INTRODUCTION
• Laser communications systems are wireless
connections through the atmosphere.
• The word laser is an acronym that stands for
“light amplification by the stimulated emission
of radiation”.
• They work similarly to fiber optic links, except
the beam is transmitted through free space.
• In recent years, the laser light is being used to
carry information over large distances.
• Here we are using laser for communication
between two system.
• At present coaxial cable, twisted pair optical
fibre is used for communication.
• Laser will allow point-to-point communication
- over vast distances, through air or space,
with little data loss.

ADVANTAGES
• Laser light has higher intensity, efficiency, as well
as better visibility and performance quality.
• Laser light has a much lower transmission loss
per unit length.
• It is not susceptible to electromagnetic
interference.
• Less costly then cables and much faster then RF.
APPLICATION
• Used in high-density communication system
such as satellites .
• Used in round clock monitoring.
• For communication across the runways.
FUTURE SCOPE
• It is widely used to transmit television and
data signals as light waves.
• Further it can be used to transmit audio and
video signals.
