2. Front cover:
Large dominant masthead with large, clear typography-in white which in this
case contrasts the subject in the main images deep red hair. This makes it
stand out.
Simplistic colour scheme-red hair becomes part of colour scheme
and contrasts the white so the main colour scheme is red and
white-this avoids confusion and adds a quality affect.
Main image somewhat uses celebrity endorsement to attract
target audience-with a music magazine it will always be an
artist or band that fits within the magazine’s musical genre. The
image is clear and entices target audience of whom should be
interested in the band/artist in the main image. The main
image will always take up the majority of the front page.
Eye-contact is made. By the close up shot and subject
looking into the lens of the camera the audience feel
connected to the image and therefore are more likely
to buy it.

3. Contents Page.

magazine colour scheme. This makes it easy to find
desired article.

understand contents of each article and find
your desired article by use of page numbers.
Main image-highlights and presents a
picture of a featured artist or band at some
point in the magazine. The image is clear
and takes up around ¼ of the page
depending on size of typography and
number of other supporting images.
The contents page sticks to a continuous colour
scheme throughout the entire page.
Other images presenting bands or artists that
also feature in the magazine at some pint. Their
picture is accompanied by a page number of
which you will find the article they feature in.

4. The headline, suggests what the article is going to consist of.
This is the boldest and largest typography on the page and
also fits into the colour scheme of the magazine. The sub-heading
is also bigger typography than the rest of the article.
There are always drop capitals at the start of the
article-emphasising the first letter of the first
word. It enables the reader to know where the
start of the article is.
Quotations are also present in the article. This gives the
point of view of the person being described or someone of
high authority in the music industry.
Main image- there's always a main image of someone
or something that supports the contents of the
audience. This will be large and clear and can also
spread across the double page.
Other Images-Sometimes
the double page spread will
have more images of the
subject being described in
the article. This engages the
audience more as It visually
incorporates the text with
the subject.
The writers name should also be
present on the double page
spread. This distinguishes various
writers and their articles.
Page numbers should also be present. This
supports the contents page so if someone looked
at the contents page and wanted to find a specific
article, they could look for the page number. It
should be present in small typography at the
bottom of every page in the magazine.
