Narrative Techniques In Ed Gonzalez s Film Close Up
As said by Ed Gonzalez in his article about Close up, the movie is still definitive film on film
commentary. This is proven throughout the movie with the use of shots and editing, and also with how
Bazin might react to Abbas Kiarostami s film. Throughout this course so far, shots and editing have
been an integral part of what has been covered. Close up has a unique approach to how it is directed.
Considered a mockumentary, it has all the styles of a documentary with some twists. The close up shot
creates an intimate feeling for the viewer. With a close up shot the viewer connects emotionally better
with the person in the movie. Whether being interviewed, as seen in Close up, or just a person talking
in a movie the feeling is stronger about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mummy complex is when cinema satisfies the desire to preserve. If he could give a reaction to
this Bazin would say that this whole film is real. Due to the fact that film is supposed to be trusted in
his mind and should show reality it means the film is all real. If this were the case though it would
make all movies look real. There is a knowledge that film is scripted for the most part and what we see
regularly is rarely real. This does preserve reality in Bazin s mind though. With the kicking of the can,
it shows that although it is scripted it is not a fake movie. There is still the sense of reality in every
scene. The can saves that, it preserves that sense. The mise en scene in Kiarostami s Close up leans
more towards the realistic side. The aspects of this movie continually fall under the category of
realistic. With the camera location for some of the shots it makes it realistic. Seeing the scenes from
behind car windows or other obstacles makes the scenes real. They are real because it is like you are
watching what is going on live right in front of you. The lighting of the movie makes it realistic as
well. There was never really any scenes that were either too dark or too bright to make it seem fake.
Even inside the courtroom it looked as if the room was true and was not altered. The outdoor scenes
were controlled lighting that would be seen under any

China s Stature As A Political As Well As Economic...
Synopsis:
China s stature as a political as well as economic hegemon continues to grow well into the second
decade of the 21st century. This has led many to believe that the Chinese Renminbi (which is
denominated in the Yuan, and hence, referred hereafter as such) may soon eclipse the United States
Dollar (USD) as the World Reserve Currency (WRC).
Such claims of a currency of a large economy eclipsing the USD as the WRC have been rife in the
past. In its heyday, Japan s Yen was thought to have the capacity to overthrow the USD s dominating
position in the 1970 s. After that, the German Mark was widely expected to do the same in the 1980 s.
And later, the Euro too was theorized to be the next WRC.
The major aim of this paper is to give economic and political arguments to show that the Yuan will
similarly not succeed to dethrone USD as the world s most dominant currency.
This essay is divided into several sections. The first section deals with defining what exactly the
author means by World Reserve Currency and Dominant Currency because without underlying this,
the issue becomes vague and ambiguous. The second section seeks to answer the factors affecting
currency compositions of reserves across the world and will briefly argue why the USD (and not the
Yuan or any other currency) continues to fit the bill as the perfect reserve currency. It is followed by
section three which asks why the tag of World Reserve Currency is so important and also answers why

The main objective of this paper is to examine the effects of HIV/AIDS scourge on labour force
productivity of Adamawa state households. 2. Problem Statement The health status of the people in
any country is a critical element in the growth of its economy as well as an important factor in the
overall quality of life. AIDS tend to selectively affect women, youths, which are the vulnerable
groups; it will influence a wide range of social and economic factors. In Adamawa State, agriculture is
the dominant industry; high rate of infection could lead to the stagnation of the industry. Recent
studies have revealed that HIV/AIDS prevalence among women and youths is increasingly worrisome.
The target is the most productive group of the population (15 49 groups). 3. Literature Review and
Conceptual Framework Until the early 1990 s, the empirical economic growth literature focused
exclusively on the role of capital and labour (The later often augmented by schooling and
technological change, but hardly ever on health as a key element of human capital (Baro, 1991). Even
where a relationship has been found between indicators of health and income per capita, it has either
been discounted or thought to be an indication of the impact of economic

Essay on Feasibility of Geothermal Energy in the United...
Feasibility of Geothermal Energy in the United States Abstract Over the past years, gasoline and
electricity have been the leading energy resources. The search for an alternative source of energy has
become a complicated problem for scientists and an economic dilemma for America s public.
Scientists have been trying to recognize geothermal energy as the next leading source of energy. In
this research paper, I account for the inexpensive costs and different methods of gathering the
geothermal energy of America. Geothermal energy is a renewable energy resource which can heat and
cool buildings. Although there are some by products, using a particular type of system can help stop
their emission. In conclusion, the use of geothermal energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The pipes hold water, or glycol, transferring the heat inside buildings, which is known as heat
exchange (Solar4Scolars, para. 2 and 3). Feasibility of Geothermal Energy in the United States 3
Government funded research into obtaining geothermal energy was greatly dynamic in the 1970s and
early 1980s. However, as oil prices declined in the mid 1980s, alternative energy sources declined,
thus, funding for geothermal energy research greatly reduced. Consequently, this monetary difficulty
stifled any advancement on geothermal technology. Now that energy concerns have resurfaced, an
opportunity exists for the U.S. to pursue the EGS [Enhanced Geothermal Systems] option aggressively
to meet long term national needs, as observed by MIT Professor Jefferson Tester (MIT, January 22,
2007, para. 19). Based on previous studies, there is evidence that geothermal energy has a hopeful
future in helping the United States. To study the potential use of geothermal energy, the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT) found from experimental procedures that mining heat stored as thermal
energy can supply electricity at competitive prices and cause little detriment to the environment. The
study showed that drilling wells that reached hot rock and connecting them to regions of fractured
rock stimulated water flow. Relating to geothermal energy, this exchange of heat produced large
amounts of steam and hot water to run

Film Analysis Of Dear White People
In this paper, we will discuss whether the subaltern is being heard clearly within film and television.
Although in modern film we have somewhat shifted away from the former stereotypical black
characters, the genuine black life is still concealed due to mainly white producers and directors. Film
has come a long way from the generic social constructs including coons, mammies, and bucks, yet it
has not reached its full potential as far as presenting the average African American s life. The
Caucasian producers decide the nature of black life without experiencing first hand. Essentially, to get
a truly authentic story, it must be expressed by those who have lived through it. Narratives should
nevertheless be told by the person or persons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His actual message of wanting to be considered equal with the white man is stifled by his submission
to social constructs. The sanction of this notion allows for the inferiority complex to exist. If the
African American surrenders his drive for equality, white people can continue the narrative that their
sovereignty is for the best. White people will find any excuse to validate colonial racism with ideas
such as God created them superior or that their colonization was solely to stimulate economic growth
within that particular country. Another aspect of Fanon s thoughts is that whites in the middle class
treat blacks with a sense of subsidiarity to promote their own elevation. This statement can be justified
with Fanon s statement, By treating the Jew as an inferior and pernicious being, I affirm at the same
time that I belong to the elite. Although middle class whites are toward the outer rings of the hegemon,
they criticize blacks in order to attempt to propel themselves toward the inner hegemon. Particularly in

