The purpose of this pretest was to examine and compare the effectiveness of the four promotion
framed messages (1, 3, 7, 8) and the five prevention framed messages (2, 4, 6, 9, 10) determined in
pretest 1. The results of this pretest would determine the green messages used in the subsequent
studies.

each participant was randomly shown four to five advertisements of green products. Each of them
saw at least two promotion framed advertisements and two prevention framed advertisements. After
looking at each advertisement, participants were asked questions regarding their evaluation on the
advertisement s effectiveness. Finally, they were asked to answer demographic questions to assess
the potential impact of demographics on the individual s responses.

Comparing The Balconey Scene In Romeo And Juliet
The balconey scene in romeo and juliet is a well remembered scene in romeo and juliet.
Although, there are different versions of it in different movies and plays. I m comparing the
balconey scene between the original script and the 1997 movie. There are a lot of differences,
with not as many similarities. It seems as a more modern day version... There are some key
details in both the movie and the script. Some key details in the play are that romeo hides in the
darkness, and that he is stalking juliet in a way. It also takes place on a balconey near the
streets, [Seeing Juliet enter above on a balcony] (Act II Scene 2, Page 71) which is a lot more in
older days than modern. In the movie version, some key details are that romeo is hidden kind of on
a vine, not so much hidden thought.(You can see in the 1997 movie, Romeo + Juliet, directed by
Baz Luhrmann.) The setting is also on a deck and a pool. Those are some of the key details you
will need to know. Now, I will explain the differnces between the original script and the movie. One
pretty noticible differenceis that the setting is a lot different. In the script, the setting is on the
balconey, and is definetly a way less modern version, almost like a cliche love scene. In the 1997
movie, the setting isn t even on a balcony, it is on a back porch with a pool. This takes away the
whole cliche love scene in the original script, and as i feel takes awaay some of the meaning of the
original. It also is a lot more

successful career in hollywood unlike others alongside him. In 2003 Ferrell found great success
playing buddy in the movie Elf, along with anchorman (2004), Talladega Nights (2006) Blades of

intensely private Ferrell hasn t been afraid to put his politics out front.

Imperialism In Ww2
Prior to the outbreak of the Second World War, a number of Western nations had colonies in
Southeast Asia, but as the century progressed there was more and more opposition to colonial rule
in the form of nationalism. Through their Asia for Asians policy, as well as their destruction of the
myth of European supremacy, Japanese involvement in East Asiacreated the perfect breeding
ground not only for nationalist movements, but for the spread of communism.
While communism was a growing influence in these nations, it was still considered one of many
nationalist movements, rather than the driving force. Once Japan would seize control of territory
from the Western forces they would portray Japanese colonialism as an Asian liberation movement
(the Asia for Asians policy) from their white oppressors. Additionally, the Japanese would routinely
install puppet governments with anti colonial leaders at the head in an attempt to eliminate all
traces of Western rule, and show Asian nations that they were capable of governance without the
interference of Europeans.
Following the defeat of the Japanese in 1945, many of the imperial nations desired ... Show more

Comparing Shakespeare s Hamlet and Marlowe of Conrad s...
Comparing Shakespeare s Hamlet and Marlowe of Conrad s Heart of Darkness Prince Hamlet,
of Shakespeare s famed tragedy, and Marlowe of Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, are similarly
situated characters. Despite superficially different settings and plots, there is a remarkably similar
thematic element shared between both works. Prince Hamlet and Marlowe are brought to the very
brink of insanity by their immersion in worlds gone mad, yet still succeed. At their roots, the
similarities of the environments they are immersed in are remarkable. Whether their environment is
a too too sullied (1057) Royal Danish court, or the dark madness of a murderous Congolese jungle,

Not only are the natures and causes of the evil present in both Hamlet and Heart of Darkness
remarkably similar, but also each character s introduction to it. Interestingly, Prince Hamlet and
Marlowe share a certain naГЇvetГ© when they first come upon their evils. Hamlet returns home
after hearing of his father s death from studies in Wittenberg, not yet knowing the cause of his
death. Marlowe sets off from Brussels to explore a blank space...a place of darkness (1618), with
an innocent childhood dream to explore the reaches of civilization. Neither man could have known
the immense corruption and evil that awaited them at their destination, but both would quickly
learn. Hamlet returns to Denmark to quickly find that a hasty incestuous marriage between his
widowed mother and his uncle would all too quickly follow his own father s funeral. Perhaps the
most significant sign that all was not right in Denmark was the apparition of the slain former
King. Hamlet s father s apparition is viewed by Hamlet and his company as an open sign that
something is rotten in the state of Denmark (1068). From this first revelation, Hamlet learns by
degrees of the evil that attempts to hide itself behind the legitimate passing on of the throne.
Hamlet gets a first glimpse of the evil in the appearance of the restless soul of his father, later, more
so with that ghost s revelation of the murderous truth to Hamlet, up until Hamlet s own observation
of Cladius unique

The Importance Of Youth Work Activities
During our time studying in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu critical decisions regarding youth
work practice were made. One of these decisions was staying to wait for our boat to the island of
Savo. Many of the group woke up early to be at the port in time to catch our boat to be told that
we would be waiting at least another hour. During the wait the group found a comfortable spot and
relaxed. After the hour ended the group went back to the port in time to catch the boat however, we
ended up waiting another 45 minutes there as the boat needed fuel. Although waiting in humid 30
degree heat is difficult, patience and resilience were shown by all group members and it provided
an important learning opportunity for me which I will take into my youthwork practice. This wait
was not our first nor last in the Pacific Islands and by the end of the trip I understood what island
time was.
By waiting for the boat without complaint the group embraced the relaxed Pacific Islander
culture. This had positive effects throughout the day as once we had left the port, the day ran
smoothly. Any issue with the wait may have caused tension between the group and Paul or David
who were our tour guides for the day. This was not the first time the group had been kept waiting
on the trip, although we had only been there for a few days. The first was on our initial night in
Honiara at the church, in which the service started 45 minutes to an hour late. During this wait I
asked the young person I was

China s Trade Regulation Policies
Trade regulation policies are paramount for any country to progress in today s global world. The
fast paced economic activities of the 21st century has forced numerous countries to re evaluate
their trade regulation policies, primarily based on their specialization and global niche markets.
This article will focus on two separate case studies of China and Ethiopia. Throughout this article
we will discuss the past history and prevailing trade regulation policies of these countries and how
these polices have affected the macro and micro economic operations within these countries. Trade
regulation policies can vary based on the imports and exports of the country. China is one of the

