Reasons For Not Accepting Acts As A Historical Record
Consider Paul, and you will see that our being mortal brings us the greatest benefits (Chrysostom,
NCE p216). Mortality means being subject to death, and this is a result of the human race not
being perfect; not being consistent. When observing ancient accounts of what occurred, it is
necessary to remember the mortality of all people, and the inevitable debates that will arise over
discrepancies in different sources citing the same instance. Paul of Tarsus is a man who s life is
highly debated, I, however, would argue that though Paul was once a Jewish leader, he experienced
a conversion and helped start the new Jesus movement. He then preached what he believed about
Jesus to anyone, despite much controversy. In order to dive into these... Show more content on

Another argument for the validity of Acts is that Luke was inseparable from Paul (NCE p186
Irenaeus). Many times throughout Acts the author, presumably Luke, says we , referring to the
fact that he was with Paul throughout the book (the we passages in Acts include Acts 16:10 17,
20:5 15, 21:1 18, and 27:1 28:16). Surely if the author was there, it is a reliable view, yet different
perspective, of what occurred in Paul s life. Other important and reliable sources from the Bible
are Paul s epistles. Many say that theses undisputed letters present a seemingly completely
different person of Paul than Acts presents, but I am willing to argue that this is simply due to
differing perspectives. Two people viewing or living the same thing will almost always result in
somewhat different stories. I do not think that there are any contradictions between the two that
are big enough to invalidate either of the sources. The final sources I will use are the opinions of
both ancient and modern critics, as well as ancient sources. Even Paul s background and the
basis of who he was is heavily debated. According to Acts 22:3, Paul was born in Tarsus, but
raised and educated in Jerusalem by the pharisee Gamaliel. As he was raised in the Jewish church,
he became a prominent Jewish leader, with his main focus on persecuting those who followed Jesus

Thayer s Microcosm Of Culture
In discussing Dartmouth s landscape, we primarily stuck to the center of campus: the Green,
Dartmouth Hall, Baker Library, etc. On the way west side of campus, Thayer promptly sits, hidden
by the trees on the south side of Tuck Drive. As Pierce K. Lewis explains, if one part of the country
looks substantially different from some other part of the country, then the chances are very good
that the cultures of the two places are different also. We know that Dartmouth is not a country, but
in essence it has many qualities to resemble one an administration (government), employees (faculty
and staff), taxpayers (students), states (different academic major buildings).
Thus, Thayer is its own microcosm of culture, which is clearly resembled in its comparatively
different architecture compared to the rest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Magnolia Paul Thomas Anderson Essay
After viewing and an examination of one of Paul Thomas Anderson success film Magnolia , I have
analysed that Anderson uses multiple themes involving regret and loneliness in the film which is
connected to auteur theory. What I am going to examine is: How were the themes and the
characters are related? How did Anderson s filmtechniques affect in the film? And why did
Anderson use his similar style within the film? These questions are to give an understanding that
focuses mainly on auteur theory in the film.
The film takes place in San Fernando Valley where it revolves around eleven characters about their
stories in one particular day. These stories have a little connection with each other as it involves
dealing with their past and having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film techniques he uses in most of his films is symmetry, the whip pan and the steadicam. In
Magnolia , the steadicam was used when Stanley, the quiz kid is guided through the TV studio. It
lasted for about three minutes. This technique was used to show the characters interaction within
the studio. Compare to Hard Eight , Anderson uses his steadicam to follow Sydney, a man in his
60s walking in the casino, where you are not only focus on him but you see the other characters
interactions in the background. The symmetry shot was used when two people are talking to each
other in their opposite sides. In Magnolia , we can see Frank and the woman interviewer talking to
each other in their opposite sides, hence it s called a symmetry shot. Anderson used this shot to
create a sense of tranquility but also a sense of anxiety of the characters. The famous whip pan
technique that Anderson used in Magnolia creates an effective fast paced atmosphere as he uses the
inter cuts between the characters to show the impact of

Argumentative Essay On Metal Music
Metal music: Noise pollution of today Metal music is a genre of rock music that developed in
the late sixties and early seventies. It is characterized by its loud distorted guitars, dense bass
and drum sound and vigorous vocals. Because of its different and a bit aggressive sound, metal
music is not everyone s cup of tea. Sadly, metal community is often faced with a lot of
stereotypical opinions. The most widespread stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are
about the devil and hell. One more stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are just pointless
screaming. All these stereotypes are wrong because metal music has a very wide range of
lyrical themes and, next to usual loud songs, there are also some very nice and emotional
ballads. Only problem with metal music is the fact that this kind of music is often associated
with drugs, alcohol and violence. It is true that some metal fans consume drugs and alcohol, but
that does not mean that all fans of metal music should be categorized as drug addicts and
alcoholics because those people s addiction is a result of their bad choices and it has nothing to do
with the music they listen to. Talking about violence is pointless because if you compare a metal
concert with a football game you will see that metal fans... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the fact that it is a source of energy, relaxation, comfort and inspiration. Last but not the least
important thing is the research that shows that there is a strong link between heavy metal and high
intelligence. That research proves that metal music has meaning and that it is not just some random

