The Moro National Liberation Front
The Philippines security threat has been in danger for many years dating back to the establishment
of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF). MNLF sought to establish an autonomous Muslim
region within the country. (Fowler, 2011) MNLF used guerilla style tactics against the country for
several years before agreeing to a ceasefire with the Philippine government in 1976. (Fowler, 2011)
As with many ceasefire agreements not everyone within the group was in favor of the deal
therefore resulting in members establishing a separate group known as the Moro Islamic Liberation
Front (MILF) which established the Islamist insurgency within the country. (Fowler, 2011) MILF
has remained the primary internal threat to the country for more than the last 40 years. They have
utilized insurgent tactics against the government primarily in the southern region of Mindanao
resulting in the death of more than 120,000 Philippines. (Reuters, 2014) In March 2014 the
Philippine government and MILF signed a peace agreement calling for the end of disputes in
exchange for an autonomous Muslim region in the south. (Whaley, 2014) Despite the agreement
there is still cause for concern with internal threats to the country. Much like the agreement with
MNLF in 1976 not all MILF members agree with the pact and have established smaller factions to
continue operations against the government. (Reuters, 2014) A separate Islamist group established
in 1990 is the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) who has ties to Al

Music, Pop, By Mehgan Perine
From classical music, to pop, to a few selections of musical theatre music, Mehgan Perine surely
delivered an outstanding performance at her senior recital. On Monday May 16, many of
Mehgan s beloved family members, peers, and friends all came out to support her at the Covina
Center of the Performing Arts to watch her perfectly roll out a beautiful recital. A senior recital
that included many types of music genres, and even an Italian aria. Perine is only eighteen years
old and she was the only student at the School of Arts and Enterprise to be selected to perform a
senior recital. Her talent, grades, and personality got her to where she is today. Perine did bring
an amazing overall performance to the stage by tying in everything in her vocal talents with
posture and breathing, diction, tone and registration, and performance etiquette. During the
performance Perine sang a total of 12 solo songs and a duet. During the entirety of the show
Perine showed excellence in her posture and breathing. She stood in a all black dress for the entire
show. She was never slouching her shoulders, her knees were never locked, and she stood tall and
confident. At moments, the audience could not comment on her posture because she would walk
around the stage to give the show a more alive feeling. Her breathing was excellent also.
Throughout most of the show many were impressed that she did not breath a lot from her chest.
The audience, could more than likely tell that she was breathing

How Does O Flaherty Use Irony In The Sniper
Think about if you were at war and all the actions you would do in a fight to survive and come
out on top. In O Flaherty s The sniper O Flaherty writes about a sniper in a civil war on a rooftop
going head to head with another sniper and all the decisions the sniper makes to win the fight and
come out on top. O Flaherty uses irony and imagery to tell the reader that in wardecisions are made
to decide if you live or die and some decisions are rational and reckless. O Flaherty uses irony in
the sniper to show how he survives which proves that recklessness can lead to bad things. The
sniper makes the decision to strike a match and as that happens a bullet whizzed over his head .

Abstract
A virus isolate infecting soybean (Glycine max L.) with characteristic symptoms start as yellowish
patches (chlorosis) along the leaf,s main vein and sometimes between the veins, which turn into
necrotic brown or reddishbrown areas was collected from the Experimental farm of Faculty of
Agriculture, Cairo University ,Giza Governorate during May 2014/2015. To identify the causal
virus, the plants were tested by enzyme linked immunesorbent assay using antibodies against
different Tospovirus i,e. Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV) and
Soybean vein necrosis virus (SVNV). Preliminary results revealed the presence of Soybean vein
necrosis virus (SVNV) in tested soybean plants by double antibody sandwich (DAS ELISA) using
SVNV specific antiserum and by tissue and dot blotting immuneo binding assay. SVNV was able to
infect only 11 plant species from 28 tested by mechanical inoculation. The virus was transmitted by
mechanical means and by phytophagous thrips species; the most efficient vector was

American Firefighters Compare And Contrast
Imagine this, going into a burning building that could collapse, explode, or kill and you are the
one that is going to save someone s life inside and put your life on the line. (Imagine this) These
people called firefighters have to deviate from what is normal by going into a building with flames
so hot they could burn you horrifically.(sensory detail) The sirens roar as they firefighters drive up
to risk their own lives whether they are from Europe, America, or any other country.(personification)
Despite their similarities ,the United States and the European fireservices differences are clear.
Approximately (adv)1,134,400 people in the United States are firefighters. About 346,000 are
career or paid firefighters. 788,000 are volunteer and don t get paid for their time. Women only
make up seven percent of United States firefighters, making men the prevalent gender in the fire

Along with holding more water, an American Engine can pump 1750 gallons of water per
minute while in Europe, they may need up to four trucks to keep up with the American. To get
water to the truck from the fire hydrant the Americans use five inch diameter hose which can get
a lot of water to the truck quickly. The Europeans can only carry three inch hose which gets less
water to the truck. The Americans have their hoses pre laided and pre connected on the truck so
when they get to a fire, all they do is grab the hose and go. Europeans have their hose stored in
compartments on the truck; they have to connect the hose at the scene of the fire which could take
valuable time for putting out the fire. This is one disadvantage to smaller

Little Rock Nine Research Papers
The Little Rock Nine During the late 1950 s a group of nine African Americans enrolled into Little
Rock Central High School. They were persecuted immensly due to the color of their skin. This led
to many violent riots and changed the way America thought about segregation. Everyday they
would be beaten and ridiculed, because they wanted to learn in an all white school. It was shown
that Caucasian schools had better supplies and a better curriculum than the African American
schools. Many violent riots occured during this time period due to what was occuring with
desegregation. Although many residents in the Little Rock area were not okay with the
desegregation, the nine high school students overcame all odds and took a stand. What you may
not know is that before this whole thing happened, In 1954 the Supreme Court declared segregation
uncontitutionalin the the Brown v. Board of Education case. After this the court reitterated its
ruling calling calling on school districts throghout the United States to desegrigate their schools.
Hesitantly some schools began to try to resist desgregation in the schools. But in disbelief some
officials from the schools in Little Rock, Arkansas said that they would comply with the supreme
courts ruling. So with theis statement they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Entertainment And Entertainment
Entertainment! Ruining the society or not? When you hear the word entertainment you think of
everything you like to do and/or see. You think about the things you love the most about the
society and everything created to make you happier. But there is one question that one will ask
at least once in a life time, Is the things I think of as entertainment ruining the society or not?
Well in my opinion I say yes and no meaning I agree, but in only certain cases. For example, I
think basketball is a great sport and helps kids and adults become healthier and less stressed out,
but I think Snap Chat, Instagram, Twitter, etc. are all a waste of time and do the exact opposite of
what sports do, it makes you lazy and more stressed out. This... Show more content on

It states, Studies have shown that staying mentally stimulated can slow the progress of (or possibly
even prevent) Alzheimer s and Dementia, since keeping your brain active and engaged prevents it
from losing power. Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain requires exercise to keep it
strong and healthy, so the phrase use it or lose it is particularly apt when it comes to your mind.
These are only two of many different types of entertainment that isn t ruining the society.
Secondly, the sad and boring part, where I tell you about the things you love to do and how
horrible they are for the society. And yes that is exactly what I am going to be doing in this
paragraph. Firstly, I would like to start off with a fan favorite social media. I am talking about
Snap Chat, Instagram, Twitter, and all of the other apps/websites. And yes I did not include
YouTube and there is a reason for it which I will talk about later. All of these social media
websites are destroying children s childhood, of going outside with some friends and playing some
football or basketball or something. It is eating away a child s childhood before they even notice it.
Instead of talking to a friend in person they are talking to them through a phone and not even calling
them, they are texting each other none stop. On http://nperov.com it states, Constant switching

