This document outlines a process to improve the design schedule process. It identifies problems with the current process such as a loss of productivity, information, and quality. Three causes are listed: an ineffective design schedule process, poor communication methods between stakeholders, and a lack of performance measures. Three solutions are proposed: implementing quality improvement processes and measures, creating a family of measures to track metrics, and developing a communication network to address miscommunication. The expected results are increased quality, greater faculty collaboration, utilizing institutional expertise, and increased accountability.
