How Do I Write An Outline For An Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "How Do I Write An Outline For An Essay" may seem like a
straightforward task, but it involves a multi-faceted process that can be challenging. Crafting an
effective outline requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, a keen sense of
organization, and the ability to convey ideas coherently.
Firstly, one needs to comprehend the importance of outlining in the essay writing process. It
serves as the roadmap, guiding the writer through the logical flow of ideas and ensuring a well-
structured and coherent piece. However, striking the right balance between the broad strokes of
main ideas and the finer details of supporting points can be a delicate task.
Creating an outline also demands a thorough understanding of the essay's purpose and audience.
The writer must consider whether the essay is persuasive, informative, or analytical, tailoring the
outline accordingly. Adapting to the target readership adds another layer of complexity, as the
structure and content need to resonate with the intended audience.
Moreover, the challenge lies in synthesizing the research or information gathered into a cohesive
framework. Juggling various sources, perspectives, and arguments while maintaining a clear and
concise outline requires critical thinking and analytical skills. The writer must sift through the
plethora of information available and discern what is most relevant and impactful.
Additionally, writing an effective outline involves mastering the art of transitions. Seamlessly
connecting ideas and ensuring a smooth progression from one point to another is crucial for a
compelling essay. Achieving this requires a deep understanding of the relationships between
different components of the essay and the ability to convey those connections through the
outline.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on the topic "How Do I Write An Outline For
An Essay" is more intricate than it might appear. It necessitates a combination of research,
organizational skills, and a nuanced understanding of the subject matter. Nevertheless,
overcoming these challenges leads to a well-crafted outline, setting the stage for a successful
essay.

Self Knowledge and Happiness in Pride and Prejudice Essay
Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen is centred on characters that either gain
self awareness and knowledge or possess none at all. Happiness is found even when
one has no understanding of selfhood but the most happy and satisfied people in the
novel are those who have self knowledge. People that possess self knowledge
understand their strengths and weaknesses and characters that gain self knowledge
are able to decipher these characteristics and act upon them. As marriagewas seen as a
great achievement for women in their society, happiness in Pride and Prejudicerelates

Dbq The Advantages Of Cities
There are many advantages of cities, both modern day, and ancient. Cities help
prevent diseases, they organize people and make them more productive, and they
help the economy. In document 1, Edward Glaeser tells how cities help prevent
diseases lowers, because all immunities spread when people are close together.
People are dying a lot less for a while in cities because of this. In documents 1, 2,
and 3, people say how cities organize, and make people more productive. When
people are closer together, they can innovate, and help each other out, as a pose to
suburbs where people are separated, and generally don t help, each other. This leads
directly to cities having a good economy. When everyone is working and things are
going smoothly, the city

Enduring Power Of Attorney Act: This is for individuals who are lacking the
mental capacity and need somebody else to help them manage their legal, financial
and health problems. The mental capacity act therefore made it legal so that those
who are unable to make their own decisions have the ability to choose somebody
who they feel they can trust to help manage their finances, properties and to help
make their health and welfare decision. This is done through the power of attorney.
This act links to individuals who suffer with dementia as within the late stages of
dementia they will need to give someone the power of attorney due to the fact that
they will not be able to manage their legal financial and health problems. Human

Because of my friend Rick Ravanello (who guest starred on the show once last

Lethal Weapon. Initially, I was enticed to view this show on his recommendation,
but from the moment I witnessed the opening scene of the pilot episode, I was
hooked. And the actress who portrays Riana Murtaugh is one of the enchanting
reasons for me to continue to support this entertaining, captivating, action packed
show. At the age of seventeen, Chandler Kinney is a seasoned professional with
incredible talent that has not gone unnoticed. After chatting with her recently, I
realized a couple of things. She is a undeniably gifted and willing to invest the time
and energy necessary to continue growing in her professional life. However, she is
also a positive spirit who intrinsically believes in the signficance of giving back to
the community. RH: It is so lovely to get to talk with you today, Chandler. My
family and I have been fans of Lethal Weapon from the beginning. We have
watched every episode and have absolutely loved it. CK: Awesome! It has been so
great to see your character get some more screen time this season. Yeah, I ve been
so excited to see that happen. Thank you guys for watching! We never watched the

Comparison of Hinduism to Christianity
Hinduism is one of the earliest religons that is still practiced around the world. It
seeks to answer the same questions that Christianity does, but arrives at different
answers. It seeks truth, but fails to find it. Hinduism seeks to ask the question of
where do we come from? This question is not easily answerable. Because of the
nature of Hinduism, everything is in a cycle. There is no beginning and there is no
end. Hinduism also does not have a set of defined rules because of it s views on
multiple views and believes. Because of this, we see a few different origins for
human kind, but Hinduism fails to give a definite definition.
Hinduism would next ask the question of Identity. What does it mean to be human?
Ultimately Hinduism has a rather selfish view of this, even if it believes in peace
and harmony. It looks at people as all part of the same god essence . Humanities
purpose is to be brought back to nirvana. It is me centric. You try over and over to
live the perfect life. There is no grace for the things you do. Ultimately you are
responsible for living the perfect life and reaching Nirvana, a place where you are
one with the god essence .
So what is the meaning of all of this? Humanity must get to Moksha, which is
known as the release. It is a release from wanting and desiring. It is where you are
basically liberated from your humanity. It is the Hindu kind of salvation.
So what about Morality? How do we know what is right or wrong? Hinduism does

Customer Based Brand Equity for Global Brands: A Multinational Approach
Eda Atilgan Serkan Akinci Safak Aksoy Erdener Kaynak
ABSTRACT. Focusing on the dimensions and measurement, this study is based on
the concept of brand equity for global brands with empirical evidence from three
economically and culturally dissimilar countries USA, Turkey, and Russia. The
brand equity for global brands can be measured under four basic dimensions:
perceived quality, brand loyalty, brand associations, and brand trust. Emergence of
brand trust as a new dimension instead of brand awareness complies ... Show more

Although it is apparent that customer based brand equity has multiple dimensions,
there is no general agreement in current marketing literature as to the nature and
content of these dimensions. Previous research has proposed two (e.g., Faircloth,
Capella, Alford, 2001; Keller, 1993), three (e.g., Han Collins, 2002; Netemeyer et al.,
2004), four (e.g., Aaker, 1991; Yoo et al., 2000), п¬
Ѓve (e.g., Lassar, Mittal, Sharma,
1995), and even eight (e.g., Vazquez, Del Rio, Iglesias, 2002) dimensions. However,
many of these brand equity dimensions have not been systematically measured or
validated within a nomological framework (Netemeyer et al., 2004). For example, the
existence and function of trust have not been fully investigated within the context of
brand equity. On the globalization front, branding has received increasing attention
from marketing academicians. The two prominent reasons for this are increased cross
border population mobility and electronic mobility, both of which
contributed to faster transfer of ideas and a global convergence in consumer tastes
and values (Quelch, 1999). Global brands, as defined by Aaker and Joachimsthaler
(1999), are those brands whose positioning, advertising strategy, personality, look,
and feel are in most respects the same from one country to another. Reviewing the top