Pros and Cons of Taking the Clothing Store Online
Edouard Manet incorporated a number of art historical references in his paintings of the 1860 s,
adding visual quotations into his paintings. Although this was not the reason why Manet was
considered avant garde, it reveals some of the artist s underlying philosophies and theories.
Manet s visual allusions also serve the purpose of anchoring the artist in his own historical
context. The social commentary Manet is famous for reveals itself in paintings like Olympia
and Luncheon on the Grass. Similar technique can be witnessed in other 1860s era Manet work
including The Execution of Maximilian and Music at the Tuilleries. One of Manet s painterly
techniques during the 1860s was to compose by drawing upon earlier motifs, fusing them with
new sensibilities. This allowed Manet to inject a healthy dose of irony into his work, as well as
social commentary. The juxtaposition of outmoded motifs with new motifs was a thematic parallel
to his juxtaposing outmoded social norms with new ones. Replacing old ideas, events, and people
with contemporary ideas, events, and people allowed Manet to suggest a historical continuity, and
the cyclical nature of history. Moreover, Manet could hearken to the recesses of his viewer s mind
to draw attention to the artist s message. By the 1880s, Manet became adept at using quotations in
his work. In The Execution of Maximilian, for example, Manet evokes the work of Spanish artist
Francisco Goya. Manet remained an ardent admirer of Spanish art

Poor Countries Remain Poor
When discussing poverty, it is difficult to pinpoint one simple reason that explains why poor
countries remain poor. However, patterns may be drawn when looking at states history during
European colonization. The notion that the existence or absence of European settlers largely
shaped political institutions within states is supported by the two different institution types:
representative institutions and extractive institutions. European settlers promoted their own wants
through strong, representative institutions in colonized states. These states, such as the United
States or Australia, are considered wealthy countries today, whereas today s poor countries,
including the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia, were colonized by European settlers as
extractive institutions. In this paper, I will argue that, poor countries remain poor because the weak
political institutions inherited by extractive states under colonial regimes persist, making it difficult
to develop an appropriate relationship between the state and the marketand degree of state
intervention in the economy.
Even though colonial regimes eventually ended, the extractive state s weak political institutions
persisted for three main possibilities, according to Daron Acemoglu. The first possibility he and
coauthors (2001) point to is the fact that setting up institutions that place restrictions on government
power and enforce property rights is costly (1376). When new elites inherit extractive institutions,

Stand up comedy industry Essay
Title Stand up comedy industry
Thesis 1: From an industrial organization point of view, the stand up comedy market structure in
the 1980s can be characterized as an oligopoly
The structure of a market, thus how a market is functioning, is the concept behind the industrial
organization theory . The Industrial Organization (IO) theory is about, how a structure of a market
has an influence on the strategy and decision making of a company. 1 The theory therefore focusses
on the market wherein the company operates and links the decisions of the company to the market.
In the economic theory of industrial organisation, an industry can be defined according to several
different criteria.2 According to Throsby, there are three... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1975 such a diachronic dialectic was found for the first time in de music industry by Peterson
and Berger. They saw an active interaction/connection between small and large firms, which
influenced the market. While the large firms were competing with each other, niches opened up
and were filled by smaller firms.
But unlike the music industry and the American film industry (Mezias Mezias, 2000), there is not a
diachronic dialectic between small firms and large firms in the stand up comedy industry.
According to the resource partitioning theory, a theory conceptualized by Caroll in 1985, this
dialectic exists when the big firms are competing with each other. Just a few of these generalists
survive and they move forward toward the centre of the market. Because of this movement small
pockets of resources open up, where smaller firms can thrive (Vermeulen Bruggeman, 2000).
However, in the stand up comedy industry it is difficult to underestimate large and small firms,
instead we distinguish comedians and the media they use to reach their audience. Hence it weren t
large firms causing the opening of the niches for smaller firms. Instead it has been the increase of
the use of media over the past couple decades that has stimulated the creative industry of stand up
comedy.

Life Of A Slave Girl Literary Analysis
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines trauma as, a disordered psychic or behavioral state
resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury. Authors such as Harriet Ann
Jacobs, Zora Neale Hurston, and Toni Morrison address the trauma of slavery in their individual
works. Each author demonstrates trauma in a unique way. Harriet Ann Jacobs wrote Life of a
Slave Girl as an autobiography. When the novel was published in 1861, Jacobs did not provide
the real names of the persons involved in her trauma, as she deemed it respectful. Jacobs also uses
the pseudonym Linda Brent for her own protection. Life of a Slave Girl allows readers to connect
with Linda personally and have a better understanding of the pain she went through,... Show more

The story itself is based around 1861 1895. Similarly, to Hurston s novel, Morrison includes
moments from the past and present. The novel uses more time jumps to explain situations that
became relative to a present day situation. Throughout the novel, the readers understand that
Sethe s dead baby is haunting her home, but the death is never explained until much later. The
details of Sethe s attempt to murder her children is given and then immediately switches to
present day when Paul D discovers the truth by a fellow worker showing him a clipping from the
newspaper (Morrison, 182). This creative writing style helps readers fully understand the depth
of the problems at hand. Sethe s decision to murder her children could not be written simply
through dialogue, it needed to be detailed. By writing this way, readers can grasp the amount of
trauma Sethe and her family have dealt with and overcome. The amount of gruesome detail
written into the story is meant to be uncomfortable, because the way slaves were treated was
inhumane. For example, Sethe s scars are described as looking like a chokecherry tree
(Morrison, 93). Sethe received the scars after being whipped back in Sweet Home. Beloved opens
many of the characters traumatic events. In later chapters, Morrison switches from a third point of
view to a first point of view. Beginning in Chapter 20, Morrison writes from Sethe s point of view
discussing Beloved and

There are a great many ways to put price on to product, most popular are:
1. Premium pricing usually above the high of its segment. For example, something unique like car
Ferrari.

are selling the same quality bread for 40 pence to displace competition.
3. Economy pricing low cost for simple and cheap products
4. Psychological pricing psychological price, as example instead of 5 pounds 4.99
5. Product line pricing product line or set of services, for example, basic model of computer and
extended model for the same company computer.

different companies branches basted of local people purchasing power or mach with surrounding
competition to not suffer loses.

A Life Changing Experience Of My Writing In Arabic And Arabic
I reminisce when it was time for me to learn to read and write Arabic. Other than being the
language of my home country, it is also the language of Islam. Both of my parents are Muslim and
very nationalistic about their country Sudan. Due to me being a first generation American, English
was my first language. Sooner or later I had to learn how to read and write in Arabic.
As I started my journey of studying Arabic, I faced obstacles such as various tutors struggling to
teach me properly, being stressed out when not being able to understand. Over the years I finally
learned to read and write Arabic very proficiently. I found a love for the language that helped me
connect with my roots and religion. A life changing experience that shaped who I am today. My
parents love Sudan and Islam very much, my dad would always teach me new things about Sudan
and Islam when I was growing up, and read to me Islamic story books about our prophets. Each
evening me and my dad would read the stories together, he used to interpret the Arabic to English
so that I could comprehend. I remember observing the books that were printed in Arabic,
thinking to myself how cursive the letters look to me. I would be amazed that my dad was
reading these sentences that looked strange to me. Baba how are you reading this so good? I
would say to my dad and he would just glance at me and smile. Deep down in my father s pure
heart I knew he did not like the fact that his eldest child didn t understand how to

The complexity related to the manufacturing process allows producing only certain number of
unique labels which are replicated over and again for all the products. Thus, every label does not
carry unique identity rather a group of labels carry same identity and which is different from other
group. These labels cannot act as DNA for one item and therefore neither useful in supply chain
management nor for the blue prints information of the product.
For addressing these problems, few other techniques have been proposed which includes such as
Radio frequency identification tag or RFID, encrypted bar codes (1D and 2D). Bar codes (1D)
contain the linear lines of different width arranged parallel in different sequences depending upon
the code associated with it. Similarly, 2D barcodes contain rectangles of different dimension
arranged in matrix form and, each rectangle denotes a character. Thus, the combination of
rectangles arrangement in 2D square matrix makes a unique code for identification. Information
related to the product can be uploaded on a central server and coupled with the code given on
product barcode. Therefore, information regarding any product can be accessed using code
generated by scanning barcode. Similarly, they are very useful in product tracking in supply
chain. The labels having barcode are easy to produce by simple printing on paper or polymeric
film which can be attached or sewed to the fabric. For avoiding the

Addiction Requires Treatment, Not a Jail Sentence There is no question about it addiction is a
problem. It s talked about constantly on the news, social media, and even in our own homes.
Considering the statistics, that s not surprising; as of 2012, an estimated 22 million people over
the age of 12 are addicted to drugs or alcohol (Friedman 387). The criminalization of the disease of
addiction overloads our legal system, disrupts the lives of many families, and limits the success of
those who could otherwise be productive members of society. The good news is that there are
many different forms of treatment available, so recovery is possible for everyone. We need to...