This means a growth in imports from nations China is already in good relation with, while on the
other hand it has raised its tariff for agricultural products and decreased its tariff for non
agricultural goods. Through this policy, China is trying to strengthen its domestic market for
agricultural goods while it is ready to rely on the international products of non agricultural nature.
Some of the non agricultural goods with decreased import tariffs include garments, footwear, and
skin care products. Import tariffs on suits and fur skin products are lowered from 14 percent to 7
percent. While China has decided to become liberal with its regulation policies, it is careful to
avoid dumping and hence may impose anti dumping policies on goods it fears would threaten
Chinese national industries. This policy is important in terms of preserving national industries and
their stability. Such a policy helps restore balance and confidence within the economy. This sense
of security will improve local performances. China is also very careful on the import of demerit
goods, such as alcohol and tobacco. Consumption tax is applied to similar products because of their
prevailing harmful effects and increased demand in the market. Consumption tax helps increase the
price and reduce market demand. China has also removed most of the quota and licensing
requirements from most of the imports. While this will increase the influx of imported goods, this
might actually harm the domestic

Complexity Is Defined By The American Heritage Dictionary
Complexity is defined by The American Heritage Dictionary as the state or condition of being
intricate or complex. Something that is complex is further defined as a configuration consisting of
interconnected or interwoven parts that are complicated. Complicated is then defined as that which
is difficult to understand or analyze. And finally by definition, to understand means to know
through experience and comprehend the nature, significance or intended meaning within a causal
framework. It is important to note from the above definitions that complexitydoes not merely mean
not simple . It is also critical to realize that the complexity of the systemmust be related to a
perspective of understanding as it related to a logical causal... Show more content on

So these emergent rules of complexity are not strictly physical laws in the Newtonian sense but
rather arise from the logical constructs, functioning and control of the overall system directive
which is in turn dependent on the governance of physical laws.
Note the role of the observer in this definition and the reliance upon its ability to process and
interpret information. Because of this dependence on a capacity of comprehension by the observer,
a complex system can be considered organized or disorganized. Most people would agree that
complex systems usually have many parts. However, the way those parts interrelate might be
difficult to discern. In fact, there is somewhat of a disconnection between complexity and
organization that centers around the observers understanding of the logical causal framework of
the system. Warren Weaver posited that disorganized or disordered complexity exists when there
are a large number of parts within the system that appeared to interact randomly. Like a mixed
solution of chemicals in a glass beaker or gas molecules within a closed container. The emergent
properties of such a system (color, temperature, viscosity, etc.) can be understood by solely using
probability and statistical methods to describe the interactions of the individual components. By
contrast organized or ordered complexity

advertising, all RFQs must be sent to our sales administrator for processing purposes. In Step1:
Response to quote request, a modular design should be used for new products. This would cut
the time in designing, reducing parts and abridging assembly for CCC s engineering team. As
well as eliminating errors from 40% to 0. The TSS should also be using the ERP system to check to
see if materials and shipping options are available; so that a better quote package can be

to enter data. This step needs to be taken as soon as possible. Mistakes are costly and having
25% in errors are not acceptable so if we trim the timing of entering the data CCC still has
wiggle room to produce the sales order package effectively and have material arrive on time . In
Step 4: Work order Entry and Release to Stockroom, this step is perfect. It s important to keep
both ERP and MRP systems up to date so every department knows what is going on.

Django Unchained Essay
For the movie assignment in this class I felt it was best to pick a film that I was very familiar
with. After careful consideration of a few of my personal favorite movies I choses the film Django
Unchained. I chose this film because of how the elements of it line up with this assignment in a
major way. This filmhas both elements of good and bad characters and it is also a heroic story of
good beating bad.
To properly understand this movie it is important to first list the characters by good and bad roles.
In the good rules were characters such as Django and Dr. King Schultz. In the bad roles were
characters such as Calvin Candie and Stephen. The correlation between these two sets of characters
helped the movie become what is in a drastic way.
Much like many movies in the Django Unchained the good character often had to do bad things to
help accomplish the goal at hand. A great example of this in Django happens when Dr. Shultz
offers to buy D Artagnan from Candie in order to save his life. In this moment Django stops Dr.
Shultz because this purchase may expose their real intentions for making company with Candie. In

These elements often times come to light during very defining moments in the movie. In the
case of Django Unchained this fact is no different. For example, one element that defined Dr.
Shultz as a good guy was the fact that when he purchasing Django out of slavery he also freed all
of the slaves that were there. The shows his true sense of compassion towards the freedom of
slaves because he could ve simply purchase Django and one about his day. And example of good
in Django s character happens later in the movie when he avenges the death of D artagnan. While
he openly let him die earlier in the movie he avenges his death later because he knows that his death
was unjust and that his actions will stop future slaves from going through the same

Should Triumph of the Will Be Considered a Documentary or...
Triumph of the will is a film of the 1934 Nazi Rally at Nuremburg. It was directed by Leni
Riefenstahl and funded by the Nazi party. The question of whether Triumph of the Will was
created for the purpose of Nazi propaganda or simply as a documentary has provoked historical
debate. There is no doubt that the film was used as propaganda, as when the Nazi s annexed
Austria, triumph of the will was streamed in every cinema to convert the disillusioned Austrians
into practising Nazis. However, historians have questioned the intentions of the film s creator. Leni
Riefenstahl was found to be a Nazi Sympathiser by the French in 1950, but, her reluctance to
accept that the film was created as propaganda has triggered a debate among historians... Show

The third flaw in Leni s argument is that she claimed to be showing the congress through a non
expert eye, however the film techniques employed in Triumph of the will show otherwise. It is
hard to believe that she didn t know anything about the Nazi ideology as she had emphasised
aspects of Nazi beliefs highlighted in Hitler s 1924 book Mein Kampf. The opening scene of
Triumph of the will shows Hitler s plane flying above white, pillowy clouds that possess every
connotation linked to heaven. This flying through heaven has been accompanied with mystical,
fairy tale like music adding to the spiritual undertones of the man that had begun his plunge into
the disillusioned world that he was there to save. If Leni was simply going to make the film
artistic, why would she specifically choose Hitler to descend through the clouds and into
Nuremburg where people were screaming for their fuhrer. She didn t choose this imagery as a
mistake, she wanted to show that Hitler attained Jesus like qualities. And if she was simply filming
the rally as a documentary, why was it so important to show Hitler flying through the clouds, as at
this point, the rally

