Didynamic current is a mixed current that uses low-level galvanic and faradic currents for analgesic and spasmolytic effects. It has five types - DF, MF, CP, LP, and RS - that provide different sensations. Physiological effects include pain relief through the pain gate mechanism and increased local circulation. Indications are for soft tissue injuries and peripheral nerve disorders. Treatment involves gradually increasing intensity for 3 minutes per current type in daily or every other day sessions.
