Cooperative learning involves dividing students into small teams of varying abilities and having them use different learning activities to improve their understanding of a subject. Each team member is responsible for helping their teammates learn to create an atmosphere of achievement. Key elements of cooperative learning include positive interdependence, individual accountability, equal participation among all team members, and simultaneous interaction within teams.