The system was rocked when the crack cocaine epidemic hit. In 1981, President Reagan enforced
stricter penalties for drug offenders, and the nation went from a system of care to a system of
criminal justice (Friedman 394). Legal consequences to broken laws are important, but the
consequence should match the crime. For instance, a few days in jail for accidentally running a
red light would be over the top. Think about how many people could potentially lose their jobs
over a traffic violation! But this is happening to many people struggling with addiction. They are
charged with possession and given a prison sentence, with lawmakers hoping the time away from
drugs will cure them. One major issue is overdose upon release. This is very dangerous to
someone in active addiction, because depending on the length of time away from the drug of
choice, the addict s tolerance level could decrease significantly. The problem lies mainly with
intravenous drug users and alcoholics, as there is a fine line between injecting or drinking to
excess to obtain a high and overdosing (Knezevich). Luckily, many prisons are recognizing this
and taking steps to keep it from happening. Offering counseling and support groups for addicts in
prison is common, but some prisons are taking a step further to curb the overdose upon release

Forgiveness
Being able to forgive and forget allows people to continue to move on with their lives instead of
dwelling on a situation. However, would one be able to forget about a situation more easily if
they have forgiven their transgressor first? Saima, Bierman, and MacLeod (2014) proposed a
study to address this question. They believe this is an important question to address because if
forgiving makes forgetting easier, it will allow people who are able to forgive to release offenses,
empowering them to preserve valued relationships and move on with their lives.
The independent variable presented in these studies is forgiveness and the dependent variable is the
ability to forget. The participants were between the ages of 18 and 39 and were made up ... Show

The results of this study were that unforgiven scenarios were observed as more serious

participants were more motivated to forgive the offender for scenarios that had been forgiven

under compression. This type of gasket (head gasket) sits between the engine block and the cylinder
head in an internal combustion engine. The cylinder is used to make sure the maximum
compression and avoiding of leakage is succeeded of the coolant engine oil into the cylinders as
such it is the most critical sealing used in the automobile and in any engine, As part of the
combustion chamber components. This type of gasket is made up of three layers of steel. The
contact faces are usually coated with a rubberish coating such as Viton that fits nicely with the
cylinder block and the cylinder head while the thicker centre layer is left bare. A gasket is mainly
used in car engines they are also used in different locations in the car to fill the gaps between many
things and not losing the oil. But in this case, it is used between the engine block and the cylinder.

Accepting Performance Enhancing Drugs In Sports
Proponents of accepting performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) in sports argue that their harmful
health effects have been overstated, that health risks are an athlete s decision to make, that using
drugs is part of the evolution of sports much like improved training techniques and new
technologies, and that efforts to keep athletes from using PEDs are overzealous, unproductive,
unfairly administered, and bound to fail.
The spirit of sport is the celebration of the human spirit, the body and the mind. Doping is contrary
to the spirit of sport, erodes public confidence and jeopardises the health and well being of athletes.

Joker and Batman Essay
Batman (originally referred to as the Bat Man and still sometimes as the Batman) is a DC
Comics fictional superhero who first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. He has
since become, along with Superman and Spider Man, one of the world s most recognized
superheroes.[1] Batman was co created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, although only
Kane receives official credit for the character. Batmans secret identity is Bruce Wayne, billionaire
industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child leads him
to train himself to the peak of physical and intellectual perfection, don a costume, and fight crime.

Finger, like Joe Shuster, Jerry Siegel, and some other creators during and after the Golden Age
of Comic Books, would resent National s denying him the money and credit that, he felt, he was
owed for his creations. At the time of Finger s death, in 1974, he had not been officially credited
as a co creator of the character. Kane himself, however, in later years willingly acknowledged
Finger s contributions to the character while also insisting on his own role. [5]

Batman story, The Case of the Chemical Syndicate, appeared in Detective Comics #27, cover

Batman was originally written in the style of the pulps [6] and this influence was evident with
Batman showing little remorse over killing or maiming criminals. The Bat Man was a breakout
hit, with sales on Detective Comics soaring to the point that the character was given his own title

Japan s World s Third Largest Economy
Japan is a vital economic power not only in Asia, but the world as well. It is currently the world s
third largest economy, previously in second place, behind America and China respectively
(GlobalEdge). Like many other countries within the Pacific, Japan is a part of APEC (Asian Pacific
Economic Cooperation). This is a forum that works towards a higher standard of living...through
sustainable economic growth. (APEC, GlobalEdge). Despite the fact of how comfortable/well off
Japan seems, they are currently facing multiple issues within their economyand societal factors.
One major issue Japan is facing today involves their declining population, and the quick growth
of the older generation. The current population growth rate is at 0.163%, and it is expected to
continuously drop over time. This factor negatively affects Japan s work force/labor pool,
seeing as how there is a larger amount of elderly people compared to younger ones that should
be working. Japan s labor force in total is estimated at 65 million people (GlobalEdge), which is a
little over half of the population (127 million). Their unemployment rate is at 3.4% (OECD), which
is relatively good compared to America s 5.5% (U.S. Bureau). This rate is also much lower than the
rates in 2011 when unemployment was at 4.50% (Japan Unemployment.).

English As A Second Or Foreign Language Essay
As the world s economy globalizes, English becomes the first priority language among the foreign
languages in most non English speaking countries, including China. In China, there is a boost of
English learning and teaching (Sun, 2013). More and more Chinese people learn English as a
second or foreign language. However, according to a survey of China s language situation that was
conducted in 2006, only 1.8% of English learners in China claimed to be able to act as interpreters
on formal occasions, 3.53% to converse quite fluently, 15.61% to conduct daily conversations (Wei
Su, 2012). This indicated that only a few English learners in China can speak English fluently and
that many English learners do not have the ability to engage in daily interactions. The education in
China is exam oriented, but most of the tests emphasize testing students mastery of the reading and
language forms while overlooking assessing students speaking abilities (Wei, 2012). And teachers
tend to give students practices of the knowledge that are to be tested in the exams. Therefore, many
English teachers in China tend to ignore English speaking and they give few opportunities for their
students to practice their speaking abilities (Wang, 2014). In China, English language teaching still
focuses heavily on language knowledge, not language skills, with the former being defined in terms
of grammar and vocabulary and being taught predominantly in the mother tongue and through

