The student reflects on their speech and identifies some areas for improvement. They felt their structure and organization were good but could have been better. Their opening was good but could have been more startling. Their paragraphs were effective but could have been more efficient. Their writing was detailed but could have added more content. They drew good arguments and conclusions but could have added more suspense. They think they could have been more expressive in their delivery by varying tone and using more gestures. They learned from other speeches what they did well and could improve. They prepared by partially memorizing their speech to continue if forgetting parts and practicing delivery. Their speech content and refuting opposition were highlights but delivery was more difficult and an area to focus on.

Target Mark Comment Write with appropriate structure and organisation. 1 2 3 4 5 I think that I had a well formatted speech and followed an appropriate structure and was well organized, but could of been better. Use quality openings 1 2 3 4 5 I would say that my speech had quite a good opening but could of started off with more of a shock or a better startling statement. Use paragraphs effectively 1 2 3 4 5 I think that my paragraphs were quite effective but could have been set out a bit more efficiently. Write with detail 1 2 3 4 5 I think that my written passage was detailed and descriptive but could have had a bit more to bulk up my speech. But the problem is if I did i8t would drag on for too long. Set out arguments and draw them to a conclusion effectively 1 2 3 4 5 I thought that I drew the audience to quite a few good arguments with conclusions. But I could of gained more suspense in my speech if I had a few more good reasons
