and values.

Speech For Graduation Speech
Graduation Speech What is the secret to success? Many people think that you can rely on only
on yourself to be accomplished in this life time. However, there are many strategies to utilize on
the road to success and the concept of a self made man has a common misconception. Arnold
Schwarzenegger shattered this idea of the self made man as he presented his speech to the
graduating class of Houston University in the spring of 2017. The crowd was powerfully moved
by the words that flowed from Arnold s mouth. Arnold successfully establishes credibility,
demonstrates emotion, and uses logic to motivate this graduating class. Throughout this speech
Arnolds exceeds in these three categories tremendously. The accomplished actor, body builder,
and the former governor of California sheds just a little bit of light from his ray of success to the

university down to the family and parents that are in attendance in the crowd. Arnold talks about
how if you reflect on his life and every accomplishment he has under his belt it would be easy to

Private Property In The Communist Manifesto By Karl Marx
When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they
call me a communist (CГўmara). In 1847, a group known most publicly as the Communist League
met in London. This group commissioned a man by the name of Karl Marx to write a manifesto on
their behalf, soon known as the Communist Manifesto. Marx was a German philosopher,
economist, and sociologist that took his opportunity in writing this manifesto to attempt to explain
the primary goals of communism, as well as define a theory underlying the movement. Marx wanted
to argue the issues of class struggles, exploitation of people, and the process by which a revolution
could occur to better the current system. Marx s theories state specifically that the... Show more

The theory of the abolition of private property for the betterment of society is one that is vastly
misinterpreted and hotly contested by governmental theorists to this day. Marx had a rather
simple explanation for the issues surrounding it though. He had an extreme problem with the
ways in which private property was not acquired for oneself by oneself, and instead, was being
given to the minority of people that held the most power, having a great deal to do with the class
system at the time. The existence of classes and, correspondingly, the disappearance of classes in
a socialist society, in Marx s formulations are tied to social conditions in which legal title to
property ownership is in the hands of a minority of individuals (Giddens). Marx felt as though
the primary gauge of wealth within society was becoming the amount of property any given
person owned, and therefore, the majority of society s wealth existed within the minority s
hands. The activist side of Marx knew that this proposition was one that would not be taken well
within his society simply because it was threatening to attack an entire group of elitist people
that relied heavily on private property as the source of their power. Marx stated, You are horrified
at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society private property is
already done away with for nine tenths of the population (The Communist Manifesto, Pg. 225).
Marx suffered a great deal of criticism and objections to communism simply because the people
with the most power felt threatened by it. Communism s goal was not to keep people from
appropriating the products of hard labor, it was merely to keep them from demeaning and harming
others in the process of that

Nelson Mandela was a South African anti apartheid revolutionary, who fought long and hard for
the freedom of his people. Freedom is seen as a holy grail, a way out of troubles for many
people. Mandela made sure he and his people were able to get away from the discrimination and
violence they experienced. The movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom shows exactly what he
had to go through to reach freedom. Mandela s quest for freedom can be seen as similar to that of
Jimmy Baca s. Both these men were convicted and put in jail for ridiculous accusations. Also both

During Mandela s time the Black people in South Africa were being treated in much the same way
as they are today. In the essay My Views in the Eyes of the Stranger the author quotes that My

torment (My Views in the Eyes of a Stranger). With these quotes she perfectly sums up the
discrimination they go through. Mandela was perfectly aware of this. In the movie it is shown
that Mandela conducts rallies and protests, involving the public into his fight for freedom. The
movie shows him getting angry, and getting the public angry; educating them on what was really

that did not have racism and every person was given the same respect and chance to be

they were forced into poverty, and they were wrongly accused and jailed. This was a driving force

In Cimorene s Father s kingdom women are supposed to be proper and the men have to be

matter if you were female or male to have power. However, in most medieval kingdoms women
did not have that kind of power so living in a Dragon s Kingdom fits someone like Cimorene
much better than where she came from. This is how gender plays a role in Dealing with

Classroom Management In The Classroom
Classroom management is one of the most essential elements of teaching. Classroom management
refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that teachers use to keep students organized,
orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive during a class . Therefore, without
good classroom management the classroom will not be an environment of learning, rather it will be
an environment of chaos. My personal philosophy of educationpulls elements from three different
models assertive discipline, CHAMPS, and capturing kids hearts. The main goal of the assertive
discipline model is to put the teacher in charge of the classroom. However, teachers are also
expected to treat students as their allies in the learning experience. Although there are elements of
assertive discipline that I do not agree with, my idea of discipline in the classroom aligns best with
this model. When using assertive discipline, the teacher decides on the class rules before school
begins. The teacher also has a system of both positive and negative consequences in place.
Additionally, consequences occur in a hierarchy system, known as the discipline hierarchy. The
discipline hierarchy is a system of between 3 6 different consequences that become harsher as a
student continues to misbehave. For a first offense, the student is simply given a warning. If the
student continues to misbehave than the second and third time they are taken out of an activity.