Analysis Of The Crutaltery And The Lottery
Stoning or Hanging?
...sign myself to lies, because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang... (Miller 105).
The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller that tells the history about innocent people being
hanged, because of this group of girls who lied that they ve seen the devil with some of the other
people in the village and the court took their word over anyone else s. The short story The Lottery is
written by Shirley Jackson about an annual ceremony of a drawing to see who will get stoned to
death and this tradition has been going on since the very first villagers. The Lottery is more
disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the village, the
punishment for The Lottery is torturous, and the ceremony was annual, since it was a tradition.
The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in
the village. True enough Arthur Miller has his characters somewhat participate in these
hangings, but they participate in a different way. The villagers in The Crucible differ when it
comes to their role in the witch trials. Some believe the girls lies, while others speak out against
them, which is actually not a lot of people during this. On the other hand, The Lottery has only
one type of participants in their village, which are the ones who agree to everything, help and
don t speak out against the tradition no matter how wrong it is. No one looks down on this
event, that everyone joins in, even if a parent was chosen their children would also help stone
them as well. Come on, come on, everyone. (Jackson 5). Old Man Warner says this as they were
about to throw stones at Mrs. Hutchinson until she finally died. It isn t fair, it isn t right,
Mrs.Hutchinson screamed, and then they were upon her. (Jackson 5). She didn t want this to
happen, but she did before, because she wanted to participate in it as well. In addition, no one
reacts to the tradition. Everyone seems okay with it and doesn t try and stop or speak out about it.
Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, and the other boys soon followed his
example, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones... (Jackson 1). The kids are

Understanding Justification and Righteousness
INTRODUCTION John Calvin described justification as the main hinge on which religion turns,
while Martin Luther described justification as the doctrine on which the church stands or falls.
DEFINING TERMS Two terms must be defined before we go further: righteousness and
justification. The basis of this paper is to look at the doctrine of justification as Paul presents it in
Romans, but clarification of these two terms will be helpful at this point. As N.T. Wright states,
English and American have two quite different root words, just and righteous, where Greek and
Hebrew have one each, dikaios and its cognates in Greek, tsedaqah and its cognates in Hebrew. In
order to properly understand justification we must begin with an ... Show more content on

Packer explains, there is virtually no lexical support to interrupt to justify to mean to make
righteous. In Romans 3:19 4:9, Paul provides explanation how God can be both just and the
justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:26). A fundamental difference between the Old
Testament and the book of Romans is that no one has the ability to fulfill the law, there is no one
righteous (Rom. 3:10; 20). In verse 21 Paul tells us the righteousness of God has been
manifested apart from the law and that this righteousness is from God through faith in Jesus
Christ for all who believe (v. 22). Therefore, when Paul tells us one is justified by faith apart
from the works of the law (3:28) we understand justification being defined as a judicial act of God.
And by the atoning work of Christ, God reckons sinners absolved from sin, their penalty dismissed,
declared righteous, and placed in a right relationship with God.
PAUL S CASE FOR JUSTIFICATION Paul presents his readers with a clear and simple thesis in
the first three books of Romans: mankind is inherently in opposition to God, none is righteous, no,
not one; no one understands; no one seeks God (3:10 11). The whole of his teaching from 1:18
3:20 is

Brofenbrenner s Theory Of Microsystem Analysis
The two significant life events I chose to examine further are, when I met my fiancГ© and when
I received my GED. I chose these two events because they were the most life changing, I am a
better person for them. When I met my fiancГ©, I was at a horrible point in my life. When he
entered my life, he helped me get back on my feet. He was there for me when I could not depend
on anyone else and I am forever grateful to have met him. I also chose receiving my GED as
another pivotal life event. Obtaining my GED has opened the door for me to further my
education and it is something I would not have pursued if not for my fiancГ© s support. Passing

The Qr Transformation Protects The Upper Hessenberg Type...
The QR transformation protects the upper Hessenberg type of the first matrix, and the workload on
such a matrix is O(n2) per cycle as restricted to O(‪n3) on a general framework. As s tends to
infinity, the original matrix merges to a structure where the eigenvalues are either segregated on
the corner to corner or are eigenvalues of a 2 Г— 2 sub matrix on the diagonal. Thus, we can see
that the QR transformation reduces the complexity and the number of iterations. QR is one of the
mostly used algorithms for finding the eigenvalues of a matrix, where Q represents an orthogonal
matrixand R an upper triangular one, R comes from right.

Now we consider a non singular matrix with real entries, either symmetrical or not. In essence, the
QR algorithm is based on the following property:
If A is factorized in the product A=QR, where Q is non singular, then the matrix of the product in
reverse order, A =RQ, has the same eigenvalues as A has (having similarity with A).
The invention of the QR algorithm
The QR transformation was introduced in the late 1950s by John G.F. Francis (England) [6] and
by Vera N. Kublanovskaya (USSR) [7], working separately. The QR calculation has been named

Judging from this article from Wall Street Journal, the major conflict that exists in this same sex

Technically, the people who refused to offer their service to the homosexual people based on their
religious belief were not legally wrong according to the first amendment. However, did the
homosexual couples do anything wrong? No, they didn t. They ordered the same services, and they
were willing to pay the same amount of money. What they wanted was nothing illegal. Then here

For Kantian ethics, the standard is based on if most people are acting the same way. Even though
some people are still struggling on whether they should support the LGBT community, the statistics
give us a clear trend of people s change of their perspective on same sex marriage. According to the
national polling data, the number of people who support the same sex marriage had risen from
37 percent in 2005 to 60 percent in 2015. Apparently, with the development of the modern
society, more and more people are becoming open minded and willing to show their support to
the LGBT community. Moreover, while some religious people against the same sex marriage,
some of them choose to support it due to the different interpretation of the bible they are holding.
Jesus never said a single word about gays or lesbians or same sex marriage, or any of the other
social issues that so many people seem to be possessed with fighting today , said Ducan(n.d),a

tendency, in this instance, same sex marriage can be defined morally right standing on the popular

The use of Web 2.0 technologies in organizations has introduced innovative ways of
collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing. The result of which is a more productive
and engaged workforce. The term Web 2.0 is controversial, but plainly used to describe a new
wave of Internet technologies that allows users to do more than just access information online.
(Gardner, n.d.) Blogs, wikis and social media technologies are examples of the Web 2.0
applications that businesses can use. These social technologies deliver benefits by multiplying the

There is a right way to speak. Every human being, despite their dialect and or language, knows so
and practices it in their everyday speech with their respective speech community s. The ethnography
of speech can be studied through Dell Hymes s Ways of Speaking, Roman Jakobson s Linguistics
and Poetics, and Dennis Tedlock s Ethnography as Interaction: The Storyteller, the Audience, the
Fieldworker, and the Machine. The ethnography of speaking is most salient in the action of
storytelling. I argue that the phatic function of languageis one of the most constant functions in

Do We Use Fossil Fuels Essay
What do we use fossil fuels for and what problems do they lead to?
Reduce the effects that it has on the planet. Recent use of fossil fuels have created pollution, global
warming and climate change, therefore we need to use technologies to change this.
Fossil fuels are used in many things, such as industries, transportation and in construction.
Many countries have sought to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels by developing sources of
renewable energy (such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, tidal, and geothermal) while at the same time
increasing the mechanical efficiency of engines and other technologies that rely on fossil fuels.
Fossil fuel power plants burns carbon fuels such as coal, oil or gasses, but this also creates carbon
dioxide while making electricity. The large amounts of carbon dioxide being produced, causes
climate change. They can also produce other pollutants, such as sulphurous oxides, which cause
acid rain.
Carbon, capture and storage is one of many technologies that help reduce the amount that carbon
dioxide that is being released into the atmosphere. The technology involves capturing CO2
produced by large industrial plants, compressing it for transportation and then injecting it deep into
a rock formation at a carefully selected and safe site, where it is permanently stored.
If we keep burning fuels in the next over the next 300 years would increase temperatures in some

In this case of Coca Cola changing their well established Coke formula and introducing an new

