The document proposes creating seating structures in the Metro Prima community using recyclable wooden pallets. This would provide seating for users while also serving as advertising for OCBC bank. The seating aims to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood by repurposing space, providing recreation, and creating a welcoming outdoor area using economical and recyclable materials. Sketches and precedent studies show examples of simple, foldable seating made from recyclable materials that could be adapted to the site.

Earth and bamboo are two materials which have been used together for a wide range of traditional construction techniques in Southeast Asia. Both materials are locally abundant and affordable materials with a very low carbon footprint. Both are known to be materials of the people. And both are materials which can be used for crude self-construction or with highly engineered precision. Are earth and bamboo only materials of the past, or are they also materials for the construction of a sustainable future? Please come to discover yourself in this 5-day hands-on workshop at Auroville. The same workshop format will be offered four time in the year 2015.
This portfolio includes some of the landscape architecture undergraduate student projects I have done in China and the U.S in the past few years. Because of the shortage of time, some parts might not be informative enough to you. An improved version would be uploaded shortly afterward.
A collection of my first and second year MLA work as well as work experience in the landscape architecture profession in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

A master plan or a development plan or a town plan may be
defined as a
general plan for the future layout of a city showing both the existing and
proposed streets or roads, open spaces, public buildings etc. A master
plan is prepared either for improvement of an old city or for a new
town to be developed on a virgin soil. A master plan is a blueprint for the
future. It is an comprehensive document, long-range in its view, that
is intended to guide development in the
township for the next 10 to 20 years.

2. Metro Prima is a mixed development area - from residential to com-
mercial, located strategically within the thriving town of Kepong.
The high volume of users within the Metro Prima community rais-
es the issue of lack of seating or waiting area for users who visit the
area.
Our proposal is to create “seating/structures” for the users in Metro
Prima which not only uses recyclable material (wooden pallet) but
serves as an advertisement medium for OCBC.
3. AIMS & OBJECTIVES
- To repurpose the function of a transition space
thus improving the quality of life in the neighbour-
hood
- To provide a recreational space for community
engagement
- To create a more welcoming and vibrant out-
door space for the local community
- To design a recreational space whilst using eco-
nomical and recyclable materials
