How to Treat a Stained Tooth Fissure
Introduction
The morphological configuration of the occlusal surface of the first permanent molar is the most
vulnerable and susceptible tooth surface to dental decay and the incidence of caries on these surfaces
is still rising. There are occasions where the fissures of these teeth are stained and at the time of
deciding the appropriate treatment the question arises whether we should or we should not treat them.
When there are dentists that think that seal over a stained fissure is the right treatment choice, there is
evidence suggested by others that a stained fissure should not be treated as a sound fissure.
There are teeth with questionable or suspicious occlusal surfaces, in which we can notice that there
have been changes from the clear sound fissures even without loss of surface and it is dubious to
decide whether or not it should be treated as it could be an incipient but not cavitated fissure. A stained
fissure means a fissure that is discoloured, brown or black, even an area of white or opaque enamel
where its normal translucidency is lost but it has no evidence of surface breakdown (cavitation).
Discoloured fissures does not necessary indicate an active caries process and they may represent
sounds surfaces (where the discolouration descends from organic material trapped in the fissure) or
non cavitated caries lesions (where the demineralised enamel has been stained and possibly arrested).
It is doubtful if a discoloured fissure expresses generally a viable

Essay On Syncope
Introduction: Orthostatic symptoms are common in children and adolescents such that 15% experience
syncope once in their teenage years.1 A comprehensive history, physical examination, bedside
orthostatic testing and an ECG are usually sufficient for diagnosis combined with prevention measures
for postural intolerance and reassurance being sufficient in most cases.2 4 Many patients with
orthostatic intolerance (OI) have limitations of daily activities with reduced school attendance and
impaired quality of life.5
A subset of children with OI may have an underlying disorder (autoimmune condition, mitochondrial
insufficiency, diabetes mellitus etc.) and thus diagnosis can be elusive and expensive.6 Syncope is
obvious and readily recognized to the extent that patients are frequently evaluated in an emergency
room and office setting. Clinical characteristics are described in children with syncope but literature is
limited in describing those many patients who present with symptoms other than syncope.7,8 We
studied the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of children and adolescents with OI who had
autonomic dysfunction based on head up tilt table test (HUTT).
Materials and methods
From November 2010 to June 2012, we obtained medical records of patients with OI and HUTT. Our
institutional review board approved this study. We collected demographic and clinical data together

Branding And Marketing Of Mdl For The Twin Cities Market...
Branding and Marketing of MDL for the Twin Cities Market Although they may seem one in the
same, we want to explain and differentiate the terms Branding and Marketing. Although they are
closely related and should actively complement each other for a successful business strategy, they
should have separate and individualized goals and budgets. Branding a long term process by which we
will create and manufacture the presence of MDL through consistent visibility, creating simple, yet
powerful, to the point messages which boost the awareness of MDL, along the lines of Have You Been
To? Branding is built by presenting repetitive and cohesive messages, increasing the familiarity of the
name, its purpose and vision to build a reputation and ultimately an experience. Brand isn t traceable,
but is the tool that makes the marketing successful. Marketing is an immediate action, which puts
consumers in the midst of the daily, monthly, seasonal, and special event specifics and ongoings at

Thus far, our branding campaign has been limited primarily to the following:
1. Six billboards on Northbound 35
2. Face to face
3. MDL brochure displays we have instituted with ski, bike, archery, and disc golf shops throughout

businesses. Secondary elements in our branding campaign:

Comparing My Two Jobs In High School
Throughout high school, I have worked two jobs that have been very different from each other. Both
of these jobs pushed me to become a stronger person, and I am thankful for the opportunities they
presented me with. My first job was at Richards Family Restaurant where I washed dishes, cooked,
and bussed tables. This job experience helped prepare me for college because it put me out of my
comfort zone. I had to walk around in a busy restaurant cleaning up tables and helping customers
while also coordinating with other employees. In addition to this, I worked under a lot of pressure
while cooking and washing dishes. It made me perform at my best while also doing so quickly, and I
believe that this experience will help me in college. My second

