Paparazzi Go Too Far
When the Paparazzi Go Too Far 1. Introduction Everyone who is interested in pop culture and the
entertainment industry knows who the paparazzi are. According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, the
term paparazzi is defined as a free lance photographer who aggressively pursues celebrities for the
purpose of taking candid photographs. The term actually came from a film from the 1960 s called La
Dolce Vita , directed by Federico Fellini. A character in the film was a news photographer named
Paparazzo. Paparazzi target celebrities and public figures that are in the spotlight. In recent years, the
paparazzi have taken their job of snapping photos to another extent. They will go to any length to get
the shot of a celebrity, even if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, the paparazzi chose to take pictures of the dying princess during her last few moments alive.
Princess Diana had two sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, that were ages 12 and 15 when She
died. It was said that the three paparazzi that were taking the photos were charged by French officials
but in 2002 the charges were dropped (13). Can you imagine how it felt for them not only to lose their
mother but to see the photos of their mother laying on a gurney, cut up and trying to cling on to life?
Meanwhile, those paparazzi and their publishers were making a pretty penny from the photographs.
There are other cases of celebrities who have fallen to victims of the paparazzi. Justin Bieber was
involved in an incident where he was driving on freeway 101 in Los Angeles California and 4 to 5
vehicles of paparazzi were following him. As Bieber tried to escape by speeding, the paparazzi stayed
right on his tail. This kind of activity went on for about 15 miles until an officer pulled Bieber over for
speeding. While the officer was proceeding with the citation, the paparazzi took pictures of all the
action. After the officer pulled away and Bieber continued his drive down freeway 101 the paparazzi
returned (2). Bieber had called 911 as he was trying to get away from them he told the dispatcher
about the situation saying, They re being very dangerous, swerving around other cars trying to get

Perception of American Exceptionalism Essay example
Americans through the years of existence have adapted well to the radical changes throughout the
world. Technology, independence and social equality are some of the diverse concepts the United
States have adapted to and developed in order to become a more unified country. Our nation believes
that it is exceptional when it comes to other countries worldwide. As can be shown through the
popular reference to America as the shining city on a hill . The term American exceptionalism is
derived from ideals held by many Americans throughout history. Different people have analyzed
American exceptionalism through multiple literary devices. Works such as A Model of Christian
Charity, What is an American and Acres of Diamonds illustrate the ... Show more content on

But if we shall neglect...shall fall to embrace this present world and prosecute our carnal intentions,
seeking great things for ourselves and our posterity, the Lord will surely break out in wrath against us
(Winthrop, 20). This idea that the Christian deity is somehow connected to America s greatness can be
found in Conwell s work, albeit used in a different manner. Like Winthrop, Russell Conwell, author of
Acres of Diamonds, stresses how great America is with emphasis that it somehow ordained from a
higher power. However, Winthrop focuses maintaining this status through unselfish means while
Conwell uses this as a way to establish individual success. There never was a place on earth more
adapted than the city of Philadelphia to day, and never in the history of the world did a poor man
without capital have such an opportunity . . . Because to make money honestly is to preach the gospel
(Conwell, 179). His argument that Philadelphia is the greatest city on earth ties in with the concept of
American exceptionalism. The connection he makes with religion is contrasted to Winthrop since
Winthrop argues that America will lose its exceptionality if it does not avoid selfish actions. Conwell
argues that God is placing America in such a place that every person has the ability to acquire
individual wealth. Though Conwell focuses on the city of Philadelphia, his arguments can be applied
to a more general sense in America. His statement that

Factors Influencing Nursing Among Nurses
Title: Factors influencing professionalism in nursing among nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia.
INTRODUCTION
Statement of the problem
Healthcare organizations in Saudi Arabia are very dependent on expatriate nurses to meet the demands
of health staffing, a situation exacerbated by the current global nursing shortages and retention issues
(Almalki, Fitzgerald, Clark, 2011). I propose to study the factors that influence the professionalism in
nursing amongst nurses from different countries in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. I am particularly
interested in this field as I have encountered nurses behaving unprofessionally in a hospital setting.
According to Miller, Adams and Beck (1993), formal education in a university setting and education
with a scientific background are critical for professionalism in nursing. A study done by Rees,
Monrouxe, and McDonald (2015), expressed that while nursing students are shown professionalism
through formal educational module, they ordinarily encounter workplace based professionalism
dilemmas that are frequently created by registered nurses. Peer relationships in nursing is also
important in maintaining the standards of professionalism (Padgett, 2013).
Purpose of the study
The purpose of the study is to determine the factors influencing professionalism in nursing among
nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Theoretical framework
The theoretical framework that I would use in this research paper is the Hall s

Criticisms Of The Distributive Model In Social Justice

Criticisms of the Distributive Model in Social Justice Iris Marion Young takes on a strong position
surrounding the notion of a distributive model within the realm of social justice in Justice and The
Politics of Difference. She does not believe the distributive model truly encompasses the issues within
social justice, but rather limits social justice to the fair and just distribution of advantage and strain
amongst the members of society. The distributive model fails to acknowledge the process that limits
the distribution of human rights to society s members, thus lacking the means to evoke change. Young
takes on a position that focuses on the process of domination and oppression within society and how
that should be the primary focus when trying to understand social justice. The distributive paradigm or
model that Young refers to in her book defines social justice as the morally proper distribution of
benefits and burdens among society s members (Young 16). In that regard, social justice is being
viewed as the distribution of material goods, resources, and other means of economic advancement.
Social justice is much broader and goes far deeper than simply defining who gets what. While the
distribution of resources, wealth, and material goods is an important factor when thinking about social
justice, it should not be the center of discussion. The distribution of such things comes first from the
initiation of a social system that defined who was worthy of receiving resources in life. To think that
social justice is solely about the distribution of wealthy possessions, ignores the fact that there are
social structures that have been put into place in order to control the distribution. In a sense, the
distributive model only acknowledges the effects of the issue and not the cause. By only focusing on
the distribution of wealth, resources, income, and jobs in society, the distributive model leaves out the
way social constructions of race and class have allocated the distribution of such possessions. There
are institutions within society that are controlling the distribution of various material things in society,
and have been put in

Collateral Duty Inspector Essay
In the aviation side of the Navy there is a job known as Collateral Duty Inspector. The Collateral Duty
Inspector is considered a subject matter expert on the aircraft they work on. In order to become a
Collateral Duty Inspector a sailor must go through extensive training and meet certain requirements.
As a sailor looking to make the Navy a career until retirement, becoming a Collateral Duty Inspector
was a major goal of mine.
I was on deployment with my second command VAW 126 on board the aircraft carrier Harry S.
Truman when I started the process. As a prospective Collateral Duty Inspector, I was working nights
from 1800 to 0600. I would spend most of the night with my supervisor Palar learning what to do and
what to look for. He would have me follow him as he inspected other sailors work and point out to me
what he inspected and what needed to be corrected by the worker if any. ... Show more content on