Migration Problems for Puerto Ricans
Puerto Rico is a Spanish speaking region made up of one big island and a few
smaller islands in the Caribbean Sea. It belongs to the U.S as an unincorporated
territory. It was a place where the country s constitution does not apply by default.
Puerto Ricans are considered Americans. If you are automatically born in Puerto Rico
, you are automatically a U.S citizen. They use U.S passports to travel internationally.
Some people are inclined to view the Puerto Rican experience as a historical
repetition of earlier migrations to the United States. However, the migration
experience of Puerto Ricans to the United States is more complex, as well as one of
a kind. Similarities do exist between the migration of Puerto Ricans and that of other
groups, however, no other ethnic group has shared the tribulations of the Puerto
Rican population. Their experience is different from that of anyone else.
When Puerto Ricans migrated to the United States they did it in two major waves.
The first wave of emigration occurred in the late nineteenth century and early
twentieth century. The second wave occurred from the 1940s to the present. The
workings of Bernando Vega and Jose Cruz deal with the different generations of
Puerto Ricans that these two waves brought to the United States. While Vega
discusses the early emigration of Puerto Ricans to New York City, Cruz discusses the
later emigration of Puerto Ricans to Connecticut. Each author describes a different
Puerto Rican experience in the
A Comparison Of Thor And Beowulf
Beowulf has delighted and intrigued a wide array of people for centuries. The
timeless nature is visible in modern day extensions of this epic, through heroics and
battles of good versus malevolent forces. Beowulf continues to appeal to
sophisticated audiences because it tells the story of a great hero prevailing over evil,
a timeless theme valued by society and portrayed by his counterparts in modern
media, although these new heroes display more complex qualities. Beowulfcan be
compared to Marvel universe s Thor. Marvel has revived and modernized the Norse
god, Thor, for 21st century audiences. Thor and Beowulf both demonstrate incredible
physical strength in battle against villains. In the section The Battle with Grendel

Beowulf uses strategy by sneaking up on Grendel, watching his evil steps, waiting
to see his swift hard claws (257 258). Bond and Beowulf are unapologetic and
unhesitant in battle, but they never kill without reason. Beowulf puts an end to the
villagers suffering at the hands of the evil Grendel. The Danes had been served as
he boasted he d serve them. James Bond and Beowulf have a few similarities.
Beowulf shares characteristics with female superhero Wonder Woman. Wonder
Woman sprung to the top of box office charts last summer, the story focuses on a
female warrior named Diana who endeavors to defeat the malevolent forces of the
Nazi regime. The morally righteous Diana travels from her peaceful home to war
torn Germany, where she contends with Ares and other super villains to restore
peace for the innocent citizens of the country. Beowulf also travels to aid the
villagers who desperately need his help. He who had come to them from across
the sea, bold and strong minded, had driven affliction off (344 345). Much like the
previously mentioned James Bond, Wonder Woman does not need swords or
shields in battle, she is described as a weapon herself, the God Killer . While
Beowulf s followers wield their sword against Grendel to no avail, Beowulf uses his
sheer strength to tear off the bleeding sinews deep in his shoulder and snap Grendel
s bone, leaving him to die of blood

they start to venture out on their own. As they start to meet new people, experience

The techniques that are used by all fraternities and sororities are called rushing and
hazing. Rushing is the act of popularizing a given fraternity or sorority to attract
new members. As mentioned in the introduction, the alternate forms of rushing
cover a large spectrum, but they all have the same goal: be the best to attract the
best. Hazing is another variable method closely aligned with fraternities and
sororities, but hazing for different fraternities and sororities can have vastly
different outcomes. Hazing, in its most simple and basic form, is the imposition
of strenuous or complicated tasks as a form of initiation. In contrast to popular
belief, a lot of normal activity is considered hazing. For example, a college football
team might tell the freshman that they are responsible for cleaning up loose
garbage on the field after a practice. As mild as this example might be, hazing can
be taken to an extreme and often has poor outcomes that can severely damage the
psyche of an individual. However, a sense of tradition and continuation continually
inspires hazing among social groups, but fraternities and sororities especially.
Hazing has become a form a bonding that allow new initiates to become closer as a
brotherhood or sisterhood; these two both being the most important part of
fraternities and sororities. To create an everlasting bond, Greek organizations
promote ultimate a familial intimacy that is unparalleled by other social groups. It is

Comparing Tristan And Isolde Vs. Lancelot And Guinevere
Love can be a person s greatest gift or curse that will bring them to their demise. It
infects their mind, controls their actions and consumes their thoughts with the
singular obsession of being around their love. In the love stories, Tristan and Isolde
and Lancelot and Guinevere, the characters face problems of the soul, and that bring
about monumental repercussions to everyone around them. In both of these works,
the characters experience loving someone out of reach. Their loveis taboo; it will
never be accepted because of their circumstances. This causes a rift in their stream
of normality and forces actions to be made. Love triangles emerge since the
characters are trying to find a way to achieve their goals but still keep what they
have. In both of the stories, Tristan and Isolde love each other similarly to Lancelot
and Guinevere. All they can think about is each other. (insert quote). Lancelot went
behind his king s back to be with Guinevere just like Tristan. Both of them knew that
each of their kings was with the woman they love, but both realized that no matter
what they did their relationship would be forever confined to the shackles of secrecy,
darting glances of affection and sporadic moments of privacy. The relationship
between the enamored men and their kings is different. Tristan was the stepson of the
king, and it hurt him, even more, to see his beloved with his father. While on the
other hand, Lancelot s situation was a little different.

Metabolism is the process of cellular respiration. It involves three steps, 1)
glycolysis, 2) the citric acid or Krebs cycle and 3) electron transport system. The
glycolytic pathway or glycolysis is a metabolic process that leads to the formation of
the energy source adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the body. ATP is essential to the
cell and the cellular processes used by the cell. The first step, glycolysis is the process
by which each molecule of glucose is converted to two pyruvate molecules, creating
two ATPs and two nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH).
NADH is also converted to four ATPs during the electron transport chain.

Succinyl Coenzyme A Synthase is an enzyme that is responsible for the conversion
of succinyl coenzyme A to succinate. This enzyme catalyzes the reaction and is
responsible for creating ATP or GTP. The reaction takes place in the seven step of
the Citric Acid Cycle. The tissues under which this enzyme is utilized appears to
determine whether GTP or ATP are produced. Under conditions of anabolic
metabolism, in the liver and kidneys, GTP appears to be the product. While under
catabolic reactions, ATP is produced. A deficiency in Succinyl
Coenzyme A Synthase causes the disease Fatal Infantile Lactic Acidosis in newborns
and is fatal within 2 4 days. This disease creates a buildup of lactic acid in the system
as it creates a break in the Citric Acid Cycle. There is a net loss of ATP creating toxic

Nutritional Assessment Of Food Intake
Abstract:
The aim of this practical work is to check the usual food intake during a weekday
and weekend. Total nutrient intake distributions and supplement consumption were
informed. A group of individuals selected between 22 37 years of age including both
genders, and food diary and 24hr recall method is used to measure the nutritional
intake. Results obtained using SSPS software a statistical significant difference (P
value 0.05) seen between weekend and weekday.
Introduction:
The dietary analysis is a valuable tool to find what people eat, and how much they
eat (Millward, DJ and Jackson, A A. 2003). Nutritional assessment is a
comprehensive evaluation to assess food consumption at a national level, household
level and an individual level. This type of technique ranges from food records to
questionnaire and biological markers.
Assessment of both the measure and quality of nutrient intake is a part of assessing
the adequacy of a human diet. The goal is to avoid dietary deficiency in children,
pregnant and lactating women, which helps in planning national food strategies,
especially in the food crisis, and as a research purpose to assess the effect on the
nutrition education program by ensuring that the intake meets or exceeds the need
within the body, hence by ensuring equality between measures of such needs and
consumption.