As many would say that Atticus is courageous by striving to do the right thing, others like Jem
and Scout, during the first segment of the book, would see their father as an uncourageous and

criticise Atticus ability to play sports. They constantly complain about his ability to football and
his lawyering skills. They do not appreciate the courage and risk he is taking by defending an
African American and doing the right thing. Perhaps in a child s perspective, courage is seen
when he shoots the dog with a rifle. However, as they later on see that courage can take many

the snow was falling very heavily. As we made our way down the interstate , I noticed something
to the highest degree but before I got to mention it ,we had hydroplaned and flipped three times .
By the grace of God, I m assuming an innocent bystander saw our whiteRolls Royce upside down

The Time Value Of Money Essay
Until Wednesday April 8, 2015 no country had ever offered a ten year bond that gave investors a
yield of less than zero percent. That was until Switzerland offered ten year bonds that lenders are
paying to hold. While many countries like the United States Federal Reserve are preparing to
increase interest rates, the European Central Bankis driving them down. The decreasing interest
rates have forced countries like Switzerland to offer negative yields on their bonds in order to keep
their currency from increasing too far about their Eurozone (European nation) neighbors. However,
this notion challenges the very fundamentals of investing in the bondmarket. Numerous countries
throughout the Eurozone and Europe are also seeing their yields turning negative. Whereas, various
European countries rates have only slightly fallen below zero, others continue to fall deeper into
negative territory. It appears that the time value of money (one of the fundamental cores of
investing) seems to count for very little throughout the European bond market.
Although Switzerland was the first to sell ten year bonds with negative interest rates several other
European countries (both inside and outside the Eurozone) have sold government debt securities
with negative yields. Up until now the highest government debt instrument were five year
maturities.

In the modern world, IT Support is a major factor which is necessary in order to progress and

The provision of IT Support will be impacted by the costs of resources required as the
organisation may not be able to afford to hire staff and hardware required thus having to hire
external IT Support. If the organisation doesn t have either an internal or external IT Support (or
the organisation is large and has a small tech support department), the organisation will not function
properly and may face many issues thus the provision of IT Support will be limited.
Another impact of organisational constraints on the provision of IT Support is the licensing and
cost of software. The internal IT Support will need to purchase software licenses in order to
provide the support to users. Some software licenses for software like fault logging and VNC are
expensive. If the organisation cannot provide funding for the software licenses to be purchased, the
IT Support will need to use alternative methods and this will definitively impact the provision of IT

The Literary Style Of Cavendish s The Blazing World
In the epilogue of The Blazing World, Cavendish puts forth that anyone who does not wish to be
a subject of her world can instead create their own (Cavendish 163), but how does one do this? In
the story, the Empress asserts that in order to create a world one must frame it, strengthen it, and
beautify it (126). The literary world that she creates in The Blazing World itself follows this
system as her use of structured lists, her descriptions of the strength of her society and her use of
poetic techniques in prose each support these ideas. This principal of world creation can be seen not
only throughout The Blazing World, but through her poetryas well. In her poem Of Many Worlds in
This World, Cavendish is able to convey these three rules of world building through both form
and content while creating a whole system of worlds for the reader to imagine. The passage of
The Blazing World that this essay will focus on is a passage in which the Duchess convinces the
Empress to make a world in her mind which the Empress decides not to dissolve. The passage
ends with the Empress desiring to see the Duchess s world and it s government and society. This
passage not only creates a world within the text, a world filled with creatures, laws, arts and
sciences (126), but adds to the greater world of the story that Cavendish creates. In this passage
one can see a bit of how Cavendish creates her world through both the content of the passage and
form. This passage exhibits the framing

Anatomy And Physiology Of Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
Rotator Cuff Tendonitis

Mr. Mejewski
Anatomy and Physiology
Hour 4
What does a gardener, an athlete and a carpenter all have in common? Easy, they all have a higher
risk of acquiring tendinitis in their shoulders, more specifically rotator cuff tendonitis. Shoulders
are a very important component to the body, as they allow you to move your arms in any direction
you choose. Seeing that rotator cuff tendinitis is very frequently diagnosed, I was interested to learn
more about it and what makes it so common. A shoulderis one of the most complex joints of the
body. The anatomy of the shoulder starts where the humerusfits into the scapula almost as if it
were mimicking a ball and socket. The scapula has a little tip of itself overlooking the tendons of
the shoulder called the acromion and a bit of itself fanning out, a part called the coracoid. Also
connected to the scapula is the clavicle or collarbone. Another very important component to the
shoulder is the rotator cuff, this is the most vital part to rotator cuff tendonitis. It is composed of
four muscles and of various tendons that surround the shoulder socket that allow it to connect the
upper arm and the shoulder blade together. Protecting the rotator cuff is is a small sac of fluid
called a bursa. The humerus fits relatively loosely into the shoulder joint. This gives the shoulder a
wide range of motion, but also makes it vulnerable to injury. In macroscopic detail, the shoulder

Americas Colonization
The seeking of power and new lands started all the way back to centuries ago. It was the time
were Empires colonized the Americas establishing their own sets of rules that the Native
Americans in the lands must followed. This Empires cause an enormous effect on this people
because their lives changed completely, in a way that they had to adapt to a new way of living.
However, not all Empires had the same success on the colonization or even the same process of
colonizing these new lands. Spanish and Portuguese established their Empires in the Americas,
creating all new political structure, religious believed, economical changes and social interactions.
Let s begin with explaining the foundation of every nation, this is obvious; politics. Without the
latter content people will have a disorganized, uncivilized, unstructured and violent society. Spain
was considered to be monarchy, since it was ruled by a queen and king during the sixteen and
seventeen centuries. It got so much power and territory that it was considered the largest Empire in
history. Their politics were extremely strict and firm control over their empire (Esler, 2004). It
consisted of a Council of Indies, whose job was to maintain the colonies under control and not
letting them to take power. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

empire to give the independence of the colony of New Hemisphere. Both of this country have the
similarities of being a monarchy even though there weren t rule by the same queen and king. They