The first test was on corrosion control and theory. Corrosion control and theory consist of being able
to identify the different types of corrosion and how they affect and form on the aircraft. The second
test was on the Naval aviation maintenance program. The Naval aviation maintenance program is the
basic guidelines on how a Navy squadron will operate. The test requires you to know who is
responsible for certain jobs throughout the command and what your responsibilities are as a Collateral
Duty Inspector. This test is the most difficult due to the large amount of information in the program.
The third, and final test is the rating specific test. This test is made up of different scenarios a sailor in
a specific rate might come across during their time as an inspector. Also including in the test is the
ability to find the correct answer to certain problems and procedures for the aircraft in the

Essay on slyvia plath
Sylvia Plath s quot;Mirror, quot; shows a truly thoughtful look into the different sights and feelings a
mirror would have if it were a live conscious being, unable to lie. By showing the thoughts and
emotions that a mirror would emit, Plath makes you look inward towards how you present yourself
not only to your mirror but also to yourself. This is an eye opening poem because of its truthful
descriptions of the relationship between the inner feelings of people and how their outward
appearances that they portray of themselves affect them in and out of the public realm. Examples of
this are put throughout the poem quot;Mirror, quot; and can be found in just about every line of the
poem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next section of the poem introduces a woman into the life of the mirror. She look toward the
mirror seeking to find what she truly wants to discover (beauty), and the mirror truthfully reflects back
to her what it sees. She turns from the reflection as if to look for the quot;truth quot; in something else,
not excepting what she has just seen. Unable to find it, the mirror sees her agitation and depression
after seeing her true self within it. She is always looking into the mirror to make sure everything is
perfect and to put everything in it s place, so to speak. In this the mirror, as the years seemingly pass,
sees the young girl transform from her youth into an old woman and lose all that she has fretted over
and over about throughout her life. Each day, she is reminded by the mirror of her lost youth and
beauty that was once projected back at her so faithfully.
The mirror in the poem is a representation of the truths in life that as a person is difficult to come to
terms with in one s self. The woman s view of herself and her reluctance to accept her natural and God
given beauty, shows how we all (as a society or as an individual) find it hard to accept ourselves for
who we truly are. How we try to make ourselves into a conformed object of quot;popular beauty quot;
based upon our outward appearance, instead of going by how our personal feelings that come from
within us.

It s hard to imagine having your entire family murdered as a young kid, living in a century where war
attacks were in every corner. This was the life of the young boy in the story The Painted Bird.
Although the author, Jerzy Kosinski, never confirmed the book as an autobiography, it was easy to feel
the pain as if he experienced it himself. The Painted Bird is a heartfelt novel that gives us all a glimpse
into the dark reality of our past. The author is able to walk us through what I believe was his life. We
are lead through a series of trauma the young boy experienced. The boy shares the dark reality that
anyone that is that vulnerable can be tortured, abused and killed by anyone, including family. The boy
s tragic life is a testimony of how terrifying life was like during the world war. Nevertheless, it seems
as though life was just a bit tougher for him because he was different. Life can be difficult for many
people, but it is undeniable that being different can affect the way others view you. *Such life was

such works sum up the universal trauma of war in a myth of unrivaled concentration and clarity.

Drought In The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl drought was the worst in U.S. history that was around 1930. It was in the mid west
where it covered sixty percent of the country. Millions of people had to move to other parts because it
lasted four years. It was at its peak in 1934 according to National Climate Data Center . We already
have a lot of drought in California and west although one might say it is all of the U.S. With little rain
and high tempatures in the summers drys out the vegatation which become a hazard for fires. Global
warming might have some to do with the problem of drought. High populations need more water, with
more water being used, depletes resources of water supplies which causes drought also. People need to
become more aware of the use of the use of water, a lot of people take it for granite that there is plenty

Methods Of Birth Control
Birth control is a way for men and women to prevent pregnancy. There are many different methods of
birth control, including hormonal contraception such as the birth control pill.
Women take the pill by mouth to prevent pregnancy, and, when taken correctly, it is up to 99.9%
effective. However, the pill does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV (the

Juveniles Should Be Sent To Adult Prison
There are a lot of people out there who commit crimes, people of different race and age. I
agree that at whatever age that the crime is committed that the punishment should be the same for
every criminal. Everyone has different opinions on whether juveniles or teens should be sent to adult
prison and my opinion is that they should be sent to adult prison. I have my reasons for saying this.
When adults commit a crime they know what they are doing, they know what they are getting
themselves into, and they know what possible punishment they could get. When teens commit a crime
they have just as much responsibility as an adult has when committing a crime. As Marjie Lundstrom
says in Kids are Kids , They are kids that is, until they foul up. Until they commit crimes. And the
bigger the crime, the more eager we are to call them adults. In this quote I believe her words because
there are some kids out there that do worse crimes than adults and there are kids that commit crimes
when some adults don t commit crimes at all. Kids are kids until they commit crimes.
Age doesn t matter when either adults or teens are committing a crime because either way a crime was

Win Approach Research Paper
According to our textbook, healthy relationships allow us to gain an overall better quality of life. They
lead to many beneficial attributes, such as, a longer lifespan, a more determined mindset, an active
lifestyle, a stronger support system, and an educated mentality. Whereas, individuals who display a
poor emotional tone in relationships experience the opposite. For instance, they get a poor quality of
sleep, they have little to no motivation to carry out tasks, and overall they lead a much more negative
lifestyle than those who portray a healthier tone in relationships.

When managing interpersonal conflicts the best possible outcome would be attainable by using the
Win Win method because it is able to accommodate the individual needs of all parties involved in a
conflict. The most logical reason as to why this is one of the most effective ways when it comes to
relieving disagreements is because it requires you to understand the others underlying meanings in
their evident messages. Contrasting the Win Win approach, there are three other less successful
techniques in order to sway a conflict. A Win Lose situation is when one individual/group gets their
aspirations granted, while the other individual/group suffers an absolute loss. Also, in a conflict that
practices the Lose Lose technique is when neither of the two individuals involved is satisfied with the
outcome. The last optional method employed in a conflict is compromising. This is a way for both
individuals involved to have only some of their requests met. Meanwhile, each individual separately
forgoes the remainder of his or her requests. However, sometimes the Win Win approach is not always
attainable or realistic, so one may opt for the next best approach, compromise. This is often
implemented when there is not enough time/desire to understand each other s wants. Also, when the
other party involved is clearly noncompliant in employing a Win Win problem solving method, we
may stray more toward the decision to compromise

That the biggest amphibious invasion of beaches, Codenamed Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword,

The History and Function of the Condom
Introduction
The condom is a barrier device that is used since ancient times. Many couples do not want to get
pregnant but still want to have sexual intercourse. In this circumstance, one way is to wear a condom.
AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), is a pandemic that caused 36 million deaths
worldwide (citation: UNAIDS.org, 2012) caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). One of
the reasons why it spread so quickly is because of sexual contact. The men s body fluid (semen) is
spread into the women s body, which means the woman is also contracted with AIDS. But with the
help of the condom, the number of people newly infected by AIDS greatly reduced. The condom does
not stop AIDS, it stops AIDS from spreading.
Throughout history, there are many different types of condoms, from the earliest leather condoms, to
rubber, and now the Polyisoprene (Natural rubber). The most commonly used is the 1920 Latex
Condom, which is the one I will focus on in this essay. How the condom works
Human reproduction works when an erect penis is inserted into the vagina and the man thrust it in and
out until ejaculation occurs. The semen (liquid that includes sperm and other liquid) is released into
the vagina. The sperm travels along the vagina and meets the egg, where the sperm fertilizes the egg.
The sperm and egg forms a zygote. The zygote later forms into an embryo cell and is implanted onto
the endometrium (the uterus wall); this is the beginning of pregnancy. (Y9 Reproduction