Persuasive Essay On The Joker
The scene opens with Darth Vader, one of the greatest villains to exist in a fictional universe. He
glides through the doors of the Rebel ship, stormtroopers following closely behind. His all black
outfit, cape, helmet, and all stand out against the stark white interior of the ship. His unmistakable
breathing echoes throughout the hall, and his light saber clings by his side. All great and
memorable villains have several things in common. All great fictional villains have great costumes
that make them memorable. For example the Jokerfrom the Batmancomic books, as well as the
movie adaptations has a great costume. He is most noticeably seen in a royal purple suit, and
green or purple tie. His hair is a nasty green color, usually seen slicked back. His defining
characteristic lies with his clown makeup, pasty white face paint, and a bright red smile, all
which define the name Joker. Another great villain with a memorable costume also belongs to
the Batman universe. This villain being The Penguin. The version that has the most notoriety is
the one from the Tim Burton Batman film from 1989. The Penguin is seen in a black suit,
monocle, and top hat. It is his makeup that really makes him live up to his namesake. His skin is
painted a pale white, eyes a sunken in grey color, and a nose made to be elongated to resemble a
beak. A villain with a great costume outside of the Batman universe is the greatest of all villains,
the one and only Darth Vader. He is clad is all black apparel, black combat style boots, a black cape,

Rockefeller Essay
Arguments have raged over Standard Oil and its business practices since its prime in the 1870 s
and 1880 s. Was it a monopoly? Did it severely impede fair competition? If it was a monopoly, did
it hurt the consumer? These are the questions that have been argued in debates about Standard Oil
and its practices. Whether Standard Oilwas a monopoly or not, the more important question to
economists is, were the practices of the Standard Oil Company efficient and did it hurt the social
wealth of the country? The government s enforcement of the Sherman Antitrust Acton Standard Oil

First, they built extremely high quality, larger refineries. They also set forth in creating their
own cooperage or barrel making plant. The plant ended up cutting the cost per barrel from $3.00
to $1.25 and saving Standard Oil around $4,000,000 per year (John D. Rockefeller and the
Standard Oil Company). Twenty wagons were purchased by 1868 to more cheaply move the oil.
A warehouse was built on the Hudson and East River in New York City and Standard Oil had
their own boats to transport the oil. They were also the first to transport the oil via tank cars and
invested in a fleet of them. All of these moves were vertical integration steps that reduced the
production costs of Standard Oil.
Since Standard Oil was so large, it became economical to build a plant to create products from the
waste of the refining of Kerosene. They produced lubricating oil that replaced lard for machinery.
They used the gasoline as fuel instead of dumping it into the Cuyahoga River like some competitors
had been doing. Consequently, the Cuyahoga had frequently caught fire. Paraffin was another
byproduct that they manufactured because it was insoluble in water could be used for making
candles and waterproofing goods. The most recognizable product that was created from the waste
was Petroleum. Petroleum was a basis for ointments and lubricants. It was later marketed under the
brand name of Vaseline. With Standard

Anyone Lived In A Pretty Town Analysis
Cummings casual and vernacular punctuation and repetition in [anyone lived in a pretty town]
narrows the gap between himself and the readers by conveying his message more authentically. He
applied plenty of parentheses into his poem and relies heavily on enjambment while two complete
sentences and seven parentheses appeared. Authors often use parentheses to make comment and
emphasize a point, so in Cummings casual, he adds a large amount of comments to his content. As
an illustration, he writes, anyone lived in a pretty how town / (with up so floating many bells
down) , and the content in the parentheses comments to the previous line saying that life and death
occurs all the time in this town. Moreover, many alternated repetition, those

opportunities to achieve increased efficiency. This report will look at the following four main
areas of concern in order to calculate the feasibility of this Merseyside Project: * The cost of

The Transport Division would have to pay nothing if it was included in the initial outlay of the
Merseyside Project, yet the Transport Division would gain the benefits from the project with
extra throughput 2 years early at no cost to them, except increased maintenance of their trucks.
We do acknowledge that this is a big assumption to make saying that the Merseyside project
should not take on any transport costs. Therefore we put in the clause that if taking on the
Merseyside project decreases the NPV of their project we can come to some sort of agreement
over the percentage of costs each division should take for the purchase of the new tank cars.
There is also an agency problem here with the executive VP of Transport Division and
Intermediate Chemicals Group who receive an annual incentive bonus pegged to the
performance of their division. Hence both executive VP s would want to reduce costs as much
as possible and try off load any cost they can to another division. Concerns of the ICG Sales and
Marketing Department The director of sales raised the issue that the company wouldn t be able to
sell the extra output that the project would produce. Instead of selling more units in total the
Liverpool plant would just cannibalize Rotterdam s sales. Therefore the company would not be
able to take full advantage of the efficiencies of the new project. We disagree with the directors
belief that the new sales will all be

Using Temperature Change to Identify Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions
Farah Elnemr

Chemistry Honors
Clinton
Introduction Through change in heat, this experiment was done to recognize exothermic and
endothermic reactions, which both relate back to the topic of thermochemistry. Thermochemistry is
study of energy changes that occur during chemical reactions and state changes. A certain amount
of energy is stored in every substance in bonds. A system and its surroundings are used throughout
the subject of thermochemistry as a whole. A system is the part of the universe being focused on.
The surroundings are everything revolving around the system. In an exothermic reaction, heat
leaves the system and is absorbed by the surroundings, leaving the reaction to seem like it is
heating up. In an endothermic reaction, heat flows from the surroundings and into the system,
leaving the reaction to seem like it is being cooled. Overall, the use of heat change allows the ...