Factors Assoicates with Increasing Entrepreneurship in the...
Entrepreneurship in the UAE Overview The UAE has been known to be a pioneer of change,
economic flourishing especially in its openness to foreign direct investments. As of 2011, the share of
the self employed among the employed population is 3%, which is considerably low in comparison to
countries in the region such as Jordan (16%) and Lebanon (35%) (17). Almost 93% of the Emirati
population are working in the public sector 28% of whom are women with the majority being male
employees (17). Another important GCC specific element to put in mind when discussing employment
is the percentage of non nationals who contribute to the working population. This explains why the
majority of entrepreneurs in the UAE are not Emirati nationals (18). With the high number of
employment in the public sector given many incentives such as high salaries, job security, benefits and
flexibility entrepreneurship remains the path less crossed due to the risks involved with taking the
initiative (17). In the UAE, there are three important entities that have a strong influence on the
progress of entrepreneurship and they are the government, the educational institutions, and the private
sector. Another UAE specific element of doing business is the legal bureaucracy that pushes non local
entrepreneurs especially to set up their start ups in the many free zones which in turn require high
business license fees, along with restrictions on the number of visas given (18). The government of the

The Summary of and Response to The Trouble with Talent by Kathy Seal
In The Trouble with Talent , Kathy Seal, who frequently writes about children and education in
magazines, wrote about the way of education in the U.S. which only focused on the value of inborn
aptitude could breed children to become artful people and waste many of American children s
potential. At the beginning of this article, Seal told about an experiment of Jim Stigler, who was a
UCLA psychologist, which tested the persistence of Japanese and American children by solving the
math problem. While the American kids solved the problem for a short time and quickly gave up, the
Japanese kids still kept on their work. Stigler stated that Asian education focused to ... Show more

Indeed, from this article we recognize that the children will gain success when everybody encourages
their effort and shouldn t emphasize inborn talent. Effort counts more than innate ability.
After reading Seal s article which stated that Americans often thought kids are born smart while
Asians more often believed that studying makes a person smarter, I was reminded my own personal
beliefs on intelligence and I realized that I have thought people could get smart by exerting effort
since I was in the last year of elementary school in Vietnam. Therefore, I empathized with Seal s
attitude that success and achievement are a result of working hard. I could remember that I got this
attitude when I was in an important final exam which decided where my middle school was in the next
year that depended on my score. In this exam, the math test was an extremely difficult test for every
student because it had a strange math problem which my classmates and I had never studied before. At
first, I had spent for 2 hour to solve this problem, but I didn t succeed. So, I wanted to give up.
However, I was worry about my score and thought about my mom, who hoped that I could get the
high score enough to enter a famous middle school. Since I didn t want to disappoint my mom s wish,
I tried to solve this math problem again and again and again. Eventually, I was successful to solve

Transformational Vs Servant Leadership Case Study
Summary of Article
Journal 2
Title: Transformational versus servant leadership: a difference in leader focus
Author: A. Gregory Stone, Robert F. Russell and Kathleen Patterson
The main content in the article is to compare and contrast both similarities and differences of
transformational leadership and servant leadership. Transformational leadership was introduced by
James MacGregor Burns (1987) and Bernard M. Bass (1985a) while servant leadership was developed
by Robert Greenleaf (1997). Both leadership concepts are frequently applied or adopted by the
researches and people who engage in the industry.
In order to increase subordinate performance, leader who apply transformational leadership is engage
in building commitment to organisation objectives and giving authority to his/her followers to achieve
the defined objectives (Yukl, 1998). Transactional leadership is the other extreme of transformational
leadership due to its lesser democratic authority given to followers, concern on task fulfilment and
monitor performance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, results showed a negative relationship between transactional leadership and job
satisfaction. Research carried out in Journal 2 showed an extensive study on servant leadership by
comparing with others leadership concepts. Results of Farling et al. (1999) discovered that servant
leadership depend on a spiritual base to obtain their sources of values. Study of Horsman (2001)
perceived servant leadership as the prominent leadership model and recognized an association
between servant leadership and the personal features of spirit. Outcomes of both researches conducted
by James Laub (1999) and Rusell (2000, 2001) revealed that further empirical research should be
conducted to prove the validity or accuracy of the relation between personal values and characteristic
of servant leadership

species to survive and maintain their position as one of the largest land predator(s) in the world. As a
result, our group had decided to analyze every aspect of Polar bears. Polar bears, whose scientific
name is Ursus maritimus, is most commonly referred to as sea bear or ice bear . These bears are very
interesting species that belong to the arctic region. In this essay, I will be discussing the polar bear s

This is where most of their time is spent: either when hunting, mating, denning, or just roaming.
Surprisingly, polar bears are extremely resilient swimmers. According to Defender s of wildlife, polar
bears may be seen in open waters as far as 200 miles off shore. ( Basic facts about Polar Bears, n.d.).
One of the reasons for such behavior is, like mentioned earlier, polar bears depend on ice. When
newly frozen ice is too thin to support a polar bear s weight, the polar bear finds a different alternative
to get across. In most cases, a polar bear will break through the ice and swim until they require
oxygen. (Striling, 2011) This comes to show how they both able to survive using both mediums.
However, swimming is considered a very high priced activity for polar bears to do. In other words,
swimming requires an immense amount of energy and as a result, you will not commonly see polar

Meaning And Meaning In Life
Life has no meaning if you don t have the urge to wake up the next morning to see the next day. Many
people live their lives unhappy since they have no purpose or meaning to fulfill or satisfy their needs.
Purpose to me is something to live for and something to look forward to in life. Without purpose and
meaning in life there is no point of living at all. Recently in the existentialism unit we ve been reading,
I learned that without a passion to live, one s life means nothing and is a waste of a soul. Based on the
previous books I ve read, I learned I am happy because I have things to look forward to in life and to
wake up the next morning to enjoy the new day. Three elements that give me purpose and meaning in

My family supports me of my decisions in life and set an example of what to be like in the future. My
family teaches me how to go through life since they have experiences much much more already. My
mom leads a path for me in life. She teaches me to learn from my mistakes and never give up. She is
an example of a person who I would like to become in life. For instance, she is a wonderful person
who can take on not only a job but also a role of being a mother to my annoying sister and me. No
matter the ups and downs, she always supports me and manages to get through her life at the same
time. This gives me purpose because not only she encourages me to do well in life; she is the main
reason why I want to do well in life. By being herself, I go to school and do my best so in the future so
I can live up to her and help her in the way she has helped me and brought me into this world. My
purpose or meaning of life is because of my mom, to work hard and be successful to raise a family of
my own and support my mother back when I grow up since she has done so much for me. My mom
and my family give me meaning because without them I would be alone, having to create my own
path without an example. They push me to be a better person and waking up the next day I have the
urge to become a better person than I was compared to the day before. Family gives me purpose and