Both outlets are profitable with growing market bases. Managers at each location are currently paid a
base salary, and receive a year end bonus which is five percent of total profits produced by both
outlets combined. Aliya has just finished a workshop on strategic business unit evaluation, and wants
to change the evaluation and reward structure, hoping to motivate the two managers to produce greater
revenue and profit. Required: What type of evaluation mechanisms should she propose for the two
managers?
Answer:
There is significant difference between the two SBUs in revenue and asset size. Additionally, the
assets of the two outlets are very different in age and book value. Return on investment (ROI) has the
advantage over residual income (RI) of being reported as a percentage, which allows for comparison
of different sized units.
A more difficult problem is the dramatic difference in the age of the two outlets asset bases. Use of
gross or net book value for both units would distort comparative results; current market value would
be a more appropriate asset base.
Because this is a smaller firm, economic value added (EVA) would probably not significantly improve
comparability results over ROI. Since the two units are so different, consideration should be given to
using separate evaluation techniques for each outlet. The disadvantage of separate outlet evaluation
techniques is that the firm s overall performance

The Positive Relationship Between Violence And Violence In...
Fighting in hockey is often a polarizing topic. Hockey is a unique game, in which fights extract a loud
ovation from the spectators. Fans attend for a variety of reasons. Attendance at NHL games has been
increasing in recent years. Goal scoring and violence are the two main factors fans associate with
professional ice hockey. Violence occurs in hockey through body checks, slashes and the most popular
form, fighting. Violence and fighting have been shown to have a positive impact on attendance.
Violence is measured as the average number of penalty minutes. Penalties are broken down into two
categories: major and minor. The National Hockey League has taken the opposite stance with a fan
favorite attribute, violence, and they have attempted to decrease the amount of fighting through such
rules such as the instigator . The instigator is known as a player whom the officials blame to have
started the fight. Recent research on the National Hockey League (NHL) has focused on treating
violence as a goods characteristic , an attribute of the product deliberately fostered by teams to
generate revenue (Jones, Stewart Sunderman, 1996). Specifically, one goods characteristic hypothesis
is that there is a direct positive relationship between violence and game attendance (Jones, Stewart
Sunderman, 1996). Hence, there is a positive relationship between violence and revenue. The NHL
tolerates more violence than any other league includes the NFL and NBA. However, the

Nineteen Thirty One Analysis
Nineteen Thirty One Echoing the economic difficulties that face the country at large, Ernest Marsh
writes in Walker s Monthly December 1931. It is by wise spending on our own products, which will
help materially in these difficult and anxious times to keep our native crafts alive and active. The
collectors of Vyse pottery can rest assured that their expenditure is justified.4 Marsh, further remarks
on the satisfaction collectors will feel from the acquisition of a Vyse figure or a stoneware vase when
visiting their exhibitions at Walkers Galleries. Furthermore, it was Marsh s opinion that the monetary
expense, mitigated the purchase of a figure of the highest quality, which was of course totally British.

Vyse made sketches and numerous clay models based on this theme, but did not finalise the figure
group until this year. However, this figure group chimes with two previous compositions by Harry
Parr, his Boy and Turkey of 1921 (Fig. 38) and his Chanticleer of 1927 (Fig. 81). It would appear from
the similarity of these designs, and as previously suggested by the author, the game of one up man
ship, by Vyse and Parr, is i the basis for these recurring designs. Whereas Parr established a factual
incident on which to base his first composition, it is unlikely that Vyse could claim a similar
experience. Possibly, that in an attempt to out do his former friend, Vyse, condescended to model a
variation on the concept originated by Parr. If this hypothesis is correct, Vyse, who abhorred such
borrowing by other artists, also stooped to conquer. The Vyses exhibited The Sleeper Awakes

Life Changing Events Happened From New York City
Life changing events happened in New York City. On September 11th, 2001 was without a doubt, one
of the most terrorizing experiences in the history of our Nation. You heard screams of agony from
people who were trying to seek safety for their loved ones. Pillars of smoke filled the sky as innocent
people cried out with agony and hurt of the injured and of people who didn t understand what was
going on. The streets were filled with clouds of dust and debris. The news reporters told of the
gripping story of how terror had struck the very hearts of the American people. Our President, George
W. Bush gave clear and concise demands to the events within a few days following the horrible
attacks on the Twin Towers. The demands that later led to new ACT s being passed by Congress,
would have a drastic change to what we call Civil Liberties. By definition Civil Liberties is the state of
being subjected only to laws that are established for the good of the community, especially in terms of
our freedom of action and speech. When we think of the violation of Civil Liberties we think of those
who are detained under specific verbiage, all the while understanding the Privilege of the Writ of

The Empty Tomb
Between how the empty tomb was discovered, who discovered it, who told the discoverers where
Jesus had gone, there were many differences in these stories details pertaining to this. Another vast
difference came in the reactions to what the storytellers told the disciples and who Jesus appeared to in
regards to getting others to believe what has happened. Matthew 27, the crucifixion was one that is
very familiar to many Christians; this story doesn t often stray from its basis. The one new thing I did
learn was that two rebels were executed with Him and even they cursed Jesus name at the time. One
of my favorite differences between Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were when the message of Jesus
resurrection was told to people. Between the angel, the young man with a white robe, two men in
gleaming robes, or Jesus himself, the stories all came from a different perspective but for the most part
were very similar and that specifically was interesting to research. The angel said to the women, Do
not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has
risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.... In this encounter, Mary and Mary
Magdalene both approached the tomb but was confronted by this angel on the closed tomb who told
them the fate of Jesus. In their quest to inform the disciples of this great news they met with the
presence of Jesus who told them not to be afraid and to tell his brothers to go to Galilee and

In the late 1940s, in which this era had a big impact of change in American society. This time frame

Coq10 Supplements
Many people are skeptical about taking supplements to help maintain a healthy heart and prevent heart
disease and cancer. There are many supplements being sold all over the world. Some of the ones I
found were CoQ10, Fish Oil, Niacin, Hawthorn Berry and Natto K. Before taking any supplements it
is important that you research each product thoroughly.
The first supplement I found was CoQ10 also known as ubiquinone and ubiquinol. CoQ10 is naturally
created. Your body naturally makes small amounts of CoQ10, and your cells use it to produce energy
your body needs for cell growth and maintenance. Even though there is no solid evidence that CoQ10
help prevents heart disease and cancer; some scientist noticed that people with cancer had little ...