Essay On Abnormality, Classification Systems And...
Definition of abnormality, classification systems and demographics of psychological disorders
The poster is going to outline the definition of abnormality and describe two diagnostic classification
systems whilst referencing the diagnostic criteria for Schizophrenia and an overlook of its subtype
catatonic schizophrenia.
An analysis of the validity, reliability, practicalities and ethical issues will be covered when referring
to the diagnostic classification systems and lastly the demographics and statistics surrounding
schizophrenia with reference to age, gender and ethnicity will be thoroughly examined
Statistical Infrequency
By using the statistical infrequency definition, a person s way of thinking or behaviour is classified as
abnormal if it is statistically unusual amongst a selected society. With this definition it is very
important to decide how statistically rare a behaviour or trait is before it is classified as abnormal. For
example a person who has a higher IQ level than the society s average is then classified as abnormal
but contrary to this a person would be highly regarded for their intelligence, this is due to the method
failing to identify the appeal of that certain trait (Cardwell, Clark and Meldrum, 2008).
As mentioned the definition ignores desirability of some behaviours and traits, it also does not take in
to account of cultural differences and it is not clear by how much a behaviour should deviate from
what s normal for it to be considered abnormal

Mrs Chan In The Mood For Love
The main female character, Mrs. Chan appeared in qipao from beginning to the end of the film In the
mood for love . The uses of variety of color fabrics and fine fit cutting in qipao high collar and shorter
hem, makes Mrs. Chan s symmetry of the body appears more exquisite and the various colors of qipao
incisively reflects the oriental feminine charm and also suggest the rich and exquisite emotional world
of the character.
The color of the cheongsam is endowed with the color of emotion, Mrs. Chan s representation of
various qipao throughout the film displays her noble personality, at the same time; the change of color
of the qipao in her body indirectly reflects the development of the plot and the change of the
psychological activities.
According to the film, when Mrs. Chan going to work or moving house, she always wear qipao with
the color combination of white and black, white and blue, and pale yellow and white; such plain colors
are greatly coordinated with the dark hued surrounding environment. However, there are some
variations, for instances, it appeared several times in the film that Mrs. Chan was carrying lunch boxes
to buy rice in a small stall with black qipao, which suggest her outer and inner loneliness; when Mr.
Chan and Mrs. Chan have confirmed that their lover had an extramarital affair, Mrs. Chan went to the
hotel to meet Zhou Muyun (the person she has affair with) with red qipao, a style that always goes
against her and contrasts sharply with the plain color qipao that she always liked, which is actually a
metaphor for the emergence of love between them. Mrs. Chan took advantage of the landlord s
absence to Zhou Muyun s home with yellow qipao, symbolizing the pleasant and warm atmosphere
around them; and when Mrs. Chan decided to run away with Zhou Muyun, the qipao on her body
turned green green is vital and symbolic of life and it is a metaphor of Mrs. Chan make up her mind to
start a new life with Zhou Muyun. However, when she arrived at the hotel, Zhou Muyun had gone, the
hope representing by the green against the backdrop of red curtains, red beds, dark red walls, influence
the audiences to feel a sense of disappointment.

Approach to Persuasion Essay example
Embracing an individual s point of view by means of reasoning, argument or entreaty is an act of
persuasion. An individual is regularly confronted by persuasion throughout their everyday life. It takes
place in various situations that are categorized in three sections, the appeal to emotion, the appeal to
reason, and the appeal to one s character. Furthermore, this leads to an influential aspect. It is from one
s characteristic to be influenced by persuasion, thus, to be overlooked by outside sources. This is not
only found as a human speaks, but persuasion is the aim of advertisements, and political candidates
who are trying to sway voters to vote for them. Since Ancient times, persuasive techniques have been
observed and studied but due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Persuasion appears various forms. In life, the world often offers and persuades negative and positive
examples using ethos, pathos and logo. Many advertisements advertise harmful and others advertise
substances and people tend to respond variously towards persuasion. Some believe they are immune to
persuasion, yet persuasion can be subtle. How an individual responds to persuasion can depend on a
variety of factors. The main factor implies on the audience themselves. In order to persuade, one must
analyze the audience. The audience may appear differently; there are supportive audiences whom
begin with support, there are uncommitted audiences whom are neutral, there are also indifferent
audiences whom need the persuader to grab their attention, and there is also the opposed audience.
The opposed audience are the hardest to convince; they are against the persuader from the start. The
same techniques of Pathos, Ethos, and Logos apply, but with the use of different extents.
Motivation is a necessary method for persuasion. Motivation acts as an incentive for the audience to
act or behave in a certain way. This method causes an individual to act the way they act, and do the
things they do, moreover, refuse doing the things they do not want to. Motivation acts as a guide in an
individual s life. In many scenarios, one s motivation is fear. The fear may be of losing a need, or
desire, thus, resulting with an outcome or reward that does not

