such. This piece is called Orpheus Leading Eurydice from the Underworld, by Camille Corot,

have a realistic topographical and layered appearance with shades of blacks and browns. Since
Corot is a landscape painter, he often uses atmospheric perspective to create the illusion of depth.
He shows the spirits mourning their death in the background with shades of cool tones and uses
light colors, while emphasizing Eurydice and Orpheus in the foreground with more deep and
darker colors. Another element I ve seen in Corot s painting is his use of space, he shows Orpheus
and Eurydice on the corner right while the rest of the image is more focused on his beautiful

Child Observation On Human Development
Introduction
For this observation project we were supposed to watch two different groups of people whose
ages range from two to twenty. So we could apply our knowledge of human growth and
development to test the effectiveness of current theories and research on development. For my
observations I watched two different groups, group A were ages three to four and group B were
ages eighteen to twenty. Group A, I observed on a warm, bright sunny Monday afternoon. I
watched the children as they played on the playground behind the Lions Club Child Study Center
on campus. On this day, I watched a group of 4 children, which included three girls and one boy as

All the females in the group appeared to have strong memory skills. The children were able to
follow complex direction. The only male in the group seemed to struggle with memory. After, a
while of play the male became more interested in a bug in the sand. This behavior reinforces
Flavell, when he said that children s attention is more like a flash of light that focus on what it
wants (Woolfolk Perry, 2015, p. 230). After, examining the bug for a while he began to play as
superman. Playing pretend helps children develop better social skills, self control, and they
understand the perspective of others (Woolfolk Perry, 2015, p. 242). While observing group B
they performed the task of sitting around, talking, and laughing very well. The females in the
groups appeared to have strong memory skills. They could follow complex directions. On the
other hand, the males in the group seemed to have a problem with memory skills. While watching
Group B, the male with the pink T shirt started doing push up and shortly after the male with the
black shirt started to do them too. The two males within the group seems to be struggling with
imaginary audience. Imaginary Audience is the feeling that everyone is watching (Woolfolk Perry,

Gaius Cassius Longinus, Marcus Junius Brutus, and Marcus Antonius were three key factors
during the time of Julius Caesar in the Roman Empire. Cassius and Brutus were the two main
conspirators against Caesar, and Brutus was even the one who assassinated him. Unlike the two of
them, Marcus Antonius, Mark Antony, was one of Caesar s right hand men and won many battles

J.M. Barrie once wrote, You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.
Throughout this semester, the most prevalent subject that has continuously risen from
conversation is that of sacrifice. Through the three books read in class, A Tale of Two Cities, A
Doll s House, and Brave New World, one can learn that sacrifice is not a selfless thing, but a
necessary part of life when attaining something he or she feels is of greater value. In A Tale of Two
Cities, written by Charles Dickens, Sydney Carton is introduced as a lethargic alcoholic that has
little interest in living. As the story progresses, however, Dickens shows Sydney s interest in
another character named Lucie. Later, Sydney even announces his love to her before she weds
another man, Charles Darnay, yet he still continues to speak of the worthlessness of his life as
the story continues. It becomes very obvious to the reader that Lucie is the focal point of
Sydney s life, and that he lives primarily in the light of her happiness. Towards the end of the
novel, Darnay is in prison and soon facing the guillotine. Sydney, who looks stunningly similar to
Darnay, takes his place and dies to ensure Lucie s happiness with Darnay in their future. From the

Aspects of Mood Presented Through Setting in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and
Something Whispered in the Shakuhachi
The element of setting plays an important part in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S.
Eliot and Something Whispered in the Shakuhachi by Garrett Hongo as they give readers a sense of
the narrators emotions and perspectives. Although the settings of both poems are presented in
similar ways, they reflect on different aspects of the narrators mood.
First of all, the settings in both poems are presented explicitly. In The Love Song of J. Alfred
Prufrock , details and features of the period and occasion are stated in each stanza. Phrases such
as half deserted streets (Eliot 4), one night cheap hotels (6), the yellow fog (15) and soft October
night (21) give readers a general idea of the surroundings of the narrator, which is a gloomy,
foggy city like London. The poem Something Whispered in the Shakuhachi takes place in three
periods: Before the war, during the war and after the war. The text shows the narrator grows
bamboo in ditches next to the fields ( Hongo 9), lines like all through relocation (55) and in the