Fish Oil contains docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) both which are very
important when it comes to preventing and managing heart disease. Side effects of Fish Oil may
include an upset stomach, loose stools and nausea. There is no scientific studies to support whether or
not Fish Oil actually protects against heart disease and cancer.
Another supplement I found is Niacin. Niacin reduces the risk of heart attack dramatically. Niacin can
be vital in combating heart disease, when used alone or in combination with other treatments such as
fish oil. Some side effects of Niacin are diarrhea, proneness to infections, and liver problems. Though
Niacin reduces the risk of heart attack it does not help with those who suffer from hardened arteries.
Hawthorn Berry has been used to treat heart disease since the first century. Hawthorn Berry contains
Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPCs), which may help cardiovascular health. Hawthorn Berry helps
to dilate blood vessels, improve blood flow and protects the blood vessels from damage. Side effects
of this supplement are very rare but may include headaches, nausea and the feeling of a racing

Zoologist Career Research Paper
The next possible step in being a zoologist is to gain a Doctoral degree in order to teach zoology at a
University or to conduct some self guided research projects with no supervision. Research after the
doctoral level is often used to create new plans for conservation of very specific animal species. This
would be a great goal, but I am not sure if I would like to push myself this far in my educational
lineup as of now, and I would make this option depending on how my life is going at this stage. For
doctorate school, students must carry out their own original research, write a dissertation about it and
orally defend it to department faculty members and peers.
Application to many zoologist job titles is crucial to attaining a job in this

The Feminist Perspective of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Essay
The Feminist Perspective of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
In her feminist critique of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Anne Millard Daughtey described Buffy as a
show which obviously promotes female strength and power (159). Buffy herself is a symbol of female
empowerment (149); as feminists we can all take comfort in the fact that Buffy kicks butt and so can
we all (164). Sherryl Vint agrees that Buffy is a positive role model for young women, one which
feminism should celebrate (para. 3). I find this understanding of Buffy, both the character and the
series, to be very problematic, and with this paper I aim to undertake a revised feminist critique of the
show, and expose the Buffyverse as the product of a very traditional patriarchal ... Show more content

Before Buffy and her friends discover this, Dawn has a number of unnerving experiences, in which
people walk up to her staring, saying There s nothing there, you re not real, there s nothing there .
Truly, in the Buffyverse, there is no such thing as woman .
Prior to embarking upon my own analysis of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it this pertinent to consider
Joss Whedon s envisioning of his series, and in particular, his heroine, Buffy. In interviews he has
often explained his desire to create an alternative ending for the horror movie:
It was pretty much the blond girl in the alley in the horror movie who keeps getting killed ... I felt bad
for her, but she was always much more interesting to me than the other women. She was fun, she had
sex, she was vivacious. But then she would get punished for it. Literally, I just had that image, that
scene, in my mind, like the trailer for a movie what if the girl goes into that dark alley. And the
monster follows her. And she destroys him. (Quoted in Vint, para. 6)
Whilst we see here that Whedon s intention is to subvert the conventional horror movie/slasher genre,
I m not sure that he is successful. He is running the considerable risk of merely replacing the fetishised
female victim with a fetishised female hero; she is still a pretty blond girl, she is still fun, she is still
sexual, she is still Barbie with

are very important to the electronics industry. The incorrect climatic condition could cause devastating

Then it was left in the sun to dry. The goal was to bend the wood into a V shape. After bending six
pieces of wood they were glued together. Leather and rope was also used to hold the wooden V s to
each other. The spokes were composed of two halves, this would form a hexagonal star. While most
wheels consisted of four pieces of wood bent into V s the Egyptians developed the six V wheels. This
was not as strong but was faster and lighter. Which proved to be more efficient in the sandy lands.
While the chariots were not in used the wheels were removed because the weight of the chariot would
bend them into ovals. The process of creating the chariot took much longer than the wheels. They
would use light but strong wood on the platform and sometimes leather. The sides were then
composed of wooden bars and wrapped in leather and stucco. This would make the outer rim strong
and able to resist and arrow. Like the modern car today the chariot had an axle that connected it to the
horse and the chariot. It was attached to a wooden plate in between the two horses. The axle attached
the horse was similar to a trailer hit today. It was attached to a ball allowing it to swivel and move.

Flat Tax Reform
There is an issue that has plagued the United States even prior to the founding of the nation. That issue
is fair taxation. While the American Colonists were being taxed unfairly without parliamentary
representation, average modern Americans are being taxed unfairly without legal representation. Some
believe that the progressive tax code employed by the United States is fair as the wealthy pay a higher
marginal tax rate. The operative word there being marginal. As the upper class typically have a much
lower effective tax rate since they are able to afford tax attorneys who are able to find many
deductions that average citizens are unaware of. Mitt Romney is a prime example of low effective
rates of taxation. According to CNN Money, Mitt Romney ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These range from an increase in labor supply to faster economic growth. Dr. Andreas Peichl wrote an
article detailing the expected results of a flat tax system. He based his expectations upon the various
countries that currently employ such a system. The increase in labor supply can be explained by
following the economic law of supply, which states that the supply of a good will increase as the price
increases. Thus, as taxes are lowered and families are able to bring home more income, more people
are willing to search for work. By stimulating the job market, the economy as a whole will be
stimulated, as more families will have greater expendable incomes. Another effect that a simpler tax
code will have is that more Americans will be able to reap the full benefits of the tax code. By
eliminating itemized deductions taxation becomes more equal. In a chart published by the Tax
Foundation, of those making less than fifty thousand dollars, only eighteen percent made use of
itemized deductions. By simplifying the tax code the rate of compliance would increase. This is caused
by the shrinking of the tax code from seventy thousand pages down to at most ten. In addition to
raising compliance, by simplifying the tax code, it becomes a more equal system of taxation, as each
would pay the same marginal rate, however, due to the generous exemption there would be an
inconsistency between the marginal and

Theu.s. Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform And Consumer...
The pros and cons of many macroeconomic policies are frequently debated. In particular, the
Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that was signed into law in July of 2010
sparked bitter controversy. Appropriately argued by American Banker s Capitol Hill reporter Victoria
Finkle, Dodd Frank is viewed as either a landmark law that reined in the biggest banks or an economy
crippling overreach that burdened small institutions. The Act intends to tighten financial regulation in
the U.S., hoping to prevent the repeat of another financial crisis. Impetus for Dodd Frank stemmed
from the bailout of financial institutions deemed too big to fail and the moral hazard it created. In

Mainly, Dodd Frank equipped the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) with Orderly
Liquidation Authority (OLA) provisions, authorizing the FDIC to safely wind down large and
complex financial firms that are failing. The OLA expects to minimize moral hazard and systemic
risk. Another considerable aspect of Dodd Frank is new rules calling for greater transparency in risky
dealings of exotic financial instruments: derivatives. The aim was to take these transactions out of the
shadows and make them visible to regulators and markets. Dodd Frank also paved the way for
monitoring the insurance industry by establishing a Federal Insurance Office in the Treasury.
Altogether, these were useful steps and tools of Dodd Frank. However, Economist Barry Eichengreen
points out that vesting the Fed with additional regulatory power and responsibility for the stability of
the financial system was a political nonstarter. The recently bailed out AIG was using money provided
by the Fed to pay retention bonuses totaling up to $6.4 million to 73 of its leading employees. Aware
of the bonus payments, the Fed claimed to be powerless in preventing them. Later, a darker fact
revealed that AIG was allowed to pay off obligations to Goldman Sachs using Fed bailout funds. The
Fed knew about these transactions, and even instructed AIG lawyers not to divulge to the Securities
and Exchange Commission (SEC) internal memos authorizing said payments to Goldman Sachs.