G Metallireducens Research Paper
Kilometers underground, microbes live to tell the tale without oxygen or daylight via feeding on
metals such as iron and manganese. One of these simple microorganisms, Geobacter
metallireducens, comes with an uncommon survival tactic for a lifetime in the underworld: it
makes use of a sensor in order to sniff out metals. In case steel is not nearby, G. metallireducens
can spontaneously develop flagella whip like cellular propellers to discover new energy sources.
Metal inhaling microbes are furthermore beneficial sharers. Different Geobacter species can build
the network, allowing them to trade resources (Dalke, 2002).
When living cells make energy, they make electrons, and these must be dumped somewhere.
Humans breath air and use oxygen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If they run out of dissolved metals, they have a plan b. By looking at the genome sequence of
another metal eating microbe of the same genus, scientists have now discovered that G.
metallireducens contains genes for flagella. The flagella genes surprised the scientists who had
never seen G. metallireducens swim. Looking back, the researchers realized that in past motility
experiments the organism had only been grown on soluble metals. After performing experiments
with insoluble metals, such as iron oxide, the team found their plan B. that G. metallireducens
indeed develop a flagellum and swim around looking for any metallic, dissolved or solid.
Furthermore, in order to exchange their electrons to strong metals, they develop nanowires referred
to as pili. Quite simply, they re electric. Metal inhaling microbes are also beneficial sharers,
different Geobacter species can build a community, making it possible for them to trade resources.
For example, one might be able to consume the surrounding nutrients but have nowhere to dispose
of its electrons. In addition, the other might have nothing to eat, but the right wires to dispose of
electrons. Together, in a pili network pulsing with electricity, they work collectively to stay in
existence (Dalke,

Analysis Of Wembley Stadium Project Management
A project is a temporary endeavour that creates a unique result. Time, budget, resources, and
performance specifications, to meet requirements made by stakeholders, limit a project (Project
Management Institute, 2013, pg.3). Project management is the application of tools, techniques, and
knowledge to help achieve the three main constraints of scope, cost and time (Project Management
Institute, 2013, pg.5). This applies managerial process and gives project managers the
opportunity to make a project successful. However, there are still numbers of project failures
both big and small projects. This failure does not only affect finances but also demoralizes
employees who have laboured diligently to complete the work. The case of Wembley Stadium
project failure will be analyzed in this paper to illustrate project management difficulties a project
can encounter if appropriate tools and techniques are not successfully developed, implemented,
and evaluated within the project management processes. The major problems concerning the
Wembley Stadium project were scope, time, cost, quality, and stakeholder issues (Carter, 2002).
However, this paper would be focusing on scope, time and cost issues. The format of this paper
will include the project analysis, which will provide brief description of the Wembley stadium
project, and main reasons why the project failed. This will be followed by the analysis of how the
issue of the project failure is related to project management knowledge

Political Action Committees ( Pacs )
Political action committees (PACs) have gained influence throughout political history. However,
their gain of influence does not play a role in their acceptance from political parties. People
believe political action committees influence the legislature. Political action committees raise
money for political campaigns and other political issues. As Elizabeth Drew said, The process by
which Congress is supposed to function have been distorted, if not overwhelmed, by the role of
money. The ability of even the best of legislators to focus on broad questions, to act independently,
or to lead has been seriously impaired. This leads to people believing political action committees
influence political official s views on issues in the government. The increase in political action
committees are said to influence and help the political officials that are going to run for office
again, because they want to get more money from the political action committees for their next
political campaign. However, the supporters of political action committees say they allow average
citizens the right to let their voices be heard in the political process. Another argument political
action committees express is the First Amendment. The people who support certain candidates
believe that donating money is an act of Freedom of Speech. Still many people oppose them. There
is a bipartisan consensus on the dislike of political action committees. It may be said that political

Southwest Airlines And United Airlines
Mission Statement Analysis
Southwest Airlines and United Airlines have been direct competitors in the airline business for a
number of years. As time has passed, we have seen Southwest take a more Servant Leadership
minded approach, while United decided upon a more traditional style of Leadership. From their
mission statements, along with reviews from flyers and profitability, to the overall culture of the
companies, we look to see how these two airlines compete, and which one comes out on top.
Mission Statements

Not only was the mission statement or core values difficult to find, but the page had a vague title

not because they are values followed by the actual organization. Both Airlines include words about
customer service and treating them well, but Southwest put it simply and concisely. United seemed
more focused on impressing readers with their core values. I believe that the Southwest mission
statement impacts the culture of the organization by being a definition of what it should look like.
Comparatively, I believe that United s core values impact the culture very little if not at all.
Principles
Southwest Airlines is dedicated to incorporating all servant leadership principles throughout their
organization. Accordingly, their mission statement is clear and concise it evidently exemplifies all
principles and acknowledges a servant led organization. Their mission statement embraces their
commitment to serve the highest quality of customer service through a sense of warmth,
friendliness, individual pride, and company spirit (Southwest, 2014). Therefore, through Southwest
s mission statement it makes it explicitly apparent that they seek to listen and commit to the growth
of their people. Southwest empathizes with their employees because they are dedicated to providing

Integrative And Analytical Tools For The Business
Integrative and Analytical Tools To be successful in any modern business there are a few things
that must take place. The company has to get oriented; it needs to identify the primary
objectives of the business, as well as define the scope, and finally perform both internal and
external analysis of the operations. Each of these things has their place and since our company
is one of the best out there, the first three have already been established. What we are here today
to do is to perform the analysis portion. There are many different forms of analysis tools for the
company to choose from. Some of the heavy hitters are the SWOT or strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threat tool. The MOST analysis tool focuses on the mission, the objectives, the
strategies and the tactics in order for the company to meet its needs. The last tool that will be
discussed here is the PEST analytical tool. PEST stands for political, economic, sociological, and
technological. Breaking each one of these into more details can show the level of value each one
has in the analytical world. The SWOT analysisis most often used in the beginning stages of a
company. The main area of focus is the external and internal factors to identify where the best
opportunities for improvement are. The SWOT tool also helps point out danger areas and where
improvements can be made. The first area the tool analyze are the company s strength. This is
where your company has an advantage over the

Challenges Of Air Freight Demand And Potential Solutions...
Challenges in Air Freight Demand and Potential Solutions
1.Introduction
Air freight market is not stable and might be weak because of uncertain international trade increase
(Barnard,2015). There was fluctuation in air cargo demand over the last 10 years from 2006 to
2016 which indicates that cargo demand could be changed by some external and internal influences.
Some figures were released about worldwide air freight market and presented that air cargo
capacity increased 2.2%, comparing to 2014. While this was the 5% growth calculated by The
International Air TransportAssociation (IATA), the growth of cargo volumes in 2015 was much
slower than 2014(Barnard, 2015). However, some experts pointed out that global air freight market
get a positive growth from 2011, and it is enjoying a relatively steady growth, due to the enhanced
trade and economic recovery after the global financial crisis of 2008(Huang,2016). Because of
sluggish world trade growth, air cargo suppliers face a lot of challenges including alternative
transportation, perspective uncertainty and unexpected policy and here are some potential

issues of the teeth and surrounding tissues in the mouth and also providing insight to prevent
future dental problems (Dentist Job Description Job Descriptions). The role of dentists in society
is to monitor oral hygiene of patients in order to prevent gum disease which can further lead to
heart disease, ultimately reducing casualties from oral cancers and heart disease (Gum Disease

dental school. After graduating dental school and passing the National Board Dental Examinations,
a written and clinical examination, one can get licensed through your State Board of Dentistry.