The first and third reactions are categorized as endothermic because there was a decrease in
temperature, resulting in a cooler temperature. In reactions one and three, heat flowed from the
surroundings and into the system, which left the reaction to seem like it was being cooled. The
second and fourth reactions are categorized as exothermic because there was an increase in
temperature, resulting in a warmer temperature. In reactions two and four, heat escaped from the
system and was absorbed by the surroundings, which left the reaction to seem like it was heating
up. Endothermic reactions occur when the system absorbs heat from its surroundings. Exothermic
reactions occur when the system releases heat into the surrounding. Without the subject of
thermochemistry, endothermic and exothermic reactions may be unheard

Maxwell s Equation Essay
INTRODUCTION
Maxwell s Equations are a set of four mathematical equations that provides the foundation to the
largely abstract concepts of electricity and magnetism. They are a mathematical condensation of all
the basic rules, by which electricity and magnetism function. Refer to Figure 1 for the equations.
Although James Clerk Maxwell himself only contributed to the last equation, his contribution led
to one of the most important discoveries in the history of science. However, it wasn t until 25
years later that these equations were interpreted and used rightly by the rest of the world. On the
right is an image of Maxwell.
Maxwell s work as quoted by Einstein:
The formulation of Maxwell s equations is the most important event in physics since Newton s

type of law ... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The equation is actually incomplete, and valid only for a long straight wire. An example to prove
that it s incomplete is given below.
Suppose a pot is taken and the exterior surface is considered the enclosed surface mentioned in the
law, and the circumference of the bottom is considered to be the closed curve. When the equation
uses the term i , it actually means the current enclosed within the path, piercing through the surface.
If the pot were shaped in such a way that the wire carrying current ended inside the pot after
piercing through and coming out, current enclosed would be 0. This either means that dl and the
magnetic field are always perpendicular (cosine 90 = 0), or that the magnetic field itself is 0. Both
are impossible and there lies the contradiction.
MAXWELL S CORRECTION
Maxwell corrected the equation by adding another term to it. Considering the above example, there
is a change in electric field as the current pierces through one surface of the pot and goes out
through the other. This field can be expresses

Women s Rights And Political Regimes
Women s rights have been a historically controversial issues around the world, which is no

have experienced many changes and challenges regarding their rights and freedoms. Women s

The Similarities Between Bollywood And Silent Movies
Bollywood and Silent movies are distinct by their names and styles within each movie. They are
known to be the most popular back in the old days. Bollywood was, and is famous in India,

between two is the dynamics. For the Bollywood, the music is on Forte everytime, loud and strong

public to seek education, and develop a general sense of the Enlightenment to the American public.
Jefferson believed scale and public nature of architecture had the ability to fulfill the aspirations of
a skilled orator, by having the ability to Teach, to Delight, and To Move. When Jefferson began

The construction of the house began in 1768 till 1809, during this time Jefferson was largely

Kill A Mockingbird, By Robert Mulligan And Written For The...
We find the defendant guilty as charged. With these words, a boy lowers his head in
disappointment disappointed at the competence level of his hometown. He watched an entire trial
attentively and implemented his father s teachings; always walk in the other man s shoes, always
be honest and fair, always show compassion; and yet he just saw the most overt form of injustice
the conviction of an innocent man. Suddenly he completes the last steps of the journey to being an
adult.
The context above is undoubtedly clear in the film, To Kill a Mockingbird, directed by Robert
Mulligan and written for the screen by Horton Foote. Set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1932, the
film presents a story of becoming an adult by witnessing injustice in the South. The story in
narrated by six year old Jean Louise Scout Finch (Mary Badham). She and her brother Jeremy
Atticus Jem (Phillip Alford) quickly learns that the world is not always fair, after their father,
Atticus (Gregory Peck), loses a case where an African American man named Tom Robinson (Brock
Peters) is falsely accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell (Collin Wilcox). The film To Kill
a Mockingbird is very thematic; however, the most relatable theme is the journey into adulthood
and it is greatly present in the lynch mob at the jail and the trial scenes.
Rebellion the first step Jem took into adulthood. Atticus is asked to come to the jail to protect Tom

result of ILI had transpired in people between the ages of 18 64. Additionally, 22% of
documented ILI hospitalizations among women between the ages of 15 44 (childbearing age)

significant levels of protection associated with vaccination in those 18 64. Initial calculations for

However, individuals who were unemployed, poor, with a yearly income of $30,000 or less, or
without qualifications in regards to education were appreciably more prone to embrace behaviors
resulting in avoidance.7 Preventing influenza transmission and the development of ILI appears
clear cut with the proven preventive techniques. However, there are numerous aspects
associated with health related behaviors and perceptions that should be considered as well.
Researchers proposed a predictive model of unequal levels of influenza and mortality during a
pandemic would be influenced by social factors. These determinants included crowded
households, reliance on public transportation, and the inability to request time off from work. It
was hypothesized that greater levels of crowding and increased prevalence of various types of
employment among distinct groups of the population could possibly lead to inequalities in
exposure to the virus. Difficulty associated with avoiding shared means of transportation could
be an additional inequality in relation to the causative agent. Missing work, if employed as a
policy for social distancing during the time of a pandemic, would very likely, present more
challenges for lower income workers, as they would be less able to account for the ensuing loss of
wages. At the start of the pandemic, the CDC recommended people with ILI stay