into the creation of these shows. Having female workers has been shown to produce more balanced

OF TEXT NECK FROM YOUR SMARTPHONE With technology in the palm of our hands, we are
spending more time glued to our devices these days, and while phones and tablets are convenient, they
are a pain in the neck literally. That pain you feel in your neck, back, or shoulders after staring down

overuse of all handheld electronic devices. Text neck can result in serious health problems including
flattening of the spinal curve, muscle and nerve damage, spinal degeneration, and the onset of early

A Comparison Of Superman And Me By Sherman Alexie
Throughout literature many pieces of work can be compared and contrasted to each other. In
Superman and Me, Sherman Alexie discusses the challenges he faced as a young Indian adult, who
found his passion of reading at an early age, living on the Spokane Indian Reservation. He challenged
the stereotype of the young Indian students who were thought to be uneducated while living on a
reservation. Likewise, in the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory, Richard Rodriguez shares his
similar experience of being a minority and trying to break stereotypes of appearing uneducated. He
shares the details of his life growing up learning a different culture and the struggles he faced
becoming assimilated into American culture. In these two specific pieces of literature discuss the
importance of breaking stereotypes of social and educational American standards and have similar
occupational goals; on the other hand the two authors share their different family relationships.
A large similarity between the two works of literature consist of the journey of breaking certain
standards of education particularly in people of color. In the essay Superman and Me, Alexie grew up
on the Spokane Indian Reservation where to a non Indian adult the expectation of the Indian students
were very low. With these exceptions set at such a low standard the desire to give students a proper
education were extremely limited. The students, as Alexie says, struggled with basic reading, and

The Arab Spring

Submitted on: November 26, 2014 Discuss the structural factors which contributed to the onset of the
Arab Spring in 2011. Based on what you learned about the origins of revolutions in this class, was this
wave of contention inevitable?
The term Arab Spring has emerged in academic literature as well as in the general media from about
early 2011. It refers to the awakening of some Arab nations and the movements to replace
authoritarian regimes with democratic ones. The theme of spring and awakening seems to have been
borrowed from the 1989 reform movements in the former Eastern block nations, such as in the former
German Democratic Republic or Hungary. However, this comparison has been criticised by some
analysts since both the circumstances which have led to these movements as well as the outcome of
these reform efforts seem to differ quite a lot. Yet, the Arab Spring term seems to be still widely used
and even found an extension in the creation of the term Arab Winter which refers to events that
happened in 2012 in some Arab countries during which these reform movements seemed to have
cooled off and particular nations, such as Egypt, attempted to go back to the status quo of the pre 2011
era.
The term Arab Spring has been

Essay On Employee Assistance Programs
Working with Employee Assistance Programs I was glad to read about the different settings available
for the clinical mental health counselor to work within. It is always good to know several options
exists, and if you do not like where you currently are working, you could always switch settings.
Before reading the text, I was thinking of working in private practice, but I am now unsure if I would
be willing to take risks associated with the private practice area. The responsibility of being solely
liable for all financial matters, accounting, administrative work, and inconsistent revenue streams is
quite scary (Gladding Newsome, 2018, p. 385). Currently, the setting that is most appealing for me to
work in is the employee assistance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the world where managed care organizations are pushing for counseling sessions to be short,
employee assistance programs seem like the right fit for short term services, with three to eight
sessions being the norm. As an EAP counselor, it is essential for me to be assured of my ability to
protect my clients confidentiality. I am aware of lines being blurred when counseling, for instance, a
boss and his/her employee. I should be able to assure both parties that the information shared during
our sessions will be held to the privacy standards required of counselor and client relationships.
Committing to professional behaviors such as maintaining a strictly professional relationship, being an
attentive listener, respecting cultural differences, and advocating for my clients. I would also be
trained in working with adults, as well as children and couples since EAP services sometimes include
the family members. An asset I would like to have is some wellness and prevention training because a
focus in EAP counseling is geared towards wellness. To become an EAP counselor, I would need to
participate in continuing education training, including substance abuse and addictions counseling;
knowledge about the business world is also a necessary asset. The Employee Assistance Program
Association (EAPA) offers training classes through its local chapters (Gladding Newsome, 2018).
Clinical mental health counselors are just one

Einstein Medical Center services a largely urban patient population. Located in North Philadelphia,
the medical center caters to various ethnic groups. The majority of North Philadelphia s population
consists of African Americans and Hispanics, mainly Puerto Ricans. Although there is a significant
presence of many other racial groups including Irish, Dominican, White Americans, and Italians,
North Philadelphia has the highest percentage of Puerto Ricans in the nation (United States Census
Bureau). According to the American Heart Association, the cardiovascular disease death rate among
African Americans is 34 percent higher than for the overall U.S. population (Seconds Count.org). The
American Heart Association states that heart disease is the number one cause of death for all
Americans and strokes are the fifth highest. Much like African Americans, Hispanics and Latinos face
even higher risks of cardiovascular diseases (American Heart Association). Since North Philadelphia s
population is comprised of mainly African Americans and Hispanics, the hospital patient population
will most likely present with more cases of cardiovascular disease.
In addition, more than half of North Philadelphia s population and 28% of the entire city live below
the federal poverty line, about $20,000 of income per year (United States Census Bureau). North
Philadelphia s diverse and impoverished population correlates to a low income/impoverished patient

Exploring The Copyrighting Options For The Trio Essay
The Objective:
Explore the copyrighting options for The Trio, a newly popular band, who have produced a range of
graphic designs for phone and gadget covers. The Trio will need to protect their designs from being
copied and sold by individuals or companies producing similar products. From their options; they can
(1) enforce copyright on their work, (2) creative commons licensing and/or (3) trademarking song
lyrics in some of their designs.
Ownership/profit dividing:
As the songwriter, Jasper will be credited for the designs which incorporate his lyrics. He will receive
60% of the profits for those particular covers. Summer and Dak will receive 20% each, as their
designs will feature behind the lyrics. Summer and Dak will share equal ownership of remaining
designs, excluding the lyrics, and divide the profits equally.
1. Copyright:
As New Zealand citizens, qualifying them for copyright in New Zealand, and creators of their
products, The Trio are the first authors and as such are entitled to enforce copyright if it is infringed
upon. This means that they have the exclusive rights to copy, sell, adapt or show the work to the public
(New Zealand Legislation, 2015).
a) Advantages:
The copyright for commercialised product designs can last for up to 16 years with the option of
renewal ( How long does copyright protection last? , 2015) and it is also protected internationally
because New Zealand s participation in various international agreements on copyright means that

Essay about Advantages and Disadvantages of Free...
1a) Advantages of free international trade
1. Increasing the production.
Countries are enabled by free international trade to specialise or to focus in the production of the
goods in which they have a comparative advantage. Specialisation countries can take the benefit of
efficiencies generated from increased output and economies of trade. The size of the firm s market are
increased by the international trade which results in lower average costs and increasing in
productivity, as it ultimately leads to increase in production.