regards to special education, the parental involvement MUST be there. Parents need to make sure

do know students pretty well but they don t see what the child is like at home or sometimes get to
see the student s true personality. Teachers can effectively choose assistive technology for students
but, what works for one student may not work for all. This is where the parental involvement needs
to kick in. For example: a student may suffer from speech difficulties and can communicate a little
with sign language. The teacher can say switch to a communication board with the parentmight say

The Narrative Of The Life Of Olaudah Equiano s ``...
Slavery for many was a time of despair and anguish, it felt like hell not only by the heat of the
sun, but, by the treatment many received from their owners as well. Despite written almost 100
years apart, two of the most famous and well known slave narratives that give the modern day
reader just an idea of what slaverywas like are, Aphra Behns Oroonoko, or, The Royal Slave and
Olaudah Equianos The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano . The journey of
these two young men, although in many ways are similar, from a larger perspective could not
be more different. For Oroonoko a somewhat established young man who comes from royalty,
optimizes what it means to be a noble savage. As for a young Equiano who seems to spend most
of his childhood in slavery, must find a way to overcome the hand he has been dealt and work
hard to earn his freedom. Throughout both of these stories there are similarities and there are
differences as well. Some of the most interesting aspects that might stand out to the reader are, the
aspect of slavery and or the lack of it, suicide and how both characters go about it in their own
way and points of view and how the reader is influenced by it. One of the aspects that seems most
intriguing in both of these stories is that of slavery and or the lack of it. It is obvious that
throughout both stories, Oroonoko and Equiano are very much surrounded by slavery, however
throughout both stories the two main characters never seem to

The Poem Barbie Doll By Marge Piercy
The poem Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy in relation to diversity alludes to specific aspects of
gender, mainly targeting the female gender perspective and expectations. In the poem, Piercy is
writing about a young girl transitioning from a child to a women and how society and its idea
of beauty affects her. My interpretation of the poem is that the girl is basically crying out for
help saying look I am healthy, intelligent, and strong but no one sees or cares about those things
because the only thing they see when they look at her is her outside appearance and what
society considers to be the flaws that she possesses. Although this was written in 1936 Piercy
accurately describes the feeling of being defined or constricted by society to think, act, and look
a particular way which is similar to that of todays society which is fueled by social media, where
some find personal gratification and self confidence fueled from likes and retweets they receive.
Barbie doll is the perfect title for this poem because for the longest time a Barbie was a sign of
something perfect and beautiful, a toy enjoyed by everyone and a conventional symbol for little
girls all over the United States. Similarly the girl was conforming to be sort of like the Barbie doll
in a way because of societal expectations and the want to be viewed in a particular light by ones
peers.

The Development Of Bilingual Literacy Practices
During Phase 2, Moore and MacDonald focused their research on this research question: How is
Halq emГ©ylem being revitalized within a British Columbia Aboriginal Head Start program where
Aboriginal teachers of the language are not themselves fluent in the language of instruction? In
order to answer this question, the researchers performed a series of observations and video
recording over a period of one year. This observations took place during various community events.
The discussion of the findings develops through a framework to understand the development of
bilingual literacy practices in a minoritized context. The authors found a blend of traditional
Aboriginal practices with contemporary teaching methodology. Elders and parents re appropriate
their own ancestral language, and reshaped the language classroom into a multilingual space for
learning. Particular literacy practices were found in the StГі:lЕЌ Head Start program where Halq
emГ©ylem was taught by reading and attending the writing code while signing. These practices
were enforced by aiming the parents to reinforce Halq emГ©ylem language and literacy practices at
home. The authors conclude by stating the importance of this study by challenging the existing
hierarchies of knowledge and knowledge creation through multiple languages wherever they occur
and suggests directions in which we might understand and make use of languages and multiple
literacies as powerful resources for further learning and as ways to

The Hubble Space Telescope is one of the most amazing machines in orbit right now. In 1946, an

extravagant because no one had yet launched a rocket into outer space. As the US space program

would change astronomy for ever. In 1977, Congress approved funding for the development of the

The game of netball originated back in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts, when a 30 year old

When the female version of basketball was first introduced, women used broomsticks for goal posts

When a child enters the formal education system, unfortunately this rich environment of learning

There are five major characteristics of simulations:
Simulations are problem based units of learning that are set in motion by a particular task, issue,
policy, crisis, or problem. The problems to be addressed by the participant may be either implicit or
explicit, depending on the nature of the simulation. The issues inherent in the simulation are not
textbook problems or questions in which answers are cut and dried and determined quickly.
Participants carry out functions associated with their roles and the settings in which they find
themselves. The outcomes of the simulation are not determined by chance or luck. Instead,
participants experience consequences that follow from their own actions. Participants experience
reality of function to the extent that they fulfill their roles conscientiously and in a professional

Explaining the Gospel of Mark
When I read Mark during church we would read the long ending, at the time I didn t know the
difference between the endings. I was confused to why there were three different parts to it and
they were broken up as if they were supposed to be a new verse. When I asked the leader of the
class she couldn t give me an explanation. With the research I have done I feel that I have come to
a conclusion as to which ending is the most correct and why there are multiple endings.
When the Sabbath was over, Mary the mother of James, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where
Jesus had been buried. A large stone closed off the entrance and when they arrived the stone had
been moved. An angel appeared to them and told them not to be alarmed for Jesus had risen. But,
they were alarmed and when the angel told them to go tell the disciples and Peter that Jesus had
risen they were afraid, ran away, and didn t tell anyone.
The gospel of Mark ends rather abruptly at verse 16:8, in the middle of a sentence but according
to Mann the beginning also started very abruptly means it could still have been written by Mark.
In this ending Mary and Mary the mother of James are headed to the tomb where Jesus has been
buried, they are bringing spices to anoint the body of Jesus. According to Harrington this is rather
odd because it is not custom for someone to anoint a deceased person a day and two nights after the
death. Also the fact that they were bringing the spices to anoint him means that they

