• The name of our project is postmortem pat, which is play on words of the original series
title, and the theme of death. Our genre for our trailer to fit our target audience is a
horror/thriller. We think this works because teenagers seek excitement and fit into the
psychographics of mainstreamers, aspirers and explorers. In the demographics of our trailer
we have decided that it can be for any gender, ages 13-18 and predominantly white. This is
because the cast will all be white, as we live in an abundantly Caucasian populated area.

3. Summary and ideas
• Our trailer is a remake of the children’s show postman pat, which was originally a cartoon about
a man with his cat Jesse delivering parcels. Our version is IRL and a bit more sinister, for those
who would have watched it as a child but have now grown up. In our trailer we will show a
scarier side to the old show people remember to be fun and innocent. The trailer is about a
postman delivering body parts instead of packages, hence the audience is for teenagers. Our
narrative starts with two young girls who aspire to be detectives and come across a potential
case, when their friends dad (the mayor) gets delivered a severed finger. Throughout the
narrative, there are numerous plot twists and chains of events such as this, resulting in a dramatic
trailer. In our trailer, we are going to show some of the important scenes leading up to the new
equilibrium, resorting in the trailer being a cliff-hanger; engaging a wider audience.

4. Summary of trailer
• In our trailer, it begins with the two girls, who are part of an unofficial society who upload their
findings to a detectives blog and share ideas. The first scene will be a clip of them hiding,
recording themselves explaining secretly that they’ve figured something big out. This will be
shown through the POV of a camera so you will see the filters of the camera for affect. In the
background the faded whistling of the postman theme tune gets closer and closer until it cuts off
abruptly and goes to a black screen, starting the voice over introducing the trailer. During the

5. Cast/crew/props/costumes/settings/effects
• For our cast and crew, we have planned for the two girls to be us, Postman pat to be Jasmine’s
father, the Mayor to be Emma’s Grandad and their friend to be Sophia Groves, our friend. The
costumes/makeup/hair, will suit modern generations, except for the postman who will be in
uniform. The uniform may not be an actual post-man outfit, but we will find appropriate
clothing similar to the original. The locations we want to film in are fields in our village, our
houses, gardens, streets etc.
• For special effects, we decided we were going to use filters, like the camera effect and dark
filters in dramatic scenes. Also using various transitions to switch between the shots, so it looks
natural rather than cheap. We have a few ideas for what interesting camera movements we
would like to include, such as a dolly zoom and canted angle. For instance the scene where a
victim realises there’s no escape, or when showing the disoriented mind as the postman gets
closer.