How Music Has Impacted My Life Essay
Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired
by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an
unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there s a
poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such
as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared
Leto s career is something to behold. An award winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto
epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don t be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want
to do.
Origins
Born in Louisiana, Jared Leto attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia to pursue painting.
However, he eventually dropped out and studied acting in NYC. He then transitioned to California to
begin his career music ( Jared Leto: Biography ). His big break in acting came from the short lived,
yet critically lauded TV series, My So Called Life (1994). Four years later, he became lead singer for
his rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. As the years progressed, Leto found success in both artistic
avenues.
Leto s last film of the 2000s, Mr. Nobody (2009), was met with critical accolades, but marked the
beginning of his hiatus from film. In 2013, Leto returned in full swing with his supporting role in
Dallas Buyer s Club (2013). A commercial and critical

The Marxist Formula in Emecheta s The Joys of Motherhood
Marx states that we are truly free only when [people] place themselves in a position to control their
own historical destiny (Slaughter 25).
Britain s imperial colonization of Africa triggered vast change within the tribal civilizations thriving
on the continent prior to European occupation. For the Africans, these changes altered every level of
their culture: language, religion, as well as ancient tribal customs. But one of the most devastating
aspects of the British colonization in Africa was the European economic system: capitalism.
Capitalism left many Africans reeling from its destructive impact on tribal economies. Nowhere is this
more evident than in The Joys of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emecheta criticizes European colonialism using three approaches: (1) capitalism s separation of
worker and her/his product, (2) capitalism s use of organized religion to reinforce the dominant
economic paradigm, and (3) Britain s conscription of Africans into military service for the colonial
state during the Second World War. Emecheta reveals the exploitative and destructive power of
capitalism by creating characters who sacrifice their identities and their culture to survive under a
colonial system; and the only way to survive within the imperialistic structure is to excel within the
capitalist organization. To accurately examine the oppressed nature of the female characters in The
Joys of Motherhood, however, we must first briefly examine their tribal culture. It is also necessary to
define Ibo culture in economic terms so that we have a benchmark against which to compare changes
that occur within the characters as they move into the capitalist system.
The Ibo tribal system that forms and influences the characters in The Joys of Motherhood is by no
means free from the authorĂs criticism. The traditional tribal structure from which Nnu Ego and the
other characters emerge is a rigid hierarchical, patriarchal culture; and Emecheta clearly sees the
hypocrisy in criticizing the British paradigm without first

Tetanospasmin Research Paper
1. The deadliest neurotoxin I can find on the web is Tetanospasmin (other than botulinum which I
already have learned about). I believe this is the deadliest toxin because it says that an ant weighs
1500 times more than the dose needed to kill an adult human. Two hundred nanograms is considered
lethal, and that is a VERY small number. Tetanospasmin causes muscle spasms when it is found inside
the body within the nervous system and it is produced by a bacterium called Clostridium Tetani. The
reason it is deadly is because it binds to neurons permanently, and when it is bound it stops the
neurotransmitters from being released from the neuron. A dose of Tetanospasmin is able to stop a
neuron from releasing a neurotransmitter because it damages

Review of Ten Best CodePlex project for ASP.NET Developers
Preface
New technology brings with it the puzzle of how and where from to get experience. Software
developers are divided between the use of a very freshly made technology to come up with an
effective plan and how to get up the scale as a competent developer without developing substantive
projects. That apparently super illustrates to us the egg chicken riddle. These days, there is pretty
limited time to carry out assignments, that is, days, as opposed to before when one could do a single
task in months. Therefore, developers have no the luxury of learning through trial and error as it
would only waste time which is also a resource in production. There should be economic time use.
More so, the project idea should also be attractive to draw people in for the soup.
Instead of learning through trial and error, most application builders apprentice through other
established developers. They look at the source codes of these successful developers. Websites like
GitHub, Microsoft and SourceForge, share a vast wealth of knowledge on coding and this is precisely
the trend in which the open source community gains knowledge on codes. The realization of CodePlex
has however made code distribution more effortless and intense.

Cause And Effect Essay On Left Handedness
The Causes and Effects of Left Handedness Observed in Individuals
For thousands of years, there has been evidence of humans fascination with handedness, particularly
regarding left handed individuals. In the past, southpaws have been represented as a sign of evil,
mental illness, defiance, creative and music ability, and empathy. As a result of these clichés, left
handers, had been alienated in the past. However, in more recent developments, psychologists and
neurologists alike have investigated the potential causes of this rare trait, looking to genetics and early
childhood development for answers and, more importantly, part of the effects that handedness has on
left handers mentally, physically, and socially.
While scientists still have not been able to find a definitive cause for becoming left handed, many
believe it to be based on factors such as genetics and neurological health. For instance, one study from
the University of Leicester, believes that the answer to this question lies in our genes, each person
carrying a recessive gene for left handedness, either inheriting it ourselves or passing it on to future
generations. Furthermore, other theories support this idea, evidencing how two left handed individuals
are far more likely to produce offspring that are also dominantly left handed as opposed to two right
handed individuals. However, this conjecture has yet to be proven, leaving the work of other scientists
to explain this phenomenon. Fortunately, some

An Analysis Of Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants...
In Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants I found many layers of symbolism, and a fascinating
psychological underplay afoot between his two characters. It begins with the girl s comment about a
line of white hills seen in the distance, which she compares to white elephants. The man responds with
the comment I ve never seen one.
The symbolism of a white elephant is widely known as something very large or apparent that no one
wishes to acknowledge or speak of in American society. It is an interesting opening to a very strained
conversation concerning an apparent pregnancy, and the man s wish to terminate it. The couple s
careful avoidance of actually naming the problem, or the proposed solution, suggests the situation in
which a mate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an interesting note, the name wormwood derives from the German word Wermut, which translates
as grievous in the English language.
The man s response to her bitterness is one of irritation and he snaps at her, whereupon she promptly
blames him for his lack of appreciation for her clever metaphor about the white hills; referring , most
likely, to his distracted attitude. It seems likely she is accustomed to him complimenting her for her
intelligence and wit, which is now not happening due to his worry over her pregnancy. He again