Statistical methods can be useful in compliance assessment and corrective action
monitoring, where single sample testing is mandatory against a static groundwater
protection standard. These criteria health and also those derived from related as a
fixed standard. The primary tool for monitoring is the confidence interval. Numerous
ranges of confidence intervals, including confidence intervals around means, medians.
The goal is on planning tests with reasonable statistical performance in terms of per
test false positive rates.
Confidence interval are designed to estimate statistical characteristics of some
parameter of sampled population. Given a statistical parameter of interest such as the
population mean (Вµ), the lower and upper limits of a confidence interval define the
most probable concentration range in which the true parameter should be.
Like any estimate, the true parameter many not be located within the confidence
interval. The frequency with which this error tends to occur is denoted О±, while its
complement (1 О±) is known as the confidence level. The confidence level represents
the percentage of cases where a confidence interval constructed according to a fixed
algorithm or equation will actually contain its intended target, e.g., the population
mean.
A point worth clarifying is the distinction between О± as the complement of the
confidence level when constructing a confidence interval and the significance level
(О±) used in hypothesis testing. Confidence
Bradstreets Views Towards Male Essay
Bradstreet s views toward Male Dominance
As a female in a highly patriarchal society, Bradstreet expresses her feelings using a
clever technique called reverse psychology to prove her point, her disapproval of her
community s belief of unequal treatment and prejudice against women. Bradstreet
believes that women are treated unfairly in her society, regarding gender as
insignificant. She faces many conflicts and struggles in her Prologue , expressing her
opinion towards women s rights, implying that gender is unimportant and male

Yemen s Water Crisis and the Pending Destabilization
Yemen s Water Crisis and the Pending Destabilization
The country of Yemen is on the verge of imploding due to a water crisis. When the
water runs out Yemen will destabilize and with it the entire Horn of Africa (HOA).
The United States has many ongoing militaristic, economic, and diplomatic interests
in the HOA. In order for the Horn of Africa to remain stable the United States needs
to take a different approach with its humanitarian efforts in Yemen, utilizing the full
support of the military. If delivery and implementation of humanitarian aid are not
planned and coordinated with full military operational support the process will be
doomed, as so many humanitarian efforts have been in the past. Specifically if the
water crisis in Yemen is not addressed it will destabilize the country causing increased
violent extremist activity and civil unrest. Without water for its people the Yemeni
government will be weakened allowing militant Islamic groups to regain power
within Yemen and the HOA, ultimately threatening the United States Homeland.
Look no further than the recent conflict in Syria as a prime example. Francesco
Femia and Caitlin Werell, co founders of the think tank Center for Climate and
Security believe a severe drought contributed to the conflict in Syria. A
mismanagement of natural resources, and a heavy reliance on water intensive crops
compounded the effects of the drought. They believe the huge migration of farmers

Commander s Intent
The commander s intent is a critical part of mission command. The commander,
through the commander s intent, must blend the art of command and the science of
control that integrates all joint warfighting functions. ADM Wesley McDonald,
Commander US Atlantic Command (LANTCOM), failed to convey the commander s
intent to the joint force for Operation Urgent Fury. This failure promoted
misunderstanding and mutual trust issues among the joint force that affected the
integration of joint functions such as intelligence and sustainment.

When planning for joint operations, Commanders must include all services and
multinational partners to promote understanding. A joint force that understands the
capabilities and limitations among the force builds trust across the force. LANTCOM
command did not foster a climate of mutual trust during Operation Urgent Fury. Trust
is essential element during operations. Senior leader must trust the abilities of
subordinates and subordinates must have trust in senior leaders. The lack of mutual
trust began at the senior level of military command and continued during the
execution of Operation Urgent Fury. The JCS rejected LANCOM s attempts to blend
ground forces and established boundary lines between ground forces. Additionally,
subordinate commanders did not trust the LANTCOM. During the initial ground
operations, a brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division came under attack. Instead of
requesting reinforcements through joint operation channels, the request for
reinforcement went directly to the 82nd Airborne Division rear staff. Mutual trust is
difficult to build during operations. US armed forces must seek every opportunity to
conduct joint training exercises to build mutual trust before operations. Joint
exercises develop habitual relationships among the services and promote mutual trust.
The lack of mutual trust not only affects command and control but other joint
function such as intelligence. LANTCOM failed to coordinate and
The Pros And Cons Of Offshore Oil Drilling
Many oil companies, like Standard, practice offshore oil drilling. This method of
oil extraction, obtaining oil by drilling at deposits under the ocean, is not vital to
the US economy since it contributes less than other industries along the coast, such
as the tourism, clean energy, and fishing. Oil drilling near the shores of the
coastline also harms wildlife. Offshore drilling disasters destroy the coastal
environment and the industries that depend on it. US government regulations on
offshore oil drilling are essential. Advocates for offshore drilling claim that a ban
would eliminate over one million jobs in the oil industry (Kreutzer). The number
of people currently in the clean energy sector, however, surpassed 4.5 million. The
number of jobs in the clean energy sector grows twelve times faster than the rest of
the US economy (EDF). In fact, jobs created by clean energy would surpass the
number of offshore drilling jobs created along the Atlantic Coast by 2 to 1
(Oceana). Also, the GDP the clean energy sector contributes grows rapidly and will
surpass $1.3 trillion by 2030 (Guerrini). Additionally, offshore drilling threatens jobs
that rely on a clean ocean. On the East Coast, 1.4 million jobs rely on tourism,
fishing, and other ocean related occupations (Oceana). These industries contribute
$95 billion in GDP for the US. Allowing for more offshore oil drilling by inaction or
deregulation will not improve the US economy. It contributes less than the coastal
industries

Ocean City Madness

mornings but in the afternoon, may be overwhelmed by the different types of
people on the beach. Depending on the time of day, the beach will feel like a
completely difference experience. It can switch from a relaxing day soaking up the
sun to virtually being in the middle of a beach brawl and swarmed by wild seagulls.
These things are all part of ocean city s crazy experience.
After traveling for 3 hours, my family arrived at our beach house in Ocean City
Maryland. After making a quick trip for groceries, we decided to go to bed and set
alarm clocks for early in the morning. After a good nights sleep, I woke up to the
pleasant smell of bacon and eggs. After feasting on a delightful breakfast, my
brothers and I began to get ready for the beach. We went down the creaky wooden
stairs of our beach house and unlocked the storage room located beneath the home. I
decided to carry both of the floral umbrellas while my brothers took the portable
beach chairs. After grabbing all of our gear, we headed back up the weathered stairs
and towards the distant sand dunes. As we approached the entrance of the sand
dunes, the satisfying sounds of the ocean s waves started to become closer and

sea. At this early point in the morning, the sand walkway enclosed by
Fuel Injection Essay
The multiple advantages of Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine have
positioned this technology as the current trend for gasoline powertrains [1, 2].
Amongst GDI benefits, the increased power output, and improved engine
efficiency [1, 3, 4] are the most advantageous. Therefore, GDI engines are framed
in the drive for more efficient technologies and in the reduction of anthropogenic
greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. However, the major concern about
GDI engines is the increased particulate matter (PM) emissions compared to their
counterparts Port Fuel Injection (PFI) engines [5, 6]. PM composition can vary
depending on the engine operating condition. In the case of stoichiometric GDI
engine operation, with optimized fuel injection timing, the PM formed contains a
low level of soot. However, there are some circumstances, such as in cold start
operation, which could lead to higher rates of soot formation due to the large fuel
droplets formation and spray impingement. In the case of lean GDI engine
operation, stratified charge promotes increased levels of soot as a result of the rich
in fuel regions in the combustion chamber [7]. PM negative effects on human health
and the environment have been broadly reported. In the work carried out by Jarvis
et al [8], the carcinogenic and mutagenic behavior of polyaromatic hydrocarbons
(PAHs) adsorbed in the carbonaceous core (soot) of PM is reported. Furthermore,
researchers have provided evidence to link PM exposure to asthma

