Dholavira was one of the largest cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization located in modern-day Gujarat, India. The city was occupied from around 2650 BCE to 1450 BCE and featured remarkable city planning and architecture, including a water harvesting system, fortifications, monumental structures, and various types of funerary structures. One of the most significant discoveries at Dholavira was a large signboard from the northern gateway featuring ten distinct symbols of the Indus script, providing evidence that the Indus civilization had developed full literacy.