But the company considered, and rejected, planed to keep the old formula drink in circulation
under the name original Coke. The taste question was crucial to Coke. But what Coca Cola
executives failed to realize was that there is more to marketing soft drinks than winning taste tests.
More than any other product consumers had an emotional attachment to their soft drink brand. I
believe from Americans point of view, Coke discovered fiddling with the formula of the 99 year old
beverage was probably an assault to their patriotic pride. Here I can quote a saying from Coca
Cola s President Donald R. Keough to summarize what Coca Cola has learned: We did not
understand the deep emotions of so many of our customers for Coca Cola.
I think any marketer who plans a noticeable revision of a product must consider the loyalty of its
consumers and the possibility that the change will be rejected. To prevent this possibility,
marketers should realize that balking at change is a customer characteristic of specific product
preferences. Also, in this case, a more sophisticated qualitative and quantitative research could have
been conducted and prevented Coke from this mistake. Consumers resist changes for many reasons
brand choice results from a complex set of beliefs, buyers associate products with themselves,
buyers do not fit into clear segments. I think the key to all the marketers is to realize the

asking myself in most interactions I have with people. Nine times out of ten I settle for someone
s approval. Much of my life has been lived with a people pleasing mindset and only recently have I
become aware of it. Only recently have I begun to question whether or not it is always in my best
interest to pick love over fear. Two years ago, I was in a distinct position of leadershipover a group
of individuals. I had not undertaken much self examination at this point and unconsciously
chose to seek love. After reading The Prince, I want to reanalyze this scenario and attempt to
apply Machiavelli s perspective. The setting of this story is unlike any I will every find myself
in again. The summer began with me struggling to catch my breath as I stepped out of my car at
9,000 feet. Immediately after arriving, I starting training to become a white water rafting and
backpacking guide. Unfortunately, I did not have the luxury of stepping confidently into this job.
The previous ten months had been full of more rejection than I hope anyone else has to endure in
a lifetime. After a six week training period, we were expected to lead customers up mountains and
down class VI white water. Much to my chagrin, I was one of the first guides to receive a
backpacking trip. The group traveled from Alabama and seemed nice enough. However, after
shrugging off a barrage of trivial questions I didn t

Women s Reproductive Rights
What if a sixteen year old decided to apply to adopt a child? She d be denied that from the get go,
right? Of course, she s way too young, not nearly mature enough, can t support herself on her
own, etc. If all of this is true, then why should a sixteen year old rape victim have to raise a child
she didn t plan for? Even women who aren t ready to start a family or any other reason, shouldn t
have to. All women deserve true information and the access to safe and legal abortions.
The case of Roe v. Wadeis basically what started the political side of things. In 1969 a divorced
Norma McCorvey was seeking abortion for an unwanted pregnancy. At this time, it ... Show more

This benefitted the US in that it was more available to women in need. The downfall was that it
brought about a division in the public. Many states are still restricting the availability of abortion
even after this ruling because of how hard the pro life group is working to overturn it (Bailey 5).
Pro life groups can view abortion as murder. Since the cells of the fetus in the very beginning of
the pregnancy are technically living things, they can be considered alive. (Should Abortion be
Legal?) While these cells are technically alive, they are still completely dependent on the mother
for absolutely everything. The cells couldn t develop at all if it weren t in the uterus.
Human life in its fullest sense includes the ability to exist as a separate being and to be conscious
aware of one s surroundings and to be able to think, feel, and respond to them. (Bailey 6) The
decision to terminate the pregnancy should be decided well before the point where the fetus could
survive outside of the uterus besides in the extreme cases.
It s also argued that everyone can prevent pregnancy. Sure, the only way to really do this is to
practice abstinence, but not everyone chooses to do this. Some who are otherwise abstinent can t
control rape. The victim isn t at fault and should have every right to terminate that unwanted
pregnancy. Some who don t practice abstinence could still be at a disadvantage. With Planned

Characterization For Disdemona And Desdemona By William...
Women are often held to different standards than men and an ideal woman is hard to describe,
even harder to find. This paper will explore the views and expectations of how woman are
portrayed in the sixteenth century. In Cinthio s, The Unfaithfulness of Husbands and Wives, Story
Seven, an ideal woman was said to be faithful and a faithful woman would rather commit suicide
than to commit adultery (Cinthio 32), while in Shakespeare s Othello, an ideal woman is said to
breastfeed and inquire about useless matters (2.1.159). Cinthio s and Shakespeare s use of
characterization for Disdemona and Desdemona, respectively, demonstrates that the wives of men
in the sixteenth century were to be gentle servants. Cinthio focuses more on the common
stereotypes about women, while Shakespeare challenges them.
In both text, the women are developed indirectly through their actions and how others view
them. In Cinthio s text, women are advised to stay home and take care of their household; they
are to marry who their parents approve of and are to be submissive and obedient at all times.
Disdemona went against all of these notions. She was deeply in love with the Moor, but she did
not fit the criteria of an ideal woman. Disdemona, for fear that she d be apart from the Moor,
wanted to go to war with him, she married the Moor despite her parent s approval, and she spoke
out of turn toward her husband for the defense of someone else, the Corporal. In the end
Disdemona advises marrying a partner

How was Life in our World Created
Throughout history, scientists asked questions about the origin of life and wondered if it was
created by God or an explainable natural phenomenona. One of the most debatable ideas disputes
whether the Christian God is true. More specifically, many wonder if the Bible true. Scientists and
philosophers ascertained evidence that proves the truthfulness of the Bible. True scienceand the
Bible do not contradict each other. Science and archaeology supports the truthfulness of the Bible,
confirming the Bible is true
The Bible is consistent with science; in fact, the Bible contains scientific topics that have been
investigated by scientists. Throughout time, scientists used to believe that their theories were 100
% accurate in explaining the universe. As technology advances, scientists discovered that some of
these theories are unreliable. Recently, it has been explored that stars are uncountable as
mentioned in the Bible As the host of heaven cannot be numbered (Deem). Scientists used to
theorize that the Universe has only between 1000 to 1200 stars (Comfort 21). The Bible has
accurate, scientifically proven facts. For example, many years ago, scientists theorized that Earth
is flat; however, years later; they proved that Earth has a round shape. It is he that sits upon the
circle of the earth (Deem). Again, the Bible mentioned the accurate shape of the earth. As a result
of these discoveries, scientists began to study and investigate various topics in the Bible and have

Media And Gender
In an age dominated by media, it is almost impossible not get sucked into and internalize the
things we see before us. This begins as early as infancy. Studies have shown that 74% of children
under the ages of two watch TV ( TV and Kids Under the Age of 3 ). This continues throughout a
person s life, and continues to shape them. The usually stereotypical images and characters shown
in media can have many detrimental influences on persons, particularly children and young adults,
such as low body image, eating disorders, and increased aggressive behaviour. In order to shape a
better tomorrow, it is imperative that the media people see better reflection of men and women to
avoid the aforementioned side effects, and to socialize the children of... Show more content on

However, this is not the case. There are ways to break the cycle to slowly change the media one
sees, therefore giving them the potential to change the society around them. In order to change
some of the female stereotypes perpetuated in film and TV shows, one primary answer is to
include more women into the creation of these shows. Having female workers has been shown to
produce more balanced female roles, The presence of women in behind the scenes positions of
control...who correlated with more major female characters and female characters who were more
multi dimensional (Erigha, 86). In her article, Content Analysis of Gender Roles in Media: Where
we are Now and Where Should We Go , Rebecca Collins concurs with this statement in her
implication that girls may require the representation of other girls to identify with, and therefore to
learn from them (Collins, 292). Including women in the creation of the shows is important,
however it is only a stepping stone into fixing the larger problem. In her novel Feminism Matter:

