Describing A Person Essay Example
Crafting an essay on the topic of describing a person may seem deceptively simple at first
glance, as it involves a seemingly straightforward task – painting a vivid portrait of an
individual. However, delving into the intricacies of this assignment reveals a myriad of
challenges that can make the process quite daunting.
One of the primary hurdles lies in capturing the essence of the person in a way that goes beyond
mere physical attributes. Describing someone involves delving into their character, personality
traits, and the intangible aspects that make them unique. Selecting the right words to convey
these nuances requires a delicate balance between creativity and precision.
Furthermore, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and generic descriptions. Striking a
balance between providing specific details and avoiding overused phrases is crucial to keep the
essay engaging and authentic. It requires a keen observational eye and the ability to transform
ordinary details into compelling insights.
The risk of subjectivity is another factor that adds complexity to the task. As a writer, it's
essential to present a balanced and fair portrayal of the person, steering clear of personal biases
that might cloud the narrative. Objectivity becomes a tightrope walk, demanding a delicate
dance between personal perspectives and a broader, unbiased view.
Moreover, the essay must flow seamlessly, guiding the reader through a coherent and well-
structured narrative. Organizing thoughts and details in a logical sequence while maintaining the
reader's interest requires careful planning and thoughtful execution.
In conclusion, writing an essay on describing a person is a multifaceted endeavor that demands
creativity, observational skills, objectivity, and adept language use. It requires the ability to
navigate the fine line between vivid descriptions and clichГ©s, ensuring that the end result is a
nuanced and engaging portrayal.

instrument to the cause of preserving the integrity of the sport, and aspiring for its
orderly development. It further went on to state that the measures implemented by
the consortium under its pyramid structure were not unconditionally inherent and
proportionate to the achievements of purely sporting objectives. In fact, the CCI
read a strong commercial dimension into the conduct of the board. While some may
argue that this case lacks the balancing of rights perspective that was employed in
the Hockey India judgment, it would also, perhaps, not be altogether misguided to
prefer the Hockey India judgment to have progressed on the lines of the BCCI case.
With a firm recommendation to revamp the core structure of its organisation such
that clashes between its regulatory and organisational powers cease to be a regular
feature, the CCI liberated Hockey India of the charges levelled against it. Directing
the institution of a rationalised and transparent system to supervise the promulgation
of NOCs, the CCI relied on an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The stance of the CCI does appear to be rather implausible, especially as it
dismisses the arguments to the alternative citing the lack of evidence that
effectively corroborates that Hockey India deliberately acted against the players
who wished to participate in the league. Moreover, it is pertinent to note that
within a year of the alleged anti competitive policies being drawn up by Hockey
India, its proposal for a rival league was released. Hence, to absolve the body for
inclusion of commercial aspects in its practices might hardly be the way to proceed.
In addition, while the CoC Agreement did not explicitly enjoin the freedom of
players to participate in the World Series Hockey League, it certainly served as a sheer
Infant Adoption
Adoption is one of the leading choices for women and young girls who have gotten
pregnant and feel that they can not physically emotionally financially and mentally
take care of another human being. In 1851 the adoption world took off with the
launching of the Adoption of Children Act that is still in effect today. With this act
being in effect it gives young girls and families that can not conceive another chance
at a life that they wanted.
However, in 2000 is when the adoption world took a turn for the best. Given the
ability to help children in other countries the Child s Citizenship Act was passed to
help with international adoptions. this gave the families in both foreign countries and
here the gift of a life time.
There are many different types of adoptions and different ways of going about
adoptions. These different types include closed, open, international, infant, fast

Can also be known as an emergency adoption of a child of any age. His form of
adoption is where the state needs immediate placement of the child due to some
circumnutates varying from many things (BBB, 2015)
Infant adoption. There are many eligible adoptive parents looking to adopt infants.
Sadly though, there are less infants than eligible adoptive parents. Most couples can
be put in to a roster for birth parents to choose from. Some birth parents would like
to meet the adoptive parents to make sure they are picking the right one for their
child and some perter not to. The adoptive parents ,when picked and have gone
through all the steps needed, can take the infant straight from the hospital or brought
to them in a hotel room after birth by the counselor (LUND, 2015)
Independent adoption. This form of adoption normally does not have any counselling.
Basically the adoption is set up between the agreement between the birthparents and
adoptive parents without the aid of an adoption agency. This form can also be
considered an open adoption (Thomas Reuters,
Sydney Carton Ambiguity
Tale of Two Cities
Charles Dickens, a meticulous British novelist, imposes ambiguity in the
personalities of Sydney Carton, Madame Defarge, and Ernest Defarge to reveal
the preeminent theme of his novel that people are dynamic. Sydney Carton is an
extremely ambiguous character in The Tale of Two Cites. Sydney Carton
transforms from debauchery to admirable. At first, Carton is a drunkard, and he is
willing to help out C.J. Stryver at any time of day. Carton made Stryver, one of
most respected lawyers in London, a brilliant and popular lawyer. Drinking and
helping Stryver out keeps him from internally beating himself up. Carton feels
worthless and unlovable. Charles stated to Mr. Lorry after his trial, I hardly seem
yet... to belong in this world again (2. 4. 83). Carton is in the dumps and feels no
hope whatsoever. Sydney Carton has nobody to love or care for at this point in the
novel; he selfishly wishes he were imprisoned. Dickens leads us to believe there is no
hope for Carton, but then Lucie comes into the picture. ... Show more content on

Lucie keeps her head high and is always lending a helping hand. Carton admires all
of Lucie s characteristics, so he decides to proclaim his love to her. Dickens is
showing us how a man can change so drastically with Carton. Before Carton met
Lucie, he claimed, I am a disappointed drudge, sir. I care for no man on earth, and
no man on earth cares for me (2.4.70). Lucie has given Carton a reason to live but
not in the way the reader was hoping for. He promises Lucie he will take his own
life to save Lucie s life and every soul she loves. This promise was unexpected from
egotistical Carton. When Darnay is sentenced to death, Carton takes his place,
ultimately saving Darnay s life, and keeping his promise to Lucie. Dickens
convinces the readers that individuals are capable of changing, in Carton s case from
self centered to
Critique Of Research Synthesis Essay
The author maintains that observational centered method of studying is not
accurate, rather interview centered method bears more accurate result of study. The
argument, stated in a dubious way, fails to mentions some key factors and reveals
some instances of poor reasoning, on the basis of which it could be evaluated.
However, in order to fully evaluate this we need to have significant amount of
additional evidences. The argument is much weaker than it seems. First of all, Dr.
Karp s assumption is based on 20 years ago study which might not be true in the
present situation. Over the passage of time, surrounding of the village might have
changed significantly. For example, some westerners had settled on that village and
might have influenced them to change their common trend. Hence, it would certainly
weakened Dr. Karp s assumption. In this case his study could have been correct but
his assumptions on the view of Dr. Fields method would be seriously weakened.
Another piece of evidence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example W why did they say about their parent? Additionally, we also don t about
the responses of the children for that questions. It would completely undermine Dr
Kelps argument if it turned out that the children said how much they miss their
parents or how their parents left them for in communal environment. Therefore, its
impossible to conclude without knowing their true response to the questions. So
without convincing answers, the reader is left with the impressions that the claims
made by the author are more of a wishful thinking rather than substantive evidence.
Clearly, from above discussion, we can conclude that we need more evidence about
surrounding of the village as well as the type of questionnaires asked during the
interview or else the author s argument can t be granted as correct
The Importance Of The Self And Society
Contrary to popular belief, the self and society are not separate entities, they are
dialectic and influence the development of each other. This relationship can be
examined through behavior and interaction of an individual s self with social
reality. The self relates to society through a variety of different sociological theories
including Dramaturgy, Symbolic interactionism, the looking glass self,
phenomenology, and ethnomethodology. All the above argue that society and the
self are shaped through experiences within our everyday lives, and that
communication with other selves is necessary to make up the larger societal
structure. Without the self, society would cease to exist. Socialization is the
process through which the self emerges through social interaction (Gorea, 2017).
The self is not an organic thing that has a specific location whose fundamental fate
is to be born, to mature, and to die, nonetheless, is a dramatic effect arising from a
scene that is presented (Goffman, 1959:252) In other words, the way we are
socialized into society leaves an impression on ourselves, as well as our impression
leaves a lasting effect on society. Through this process of socialization, we learn to
adopt the perspective of others, and act in a manner molded to represent the
expectations of society. As humans, we actively influence our own social
development through our sense of self. We learn about ourselves through
socialization by copying the actions of others, or through

Innovative Sustainable Store Design Proposal 1. Introduction In today s dynamic and
competitive world many retailers have initiated to develop their stores as a brand,
therefore creativity and sustainability can be important organizational resource and a
desirable approach to differentiate from other competitors. The ―store as brand‖
and retail branding is emerging as one of the most important strategic initiatives in the
modern retail industry specially in United States and Europe (Carpenter et al, 2005,
pp.43 53). Better customers experience has become center of attention for the
retailers, which have made retailers to focus on the store design and improving the
retail environment. Consumers perceptions of store image and shopping... Show more

Retailers should spend a great deal of time and money on store environments to
create images that offer them a competitive advantage in a crowded marketplace
(Joyce Lambert, 1996 , pp.24 33). Thus, store needs to improve in this area so that
it can give better environment and experience to the customers in order to
differentiate from the competitors. As per Kerfoot et al (2003, pp.14352) as
furniture being a part of visual merchandising, an attractive furniture has positive
affect on customer s psychology or behavior, which ultimately leads to purchase.