Examples Of Honor Culture
A Culture of Honor Throughout the United State and the world, there is a concept known as a
culture of honor. In most society, a culture of honor it is common for people to avoid offending
others intentionally and to maintain a reputation of not accepting improper conduct. This type of
culture can commonly be seen in 4 types of environments: inner cities, frontier lands, southern
United States, and conflict zones. People in these areas tend to take action for themselves since
authority is either not trusted and/or not present. A culture of honor establishes how people handle
conflict and disputes on their own without interference from legal authority. One type of
environment where a culture of honor is present is in the inner city ghettos.... Show more content on

This can include area like the Middle East, South Asia, and other regions. In these areas, legal
authority is often not trusted and weak due to the political unrest in the region. People also take
great offense when someone disgraces their culture and/or religion. An example of this is
known as honor killings. The women of the family or community, whose average age is 23, are
often the main targets for honor killings. These killing normally result from a suspicion that one
is engaging in acts that impinge on the family s and society s conservative views. This can
include partaking in relationships outside of marriage, refusal of an arranged marriage, seeking
divorce, homosexual acts, and being a victim of rape. The victims of honor killings are often
murdered in the name of family honor for bringing shame and disgrace to the family. In many
cases, these killings occur within a family unit between father daughter, husband wife, brother
sister, etc. Since they occur so regularly, most honor killings are not classified as such, are rarely
prosecuted, or when prosecuted in the Muslim world, result in relatively light sentences (Chesler,
2010). Due to the presence of the culture of honor, many societies in the Middle East often turn a
blind eye to the murders honor killings of thousands of women every

He and A Jazz-Age Clerk
In He by Katherine Anne Porter and A Jazz Age Clerk by James Thomas Farrell, two characters
who struggle with the aspects of poverty express the significance of how people view them in their
lives; their primary concern is what people say and think of them. Both characters, Mrs. Whipple
and Jack, seem ashamed of their current lives and continually attempt to impress others. Mrs.
Whipple constantly informs Mr. Whippleof the thoughts or ideas that people might have towards
their simple minded son, whereas Jack characterizes a materialistic and superficial person whose
main goal is to impress others. Furthermore, both characters are extremely proud and overly self
conscious. In He, Porter narrates the already mentioned excessive... Show more content on

Mrs. Whipple clearly becomes uptight about what her own family has to say or think about
Him, to the point where she wishes she were dead: But they can t say He wasn t dressed every
lick as good as Adna oh, honest, sometimes I wish I was dead! (439). Thus, it is evident that Mrs.
Whipple feels stressed and under a lot of pressure with His situation. After all, it is Mrs. Whipple
s goal to make sure that people understand that her family, including Him, is nothing more than
an ordinary family. Sadly, Mrs. Whipple s excessive concern about what others think or say, her
self consciousness, does not allow her to focus on what really is important: her family, but more
specifically, Him. She finally realized that the way she treated her son was wrong; towards the
end, she at last opens her eyes and sees the world from His perspective, the cruel, uncaring, and
lonely perspective:
Whatever it was, Mrs. Whipple couldn t bear to think of it. She began to cry, frightfully, and
wrapped her arms tight around Him. His head rolled on her shoulder: she had loved Him as much
as she possibly could, there were Adna and Emly who had to be thought of too, there was nothing
she could do to make up to Him for His life. Oh, what a mortal pity He was ever born. (444 45)

May, 4th, 2014 Career Project
Section 1: Job Description/Duties
The role of a financial planner is to help groups or individuals with the use of their investments,
income, taxes, or savings. This includes helping people with their immediate or long term financial
goals such as a small investment or retirement. This job comes with immense responsibility because
a financial planner is entrusted with another person s money, and just one wrong investment could
lead to the loss of a client. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Working in an office setting is not very appealing to me, which is okay because financial planners
have the option to work independently at home. However, this requires a great deal of time and
effort because this would mean having to start marketing your services and would have to build a
strong customer base.
Section 5: Wages and benefits The average salary for a financial planner is 50,000 a year which is
great because it will allow me to live the life I want to live. The amount of money a person in this
career can make is zero to over a seven figures. This depends on the level of experience you have
and if you are willing to go above and beyond what the bare minimum. If you work for a firm in
this profession they will provide insurance, sick leave, and a paid vacation depending on the firm,
but an independent financial advisor is not provided with these luxuries services.
Section 6: Employment outlook The employment outlook for a financial planner is supposed to
have a thirty two percent increase in the role over the next ten years. The good thing about this is
that when I get out of college I will be able to find a job for this career fairly easy,