Argumentative Essay On Wolfdogs
A wolf dog hybrid is just what the name states: a cross between a wolf and a domesticated dog.
They are a breed that attempts to add a wild side to man s best friend. Imagine giving a belly rub to
a wolf, it sounds fun and exciting. However, seeing that they are part wild animal, wolfdogs create
a lot of problems. Many wolfdogs are dangerous and cause harm to their owners and end up either
being put down or badly abused. Would it be better for everyone if wolfdogs are not allowed as
pets or even bred in the first place?
As previously stated, wolf dog hybrids can be very dangerous. During a wolf s adolescence there
is a great increase in hormones, thus causing their wild animal instincts and behaviors to kick in.
Furthermore, physical and mental maturity happen at different rates for dogs and wolves, this
makes it hard to predict when a hybrid will come to that full maturity. Hybrids are known for being
unpredictable. In 2003, Koa, a 1ВЅ year old hybrid from Idaho, was euthanized after killing a 13
month old boy. Despite the fact that this was not Koa s first time injuring a child, it still came as a
shock since Koa was said to be good natured. When asked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In 2000 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a report on the different
breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks in the United States between 1979 and 1998.
According to the report, out of 238 deaths that were studied, wolfdogs were involved in 14 cases,
while Pit Bulls and Rottweilers were involved in 122 of these deaths. Pit Bulls were involved in
22 American deaths in 2016 alone. It seems that hybrids aren t the big problem here. If other
breeds of dangerous dogs, such as Pit Bulls, are considered acceptable as pets, then why not
wolfdogs? Raising and owning a wolfdog is not for the inexperienced or faint hearted, however it
can be done. If cared for and trained properly, a hybrid could turn out to be an enjoyable