Pfew Personal Narrative
The summer of 2017, a couple months before my senior year, presented an opportunity that
initiated with a wave of uncomfortableness. A few months prior to the last day of junior year, an
energetic camp counselor advertised a summer business intensive called PFEW; Pennsylvania Free
Enterprise Week. She pitched the idea that this summer camp would boost my collegeresume,
provide plenty of chances to mingle with new students, and gain an insight into the business world.
Without much of a thought, I completed an application form and crossed my fingers as I waited
for an email of confirmation. Finally, my fate was sealed, an email popped up in my inbox that I
was accepted into the first week of PFEW. It was a balmy July morning when my family and I
drove out to Lycoming College to begin my week at PFEW. An uneasy feeling set in as I
realized that I will be surrounded by strangers in an uncommon environment for a whole seven
days. Adding onto this stress was the fact that I have never been away from my parents for more
than one night. Upon my arrival, all of the camp participants were ushered to a large auditorium
and given a welcome presentation. Looking around at all the unfamiliar faces, I felt the urge to call
my parents and avoid... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, the hard work paid off and we were very pleased with the results. Later in the evening, a
banquet was held to announce the winning groups of the week. Though we did not walk away
with a prize, the gain of companionship and knowledge was the biggest reward of my experience
at PFEW. I learned more in depth information about running a business then I could have learned
from a typical high school course. I also learned about myself in the way that I was fit to lead a
group of strangers and can wave the feeling of uncomfortableness away in order to enjoy an

Essay on The Terri Schiavo’s Case Analysis
The Terri Schiavo s Case Analysis When a patient is unable to make decisions for himself or
herself, their caregivers and those who know them are appointed to make the decisions based on
what the patient would have wanted. This is called surrogate decision making. According to the
article Terri Schiavo and End of Life Decisions when surrogate decision makers and caregivers
cannot agree upon what that choice would have been, they may turn to the courts to determine
either what the now incapacitated patient would have chosen or who is best suited to choose as
the patient would have (Mathes, 2005) In 1990 Terri Schiavo suffered cardiac arrest at age 27, due
to hypokalemia secondary to an eating disorder. Terri suffered severe... Show more content on

The story of Terri brings about many questions that represent ethical, moral and legal issues.
Such issues include her quality of life, best interest, the fact that Terri had no living will, and of
course, family conflict. If I had to make the decision on what to do in Terri Schaivo s case I
would do what Michael Schiavo had done, I would fight to have the feeding tube removed. I
believe that if a person has no quality of life and is in a PVS state, they have no feelings, they
feel no pain, and they are not aware of their surroundings. According to the article Terri Schiavo
and End of Life Decisions Terri could not continue both to be alive and be free from invasive
medical procedures (Mathes, 2005) I feel keeping them alive is unfair to them and to their loved
ones. I also believe that the surrogate decision maker should follow the best interest standard,
which is, given the medical facts and prognosis, make decisions that would be in the best
interests of the patient. (Hook Mueller, 2005) There was a lot of evidence and proof from the
doctors in regards to the fact that Terri was not going to get better, there were no medical
interventions left that could help her. Prolonging treatment for Terri would not have changed her
quality of life or made it better. In my opinion, Michael Schiavo acted properly as a surrogate
decision maker because first of all, he followed her previously spoken wishes and views and,
second of all, he acted in her

Aldrich, R. (2004). Homosexuality and the city: an historical overview. Urban Studies, 41(9), 1719

Aldrich gives a historical overview of the history of homosexuality. He goes back to the Roman
times and discusses Sodom and Gomorrah and continues to the present day. He makes mention of
how homosexuals left various cities to escape the traditional life constraints and went to other cities
to begin transforming the city into much construction of the gay and lesbian culture.

This article addresses the way people view homosexuality. It mentions how society has had to add
on identities in order to satisfy the different labels that have been added to acknowledge the unique
features of those within the realm of homosexuality. It expresses the many different ways people
define homosexuality before stating the author s stance on the issue. The author goes more in depth
when she mentions the Civil Rights movement and how we had to give people equal opportunities
based on race. She ties that into treating homosexuals as equals because regardless of their sexual
orientation, they, too, are humans.
Siker, J. S. (1994). How to decide?: Homosexual Christians, the Bible, and gentile inclusion.
Theology Today, 51, 219 234.
The article mentions how some people that discriminate on homosexuality are mostly loving the
sinner but hating the sin. The author gives both points of view on how people on opposing sides
may view this controversial issue. He mentions examples from the Bible and interprets it in
different ways stating that people generally interpret the Bible based on the beliefs that they
already have. His stance seems to be that God created all people therefore; people should recognize
the God given legitimacy of the homosexual orientation. He compares homosexuality to alcoholism,
mentioning that no sin is greater than another. If we can accept recovering

Pathetic Fallacy In The War Of The Worlds
HG Wells The War Of The Worlds
HG Wells uses literacy techniques in The War Of The Worlds to add tension and create a better
more frightening atmosphere. He uses four main types of literacy techniques that are:
В· Juxtaposition
В· Pathetic fallacy
В· Omniscient viewpoint
В· And cliffhangers
The meaning of these are as followed:
В· Juxtaposition this is where two completely different facts are put next to each other to make a
comparison that stands out clearly and completely changes the atmosphere.
В· Pathetic fallacy this is where the weather matches the mood of some one.
В· Omniscient viewpoint the author and the reader knows what is going to happen but the
character does not.

In the 1800`s civilization was the most important thing. If a man did not wear a hat he was
accused of being poor and even if he was middle class a hat and a suit was the only way of
recognizing status. Clothes were the way in which people could tell if you were rich or poor. In
the book when the man loses his hat no one helps him and suspects him of just being a poor person
begging. Civilization starts to break down in this book not that far off from when the Martians
come to earth.
People start being selfish and getting themselves out of harms way and do not even try to bother
helping the women and children. That was a mans duty to make sure, in any danger, to save his
wife and children.
The main character of this book outbids another buyer in a public house for buying the horse and
cart. He gets away with it. When he goes back to the town guilt rises upon him as he finds the
landlord who he bought the horse and cart off dead It was the landlord of the
Spotted Dog, whose conveyance I had taken . In the wreck of this little town and soon to be more
social convention had broken down.
People of the church and vicars are losing faith and are starting to flee. Doctors who have swore the
oath of loyalty to help all people in need have broken down and fled.
The country is on full alert and the city of London is in a very chaotic state. The atmosphere
created in this episode has a sense of drams and