With free international trade a lot of jobs will be created in the country, especially in industries of
manufacturing and services which can absorb the unemployment that created by restructuring as firms
down their workforce.
Disadvantages of free international trade.
1. Structural unemployment may occur in the short term with the removal of trade barriers. This will
have impact on large numbers of workers, as well as their families and local economies. In growth
industries workers often will have difficulties to find employment.
2. Business, consumers and employees are more weak to downturns in the economies of trading
partners. For example, recession in the USA leads to decrease in demand for UK s exports, leading to
falling in export incomes, lower GDP and incomes, decrease in domestic demand and rising in
unemployment.
3. Some of the countries with surplus commodities may dumb them on international markets at a low
price. Under such conditions, some of the efficient industries can might find difficulties in competing
for long period. Furthermore, countries whose economies are mostly rural will face unfavourable
terms of trade. For example, ration of export prices to import prices. Which means that their export
income is more smaller than their import payments the make for high value added imports, as it leads
to subsequently large foreign debt levels.

  • 2. Paparazzi Go Too Far When the Paparazzi Go Too Far 1. Introduction Everyone who is interested in pop culture and the entertainment industry knows who the paparazzi are. According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, the term paparazzi is defined as a free lance photographer who aggressively pursues celebrities for the purpose of taking candid photographs. The term actually came from a film from the 1960 s called La Dolce Vita , directed by Federico Fellini. A character in the film was a news photographer named Paparazzo. Paparazzi target celebrities and public figures that are in the spotlight. In recent years, the paparazzi have taken their job of snapping photos to another extent. They will go to any length to get the shot of a celebrity, even if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, the paparazzi chose to take pictures of the dying princess during her last few moments alive. Princess Diana had two sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, that were ages 12 and 15 when She died. It was said that the three paparazzi that were taking the photos were charged by French officials but in 2002 the charges were dropped (13). Can you imagine how it felt for them not only to lose their mother but to see the photos of their mother laying on a gurney, cut up and trying to cling on to life? Meanwhile, those paparazzi and their publishers were making a pretty penny from the photographs. There are other cases of celebrities who have fallen to victims of the paparazzi. Justin Bieber was involved in an incident where he was driving on freeway 101 in Los Angeles California and 4 to 5 vehicles of paparazzi were following him. As Bieber tried to escape by speeding, the paparazzi stayed right on his tail. This kind of activity went on for about 15 miles until an officer pulled Bieber over for speeding. While the officer was proceeding with the citation, the paparazzi took pictures of all the action. After the officer pulled away and Bieber continued his drive down freeway 101 the paparazzi returned (2). Bieber had called 911 as he was trying to get away from them he told the dispatcher about the situation saying, They re being very dangerous, swerving around other cars trying to get ... Technology, independence and social equality are some of the diverse concepts the United States have adapted to and developed in order to become a more unified country. Our nation believes that it is exceptional when it comes to other countries worldwide. As can be shown through the popular reference to America as the shining city on a hill . The term American exceptionalism is derived from ideals held by many Americans throughout history. Different people have analyzed American exceptionalism through multiple literary devices. But if we shall neglect...shall fall to embrace this present world and prosecute our carnal intentions, seeking great things for ourselves and our posterity, the Lord will surely break out in wrath against us (Winthrop, 20). This idea that the Christian deity is somehow connected to America s greatness can be found in Conwell s work, albeit used in a different manner. Like Winthrop, Russell Conwell, author of Acres of Diamonds, stresses how great America is with emphasis that it somehow ordained from a higher power. However, Winthrop focuses maintaining this status through unselfish means while Conwell uses this as a way to establish individual success. There never was a place on earth more adapted than the city of Philadelphia to day, and never in the history of the world did a poor man without capital have such an opportunity . . . Because to make money honestly is to preach the gospel (Conwell, 179). His argument that Philadelphia is the greatest city on earth ties in with the concept of American exceptionalism. The connection he makes with religion is contrasted to Winthrop since Winthrop argues that America will lose its exceptionality if it does not avoid selfish actions. Conwell argues that God is placing America in such a place that every person has the ability to acquire individual wealth. Though Conwell focuses on the city of Philadelphia, his arguments can be applied to a more general sense in America. His statement that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Factors Influencing Nursing Among Nurses Title: Factors influencing professionalism in nursing among nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. INTRODUCTION Statement of the problem Healthcare organizations in Saudi Arabia are very dependent on expatriate nurses to meet the demands of health staffing, a situation exacerbated by the current global nursing shortages and retention issues (Almalki, Fitzgerald, Clark, 2011). I propose to study the factors that influence the professionalism in nursing amongst nurses from different countries in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. I am particularly interested in this field as I have encountered nurses behaving unprofessionally in a hospital setting. According to Miller, Adams and Beck (1993), formal education in a university setting and education with a scientific background are critical for professionalism in nursing. A study done by Rees, Monrouxe, and McDonald (2015), expressed that while nursing students are shown professionalism through formal educational module, they ordinarily encounter workplace based professionalism dilemmas that are frequently created by registered nurses. Peer relationships in nursing is also important in maintaining the standards of professionalism (Padgett, 2013). Purpose of the study The purpose of the study is to determine the factors influencing professionalism in nursing among nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Theoretical framework The theoretical framework that I would use in this research paper is the Hall s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Criticisms Of The Distributive Model In Social Justice Wadood, Jaleel AfroAm 188A Sem 3 Spring 2017 Professor Rogers May 26, 2017 Criticisms of the Distributive Model in Social Justice Iris Marion Young takes on a strong position surrounding the notion of a distributive model within the realm of social justice in Justice and The Politics of Difference. She does not believe the distributive model truly encompasses the issues within social justice, but rather limits social justice to the fair and just distribution of advantage and strain amongst the members of society. The distributive model fails to acknowledge the process that limits the distribution of human rights to society s members, thus lacking the means to evoke change. Young takes on a position that focuses on the process of domination and oppression within society and how that should be the primary focus when trying to understand social justice. The distributive paradigm or model that Young refers to in her book defines social justice as the morally proper distribution of benefits and burdens among society s members (Young 16). In that regard, social justice is being viewed as the distribution of material goods, resources, and other means of economic advancement. Social justice is much broader and goes far deeper than simply defining who gets what. While the distribution of resources, wealth, and material goods is an important factor when thinking about social justice, it should not be the center of discussion. The distribution of such things comes first from the initiation of a social system that defined who was worthy of receiving resources in life. To think that social justice is solely about the distribution of wealthy possessions, ignores the fact that there are social structures that have been put into place in order to control the distribution. In a sense, the distributive model only acknowledges the effects of the issue and not the cause. By only focusing on the distribution of wealth, resources, income, and jobs in society, the distributive model leaves out the way social constructions of race and class have allocated the distribution of such possessions. There are institutions within society that are controlling the distribution of various material things in society, and have been put in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Essay on slyvia plath Sylvia Plath s quot;Mirror, quot; shows a truly thoughtful look into the different sights and feelings a mirror would have if it were a