  • 2. The Moro National Liberation Front The Philippines security threat has been in danger for many years dating back to the establishment of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF). MNLF sought to establish an autonomous Muslim region within the country. (Fowler, 2011) MNLF used guerilla style tactics against the country for several years before agreeing to a ceasefire with the Philippine government in 1976. (Fowler, 2011) As with many ceasefire agreements not everyone within the group was in favor of the deal therefore resulting in members establishing a separate group known as the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) which established the Islamist insurgency within the country. (Fowler, 2011) MILF has remained the primary internal threat to the country for more than the last 40 years. They have utilized insurgent tactics against the government primarily in the southern region of Mindanao resulting in the death of more than 120,000 Philippines. (Reuters, 2014) In March 2014 the Philippine government and MILF signed a peace agreement calling for the end of disputes in exchange for an autonomous Muslim region in the south. (Whaley, 2014) Despite the agreement there is still cause for concern with internal threats to the country. Much like the agreement with MNLF in 1976 not all MILF members agree with the pact and have established smaller factions to continue operations against the government. (Reuters, 2014) A separate Islamist group established in 1990 is the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) who has ties to Al ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Music, Pop, By Mehgan Perine From classical music, to pop, to a few selections of musical theatre music, Mehgan Perine surely delivered an outstanding performance at her senior recital. On Monday May 16, many of Mehgan s beloved family members, peers, and friends all came out to support her at the Covina Center of the Performing Arts to watch her perfectly roll out a beautiful recital. A senior recital that included many types of music genres, and even an Italian aria. Perine is only eighteen years old and she was the only student at the School of Arts and Enterprise to be selected to perform a senior recital. Her talent, grades, and personality got her to where she is today. Perine did bring an amazing overall performance to the stage by tying in everything in her vocal talents with posture and breathing, diction, tone and registration, and performance etiquette. During the performance Perine sang a total of 12 solo songs and a duet. During the entirety of the show Perine showed excellence in her posture and breathing. She stood in a all black dress for the entire show. She was never slouching her shoulders, her knees were never locked, and she stood tall and confident. At moments, the audience could not comment on her posture because she would walk around the stage to give the show a more alive feeling. Her breathing was excellent also. Throughout most of the show many were impressed that she did not breath a lot from her chest. The audience, could more than likely tell that she was breathing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Does O Flaherty Use Irony In The Sniper Think about if you were at war and all the actions you would do in a fight to survive and come out on top. In O Flaherty s The sniper O Flaherty writes about a sniper in a civil war on a rooftop going head to head with another sniper and all the decisions the sniper makes to win the fight and come out on top. O Flaherty uses irony and imagery to tell the reader that in wardecisions are made to decide if you live or die and some decisions are rational and reckless. O Flaherty uses irony in the sniper to show how he survives which proves that recklessness can lead to bad things. The Europeans can only carry three inch hose which gets less water to the truck. The Americans have their hoses pre laided and pre connected on the truck so when they get to a fire, all they do is grab the hose and go. • 7. Little Rock Nine Research Papers The Little Rock Nine During the late 1950 s a group of nine African Americans enrolled into Little Rock Central High School. They were persecuted immensly due to the color of their skin. This led to many violent riots and changed the way America thought about segregation. Everyday they would be beaten and ridiculed, because they wanted to learn in an all white school. It was shown that Caucasian schools had better supplies and a better curriculum than the African American schools. Many violent riots occured during this time period due to what was occuring with desegregation. Although many residents in the Little Rock area were not okay with the desegregation, the nine high school students overcame all odds and took a stand. What you may not know is that before this whole thing happened, In 1954 the Supreme Court declared segregation uncontitutionalin the the Brown v. Board of Education case. After this the court reitterated its ruling calling calling on school districts throghout the United States to desegrigate their schools. Hesitantly some schools began to try to resist desgregation in the schools. • 8. Entertainment And Entertainment Entertainment! Ruining the society or not? When you hear the word entertainment you think of everything you like to do and/or see. You think about the things you love the most about the society and everything created to make you happier. But there is one question that one will ask at least once in a life time, Is the things I think of as entertainment ruining the society or not? Well in my opinion I say yes and no meaning I agree, but in only certain cases. For example, I think basketball is a great sport and helps kids and adults become healthier and less stressed out, but I think Snap Chat, Instagram, Twitter, etc. are all a waste of time and do the exact opposite of what sports do, it makes you lazy and more stressed out. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It states, Studies have shown that staying mentally stimulated can slow the progress of (or possibly even prevent) Alzheimer s and Dementia, since keeping your brain active and engaged prevents it from losing power. Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain requires exercise to keep it strong and healthy, so the phrase use it or lose it is particularly apt when it comes to your mind. These are only two of many different types of entertainment that isn t ruining the society. Secondly, the sad and boring part, where I tell you about the things you love to do and how horrible they are for the society. And yes that is exactly what I am going to be doing in this paragraph. Firstly, I would like to start off with a fan favorite social media. I am talking about Snap Chat, Instagram, Twitter, and all of the other apps/websites. And yes I did not include YouTube and there is a reason for it which I will talk about later. All of these social media websites are destroying children s childhood, of going outside with some friends and playing some football or basketball or something. It is eating away a child s childhood before they even notice it. Instead of talking to a friend in person they are talking to them through a phone and not even calling them, they are texting each other none stop. • 9. Pros and Cons of Taking the Clothing Store Online Edouard Manet incorporated a number of art historical references in his paintings of the 1860 s, adding visual quotations into his paintings. Although this was not the reason why Manet was considered avant garde, it reveals some of the artist s underlying philosophies and theories. Manet s visual allusions also serve the purpose of anchoring the artist in his own historical context. The social commentary Manet is famous for reveals itself in paintings like Olympia and Luncheon on the Grass. Similar technique can be witnessed in other 1860s era Manet work including The Execution of Maximilian and Music at the Tuilleries. One of Manet s painterly techniques during the 1860s was to compose by drawing upon earlier motifs, fusing them with new sensibilities. This allowed Manet to inject a healthy dose of irony into his work, as well as social commentary. The juxtaposition of outmoded motifs with new motifs was a thematic parallel to his juxtaposing outmoded social norms with new ones. Replacing old ideas, events, and people with contemporary ideas, events, and people allowed Manet to suggest a historical continuity, and the cyclical nature of history. Moreover, Manet could hearken to the recesses of his viewer s mind to draw attention to the artist s message. By the 1880s, Manet became adept at using quotations in his work. In The Execution of Maximilian, for example, Manet evokes the work of Spanish artist Francisco Goya. Manet remained an ardent admirer of Spanish art ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Poor Countries Remain Poor When discussing poverty, it is difficult to pinpoint one simple reason that explains why poor countries remain poor. However, patterns may be drawn when looking at states history during European colonization. The notion that the existence or absence of European settlers largely shaped political institutions within states is supported by the two different institution types: representative institutions and extractive institutions. European settlers promoted their own wants through strong, representative institutions in colonized states. These states, such as the United States or Australia, are considered wealthy countries today, whereas today s poor countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia, were colonized by European settlers as extractive institutions. In this paper, I will argue that, poor countries remain poor because the weak political institutions inherited by extractive states under colonial regimes persist, making it difficult to develop an appropriate relationship between the state and the marketand degree of state intervention in the economy. Even though colonial regimes eventually ended, the extractive state s weak political institutions persisted for three main possibilities, according to Daron Acemoglu. The first possibility he and coauthors (2001) point to is the fact that setting up institutions that place restrictions on government power and enforce property rights is costly (1376). When new elites inherit extractive institutions, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Stand up comedy industry Essay Title Stand up comedy industry Thesis 1: From an industrial organization point of view, the stand up comedy market structure in the 1980s can be characterized as an oligopoly The structure of a market, thus how a market is functioning, is the concept behind the industrial organization theory . The Industrial Organization (IO) theory is about, how a structure of a market has an influence on the strategy and decision making of a company. 1 The theory therefore focusses on the market wherein the company operates and links the decisions of the company to the market. In the economic theory of industrial organisation, an industry can be defined according to several different criteria.2 According to Throsby, there are three... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1975 such a diachronic dialectic was found for the first time in de music industry by Peterson and Berger. They saw an active interaction/connection between small and large firms, which influenced the market. While the large firms were competing with each other, niches opened up and were filled by smaller firms. But unlike the music industry and the American film industry (Mezias Mezias, 2000), there is not a diachronic dialectic between small firms and large firms in the stand up comedy industry. According to the resource partitioning theory, a theory conceptualized by Caroll in 1985, this dialectic exists when the big firms are competing with each other. Just a few of these generalists survive and they move forward toward the centre of the market. Because of this movement small pockets of resources open up, where smaller firms can thrive (Vermeulen Bruggeman, 2000). However, in the stand up comedy industry it is difficult to underestimate large and small firms, instead we distinguish comedians and the media they use to reach their audience. Hence it weren t large firms causing the opening of the niches for smaller firms. Instead it has been the increase of the use of media over the past couple decades that has stimulated the creative industry of stand up comedy. The last fifty years booms ... • 12. Life Of A Slave Girl Literary Analysis The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines trauma as, a disordered psychic or behavioral state resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury. Authors such as Harriet Ann Jacobs, Zora Neale Hurston, and Toni Morrison address the trauma of slavery in their individual works. Each author demonstrates trauma in a unique way. Harriet Ann Jacobs wrote Life of a Slave Girl as an autobiography. When the novel was published in 1861, Jacobs did not provide the real names of the persons involved in her trauma, as she deemed it respectful. Jacobs also uses the pseudonym Linda Brent for her own protection. Life of a Slave Girl allows readers to connect with Linda personally and have a better understanding of the pain she went through,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story itself is based around 1861 1895. Similarly, to Hurston s novel, Morrison includes moments from the past and present. The novel uses more time jumps to explain situations that became relative to a present day situation. Throughout the novel, the readers understand that Sethe s dead baby is haunting her home, but the death is never explained until much later. The details of Sethe s attempt to murder her children is given and then immediately switches to present day when Paul D discovers the truth by a fellow worker showing him a clipping from the newspaper (Morrison, 182). This creative writing style helps readers fully understand the depth of the problems at hand. Sethe s decision to murder her children could not be written simply through dialogue, it needed to be detailed. By writing this way, readers can grasp the amount of trauma Sethe and her family have dealt with and overcome. The amount of gruesome detail written into the story is meant to be uncomfortable, because the way slaves were treated was inhumane. For example, Sethe s scars are described as looking like a chokecherry tree (Morrison, 93). Sethe received the scars after being whipped back in Sweet Home. Beloved opens many of the characters traumatic events. In later chapters, Morrison switches from a third point of view to a first point of view. Beginning in Chapter 20, Morrison writes from Sethe s point of view discussing Beloved and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. A Life Changing Experience Of My Writing In Arabic And Arabic I reminisce when it was time for me to learn to read and write Arabic. Other than being the language of my home country, it is also the language of Islam. Both of my parents are