Betrayal In The Chronicles Of Narnia
According the Merriam Webster dictionary, to betray is to deliver to an enemy by treachery , or
to give information about (a person, group, country, etc.) to an enemy . Betrayal is the result of
many factors, including feelings of morality, greed and gluttony, and fear. In The Chronicles of
Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe , both the original novel and the 2005 movie,
betrayal is shown to be natural behaviour that can fortify relationships and teach people to forgive.
Firstly, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe demonstrates that betrayal is common behaviour

Because betrayal can be instigated by variegated circumstances, it can be considered to be normal
behaviour. The aftermath of betrayal includes forgiveness, which shows understanding between

people closer to removing those obstacles and becoming closer. Additionally, people who have
been betrayed learn to forgive through others who set examples, and by learning to accept reality.
The lesson learned is that people need to accept that betrayal is natural, and not always completely
unjustified. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe may cause the audience to look at betrayal in a

Value At Risk And Risk Management
Value at Risk Framework or VAR framework is mainly used for financial risk management or
financial mathematics in measuring the risk element on a definite portfolio of financial assets,
present in any economic organization. This particular portfolio comprises of time event and
probability, which states the threshold of the riskloss value over the period of time. These risk loss
values are assumed to be according to the market to market pricing, no trading and normal market
which contributes in this risk valued portfolio. The risk managementof Value at Riskis done by risk
managers which are responsible for measuring and controlling the risk levels that are present in an
organization. Considering the modern portfolio theory, the third constituent of portfolio is amount
of investment which then creates a mean variance framework risk. This framework risk is defined
in terms of possible variation in the expected portfolio which will describe the risk value loss in
financial assets of an economic organization.
The Value at Risk framework and management help an organization in analyzing the risk loss in the
financial resources, which increase its use in many businesses, organizations and institutions.

Cognitive interview was found to be both more effective and more efficient than standard

The Partition Of India And India
1. The Partition of India is the separation of India that occurred in 1947. This all began as
anticolonial elites in the Indian National Congress Party began to negotiate about a peaceful
transfer of power from the British. WWII caused a crisis in relations between the British, the
Muslim League, and Indian National Conference (Hindu dominated). Ghandi was the leading
figure of the INC. He advocated for a unified Hindu and Muslim Indian, but other officials
however disagreed about what kind of independent state India should have. The Hindus were the
majority, and the Muslims were the minority. There was much debate about which culture would
define the new nation. Up until this point it was the Hindu culture that defined Indian culture. In
1946 riots broke out between the Hindus and Muslims, and the leader of the Muslim League
demanded that British India be partitioned into separate Muslim and Hindu states. So in order to
avoid a civil war, colonial rulers decided to divide the subcontinent in two parts: India and
Pakistan. On August 14th, 1947 Pakistan gained Independence from Britain and one day later
India did as well. Unfortunately after this newfound independence violence broke out. It is
estimated that 1 million Hindus and Muslims killed one another. As a result of the violence, 12
million Hindus and Muslims left their homes to relocate in the new countries where they would be
majority. On January 30, 1948, Gandhi was assassinated for his support of a

For one, he accounts that in dreams, many times he had thought that things external to himself
were real. Also, he had heard people declare pain in limbs that they had lost long ago. After
pondering these two experiences he declared, the chief and most common mistake which is to be

It is a subject object relationship. In order to question something, there must be something to
question, therefore a questionable object exists. And in order for there to be questioning, some
thinking thing, i.e. Descartes, must be doing the questioning, therefore, he exists. Even if the Evil
Genius is constantly deceiving him, that fact that he is being deceived means that he exists. For
this reason, Descartes could not doubt that he was doubting, and thus was able to conclude that
this proposition, I am, I exist, is necessarily true whenever it is put forward by me or conceived in
my mind. (17).
To completely prove his point to the skeptics he had to go further, for how could one realize that he
/she is doubting? Descartes answers that this is possible through natural light intuition. By
establishing that he is a thing that, doubts, questions, thinks, affirms, denies, imagines, and
perceives, through examples, he is able to prove how one could realize his/her doubting.
Descartes gives us the example of the wax that is melted, and the people on the street with coats. If
the wax melts, one still perceives such as wax because the wax is merely something extended,
flexible, and changeable (21). On the street, one could see coats and hats, but one determines that
one is seeing people. This, like the wax, is done through judgement alone, by the intellect alone.
With this, Descartes posits that an

Ionic Compounds Lab Report
Background Ionic compounds and covalent compounds have many similarities and differences.
Ionic compounds are only formed with metals and non metals. Covalent compounds are formed
with non metals. Ionic compounds have an overall neutral charge, but covalent compounds don t
have charge. Ionic compounds are formed when non metals take electrons from metals. This gives
both of them noble gas configuration. Covalent compounds are formed by two non metals sharing
their unpaired electrons, so they can mutually have noble gas configuration. What properties do
compounds form when forming ionic and covalent bonds? Procedure The compounds are placed
in a tray. Tin foil was fit into an empty tray to make the same shape. The compounds were placed
into the tinfoil tray with a scoopula. The tinfoil tray was placed over the metal tray, which was
positioned over the bunsen burner. A timer was then started to time how long it took each
compound to start melting. DI water was then placed into a plastic tray. Each compound was placed
into different holes, and stirred to test its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Salicylic acid, sucrose, paraffin, and sodium stearate are all covalent compounds. The ionic
compounds, on average, took much longer to melt than the covalent compounds did. For example,
sodium chloride did not melt at all, but paraffin melted, on average, in 28 seconds. The ionic
compounds also were more likely to dissolve in the water than the covalent compounds. Sodium
carbonate dissolved in the water, but the salicylic acid did not. The ionic compounds also were
more likely to conduct energy than the covalent compounds. Sodium bicarbonate conducted some
electricity, but sucrose did not. Some exceptions were calcium carbonate, which did not dissolve or
conduct electricity, sodium bicarbonate and copper (II) sulfate, which both melted, and copper (II)