Selection And Recruitment At The University Of Minnesota
Selection and recruitment was limited to participants enrolled in PSY 2001, Research Methods in
Psychology instructed by Professor Cheryl Stewart. Students who arrived to the course at 2:00pm
on Tuesday November 18th were rendered participants of the Charitable Giving Study. Students
were informed by the course instructor at the beginning of the course as well as the weeks prior to
this date that the students will be participating in studies of their peers. Additional recruitment for
supplementary participants was not needed, as this study was strictly conducted within the course.
Fourteen participants consisting of three males and eleven females were involved in the Charitable
Giving Study . Subjects are students studying at the University of Minnesota, Morris. Due to the
lack of need of personal information and the sustainment of privacy, participants were asked to not
submit any personal material verbally or on their questionnaire. Fourteen participants were all
placed in a single experimental condition where three age based video clips were presented
followed by filling out a questionnaire. Upon completion of the study, no participants dropped out,
collected their own data, or requested that their data should not be used. Materials Compositional

The Sengoku period from 1463 to 1567 was a time of social upheaval, political chicanery, and
constant military conflict. Though feudal lords swore loyalty to the Emperor, he was largely a
figurehead who held little political power of his own. More influential was the military Shogun,
however the years leading up to the Sengoku period saw a breakdown of central authority and the
rise of powerful, largely independent local lords called daimyo. These daimyo were in frequent
conflict amongst each other, fighting for control of different regions in Japan. Conquering weaker
daimyo, Japan s three unifiers would slowly pave the path towards Japanese unification. It began

Following the death of Oda Nobunaga, Hideyoshi secured alliances and further unified Japan by
both diplomatic and military means. His policies would leave a lasting impact that would
transformed Japan.. In 1588, Hideyoshi ordered that all weapons be taken away from farmers,
further disarming peasants. This reduced Japan s fighting population to the seven percent that made
up the samurai class. Rival daimyo could no longer use farmers to serve in their armies. The
sword became a sort of status symbol, signaling that an individual was of the privileged samurai

One reason these passages are different is because in the poem it basically states that paul was
just riding through each town without nothing happening to him. But in the letter he s beaten up
by some british officers and had a tough time. Another reason these passages are different is

When studying the many aspects of philosophy, one must place value in what they consider to
be true and false about the knowledge that has been, or will be acquired. Skepticism helps; it is
the idea that some or all of human knowledge is not possible. In other words, one should
preferably hold off on any beliefs they have, rather than accepting or relying on knowledge that
was acquired by reason. Skeptics may either have a problem with accepting beliefs or opinions that

As the dream for opportunity in the African American community continually gets repudiated, the
hope shifts to hopelessness. Another visual image that Hughes offers introduces the description of

Cobb Is In Reality Examples
I believe Cobb is in reality at the ending scene of the movie. There are a few examples and details
that lead me to believe Cobb is in reality. In parts of the movie Cobb is shown wearing a wedding
ring on his ring finger but that is only when he is in the dream world. Another example is the
totem. When Cobb walked into his home where his children were he spun the totem to test if
this was really reality or if he was just dreaming again. Towards the end the totem is wobbling
just like at sometime in the beginning where after spinning for sometime it eventually fell over
leading him to believe that he was in reality. But it never showed the totem falling over only
wobbling at the ending scene. I think that Cobb was definitely in reality in the ending scene. The
last example would be his kids at the end of the movie. In the earlier parts of the movie he
envisions them in the dream world being a lot younger. Around the beginning of the movie

seems like Cobb is in reality the kids are seen again but this time they looked a lot older than

Cobb is seen wearing a wedding band on his ring finger in various parts of the movie, mainly in the
dream world. Outside of the dream world it shows no sign of Cobb wearing a wedding band

I pushed connect, as I did everyday, but something was different today. When I clicked on the

roundness in the breast, abdomen, hips and rear. It also shows off other womanly features like
hair, hands and soft facial features. Even though the viewer is unable to see the expression on
the woman s face, it is easy to feel and interpret the feeling behind this image. As the lines form
this 3 D visual, they also form the texture of the image. The lines allow the viewer to feel as if

How much harder would athletes work if they were paid for their performance on the field, track,
or court? College athletes are put to the test each and everyday, they risk their health to entertain
millions day in and day out. College athletes deserve part of the money due to the revenue they
bring in for their schools and for the NCAA, they deserve the money because they do not have
time to get a job because they are practicing and training at least 40 hours a week, they should
also get paid because they are used as marketing models for the ncaa and for their universities.
College athletes also should not get paid because they are already getting paid in scholarship

Han emperor wanted the abundant resources and more power over the Nam Viet Kingdom. In this
time period, people tried to gain their independence back and assert themselves. There were many
minor rebellions, but history of Vietnam marks Trung sisters rebellion as great impact in their
history. The podcast explains Trung sisters in more detail about their background and process of
their rebellion.
I was familiar with this story because our class covered this story so I could easily understand
and agree with this podcast. As we learned in class, older sister Trung Trac, and Trung Nhi were
known as Trung sisters. They rebelled against Chinese governor to gain the independence since
they were under Chinese power. I also remembered learning about Trung sisters army as podcast
mentions. They prepared 80,000 troops with 36 trained women generals which they defeated the
