Delegates will have an opportunity to hear examples of how institutions are working in partnership with students to identify and affect sustainable change. Students who have participated in the network will share their experiences and outline the benefits they have experienced in working in partnership with staff on curriculum change initiatives. The network has worked with the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) to develop an award for staff and students working in partnership on change projects, the Institutional Change Leader award and this session will offer an insight into how colleges and universities are recognising and rewarding student participation in change projects. Participants will engage in discussion around this award and will be given access to the accreditation resources and materials, which they may wish to take to their own institution. The network has also developed a guidance toolkit to support colleges and universities with implementing student partnerships, which has been developed from the collective resources of a range of Jisc, Higher Education Academy, QAA and institutional initiatives in this area. Delegates will participate in a group activity using these interactive materials so as to evaluate their use in supporting their own practice in taking forward student partnership working in their own institutions. Over the course of a long-term unit, students documented the school's vegetable garden, gully and other environmental projects. They shared their work on the school website, wiki and internet to promote the school's sustainability efforts. The project integrated technology into the school's environmental curriculum and allowed students to become independent learners.

The project aimed to create awareness about the impact of plastic usage on the environment. Three messages: • Senior management in education needs to innovate from within to open up education. • Governments must take firm decision on holistic policies for open and distance education. • Stakeholders should team up meeting the two grand challenges through open education and technology enhanced learning.

В своем выступлении я решил поделиться результатами своего исследования для Шведского-Датского проекта в области энергетики Energi Øresund. В рамках данного проекта нами было проведено исследование Датского острова Борнхольм. Остров до поры до времени был не слишком успешным в социально-экономическом плане, пока государство и бизнес не решили вплотную заняться его развитием. В результате была разработана новая стратегия и создан новый бренд Bornholm: Bright Green Island, и остров стал тестовой площадкой для возобновляемой энергетики и одним из лидеров в сфере зеленых технологий в регионе.

Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade. The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization, population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming more evident. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different 'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the land. The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover. Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface, providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and diverse human activities. Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions.