Social Class Analysis
When trying to establish ones self in society we are typically concerned with what kind of social
class or rank we fall into. In society, people attempt to define themselves according to specific
social class by what kind of things they own or how they may act. The theory of conspicuous
consumption coined by the Norwegian American economist and sociologist Thorstein Veblen can
help realize a further understanding in social classes and how they influence people. In essence,
the overall goal of conspicuous consumption is to demonstrate superiority over some other group
of people or social class. Typically when someone is referred to as a redneck it is not exactly a
good thing. When classifying someone under a certain class status we usually consider the things
they buy/own, where they live, how they act,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However even though it can have a great influence, economic status does not solely define
someone s social class. In order to maintain a certain social class one must adhere to a set of
standards set by society for that social class. When considering JD8 s various home improvement
projects, they do not meet the social class qualifications that the author believes he and the rest of
the people that live in the neighborhood belong to. For JD8, it does not matter if his home
improvement project has a positive or negative effect on the appearance of his home but just rather
does the end result of the project do what it is supposed to do. Though for the author appearance is
just as important as functionality as well. According to Erving Goffman, cultivation restrictions are
where the difference in opinion between JD8 and the author lie. In the sense of sophistication of
furnishings, JD8 s home improvement projects do not meet the tastes of the author and therefor
influence JD8 s social class according to the

Applying Kathy s Rational Choice Theory
Another aspect of rational choice theory is the amount of pleasure that is received form a crime.
Receiving pleasure from a crime can be a sexual gratification, monetary rewards that make one
happy, or any other enjoyable aspect an individual receives from committing a crime. If there is
pleasure involved in the crime, then the offender is more likely to keep committing a crime
whereas if someone commits a crime and there was little to no pleasure involved in it, they will
be less likely to keep committing the crime. Kathy committed her crimes over several years and
was receiving pleasure from her crimes as she was making money and taking jewelry from clients,
which she then used to fund her lavish lifestyle of vacations and shopping. The... Show more

determining what brought on criminality, rather than the outdated nature vs nurture debate
(Tibbetts Hemmens, 2015). Biosocial perspectives consist of emotional support growing up, the
environment one grew up in and antisocial behaviours that stem from this. Biosocial perspectives

During my third visit to the Lighthouse of Hope, I realized that I was getting used to moving

Abortions should be illegal in the United States. Abortions have been occurring since the 1800`s.
They were banned in the 1880 s except to save the life of the women. However, the Supreme Court
ruled in 1973, in the case Roe vs Wade that abortion is legal in the first trimester. I disagree with
this ruling because it is morally wrong. Secondly, every human being must be responsible for their
actions. Lastly, there are many options available to prevent becoming a parent. We have to right to
decide when we want to become a parent, but not if it involves terminating another human life.
Human life begins at conception and so abortion is murder. God created every human being in his

The Effects of Migration
Tahar Ben Jelloun, a Moroccan writer, states: Migration is no longer a solution; it s a defeat.
People are risking death, drowning every day, but they re knocking on doors that are not open.
Probably, the author is right because most of the migrants even do not know what awaits them in a
new country. Before thinking about the effects of migration, people should draw a distinction
between emigrationand immigration. The immigration is beneficial, whereas the emigration is
totally disadvantageous for a country. People from industrially backward regions do not value
their current lifestyle and conditions, and they cannot resist the lure of a wonderful life in
economically advanced countries. Without thinking about the consequences that will follow their
decision, people decide migrate from own motherland. And more likely these consequences will
be negative not only for emigrants but also for countries people are going to leave and migrate
to. Such a movement of people may leave a dent on the economics of the host countries, and on
the society and customs of the left countries. In 21st century, it is already time to start actions in
order to decrease the incidence of migration. Although for some people emigration is helpful to
solve their own personal problems, it is obvious that it may lead to several effects like social
devastation, brain drain and increasing the level of economy. Foremost, emigration is guilty for
emerged social and cultural devastation. Allowing own

Essay Television Violence
Television Violence
Violence is one of the most primary and controversial issues in today s society. And true that
violence is on the rise. A major concern for many parents is the violence within television shows
and movies, and the effect on children s aggression. I particularly do not believe that violence in
television affects children s aggression, but who am I to say such a thing, for I am not a qualified
psychologist. But I have many reasons for my accusation and references to back it up. Now
television plays a major role in today s society, and it occupies almost every home in the United

Cartoons play the majority of the role. They have been around for centuries. So why make such a
big deal about them now? Are the cartoons in earlier years any different from newer cartoons? Yes
I agree, but there is a purpose. The
Monaco 2 newer cartoons attract the newer generation. If parents say that cartoons now are more
violent than those of earlier years than why are there so many, and so many different ratings
accompanied with the beginning of every show. What about Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck with
Elmer Fudd, and how many fights and hunting scenes there was. What about Road Runner and
how many times Wylie Coyote tried to kill him. All these cartoons amused many children in
earlier years and present years. So why start complaining now? Can parents not control their
children? Maybe parents should pay more close attention to what their children watch, instead of
making excuses and blaming others for practically their own decisions. Because it was their
decision to have children, right? Like all children s shows and movies, it let s the mind run free,
and also let s the children be imaginative within their own realm of mind. So let s not take these
away, and just try to limit what they watch. Let us rate these shows and movies. Oh yeah, the
government did that. But yet parents still let children watch the movies and shows that they did not
want to watch in the first place. Is there something wrong here? Parents complain, laws are passed

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frying
Frying is one of the dehydration process. It is a process of heat transfer and mass transfer occur