Life Is AAvoidance Of Life
Regardless how hard we try to escape the difficulties of life, life is never easy. For instance, when a
parent s expectation becomes too much for their child to handle, their child will be conflicted with
these expectations and will feel like a disappointment. In the book, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, a
young man named Chris McCandless escapes society and his family s problems by deciding to live
life on the road. McCandless came from a well off family and had a natural talent for everything he
did, but he had a bad relationship with his father due to his father being unfaithful to his mother.
McCandless s relationship with his father was the problem that drove him to live life on the road. To
McCandless and Krakauer life on the road meant going into the wild, therefore life on the road can be
defined as going into the wild. Although life on the road allows people to find themselves, it is nothing
more than an avoidance of life s problems. Many young people carry out activities they enjoy to
discover or find themselves. Life on the road brought peace to McCandless. McCandless went on the
road in his early twenties. McCandless decided, after exploring in the west of the U.S, to go on an
Alaska odyssey where he would eventually die of starvation. One of his last acts before McCandless
lost his life was taking a picture of himself, But if he pitied himself in those last difficult hours
because he was so young, because he was alone, because his body had betrayed him and

There are four main types of Epidermolysis Bullosa, all can be fatal and they affect infants and

Some of the more severe symptoms include loss of the teeth due to blistering on the inside of the
mouth which effect the tongue cheeks and gums. Some people have internal blistering which effects
the upper airway, intestines, stomach, throat, urinary tract, and the esophagus. Sometimes with the
internal blistering it causes death due to malnutrition from not getting the proper nutrients and also
causes death by suffocation due to the blisters and sores in the throat and airways.
Most doctors can tell when a child is born with Epidermolysis Bullosa just by looking at them but still
need to preform tests to make a positive diagnosis. Some of the test may include biopsy of the skin in
which the doctor takes a piece of infected tissue to determine exactly what type of Epidermolysis
Bullosa they have. Some other tests include genetic testing of the parents to see which one carries the
mutated gene or if both of them

Philip Hamilton And Alexander Hamilton s Mental Health
Alexander Hamilton was one of America s foremost founding fathers. Hamilton s work in the army, in
the writing of and ratification of the constitution, his creation of the bank, and his successful political
career all made an important impact on early american society, most of which can still be seen today.
Although Hamilton accomplished so much in his short life, his last few years were filled with horrible
sufferings that would greatly affect his mental health. This degradation of Hamilton s mental health
would lead historians to advertise his symptoms from traumatic experiences, suicidal tendencies, and
appearances of manic depression. In order to fully understand what was happening to Hamilton s
mental health in the last couple of years of Hamilton s life, one must first understand Philip Hamilton
and his deadly duel with George Eacker, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr s duel, the symptoms of
trauma, suicidal tendencies, and bipolar affective disorder.
Philip Hamilton was Alexander and Eliza Hamilton s firstborn son. Philip was their eldest son, and he
was Alexander Hamilton s pride and joy. Smart, handsome, and on an impressive path, Philip
Hamilton was a rising star by the time he had graduated from college. After hearing about George
Eacker s Fourth of July oration, in which Eacker criticises Hamilton s financial system, and the
treasury department in general, Philip Hamilton grew unsettled and decided to confront George
Eacker. Chernow describes the meeting between Philip Hamilton and George Eacker as contentious
between both parties and shares of the constant threats of violence. Eventually, the two parted ways,
only to result in an immediate challenge of a duel by Philip Hamilton and Richard Price. The
argument between the two was harsh enough that Eacker and Price had a separate duel, albeit resulting
in nothing, before Hamilton and Eacker had a duel. Eacker and Hamilton both refused to apologize,
and a duel between the two was scheduled as soon as possible in New Jersey.
Asking for much needed advice from his father, Philip Hamilton received the advice to wait until
Eacker fired, and then raise his gun and shoot up into the air. Throwing away one s shot, Alexander
Hamilton argued, was a measure

Autism Language Disorder
Introduction The primary focus of this paper is in regards to language disorders in children with
Autism Spectrum Disorder. ASD is a developmental disorder, according to the DSM 5 diagnostic
criteria, that is characterized by persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction
across multiple contexts, as well as restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviors, interests, or activities.
This disorder is present in the early developmental period. Specifically, regarding social interaction, a
child with this diagnosis may have deficits in social emotional reciprocity, nonverbal communicative
behaviors for social interaction, and in developing, maintaining, and understanding relationships
(2013). One of the key diagnostic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Assessment Language assessment is necessary for Autism Spectrum Disorder in order to identify the
areas of language that the client is struggling with, so that the most beneficial treatment plan for their
needs can be determined. Also, assessment is important because early language skills in this
population are key predictors of future language outcomes. It s imperative to consider investigating
the early stages of language and communicative development in very young children with ASD for
this reason. In regards to measuring early language skills in clients with Autism, generally this is done
by both standardized tests and parent reports such as questionnaires or interviews. Both approaches
offer valuable information about a child s linguistic skills and provide important information to predict
later language outcomes. Various types of standardized tests and parent reports can be used to assess a
child s receptive and or expressive language skills. For this reason, it s important to understand the
various options, and the impact on the results these types of tests may have. Rhiannon J. Luyster and
her colleagues (2008) examined various assessment procedures and their influences on the outcome of
the assessment. One assessment included the Mullen Scales of Early Learning which is a test used to
assess the developmental functioning of

Essay on Understanding Phenomenology of Smoking
There has been a great increase in the number of deaths due to smoking. Headlines such as Second
hand smoke kills 600,000 worldwide annually (Falco, 2010) highlights that there s a major problem.
My question is, why are people still smoking? It should be a wake up call for those who smoke but
even with the hard facts presented, people still decide to smoke. As a psychology student, I was
interested in exploring the phenomenology of smoking wanted to address this matter further. To do
this, I designed an interview schedule from which I have gained an individual s emotion as well as
perception towards smoking. Before I could do this I had to, myself, understand what an interview is
how I could professionally interview an individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While I was interviewing, I had realised that my interviewee tried to make me understand that no
matter how bad smoking is how much it affects her health wise, she will not stop unless there s a
specific health problem where she will be forced to stop smoking. This made me question whether
will power exists.
As any method of research, there are strengths and limitations. This particular method can produce
qualitative data and therefore a strength is that it s packed with in depth and rich information that can
be analysed. Furthermore, thoughts and feelings can be deeply explored as one s view can be
explained rather than rated on a number which may mean something different to each individual. As
well as a strength, this is also a weakness. From rich and detailed data case studies are created due to
the uniqueness of each individual. This mean that we cannot apply one s data to everyone else. In
other words, we cannot generalise the data to the rest of population as there are individual differences
that need to be taken into consideration. Another weakness with interviews is that it s hard to analyse
and draw conclusions from as the interviewer is bombarded with information that will take time to
understand to be able to conclude. With this said, the responses from the interviewee are open to
researcher bias due to the interpretation of data. I myself have been a victim of this as I chose to