Alexander Weygers Essay
Alexander Weygers, a man born two years before Orville and Wilbur Wright took to
the air, always had a fascination with flight.
My belief was that man had copied the bird under the erroneous impression that the
most obvious way to fly is to copy the bird s flight, he said. To me, it was as
impractical to make a plane like a bird as it would be to make an automobile look like
a horse or a motorcycle like a man.
Weygers first got the idea for his flying machine in 1927 when he was working as a
nautical engineer. The concept was inspired not by a bird, but a dolphin.
It was early one morning at sea when he observed with fascination a dolphin that
appeared to swim effortlessly in front of the ship.
He kept it up for at least 10 minutes, Weygers said. I asked... Show more content on

The dolphin wasn t swimming at all. It was actually riding on a cushion of water.
The ship, as it moved through the ocean, pushed a wave of water ahead of it, and the
dolphin was riding that wave.
The idea of riding a wave lingered in Weygers brain, even as his life went through
an abrupt change. A shattered man after his wife died in childbirth in 1927, his
sorrow deepened when his family was captured by the Japanese.
Desperate the help them, Weygers was told it was nearly impossible to access the
prison camps due to Java s rugged terrain. With this news, the flame for Weygers
flying machine was lit again. World War II was the first all out air war, and there was
a clear need to develop short or vertical take off aircraft.
When he returned to the United States, Weygers joined Marian in Los Angeles, where
he wound up working for Northrop Aviation before moving to Carmel Valley. The
helicopter was just being developed and Weygers was attracted to the project.
Instinctively Weygers realized that helicopters were highly vulnerable. They had
ungainly boxlike shapes and their exposed rotors were clearly a weak
Why Should Lance Armstrong Be Banned
Everyone has heard of Lance Armstrong, famous cyclist who won Tour de France 7
consecutive time in a row. Impressive, right? It would be if hadn t won those
competitions with the help of blood doping and drug use. Lance Armstrong was
stripped of his title and bronze Olympic medal for the illegal athletic gain and his
reputation went to absolute shambles. Steroid use in professional sports is not
allowed and results in consequences, varying by sport; but in the Olympics, as The
Baltimore Sun states, it takes two positive drug tests to be banned for life from
anymore olympic competing. For as long as we can remember, there has been a talk
of steroid use in high stake sports. Whether it be accusations, and pointing fingers, or
that the insanely... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And why wouldn t they do this? I m tired of so called moralists acting outraged that
players could do such a thing. Are you telling me that you wouldn t consider taking
some substance if it potentially made you better? Especially if you were in a
profession where 2.5 million dollars a year is the average salary. In his blog he
describes how he does not blame all of the athletes for risking everything they have
earned to try and make it to the leaderboard in what they do. This supports that
everyone should be allowed to use steroids while in competition because when the
stakes are so high, everyone will always look for any opportunity to be better than
rest, regardless of rules. So in that case, we should take away all the rules and let
everyone do the drugs at their own risk. In relation to put at their own risk, steroids
are surprisingly less dangerous than alcohol. This was seen by Lincoln Allison, In
general, the risk to health from performance enhancing drugs is considerably less
than that from tobacco or alcohol. In his document he mentioned how even though
steroids are allegedly extremely harmful, they are banded unlike more harmful things
like tobacco and
Analysis Of It s A Womans World By Eavan Boland
In It s a Woman s World, Eavan Boland utilizes several literary techniques to reveal
the poem s complex conception of a woman s world. Boland sheds light on the
static nature of a woman s role in society, which sparks their desire to overcome the
societal limitations that is put upon them by men. Through her sarcastic title, use of
personification, and critical tone, Boland is able to expose both genders
stereotypical responsibilities and to convey society s desire to silence women s
outrage against their role in this world.
With the use of quotations, it is clear that Boland uses sarcasm to the words woman s
world, in order to represent just how ironic it is for it to be their world when
women have no say in anything unless a man gives consent. The choice of details
and use of a sarcastic title helps Boland portray her complex insights on the
expectations placed on females in society. Although women are belittled as if they
have no purpose in the world but being a man s wife, their lives are much more
important than what it is made out to be, which is advocated when it states, Our way
of life has hardly changed since a wheel first whetted a knife (1 4). Boland explains
that, though women s rights are much more independent now than before, there are
several aspects that remain the same as to where man is the dominant gender and rule
the world. As wives, sisters, and mothers, however, the strength of women cannot be
ignored when they are the ones making the world go

Riboflavin, otherwise known as B2, is a type of B vitamin that is soluble in water,
which means that it is not stored in the body and therefore needs to be replenished
each day.
Riboflavin works with over B type vitamins to boost body growth, red blood cell
production, and breaking down proteins to release energy. Riboflavin can be found
in many foods, including dairy products like milk and cheese, eggs, green leafy
vegetables like kale, lean meats, organ meats like livers, legumes, and nuts.

Soybean oil is vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of soybeans. Soybean oil is one
of the most biodegradable and eco friendly chemicals commonly used for
commercial purposes. It is one of the most widely used and consumed cooking oils
in the food product industry, and as a drying oil, it can also be used as a chemical
base for printing inks and oil paints. It is also commonly used as a fixative for insect
repellants.
9.Bees Wax
Like soybean oil, Bees Wax is one of the most biodegradable and eco friendly
chemicals commonly used for commercial purposes. Bees wax is a natural wax
produced by honey bees by being formed into scales by eight wax producing glands
in male honey bees which are then discarded in the honey bees hives, forming the
recognizable pentagonal honeycomb foundation. The chemical composition of bees
wax mainly consists of esters of fatty acids and many long chain
Modern Medicine Cancer And Its Effects On Patients,...
Despite modern medicine cancer continues to claim the lives of many people all
over the world. Throughout the years the number has increased slowly for some
types of cancers, while others have seen a drastic increase in the number of new
cases each year. The International Agency for Research estimates that there will be an
increase in the number of cancercases globally to 21.7 million new cancer cases and
13 million cancer deaths (American Cancer Society, 2016). These figures are
alarming and is attributed to factors such as an aging population, smoking, poor diet,
physical inactivity, and fewer childbirths, in economically developing countries.
Similarly, in the United States the numbers are also climbing. Although there are
twenty three types or of cancer sites, the figures for colorectal, lung, breast and
prostate cancers are high in many states. This paper will take a closer look at the
disease, the impact on patients, families, treatment options and the required care.
Staging and Diagnosis
People have been affected by cancer for centuries. However, modern medicine has
made advances in diagnosing and treatment of the disease since it was first
documented over 3000 years ago in ancient Egypt (American Cancer Society, n.d.).
Cancer is the abnormal grow and multiplication of cells. These characteristics often
results in tumors which can be divided into two groups, benign and malignant.
Benign tumors may cause discomfort and in some cases affect normal body

Translation As An Easy Task Essay
Taduttore Traditore
Translation is often portrayed as being an easy task, a simple transfer of words and
sentences from a language to another. Because some people are bilingual or polyglots
it doesn t mean they can be translators. Translation is a very hard and difficult task to
accomplish. In this essay, the focus will be on the maxim Taduttore Traditore (from
the Italian to translate is to betray ), trying to understand and analyse its meanings
and implications. And then, try to consider whether it is or not an accurate statement
regarding translation work.
According to the Bible, before the Tower of Babel, everyone spoke one language. Yet
because mankind decided to build a tower that would reach the Heavens, God
punished his people by making them speak different languages and by splitting them
into different parts of the world. That is when translation begins.
At that time, there was no internet, no computers, no automatic translations nor even
bilingual dictionaries. Nowadays, with the growth of the technologies, access to
nearly every kind of information is possible. The translator s task is facilitated
thanks to the many tools that the new technologies can provide such as MA Tools
like Linguee, Reverso, Word Reference, Bab.la and many more. Although they are
not one hundred percent accurate, they are a great assistance for a translator,
especially for a word by word translation. Yet translated expressions or sentences are
still very hard to deal with for a computer

Team diversity is used in this study to see each of the individuals in how they
operate together in a team or in the same workplace and to see what the individuals
can contribute to the group or team. There are three social trends that govern the
team diversity in the nursing workplace such as females being prominent in the
nursing field, having a slow increase in males in the nursing field and shortage of
nurses in the local clinics, opening the opportunities for other minorities and
immigrants to have a job. The study s methods were to take the 30 nurses and assess
them with questionnaires daily. At least five Registered Nurses had to be assigned to
the morning shift three times a week. The nurses in the morning had a choice to
control what will happen for the rest of the shifts to make a change in the routine, like
a paradigm shift, to see a result if an interpersonal aggression will occur. When it came
to the race, sex, and age those factors did not have any change in the study. Like many
other studies, a demographic information was taken along with the distribution of
questionnaires. The interpersonal aggression was measured by the questionnaire that
touched upon the aggressive behavior that happened during their shift either to them
or to another person. When they had separated the information for the team diversity
there was no significance and their hypothesis only proved partial part of
Jake s Cognitive Theory
The behavioral approach would view the origins of Jake s anxiety as being that of
his enviroment. This approach infers that we can look to the cause of Jake s anxiety
is the stress that has been built on him at school. The objective approach makes it so
that there is no subjective inferences when dealing with psychology; everything that
is contended must be verifiable. The behavioral approach would view the treatment
of Jake s as being the change in enviroment, a less stressful enviroment will help
aliviate the stresses that he is dealing with. Changing the reards and punishments of
Jake s enviroment will ahve a profound affect on Jake s behavior.