Title: The Failure of Yucca Mountain
Speaker: Michelle Hwang
Specific Purpose: To explain the intended purpose of Yucca Mountain as a potential nuclear waste
repository, and the resulting failure of the project due to government inaction.
Introduction
I.Attention getter:
Imagine your old community swimming pool filled with trash. Now as time passes that trash just
keeps accumulating; what would you do with that trash? Where does it go or more importantly
where can it go? Well, instead of trash imagine nuclear waste. Currently, 122 power plants across
the U.S have spent nuclear fuel and waste that is laying unattended with nowhere to go. Our
government tried to tackle this problem by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1. These dry caskets are then stored at temporary storage units that hold the nuclear waste, but these
storage units are quickly being exhausted due the accumulating amount of waste. 2. The
government wanted to find a solution to this and decided that the proposed solution should not only
prevent leakage of radioactive material into the environment, but also remain in a location for a
period of time that outlives the human civilization.
So, the government took action and passed the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982.
II. Main Idea #2 A. The Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 was the start of establishing a
permanent nuclear disposal site by 1998. 1. The Department of Energy was assigned to study
potential repository sites and to develop a relationship with the nuclear power plants in disposing
the nuclear waste. 2. In 1987 Congress revised the Nuclear Waste Policy Act and made Yucca
Mountain the main permanent repository site and required that the Department of Energy begin
moving the waste from the nuclear reactors to the repository by 1998. It is important to remember
that 1998 was the deadline.
B. Yucca Mountain was the chosen repository site because it was resilient to any leakage, no
environmental factors that could lead to a leakage, and because it was in the middle of a desert
where no human population was near.
1. To fund the program, the Nuclear Waste Fund was created. Since

movements. But those who insist to continue discover very quickly how important it is because
being outdoors means that the child comes in contact with nature. This gives the child a pleasant
touch to everyday life as opposed to the clinical environment (Lechner, H. E et al., 2007) In
contrast to the classical physiotherapy exercises are very different and the child is more
cooperative and not pressed. (Ajzenman, H. F., 2013)
Conclusion: As a result we understand that in Greece there are no adequate facilities for
hippotherapy in contrast with physiotherapy but we cannot ignore the positive impact on the child
psychology as it consists of a little getaway for the child that creates an opportunity for fun and to
be with other children of his age.

In Greece although there are hippo therapy centers, their number is not so great for the target
audience. This is because Hippo therapy is a new method of rehabilitation which started the last
20 years in Greece and is still under development. The therapeutic riding program began in 1983
at the initiative of Aideen Lewis together with a group of children of the Spastic Society in
Equestrian Varympompi Group, in 1992 the S.TH.I.E. (Therapeutic Riding). (GSATRH, 2004)
While abroad in 1952 the Danish Liz Hartel, which was a polio victim since 1940, with partial
paralysis in both legs, won the silver medal horsemanship capacity at the Olympics in Helsinki,
inspiring pioneers of therapeutic riding to organize programs for people with disabilities. Thus,
since the early 50s, physiotherapists began to investigate and use more systematically the rhythmic
movement, which one experiences on horseback. In 1969 A. Kroger, special education teacher,

The Field Of A Medical Office Administration
The field of study I am particularly interested in is Medical Office Administration. Based on my
own research this job involves sitting for long periods of time, requires extensive knowledge of
computers and the ability of multitasking. The roles of this job include effectively managing an
office. They work in a variety of fields ranging from a physician s office to a rest home facility.
There are particular skills needed to do well in this, which include being well organized, good
communication skills, and an understanding of medical terms. This job is more suitable to people
who work well with computertechnology. In addition, someone who is able to pay attention to
details would succeed in this field. I am interested in this field based on the heavy use with
computers and the fact that there is a variety of job options out there. In the Medical Office
Administration field, these types of jobs will be in higher demand as the population continues to
grow.
With this particular job, daily duties will include answering the telephone, scheduling appointments,
organizing medical records, processing insurance forms, etc. Also someone in this field could have
bookkeeping tasks or use spreadsheets. It is necessary to have throughough knowledge of
Microsoft Word, Excel, and also PowerPoint to effectively complete these duties. If any doctor or
other health official needs something done, it is an Administrator s job to effectively complete that.