Scientific Revolution Dbq
During the Early Modern Era, Western Europe expands. The Roman Catholic Church went
through many challenges before the Protestant Reformation, which was the beginning of the
many ideas that will emerge in Europe, such as the Renaissance ending thus letting science
escalate. The Renaissance inspired a load of curiosity in many fields, such as science. Claims
and ideas that had been accepted by the world for many of years previous to this point in history
were now being challenged and questioned by Scholars, especially since religious leaders
challenged and questioned accepted ways of thinking with God and salvation in the church during
the Reformation. Collectedly, thus began Scientific Revolution in the 1600 s. The Scientific

The proposition that the sun is in the center of the world and immovable from its place is
absurd, philosophically false, and formally heretical; because it is expressly contrary to Holy
Scriptures, (Source 7). This proves my claim because someone is contextually proving that
Copernicus theories are false, making him seem like an unimportant part, therefore, making a
big chunk of the Revolution weak. As well as The proposition that the earth is not the center of
the world, nor immovable, but that it moves, and also with a diurnal action is also absurd,
philosophically false, and, theologically considered, at least erroneous in faith, (Source 7).
Galileo does not support religion because he is more focused on science. Galileo was going
against the Holy Scripture and religion in general. This supports the connecting of science to
religion negatively. Many people agree that science and religion were the same thing and if one

Eastern Woodland Indians
Europeans often thought Indians on one hand were vicious cannibals, with no social
organization, but on the other hand pictured an Indian society as being orderly, advanced, and
civilized. There are nine famous paintings I had to analyze. The pictures showed Indians were
civilized people. Life among the Eastern Woodland Indians was organized, together, and civilized
in their own way. The economy for the Woodland Indians was organized and everyone had a job.
They were able to adapt to their surroundings. For their religion they believed that every animal or
living thing has a soul. So they would thank the first animal they killed of the year, but the photo

They were very developed. In photograph two we see the Indians working on a canoe or tearing
down a tree, but they don t have axes, they only have fire. So Indians couldn t have been
backwards or undeveloped , if they adapted without axes. To be civilized is to be able to adapt
and to be able to work together as one. Europeans perceive Indians as unmannered and
disgusting. Evidence is in photograph nine, when they are eating off the ground and their food
is laying in the dirt. It might impact two people, because one might be an Indian or have Indian
blood, and the other will think of that one a lowly or think of that person in a bad way. Indians
perceived Europeans as a problem. Indians didn t like their government, they liked their way and
their chief. Indians didn t like the Europeans culture. The Indians thought of it as bad. The Indians
didn t like the Europeans religion either. The Europeans didn t, think all living things had a soul
and they didn t give thanks to their first kill. Indians didn t like Europeans, because they were
trying to control them, take their land. It shaped Europeans and Indians relationship as a bad one.

Spirituality and John Coltrane Essay
Spirituality and John Coltrane
After being fired from Miles Davis s band in 1957 for his chronic use of heroin, John Coltrane was
hurt tremendously. He decided it was time he quit using heroin. He took a month off from music
while he went cold turkey. During this month in the early spring of 1957, Coltrane had a momentous
religious experience (Nisenson, 40). Coltrane asked God to give him the means and privilege to
make others happy through music (Coltrane, 1995, 2). As time went on, Coltrane felt that he was
leading a life that was contradictory to the pledge and away from the esteemed path that he had
made to God (Coltrane, 1995, 2). Starting with A Love Supreme (recorded in December, 1964),
Coltrane stuck to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Coltrane was starting to get introduced to the greats of jazz like Miles Davis and Charlie Parker,
he started drinking heavily. Then, probably in 1953, he started doing heroin (Thomas, 52). By
1957, he had played with Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, and twice with Miles Davis. Davis,
a recovering heroin addict himself, said of Coltrane during this time that he d be playing in
clothes that looked like he had slept in them for days . . . and when he wasn t nodding, [he d be]
picking his nose and sometimes eating it (Davis, 212). Once, while on stage with Davis, Coltrane
nodded out, and Davis punched him in the stomach. Eventually, Davis would kick him out of his
band for the second time.
While Coltrane was kicking his habit in early 1957, he was touched by God. How this came
about was known only to Coltrane. But the transformation in him resulted in some of the most
powerful music of the twentieth century. In late 1957, he started working on what was to be
known as sheets of sound, a style in which Coltrane would play every note in chord as fast as he
could, while starting and ending in different notes in a specific key. That year, he released his first
acclaimed album on the Blue Note label, Blue Train, which was a record of jazz standards.
Miles Davis loved the new Coltrane, and hired him back into his band for a third time. Davis came
up with a new jazz concept, modal improvisation.