The Government And Its Effects On The Minority Report
By...
The government plays a major role in dystopic stories and novels, and as these
stories start to unfold, one can see the flaws in which how government works and
how if effects the rest of society. In the Minority Report, written by Philip K. Dick,
the mechanisms of the government s systems begins to show different flaws when
surveillance is use to determine the pre crimeof major crimes, and what happens to
their citizens once a verdict is reached. Any type of Government surveillance can do
more harm than good, due to the fact they invade the privacyof the people, in some
cases resulting in giving innocent people unfair and unlawful punishments, and also
because it can fail to protect and create an aspect of fear among their citizens.
In The Minority Report, Philip K. Dick creates a government that can make an arrest
with the assumption that their suspect is guilty, without taking into consideration
that there was a minority report, which is the chance that their suspect is innocent.
The people of this society had begun to see how this system is corrupt, and the
coming to the point of how, If no arrests were made, there would still have been no
crimes committed. As people see the chances of innocent citizens being arrested for
no crime, they begin to think, how many murders would actually take place, and
how many people would be falsely accused. When the flaw of arresting innocent
people is first drawn to attention, it is made clear that any person who had be given a

Reaction Paper About Imelda Marcos
It is without a doubt that she is beautiful. Despite our ability to perceive beauty as
something beyond one s exterior, Imelda Marcos charmed her audiences with her
porcelain and flawless skin, her distinct up do, her demeanor, and her numerous

As an influential woman, she aimed to inspire others to live by God, love and

despite her seemingly heroic attempts to reclaim Filipino identity, she illustrated how

Fast Fashion vs. Slow (Luxury) Fashion
By Alanna Mitchell
In 2014, Jean Paul Gaultier retired from his Ready To Wear line. In an interview with
The
Associated Press he said, Too many clothes kills clothes... Fashion has changed. (1)
This change that Gaultier is referring to is known as Fast Fashion . It is a
phenomenon within the fashion industry that has made its way into Australian
consumers wardrobes over the past five years (11). It involves unsustainable
production processes that are expedited in order to get new trends to the market as
quickly and cheaply as possible (4) whilst encouraging disposability.
Fashion should never be thought of as a disposable product yet mainstream
consumers are still trying to grasp the notion of paying more for a clean conscience
and to understand that luxury is still the best that money can buy.
The fashion industry is the most labour dependent industry in the world with 1 in 6
people on Earth somehow being involved in the global fashion industry. 85% of
these people are women earning less than $3 a day. Today we purchase over 80
billion pieces of clothing each year. And while the price of clothing has been
decreasing for decades, the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically.

Migration. New York, NY: Random House, 2010.
Isabel Wilkerson s, The Warmth of Other Suns starts in the winter of 1916, as the
world hears the news of the European war. Therefore, it was easy for American s to
overlook things such as The Chicago Defender reporting the several black families
in Selma, leaving the South. The Defender was a popular African American weekly
newspaper which informed African America s about stories in the coming years, also
having train schedules for the community to read. The Defender occurred as both
cheerleader and chronicler of an exodus that would led about six million African
Americans to abandon the states of the Old Confederacy between 1915 and 1970.

determination to roll the dice for a better future. Therefore, to find review wealth

advantage has worked historically for Americans of all colors.

The Basics of Cognitive Theory in Relation to the...

Explain the basics of cognitive theory in relation to the development of abnormal
behavior. Use Aaron T. Beck and Albert Ellis as theorists for reference.
If you believe the saying Perception is everything, then you may well be a cognitivist.
According to the cognitive perspective, people engage in abnormal behavior because
of particular thoughts and behaviors that are often based upon their false assumptions.
Cognitives believe that without these thought processes, we could have no emotions
and no behavior and would therefore not function. In other words, thoughts always
come before any feeling and before any action. ... Show more content on

Therapists help patients realize that their own beliefs contribute greatly to, maintain,
and even cause their psychological problems (Stefan, 2011).
Stefan added that this approach leads patients to realize the irrationality and rigidity
of their thinking and encourages them to actively change self defeating beliefs and
behaviors. Ellis initially named the treatment Rational Therapy, the Rational Emotive
therapy, and finally Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to stress the interrelated
importance of cognition, behavior, and emotion.
Like all theories, the cognitive perspective is not free from criticism. First,
behaviorists see this theory as weak due to the abstract nature of thoughts and the
difficulty in defining them. What may be seen as self critical by one researcher may
look like a rational remark by another.
Second, there is no agreed upon definition or application of the theory. It is seen as
fairly new and while it receives a great deal of research, the underlying theory of
personality development is weak at best. So while it may have very positive outcomes
in treatment, it does not provide a solid understanding of development. For the neo
Freudian, this might mean that cognitive therapy is only a temporary approach and
does not address the real reason behind a personality issue. [ (Christopher, 2004) ]
As you read, the basic premise behind cognitive theory is the idea that the way we
think about or perceive ourselves and others, determines how

The Importance Of Nation-State Policy
Along with the twenty first century tagged an interconnected and globalized world,
consociated by instantaneous worldwide communication and the free dissemination
of information. With this new era of technology, economic policies of nation states
have become so interdependent that most nation state economies would be crippled
without their respective international trading partners. As such, one may wonder if an
introspective national policy is appropriate, as argued for by the source. For example,
one may contend that international cooperation inevitably results in unequitable
compromise, with the more powerful nation states forcing developing countries into
partisan trade deals. This argument, however, does not take into account the... Show

nation state understands its own eccentricities best, and that others cannot empathize
because they simply do not have such resources, such as seals. A nation state that
chooses to remain isolated from the world suffers technologically. A prominent
example of the detrimental effects of isolationism and the beneficial effects of
international trade can be observed through the period and abolition of Sakoku, better
known as the isolationist foreign policy of Japan. During isolation, the Japanese were
only scarcely aware of the technological advances in Western technology. As such,
when U.S. Commodore Matthew Perry s black ships arrived, the Japanese were
shocked at just how advanced the technology was, especially in shipbuilding and
weaponry. Rather than closing off its borders and potentially suffering the same fate
as China, the Meiji government decided to rapidly Westernize the nation, in terms of
technology and in things like clothing and eating habits, in an attempt to convince the
Western powers that the Japanese were their equals. By the time the Meiji rule

Divorce s Toll On Children
In the Bahamas, it is predicted that 25% of marriages will end in divorce ,
(Brennen, 2004). Divorce can be and ugly and costly affair, especially when it
comes to a child s well being. Divorce affects children in a multitude of ways such as
their physical, emotional, social and educational development. According to the
article Divorces Toll on Children by Karl Zinsmeister, children exposed to divorce
are twice as likely to repeat a grade and five times likelier to be expelled or
suspended from school. In the early months after a divorce, young children
especially between the ages of 10 14, are less imaginative, more repetitive and
passive watchers. They tend to be more dependent, demanding, unaffectionate and
disobedient than children from intact families. They are more afraid of abandonment,
loss of love and bodily harm. Children who come from divorced families, especially
young children, tend to be problematic in the classroom, not just emotionally but
academically as well.

