Firstly I changed the colour of the background
for my front cover so it gave it more of an ‘indie
effect’ and added a bit of colour instead of just
having plain white.
I then lassoed my image that I decided on, out so
that the background to the image I had taken
was clear, I did this so you can see the grey
background that I applied. Also I did this because
the background that was already on the image
was not effective to use on a music magazine
cover.

3. Masthead/cover lines and barcode
Next I added my masthead and my cover lines to the front
cover, I used different colours and fonts to do this. I also
changed the size of my writing to show the different parts of
the front cover. I made my masthead bigger and bolder than the
rest to show that it is the title of the magazine and what people
look for when looking in the shop for a music magazine. I then
alternated the colours of my cover lines between black and red
which also begins the running theme throughout the rest of the
pages. I also added my barcode at this point with the price, date
and website added to the side of it. I made this small at the
bottom so that the rest of the cover lines could fit in. I made it
small but big enough for the audience to read when looking for
the price of the magazine.

4. Flash and footer
Next I added a flash to my magazine and a footer. I added the flash to make it look more like a magazine and I placed this
at the top so everyone can see that it is the first every issue and ‘The future of music’ which may entice people to buy it as
it is also in a black bubble. I then added a footer to the bottom of my magazine to show the extra things that are in the
magazine. This highlights how much is included in the magazine.
I then made my final adjustments to make the magazine effective for the audience.