The Sport Of Soccer And Football
Today, there are many popular sport which involved players getting injured during the game. The
most talked about sport of all time are soccer and football. They are the number one sport in the
world. They are both loved by people around the world and everybody enjoy every minute of
watching the player play the sports. The problem is that the playeralways seem to get injured from
this sport but the cause of their injured are different from each other. Between soccer and football,
the most common injuries are knee and ankle injured. Soccer playersoften get injured more often
than football players, whenever they are on the field. In between this two sport, it seems like
someone always get injured whenever the event is held.
First, the cause of the injured between soccer and football different from each other. Both the
soccer and football player would twist their ankle and hurt their knee during the game. For
soccer players, the cause of their injured are running and kicking the ball all over the field and
sometimes twist their ankle while running. Sometimes for soccer players while they have the
ball the other team would sly kick the ball and miss; but when that person missed, the sly kick
would hit the other player knee or ankle and it would result in the other person getting injured.
However for football players, the only way to get injured is they would have to be tackle down by
other players; if they want to get injured. Their chance of getting injured are very low

How important has nationalism been in shaping our modern world? Do you believe that the appeal
of nationalism will diminish in the future?
Nationalism has been extremely important and influential in shaping the modern world we see
today, causing revolutions, rebellions and the constant reshaping of world maps continuing even
today. Its appeal is something that I don t believe will diminish in the future. Many theologians
and political commentators alike agree that Nationalism has perhaps been one of the most
prominent political ideologies of the modern world No single political doctrine has played a more

Modernist philosophers agree that modernism is only possible in a developed industrial society,
where a strong economy provides a strong backbone for the nation s development, there is a
presence of a centralized authority and the nation is connected through a single common language
in which everyone can communicate with each other4. Although not known as a nationalist, the
father of communism Karl Marx described nationalism has being the transformation from
feudalism to capitalism, and saw nationalism as nothing more than a trend which would soon
pass5. However this was not the case, the industrial revolution stirred up patriotic sentiments
throughout Europe, especially Germany, France and Great Britain, which lead to an arms race
powered by industry, this played a major role in the lead up into WWI. Modernism continues to
shape the modern world even today, a form of modernism much like the one seen during the
industrial revolution can be seen in places such as India and China, who are currently experiencing
their own version of the industrial revolution. It can also be seen in the middle east where political
movements such as the Muslim brotherhood have stepped into power in places such as Egypt after
a revolt against the former dictator President Mubarak in 2011, which occurred