  • 5. Comparing The Balconey Scene In Romeo And Juliet The balconey scene in romeo and juliet is a well remembered scene in romeo and juliet. Although, there are different versions of it in different movies and plays. I m comparing the balconey scene between the original script and the 1997 movie. There are a lot of differences, with not as many similarities. It seems as a more modern day version... There are some key details in both the movie and the script. Some key details in the play are that romeo hides in the darkness, and that he is stalking juliet in a way. It also takes place on a balconey near the streets, [Seeing Juliet enter above on a balcony] (Act II Scene 2, Page 71) which is a lot more in older days than modern. In the movie version, some key details are that romeo is hidden kind of on a vine, not so much hidden thought.(You can see in the 1997 movie, Romeo + Juliet, directed by Baz Luhrmann.) The setting is also on a deck and a pool. Those are some of the key details you will need to know. Now, I will explain the differnces between the original script and the movie. One pretty noticible differenceis that the setting is a lot different. In the script, the setting is on the balconey, and is definetly a way less modern version, almost like a cliche love scene. In the 1997 movie, the setting isn t even on a balcony, it is on a back porch with a pool. This takes away the whole cliche love scene in the original script, and as i feel takes awaay some of the meaning of the original. It also is a lot more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ferrell slid seamlessly into the role of voice actor for the animated Megamind, starring as the titular villain turned superhero. • 7. Imperialism In Ww2 Prior to the outbreak of the Second World War, a number of Western nations had colonies in Southeast Asia, but as the century progressed there was more and more opposition to colonial rule in the form of nationalism. Through their Asia for Asians policy, as well as their destruction of the myth of European supremacy, Japanese involvement in East Asiacreated the perfect breeding ground not only for nationalist movements, but for the spread of communism. While communism was a growing influence in these nations, it was still considered one of many nationalist movements, rather than the driving force. Once Japan would seize control of territory from the Western forces they would portray Japanese colonialism as an Asian liberation movement (the Asia for Asians policy) from their white oppressors. Additionally, the Japanese would routinely install puppet governments with anti colonial leaders at the head in an attempt to eliminate all traces of Western rule, and show Asian nations that they were capable of governance without the interference of Europeans. Comparing Shakespeare s Hamlet and Marlowe of Conrad s Heart of Darkness Prince Hamlet, of Shakespeare s famed tragedy, and Marlowe of Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, are similarly situated characters. Despite superficially different settings and plots, there is a remarkably similar thematic element shared between both works. Prince Hamlet and Marlowe are brought to the very brink of insanity by their immersion in worlds gone mad, yet still succeed. At their roots, the similarities of the environments they are immersed in are remarkable. Whether their environment is a too too sullied (1057) Royal Danish court, or the dark madness of a murderous Congolese jungle, the relationship between a sane man s mind, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only are the natures and causes of the evil present in both Hamlet and Heart of Darkness remarkably similar, but also each character s introduction to it. Interestingly, Prince Hamlet and Marlowe share a certain naГЇvetГ© when they first come upon their evils. Hamlet returns home after hearing of his father s death from studies in Wittenberg, not yet knowing the cause of his death. Marlowe sets off from Brussels to explore a blank space...a place of darkness (1618), with an innocent childhood dream to explore the reaches of civilization. Neither man could have known the immense corruption and evil that awaited them at their destination, but both would quickly learn. Hamlet returns to Denmark to quickly find that a hasty incestuous marriage between his widowed mother and his uncle would all too quickly follow his own father s funeral. Perhaps the most significant sign that all was not right in Denmark was the apparition of the slain former King. Hamlet s father s apparition is viewed by Hamlet and his company as an open sign that something is rotten in the state of Denmark (1068). From this first revelation, Hamlet learns by degrees of the evil that attempts to hide itself behind the legitimate passing on of the throne. Hamlet gets a first glimpse of the evil in the appearance of the restless soul of his father, later, more so with that ghost s revelation of the murderous truth to Hamlet, up until Hamlet s own observation of Cladius unique ... • 10. The Importance Of Youth Work Activities During our time studying in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu critical decisions regarding youth work practice were made. One of these decisions was staying to wait for our boat to the island of Savo. Many of the group woke up early to be at the port in time to catch our boat to be told that we would be waiting at least another hour. During the wait the group found a comfortable spot and relaxed. After the hour ended the group went back to the port in time to catch the boat however, we ended up waiting another 45 minutes there as the boat needed fuel. Although waiting in humid 30 degree heat is difficult, patience and resilience were shown by all group members and it provided an important learning opportunity for me which I will take into my youthwork practice. This wait was not our first nor last in the Pacific Islands and by the end of the trip I understood what island time was. By waiting for the boat without complaint the group embraced the relaxed Pacific Islander culture. This had positive effects throughout the day as once we had left the port, the day ran smoothly. Any issue with the wait may have caused tension between the group and Paul or David who were our tour guides for the day. This was not the first time the group had been kept waiting on the trip, although we had only been there for a few days. The first was on our initial night in Honiara at the church, in which the service started 45 minutes to an hour late. During this wait I asked the young person I was ... The fast paced economic activities of the 21st century has forced numerous countries to re evaluate their trade regulation policies, primarily based on their specialization and global niche markets. This article will focus on two separate case studies of China and Ethiopia. Throughout this article we will discuss the past history and prevailing trade regulation policies of these countries and how these polices have affected the macro and micro economic operations within these countries. This means a growth in imports from nations China is already in good relation with, while on the other hand it has raised its tariff for agricultural products and decreased its tariff for non agricultural goods. Through this policy, China is trying to strengthen its domestic market for agricultural goods while it is ready to rely on the international products of non agricultural nature. Some of the non agricultural goods with decreased import tariffs include garments, footwear, and skin care products. Import tariffs on suits and fur skin products are lowered from 14 percent to 7 percent. While China has decided to become liberal with its regulation policies, it is careful to avoid dumping and hence may impose anti dumping policies on goods it fears would threaten Chinese national industries. This policy is important in terms of preserving national industries and their stability. Such a policy helps restore balance and confidence within the economy. This sense of security will improve local performances. China is also very careful on the import of demerit goods, such as alcohol and tobacco. Consumption tax is applied to similar products because of their prevailing harmful effects and increased demand in the market. Consumption tax helps increase the price and reduce market demand. China has also removed most of the quota and licensing requirements from most of the imports. While this will increase the influx of imported goods, this might actually harm the domestic ... So these emergent rules of complexity are not strictly physical laws in the Newtonian sense but rather arise from the logical constructs, functioning and control of the overall system directive which is in turn dependent on the governance of physical laws. Note the role of the observer in this definition and the reliance upon its ability to process and interpret information. Because of this dependence on a capacity of comprehension by the observer, a complex system can be considered organized or disorganized. Most people would agree that complex systems usually have many parts. However, the way those parts interrelate might be difficult to discern. In fact, there is somewhat of a disconnection between complexity and organization that centers around the observers understanding of the logical causal framework of the system. Warren Weaver posited that disorganized or disordered complexity exists when there are a large number of parts within the system that appeared to interact randomly. Like a mixed solution of chemicals in a glass beaker or gas molecules within a closed container. The emergent properties of such a system (color, temperature, viscosity, etc.) can be understood by solely using probability and statistical methods to describe the interactions of the individual components. After careful consideration of a few of my personal favorite movies I choses the film Django Unchained. I chose this film because of how the elements of it line up with this assignment in a major way. This filmhas both elements of good and bad characters and it is also a