Queen Gertrude Is Responsible For Ophelia s Death
In Hamlet, William Shakespeare leaves many mysteries for the audience to decipher on their own.
One such, is the mystery surrounding Ophelia s death. Harmonie Loberg, in the article, Queen
Gertrude: Monarch, Mother, Murderer, argues that, Queen Gertrude is responsible for Ophelia s
death (60). The Queen s description of Ophelia s death is controversial because it is so full of
detail, that many believe it must be an eye witness account. Did the Queen kill Ophelia to try and
protect Hamlet? The last scene seems to answer this question, as the Queen shares in the same fate
that befalls all of the other murderers in the play. Ophelia s death is suspicious and should not be
thought of as a suicide, but instead a calculated murder by an overly... Show more content on

When people get an idea in their heads that their leaders are corrupt it can lead to governments
being overthrown. These songs, and the idea that they put into the heads of the people, are
enough to give the Queen a motive to get rid of Ophelia, and her rambling on about the death of
her father and the return of her brother only add to the fire (4.5 29 33, 71). What may keep her
from killing Ophelia at this point is the knowledge that the King has sent Hamlet to England,
where she believes he is safe. The Queen knows Laertes is on his way home and if Hamlet were
to return now, there would be trouble. When Laertes returns he incites a riot, seeking revenge
for his father s murder, he goes after the King. When he finally gains admission to the King he is
very angry and the Queen has to hold him back (4.5. ). Loberg says this is when the Queen
switches from a woman who handles her problems through words, to a woman who starts to
become physical to protect what she views as hers (66). The King and Queen manage to convince
Laertes that the King is not responsible for Polonius s death, but they do not tell Laertes who is
responsible, or at least that is what the Queen

False Superiority In Cinderella
Everything has a unique and individual purpose, whether it be philosophical conjectures, fantasy
stories with brilliant action packed scenes, or even silly children s movies that people disregard as
imaginary nonsense. Unsurprisingly, the story of Cinderella, written by the Grimm brothers, is not
excluded from the vast majority of objects that have a significant purpose and meaning behind
them. In the story Cinderella, numerous didactic lessons, meaningful morals, and thought provoking
themes are conveyed to the reader, including the conceptof false superiority, the idea of what being
kind despite difficult circumstances may lead to, and the widely believed in notion of karma. To
begin, the tale of Cinderella s upbringing and the people surrounding her portray the concept of
false superiority, which is the idea that people think they are superior as a result of superficial
characteristics when, in reality, they are inferior in a myriad of ways. For instance, Cinderella s
stepsisters exemplify false superiority because even though they were beautiful with fair faces,
they had evil and dark hearts (page 1). Furthermore, when Cinderella stood up, the prince looked
into her face, and he recognized the beautiful girl who had danced with him (page 6). This quote
depicts how societal standards for beauty and
Clarno 2 superiority are not accurate measures of self worth, for Cinderella was unquestionably the
true beauty from the prince s perspective. Moving on,

The Relationship Between Marijuana And Depression
By: Tyler Thomas
The relationship between Cannabis sativa (marijuana) and depression has been a primary concern
to research scientists. However, the actual relationship remains double edged as different scholars
have made conflicting conclusions regarding the relationship. A focus has been on the
cannabinoids, a group of chemicals that confer the impacts of the plant on the users.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main active pharmacological constituent of marijuana and the
point of interest for the researchers to discern the relationship between marijuana and depression in
the users. In particular, studies try to find the impact of THC on the cannabinoid receptor (CB) 1.
The receptor is located in the peripheral as well as the central nervous system. THC is an agonist of
the CB1, which forms the point of influence of the marijuana on the nervous system.
The primary concern of researchers is to understand the impact of marijuana on occurrence on
depression. Also, there should be an elaboration on how such an interaction increases or attenuates
depression in the users. Understanding the relationship between marijuana and depression in users
will be instrumental in diverse perspective. The use of marijuana may be promoted if anti
depressive impact is found. It may lead further research to explore the opportunity. Such may
include pharmacological modifications to treat depressed patients. Otherwise, a negative
relationship would lead to increased studies to be utilized in