live conscious being, unable to lie. By showing the thoughts and emotions that a mirror would emit, Plath makes you look inward towards how you present yourself not only to your mirror but also to yourself. This is an eye opening poem because of its truthful descriptions of the relationship between the inner feelings of people and how their outward appearances that they portray of themselves affect them in and out of the public realm. Examples of this are put throughout the poem quot;Mirror, quot; and can be found in just about every line of the poem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next section of the poem introduces a woman into the life of the mirror. She look toward the mirror seeking to find what she truly wants to discover (beauty), and the mirror truthfully reflects back to her what it sees. She turns from the reflection as if to look for the quot;truth quot; in something else, not excepting what she has just seen. Unable to find it, the mirror sees her agitation and depression after seeing her true self within it. She is always looking into the mirror to make sure everything is perfect and to put everything in it s place, so to speak. In this the mirror, as the years seemingly pass, sees the young girl transform from her youth into an old woman and lose all that she has fretted over and over about throughout her life. Each day, she is reminded by the mirror of her lost youth and beauty that was once projected back at her so faithfully. The mirror in the poem is a representation of the truths in life that as a person is difficult to come to terms with in one s self. The woman s view of herself and her reluctance to accept her natural and God given beauty, shows how we all (as a society or as an individual) find it hard to accept ourselves for who we truly are. How we try to make ourselves into a conformed object of quot;popular beauty quot; based upon our outward appearance, instead of going by how our personal feelings that come from within us. ... • 8. Literary Analysis Of The Painted Bird Oyuki Paniagua Professor Brienza Larsen English 1B July 21 2017 Different It s hard to imagine having your entire family murdered as a young kid, living in a century where war attacks were in every corner. This was the life of the young boy in the story The Painted Bird. Although the author, Jerzy Kosinski, never confirmed the book as an autobiography, it was easy to feel the pain as if he experienced it himself. The Painted Bird is a heartfelt novel that gives us all a glimpse into the dark reality of our past. The author is able to walk us through what I believe was his life. We are lead through a series of trauma the young boy experienced. The boy shares the dark reality that anyone that is that vulnerable can be tortured, abused and killed by anyone, including family. The boy s tragic life is a testimony of how terrifying life was like during the world war. Nevertheless, it seems as though life was just a bit tougher for him because he was different. Life can be difficult for many people, but it is undeniable that being different can affect the way others view you. *Such life was Kosinskis, Being different than the people around him made him a target. Through the juxtaposition of childish innocence and the most brutal forms of fallen adult experience, such works sum up the universal trauma of war in a myth of unrivaled concentration and clarity. • 12. Juveniles Should Be Sent To Adult Prison There are a lot of people out there who commit crimes, people of different race and age. I agree that at whatever age that the crime is committed that the punishment should be the same for every criminal. Everyone has different opinions on whether juveniles or teens should be sent to adult prison and my opinion is that they should be sent to adult prison. I have my reasons for saying this. When adults commit a crime they know what they are doing, they know what they are getting themselves into, and they know what possible punishment they could get. When teens commit a crime they have just as much responsibility as an adult has when committing a crime. As Marjie Lundstrom says in Kids are Kids , They are kids that is, until they foul up. Until they commit crimes. And the bigger the crime, the more eager we are to call them adults. In this quote I believe her words because there are some kids out there that do worse crimes than adults and there are kids that commit crimes when some adults don t commit crimes at all. For instance, they get a poor quality of sleep, they have little to no motivation to carry out tasks, and overall they lead a much more negative lifestyle than those who portray a healthier tone in relationships. 2. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When managing interpersonal conflicts the best possible outcome would be attainable by using the Win Win method because it is able to accommodate the individual needs of all parties involved in a conflict. The most logical reason as to why this is one of the most effective ways when it comes to relieving disagreements is because it requires you to understand the others underlying meanings in their evident messages. Contrasting the Win Win approach, there are three other less successful techniques in order to sway a conflict. A Win Lose situation is when one individual/group gets their aspirations granted, while the other individual/group suffers an absolute loss. Also, in a conflict that practices the Lose Lose technique is when neither of the two individuals involved is satisfied with the outcome. The last optional method employed in a conflict is compromising. This is a way for both individuals involved to have only some of their requests met. Meanwhile, each individual separately forgoes the remainder of his or her requests. However, sometimes the Win Win approach is not always attainable or realistic, so one may opt for the next best approach, compromise. This is often implemented when there is not enough time/desire to understand each other s wants. Also, when the other party involved is clearly noncompliant in employing a Win Win problem solving method, we may stray more toward the decision to compromise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Approximately 156,000 allied soldiers landed all along these beaches and fought and died to liberate France. Sadly 4,413 allies died doing this. • 15. The History and Function of the Condom Introduction The condom is a barrier device that is used since ancient times. Many couples do not want to get pregnant but still want to have sexual intercourse. In this circumstance, one way is to wear a condom. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), is a pandemic that caused 36 million deaths worldwide (citation: UNAIDS.org, 2012) caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). One of the reasons why it spread so quickly is because of sexual contact. The men s body fluid (semen) is spread into the women s body, which means the woman is also contracted with AIDS. But with the help of the condom, the number of people newly infected by AIDS greatly reduced. The condom does not stop AIDS, it stops AIDS from spreading. Throughout history, there are many different types of condoms, from the earliest leather condoms, to rubber, and now the Polyisoprene (Natural rubber). The most commonly used is the 1920 Latex Condom, which is the one I will focus on in this essay. How the condom works Human reproduction works when an erect penis is inserted into the vagina and the man thrust it in and out until ejaculation occurs. The semen (liquid that includes sperm and other liquid) is released into the vagina. The sperm travels along the vagina and meets the egg, where the sperm fertilizes the egg. The sperm and egg forms a zygote. The zygote later forms into an embryo cell and is implanted onto the endometrium (the uterus wall); this is the beginning of pregnancy. (Y9 Reproduction ... Required: What type of evaluation mechanisms should she propose for the two managers? Answer: There is significant difference between the two SBUs in revenue and asset size. Additionally, the assets of the two outlets are very different in age and book value. Return on investment (ROI) has the advantage over residual income (RI) of being reported as a percentage, which allows for comparison of different sized units. A more difficult problem is the dramatic difference in the age of the two outlets asset bases. Use of gross or net book value for both units would distort comparative results; current market value would be a more appropriate asset base. Because this is a smaller firm, economic value added (EVA) would probably not significantly improve comparability results over ROI. Since the two units are so different, consideration should be given to using separate evaluation techniques for each outlet. • 17. The Positive Relationship Between Violence And Violence In... Fighting in hockey is often a polarizing topic. Hockey is a unique game, in which fights extract a loud ovation from the spectators. Fans attend for a variety of reasons. Attendance at NHL games has been increasing in recent years. Goal scoring and violence are the two main factors fans associate with professional ice hockey. Violence occurs in hockey through body checks, slashes and the most popular form, fighting. Violence and fighting have been shown to have a positive impact on attendance. Violence is measured as the average number of penalty minutes. Penalties are broken down into two categories: major and minor. The National Hockey League has taken the opposite stance with a fan favorite attribute, violence, and they have attempted to decrease the amount of fighting through such rules such as the instigator . The instigator is known as a