Dalai Lama s Essay-Moral Is A Complex Thing
Do Moral Is A Complex Thing Humans emotions are very complex. It is hard to tell
others when people do moral, they ways are true and wrong. The behaviors that
humans appear are also influenced by their values. And their values are influenced by
many aspects. Such as cultures and religions. Thus, when humans know that we need
to think things in moral ways, the ways that to be moral are different. As the Dalai

In some religions such as the Buddhism, people need to be comprehensive.
However, the Dalai Lama as a person who live in that religions, his word are
opposite to his education: Because of the profoundly interconnected reality of
today s world, we need to relate to the challenges we face as a single human family
rather than as members of specific nationalities, ethnicities, or religions. (139) In
his words, if humans do moral, humans cannot consider what they are educated.
Education includes many aspect and humans thoughts also include the education
which we learned these years. It is hard that when humans do moral just do moral
with their inner feeling. Actually, the feeling also impacted by people s values.
When the Dalai Lama wrote this essay, he also use his value to tell people how to
do moral rather than tell people think more about their inner feeling. Hence, the
value and inner feeling is same thing. They are difficult to be consider as two parts.
Herzog puts forward an idea called the trouble middle, its concept is I also believe
that our vastly greater capacity for symbolic language, culture, and ethical judgment
puts humans on a different moral plane from that of other animals. (247) Because
people s values are different, the ways people treat animals are different. Just as
Herzog says, there are many

There are a number of critical social and organizational issues with security. The first
is that the weak link in security is often users or employees, rather than the
technology. The second is software engineering management, or managing how
security technology is deployed. The third is the development of adequate
organizational processes for risk management, separation of duties, and development
of security policies, access control, and security assurance. Advantages of E
commerce Lower Cost Doing e business is cost effective; it reduces logistical
problems and provides a small business with competitive advantage with giants such
as Amazon.com or General Motors. E commerce helps in reducing cost of business as
it enables to get access to large population. Economy It helps in development of
economy. It provides the business an international platform to do transactions and get
a competitive advantage in the economy and increase the productivity. Higher
Margins E business along with higher margins helps in gaining more control and
flexibility and enables to save time when manual transactions are done electronically.
Better Customer Service E commerce means better and quicker customer service.
Online customer service makes customers happier. Instead of calling your company
on the phone, the web merchant gives customers direct to their personal account
online.
The Characteristics Of Basketball Athletes In The NBA
All great basketball players have skills, and a reason that makes them great. When
people think of professional basketball players, the first word that usually comes to
mind is tall. However, that is not always the case. There are many players that are
under 6 3 and while that may sound tall to us, it is short in the world of basketball.
Surprisingly, some of the shorter players are known to be better on the court. And
they re not just known for their height... many are known for the name brands they
represent. Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and Jordan are just a few of the brands
that are promoted by these players. All great basketball players, NBA or not, are
tall. Both current and past players all have a common trait of being tall. Lebron
James 6 8 , Kevin Durant 6 10 , Jimmy Butler 6 6 . All of these players have height,
and the skills that come with it. Being tall in the NBA doesn t guarantee you are
the best players, but it does give you a significant advantage. Lebron and Kevin
both have championship rings and a numerous amount of MVP s (Most Valuable
Player). These awards show what having height and the skills that come with it
This can give a huge disadvantage to the rest of the smaller guards and forwards in
the NBA. Both Kevin and Lebron developed the skills of being big men, and once
it was perfected, they developed the insane art or shooting. These two players can
shoot from anywhere, that s what makes them so dominant and un guardable.
Their size only adds to the fact that smaller players can t contest them or use their
bodies against them. All great players like these have height and the skills that
come with it. All great basketball players can be short . Guards, these are the
faster, quicker, and I think more lethal players in basketball. All guards have a
similar trait of being short or shorter than most players. These short guards like
Steph Curry 6 3, Damian Lillard 6 3, and Isiah Thomas 5 9, obviously don t have
the height to compete, but they do have an insane mind set and have all of the skills
to be better than anyone else. These skills are passing, shooting, and dribbling.
Guards are the most lethal players in all of the basketball leagues in my opinion. Stats
Data Modeling Concepts
Data Modeling Concepts COM 660 Data Modeling Concepts Following document
explains what are data models and the importance of data model. Building a good
data model helps organizations in software development, data base design and
product maintenance. The document explains the theory, even if it looks like the
organizations are spending substantial amount of resources on developing data
models, but still it helps organization, keeping the costs low and build a better
product. Database constitutes of data structures and is represented by conceptual data
structures. Data models are abstract models which is required to define how data can
be consumed and put to effective use. The main reason why construction of data

Data item includes all elements that exist to define components of configuration
items. Examples include employee details, course details or student grade details.
Data Items have a number of attributes, and is related to a single configuration
item. Relationship Items defines relationship between two configuration items, or
two data items or between a configuration item and data item. Examples include
employee relationship with courses schedule, courses schedule relationship with
students and students relationship with grades. Relationship can be one to one,
one to many or in many to many form, depending upon how the business functions
are setup. Why is Data Modeling Important? Data modeling is the most critical
aspect development process. Developing data model is very expensive in terms of
labor, time and future business process. Even if there is time crunch or pressure to
deliver the project, still data modeling should be done, before any other database
development activity happens. Databases should not be built without data model.
Same as it is not viable to build a house without blueprints. Projects can go terribly
wrong if the process is not being followed and would cost in terms of money time
and loss in profit. The primary goal of the data model is to ensure that the all data
objects required by the database are analyzed and planned to represent it
Similarities Between Blanche Dubois And Stella Kowalski
Being very different and not share the same character traits are usual but anyone
would find when observing the dissimilarities among the main characters of the
movie A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams that people are not same.
The movie s main female characters are Blanche Dubois and Stella Kowalski. These
sisters are very dissimilar in countless ways, from their behavior, and approach, to
their views regarding the action of women. Although, they matured up together and
were raised by the same people. Their relationship is a major example of just how
different two people can be.
The opening of these sister s differences appears to divide the changes in
personalities. Stella is actually a relaxed person for the most of the times,

very elite group of student athletes. There were significant differences amongst the
nutrition education programs provided to student athletes. Most studies evaluated the
affect that interventions had on nutrition knowledge or food intake; however some
studies evaluated self efficacy, anthropometrics, or participationin the nutrition
education program. Of the eleven included studies, five evaluated group nutrition
education sessions, three evaluated one on one dietitian counselling, three evaluated a
newsletter/fact sheet intervention, one evaluated peer nutrition counselling, one
evaluated an interactive internet based intervention and one evaluated a cooking

Controversy Over Internet Censorship
The internet is a free tool that allows everyone extraordinary opportunities to express
their thoughts or beliefs. Being able to express their opinion to a worldwide
audience, has a growing number of audience participating in the movement. This has
many people worried about the kind of speech that is used by people who seized the
opportunity. Though many people use the internetto enhance their learning or to
communicate, then there are number of people sending hate speech or sending
threats out in the open web with nothing to worry about. Therefore, I believe the
content on the internet should be regulated because the internet holds a lot of power
and that power could potentially be abused. The law should also apply to the internet.