  • 2. Reasons For Not Accepting Acts As A Historical Record Consider Paul, and you will see that our being mortal brings us the greatest benefits (Chrysostom, NCE p216). Mortality means being subject to death, and this is a result of the human race not being perfect; not being consistent. When observing ancient accounts of what occurred, it is necessary to remember the mortality of all people, and the inevitable debates that will arise over discrepancies in different sources citing the same instance. Paul of Tarsus is a man who s life is highly debated, I, however, would argue that though Paul was once a Jewish leader, he experienced a conversion and helped start the new Jesus movement. He then preached what he believed about Jesus to anyone, despite much controversy. In order to dive into these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another argument for the validity of Acts is that Luke was inseparable from Paul (NCE p186 Irenaeus). Many times throughout Acts the author, presumably Luke, says we , referring to the fact that he was with Paul throughout the book (the we passages in Acts include Acts 16:10 17, 20:5 15, 21:1 18, and 27:1 28:16). Surely if the author was there, it is a reliable view, yet different perspective, of what occurred in Paul s life. Other important and reliable sources from the Bible are Paul s epistles. Many say that theses undisputed letters present a seemingly completely different person of Paul than Acts presents, but I am willing to argue that this is simply due to differing perspectives. Two people viewing or living the same thing will almost always result in somewhat different stories. I do not think that there are any contradictions between the two that are big enough to invalidate either of the sources. The final sources I will use are the opinions of both ancient and modern critics, as well as ancient sources. Even Paul s background and the basis of who he was is heavily debated. According to Acts 22:3, Paul was born in Tarsus, but raised and educated in Jerusalem by the pharisee Gamaliel. As he was raised in the Jewish church, he became a prominent Jewish leader, with his main focus on persecuting those who followed Jesus (Acts 8:1 3, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thayer s Microcosm Of Culture In discussing Dartmouth s landscape, we primarily stuck to the center of campus: the Green, Dartmouth Hall, Baker Library, etc. On the way west side of campus, Thayer promptly sits, hidden by the trees on the south side of Tuck Drive. As Pierce K. Lewis explains, if one part of the country looks substantially different from some other part of the country, then the chances are very good that the cultures of the two places are different also. We know that Dartmouth is not a country, but in essence it has many qualities to resemble one an administration (government), employees (faculty and staff), taxpayers (students), states (different academic major buildings). • 4. Magnolia Paul Thomas Anderson Essay After viewing and an examination of one of Paul Thomas Anderson success film Magnolia , I have analysed that Anderson uses multiple themes involving regret and loneliness in the film which is connected to auteur theory. What I am going to examine is: How were the themes and the characters are related? How did Anderson s filmtechniques affect in the film? And why did Anderson use his similar style within the film? These questions are to give an understanding that focuses mainly on auteur theory in the film. The film takes place in San Fernando Valley where it revolves around eleven characters about their stories in one particular day. These stories have a little connection with each other as it involves dealing with their past and having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film techniques he uses in most of his films is symmetry, the whip pan and the steadicam. In Magnolia , the steadicam was used when Stanley, the quiz kid is guided through the TV studio. It lasted for about three minutes. This technique was used to show the characters interaction within the studio. Compare to Hard Eight , Anderson uses his steadicam to follow Sydney, a man in his 60s walking in the casino, where you are not only focus on him but you see the other characters interactions in the background. The symmetry shot was used when two people are talking to each other in their opposite sides. In Magnolia , we can see Frank and the woman interviewer talking to each other in their opposite sides, hence it s called a symmetry shot. Anderson used this shot to create a sense of tranquility but also a sense of anxiety of the characters. The famous whip pan technique that Anderson used in Magnolia creates an effective fast paced atmosphere as he uses the inter cuts between the characters to show the impact of ... • 5. Argumentative Essay On Metal Music Metal music: Noise pollution of today Metal music is a genre of rock music that developed in the late sixties and early seventies. It is characterized by its loud distorted guitars, dense bass and drum sound and vigorous vocals. Because of its different and a bit aggressive sound, metal music is not everyone s cup of tea. Sadly, metal community is often faced with a lot of stereotypical opinions. The most widespread stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are about the devil and hell. One more stereotypical opinion is that all metal songs are just pointless screaming. All these stereotypes are wrong because metal music has a very wide range of lyrical themes and, next to usual loud songs, there are also some very nice and emotional ballads. Only problem with metal music is the fact that this kind of music is often associated with drugs, alcohol and violence. It is true that some metal fans consume drugs and alcohol, but that does not mean that all fans of metal music should be categorized as drug addicts and alcoholics because those people s addiction is a result of their bad choices and it has nothing to do with the music they listen to. Talking about violence is pointless because if you compare a metal concert with a football game you will see that metal fans... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The plant ended up cutting the cost per barrel from $3.00 to $1.25 and saving Standard Oil around $4,000,000 per year (John D. Rockefeller and the Standard Oil Company). Twenty wagons were purchased by 1868 to more cheaply move the oil. A warehouse was built on the Hudson and East River in New York City and Standard Oil had their own boats to transport the oil. They were also the first to transport the oil via tank cars and invested in a fleet of them. All of these moves were vertical integration steps that reduced the production costs of Standard Oil. Since Standard Oil was so large, it became economical to build a plant to create products from the waste of the refining of Kerosene. They produced lubricating oil that replaced lard for machinery. They used the gasoline as fuel instead of dumping it into the Cuyahoga River like some competitors had been doing. Consequently, the Cuyahoga had frequently caught fire. Paraffin was another byproduct that they manufactured because it was insoluble in water could be used for making candles and waterproofing goods. Authors often use parentheses to make comment and emphasize a point, so in Cummings casual, he adds a large amount of comments to his content. The project has an initial outlay of GBP12 million to renovate and rationalise the polypropylene production line at Merseyside plant. This is done in order to make up for deferred maintenance and exploit opportunities to achieve increased efficiency. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Transport Division would have to pay nothing if it was included in the initial outlay of the Merseyside Project, yet the Transport Division would gain the benefits from the project with extra throughput 2 years early at no cost to them, except increased maintenance of their trucks. We do acknowledge that this is a big assumption to make saying that the Merseyside project should not take on any transport costs. Therefore we put in the clause that if taking on the Merseyside project decreases the NPV of their project we can come to some sort of agreement over the percentage of costs each division should take for the purchase of the new tank cars. There is also an agency problem here with the executive VP of Transport Division and Intermediate Chemicals Group who receive an annual incentive bonus pegged to the performance of their division. Hence both executive VP s would want to reduce costs as much as possible and try off load any cost they can to another division. Concerns of the ICG Sales and Marketing Department The director of sales raised the issue that the company wouldn t be able to sell the extra output that the project would produce. Instead of selling more units in total the Liverpool plant would just cannibalize Rotterdam s sales. Therefore the company would not be able to take full advantage of the efficiencies of the new project. We disagree with the directors belief that the new sales will all be ... Report For Exothermic Lab Report Using Temperature Change to Identify Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions Farah Elnemr 6/9/16 Chemistry Honors Clinton Introduction Through change in heat, this experiment was done to recognize exothermic and endothermic reactions, which both relate back to the topic of thermochemistry. Thermochemistry is study of energy changes that occur during chemical reactions and state changes. A certain amount of energy is stored in every substance in bonds. A system and its surroundings are used throughout the subject of thermochemistry as a whole. A system is the part of the universe being focused on. The surroundings are everything revolving around the system. In an exothermic reaction, heat leaves the system and is absorbed by the surroundings, leaving the reaction to seem like it is heating up. In an endothermic reaction, heat flows from the surroundings and into the system, leaving the reaction to seem like it is being cooled. Overall, the use of heat change allows the ... • 17. Maxwell s Equation Essay INTRODUCTION Maxwell s Equations are a set of four mathematical equations that provides the foundation to the largely abstract concepts of electricity and magnetism. They are a mathematical condensation of all the basic rules, by which electricity and magnetism function. Refer to Figure 1 for the equations. Although James Clerk Maxwell himself only contributed to the last equation, his contribution led to one of the most important discoveries in the history of science. However, it wasn t until 25 years later that these equations were interpreted and used rightly by the rest of the world. On the right is an image of Maxwell. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The equation is actually incomplete, and valid only for a long straight wire. An example to prove that it s incomplete is given below. Suppose a pot is taken and the exterior surface is considered the enclosed surface mentioned in the law, and the circumference of the bottom is considered to be the closed curve. When the equation uses the term i , it actually means the current enclosed within the path, piercing through the surface. If the pot were shaped in such a way that the wire carrying current ended inside the pot after piercing through and coming out, current enclosed would be 0. This either means that dl and the magnetic field are always perpendicular (cosine 90 = 0), or that the magnetic field itself is 0. Both are impossible and there lies the contradiction. MAXWELL S CORRECTION Maxwell corrected the equation by adding another term to it. Considering the above example, there is a change in electric field as the current pierces through one surface of the pot and goes out through the other. This field can be expresses ... • 41. Explication of the Cogito Essay Explication of the Cogito In his Meditations, Rene Descartes attempts to prove the existence and reality of himself and things external to himself. In order to fulfill such a feat, Descartes decides to doubt all that he knows, for he knows not whether that can be relied upon. He doubts his knowledge for three main reasons. For one, he accounts that in dreams, many times he had thought that things external to himself were real. Also, he had heard people declare pain in limbs that they had lost long ago. After pondering these two experiences he declared, the chief and most common mistake which is to be found here consists in my judging that the ideas which are in me resemble, or conform to, things outside me (Descartes 16). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a subject object relationship. In order to question something, there must be something to question, therefore a questionable object exists. And in order for there to be questioning, some thinking thing, i.e. Descartes, must be doing the questioning, therefore, he exists. Even if the Evil Genius is constantly deceiving him, that fact that he is being deceived means that he exists. For this reason, Descartes could not doubt that he was doubting, and thus was able to conclude that this proposition, I am, I exist, is necessarily true whenever it is put forward by me or conceived in my mind. (17). To completely prove his point to the skeptics he had to go further, for how could one realize that he /she is doubting? Descartes answers that this is possible through natural light intuition. By establishing that he is a thing that, doubts, questions, thinks, affirms, denies, imagines, and perceives, through examples, he is able to prove how one could realize his/her doubting. Descartes gives us the example of the wax that is melted, and the people on the street with coats. If the wax melts, one still perceives such as wax because the wax is merely something extended, flexible, and changeable (21). On the street, one could see coats and hats, but one determines that one is seeing people. This, like the wax, is done through judgement alone, by the intellect alone. With this, Descartes posits that an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Covalent compounds are formed with non metals. Ionic compounds have an overall neutral charge, but covalent compounds don t have charge. Ionic compounds are formed when non metals take electrons from metals. This gives both of them noble gas configuration. Covalent compounds are formed by two non metals sharing their unpaired electrons, so they can mutually have noble gas configuration. What properties do compounds form when forming ionic and covalent bonds? Procedure The compounds are placed in a tray. Tin foil was fit into an empty tray to make the same shape. False Superiority In Cinderella Everything has a unique and individual purpose, whether it be philosophical conjectures, fantasy stories with brilliant action packed scenes, or even silly children s movies that people disregard as imaginary nonsense. Unsurprisingly, the story of Cinderella, written by the Grimm brothers, is not excluded from the vast majority of objects that have a significant purpose and meaning behind them. In the story Cinderella, numerous didactic lessons, meaningful morals, and thought provoking themes are conveyed to the reader, including the conceptof false superiority, the idea of what being kind despite difficult circumstances may lead to, and the widely believed in notion of karma. To begin, the tale of Cinderella s upbringing and the people surrounding her portray the concept of false superiority, which is the idea that people think they are superior as a result of superficial characteristics when, in reality, they are inferior in a myriad of ways. For instance, Cinderella s stepsisters exemplify false superiority because even though they were beautiful with fair faces, they had evil and dark hearts (page 1). Furthermore, when Cinderella stood up, the prince looked into her face, and he recognized the beautiful girl who had danced with him (page 6).