  • 2. Qin Shi Huang Case Study Qin Shi Huang was the first Emperor of China from 221 207 B.C. He was the founder of the Qin dynasty. During his rule he ordered the construction of the Great Wall which was designed and built to protect against invasions. Even though the Great Wall seems like a massive building project, and is considered one of the Ancient Wonders of the World, the mausoleum he had built was far more detailed than the Great Wall. In March of 1974 located approximately 20 miles east of the Chinese city of Xi an, local farmers were digging a well in a field. They stumbled upon a large pit which led to the discovery of over 6,000 life size terra cotta statues. After researching they learned that the site they had discovered was the burial place of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, and excavations began almost immediately. The Emperor survived 3 separate assassination attempts, and was constantly looking for a way to live forever. In his attempts to find a forever life, he regularly sent groups of men and women out to sea to search for and explore a land where people lived forever. Eventually he gave in to the realization that he would more than likely not live forever. Having understood this, he ordered that an elaborate tomb be built. Thinking that if he had to die, he wanted his afterlife to be comfortable and lavish. The mausoleum he had built turned out to be the largest burial ground in the world, the army of 6,000 life sized terra cotta soldiers they discovered surrounding it were ... • 3. Essay on Ethics of Earnings Management I enjoyed the conversation on GAAP and earnings management relating to the case Be Careful What You Wish For: From the Middle . The conversation was brief, but got me thinking on the ethics of earnings management. GAAP accounting is to reflect in good faith the company s actual financial status and present reality as is. It is not to present a manipulated set of numbers that paint a pretty picture. GAAPrequires recording of revenue when there is persuasive evidence of an arrangement, assurance of collectability, a fixed or determinable price, and delivery. If Sarah recognizes revenue before delivery, she would violate GAAP and partake in channel stuffing. It would not be earnings management. In my opinion, there is a fine line... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although her actions would not violate GAAP, it would allow revenue to be manipulated to paint a pretty picture for third party users. I feel earnings management is saying, I know what the ending needs to be. What can I do to achieve this end? What loophole exists? Ultimately, if there is intent to deceive, I believe earnings management is unethical. The case Is This My Place?...Speaking UP has been the hardest for me. I have found it difficult to decide what I would do if I were in Ben s situation. I know it is wrong for donors to inflate the value of their donations, but I would be afraid to say anything out of fear they might stop donating to the organization. Knowing my manager was aware of the overstated donations and did not care would make matters worse. Unless I had a clear plan to present to him, I would remain quiet. If donations stopped, individuals in need of medical supplies would suffer. In weighing the options, I see the pros and cons of each side. By letting donors continue to overstate donation amounts, donors remain happy, the organization continues to receive donations, and those in need benefit. On the other hand, if someone does not put a stop to the overstatements, they could continue indefinitely and grow bigger over time. Additionally, if the IRS were to find out, the not for profit s reputation would be tainted and donors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Julius Caesar s Weaknesses All humans struggle with a constant contradiction with their personality traits. Every person has vast areas of strengths and weaknesses. Shakespeare explores this in his play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by displaying various strengths and weaknesses in the characters. One character though is presented as a god like figure to the Roman people. Julius Caesaris seen as an almighty general, who defeated the great Pompey. For this, the Roman people rejoice in him. Although Caesar seems to be almost godlike in his actions and demeanor, Julius Caesar s personality traits hinder him in his goals. Ultimately his strengths, his love for the poor and his great military skills, are undermined by his weaknesses. Caesar has three vital flaws that lead... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Caesar is first introduced, he displays this ignorance when he calls the soothsayer a dreamer (JC. 1. 2.). Caesar also brushes aside Artemidorus s attempt to warn him about the conspirators. When Artemidorus offer s Caesar the letter of caution, Caesar responds by calling him mad (JC. 1. 2.) and proceeds to the Senate. This ignorance shows incredible weakness, because Caesar refuses to acknowledge that he could ever be in danger. If he were to read Artemidorus s letter, or listened to Calpurnia, the whole course of Roman history would have changed. A person suffering from high intrinsic motivation should be able to do something favored as driving a car, visiting places is preferred, choose accommodation and choose the desired food. • 6. When Things Fall Apart By Janice Mirikitani I do not trust people who don t love themselves and yet tell me, I love you. There is an African saying which is: Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt. This is a quote by Mayra Angelou that it clearly explains that, having kindness for yourself is the most important thing for people. Having kindness for yourself it s the first step that everyone should take. SuicideNote by Janice Mirikitani talks about a girl who committed suicide just because she didn t have kindness for herself. I choose to compare the reading by Mirikitani with chapter number five It s Never Too Late of the book When Things Fall Apartby Pema Chodron because this chapter talks about how people should start having kindness for themselves. • 7. The Rebellion Of The Romanov Dynasty O n March 2nd 1917, the rule of a 300 year old dynasty was laid to rest as Tsar Nicholas II signed his warrant for abdication, officially sanctioning the end of the Romanov Dynasty. The immediate cause permitting this action was the success of the February Revolution however; this event evolved because of several internal and external factors, both long and short term in nature. Predominant among all we recognise the perpetuation of an outdated system of rule, the repercussions of rapid industrialisation, emerging doctrines of liberalism, political inflexibility and the vices imposed by the First World War. These factors progressively embellished societal discontent among the Russian people and inexorably stimulated the insurrection of the February Revolution. The means by which Nicholas II sought to rule as Tsar as well as his intrinsic characteristics played a significant role in the occurrence of Revolution in 1917. Nicholas was conservative by nature. His insufficient leadership tuition, brought about by his unexpected ascendance to power in 1894, forced his unwavering reliance on the systems established by his predecessors. Nicholas was a man of weak fortitude, his poor decisions and miscalculations throughout his reign owe much to his personality. I pity the Tsar. I pity Russia. He is a poor and unhappy sovereign...He is obviously a good and quite intelligent man, but he lacks will power, and it is from that character that his state defects developed, that is, his ... • 8. I Am A Great Or Horrible Thing Flooding, depending on how one deals with it, can be a great or awful thing. The day after Houston s historic flood started with gloomy gray skies, horrendous humidity, and me sitting on the couch staring blankly at the T.V. The ecstatic voices of each advertisement after advertisement filled my ears. This was supposed to be a day of excitement and fun but it seemed as if the rain had destroyed those plans. I was leaving to New York for the summer and wouldn t see my friends for months. Sick and tired of sitting down half the day, I called them up to see if they had any idea of what we could do to spend this last day together. They came up with an idea to make the most out of an otherwise terrible day. In no time they showed up, I was taken away in a car headed towards the bayou. When we arrived, the water was raging against the banks inching closer and closer to the roadside. The trees were