The cognitive approach says that Jake s thoughts can have a powerfully negative
affect on the way he behaves and deals with life situations. If he thinks positive;y, he

to the cognitive approach includes getting Jake to change his interpretation of his
situation and the rewards and punishments, in this case the stress that school is
bringing onto him.
Psychologists do not fully depend on behaviorism becuase it focuses too much on
observable factors and completely ignores the mental aspect of behavior which is
incredibly important to the reasons for actions.
Psychologists do not fully depend on the humanistic approach. This is becuase it
depends heavily on the subjective claims of the patient. Another reason this is the
case is that the humanistic approach does not lead to a lot of quantitative data which
makes it difficult to compare data and have verifiable claims.
Psychologists cognitive approach is supported by psychologists. This is because this
approach takes into account the internal processes that affect our behavior and the
external stimili as well and how our behaviors also affect the

Experience shared with other people provided important knowledge that helps
people find their place in the world. The novel, Microserfs by Douglas Coupland
displays these traits by having reader follow the diary of Daniel Underwood as he
starts to wonder if life has more meaning than just working. Firstly, lovehelps a
person understand to improve oneself, that they always have a person to talk too and
that love can make people cherish each other. Secondly, Loss can impact people by
having them deny about the loss, accept the loss and remember the loss. Finally,
friendships help people understand that there is more to life than work, friends are
always there to help that friends can provide a comfortable environment. The
experience people go through with each others helps people to figure out where
they belong. To begin, the experience of love teaches people to always improve

that love can make people cherish others. Starting off, Relationships teaches people to

themselves because Daniel is scared that Karla might get embarrassed to be with
him due to his appearance, so he decides to improve himself to make him more

The Plague Of The Black Plague
The Black Plague is a disease that spread around the world and killed many people.
There are three different types of the plague; Bubonic, Septicemic, and Pneumonic
(Dugdale). The Black Plague effected Europe greatly and effected there way of
life. It came to Europe around the 1300s and had a great impact on society in the
1500s (History). Important parts of the black plague are the different types of the
plague, how they spread, treatments for them, and effects the plague had on Europe
in the 1500s. Within the plague there are three different forms; Bubonic,
Septicemic, and Pneumonic. The symptoms of the plague vary from the different
kinds. Some symptoms that come with all the different kinds are fever, chills,
cough, and buboes a swelling in the lymph gland (Dugdale). Basically the
symptoms are those of a bad flu plus a swelling of the lymph gland. After coming
in contact with the bacteria the signs or symptoms will start to appear in 2 6 days
for Bubonic and Pneumonic. For Septicemic symptoms will appear in 1 6 days
(History). If people had these symptoms with some other symptoms in the time of

Virtual Work
Definition:
Our textbook defines virtual work as, employees use information technology to
perform their jobs away from the traditional physical workplace. The most common
form of virtual work, called telecommuting or teleworking, involves working at home
rather than commuting to the office (McShane Von Glinow, 2010, p. 22).
Summary: In his article, Unilever Moves Employee Telecommutingto a New Level,
Gary M. Stern writes about how most employers today offer telecommuting and
some go beyond that. Unilever is a consumer goods company that in 2010 launched a
program titled Agile Working that allows its employees to telecommute anytime
anywhere. With a 30% participation rate, employees are encouraged to work as long

Research has shown that supervisors and managers will automatically recall these
employees that are in the office positively. However, those who telecommute or do
other virtual work away from the office don t get this advantage. Adams does
believe it s possible to make this time up and offers some advice for employees
who need to make up face time (Adams 2012). In addition to telecommuting from
home more and more employees are using programs like the company Unilever to
work remotely. In her article, Your Next Office: At Home? Rachel Emma
Silverman describes how 84% of workers who worked remotely...did so at least
once a week, up from 72% in 2008 (Silverman 2012). She writes of how this trend
has truly grown and even expanded into new fields of work. The same advantages
and disadvantages that our textbook writes of are included in this article. But, she
doesn t name employees needing face time and taking heed to some advice to make
some changes on their end. Silverman instead states that management not the virtual
working employees should be the ones leading better outcomes (Silverman 2012).

Senior Leadership Challenges At Ch2m Hill
Senior Leadership Challenges One of the greatest challenges faced by senior
leadership at CH2M HILL was how to effectively engage young engineers in order
to raise their commitment to the company. While the young engineers connected
with many of the company s ideas, such as projects to improve the world, they also
desired novel work which provided challenge and learning to aid them in their career
advancement (Newman, 2013). Learning in this way was hindered by the company.
It did not want to share its talent between business units, therefore reducing the
chance that young engineers could be exposed to and learn new areas. This problem
was intensified by the fact that CH2M HILL had no clear pathway for career
advancement which was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company s decentralized, team based structure is a persistent challenge for senior
leadership. According to Lanaj, Hollenbeck, Ilgen, Barnes, and Harmon (2013), teams
consisting of expert, knowledgeable members who function under a decentralized
management structure are often very flexible, dynamic, and effective. This type of
leadership structure tends to promote participatory decision making, empowerment of
members, increased aspirations, and a sense of team cohesiveness which leads to
increased performance (Lanaj et al., 2013). For many years as a smaller firm, CH2M
HILL was extremely successful using this model with its independent project teams.
However, as the company grew, its lack of effective, centralized management resulted
in a huge system of teams with no true structure holding them together. As Lanaj et al.
(2013) pointed out, multi team systems without a strong, common structure often
experience lack of coordination, process and procedure difficulties, competition
between groups, communication problems, poor knowledge sharing, and an inability
to plan for the organization s future and success. These were precisely the conditions
causing CH2M HILL s problems with turnover and leadership development.

Abstract
An obstetric nurse is one who works with women from the time of puberty through
menopause and also specialize in the delivery of a baby. In the work environment
the days are long, tiring and require lots of standing. Job duties stream from taking
the mother s vital signs to assisting with administration of medications. The education
process is a sequence of steps that concludes with passing the state exam. The
average salary hourly is twenty nine dollars. Characteristics of an obstetric nurse is to
be compassionate and a team player. Exploring these points illustrates for others how
to become an obstetric nurse.

The Importance Of Body Positivity
Body Positivity: A Weighty Issue For decades, women had been searching for the
epitome of beauty and perfection, even to the point where they ve dedicated all of
their time and money on products to enhance their appearances. The society s
perception of ideal beauty standards make women feel like they have to look a
certain way in order to blend in, or even to simply make one feel better. Many
females feel pressured to achieve the standards of beauty that society presents to
them in their everyday life. Instead of the media instilling the power to take back
what they have stripped away from women in the first place, the media drowns
women in unhealthy beauty standards. The pervasiveness of unrealistic beauty ideals
is a never ending cycle of unattainability and extreme self consciousness in women.
Advertisements in the media bombard women with products associated with beauty,
fashion, and weight reduction. These advertisements float around in magazines, on
the internet, on television, on billboards, endorsed by celebrities, and even on the
radio (Jeon). Because of how easily these images and comparisons are made
available to us, women now consider these bodies normal and have somehow started
to shun anything that contrasts this norm. As these standards become more prevalent
and more persuasive, so do a number of women with low self worth, eating
disorders, and depression (Dittmar). No one desires to speak up about how eating
disorders often go hand in hand with different

Examples Of Existentialism In As You Like It
SHAKESPEAREAN PLAY PHILOSOPHY The play to be reviewed is As You Like
It, written by William Shakespeare. The prevailing philosophy throughout the play is
existentialism. What is existentialism? Existentialism can be defined through its
ontology. Ontology is the study of the nature of reality and is also called the theory
of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be discussed in under concepts of man
and existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that man is not bound by
any antecedent human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It opposed
those deterministic theories (ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and
favoured principle of indeterminism. To be a man is to be undetermined, to be free....

According to Heidegger, man can only reflect his real self to his self. Man cannot
be what he is not. He can be what he is already: his existence. He further says that
humans were temporal beings. It finds itself finite because he was bound in time
and the space he was experiencing. And when man finds itself finite, his existence
would be doomed. But by his free will, he can overcome these threats to his
existence. For Heidegger, on the one hand man is creator of his own experience and
on the other hand, he is subject of his experience. If man accepts the responsibility
for developing his own being then he has true human aspects in his personality. In
the concept of existence, existentialists differentiate the verb to exist from the verb
to live . For them, existence means a full, self conscious, responsible and growing
life. Existentialists divided the concept of existence between authentic existence, and
inauthentic existence. A man can live in an unauthentic existence by being a
member of a group that is absorbed only in things and details of everyday life. But a
man can live in an authentic existence by living through his choices. As quoted from
Marcel, to exist means not just to be present to my own aware ness
Analysis Of The Book Outliers By Malcom Gladwell
I have recently finished reading *Outliers* by Malcom Gladwell and I personally
consider the book to be a piece of idiosyncratic brilliance. As I read chapter after
chapter I have put some thought into the idea of intelligence and what it is that
makes some more successful than others. Though I will have to say that success is
subjective, not only measured by the amount of dollars in a bank account, the
number of assets, or degrees, yet these are measures generally use as indicators of
success given the correlation among them. Gladwell s explanation of what makes an
individual an outlier is sensible to those of us who inquire a comprehensive
explanation of the aforementioned topic of discussion.
*Outliers* begins by discussing the importance of IQ and the concept of
accumulated advantage. What has been found is that IQ is not necessarily a
predictor of success, but surely one must posses a high enough IQ to be successful,
and no this is not a contradiction. This might sound like a paradox but let us dissect
and get to the facts. Studies have shown that IQ is a good predictor of analytical
intelligence and that this kind of intelligence is in part genetic (must experts agree
that heritability dictates about 50% of our analytical intelligence). Gladwell points
that all successful people have a high IQ in common but not all who posses a high
IQ end up being successful (for an example see the study of The Termites of Stanford
University psychologist Lewis Terman). In