Since the internet is a huge platform, for the government to be able to regulate every
single thing that would be a threat or is meant to hurt someone is next to impossible.
Many big social media companies regulate their website by algorithm, when a certain
amount of people report a post that is offensive or is meant to hurt someone
emotionally, it will be taken down. According to Self regulation of Internet Content,
Filtering technology can empower users by allowing them to select the kinds of
content they and their children are exposed to. Used wisely, this technology can help
shift control of and responsibility for harmful content from governments, regulatory
agencies, and supervisory bodies to individuals (Pg.9). Therefore, regulating the
content that is posted on the internet is a crucial step that is needed to be taken to
insure that people are not able to emotionally hurt someone with an internet

Some other questions that I am going to answer that support my main problem are
whether or not the type has anything to do with how late a bill get paid.
Analysis and Methods
Based on the data the dependant (response) variable is the days overdue which is
represented in Figure E as Y. The independent (predictor) variable is the bill amount
and the type of bill which are represented by X in Figure. In analyzing all the data I
was able to conclude that we did not need the type in the regression analysis, so based
on that conclusion the following analysis are what I based my report on:
A)1st Analysis Overdue Bills Commercial
a.Scatter Plot Shows: Figure A
i.The higher the bill the less overdue it is, and the lower the bill the more overdue it is
b.The scatter plot follows the straight line this scatter plot has a negative linear
relationship.
c.Regression Analysis: Figure B
i.Days = 101.7582 0.1910 * Bill ii. 95.7% of the data can be explained by using the
commercial data with the independent variable of Bill. iii. The slope of 0.191 for
each increase of one unit in x, the Y is estimated to increase
The Bon MarchГ© Essay
The Bon MarchГ© Michael Miller s book, The Bon MarchГ©: Bourgeois Culture
and the Department Store, 1869 1920, is an expansive and interesting look back on
a era of Parisian history that is best represented by its then current trend and social
innovation, the department store. The book gives a fascinating account of the store
from its beginning to eventual common place status in 1914. The book gives an
insight on the factors in which the store saw success, such as the management, the
labor, and new marketing. It also gives light to the social factors that made the store
possible (i.e education and economy). Bon MarchГ© is a book about the change in
the 19th century French market and the effect it then had on the bourgeoisie class. The

Aristide and Marguerite established the new Bon MarchГ© with a managerial
tactic of benevolence to answer a need to maintain control over the store s
performance and progress. The employees of the Bon MarchГ© were some of the
best paid employees in all of Paris, as well did they receive great in house benefits.
In 1876, Aristide Boucicaut announced the establishment of a financial fund for
employees. This was designed to make the employees apart of his house, or family.
The methods proved so effective that even the Boucicauts eventual successors
(though most having made their way up the ranks of the store) continued their
system. In part three, Miller gives life to the Bon MarchГ©; the store slowly but
surely becomes a part of the bourgeoisie class and social culture, giving them such
practices as displaying art, selling nouveautГ©s, a library of books, and a venue
for concerts. The store attracts a certain kind of upper class. They wished to be
able to take part in something as close to the middle class as possible. The store
added more middle class employees and merchandising items that personified
middle class values; the Bon MarchГ© helped construct the new idea of how the
middle class looked and acted. The Bon MarchГ© is a well researched, well drafted,
and well organized book of whose argumentation is linear and sequential. The book
would excite business historians with the ideas of merchandising

Meaning And Definition Of Ledger By J. R. Batliboi
Meaning and Definition of Ledger
According to J.R. Batliboi , The ledger is the chief of accounts and it is in this book
that all the business transactions would ultimately find their place under their
accounts in a duly classified form.
A Ledger should be kept in the form of bound register, or in the form of cards or in
punched sheets or it can be in the form of loose leaf binder. Every account in the
ledger is opened preferably or it can be in a separate page or card
These all business transactions are first recorded in Journal or Special Purpose
Subsidiary Books. The next step is to transfer the entries to the respective accounts
in Ledger. In other words this shows that all the entries are recorded in Journal or

All transactions relating to an account should be entered at one place. In others
words, two separate accounts should not be opened for posting transactions relating
to the same account. If there are two customers with similar names, say the Account
of Anil (of Karol Bagh) and the Account of Anil (of Chandni Chowk).
2.The word To is used before the accounts which appear on the debit side of an
account. Similarly, the word By is used before the accounts which appear on the
credit side of an account.
3.If an account has been debited in the journal entry, the posting in the Ledger should
also be made on the debit side of such account. In the particular column, the name of
the other account which has been credited in the Journal entry should be written for
reference.
4.If an account has been credited in the Journal entry, the posting in the Ledger
should also be made on the credit side of such account. In the particular column, the
name of the other account which has been debited in the Journal entry should be
written for reference.
5.Similar account which has been posted on the debit side of an account should also
be posted on the credit side of another
Argumentative Essay On Snapchat
Abilene Christian University (ACU) in Texas has kicked out several teenage
students for posing in blackface on a video on messaging app Snapchat. A video
surfaced on Snapchat showing an unidentified white female student sporting black
makeup covering her face and oversized costume lips. In the said clip, the student
says I m a strong black woman while people s laughter in the background is audible,
the Daily Mail describes. In addition, the Snapchat video is accompanied by the
caption: This is why black lives matter exists. The footage has sparked outrage among
ACU students, with one student expressing disbelief that someone at ACU could do
something like that. Others called for the students who made the Snapchat video to

powerful tool that matches addresses found, to actual, real, precise locations found
in the reference data. The choice of the reference data is essential in the success of
the geocoding. It will affect the accuracy of your results. The most important
aspect of the process of geocoding is having three components. They are the
address table, reference data and an address locator. The address locator is created
by have a reference file and a locator style. With geocoding you can display the
address location using the address locator, which is usually a point feature. Once this
is accomplished, the address elements (address name) can be compared against the
elements in the reference file. The geocoding process will construct a table with all
matches, un matches and the ties of these
Error Analysis Lab
Error Analysis
One scientific error was that the classroom lights were turned on while observing the
spectral tubes with the spectroscope. The interference of observing the spectral tube
with the classroom lights on in the opposite room may have disrupted the observed
line spectra. For instance, some of the colored lines observed through the
spectroscope, while directed towards the spectral tubes, could have taken into account
of the classroom lights. As a result, the sequence of the colored lines observed from
the spectral tubes could have included the colors emitted from the classroom lights.
Therefore, the colored lines of the unknown element observed with the spectroscope
may have not been cadmium due to the effect of the classroom lights ... Show more

Furthermore, the purpose is to understand how to determine an unknown element
based on spectral patterns and to observe emission from spectral tube. In this
experiment, several chemical concepts are observed, such as the Bohr Theory of the
atom that when atom has enough energy, electrons can jump to a higher energy
level. Eventually the electron in the higher energy level would fall back is a lower
energy level is available since it s more stable. As a result, a photon of
electromagnetic radiation is emitted when the electrons go from various energy
levels. In order to determine the energy of each photon the equation E=hv is used.
When the photon s wavelength is between 400 nm and 700 nm, the electromagnetic
radiation is visible light. Since each element has its own unique electron
configuration when an excited atom experiences changes in its electrons between
energy levels, each element has its own distinct line spectrum. The colors of the
lines indicate the color of the visible light when the energy difference between two
levels is emitted as a photon of electromagnetic radiation. When an atom is excited, it
produces the specific colored lines in its spectrum due to the electron jumping or
falling between different energy levels. Therefore, our eyes see

Michigan. At the beginning the Dodge Brothers helped Ford by supplying him

Self Knowledge and Happiness in Pride and Prejudice Essay Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen is centred on characters that either gain self awareness and knowledge or possess none at all. • 7. Comparison of Hinduism to Christianity Hinduism is one of the earliest religons that is still practiced around the world. It seeks to answer the same questions that Christianity does, but arrives at different answers. It seeks truth, but fails to find it. Hinduism seeks to ask the question of where do we come from? This question is not easily answerable. Because of the nature of Hinduism, everything is in a cycle. There is no beginning and there is no end. Hinduism also does not have a set of defined rules because of it s views on multiple views and believes. Because of this, we see a few different origins for human kind, but Hinduism fails to give a definite definition. Hinduism would next ask the question of Identity. What does it mean to be human? Ultimately Hinduism has a rather selfish view of this, even if it believes in peace and harmony. It looks at people as all part of the same god essence . Humanities purpose is to be brought back to nirvana. It is me centric. You try over and over to live the perfect life. There is no grace for the things you do. Ultimately you are responsible for living the perfect life and reaching Nirvana, a place where you are one with the god essence . So what is the meaning of all of this? Humanity must get to Moksha, which is known as the release. It is a release from wanting and desiring. It is where you are basically liberated from your humanity. It is the Hindu kind of salvation. So what about Morality? How do we know what is right or wrong? Hinduism does not really

