Resistance to change is what you'll get without a proper change strategy for your collaboration platform. Unlike IT people, business users are not necessarily thrilled about new technology, features and functionalities.
Build it and they will not work. Most employees will need to be motivated differently to start a new way of working.
What are the reasons employees do not simply embrace new technology? And most importantly: how can we bend resistance to change to change readiness? How do we find your Champions and activate them? How do people understand when to use what app? Learn what makes change for technology so difficult and how to motivate your employees.

Tech Tools: The New Ecosystem of Events with Mitch Colleran and Abe AdamsEventbrite
It seems like almost every day there’s a new app or platform promising to help boost engagement or reach new audiences and the task of keeping up with the latest tricks, tools, gadgets, and trends can be daunting, to say the least. We caught up with our very own Mitch Colleran and Target Victory’s Abe Adams to explore the latest event tools, technologies and services that can help you save time, scale your efforts and make event planning (almost!) seamless. From the latest smartphone apps to hardware improvements and open API’s, Mitch and Abe have teamed up to share what technologies the event pros are using to make sure their events go off without a hitch. Let’s take a look!
There's been much talk of DDD, its tactical and strategic approaches to design, its abstract notions. Yet some perceive it as empty words or gold plating, and are at a loss when it comes to its value proposition. This talk brings a unique and practical perspective on what it is like, this experience of building up models, fleshing out designs and growing a common understanding of the various problem domains at play, guided by language, expertise and boundaries.
Keynote given at the Digital Workplace Conferences held in Auckland, New Zealand (May 2017) and Sydney, Australia (August 2017). Conference talk at Plone Conference 2019 in Ferrara, Italy.
A traditional client-to-service provider work relationship is predicated on a hierarchy in which the needs and wishes of the client take precedence over all other considerations. In a rapidly paced work world under the increasing influence of accelerated technological change, such a traditional approach can have detrimental effects on the wellbeing of employees. The question with which service providers today must grapple is: How can we maintain our customer focus and ensure continued customer satisfaction while at the same time protecting the wellbeing of our team members?
The concept of “New Work” offers several suggestions for how to reconcile these seemingly competing needs. New Work encompasses a wealth of theories and methods relating to the organization of work, from self-organization to agility and modern leadership, to new work spaces, among many others. In this talk, we focus on our experience with implementing one such concept.
Telecommuting and distributed working is a growing trend. Gallup says 37% percent of U.S. workers telecommuted in 2015, up from just 9% in 1995. However, most organizations have not adjusted their talent management practices to accommodate (or optimize) distributed teams. Get practical examples for building successful culture, teamwork and engagement across all aspects of HR and across the globe.

22 years: the average age of Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. 22 years of growth frenzy, combined with the upheaval brought about by the Internet to our businesses, our lives and our civilization.
With over 300 billion euros in cumulative revenue, a productivity rate three times the average, and a customer base covering nearly 50% of the connected population, GAFA have become, in less than twenty years, the four superpowers of the new economy. "Search engine","e-commerce", "smartphone","social network" are the common nouns they have added to the of the 21st century dictionary.
But beyond this disruption in our daily habits, GAFA have fundamentally changed the established rules of business strategy: they ignore classic concepts of market, competition, positioning or plain goods. Instead, they have achieved a Copernican revolution that truly places the customer at the center of their strategy.
With our study you will:
- identify the key success factors of these fantastic four,
- understand how to conduct your business strategy in the era of GAFA,
- develop a dashboard to measure and to start thinking about your business the GAFA way, by simply starting from your customers.
“GAFAnomics” will help you see your industry through GAFA's eyes: understand their vision of the world and align this analysis with your strategic actions - at a digital pace.
The "GAFA Framework"
To achieve this, we completed our analysis with a framework, a simplified reading grid of their business models and value creation levers. We are convinced that the best key to your digital transformation is understanding and applying this “GAFA framework".
This framework can be replicated in any industry: in the customer value creation field, every business can compare itself to GAFA. Our framework shows the necessity to organize and grow around the unwavering ambition to make a positive change to the customer’s daily life.
This talk was done during softshake 2014.
Can you give me a definition of the “User Experience”? I don’t! And the Internet neither. User Experience is a really broad domain from analytics to psychology to interface design.
Come to this talk and I’ll present you what is User Experience and what it means for your product. I’ll also give you some tips to help you improve the experience of your software.
Inside you there is a secret product idea...some problem you are just itching to solve. Yet it falls prey to that deadly statement: “Someday, when I have more time...”
In this action-packed 180 minutes, UX Lisbon participants got their ideas out and into the world. Using Lean Startup principles and these fun and rapid methods, they created a coherent, lo-fi product concept and got peer feedback on it. From identifying the problem it solves for people and understanding the role it plays in customers’ lives to identifying a key metric to indicate traction, they explored the idea in full. They wrapped up with practical, actionable (and simple!) next steps to propel the ideas forward.

Nothing changed and everything changed.
The more direct contact brands have with consumers,
the more they need a coherent core identity.
One that translates both into tweets and invoices
in campaigns, and more important, a permanent dialogue.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
