The Stolen is a story about Young Charlotte Lockton (Alice Eve), she has settled in the North Island with her wealthy husband, David. But her life’s dreams are shattered when he’s murdered on their farm and her baby son is kidnapped. A month after paying a ransom, frustrated with the apathy of the authorities and distrusting of her staff, she decides to track him down on her own.
And so begins her journey through the wilds of an untamed New Zealand. She comes into contact with Villains, Suffragettes, Hustlers, Chinese Grocers and native Maori Warriors. And she’s forced to join a convoy of Whores, Dancers and Ex-Cons heading for the rough mining community of Goldtown.
There she meets Joshua McCullen (Jack Davenport,) the owner of the mining town: a man who is key to uncovering the truth behind the disappearance of her son, forcing her to fight to the death for what she holds most dear.
‘The Stolen’ is an exciting and unique balance of gripping narrative, dynamic action, arresting visuals, and fully-rounded characters offering ripe potential for great performances.
Considered to be one of Steven Berkoff’s best dramatizations, The Tell Tale Heart is based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe. First published in 1843 and widely held to be a classic of the Gothic fiction genre, it tells the gruesome tale of a lonely servant who plots to kill an old man because of his evil ‘vulture’ eye. The murder is carefully planned, with the body dismembered and hidden under the floorboards.

We will then follow up with discussions and hands-on experiments on working with embryos, ovums, gametes, genetic materials from code to slime, in a creative and playful workshop setup, where all paticipant can collaborate on artistic interventions into the germline of a post-human future.
3. The genre of our film is action or adventure which means we can include
people going on holiday and living their dreams. Our film is packed with
adrenalin-rushing moments giving the viewer a virtual experience
throughout!
When looking at the genre we wanted to make something enjoyable for our
audience, with our target audience being mums and dads around the ages of
20-30 who generally stay at home.
4. Genre success influences
We got the idea of family from this film because this family goes on
a road trip and our film focuses on the journey of a family after
finding out the daughter is suffering from terminal illness.
We got ideas from this film about someone being ill and not
having long to live, we are using this in our film when one of
the main characters is ill and has decided to go on their ‘last
adventure’.
We also got inspiration from this film because this is a
similar scenario of someone doing what they’ve always
wanted to do before they sadly die.
5. The story line:
In this film a young girl lives a rough life and diagnosed with a long term
illness, as if things weren't bad enough already, she knows she doesn’t
have long left. she decides that she needs a bucket list, and that she
needs to accomplish her dreams and fast. But where would she get the
money?
So she later goes around the world on a road trip, Taking her loving
family with her every step of the way visiting extraordinary places, and
doing things her way. she has the time of her life. Overcoming all her
fears and achieving her dreams. But will she have the time to do it all?
And get to Experience her most important dream?
6. Setting - Film Language
• One setting will be at the family’s house in America.
• Another will be at the hospital when the main character finds out that
they are ill. The weather here will be dull and dark to portray the
emotional times that the family will be going through.
• The main setting will be in New York where the whole family will be
on an adventure. The weather will be very sunny and bright in this
setting which will show the family’s happy times together.
• The final setting will be at the church where the characters funeral
will be held. In this setting the weather will be dull to represent the
sad atmosphere of the funeral.
7. Sound - Film Language
• Our soundtrack will include several non-diegetic and parallel music.
For example, when the diagnosis scene occurs at the start we will
accompany the sorrowful atmosphere with slow-paced a lower
volume sound from a violin to encompass the devastation for Stacey
and her family.
• Additionally, when the family are on their exciting travels all over the
world, the overall soundtrack will change from upbeat music in order
to capture the idea of a girl going to all extremes to fulfil her lifelong
dreams and ambitions.
8. Editing - Film Language
• There will be huge contrasts in the camera angles we will use in our
film. For the more emotional and hard-hitting scenes, the majority of
camera angles will be close ups and extreme close ups to visualise the
emotion in facial expressions of Stacey and her family.
• On the other hand, when the family are on their travels, we will opt
for a series of long shots to give the viewer an experience of the
amazing places they will visit during their adventure.
9. The audience
The audience is aimed at stay at home mums and dads,
so this film needs to be able to get them out the house
and suitable for young children in case these parents need
to bring children into the cinema.
This film would be in the cinema around autumn time
,because the weather would be getting colder so no-one
would want to be out in it and it is more likely for the film
to get more views because people can watch it out there
house but indoors.it gives these stay at home parents a
good time to socialise more.
10. Enigma codes:
Without doubt, the audience will be asking themselves questions, the
whole way through, like whether or not she will be able to complete
her life long bucket list and whether she can do it in time.
The guessing and asking questions means the audience can stay
engaged right up until the very end, this means that the audience will
not be distracted from the storyline which is chronological from start to
finish.
11. Cast
We have lined up an all-star cast and we are looking to pitch our film to worldwide
production companies such as, Warner Bros, Paramount or Lionsgate. Our cast
includes the likes of:
Jim Carrey as ‘Gavin Weston’
Jennifer Anniston as ‘Kate Weston’
Dylan Sprouse as ‘Max Weston’
Chloe Moretz as ‘Stacey Weston
Why?
We feel that our line up will really capture the theme because these actors are
experienced and can adapt to any role as they have shown in previous films they have
starred in. For our project, Carrey will play the father, Anniston the mother, Dylan the
son and finally Moretz will play the daughter who
12. Main Characters - Stacey
• The image we want to create for our main character is a vulnerable
teenage girl, who at the start is completely uninspired in her own life.
Slowly but surely she picks herself up from a state of heart-breaking
despair thanks to the unrivalled support from her close family.
• This courageous spirit of Stacey will provide our young female viewers with
a role model showing how life should not be taken for granted.
13. Main Characters - Gavin
• We feel that Jim Carrey is the perfect figure to represent a loving
father in a hard-hitting film such as ours. Carrey’s ability to change
character is second to none which bodes well as our film requires an
individual who can adapt to any situation with class and
professionalism.
• Carrey has huge experience as an actor. He played the role of a loving
husband in the 2003 film Bruce Almighty and has no limits when it
comes to acting different scenarios.
14. Marketing:
This film will be marketed by the trailer being on YouTube and on
certain websites e.g. Facebook. Because these stay at home parents
would often socialise on the internet, so its easier for them to see and
get hold of.
Also a lot of posters will be posted every where including on buses and
all over the web. Finally, our film will be displayed on huge billboards all
across the UK.
15. Budget
• Our film fits into the mainstream film industry and will potentially be
viewable at cinemas all over Europe and North America.
• The budget for this production will be around the £60 million mark
due to casting some of Hollywood’s biggest actors in recent times.
• Additionally, we will need to invest time, money and effort into
creating the more difficult shots when capturing the once in a lifetime
moments so that the audience can experience every intense moment
with sheer excitement and happiness.