Focusing on the dimensions and measurement, this study is based on the concept of brand equity for global brands with empirical evidence from three economically and culturally dissimilar countries USA, Turkey, and Russia. Although it is apparent that customer based brand equity has multiple dimensions, there is no general agreement in current marketing literature as to the nature and content of these dimensions. Previous research has proposed two (e.g., Faircloth, Capella, Alford, 2001; Keller, 1993), three (e.g., Han Collins, 2002; Netemeyer et al., 2004), four (e.g., Aaker, 1991; Yoo et al., 2000), п¬ Ѓve (e.g., Lassar, Mittal, Sharma, 1995), and even eight (e.g., Vazquez, Del Rio, Iglesias, 2002) dimensions. However, many of these brand equity dimensions have not been systematically measured or validated within a nomological framework (Netemeyer et al., 2004). For example, the existence and function of trust have not been fully investigated within the context of brand equity. On the globalization front, branding has received increasing attention from marketing academicians. The two prominent reasons for this are increased cross border population mobility and electronic mobility, both of which contributed to faster transfer of ideas and a global convergence in consumer tastes and values (Quelch, 1999). Global brands, as deп¬Ѓned by Aaker and Joachimsthaler (1999), are those brands whose positioning, advertising strategy, personality, look, and feel are in most respects the same from one country to another. It belongs to the U.S as an unincorporated territory. It was a place where the country s constitution does not apply by default. Puerto Ricans are considered Americans. If you are automatically born in Puerto Rico , you are automatically a U.S citizen. They use U.S passports to travel internationally. Some people are inclined to view the Puerto Rican experience as a historical repetition of earlier migrations to the United States. However, the migration experience of Puerto Ricans to the United States is more complex, as well as one of a kind. Similarities do exist between the migration of Puerto Ricans and that of other groups, however, no other ethnic group has shared the tribulations of the Puerto Rican population. Their experience is different from that of anyone else. When Puerto Ricans migrated to the United States they did it in two major waves. The first wave of emigration occurred in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. The second wave occurred from the 1940s to the present. The workings of Bernando Vega and Jose Cruz deal with the different generations of Puerto Ricans that these two waves brought to the United States. While Vega discusses the early emigration of Puerto Ricans to New York City, Cruz discusses the later emigration of Puerto Ricans to Connecticut. Each author describes a different Puerto Rican experience in the
  • 10. A Comparison Of Thor And Beowulf Beowulf has delighted and intrigued a wide array of people for centuries. The timeless nature is visible in modern day extensions of this epic, through heroics and battles of good versus malevolent forces. Beowulf continues to appeal to sophisticated audiences because it tells the story of a great hero prevailing over evil, a timeless theme valued by society and portrayed by his counterparts in modern media, although these new heroes display more complex qualities. The Danes had been served as he boasted he d serve them. James Bond and Beowulf have a few similarities. Beowulf shares characteristics with female superhero Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman sprung to the top of box office charts last summer, the story focuses on a female warrior named Diana who endeavors to defeat the malevolent forces of the Nazi regime. The morally righteous Diana travels from her peaceful home to war torn Germany, where she contends with Ares and other super villains to restore peace for the innocent citizens of the country. Beowulf also travels to aid the villagers who desperately need his help. He who had come to them from across the sea, bold and strong minded, had driven affliction off (344 345). Much like the previously mentioned James Bond, Wonder Woman does not need swords or shields in battle, she is described as a weapon herself, the God Killer . While Beowulf s followers wield their sword against Grendel to no avail, Beowulf uses his sheer strength to tear off the bleeding sinews deep in his shoulder and snap Grendel s bone, leaving him to die of blood

Hazing is another variable method closely aligned with fraternities and sororities, but hazing for different fraternities and sororities can have vastly different outcomes. Hazing, in its most simple and basic form, is the imposition of strenuous or complicated tasks as a form of initiation. In contrast to popular belief, a lot of normal activity is considered hazing. For example, a college football team might tell the freshman that they are responsible for cleaning up loose garbage on the field after a practice. As mild as this example might be, hazing can be taken to an extreme and often has poor outcomes that can severely damage the psyche of an individual. However, a sense of tradition and continuation continually inspires hazing among social groups, but fraternities and sororities especially. Hazing has become a form a bonding that allow new initiates to become closer as a brotherhood or sisterhood; these two both being the most important part of fraternities and sororities. • 12. Comparing Tristan And Isolde Vs. Lancelot And Guinevere Love can be a person s greatest gift or curse that will bring them to their demise. It infects their mind, controls their actions and consumes their thoughts with the singular obsession of being around their love. In the love stories, Tristan and Isolde and Lancelot and Guinevere, the characters face problems of the soul, and that bring about monumental repercussions to everyone around them. In both of these works, the characters experience loving someone out of reach. Their loveis taboo; it will never be accepted because of their circumstances. This causes a rift in their stream of normality and forces actions to be made. Love triangles emerge since the characters are trying to find a way to achieve their goals but still keep what they have. In both of the stories, Tristan and Isolde love each other similarly to Lancelot and Guinevere. All they can think about is each other. (insert quote). Lancelot went behind his king s back to be with Guinevere just like Tristan. Both of them knew that each of their kings was with the woman they love, but both realized that no matter what they did their relationship would be forever confined to the shackles of secrecy, darting glances of affection and sporadic moments of privacy. The relationship between the enamored men and their kings is different. Tristan was the stepson of the king, and it hurt him, even more, to see his beloved with his father. While on the other hand, Lancelot s situation was a little different.

Numerous ranges of confidence intervals, including confidence intervals around means, medians. The goal is on planning tests with reasonable statistical performance in terms of per test false positive rates. Confidence interval are designed to estimate statistical characteristics of some parameter of sampled population. Given a statistical parameter of interest such as the population mean (Вµ), the lower and upper limits of a confidence interval define the most probable concentration range in which the true parameter should be. Like any estimate, the true parameter many not be located within the confidence interval. The frequency with which this error tends to occur is denoted О±, while its complement (1 О±) is known as the confidence level. The confidence level represents the percentage of cases where a confidence interval constructed according to a fixed algorithm or equation will actually contain its intended target, e.g., the population mean. A point worth clarifying is the distinction between О± as the complement of the confidence level when constructing a confidence interval and the significance level (О±) used in hypothesis testing. When the water runs out Yemen will destabilize and with it the entire Horn of Africa (HOA). The United States has many ongoing militaristic, economic, and diplomatic interests in the HOA. In order for the Horn of Africa to remain stable the United States needs to take a different approach with its humanitarian efforts in Yemen, utilizing the full support of the military. If delivery and implementation of humanitarian aid are not planned and coordinated with full military operational support the process will be doomed, as so many humanitarian efforts have been in the past. Specifically if the water crisis in Yemen is not addressed it will destabilize the country causing increased violent extremist activity and civil unrest. Without water for its people the Yemeni government will be weakened allowing militant Islamic groups to regain power within Yemen and the HOA, ultimately threatening the United States Homeland. Look no further than the recent conflict in Syria as a prime example. Francesco Femia and Caitlin Werell, co founders of the think tank Center for Climate and Security believe a severe drought contributed to the conflict in Syria. This method of oil extraction, obtaining oil by drilling at deposits under the ocean, is not vital to the US economy since it contributes less than other industries along the coast, such as the tourism, clean energy, and fishing. Oil drilling near the shores of the coastline also harms wildlife. Offshore drilling disasters destroy the coastal environment and the industries that depend on it. US government regulations on offshore oil drilling are essential. Advocates for offshore drilling claim that a ban would eliminate over one million jobs in the oil industry (Kreutzer). The number of people currently in the clean energy sector, however, surpassed 4.5 million. The number of jobs in the clean energy sector grows twelve times faster than the rest of the US economy (EDF). In fact, jobs created by clean energy would surpass the number of offshore drilling jobs created along the Atlantic Coast by 2 to 1 (Oceana). Also, the GDP the clean energy sector contributes grows rapidly and will surpass $1.3 trillion by 2030 (Guerrini). Additionally, offshore drilling threatens jobs that rely on a clean ocean. On the East Coast, 1.4 million jobs rely on tourism, fishing, and other ocean related occupations (Oceana). These industries contribute $95 billion in GDP for the US. Allowing for more offshore oil drilling by inaction or deregulation will not improve the US economy. It contributes less than the coastal industries