player whom the officials blame to have started the fight. Recent research on the National Hockey League (NHL) has focused on treating violence as a goods characteristic , an attribute of the product deliberately fostered by teams to generate revenue (Jones, Stewart Sunderman, 1996). Specifically, one goods characteristic hypothesis is that there is a direct positive relationship between violence and game attendance (Jones, Stewart Sunderman, 1996). Hence, there is a positive relationship between violence and revenue. The NHL tolerates more violence than any other league includes the NFL and NBA. However, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is by wise spending on our own products, which will help materially in these difficult and anxious times to keep our native crafts alive and active. The collectors of Vyse pottery can rest assured that their expenditure is justified.4 Marsh, further remarks on the satisfaction collectors will feel from the acquisition of a Vyse figure or a stoneware vase when visiting their exhibitions at Walkers Galleries. However, this figure group chimes with two previous compositions by Harry Parr, his Boy and Turkey of 1921 (Fig. 38) and his Chanticleer of 1927 (Fig. 81). It would appear from the similarity of these designs, and as previously suggested by the author, the game of one up man ship, by Vyse and Parr, is i the basis for these recurring designs. Whereas Parr established a factual incident on which to base his first composition, it is unlikely that Vyse could claim a similar experience. Possibly, that in an attempt to out do his former friend, Vyse, condescended to model a variation on the concept originated by Parr. If this hypothesis is correct, Vyse, who abhorred such borrowing by other artists, also stooped to conquer. Another vast difference came in the reactions to what the storytellers told the disciples and who Jesus appeared to in regards to getting others to believe what has happened. Matthew 27, the crucifixion was one that is very familiar to many Christians; this story doesn t often stray from its basis. The one new thing I did learn was that two rebels were executed with Him and even they cursed Jesus name at the time. One of my favorite differences between Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were when the message of Jesus resurrection was told to people. Between the angel, the young man with a white robe, two men in gleaming robes, or Jesus himself, the stories all came from a different perspective but for the most part were very similar and that specifically was interesting to research. The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.... In this encounter, Mary and Mary Magdalene both approached the tomb but was confronted by this angel on the closed tomb who told them the fate of Jesus. Sherryl Vint agrees that Buffy is a positive role model for young women, one which feminism should celebrate (para. 3). Prior to embarking upon my own analysis of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it this pertinent to consider Joss Whedon s envisioning of his series, and in particular, his heroine, Buffy. In interviews he has often explained his desire to create an alternative ending for the horror movie: It was pretty much the blond girl in the alley in the horror movie who keeps getting killed ... I felt bad for her, but she was always much more interesting to me than the other women. She was fun, she had sex, she was vivacious. But then she would get punished for it. Literally, I just had that image, that scene, in my mind, like the trailer for a movie what if the girl goes into that dark alley. And the monster follows her. And she destroys him. (Quoted in Vint, para. 6) Whilst we see here that Whedon s intention is to subvert the conventional horror movie/slasher genre, I m not sure that he is successful. He is running the considerable risk of merely replacing the fetishised female victim with a fetishised female hero; she is still a pretty blond girl, she is still fun, she is still sexual, she is still Barbie with ... While most wheels consisted of four pieces of wood bent into V s the Egyptians developed the six V wheels. This was not as strong but was faster and lighter. These range from an increase in labor supply to faster economic growth. Dr. Andreas Peichl wrote an article detailing the expected results of a flat tax system. He based his expectations upon the various countries that currently employ such a system. The increase in labor supply can be explained by following the economic law of supply, which states that the supply of a good will increase as the price increases. Thus, as taxes are lowered and families are able to bring home more income, more people are willing to search for work. By stimulating the job market, the economy as a whole will be stimulated, as more families will have greater expendable incomes. Another effect that a simpler tax code will have is that more Americans will be able to reap the full benefits of the tax code. By eliminating itemized deductions taxation becomes more equal. • 42. A Comparison Of Superman And Me By Sherman Alexie Throughout literature many pieces of work can be compared and contrasted to each other. In Superman and Me, Sherman Alexie discusses the challenges he faced as a young Indian adult, who found his passion of reading at an early age, living on the Spokane Indian Reservation. He challenged the stereotype of the young Indian students who were thought to be uneducated while living on a reservation. Likewise, in the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory, Richard Rodriguez shares his similar experience of being a minority and trying to break stereotypes of appearing uneducated. He shares the details of his life growing up learning a different culture and the struggles he faced becoming assimilated into American culture. In these two specific pieces of literature discuss the importance of breaking stereotypes of social and educational American standards and have similar occupational goals; on the other hand the two authors share their different family relationships. A large similarity between the two works of literature consist of the journey of breaking certain standards of education particularly in people of color. In the essay Superman and Me, Alexie grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation where to a non Indian adult the expectation of the Indian students were very low. With these exceptions set at such a low standard the desire to give students a proper education were extremely limited. Questions On The Arab Spring Fall term 2014 University of Windsor Department of Political Science 45 130 Seminar in Comparative Politics Instructor: Dr. Elena Maltseva The Arab Spring Written by Kevin Bernklau Student Nr.: 103957678 Email: bernkla@uwindsor.ca Submitted on: November 26, 2014 Discuss the structural factors which contributed to the onset of the Arab Spring in 2011. Based on what you learned about the origins of revolutions in this class, was this wave of contention inevitable? The term Arab Spring has emerged in academic literature as well as in the general media from about early 2011. It refers to the awakening of some Arab nations and the movements to replace authoritarian regimes with democratic ones. The theme of spring and awakening seems to have been borrowed from the 1989 reform movements in the former Eastern block nations, such as in the former German Democratic Republic or Hungary. However, this comparison has been criticised by some analysts since both the circumstances which have led to these movements as well as the outcome of these reform efforts seem to differ quite a lot. Yet, the Arab Spring term seems to be still widely used and even found an extension in the creation of the term Arab Winter which refers to events that happened in 2012 in some Arab countries during which these reform movements seemed to have cooled off and particular nations, such as Egypt, attempted to go back to the status quo of the pre 2011 era. Essay On Employee Assistance Programs Working with Employee Assistance Programs I was glad to read about the different settings available for the clinical mental health counselor to work within. It is always good to know several options exists, and if you do not like where you currently are working, you could always switch settings. Before reading the text, I was thinking of working in private practice, but I am now unsure if I would be willing to take risks associated with the private practice area. As an EAP counselor, it is essential for me to be assured of my ability to protect my clients confidentiality. I am aware of lines being blurred when counseling, for instance, a boss and his/her employee. I should be able to assure both parties that the information shared during our sessions will be held to the privacy standards required of counselor and client relationships. Committing to professional behaviors such as maintaining a strictly professional relationship, being an attentive listener, respecting cultural differences, and advocating for my clients. I would also be trained in working with adults, as well as children and couples since EAP services sometimes include the family members. An asset I would like to have is some wellness and prevention training because a focus in EAP counseling is geared towards wellness. To become an EAP counselor, I would need to participate in continuing education training, including substance abuse and addictions counseling; knowledge about the business world is also a necessary asset. The Employee Assistance Program Association (EAPA) offers training classes through its local chapters (Gladding Newsome, 2018). Clinical mental health counselors are just one ...