As one of the few books with LGBT themes out there, it is really heartwarming to see how much
literature is diversifying. It is especially pleasing that, while the LGBT themes are very frequent

So whether you are here for the laughs or here to be introspective, this book will draw you in with its

Gun Control Now And The Federal Level
Gun Control Now
Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now,
we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly
between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level.
As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a
firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and
handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced
to 0 and 18 respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine
guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S.
Code § 922).
Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain
weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to
possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which
includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such
weapons.
Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the
NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which
includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Depression
Black Cloud Everyone occasionally feels sad at some point of their lives. These feelings can be short
lived or can last for a couple of days. When you feel depressed , it interferes with our daily life and
causes pain for both yourself and the people who care about you. Depression is a mood disorder
causing a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. (Dictionary 2015) Many people view
depression and sadness as the same thing. Part of the confusion is that sadness is the most
recognizable symptom for depression. Depression is not sadness. Depression is an illness that occurs
through the brain. Depression experiences physical symptoms. Depression needs treatment.
Depression can be a black cloud that can follow you everywhere you go. Major depressive disorder is
one of the most common mental disorders in the United States. Each year about 6.7% of U.S adults
experience major depressive disorder.(National Institute of Mental Health 2015) Women are 70 %
more likely than men to experience depression during their lifetime. Non Hispanic blacks are 40% less
likely than non Hispanic whites to experience depression during their lifetime.(National Institute of

James Joyce s A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man
The popularity of the coming of age novel in the Twentieth and the Twenty First Centuries reveals a
deepening understanding of the impact of childhood and adolescent experiences in the long term
development of adulthood. Such is the case of James Joyce s A portrait of the Artist as a Young Man,
which explores the lasting impact of Steven Dedalus boyhood and teenage years on his destiny as an
artist. The majority of the novel centres on these early years and draws upon the conventions of the
Bildungsroman. The narrative largely is driven by impressionistic and sensory language which
initially focuses on Steven s encounters with the world but eventually turns inwards to focus on his
emotional development and understanding of himself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore Joyce s purpose is further revealed through his protagonist s view of the artist. Steven
expresses the view of the role of the artist as an individual who chooses to isolate themselves; through
the strict focalisation and the stream of consciousness the reader is able to experience Steven s
isolation and the development of his artistic expression (Belanger xxiv). However, as a result of this
isolation we are given limited insight into the way Steven is perceived by others. One of the only
descriptions given is from his rival at Belvedere, Heron. He says, Dedalus is model youth. He doesn t
smoke and doesn t go to bazaars and he doesn t flirt and he doesn t damn anything and damn all.
(Joyce 57). The repetition of doesn t implies that Steven is reluctant to participate in the world around
him, that in fact he does isolate himself from others and to an extent becomes an observer of life.
Ultimately, Joyce does not prioritise the perception of Steven by others, choosing to focus on Steven s
perception of himself.
The novel opens with the story of the baby tuckoo, which Steven realises is him, He was baby tuckoo.
The moocow came down the road where Betty Byrne lived (Joyce 3). This short tale becomes a
microcosm the entire novel and sets the tone for a narrative of self discovery and realisation (Belanger
ix). Following

off the cause. The cause of John going berserk was Iosef. Iosef was a terrible person who though he

Growth of Insurance Business in India
History of Insurance Business
In Ancient World
Insurance has been an institution of human society for thousands of years, having been by Chinese and
Babylonian traders as long ago as the second millennium BC. The Babylonian developed a system
which was recorded in the famous Code of Hammurabi C. 1750 BC, and practiced by early
Mediterranean sailing merchants. If a merchant receives a loan to fund his shipment, he would pay the
lender an additional sum in exchange for the lender s guarantee to cancel the loan should the shipment
be stolen.