In a $35 billion deal, Sprint Nextel prides itself on being able to provide innovative
services and technology to a wide range of consumers, business associates, and
government officials. Although Mr. Forsee has said, This merger positions Sprint
Nextel for greater success than either company could have achieved alone, there are
many obstacles that Sprint Nextel must overcome in order to become the leading cell
phone network provider. First, one must examine the problems with Sprint and
Nextel before the merger.
ANALYSIS OF MERGER
Before the Merger
Before Sprint acquired Nextel, Sprint was ranked as the nation s third largest
wireless company as well as the third leading carrier in long distance service (Sprint
Nextel Deal?, 2004). However, there have been many complaints against the
company. For example, the company has been accused of billing problems,
unauthorized charges, and rude, unhelpful customer service. Moreover, there have
been complaints about coverage service areas and roaming. On the Consumer Affairs
website, Sprint customers have written about their experiences with the company. In
October 2002, a man from Lafayette, LA, expounds upon a time when Sprint s
customer support changed his calling plan to better suit his needs in his current
situation. They had promised to a hold plan for
New Belgium Brewing And Its Effect On Social
Responsibility
New Belgium Brewing or NBB is a brewing company that stands apart from the
competition in many ways. Who would have thought that a brewing company
would be thought as an example of how an ethical and socially responsible
company should be ran? The other part that is a surprise to most is that it is a fairly
small corporation. It is nowhere near the size of a giant like Anheuser Busch. So why
is New Belgium so adamant about being different and a step above the competition?
That is the overall focus of this case study. The main three points that will be
discussed throughout the paper are, what environmental issues does the New
Belgium BrewingCompany work to address, does NBB s focus on social
responsibilityprovide a key competitive advantage, and can the company really be a
socially responsible organization even though it sells alcoholic beverages?
Let us face the fact, the world will not be around forever, but with the right
practices we can keep it around longer. Big companies use big energy, they provide
the public with many services and products, but need more energy to do it. The push
to become more self sufficient and use more renewable energy is stronger than ever.
We are seeing the go green movement taking the US by storm with more and more
companies each year deciding to make the switch. Companies are seeing that the
public is very receptive to companies that are environmentally focused and conscious
about communities. The New Belgium Brewing Company is special
Math Homework
Each one of us has specific talents, that when cultivated correctly, have the potential
to advance society as a whole. This is self evident. Why then, even though education
is compulsory and supposedly equal in America s public school system, is there a
conspicuous education gap between certain communities; especially in the STEM
fields? My hypothesis is that the basis of this issue lies in the teaching method of
most urban public schools, and I am ready to start my own research to find an answer.
I have always had a passion for math. But like so many other inner city students
somewhere along the line I was discouraged from pursuing this passion. Coming from

Why are Apple Products so Popular?
In today s world, Apple s products are highly sought after because they are very
popular for everyone. According to YarowпјЊeditor of The Business InsiderпјЊsaid
that the newest iPhone sold 5 million over the opening weekend (Yarow, 2012).
However, it is difficult to find the reason why Apple s products are so superior
compared with other electronic products in the market. Since Apple s products
come out in our life, it has facilitated our life and brought us huge benefits. For
instance, people do not need to bring their heavy laptops to go to work every day,
because they already have the portable tablet PC iPad. The ascent ... Show more

DigiTimes (2010) demonstrates that the first generation of iPad price was $499,
at that time some tablet PC manufacturers predicted iPad s price is about $1000
and these tablet PC manufacturers originally planned their tablet prices 20% 30%
lower than the iPad. The present the iPad price is only $499, which compels the
tablet PC manufacturer to re evaluate the price strategy. If tablet PC manufacturers
want their product appealing to consumers, they could only adjust the price lower
than the iPad. But the final result shows that it is failed, and now iPad is the fourth
generation, but it still people s first choice for PC tablets. If the iPhone and iPad s
price were more expensive, maybe they would not be so popular; I believe Apple
Company is also aware of this
In short, my conclusion is that the cause of Apple s products being popular depends
on its creative design, unique innovation and the reasonable price. If there were no
Apple s products, I believed the development of electronic products would slow
down at least ten years. Because the market has Apple s products, our life is more
convenient than before. The emergence of Apple s products makes electronic product
market have more competition. No matter what, the direct beneficiaries of the price
war is the consumer. The constantly price war will make commodity prices
approached the cost. Consumers can buy more high quality

Did Angela Davis get it wrong?
As a consequence of slavery and segregation, Angela Y. Davis contends in Blues
Legacies and Black Feminism, her study of the recordings of Billie Holiday and the
blues
vaudevillians Gertrude (Ma) Rainey and Bessie Smith, black social consciousness has
been
overdetermined by race, with too little attention paid to sex and virtually none to
class. Davis, a
professor of something called the history of consciousness at the University of
California,
Santa Cruz, would have a hard time selling such a notion to this country s black poor,
who are
understandably inclined to blame the legacy of white racism for their poverty. But
she s right in
step with the more radical of her academic colleagues, even if her ingrained cultural
nationalism
prevents her from joining them in dismissing race as an arbitrary social construct
with no basis in
anthropology. Race, according to current academic thinking, is a smokescreen that
has drawn
discussion away from the more crucial issue of class.
If this sounds suspiciously like Marxism, it is Marxism gone post modern: a tool for
the
analysis of literary and other texts, not necessarily a call for the exploited masses to
rise. One
of the side effects of this recent trend has been to restore the credibility of certain
black
intellectuals and activists of the 1960 s and 70 s, whose Marxist ideals might
otherwise make
them seem like relics not of their own day but of the 1930 s. Davis made the news in
1969, when
the Regents of the University of California attempted to bar her from teaching at
U.C.L.A.
because she was a member of the Communist Party, and again a year later, when she
briefly
became a fugitive after being accused of supplying the brother of George Jackson
with the
firearms for his one man raid on a Marin County courthouse. (Jonathan Jackson was
killed,
along with three others, in the ensuing shootout. Davis was later apprehended, tried

acquitted.)
Davis s thesis in Blues Legacies and Black Feminism, in a nutshell, is that Ma Rainey

My vision for Miami County is going to involve a lot of change. The first thing I
would want to do the most work and change is the main part of Miami County
which is the area which has the courthouse and the stores beside it. Most buildings
that Miami County has have been there for many years, family owned, and have
never been changed to fit the more modern times. Therefore this where the change
would come in and we would start to redo the buildings and make them more
attractive and bigger. Doing this would take a while and a lot of money but it would
benefit the whole countyin the end by attracting more people to visit miamicounty,
more people visiting means that there will be more money spent to the businesses.

Kokomo has more restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The biggest attraction in my
opinion to Kokomo is the Markland mall which has a variety things to buy there.
What I think we should do is put a mall of our own in Miami County. This would
save people the drive all the out to Kokomo to buy anything, but just a mall is only
going to supply clothes, shoes, and things along that line.
We also need a better grocery store. Kroger is a good place but is not close to Sam s
Club or a Wal Mart s of food and items. How I think we could fit all these stores in is
by getting rid of Save A Lot and all those businesses around in that corner and put in
a mall. The people working in the old shops could now work in the new ones. This
provides a lot of space for many stores in the mall and we could also expand later on.
Grocery store wise need to get Kmart out of Miami County. By getting rid of it we

Gunpowder has changed the world, it is the basis for almost every weapon used in
war from the time it was invented, it has made warfare very different and affected
the way battles were and are fought, it is used as an explosive and has aided in the
development of the modern world by making it easier to move mountains for
development. The compass has spurred travel all around the world by allowing
vessels to sail the sea and plains to fly across oceans, I question if we would have
the global trade we have today if the compass was never invented. Row planting
was a better way to plant, grow and harvest crops and has allowed mankind to farm
more efficiently. Iron and steel smelting has allowed man to build bridges and
structures that allow for easier travel and commerce. All four of these
contributions have influenced the world we live in today and will continue to
influence the future of our planet. As for me, the one invention I can t live without
is the mechanical clock. I have a strong need to know the time and be on time
when I am traveling or have to be somewhere. I can t stand to be late so if the
mechanical clock had never been invented we would have watches or time clocks
today and this could not only put my life in turmoil, it could alter the entire world
as we know it because in some way we all depend on time. References Gill, N.S.

Australopithecus Research Paper
Discovery
Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by
paleoanthropologists Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom
Gray in the Afar Depression in Ethiopia, Africa. The first fossil was found by
Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They returned in 1974
and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single
individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of the
pelvic opening. The fossil samples were argon argon dated by Robert Walter in
1992 and it was determined that she was approximately 3.22 3.18 million years old.
The species itself lived between 3.85 and 2.95 million years ago. This specimen was
named Lucy after the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Characteristics
Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while
females average 3 5 and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic
of Lucy was found in her knee, which indicated that the species walked upright or
was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight to her bipedality. Human s
hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between arms
and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for
humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s
intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis
probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore
limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward,
making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder,
however, provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s
sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and
shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This follows with
bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better
The Impact Of Downsizing On The Corporate World
Executive Summary Since the early 1980s, we have witnessed an era of continual
and dramatic change in the corporate world (Drucker, 1992; Handy, 1994). These
changes have been triggered primarily by global competitive pressures, enhancements
in technology and a demanding customer driven market (Ulrich, 1998; Sparrow,
1998; Herriot and Pemberton, 1995). Workforce reduction and redeployment have
become prominent features of most organisational landscapes to ensure organisations
remain productive and gain competitive advantage. However, business restructuring
comes at a cost, with disruption, changes in contracts, changes in employment
conditions and the potential to influence on going business operations. Havila
Medlin, (2012) claim that when Nissan Australia closed their local car manufacturing
plant in February 1992 their share of the Australian passenger car market fell by 50%
over the following 3 years. Downsizing has strong emotional impact on psychology of
employees; it also influences corporate reputation adversely (Cieri Kramar, 2003).
Therefore it is important that managers plan this action through proper planning so
that the adverse impact can be reduced to minimum possible level. Human resource
researchers and managers have long maintained that the human resource function
plays an important role in firm performance. In fact, most corporate annual reports
boldly state that the firm s people are its most important asset (Havila Medlin, 2012).