Cornu Instrument Analysis
The instrument I chose was the Cornu. The reason why I chose this one was because I thought it
would be similar to the cornet, which is just a smaller version of the trumpet, and I know how to play
the trumpet. But, it is actually similar to a tuba; it s just very skinny and doesn t have any keys. When
I first heard it, I thought it sounded like a very bad french horn, but when it s played by someone who
actually knows how to play it very well it sounds like a brassy, harsh but clear, horn sound. The cornu,
which means horn in latin was used as a military instrument for the ancient Romans. Two of the
instruments were found in the late 19th century buried in pompeii next to a Roman soldier. The
military used it as a way to direct the movements

History Of Prague Spring
Prague Spring, 1968
The Prague Spring is referred to when the Warsaw Pact allies invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968. In
1948, communism was the only political party in Czechoslovakia. The communist take over was a
very popular movement. One reason why it was such a popular movement is because Joseph Stalin
signed an agreement with Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt that stated that, the Red Army,
which would then lead to pro communism, would liberate Czechoslovakia. The second reason why
this was such a popular movement is because the people of Czechoslovakia remembered what
happened with the Munich Agreement, where most of Czechoslovakia was surrendered to Nazi
Germany in 1938.
By the early 1950s, Czechoslovakia was a Soviet style dictatorship and a loyal ally of the Soviet
Union (Goldman 123). Antonin Novoty was appointed the head of Czechoslovakia in 1952 by Joseph
Stalin. Novoty was not well liked by the Communist Party. He refused to make changes to the political
system, thinking that it would improve the Soviet s political influence in Czechoslovakia. In 1967,
many very popular writers rebelled against him. It made it more difficult for Novoty to establish
policies. The Communist Party then asked him to resign in January 1968.
The post of the first Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia was given to a man named
Alexander Dubcek. Dubcek was a dedicated Communist, but was wary of the Soviet policies. He had
met many people who came from Stalin s

The Populism Movement
The election of 1892, the year former President Grover Cleveland was reelected after defeating
President Benjamin Harrison. President Grover Cleveland lost the electoral vote in 1888 against
Harrison, but in 1892 Cleveland made a comeback. Even though President Cleveland and President
Harrison represented the two main parties, a third party had risen in popularity during this time. The
People Party received popularity in this election, making them the first third party to receive electoral
votes since the 1860 Presidential Race. The populism movement started as way for farmers to fight
back against dropping crop prices, forced debt, and economic abuse received by capitalistic
corporations. Populism in other words is the movement made by farmer in order to receive economic,
political, and social equality in the reconstructing country. Farmers during this time were in debt due
to the investments on machinery but did not produce enough wealth. Surely farmers had huge field but
due to inflation of crop prices, farmers were not treated in the same economic or social class as those
in corporations. In the election in 1892 the Peoples Party presidential candidate was James Weaver

Common Man All Seasons
The Common Man The play A Man for All seasons , written by Robert Bolt is a dramatic historical
play that plots the dramatic downfall of Thomas More. The Common Man, pictured as a man who is
normal and will do anything, manages to stay covert. His ability to find the path of least resistance as
well as remaining unnoticed allows him to survive the outcome of the play. The theatrical devices he
provides are ways to tell the audience his thoughts and the thoughts of the other characters as well.
Ultimately, the Common Man s double role provides the audience with thoughts and actions of
characters on and off the stage. Small roles are normally significant in stories but in A Man For All
Seasons the Common man proves that statement wrong. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He could be anyone in the audience at any given time, and his selfishness and craven come to be seen
as traits everyone has dealt with at one time.At the same time, the fast pace changing of roles come on
at faster rate as the play continues. At the end, he switches from More s jailer, to a juryman, to More s
executioner in a short time period, therefore exemplifying the abruptness at which some often find
themselves compiling in situations of which they do not in the end approve of.The Common Man also
implicates the audience by addressing us directly, as an interpreter, commentator, or narrorator. The
speeches that are delivered help keep the audience informed on past events and upcoming conflicts. In
addition, the personality of the other characters gives the audience insight into the story. The Common
Man s roles however minor still contribute greatly to the development of the story and, prove the
importance of this character. An excerpt that describes the Common Man is, The Sixteenth Century is
the Century of the Common Man . To show this, the Common Man plays a copious amount of roles
each one being a regular job. When playing the jailer, boatman, steward, and many more roles he
exemplifies characteristics of the everyday man that can be relatable to the audience. His inability to
get caught helps the audience stay connected with characters and events of the play. Finally, the role of
the Common man as a double role helps the play communicate to the audience as well as stay
interesting through sharing common

The Goals Of An Effective Youth Ministry
Introduction
It is important in this present age to keep youth engaged in ministry. Furthermore, the main essential
goal of an effective youth ministry is that it should be ran with structure, order, sound biblical and
ecclesiastical conviction as it s foundation. The purpose should be to engage the youth within the
church as well. If youth do not feel engaged, they are most likely to leave the church once they are no
longer forced by parents to attend. It is important for youth leaders to know and have a comprehensive
understanding that they are evangelists. Once youth leaders understand that it s not about filling seats
at church, it s about winning souls for the kingdom and getting the youth active and engaged within
ministry.

Is Bullying A Hate Crime
Is Bullying a Hate Crime Bullying and hate crimes are extremely similar in nature. The primary
foundation on which both are rooted is targeting those who have obvious differences. Similarly,
another component that establishes bullying as a potential hate crime is that there is an obvious bias
against the victim rooted in prejudice and preconceptions. In essence, perpetrators in both scenarios
seem intent on singling out differences in others and attacking them based on them. Bullying becomes
a hate crime because it can hinder the spirit and can cause immense pain and psychological harm to
the victim of bullying. People who commit hate crimes do so out of a prejudice as does the bully.
Furthermore, bullies and hate crime offenders seek out those who are the most prone to vulnerability.

