This document discusses digital competence frameworks in higher education. It summarizes the EU Digital Competence Framework (DigComp) and the UK Digital Capabilities Framework (DigCap), noting similarities like the importance of data, creation, communication, and wellbeing, but also differences like DigCap's focus on scholarship and lifelong learning. It then presents a case study of Bournemouth University's digital toolkit, influenced by DigCap, which provides resources for teaching and learning with technology. Next steps discussed are piloting a questionnaire on institutions' use of technology enhanced learning and seeking better understanding of embedding digital skills in higher education.