Newsworthiness And White-Collar Crime
Newsworthiness and its effect on white collar crime depiction
The underrepresentation of white collar crime in the news media is caused by lack of
newsworthiness elements required by journalists to sell their stories. In 1977,
Chibnall study of newsworthiness has highlighted the eight professional codes that
govern the construction of news stories, these include of immediacy, dramatisation,
personalisation, simplification, titillation, conventionalism, structured access and
novelty (Chibnall 1977, 23; Kidd Hewitt 1995,15). A challenge in the representation
of white collar crime is the newsworthy element of dramatisation. For instance, the
news media s inability to properly create folk devils representation of white collar
criminals is due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, it has been argued that news media is primarily concerned with
reporting on white collar individuals or corporate defendants that readers or
viewers will have heard of, such as celebrities or notable individuals in society
(Jewkes 2004, 49; Levi 2006, 1044; Levi 2009, 60). This concern leads to the focus
of agency in the portrayal of white collar crime, rather than the depiction of the
structural embeddedness of crime within the organisation culture. Moreover, past
study has shown that majority of white collar crime portrayal in the news media has
focused on crimes of individuals and their punishment, in order to minimise the
negative publicity of corporations (Benediktsson 2010, 2202 2203). The news
coverage of white collar crime has been selective (Stephenson Burton 1995, 137), as
seen in the higher coverage of white collar crime stories involving well known
individuals. Therefore, the element of dramatisation is constructed through the ways
individuals are represented in the media, by focusing on the lifestyle and wealth of
the offenders, generated from the crime they
White Circle Tucker
The White Circle is a very interesting story about a boy named Tucker who has a
brother call Anvil. Tucker gets mad at Anvil for eating apples from his apple tree
and Tucker tries to kill Anvil. Anvil gets mad and runs away from Tucker and does
not come back. So, how is the White CIrcle about justice? In the White Circle
Tucker has more power than Anvil because Tucker has his Old Man (father) on his
side and the Old Man hates Anvil but loves Tucker. They don t hate you I lied.
Anyway I don t hate you (Clayton). This sentence that was used in the white circle
shows that Tucker also like Anvil a times and that not everyone hated him. Tucker
also wanted to kill Anvil at times when Anvil was acting bad. In the White Circle
when Tucker was trying to kill Anvil with the fork, Tucker showed that he cared
more about his apple tree than he did about Anvil. Although Tucker comes from a
better family than Anvil, Tucker still can can have an evil mind at times.Tucker
comes from a better family because he uses more proper words, but Anvil comes
from a worse or less educated family because he uses more slang language in his
words. In the story Anvil climbs the apple tree to eat the apples because he was
starving and needed to eat but Hammer was reacted in a really selfish way.... Show

In the story there are thirteen apples on the apple tree and the number thirteen is
considered an unlucky number and can show that something unlucky or bad will
happen just because of the apples. Even the name of the story The White CIrcle is
a symbol of hell or evil and is often used as a satanic symbol. The apple could relate
to Adam and Eve and how the first sin was made and could be used as a sign of
temptation to do something that is
Divergent, By Veronica Roth
Divergent , by Veronica Roth is a compelling adventure/dramatic novel. Published
in 2011, Divergent is one out of a series of three books. It shines a light on Beatrice
Prior s life, and the decisions she makes throughout the story. I thoroughly enjoyed
this novel and ended up reading it twice. Divergent would be a great choice for
someone who enjoys adventurous stories with many plot twists. The main characters
are an important part of the story, as the book revolves around the decisions they
make. Beatrice Prior, better known as Tris, is the main characterof the story. Stuck
between two very difficult decisions, she makes a choice that tears her and her family
apart.

then stands in an area near the faction they decided on. Immediately shocked by her
results from her aptitude test, Tris finds that she is actually Divergent, a faction
shunned out from society for being unpredictable and dangerous. Petrified of losing
reputation, family, and everything she has worked for, she chooses Dauntless as her
faction. In this faction, Tris meets another Divergent concealed as a Dauntless and
they work together. Jeanine Matthews, the despicable leader of the Erudite faction,
uses a serum that forwards every member of the Dauntless faction into a simulation.
This stimulation allows the members to be aware of their surroundings but not able
to control themselves or their actions. The stimulation forces the Dauntless army of
uncontrolled slaves to enter the Abnegation faction, and they proceed to kill all the
members. Jeanine Matthews master plan was to kill every faction and have Erudite
rule the government. As Tris and Four are concealed Divergents, the serum fails to

Differences between Distribution Centers and Warehouses
worker
While distribution centers and warehouses come from the same sector of services, in
storage management. They are actually quite different. With both of them providing
different services within their niche. However for you to fully understand the
differences, you must first know what each of them carry out on a day to day basis.
Warehouses:
Warehouses are buildings or structures which store goods. Normally for retail
purposes. These goods are kept within the warehouse until the retailer in question
needs them, either to stock their shelves or to provide them directly to their
customers. You will find that large retailers such as Argos, own their own
warehouses, while smaller independent retailers tend to go for a third party
experience. This is because for most smaller retailers, the overhead costs of having
their own warehouse is not feasible. However the same can be said for larger retail
chains. For large retail changes it is not feasible to be paying a third party to store
their goods. As they tend to have millions of units of products, which take up a lot of
room.
Warehouses tend to only ship to retailers. Rather than to individual customers, which
makes their job comparatively easier compared to that of a distribution center. As
they can send items in bulk, cutting down costs of individual shipping and wrapping.
It also means that, storing the stock is some what easier for them too. As they only
need to separate the goods into which retailers they belong to.
My Father And Brother
It was late fall in 2009 when I quietly sat on the plane looking after my youngest
brother who was restlessly sitting besides me. We were heading back to my
hometown, Kotzebue, Alaska, for a reason I did not know about. Sitting without
any worry at all, I over heard my mom quietly speaking to a friend in the aisle in
front of us. My mom gravely explained to her that my father and brother are lost in
a bitterly cold and extremely windy snowstorm outside of town. On that frigid
October night, our hearts were colder than ever before. I reflected on the horrible,
life changing situation as I looked out the airplane window into the dark sky. It s
like my eyes were bleeding fear that my heart was feeling, what would I do without
my father and brother around? We finally landed in Kotzebue where our familycame
to greet us with warm hugs. They had so much food and desserts made for when
we got to my Aunty s house. Every one we knew stopped by the house to check on
us and tell us it was going to be okay. At this time, Search and Rescue were already
looking for my father and brother outside the town. They searched and searched for
them and could not find them. My dad said they went caribou hunting and saw a big
herd of caribou that they planned on distracting. So my dad and brother split up with
my uncle to go and distract the caribou. In an instant, a foggy snow stormrolled
through and they could not see town at all. My dad was driving the snow machine in
circles, trying to

Credit Risk Grading is an important tool for credit risk management as it helps a

The Pros And Cons Of Charlie Gordon s Knowledge
Learning about the world is hard enough, but to unlearn it knowing what is being lost
is even harder. Charlie Gordon is a man that learned the world and lost it all. Is
knowledge is good while it can be retained or is ignorance bliss when it can t?
Knowledge is really good, even if it is only for a little while, even if it is retained for
a short period because people know what the world is, even when that knowledgeis
lost, people will retain a certain understandingof the world before they unlearned it.
Some say Knowledge is a wonderful tool in life, but if a man acquires knowledge,
but soon unlearns the knowledge yet understands how the world should be, and then
loses it, ignoranceis bliss so the man does not know how people treat them in bad
ways, and it shall stay that way for his/her benefit. . All people deserve to acquire
Knowledge, so they have the experience of how life should be. Charlie Gordon
acquires knowledge of how the world is and how people treat people who have
mental setbacks. To come from a position where he is made fun of, to know this,
and then back to being treated as a person that has a mental disability, knowing how
he is treated has multiple pros and some cons. To know information, even if that
knowledge hurts you, is useful. Even though it may hurt, is wonderful, because you
get to learn the information. Charlie Gordon learns that his friends are not really
good friends. After becoming smart Charlie realizes his so called friends
Blueprint For Reconstruction
The U.S. Civil War ended with America bruised as the nation needed a path to unify
on all fronts. President Lincoln stood as figure who would begin the task of
restoration and integrate freedom of all people into American society. Reconstruction
would be a difficult problem to achieve, especially with the states of the South
challenging the Emancipation and a nation licking deep wounds. President Lincoln
wanted the nation to heal quickly, and his blueprint for Reconstruction would have
provided the unity that the nation needed for healing an unity. President Lincoln s
first step was to offer the South and all former confederate loyalist a pardon, or

