This paper presents a comparative study of three methods for starting 3-phase induction motors—Direct-On-Line (D.O.L.), Star-Delta, and Soft Starter—using MATLAB Simulink to analyze their characteristics. The study reveals that while D.O.L. has the highest starting current and torque, the Soft Starter method significantly reduces starting current and increases efficiency, despite higher costs. Ultimately, the findings suggest that Soft Starters provide superior performance and safety compared to traditional methods.