heroic story of good beating bad. To properly understand this movie it is important to first list the characters by good and bad roles. In the good rules were characters such as Django and Dr. King Schultz. In the bad roles were characters such as Calvin Candie and Stephen. The correlation between these two sets of characters helped the movie become what is in a drastic way. Much like many movies in the Django Unchained the good character often had to do bad things to help accomplish the goal at hand. A great example of this in Django happens when Dr. Shultz offers to buy D Artagnan from Candie in order to save his life. The shows his true sense of compassion towards the freedom of slaves because he could ve simply purchase Django and one about his day. And example of good in Django s character happens later in the movie when he avenges the death of D artagnan. It was directed by Leni Riefenstahl and funded by the Nazi party. The question of whether Triumph of the Will was created for the purpose of Nazi propaganda or simply as a documentary has provoked historical debate. There is no doubt that the film was used as propaganda, as when the Nazi s annexed Austria, triumph of the will was streamed in every cinema to convert the disillusioned Austrians into practising Nazis. However, historians have questioned the intentions of the film s creator. Leni Riefenstahl was found to be a Nazi Sympathiser by the French in 1950, but, her reluctance to accept that the film was created as propaganda has triggered a debate among historians... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third flaw in Leni s argument is that she claimed to be showing the congress through a non expert eye, however the film techniques employed in Triumph of the will show otherwise. It is hard to believe that she didn t know anything about the Nazi ideology as she had emphasised aspects of Nazi beliefs highlighted in Hitler s 1924 book Mein Kampf. The opening scene of Triumph of the will shows Hitler s plane flying above white, pillowy clouds that possess every connotation linked to heaven. This flying through heaven has been accompanied with mystical, fairy tale like music adding to the spiritual undertones of the man that had begun his plunge into the disillusioned world that he was there to save. If Leni was simply going to make the film artistic, why would she specifically choose Hitler to descend through the clouds and into Nuremburg where people were screaming for their fuhrer. She didn t choose this imagery as a mistake, she wanted to show that Hitler attained Jesus like qualities. And if she was simply filming the rally as a documentary, why was it so important to show Hitler flying through the clouds, as at this point, the rally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As Elizabeth Drew said, The process by which Congress is supposed to function have been distorted, if not overwhelmed, by the role of money. This leads to people believing political action committees influence political official s views on issues in the government. The increase in political action committees are said to influence and help the political officials that are going to run for office again, because they want to get more money from the political action committees for their next political campaign. However, the supporters of political action committees say they allow average citizens the right to let their voices be heard in the political process. Barbie doll is the perfect title for this poem because for the longest time a Barbie was a sign of something perfect and beautiful, a toy enjoyed by everyone and a conventional symbol for little girls all over the United States. Similarly the girl was conforming to be sort of like the Barbie doll in a way because of societal expectations and the want to be viewed in a particular light by ones peers. The beginning of the poem or the first stanza has a lighthearted tone and then as it progresses it begins to divulge into a deeper ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Development Of Bilingual Literacy Practices During Phase 2, Moore and MacDonald focused their research on this research question: How is Halq emГ©ylem being revitalized within a British Columbia Aboriginal Head Start program where Aboriginal teachers of the language are not themselves fluent in the language of instruction? In order to answer this question, the researchers performed a series of observations and video recording over a period of one year. This observations took place during various community events. The discussion of the findings develops through a framework to understand the development of bilingual literacy practices in a minoritized context. The authors found a blend of traditional Aboriginal practices with contemporary teaching methodology. Elders and parents re appropriate their own ancestral language, and reshaped the language classroom into a multilingual space for learning. Particular literacy practices were found in the StГі:lЕЌ Head Start program where Halq emГ©ylem was taught by reading and attending the writing code while signing. These practices were enforced by aiming the parents to reinforce Halq emГ©ylem language and literacy practices at home. The authors conclude by stating the importance of this study by challenging the existing hierarchies of knowledge and knowledge creation through multiple languages wherever they occur and suggests directions in which we might understand and make use of languages and multiple literacies as powerful resources for further learning and as ways to ... I was confused to why there were three different parts to it and they were broken up as if they were supposed to be a new verse. When I asked the leader of the class she couldn t give me an explanation. With the research I have done I feel that I have come to a conclusion as to which ending is the most correct and why there are multiple endings. When the Sabbath was over, Mary the mother of James, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. A large stone closed off the entrance and when they arrived the stone had been moved. An angel appeared to them and told them not to be alarmed for Jesus had risen. But, they were alarmed and when the angel told them to go tell the disciples and Peter that Jesus had risen they were afraid, ran away, and didn t tell anyone. The gospel of Mark ends rather abruptly at verse 16:8, in the middle of a sentence but according to Mann the beginning also started very abruptly means it could still have been written by Mark. In this ending Mary and Mary the mother of James are headed to the tomb where Jesus has been buried, they are bringing spices to anoint the body of Jesus. According to Harrington this is rather odd because it is not custom for someone to anoint a deceased person a day and two nights after the death. • 55. The Effects of Migration Tahar Ben Jelloun, a Moroccan writer, states: Migration is no longer a solution; it s a defeat. People are risking death, drowning every day, but they re knocking on doors that are not open. Probably, the author is right because most of the migrants even do not know what awaits them in a new country. Before thinking about the effects of migration, people should draw a distinction between emigrationand immigration. The immigration is beneficial, whereas the emigration is totally disadvantageous for a country. People from industrially backward regions do not value their current lifestyle and conditions, and they cannot resist the lure of a wonderful life in economically advanced countries. Without thinking about the consequences that will follow their decision, people decide migrate from own motherland. And more likely these consequences will be negative not only for emigrants but also for countries people are going to leave and migrate to. • 56. Essay Television Violence Television Violence Violence is one of the most primary and controversial issues in today s society. And true that violence is on the rise. A major concern for many parents is the violence within television shows and movies, and the effect on children s aggression. I particularly do not believe that violence in television affects children s aggression, but who am I to say such a thing, for I am not a qualified psychologist. But I have many reasons for my accusation and references to back it up. Now television plays a major role in today s society, and it occupies almost every home in the United States. Parents have such a big concern for the children watching television, but children throughout the U.S watch an average of twenty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cartoons play the majority of the role. They have been around for centuries. So why make such a big deal about them now? Are the cartoons in earlier years any different from newer cartoons? Yes I agree, but there is a purpose. The Monaco 2 newer cartoons attract the newer generation. If parents say that cartoons now are more violent than those of earlier years than why are there so many, and so many different ratings accompanied with the beginning of every show. What about Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck with Elmer Fudd, and how many fights and hunting scenes there was. What about Road Runner and how many times Wylie Coyote tried to kill him. All these cartoons amused many children in earlier years and present years. So why start complaining now? Can parents not control their children? Maybe parents should pay more close attention to what their children watch, instead of making excuses and blaming others for practically their own decisions. Because it was their decision to have children, right? Like all children s shows and movies, it let s the mind run free, and also let s the children be imaginative within their own realm of mind. So let s not take these away, and just try to limit what they watch. Let us rate these shows and movies. Oh yeah, the government did that. But yet parents still let children watch the movies and shows that they did not want to watch in the first place. Is there something wrong here? Parents complain, laws are passed to limit what ...