Big Bang Timeline
Timeline of The Big Bang
The broadly accepted theory for the origin and evolution of our universe is the Big
Bang model, which states that the universe began as an incredibly hot, dense point
roughly 13.7 billion years ago before expanding into a large, unexplored cosmos;
home to an unknown amount of planets and systems.
The universe begins with a cataclysm that generates space and time, as well as all
the matter and energy the universe will ever hold. For an incomprehensibly small
fraction of a second, the universe is an infinitely dense, hot fireball. At 10 35 to 10
33 seconds a runaway process called Inflation causes a vast expansion of space filled
with this energy. The inflationary period is stopped only when this energy is
transformed into matter and energy as we know it.
After inflation, one millionth of a second after the Big Bang, the universe continues to
expand but not nearly so quickly. The most basic forces in nature become distinct:
first gravity, then the strong force which holds nuclei of atoms together, followed by
the weak and electromagnetic forces. By the first second, the universe is made up of
fundamental particles and energy: quarks, electrons, photons, neutrinos and less
familiar types. These particles merge together to form protons and neutrons. These
protons and neutrons come together to form the nuclei of simple elements: hydrogen,
helium and lithium. It will take another 300,000 years for electrons to be captured
into orbits around these nuclei
Case Study of Scientific Glass
Scientific Glass, Inc. (SG), founded in 1992, was a midsize player in the industry
that provided specialized glassware for laboratory and research facilities. Enjoying
annual sales of $86 million for 2009 and an above average growth in the industry,
SG faced a constant challenge of competition with both large laboratory equipment
providers and smaller glassware provider. To stay at leading position in such a
highly competitive industry, the company had established its own dedicated direct
sales force along with the attempt to increase customer service levels and improve
customer response times by adding additional warehouses. By the end of 2008, in
addition to the two original warehouses, SG had managed to bring on line six more...

Shipment costs between warehouses were also considered in case of occurrences of
stocking out with a 99% fill rate.
For the eight warehouses option, average annual cost was $3,088.65; for the two
centralized warehouses option, the cost was $2,055.28; for the one centralized
warehouse option, the cost was $3,480.91 and for the outsourcing option, the cost
was $2,678.61.
In the calculation of average inventory levels, a desired service level of 99% and a
review period of 14 days with a lead time of 5 days were used to calculate the safety
stocks and order up to levels for each product under each circumstance. Then the
amounts of overstock units were obtained by calculating the differences between
OULs and average demands, and the overstock inventories were the overstock units
multiplied by the unit cost. The annual average inventory levels were calculated to be
$31,560.75 for the eight warehouses option, $14,120.28 for the two warehouses
option and $9,403.24 for the one centralized warehouse option. As for the outsourcing
option, the responsibility of inventory management would fall upon GL, so that there
would be no inventories for SG.
In the calculation of optimal fill rates, 10% of the gross margin was calculated as
the underage cost and 0.54% of the unit cost was calculated as the overage cost.
However, with the outsourcing option, there were no costs due to loss

An Applied Behavior Analyst Is A Critical Part Of A...
An applied behavior analyst is often a critical part of a student s ability to function
in society. It is often overlooked that everyone works in life based on an applied
behavior analysis of each unique situation. A person would not cuss in a church
nor would a person lead a prayer over the intercom at work, these are examples of
how society has groomed each individual to behave a certain way. Often, however,
when dealing with ABA theories, the focus is to only focus on the positive. A
trained ABA will work with a family and staff on how to focus on natural
consequences, positive first but also the negative outcomes. All students are part
of ABA because society has natural consequences. If a student wants to earn and A
on a spelling test, then they need to do the homework. If the teacher wants to be
paid each week, then they need to show up to work each day. However, there are
also natural negative consequences to behaviors, if you drink and drive then you
will lose your license or if you cheat on a test then you will fail, if a student
plagiarizes a paper then they risk expulsion.
In the provided scenario Andrew is 11 years old with ASD in an inclusive
classroom and is able to perform on grade level but often loses his focus when he is
not able to get the teachers attention. Andrew hits his peers to get attention from the
teacher, he has created a behavior pattern with the teacher that he controls, if he hits
his classmate then he is rewarded with attention, while

Describing A Person Essay Example. How To Write A Descriptive Essay Describing A Person - Coverletterpedia

  • 1. Describing A Person Essay Example Crafting an essay on the topic of describing a person may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as it involves a seemingly straightforward task – painting a vivid portrait of an individual. However, delving into the intricacies of this assignment reveals a myriad of challenges that can make the process quite daunting. One of the primary hurdles lies in capturing the essence of the person in a way that goes beyond mere physical attributes. Describing someone involves delving into their character, personality traits, and the intangible aspects that make them unique. Selecting the right words to convey these nuances requires a delicate balance between creativity and precision. Furthermore, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and generic descriptions. Striking a balance between providing specific details and avoiding overused phrases is crucial to keep the essay engaging and authentic. It requires a keen observational eye and the ability to transform ordinary details into compelling insights. The risk of subjectivity is another factor that adds complexity to the task. As a writer, it's essential to present a balanced and fair portrayal of the person, steering clear of personal biases that might cloud the narrative. Objectivity becomes a tightrope walk, demanding a delicate dance between personal perspectives and a broader, unbiased view. Moreover, the essay must flow seamlessly, guiding the reader through a coherent and well- structured narrative. Organizing thoughts and details in a logical sequence while maintaining the reader's interest requires careful planning and thoughtful execution. In conclusion, writing an essay on describing a person is a multifaceted endeavor that demands creativity, observational skills, objectivity, and adept language use. It requires the ability to navigate the fine line between vivid descriptions and clichГ©s, ensuring that the end result is a nuanced and engaging portrayal. For those seeking assistance in overcoming the challenges associated with such essays, HelpWriting.net offers a range of services. Whether it's refining your ideas, polishing your language, or even providing a fully customized essay on a similar topic, the platform is equipped to cater to diverse writing needs. • 2. Case Study On Hockey India instrument to the cause of preserving the integrity of the sport, and aspiring for its orderly development. It further went on to state that the measures implemented by the consortium under its pyramid structure were not unconditionally inherent and proportionate to the achievements of purely sporting objectives. In fact, the CCI read a strong commercial dimension into the conduct of the board. While some may argue that this case lacks the balancing of rights perspective that was employed in the Hockey India judgment, it would also, perhaps, not be altogether misguided to prefer the Hockey India judgment to have progressed on the lines of the BCCI case. With a firm recommendation to revamp the core structure of its organisation such that clashes between its regulatory and organisational powers cease to be a regular feature, the CCI liberated Hockey India of the charges levelled against it. Directing the institution of a rationalised and transparent system to supervise the promulgation of NOCs, the CCI relied on an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The stance of the CCI does appear to be rather implausible, especially as it dismisses the arguments to the alternative citing the lack of evidence that effectively corroborates that Hockey India deliberately acted against the players who wished to participate in the league. Moreover, it is pertinent to note that within a year of the alleged anti competitive policies being drawn up by Hockey India, its proposal for a rival league was released. Hence, to absolve the body for inclusion of commercial aspects in its practices might hardly be the way to proceed. In addition, while the CoC Agreement did not explicitly enjoin the freedom of players to participate in the World Series Hockey League, it certainly served as a sheer
  • 3. Infant Adoption Adoption is one of the leading choices for women and young girls who have gotten pregnant and feel that they can not physically emotionally financially and mentally take care of another human being. In 1851 the adoption world took off with the launching of the Adoption of Children Act that is still in effect today. With this act being in effect it gives young girls and families that can not conceive another chance at a life that they wanted. However, in 2000 is when the adoption world took a turn for the best. Given the ability to help children in other countries the Child s Citizenship Act was passed to help with international adoptions. this gave the families in both foreign countries and here the gift of a life time. There are many different types of adoptions and different ways of going about adoptions. These different types include closed, open, international, infant, fast adoption, ... There are many eligible adoptive parents looking to adopt infants. Sadly though, there are less infants than eligible adoptive parents. Most couples can be put in to a roster for birth parents to choose from. Some birth parents would like to meet the adoptive parents to make sure they are picking the right one for their child and some perter not to. The adoptive parents ,when picked and have gone through all the steps needed, can take the infant straight from the hospital or brought to them in a hotel room after birth by the counselor (LUND, 2015) Independent adoption. This form of adoption normally does not have any counselling. Basically the adoption is set up between the agreement between the birthparents and adoptive parents without the aid of an adoption agency. This form can also be considered an open adoption (Thomas Reuters,
  • 4. Sydney Carton Ambiguity Tale of Two Cities Charles Dickens, a meticulous British novelist, imposes ambiguity in the personalities of Sydney Carton, Madame Defarge, and Ernest Defarge to reveal the preeminent theme of his novel that people are dynamic. Sydney Carton is an extremely ambiguous character in The Tale of Two Cites. Sydney Carton transforms from debauchery to admirable. At first, Carton is a drunkard, and he is willing to help out C.J. Stryver at any time of day. Carton made Stryver, one of most respected lawyers in London, a brilliant and popular lawyer. Drinking and helping Stryver out keeps him from internally beating himself up. Carton feels worthless and unlovable. Charles stated to Mr. Lorry after his trial, I hardly seem yet... to belong in this world again (2. 4. 83). Carton is in the dumps and feels no hope whatsoever. Sydney Carton has nobody to love or care for at this point in the novel; he selfishly wishes he were imprisoned. Dickens leads us to believe there is no hope for Carton, but then Lucie comes into the picture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lucie keeps her head high and is always lending a helping hand. Carton admires all of Lucie s characteristics, so he decides to proclaim his love to her. Dickens is showing us how a man can change so drastically with Carton. Before Carton met Lucie, he claimed, I am a disappointed drudge, sir. I care for no man on earth, and no man on earth cares for me (2.4.70). Lucie has given Carton a reason to live but not in the way the reader was hoping for. He promises Lucie he will take his own life to save Lucie s life and every soul she loves. This promise was unexpected from egotistical Carton. When Darnay is sentenced to death, Carton takes his place, ultimately saving Darnay s life, and keeping his promise to Lucie. Dickens convinces the readers that individuals are capable of changing, in Carton s case from self centered to
  • 5. Critique Of Research Synthesis Essay The author maintains that observational centered method of studying is not accurate, rather interview centered method bears more accurate result of study. The argument, stated in a dubious way, fails to mentions some key factors and reveals some instances of poor reasoning, on the basis of which it could be evaluated. However, in order to fully evaluate this we need to have significant amount of additional evidences. The argument is much weaker than it seems. First of all, Dr. Karp s assumption is based on 20 years ago study which might not be true in the present situation. Over the passage of time, surrounding of the village might have changed significantly. For example, some westerners had settled on that village and might have influenced them to change their common trend. Hence, it would certainly weakened Dr. Karp s assumption. In this case his study could have been correct but his assumptions on the view of Dr. Fields method would be seriously weakened. Another piece of evidence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example W why did they say about their parent? Additionally, we also don t about the responses of the children for that questions. It would completely undermine Dr Kelps argument if it turned out that the children said how much they miss their parents or how their parents left them for in communal environment. Therefore, its impossible to conclude without knowing their true response to the questions. So without convincing answers, the reader is left with the impressions that the claims made by the author are more of a wishful thinking rather than substantive evidence. Clearly, from above discussion, we can conclude that we need more evidence about surrounding of the village as well as the type of questionnaires asked during the interview or else the author s argument can t be granted as correct
  • 6. The Importance Of The Self And Society Contrary to popular belief, the self and society are not separate entities, they are dialectic and influence the development of each other. This relationship can be examined through behavior and interaction of an individual s self with social reality. The self relates to society through a variety of different sociological theories including Dramaturgy, Symbolic interactionism, the looking glass self, phenomenology, and ethnomethodology. All the above argue that society and the self are shaped through experiences within our everyday lives, and that communication with other selves is necessary to make up the larger societal structure. Without the self, society would cease to exist. Socialization is the process through which the self emerges through social interaction (Gorea, 2017). The self is not an organic thing that has a specific location whose fundamental fate is to be born, to mature, and to die, nonetheless, is a dramatic effect arising from a scene that is presented (Goffman, 1959:252) In other words, the way we are socialized into society leaves an impression on ourselves, as well as our impression leaves a lasting effect on society. Through this process of socialization, we learn to adopt the perspective of others, and act in a manner molded to represent the expectations of society. As humans, we actively influence our own social development through our sense of self. We learn about ourselves through socialization by copying the actions of others, or through