Muslim and very nationalistic about their country Sudan. Due to me being a first generation American, English was my first language. Sooner or later I had to learn how to read and write in Arabic. As I started my journey of studying Arabic, I faced obstacles such as various tutors struggling to teach me properly, being stressed out when not being able to understand. Over the years I finally learned to read and write Arabic very proficiently. I found a love for the language that helped me connect with my roots and religion. A life changing experience that shaped who I am today. My parents love Sudan and Islam very much, my dad would always teach me new things about Sudan and Islam when I was growing up, and read to me Islamic story books about our prophets. Each evening me and my dad would read the stories together, he used to interpret the Arabic to English so that I could comprehend. I remember observing the books that were printed in Arabic, thinking to myself how cursive the letters look to me. I would be amazed that my dad was reading these sentences that looked strange to me. Baba how are you reading this so good? I would say to my dad and he would just glance at me and smile. The complexity related to the manufacturing process allows producing only certain number of unique labels which are replicated over and again for all the products. Thus, every label does not carry unique identity rather a group of labels carry same identity and which is different from other group. These labels cannot act as DNA for one item and therefore neither useful in supply chain management nor for the blue prints information of the product. For addressing these problems, few other techniques have been proposed which includes such as Radio frequency identification tag or RFID, encrypted bar codes (1D and 2D). Bar codes (1D) contain the linear lines of different width arranged parallel in different sequences depending upon the code associated with it. Similarly, 2D barcodes contain rectangles of different dimension arranged in matrix form and, each rectangle denotes a character. Thus, the combination of rectangles arrangement in 2D square matrix makes a unique code for identification. Information related to the product can be uploaded on a central server and coupled with the code given on product barcode. Therefore, information regarding any product can be accessed using code generated by scanning barcode. Similarly, they are very useful in product tracking in supply chain. The labels having barcode are easy to produce by simple printing on paper or polymeric film which can be attached or sewed to the fabric. For avoiding the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s talked about constantly on the news, social media, and even in our own homes. Considering the statistics, that s not surprising; as of 2012, an estimated 22 million people over the age of 12 are addicted to drugs or alcohol (Friedman 387). The criminalization of the disease of addiction overloads our legal system, disrupts the lives of many families, and limits the success of those who could otherwise be productive members of society. The system was rocked when the crack cocaine epidemic hit. In 1981, President Reagan enforced stricter penalties for drug offenders, and the nation went from a system of care to a system of criminal justice (Friedman 394). Legal consequences to broken laws are important, but the consequence should match the crime. For instance, a few days in jail for accidentally running a red light would be over the top. Think about how many people could potentially lose their jobs over a traffic violation! But this is happening to many people struggling with addiction. They are charged with possession and given a prison sentence, with lawmakers hoping the time away from drugs will cure them. One major issue is overdose upon release. This is very dangerous to someone in active addiction, because depending on the length of time away from the drug of choice, the addict s tolerance level could decrease significantly. The problem lies mainly with intravenous drug users and alcoholics, as there is a fine line between injecting or drinking to excess to obtain a high and overdosing (Knezevich). Luckily, many prisons are recognizing this and taking steps to keep it from happening. Offering counseling and support groups for addicts in prison is common, but some prisons are taking a step further to curb the overdose upon release ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, would one be able to forget about a situation more easily if they have forgiven their transgressor first? Saima, Bierman, and MacLeod (2014) proposed a study to address this question. They believe this is an important question to address because if forgiving makes forgetting easier, it will allow people who are able to forgive to release offenses, empowering them to preserve valued relationships and move on with their lives. English As A Second Or Foreign Language Essay As the world s economy globalizes, English becomes the first priority language among the foreign languages in most non English speaking countries, including China. In China, there is a boost of English learning and teaching (Sun, 2013). More and more Chinese people learn English as a second or foreign language. However, according to a survey of China s language situation that was conducted in 2006, only 1.8% of English learners in China claimed to be able to act as interpreters on formal occasions, 3.53% to converse quite fluently, 15.61% to conduct daily conversations (Wei Su, 2012). This indicated that only a few English learners in China can speak English fluently and that many English learners do not have the ability to engage in daily interactions. The education in China is exam oriented, but most of the tests emphasize testing students mastery of the reading and language forms while overlooking assessing students speaking abilities (Wei, 2012). And teachers tend to give students practices of the knowledge that are to be tested in the exams. Therefore, many English teachers in China tend to ignore English speaking and they give few opportunities for their students to practice their speaking abilities (Wang, 2014). The short story The Lottery is written by Shirley Jackson about an annual ceremony of a drawing to see who will get stoned to death and this tradition has been going on since the very first villagers. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the village, the punishment for The Lottery is torturous, and the ceremony was annual, since it was a tradition. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the village. True enough Arthur Miller has his characters somewhat participate in these hangings, but they participate in a different way. The villagers in The Crucible differ when it comes to their role in the witch trials. Some believe the girls lies, while others speak out against them, which is actually not a lot of people during this. On the other hand, The Lottery has only one type of participants in their village, which are the ones who agree to everything, help and don t speak out against the tradition no matter how wrong it is. Understanding Justification and Righteousness INTRODUCTION John Calvin described justification as the main hinge on which religion turns, while Martin Luther described justification as the doctrine on which the church stands or falls. DEFINING TERMS Two terms must be defined before we go further: righteousness and justification. The basis of this paper is to look at the doctrine of justification as Paul presents it in Romans, but clarification of these two terms will be helpful at this point. As N.T. Packer explains, there is virtually no lexical support to interrupt to justify to mean to make righteous. In Romans 3:19 4:9, Paul provides explanation how God can be both just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:26). A fundamental difference between the Old Testament and the book of Romans is that no one has the ability to fulfill the law, there is no one righteous (Rom. 3:10; 20). In verse 21 Paul tells us the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law and that this righteousness is from God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe (v. 22). Therefore, when Paul tells us one is justified by faith apart from the works of the law (3:28) we understand justification being defined as a judicial act of God. And by the atoning work of Christ, God reckons sinners absolved from sin, their penalty dismissed, declared righteous, and placed in a right relationship with God. PAUL S CASE FOR JUSTIFICATION Paul presents his readers with a clear and simple thesis in the first three books of Romans: mankind is inherently in opposition to God, none is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks God (3:10 11). The QR transformation protects the upper Hessenberg type of the first matrix, and the workload on such a matrix is O(n2) per cycle as restricted to O(‪n3) on a general framework. As s tends to infinity, the original matrix merges to a structure where the eigenvalues are either segregated on the corner to corner or are eigenvalues of a 2 Г— 2 sub matrix on the diagonal. Thus, we can see that the QR transformation reduces the complexity and the number of iterations. QR is one of the mostly used algorithms for finding the eigenvalues of a matrix, where Q represents an orthogonal matrixand R an upper triangular one, R comes from right. ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬†Now we consider a non singular matrix with real entries, either symmetrical or not. • 36. Tupac Shakur Language Analysis There is a right way to speak. Every human being, despite their dialect and or language, knows so and practices it in their everyday speech with their respective speech community s. The ethnography of speech can be studied through Dell Hymes s Ways of Speaking, Roman Jakobson s Linguistics and Poetics, and Dennis Tedlock s Ethnography as Interaction: The Storyteller, the Audience, the Fieldworker, and the Machine. The ethnography of speaking is most salient in the action of storytelling. I argue that the phatic function of languageis one of the most constant functions in conversations when the narrator can switch roles to audience, which is prevalent in my recording of Tupac Amaru Shakur s 1995 deposition. The witness swearing Tupac in sets the tone of this event as one of the most formal events that could occur in ones life experience. This tone and level of formality continues as the judge asks for Tupac s name, age, and residence on lines 5 and 7 of the transcription. Despite the fact that the deposition is and was a formal event, Tupac breaks formality when he leans on his arm. In this case, he plays the role of audience member; the audience member lost as depicted by Tedlock. Shaker s tone is more affirmative when he is on defensive mode. • 37. Do We Use Fossil Fuels Essay What do we use fossil fuels for and what problems do they lead to? Reduce the effects that it has on the planet. Recent use of fossil fuels have created pollution, global warming and climate change, therefore we need to use technologies to change this. Fossil fuels are used in many things, such as industries, transportation and in construction. Many countries have sought to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels by developing sources of renewable energy (such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, tidal, and geothermal) while at the same time increasing the mechanical efficiency of engines and other technologies that rely on fossil fuels. Fossil fuel power plants burns carbon fuels such as coal, oil or gasses, but this also creates carbon dioxide while making electricity. The large amounts of carbon dioxide being produced, causes climate change. They can also produce other pollutants, such as sulphurous oxides, which cause acid rain. Carbon, capture and storage is one of many technologies that help reduce the amount that carbon dioxide that is being released into the atmosphere. The technology involves capturing CO2 produced by large industrial plants, compressing it for transportation and then injecting it deep into a rock formation at a carefully selected and safe site, where it is permanently stored. More than any other product consumers had an emotional attachment to their soft drink brand. I believe from Americans point of view, Coke discovered fiddling with the formula of the 99 year old beverage was probably an assault to their patriotic pride. Here I can quote a saying from Coca Cola s President Donald R. Keough to summarize what Coca Cola has learned: We did not understand the deep emotions of so many of our customers for Coca Cola. I think any marketer who plans a noticeable revision of a product must consider the loyalty of its consumers and the possibility that the change will be rejected. To prevent this possibility, marketers should realize that balking at change is a customer characteristic of specific product preferences. Also, in this case, a more sophisticated qualitative and quantitative research could have been conducted and prevented Coke from this mistake. Consumers resist changes for many reasons brand choice results from a complex set of beliefs, buyers associate products with themselves, buyers do not fit into clear segments. This paper will explore the views and expectations of how woman are portrayed in the sixteenth century. In Cinthio s, The Unfaithfulness of Husbands and Wives, Story Seven, an ideal woman was said to be faithful and a faithful woman would rather commit suicide than to commit adultery (Cinthio 32), while in Shakespeare s Othello, an ideal woman is said to breastfeed and inquire about useless matters (2.1.159). Cinthio s and Shakespeare s use of characterization for Disdemona and Desdemona, respectively, demonstrates that the wives of men in the sixteenth century were to be gentle servants. Cinthio focuses more on the common stereotypes about women, while Shakespeare challenges them. In both text, the women are developed indirectly through their actions and how others view them. In Cinthio s text, women are advised to stay home and take care of their household; they are to marry who their parents approve of and are to be submissive and obedient at all times. Disdemona went against all of these notions. She was deeply in love with the Moor, but she did not fit the criteria of an ideal woman. Disdemona, for fear that she d be apart from the Moor, wanted to go to war with him, she married the Moor despite her parent s approval, and she spoke out of turn toward her husband for the defense of someone else, the Corporal. Throughout time, scientists used to believe that their theories were 100 % accurate in explaining the universe. As technology advances, scientists discovered that some of these theories are unreliable. Recently, it has been explored that stars are uncountable as mentioned in the Bible As the host of heaven cannot be numbered (Deem). Scientists used to theorize that the Universe has only between 1000 to 1200 stars (Comfort 21). The Bible has accurate, scientifically proven facts.
