This document outlines a design project assignment to create a symbolic self-portrait logo. Students are asked to design a logo incorporating text and/or symbols that represent some aspect of themselves, their life, opinions, or field of study. The logo should be visually exciting and convey a sense of who they are. Over two weeks, students will brainstorm ideas, choose a typeface, trace their design, and plan the composition before using a large-scale printer to create their final logo design. Typography, images, and graphic elements are highlighted as key components of graphic design. Examples of logos and designers like Neville Brody and Frank Chimero are provided for inspiration.