Amongst GDI benefits, the increased power output, and improved engine efficiency [1, 3, 4] are the most advantageous. Therefore, GDI engines are framed in the drive for more efficient technologies and in the reduction of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. However, the major concern about GDI engines is the increased particulate matter (PM) emissions compared to their counterparts Port Fuel Injection (PFI) engines [5, 6]. PM composition can vary depending on the engine operating condition. In the case of stoichiometric GDI engine operation, with optimized fuel injection timing, the PM formed contains a low level of soot. However, there are some circumstances, such as in cold start operation, which could lead to higher rates of soot formation due to the large fuel droplets formation and spray impingement. In the case of lean GDI engine operation, stratified charge promotes increased levels of soot as a result of the rich in fuel regions in the combustion chamber [7]. PM negative effects on human health and the environment have been broadly reported. In the work carried out by Jarvis et al [8], the carcinogenic and mutagenic behavior of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) adsorbed in the carbonaceous core (soot) of PM is reported. Furthermore, researchers have provided evidence to link PM exposure to asthma

Ellis initially named the treatment Rational Therapy, the Rational Emotive therapy, and finally Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to stress the interrelated importance of cognition, behavior, and emotion. Like all theories, the cognitive perspective is not free from criticism. First, behaviorists see this theory as weak due to the abstract nature of thoughts and the difficulty in defining them. They tend to be more dependent, demanding, unaffectionate and disobedient than children from intact families. They are more afraid of abandonment, loss of love and bodily harm. Children who come from divorced families, especially young children, tend to be problematic in the classroom, not just emotionally but academically as well.

The behaviors that humans appear are also influenced by their values. And their values are influenced by many aspects. Such as cultures and religions. Thus, when humans know that we need to think things in moral ways, the ways that to be moral are different. As the Dalai Lama mentions in his essay called Ethicsand the New Genetics, the ways to close to the moral thinking need to follow humans inner emotions. • 43. The Characteristics Of Basketball Athletes In The NBA All great basketball players have skills, and a reason that makes them great. When people think of professional basketball players, the first word that usually comes to mind is tall. However, that is not always the case. There are many players that are under 6 3 and while that may sound tall to us, it is short in the world of basketball. Surprisingly, some of the shorter players are known to be better on the court. And they re not just known for their height... many are known for the name brands they represent. Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and Jordan are just a few of the brands that are promoted by these players. All great basketball players, NBA or not, are tall. Both current and past players all have a common trait of being tall. Lebron James 6 8 , Kevin Durant 6 10 , Jimmy Butler 6 6 . All of these players have height, and the skills that come with it. Being tall in the NBA doesn t guarantee you are the best players, but it does give you a significant advantage. Lebron and Kevin both have championship rings and a numerous amount of MVP s (Most Valuable Player). These awards show what having height and the skills that come with it This can give a huge disadvantage to the rest of the smaller guards and forwards in the NBA. Both Kevin and Lebron developed the skills of being big men, and once it was perfected, they developed the insane art or shooting. These two players can shoot from anywhere, that s what makes them so dominant and un guardable. Their size only adds to the fact that smaller players can t contest them or use their bodies against them. All great players like these have height and the skills that come with it. All great basketball players can be short . Guards, these are the faster, quicker, and I think more lethal players in basketball. All guards have a similar trait of being short or shorter than most players. These short guards like Steph Curry 6 3, Damian Lillard 6 3, and Isiah Thomas 5 9, obviously don t have the height to compete, but they do have an insane mind set and have all of the skills to be better than anyone else. These skills are passing, shooting, and dribbling. Guards are the most lethal players in all of the basketball leagues in my opinion. Stats

The Bon MarchГ© Essay The Bon MarchГ© Michael Miller s book, The Bon MarchГ©: Bourgeois Culture and the Department Store, 1869 1920, is an expansive and interesting look back on a era of Parisian history that is best represented by its then current trend and social innovation, the department store. The book gives a fascinating account of the store from its beginning to eventual common place status in 1914. The book gives an insight on the factors in which the store saw success, such as the management, the labor, and new marketing. It also gives light to the social factors that made the store possible (i.e education and economy). Aristide and Marguerite established the new Bon MarchГ© with a managerial tactic of benevolence to answer a need to maintain control over the store s performance and progress. The employees of the Bon MarchГ© were some of the best paid employees in all of Paris, as well did they receive great in house benefits. In 1876, Aristide Boucicaut announced the establishment of a financial fund for employees. This was designed to make the employees apart of his house, or family. The methods proved so effective that even the Boucicauts eventual successors (though most having made their way up the ranks of the store) continued their system. In part three, Miller gives life to the Bon MarchГ©; the store slowly but surely becomes a part of the bourgeoisie class and social culture, giving them such practices as displaying art, selling nouveautГ©s, a library of books, and a venue for concerts. The store attracts a certain kind of upper class. They wished to be able to take part in something as close to the middle class as possible. The store added more middle class employees and merchandising items that personified middle class values; the Bon MarchГ© helped construct the new idea of how the middle class looked and acted. The Bon MarchГ© is a well researched, well drafted, and well organized book of whose argumentation is linear and sequential. The book would excite business historians with the ideas of merchandising

The interference of observing the spectral tube with the classroom lights on in the opposite room may have disrupted the observed line spectra. For instance, some of the colored lines observed through the spectroscope, while directed towards the spectral tubes, could have taken into account of the classroom lights. Therefore, the colored lines of the unknown element observed with the spectroscope may have not been cadmium due to the effect of the classroom lights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, the purpose is to understand how to determine an unknown element based on spectral patterns and to observe emission from spectral tube. In this experiment, several chemical concepts are observed, such as the Bohr Theory of the atom that when atom has enough energy, electrons can jump to a higher energy level. Eventually the electron in the higher energy level would fall back is a lower energy level is available since it s more stable. As a result, a photon of electromagnetic radiation is emitted when the electrons go from various energy levels. In order to determine the energy of each photon the equation E=hv is used. When the photon s wavelength is between 400 nm and 700 nm, the electromagnetic radiation is visible light. Since each element has its own unique electron configuration when an excited atom experiences changes in its electrons between energy levels, each element has its own distinct line spectrum. The colors of the lines indicate the color of the visible light when the energy difference between two levels is emitted as a photon of electromagnetic radiation. When an atom is excited, it produces the specific colored lines in its spectrum due to the electron jumping or falling between different energy levels. Therefore, our eyes see
