Computer graphics are graphics created using computers. They are used in films and cartoons, games, medical imaging, computer-aided design, and scientific visualization. There are three main stages of computer graphics: the application stage, geometry stage, and rasterization stage. Basic graphics definitions include points, vertices, edges, rendering, and framebuffers. Points represent locations in 2D or 3D space, sometimes denoting a single pixel. Vertices are points in 3D, and edges are lines connecting two vertices. Rendering is the process of generating an image from a 3D model, and a framebuffer drives a video display from pixel color data.