  • 2. Narrative Techniques In Ed Gonzalez s Film Close Up As said by Ed Gonzalez in his article about Close up, the movie is still definitive film on film commentary. This is proven throughout the movie with the use of shots and editing, and also with how Bazin might react to Abbas Kiarostami s film. Throughout this course so far, shots and editing have been an integral part of what has been covered. Close up has a unique approach to how it is directed. Considered a mockumentary, it has all the styles of a documentary with some twists. The close up shot creates an intimate feeling for the viewer. With a close up shot the viewer connects emotionally better with the person in the movie. Whether being interviewed, as seen in Close up, or just a person talking in a movie the feeling is stronger about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mummy complex is when cinema satisfies the desire to preserve. If he could give a reaction to this Bazin would say that this whole film is real. Due to the fact that film is supposed to be trusted in his mind and should show reality it means the film is all real. If this were the case though it would make all movies look real. There is a knowledge that film is scripted for the most part and what we see regularly is rarely real. This does preserve reality in Bazin s mind though. With the kicking of the can, it shows that although it is scripted it is not a fake movie. There is still the sense of reality in every scene. The can saves that, it preserves that sense. The mise en scene in Kiarostami s Close up leans more towards the realistic side. The aspects of this movie continually fall under the category of realistic. With the camera location for some of the shots it makes it realistic. Seeing the scenes from behind car windows or other obstacles makes the scenes real. They are real because it is like you are watching what is going on live right in front of you. The lighting of the movie makes it realistic as well. There was never really any scenes that were either too dark or too bright to make it seem fake. Even inside the courtroom it looked as if the room was true and was not altered. The outdoor scenes were controlled lighting that would be seen under any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. China s Stature As A Political As Well As Economic... Synopsis: China s stature as a political as well as economic hegemon continues to grow well into the second decade of the 21st century. This has led many to believe that the Chinese Renminbi (which is denominated in the Yuan, and hence, referred hereafter as such) may soon eclipse the United States Dollar (USD) as the World Reserve Currency (WRC). Such claims of a currency of a large economy eclipsing the USD as the WRC have been rife in the past. In its heyday, Japan s Yen was thought to have the capacity to overthrow the USD s dominating position in the 1970 s. After that, the German Mark was widely expected to do the same in the 1980 s. And later, the Euro too was theorized to be the next WRC. The major aim of this paper is to give economic and political arguments to show that the Yuan will similarly not succeed to dethrone USD as the world s most dominant currency. This essay is divided into several sections. The first section deals with defining what exactly the author means by World Reserve Currency and Dominant Currency because without underlying this, the issue becomes vague and ambiguous. The second section seeks to answer the factors affecting currency compositions of reserves across the world and will briefly argue why the USD (and not the Yuan or any other currency) continues to fit the bill as the perfect reserve currency. It is followed by section three which asks why the tag of World Reserve Currency is so important and also answers why the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Problem Statement The health status of the people in any country is a critical element in the growth of its economy as well as an important factor in the overall quality of life. AIDS tend to selectively affect women, youths, which are the vulnerable groups; it will influence a wide range of social and economic factors. In Adamawa State, agriculture is the dominant industry; high rate of infection could lead to the stagnation of the industry. Recent studies have revealed that HIV/AIDS prevalence among women and youths is increasingly worrisome. The target is the most productive group of the population (15 49 groups). 3. Literature Review and Conceptual Framework Until the early 1990 s, the empirical economic growth literature focused exclusively on the role of capital and labour (The later often augmented by schooling and technological change, but hardly ever on health as a key element of human capital (Baro, 1991). Even where a relationship has been found between indicators of health and income per capita, it has either been discounted or thought to be an indication of the impact of economic ... • 5. Essay on Feasibility of Geothermal Energy in the United... Feasibility of Geothermal Energy in the United States Abstract Over the past years, gasoline and electricity have been the leading energy resources. The search for an alternative source of energy has become a complicated problem for scientists and an economic dilemma for America s public. Scientists have been trying to recognize geothermal energy as the next leading source of energy. In this research paper, I account for the inexpensive costs and different methods of gathering the geothermal energy of America. Geothermal energy is a renewable energy resource which can heat and cool buildings. Although there are some by products, using a particular type of system can help stop their emission. In conclusion, the use of geothermal energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The pipes hold water, or glycol, transferring the heat inside buildings, which is known as heat exchange (Solar4Scolars, para. 2 and 3). Feasibility of Geothermal Energy in the United States 3 Government funded research into obtaining geothermal energy was greatly dynamic in the 1970s and early 1980s. However, as oil prices declined in the mid 1980s, alternative energy sources declined, thus, funding for geothermal energy research greatly reduced. Consequently, this monetary difficulty stifled any advancement on geothermal technology. Now that energy concerns have resurfaced, an opportunity exists for the U.S. to pursue the EGS [Enhanced Geothermal Systems] option aggressively to meet long term national needs, as observed by MIT Professor Jefferson Tester (MIT, January 22, 2007, para. 19). Based on previous studies, there is evidence that geothermal energy has a hopeful future in helping the United States. To study the potential use of geothermal energy, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) found from experimental procedures that mining heat stored as thermal energy can supply electricity at competitive prices and cause little detriment to the environment. The study showed that drilling wells that reached hot rock and connecting them to regions of fractured rock stimulated water flow. Relating to geothermal energy, this exchange of heat produced large amounts of steam and hot water to run ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Film Analysis Of Dear White People In this paper, we will discuss whether the subaltern is being heard clearly within film and television. Although in modern film we have somewhat shifted away from the former stereotypical black characters, the genuine black life is still concealed due to mainly white producers and directors. Film has come a long way from the generic social constructs including coons, mammies, and bucks, yet it has not reached its full potential as far as presenting the average African American s life. The Caucasian producers decide the nature of black life without experiencing first hand. Essentially, to get a truly authentic story, it must be expressed by those who have lived through it. Narratives should nevertheless be told by the person or persons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His actual message of wanting to be considered equal with the white man is stifled by his submission to social constructs. The sanction of this notion allows for the inferiority complex to exist. If the African American surrenders his drive for equality, white people can continue the narrative that their sovereignty is for the best. White people will find any excuse to validate colonial racism with ideas such as God created them superior or that their colonization was solely to stimulate economic growth within that particular country. Another aspect of Fanon s thoughts is that whites in the middle class treat blacks with a sense of subsidiarity to promote their own elevation. This statement can be justified with Fanon s statement, By treating the Jew as an inferior and pernicious being, I affirm at the same time that I belong to the elite. Although middle class whites are toward the outer rings of the hegemon, they criticize blacks in order to attempt to propel themselves toward the inner hegemon. • 7. Factors Assoicates with Increasing Entrepreneurship in the... Entrepreneurship in the UAE Overview The UAE has been known to be a pioneer of change, economic flourishing especially in its openness to foreign direct investments. As of 2011, the share of the self employed among the employed population is 3%, which is considerably low in comparison to countries in the region such as Jordan (16%) and Lebanon (35%) (17). Almost 93% of the Emirati population are working in the public sector 28% of whom are women with the majority being male employees (17). Another important GCC specific element to put in mind when discussing employment is the percentage of non nationals who contribute to the working population. This explains why the majority of entrepreneurs in the UAE are not Emirati nationals (18). With the high number of employment in the public sector given many incentives such as high salaries, job security, benefits and flexibility entrepreneurship remains the path less crossed due to the risks involved with taking the initiative (17). In the UAE, there are three important entities that have a strong influence on the progress of entrepreneurship and they are the government, the educational institutions, and the private sector. Another UAE specific element of doing business is the legal bureaucracy that pushes non local entrepreneurs especially to set up their start ups in the many free zones which in turn require high business license fees, along with restrictions on the number of visas given (18). The government of the UAE has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the beginning of this article, Seal told about an experiment of Jim Stigler, who was a UCLA psychologist, which tested the persistence of Japanese and American children by solving the math problem. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Indeed, from this article we recognize that the children will gain success when everybody encourages their effort and shouldn t emphasize inborn talent. Effort counts more than innate ability. After reading Seal s article which stated that Americans often thought kids are born smart while Asians more often believed that studying makes a person smarter, I was reminded my own personal beliefs on intelligence and I realized that I have thought people could get smart by exerting effort since I was in the last year of elementary school in Vietnam. Therefore, I empathized with Seal s attitude that success and achievement are a result of working hard. I could remember that I got this attitude when I was in an important final exam which decided where my middle school was in the next year that depended on my score. In this exam, the math test was an extremely difficult test for every student because it had a strange math problem which my classmates and I had never studied before. At first, I had spent for 2 hour to solve this problem, but I didn t succeed. So, I wanted to give up. However, I was worry about my score and thought about my mom, who hoped that I could get the high score enough to enter a famous middle school. • 9. Transformational Vs Servant Leadership Case Study Summary of Article Journal 2 Title: Transformational versus servant leadership: a difference in leader focus Author: A. Gregory Stone, Robert F. Russell and Kathleen Patterson The main content in the article is to compare and contrast both similarities and differences of transformational leadership and servant leadership. Transformational leadership was introduced by James MacGregor Burns (1987) and Bernard M. Bass (1985a) while servant leadership was developed by Robert Greenleaf (1997). Both leadership concepts are frequently applied or adopted by the researches and people who engage in the industry. In order to increase subordinate performance, leader who apply transformational leadership is engage in building commitment to organisation objectives and giving authority to his/her followers to achieve the defined objectives (Yukl, 1998). Transactional leadership is the other extreme of transformational leadership due to its lesser democratic authority given to followers, concern on task fulfilment and monitor performance ... Research carried out in Journal 2 showed an extensive study on servant leadership by comparing with others leadership concepts. Results of Farling et al. (1999) discovered that servant leadership depend on a spiritual base to obtain their sources of values. Study of Horsman (2001) perceived servant leadership as the prominent leadership model and recognized an association between servant leadership and the personal features of spirit. Outcomes of both researches conducted by James Laub (1999) and Rusell (2000, 2001) revealed that further empirical research should be conducted to prove the validity or accuracy of the relation between personal values and characteristic of servant leadership ... (Morris 2011) This is what we have been seeing happen to the Polar bears species. However, if we were to inform one another, we will be able to allow these species to survive and maintain their position as one of the largest land predator(s) in the world. As a result, our group had decided to analyze every aspect of Polar bears. Polar bears, whose scientific name is Ursus maritimus, is most commonly referred to as sea bear or ice bear . When newly frozen ice is too thin to support a polar bear s weight, the polar bear finds a different alternative to get across. In most cases, a polar bear will break through the ice and swim until they require oxygen. (Striling, 2011) This comes to show how they both able to survive using both mediums. Many people live their lives unhappy since they have no purpose or meaning to fulfill or satisfy their needs. Purpose to me is something to live for and something to look forward to in life. Without purpose and meaning in life there is no point of living at all. Recently in the existentialism unit we ve been reading, I learned that without a passion to live, one s life means nothing and is a waste of a soul. For instance, she is a wonderful person who can take on not only a job but also a role of being a mother to my annoying sister and me. No matter the ups and downs, she always supports me and manages to get through her life at the same time. This gives me purpose because not only she encourages me to do well in life; she is the main reason why I want to do well in life. By being herself, I go to school and do my best so in the future so I can live up to her and help her in the way she has helped me and brought me into this world. My purpose or meaning of life is because of my mom, to work hard and be successful to raise a family of my own and support my mother back when I grow up since she has done so much for me. My mom and my family give me meaning because without them I would be alone, having to create my own path without an example. • 14. How Music Has Impacted My Life Essay Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there s a poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared Leto s career is something to behold. An award winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don t be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want to do. Origins Born in Louisiana, Jared Leto attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia to pursue painting. However, he eventually dropped out and studied acting in NYC. He then transitioned to California to begin his career music ( Jared Leto: Biography ). His big break in acting came from the short lived, yet critically lauded TV series, My So Called Life (1994). Four years later, he became lead singer for his rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. As the years progressed, Leto found success in both artistic avenues. Leto s last film of the 2000s, Mr. Nobody (2009), was met with critical accolades, but marked the beginning of his hiatus from film. In 2013, Leto returned in full swing with his supporting role in Dallas Buyer s Club (2013). A commercial and critical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Marxist Formula in Emecheta s The Joys of Motherhood Marx states that we are truly free only when [people] place themselves in a position to control their own historical destiny (Slaughter 25). Britain s imperial colonization of Africa triggered vast change within the tribal civilizations thriving on the continent prior to European occupation. For the Africans, these changes altered every level of their culture: language, religion, as well as ancient tribal customs. But one of the most devastating aspects of the British colonization in Africa was the European economic system: capitalism. Capitalism left many Africans reeling from its destructive impact on tribal economies. Nowhere is this more evident than in The Joys of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emecheta criticizes European colonialism using three approaches: (1) capitalism s separation of worker and her/his product, (2) capitalism s use of organized religion to reinforce the dominant economic paradigm, and (3) Britain s conscription of Africans into military service for the colonial state during the Second World War. Emecheta reveals the exploitative and destructive power of capitalism by creating characters who sacrifice their identities and their culture to survive under a colonial system; and the only way to survive within the imperialistic structure is to excel within the capitalist organization. To accurately examine the oppressed nature of the female characters in The Joys of Motherhood, however, we must first briefly examine their tribal culture. It is also necessary to define Ibo culture in economic terms so that we have a benchmark against which to compare changes that occur within the characters as they move into the capitalist system. The Ibo tribal system that forms and influences the characters in The Joys of Motherhood is by no means free from the authorĂs criticism. The traditional tribal structure from which Nnu Ego and the other characters emerge is a rigid hierarchical, patriarchal culture; and Emecheta clearly sees the hypocrisy in criticizing the British paradigm without first ... I believe this is the deadliest toxin because it says that an ant weighs 1500 times more than the dose needed to kill an adult human. Two hundred nanograms is considered lethal, and that is a VERY small number. Tetanospasmin causes muscle spasms when it is found inside the body within the nervous system and it is produced by a bacterium called Clostridium Tetani. The reason it is deadly is because it binds to neurons permanently, and when it is bound it stops the neurotransmitters from being released from the neuron. Software developers are divided between