halfway underwater, not a single living creature in sight, and the sun was hidden behind a blanket of menacing clouds. As we unmounted the long blue canoes from the truck, we examined what we were about to do. Our examination didn t take long since we were teenagers we simply said screw it and decided to jump in the river. Taking turns each of us jumped in the canoe and canoed up and down the river. Since it was his canoes, Grayson, a short dark bearded guy with an overconfident air and shorts that were way too short, was first to go. His experience with canoes made it seem as if it was ... But there are several reasons why this is not a good idea. The following are only a few of the significant reasons you should consider speaking with a probate lawyer. You have siblings who expect a certain inheritance This can be a big problem if your parent s estate was not divided up equally between the children. It is not uncommon for a man or woman to leave different portions of his or her wealth to different children. If these children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Qualified experts will be needed to place an appraisal on the worth of the asset. A probate attorney can advise you on how best to go about the sale of an entire business or a share of ownership, so there is less of a chance of a problem developing over the proceeds. Your parent s estate is worth less than the outstanding debts In this case, the state where your parent resided likely has rules as to which creditor gets paid first and how much. An attorney will know exactly how this is done, so legal assistance is the only route to take. Also, you need to consider taxes as well. If your parent s estate owes taxes, these will need to be paid first. After this, if the estate is still worth less than the total outstanding debt, you need a probate lawyer. Keep in mind that much of the probate process is governed by state law, so the specific advice for your situation will relate directly to the particular rules of the state. In some states there is a simple probate process, but this is only for estates that do not involve any of the above situations. If you have any questions about the probate process, you can always consult with an attorney to simply get information that you need. The Beshparmak is a traditional Kazakh cuisine, which is usually served at any kind of celebration. The direct translation of word Beshparmak means five fingers , because the dish is traditionally eaten barehanded. The main components of the meal are noodles, meat, sauce (onion and broth), and some optional ingredients like potato. The meat is slowly cooked for approximately 2.5 hours, so that it would not be tough. It is taken from the resulting broth. For instance, our family has a livestock in the home village of my grandparents, where horses, cows and lambs are taken care by the local bigger farmers as part of their stock, while monthly payment is given to those farmers for their service. However, the possibility of having personal livestock rather than buying from supermarkets from big industrial companies is costly, since not everyone can allow themselves to maintain livestock in the country side. In the villages, animals are freely grazing or given hay, while horses are able to tebenevat , which means that they are capable of finding food under the snow during the winter season. Taking off on the topic of the nature of human beings we need to look back at our own childhood and try to remember our actions, if not our thoughts. Pragmatist/Progressivists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I also agree with the pragmatist/progressivists about the area of evolving knowledge. Throughout our lives, and especially in our younger years, we develop different changes and experiences. For instance, after sent to stand in the corner for the tenth time Billy finally realized that the action of talking back to his mother had consequences. My third topic, the purpose of education, has several areas in it that I am going to discuss, the first being the general importance of education. Spring outlined many goals for education. The prevention of teenage pregnancies, prevention of drug abuse, and the prevention of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases were among the many goals. To achieve these goals I agree with the pragmatist/progressivists that believe that we need to teach kids how to think and not what to think. By teaching kids how to think we will allow them to see the consequences of their actions and let them make the decision of whether they can handle the consequences or not. Today kids are taught what to think and not how to think so they rebel to get out from under the control of their authorities not seeing the consequences. For this reason education is very important, because it allows students the opportunity to make educated and well founded judgments and decisions that they may not have been able to make otherwise. Continuing on with my third topic, I hope to accomplish several goals as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning The purpose of history is to understand the past so that we can take wisdom from those experiences and improve the present and the future. The events that occurred during the Final Solution are so horrendous that often it is viewed as so repugnant that we label the people involved as purely evil, they are dehumanized. This is dangerous, as it doesn t allow us to obtain wisdom, perspective, and empathy for those involved. Ordinary Men allows an opportunity to see these events from the eyes of the perpetrators and their journey that led to what seems to people today as ruthless, unscrupulous murder. When in fact these people were literally ordinary men who were introduced to unordinary circumstances which caused them to abandon their humanity. If we discredit these people as inhuman we fail to learn the lessons of human nature so we can avoid them in the future. Winston Churchill embodies the lessons learned from Ordinary Men as he said Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The massacrein Jozefow was first to introduce the men of Battalion 101 to mass murder. The orders were that males of working age were to be sent Lublin to serve as work Jews, while the women, children and the elderly were to be exterminated by gunshot immediately. • 19. The Debate About Hierarchy And Equality Within Marriage The debate about hierarchy and equality within marriage is a topic that has reverberated through the centuries as theologians, societies, and couples try to flesh out the roles of man and woman in marriage. Various hermeneutical lenses and theologians have looked at Scripture to create different assertions about who holds the authority and if there is a disparity in spousal equality. Within John Paul II s Theology of Body the hermeneutic he employs to read Scripture, especially Genesis and Ephesians, which announces spousal equality. Through this paper, it will be argued that John Paul II believes there is an equality of authority within marriagebecause marriage is reciprocal and communitarian with the basis of Christian pietas (ToB, 89:1). In John Paul II s Wednesday General Audience on August 11, 1982 (#89) he enumerated the reciprocal nature of marriage in which he established equal authority within this union. Ephesians 51 33 was the basis for his view because this passage details how spousal equality is based on the call for each spouse to be subject to one another in the fear of Christ (Eph. 5:21). The use of this passage, which is usually associated with subordination, shows the reciprocal and the communal nature of the sacrament based on pietas. Pietas refer to the duty of Christians to respond to the command to fear the Lord and spring from the profound consciousness of the mystery of Christ (ToB, 89:1). Cyber utopians truly believe in the power of the web to change societies for the better. People believe that if all persons can get online, and have enough connectivity, through collaboration they can get what they want, and democracy is inevitable. His argument is that this ideation disregards political, cultural, and sociological elements, and paints a precise deterministic picture of the role technology plays. A myth is that authoritarian leaders fear technology like the internet, when in fact they are actively using and allowing its use. The younger generations, having not been subject to brainwashing and by using digital media in all aspects of their lives are assumed to have a healthier chance of a revolution or democracy. Allowing people to blog, etc., has given