The ―store as brand‖ and retail branding is emerging as one of the most important strategic initiatives in the modern retail industry specially in United States and Europe (Carpenter et al, 2005, pp.43 53). • 9. Alexander Weygers Essay Alexander Weygers, a man born two years before Orville and Wilbur Wright took to the air, always had a fascination with flight. My belief was that man had copied the bird under the erroneous impression that the most obvious way to fly is to copy the bird s flight, he said. To me, it was as impractical to make a plane like a bird as it would be to make an automobile look like a horse or a motorcycle like a man. Weygers first got the idea for his flying machine in 1927 when he was working as a nautical engineer. The concept was inspired not by a bird, but a dolphin. It was early one morning at sea when he observed with fascination a dolphin that appeared to swim effortlessly in front of the ship. He kept it up for at least 10 minutes, Weygers said. I asked... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dolphin wasn t swimming at all. It was actually riding on a cushion of water. The ship, as it moved through the ocean, pushed a wave of water ahead of it, and the dolphin was riding that wave. The idea of riding a wave lingered in Weygers brain, even as his life went through an abrupt change. A shattered man after his wife died in childbirth in 1927, his sorrow deepened when his family was captured by the Japanese. Desperate the help them, Weygers was told it was nearly impossible to access the prison camps due to Java s rugged terrain. With this news, the flame for Weygers flying machine was lit again. World War II was the first all out air war, and there was a clear need to develop short or vertical take off aircraft. When he returned to the United States, Weygers joined Marian in Los Angeles, where he wound up working for Northrop Aviation before moving to Carmel Valley. The helicopter was just being developed and Weygers was attracted to the project. Instinctively Weygers realized that helicopters were highly vulnerable. They had ungainly boxlike shapes and their exposed rotors were clearly a weak

It would be if hadn t won those competitions with the help of blood doping and drug use. Lance Armstrong was stripped of his title and bronze Olympic medal for the illegal athletic gain and his reputation went to absolute shambles. Steroid use in professional sports is not allowed and results in consequences, varying by sport; but in the Olympics, as The Baltimore Sun states, it takes two positive drug tests to be banned for life from anymore olympic competing. Are you telling me that you wouldn t consider taking some substance if it potentially made you better? Especially if you were in a profession where 2.5 million dollars a year is the average salary. In his blog he describes how he does not blame all of the athletes for risking everything they have earned to try and make it to the leaderboard in what they do. This supports that everyone should be allowed to use steroids while in competition because when the stakes are so high, everyone will always look for any opportunity to be better than rest, regardless of rules. So in that case, we should take away all the rules and let everyone do the drugs at their own risk. In relation to put at their own risk, steroids are surprisingly less dangerous than alcohol. This was seen by Lincoln Allison, In general, the risk to health from performance enhancing drugs is considerably less than that from tobacco or alcohol. In his document he mentioned how even though steroids are allegedly extremely harmful, they are banded unlike more harmful things like tobacco and
  • 11. Analysis Of It s A Womans World By Eavan Boland In It s a Woman s World, Eavan Boland utilizes several literary techniques to reveal the poem s complex conception of a woman s world. Boland sheds light on the static nature of a woman s role in society, which sparks their desire to overcome the societal limitations that is put upon them by men. Through her sarcastic title, use of personification, and critical tone, Boland is able to expose both genders stereotypical responsibilities and to convey society s desire to silence women s outrage against their role in this world. With the use of quotations, it is clear that Boland uses sarcasm to the words woman s world, in order to represent just how ironic it is for it to be their world when women have no say in anything unless a man gives consent. The choice of details and use of a sarcastic title helps Boland portray her complex insights on the expectations placed on females in society. Although women are belittled as if they have no purpose in the world but being a man s wife, their lives are much more important than what it is made out to be, which is advocated when it states, Our way of life has hardly changed since a wheel first whetted a knife (1 4). Boland explains that, though women s rights are much more independent now than before, there are several aspects that remain the same as to where man is the dominant gender and rule the world. As wives, sisters, and mothers, however, the strength of women cannot be ignored when they are the ones making the world go

Because some people are bilingual or polyglots it doesn t mean they can be translators. Translation is a very hard and difficult task to accomplish. In this essay, the focus will be on the maxim Taduttore Traditore (from the Italian to translate is to betray ), trying to understand and analyse its meanings and implications. And then, try to consider whether it is or not an accurate statement regarding translation work. According to the Bible, before the Tower of Babel, everyone spoke one language. Yet because mankind decided to build a tower that would reach the Heavens, God punished his people by making them speak different languages and by splitting them into different parts of the world. That is when translation begins. At that time, there was no internet, no computers, no automatic translations nor even bilingual dictionaries. Nowadays, with the growth of the technologies, access to nearly every kind of information is possible. The translator s task is facilitated thanks to the many tools that the new technologies can provide such as MA Tools like Linguee, Reverso, Word Reference, Bab.la and many more. Although they are not one hundred percent accurate, they are a great assistance for a translator, especially for a word by word translation. This type of leadership structure tends to promote participatory decision making, empowerment of members, increased aspirations, and a sense of team cohesiveness which leads to increased performance (Lanaj et al., 2013). For many years as a smaller firm, CH2M HILL was extremely successful using this model with its independent project teams. The prevailing philosophy throughout the play is existentialism. What is existentialism? Existentialism can be defined through its ontology. Ontology is the study of the nature of reality and is also called the theory of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be discussed in under concepts of man and existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that man is not bound by any antecedent human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It opposed those deterministic theories (ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and favoured principle of indeterminism. To be a man is to be undetermined, to be free.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Heidegger, man can only reflect his real self to his self. Man cannot be what he is not. He can be what he is already: his existence. He further says that humans were temporal beings. It finds itself finite because he was bound in time and the space he was experiencing. And when man finds itself finite, his existence would be doomed. But by his free will, he can overcome these threats to his existence. For Heidegger, on the one hand man is creator of his own experience and on the other hand, he is subject of his experience. If man accepts the responsibility for developing his own being then he has true human aspects in his personality. In the concept of existence, existentialists differentiate the verb to exist from the verb to live . For them, existence means a full, self conscious, responsible and growing life. Existentialists divided the concept of existence between authentic existence, and inauthentic existence. A man can live in an unauthentic existence by being a member of a group that is absorbed only in things and details of everyday life. But a man can live in an authentic existence by living through his choices. As quoted from Marcel, to exist means not just to be present to my own aware ness