the use of a very freshly made technology to come up with an effective plan and how to get up the scale as a competent developer without developing substantive projects. That apparently super illustrates to us the egg chicken riddle. These days, there is pretty limited time to carry out assignments, that is, days, as opposed to before when one could do a single task in months. Therefore, developers have no the luxury of learning through trial and error as it would only waste time which is also a resource in production. There should be economic time use. More so, the project idea should also be attractive to draw people in for the soup. Instead of learning through trial and error, most application builders apprentice through other established developers. They look at the source codes of these successful developers. Websites like GitHub, Microsoft and SourceForge, share a vast wealth of knowledge on coding and this is precisely the trend in which the open source community gains knowledge on codes. The realization of CodePlex has however made code distribution more effortless and intense. • 18. Cause And Effect Essay On Left Handedness The Causes and Effects of Left Handedness Observed in Individuals For thousands of years, there has been evidence of humans fascination with handedness, particularly regarding left handed individuals. In the past, southpaws have been represented as a sign of evil, mental illness, defiance, creative and music ability, and empathy. As a result of these clichĂ©s, left handers, had been alienated in the past. However, in more recent developments, psychologists and neurologists alike have investigated the potential causes of this rare trait, looking to genetics and early childhood development for answers and, more importantly, part of the effects that handedness has on left handers mentally, physically, and socially. While scientists still have not been able to find a definitive cause for becoming left handed, many believe it to be based on factors such as genetics and neurological health. For instance, one study from the University of Leicester, believes that the answer to this question lies in our genes, each person carrying a recessive gene for left handedness, either inheriting it ourselves or passing it on to future generations. Furthermore, other theories support this idea, evidencing how two left handed individuals are far more likely to produce offspring that are also dominantly left handed as opposed to two right handed individuals. However, this conjecture has yet to be proven, leaving the work of other scientists to explain this phenomenon. Fortunately, some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. An Analysis Of Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants... In Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants I found many layers of symbolism, and a fascinating psychological underplay afoot between his two characters. It begins with the girl s comment about a line of white hills seen in the distance, which she compares to white elephants. The man responds with the comment I ve never seen one. The symbolism of a white elephant is widely known as something very large or apparent that no one wishes to acknowledge or speak of in American society. It is an interesting opening to a very strained conversation concerning an apparent pregnancy, and the man s wish to terminate it. The couple s careful avoidance of actually naming the problem, or the proposed solution, suggests the situation in which a mate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an interesting note, the name wormwood derives from the German word Wermut, which translates as grievous in the English language. The man s response to her bitterness is one of irritation and he snaps at her, whereupon she promptly blames him for his lack of appreciation for her clever metaphor about the white hills; referring , most likely, to his distracted attitude. It seems likely she is accustomed to him complimenting her for her intelligence and wit, which is now not happening due to his worry over her pregnancy. He again placates her, this time by agreeing the metaphor was a bright comparison. When she softens her reference to the hill with an explanation, he makes small talk for a moment, then launches into his campaign to convince her of the banality of an abortion. At this point, Hemingway inserts her name, which suggests empathy for the girl s position. For instance, when a parent s expectation becomes too much for their child to handle, their child will be conflicted with these expectations and will feel like a disappointment. In the book, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, a young man named Chris McCandless escapes society and his family s problems by deciding to live life on the road. McCandless came from a well off family and had a natural talent for everything he did, but he had a bad relationship with his father due to his father being unfaithful to his mother. McCandless s relationship with his father was the problem that drove him to live life on the road. To McCandless and Krakauer life on the road meant going into the wild, therefore life on the road can be defined as going into the wild. Although life on the road allows people to find themselves, it is nothing more than an avoidance of life s problems. Many young people carry out activities they enjoy to discover or find themselves. Life on the road brought peace to McCandless. McCandless went on the road in his early twenties. • 24. Philip Hamilton And Alexander Hamilton s Mental Health Alexander Hamilton was one of America s foremost founding fathers. Hamilton s work in the army, in the writing of and ratification of the constitution, his creation of the bank, and his successful political career all made an important impact on early american society, most of which can still be seen today. Although Hamilton accomplished so much in his short life, his last few years were filled with horrible sufferings that would greatly affect his mental health. This degradation of Hamilton s mental health would lead historians to advertise his symptoms from traumatic experiences, suicidal tendencies, and appearances of manic depression. In order to fully understand what was happening to Hamilton s mental health in the last couple of years of Hamilton s life, one must first understand Philip Hamilton and his deadly duel with George Eacker, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr s duel, the symptoms of trauma, suicidal tendencies, and bipolar affective disorder. Philip Hamilton was Alexander and Eliza Hamilton s firstborn son. Philip was their eldest son, and he was Alexander Hamilton s pride and joy. Smart, handsome, and on an impressive path, Philip Hamilton was a rising star by the time he had graduated from college. After hearing about George Eacker s Fourth of July oration, in which Eacker criticises Hamilton s financial system, and the treasury department in general, Philip Hamilton grew unsettled and decided to confront George Eacker. Chernow describes the meeting between Philip Hamilton and George Eacker as contentious between both parties and shares of the constant threats of violence. Eventually, the two parted ways, only to result in an immediate challenge of a duel by Philip Hamilton and Richard Price. The argument between the two was harsh enough that Eacker and Price had a separate duel, albeit resulting in nothing, before Hamilton and Eacker had a duel. Eacker and Hamilton both refused to apologize, and a duel between the two was scheduled as soon as possible in New Jersey. Asking for much needed advice from his father, Philip Hamilton received the advice to wait until Eacker fired, and then raise his gun and shoot up into the air. It s imperative to consider investigating the early stages of language and communicative development in very young children with ASD for this reason. In regards to measuring early language skills in clients with Autism, generally this is done by both standardized tests and parent reports such as questionnaires or interviews. Both approaches offer valuable information about a child s linguistic skills and provide important information to predict later language outcomes. As a psychology student, I was interested in exploring the phenomenology of smoking wanted to address this matter further. This particular method can produce qualitative data and therefore a strength is that it s packed with in depth and rich information that can be analysed. Furthermore, thoughts and feelings can be deeply explored as one s view can be explained rather than rated on a number which may mean something different to each individual. As well as a strength, this is also a weakness. From rich and detailed data case studies are created due to the uniqueness of each individual. This mean that we cannot apply one s data to everyone else. In other words, we cannot generalise the data to the rest of population as there are individual differences that need to be taken into consideration. Another weakness with interviews is that it s hard to analyse and draw conclusions from as the interviewer is bombarded with information that will take time to understand to be able to conclude. In 1948, communism was the only political party in Czechoslovakia. The communist take over was a very popular movement. One reason why it was such a popular movement is because Joseph Stalin signed an agreement with Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt that stated that, the Red Army, which would then lead to pro communism, would liberate Czechoslovakia. The second reason why this was such a popular movement is because the people of Czechoslovakia remembered what happened with the Munich Agreement, where most of Czechoslovakia was surrendered to Nazi Germany in 1938. By the early 1950s, Czechoslovakia was a Soviet style dictatorship and a loyal ally of the Soviet Union (Goldman 123).