these leaders the opportunity to connect themselves with the people in their countries revealing what they are thinking and saying, which aids in cutting down on corruption but then again also is used as censorship. The theory of the abolition of private property for the betterment of society is one that is vastly misinterpreted and hotly contested by governmental theorists to this day. Marx had a rather simple explanation for the issues surrounding it though. He had an extreme problem with the ways in which private property was not acquired for oneself by oneself, and instead, was being given to the minority of people that held the most power, having a great deal to do with the class system at the time. The existence of classes and, correspondingly, the disappearance of classes in a socialist society, in Marx s formulations are tied to social conditions in which legal title to property ownership is in the hands of a minority of individuals (Giddens). Marx felt as though the primary gauge of wealth within society was becoming the amount of property any given person owned, and therefore, the majority of society s wealth existed within the minority s hands. The activist side of Marx knew that this proposition was one that would not be taken well within his society simply because it was threatening to attack an entire group of elitist people that relied heavily on private property as the source of their power. Marx stated, You are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society private property is already done away with for nine tenths of the population (The Communist Manifesto, Pg. 225). • 32. Classroom Management In The Classroom Classroom management is one of the most essential elements of teaching. Classroom management refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that teachers use to keep students organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive during a class . Therefore, without good classroom management the classroom will not be an environment of learning, rather it will be an environment of chaos. My personal philosophy of educationpulls elements from three different models assertive discipline, CHAMPS, and capturing kids hearts. The main goal of the assertive discipline model is to put the teacher in charge of the classroom. However, teachers are also expected to treat students as their allies in the learning experience. Although there are elements of assertive discipline that I do not agree with, my idea of discipline in the classroom aligns best with this model. When using assertive discipline, the teacher decides on the class rules before school begins. The teacher also has a system of both positive and negative consequences in place. Additionally, consequences occur in a hierarchy system, known as the discipline hierarchy. The discipline hierarchy is a system of between 3 6 different consequences that become harsher as a student continues to misbehave. For a first offense, the student is simply given a warning. If the student continues to misbehave than the second and third time they are taken out of an activity. The fourth time the parents are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As many would say that Atticus is courageous by striving to do the right thing, others like Jem and Scout, during the first segment of the book, would see their father as an uncourageous and inactive hero. As children, their view is varied and restricted due to the fact that Scout and Jem criticise Atticus ability to play sports. They constantly complain about his ability to football and his lawyering skills. They do not appreciate the courage and risk he is taking by defending an African American and doing the right thing. Perhaps in a child s perspective, courage is seen when he shoots the dog with a rifle. However, as they later on see that courage can take many forms like Ms. Dubose s morphine addiction and how Atticus takes the leap of faith by choosing to do the right thing and protect Tom Robinson. This resonates with Jem because he sees his father s Lawyering abilities and how he is using the for the good of Maycomb. One can tell that Jem has a lot of hope in him and as if Atticus might actually win the case. However, as realistic and compelling as the evidence might seem, Jem is unaware of the racist adult society of maycomb. That was until Switzerland offered ten year bonds that lenders are paying to hold. While many countries like the United States Federal Reserve are preparing to increase interest rates, the European Central Bankis driving them down. The decreasing interest rates have forced countries like Switzerland to offer negative yields on their bonds in order to keep their currency from increasing too far about their Eurozone (European nation) neighbors. However, this notion challenges the very fundamentals of investing in the bondmarket. Numerous countries throughout the Eurozone and Europe are also seeing their yields turning negative. Whereas, various European countries rates have only slightly fallen below zero, others continue to fall deeper into negative territory. It appears that the time value of money (one of the fundamental cores of investing) seems to count for very little throughout the European bond market. Although Switzerland was the first to sell ten year bonds with negative interest rates several other European countries (both inside and outside the Eurozone) have sold government debt securities with negative yields. • 38. The Literary Style Of Cavendish s The Blazing World In the epilogue of The Blazing World, Cavendish puts forth that anyone who does not wish to be a subject of her world can instead create their own (Cavendish 163), but how does one do this? In the story, the Empress asserts that in order to create a world one must frame it, strengthen it, and beautify it (126). The literary world that she creates in The Blazing World itself follows this system as her use of structured lists, her descriptions of the strength of her society and her use of poetic techniques in prose each support these ideas. This principal of world creation can be seen not only throughout The Blazing World, but through her poetryas well. In her poem Of Many Worlds in This World, Cavendish is able to convey these three rules of world building through both form and content while creating a whole system of worlds for the reader to imagine. The passage of The Blazing World that this essay will focus on is a passage in which the Duchess convinces the Empress to make a world in her mind which the Empress decides not to dissolve. The passage ends with the Empress desiring to see the Duchess s world and it s government and society. This passage not only creates a world within the text, a world filled with creatures, laws, arts and sciences (126), but adds to the greater world of the story that Cavendish creates. In this passage one can see a bit of how Cavendish creates her world through both the content of the passage and form. This passage exhibits the framing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anatomy And Physiology Of Rotator Cuff Tendonitis Rotator Cuff Tendonitis Abby Johnson Mr. Mejewski Anatomy and Physiology Hour 4 What does a gardener, an athlete and a carpenter all have in common? Easy, they all have a higher risk of acquiring tendinitis in their shoulders, more specifically rotator cuff tendonitis. Shoulders are a very important component to the body, as they allow you to move your arms in any direction you choose. Seeing that rotator cuff tendinitis is very frequently diagnosed, I was interested to learn more about it and what makes it so common. A shoulderis one of the most complex joints of the body. The anatomy of the shoulder starts where the humerusfits into the scapula almost as if it were mimicking a ball and socket. The scapula has a little tip of itself overlooking the tendons of the shoulder called the acromion and a bit of itself fanning out, a part called the coracoid. Also connected to the scapula is the clavicle or collarbone. Another very important component to the shoulder is the rotator cuff, this is the most vital part to rotator cuff tendonitis. It is composed of four muscles and of various tendons that surround the shoulder socket that allow it to connect the upper arm and the shoulder blade together. Protecting the rotator cuff is is a small sac of fluid called a bursa. The humerus fits relatively loosely into the shoulder joint. This gives the shoulder a wide range of motion, but also makes it vulnerable to injury. In macroscopic detail, the shoulder looks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