Though I will have to say that success is subjective, not only measured by the amount of dollars in a bank account, the number of assets, or degrees, yet these are measures generally use as indicators of success given the correlation among them. Gladwell s explanation of what makes an individual an outlier is sensible to those of us who inquire a comprehensive explanation of the aforementioned topic of discussion. *Outliers* begins by discussing the importance of IQ and the concept of accumulated advantage. What has been found is that IQ is not necessarily a predictor of success, but surely one must posses a high enough IQ to be successful, and no this is not a contradiction. This might sound like a paradox but let us dissect and get to the facts. Studies have shown that IQ is a good predictor of analytical intelligence and that this kind of intelligence is in part genetic (must experts agree that heritability dictates about 50% of our analytical intelligence). Gladwell points that all successful people have a high IQ in common but not all who posses a high IQ end up being successful (for an example see the study of The Termites of Stanford University psychologist Lewis Terman). The main three points that will be discussed throughout the paper are, what environmental issues does the New Belgium BrewingCompany work to address, does NBB s focus on social responsibilityprovide a key competitive advantage, and can the company really be a socially responsible organization even though it sells alcoholic beverages? Let us face the fact, the world will not be around forever, but with the right practices we can keep it around longer. Big companies use big energy, they provide the public with many services and products, but need more energy to do it. The push to become more self sufficient and use more renewable energy is stronger than ever. We are seeing the go green movement taking the US by storm with more and more companies each year deciding to make the switch. Companies are seeing that the public is very receptive to companies that are environmentally focused and conscious about communities. The New Belgium Brewing Company is special

Why then, even though education is compulsory and supposedly equal in America s public school system, is there a conspicuous education gap between certain communities; especially in the STEM fields? My hypothesis is that the basis of this issue lies in the teaching method of most urban public schools, and I am ready to start my own research to find an answer. I have always had a passion for math. But like so many other inner city students somewhere along the line I was discouraged from pursuing this passion. In today s world, Apple s products are highly sought after because they are very popular for everyone. According to YarowпјЊeditor of The Business InsiderпјЊsaid that the newest iPhone sold 5 million over the opening weekend (Yarow, 2012). However, it is difficult to find the reason why Apple s products are so superior compared with other electronic products in the market. Since Apple s products come out in our life, it has facilitated our life and brought us huge benefits. For instance, people do not need to bring their heavy laptops to go to work every day, because they already have the portable tablet PC iPad. The ascent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... DigiTimes (2010) demonstrates that the first generation of iPad price was $499, at that time some tablet PC manufacturers predicted iPad s price is about $1000 and these tablet PC manufacturers originally planned their tablet prices 20% 30% lower than the iPad. The present the iPad price is only $499, which compels the tablet PC manufacturer to re evaluate the price strategy. If tablet PC manufacturers want their product appealing to consumers, they could only adjust the price lower than the iPad. But the final result shows that it is failed, and now iPad is the fourth generation, but it still people s first choice for PC tablets. If the iPhone and iPad s price were more expensive, maybe they would not be so popular; I believe Apple Company is also aware of this In short, my conclusion is that the cause of Apple s products being popular depends on its creative design, unique innovation and the reasonable price. If there were no Apple s products, I believed the development of electronic products would slow down at least ten years. Because the market has Apple s products, our life is more convenient than before. The emergence of Apple s products makes electronic product market have more competition. No matter what, the direct beneficiaries of the price war is the consumer. The constantly price war will make commodity prices approached the cost. Consumers can buy more high quality

I recognized some of the esotericism and secrecy had been written in between the lines of the publications from structures of secret societies such a freemasonry and Orders of the Golden Dawn. Although I could not fully decipher the mission statement and main objectives of Nuwaubianism, I was able to get an idea of their sentiments toward race and the position of the Black man in society today. These revelations came in the form of an interview. The interview was non traditional in the sense that I did very little of the talking. A member of the organization mistook me for a fellow member and began a conversation concerning their thoughts on their indoctrination. The conversation was fruitful in that it provided sentiments on the outside world wrapped in Nuwaubian dogma, uninhibited by the censorship normally provided to outsiders. According to the interview, a Black man s capacity to flourish relies heavily on the amount of neuromelanin he possesses. • 37. Blues Boundaries And The Blues Angela Davis Analysis Rebekah Scarborough 15 December 2017 History of the Blues Professor House Did Angela Davis get it wrong? As a consequence of slavery and segregation, Angela Y. Davis contends in Blues Legacies and Black Feminism, her study of the recordings of Billie Holiday and the blues vaudevillians Gertrude (Ma) Rainey and Bessie Smith, black social consciousness has been overdetermined by race, with too little attention paid to sex and virtually none to class. Davis, a professor of something called the history of consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz, would have a hard time selling such a notion to this country s black poor, who are understandably inclined to blame the legacy of white racism for their poverty. But she s right in step with the more radical of her academic colleagues, even if her ingrained cultural nationalism prevents her from joining them in dismissing race as an arbitrary social construct with no basis in anthropology. Race, according to current academic thinking, is a smokescreen that has drawn discussion away from the more crucial issue of class. If this sounds suspiciously like Marxism, it is Marxism gone post modern: a tool for the analysis of literary and other texts, not necessarily a call for the exploited masses to rise. One

The compass has spurred travel all around the world by allowing vessels to sail the sea and plains to fly across oceans, I question if we would have the global trade we have today if the compass was never invented. Row planting was a better way to plant, grow and harvest crops and has allowed mankind to farm more efficiently. Iron and steel smelting has allowed man to build bridges and structures that allow for easier travel and commerce. All four of these contributions have influenced the world we live in today and will continue to influence the future of our planet. Characteristics Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5 and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward, making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however, provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better
  • 43. The Impact Of Downsizing On The Corporate World Executive Summary Since the early 1980s, we have witnessed an era of continual and dramatic change in the corporate world (Drucker, 1992; Handy, 1994). These changes have been triggered primarily by global competitive pressures, enhancements in technology and a demanding customer driven market (Ulrich, 1998; Sparrow, 1998; Herriot and Pemberton, 1995). Workforce reduction and redeployment have become prominent features of most organisational landscapes to ensure organisations remain productive and gain competitive advantage. However, business restructuring comes at a cost, with disruption, changes in contracts, changes in employment conditions and the potential to influence on going business operations. Havila Medlin, (2012) claim that when Nissan Australia closed their local car manufacturing plant in February 1992 their share of the Australian passenger car market fell by 50% over the following 3 years. Downsizing has strong emotional impact on psychology of employees; it also influences corporate reputation adversely (Cieri Kramar, 2003). Therefore it is important that managers plan this action through proper planning so that the adverse impact can be reduced to minimum possible level. Human resource researchers and managers have long maintained that the human resource function plays an important role in firm performance. In fact, most corporate annual reports boldly state that the firm s people are its most important asset (Havila Medlin, 2012). An internal

For instance, it has been argued that news media is primarily concerned with reporting on white collar individuals or corporate defendants that readers or viewers will have heard of, such as celebrities or notable individuals in society (Jewkes 2004, 49; Levi 2006, 1044; Levi 2009, 60). This concern leads to the focus of agency in the portrayal of white collar crime, rather than the depiction of the structural embeddedness of crime within the organisation culture. Moreover, past study has shown that majority of white collar crime portrayal in the news media has focused on crimes of individuals and their punishment, in order to minimise the negative publicity of corporations (Benediktsson 2010, 2202 2203). The news coverage of white collar crime has been selective (Stephenson Burton 1995, 137), as seen in the higher coverage of white collar crime stories involving well known individuals. Therefore, the element of dramatisation is constructed through the ways individuals are represented in the media, by focusing on the lifestyle and wealth of the offenders, generated from the crime they

They are actually quite different. With both of them providing different services within their niche. However for you to fully understand the differences, you must first know what each of them carry out on a day to day basis. Warehouses: Warehouses are buildings or structures which store goods. Normally for retail purposes. These goods are kept within the warehouse until the retailer in question needs them, either to stock their shelves or to provide them directly to their customers. You will find that large retailers such as Argos, own their own warehouses, while smaller independent retailers tend to go for a third party experience. This is because for most smaller retailers, the overhead costs of having their own warehouse is not feasible. However the same can be said for larger retail chains. For large retail changes it is not feasible to be paying a third party to store their goods. As they tend to have millions of units of products, which take up a lot of room. Warehouses tend to only ship to retailers. Rather than to individual customers, which makes their job comparatively easier compared to that of a distribution center. As they can send items in bulk, cutting down costs of individual shipping and wrapping. It also means that, storing the stock is some what easier for them too. As they only need to separate the goods into which retailers they belong to.

Big Bang Timeline Timeline of The Big Bang The broadly accepted theory for the origin and evolution of our universe is the Big Bang model, which states that the universe began as an incredibly hot, dense point roughly 13.7 billion years ago before expanding into a large, unexplored cosmos; home to an unknown amount of planets and systems. The universe begins with a cataclysm that generates space and time, as well as all the matter and energy the universe will ever hold. For an incomprehensibly small fraction of a second, the universe is an infinitely dense, hot fireball. At 10 35 to 10 33 seconds a runaway process called Inflation causes a vast expansion of space filled with this energy. The inflationary period is stopped only when this energy is transformed into matter and energy as we know it. After inflation, one millionth of a second after the Big Bang, the universe continues to expand but not nearly so quickly. The most basic forces in nature become distinct: first gravity, then the strong force which holds nuclei of atoms together, followed by the weak and electromagnetic forces. By the first second, the universe is made up of fundamental particles and energy: quarks, electrons, photons, neutrinos and less familiar types. These particles merge together to form protons and neutrons. These protons and neutrons come together to form the nuclei of simple elements: hydrogen, helium and lithium. It will take another 300,000 years for electrons to be captured into orbits around these nuclei

If the teacher wants to be paid each week, then they need to show up to work each day. However, there are also natural negative consequences to behaviors, if you drink and drive then you will lose your license or if you cheat on a test then you will fail, if a student plagiarizes a paper then they risk expulsion.