Insurance in India
Life Insurance
In India, even from the days of Indus Valley civilization, the provision of taking care of the
dependents of those dying was practiced. Further, the concept of joint family system in itself is a
method of taking care of the dependents of those who die prematurely. In Manu Manav Dharma
Shasthra there are mentions about taking care of the dependents of those dying as also taking care of
people during old age. The term Yogakshema is found in Rig Veda thereby indicating the existence of
some type of joint family system even 300 years ago. In the times of Buddha, mention about the
existence of Burial System is available, thereby indicating the concept of mutual welfare, which is
nothing but the Life Insurance in action.
With the establishment of the Oriental Life Insurance Company, a British firm in Kolkata, the business
of Indian insurance started in the year 1818. Later on, Bombay Mutual Assurance Society Limited was
started in 1870, following by Oriental Life Assurance Company, Bharat, Empire of India in 1894,

Fallacies
According to Owl Purdue, fallacies are normal mistakes in thinking that will undermine the rationale
of your contention. Fallacies can be either illegitimate arguments or superfluous focuses, and are
frequently recognized on the grounds that they lack evidence to support their case. In a Letter to the
Editor titled Gay Marriage in the US , the writer, Dan G, shares his views against the legalization of
gay marriage. He discusses how he doesn t want his children exposed to public displays of affection

Written by Walter Sosnosky, the writer shares his angry view of how he felt Officer Wilson was found
guilty merely because he was a white officer and the victim was a black man. In his letter, he writes,
America found Officer Wilson guilty of murdering Mr. Michael Brown based on one fact, that Officer
Wilson is white. All that you have done was sent a message to all America and the world that mob
justice leaves only death, destruction and more hatred. When are we as a nation going to wake up and
face the fact that through unity and respect of the judicial system can we live in trust and peace. I
believe that Mr. Sosnosky was making a hasty generalization. A hasty generalization is a contention
that assumes all are the same, however, there are excessively few occurrences, making it impossible to
backing such a case. The writer suggests that all of America found Officer Wilson guilty. That isn t
possible when a jury consists of 12 people and there are over 321 million people in the United States.
He also argues that a message was sent to all of America and the world that mob justice leaves only
death, annihilation and further hate (Sosnosky). I believe that Mr. Sosnosky has also used two logical
fallacies in one statement, a hasty generalization and a slippery slope. He made a hasty generalization
when he says that a message was sent to all of America and the whole world. This simply is not
possible. I am sure there are many people who are not even familiar with the case, not only in the
United States, but throughout the world. In this letter, you will also find he used a slippery slope
fallacy, in which Walter Sosnosky states that mob justice leaves only death, annihilation and further
hate. The Slippery Slope is a fallacy in which somebody expresses that some event should occur after
another with no contention for the inevitability of the occasion being alluded to. A great part of the

on a higher, more spiritual and metaphorical level through its Manichean qualification and its religious
stakes with the comparison with the concept of conversion. Here is presented a Manichaean (from
Manichaeism) view of the world, Dr Jekyll and Hyde are here opposed on the spectrum of good and
evil. This is demonstrated by the abundance of the qualifier evil for Hyde: sold a slave to my original
evil , was pure evil , my evil or one was wholly evil . Although, the opposition is also made clear as it
is: The evil side of my nature (...) was less robust and less developed than the good which I had just
deposed . This, as I take it, was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen throughout the entire novella with the onomastic name of Hyde, as pointed out by
Utterson s pun, it can also mean hide . Evil was therefore hiding, lurking, within Dr Jekyll the entire
time but was emphasised by strict moral value and finally set free with Dr Jekyll transgressive
experiments. This transgression to the natural and universal orders seem to affect his surroundings, the
night is now accursed . The constellations looked down upon (him) , he defies God for he admits he
had defied his unsleeping vigilance . This extract describes how the transformation operates on
multiple level including the metaphorical, allegorical and religious one. But then, how does this
extract really treats of the question of duality?
This extract exploits this question on a literary level, through the literal dual personae of Jekyll and
Hyde with definite mental and physical differences but also through a characterisation of the Victorian
context. As soon as he drank the potion he felt physically different: I was suddenly aware that I had
lost in stature , whereas Dr Jekyll had often been described as an imposing man the stature (...) of
Henry Jekyll , Mr Hyde seems to have shrunk compared to Dr Jekyll. He is indeed

Passion And Love In KillingsAndA Rose For Emily
These two short stories delve on the theme of passion, crime and morality. The violence committed in
both stories is deployed with the threat of love and with the longing for love as well. Killings portrays
a father s love to his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the own crime he has
committed led to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The character is in ironic position since
he was confronted with the ardent desire to revenge and the guilt that came with it. Anger and
righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for Emily portrays love
as the root cause of the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his daughter s woman life which
eventually led to her killing her lover to find eternal love. The two stories are the same in some aspect
in terms of the theme which revolves on passion and crime. However, the character differs greatly on
the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings , the character felt guilt and a sort of self
death. The character in A rose for Emily on the other hand, died with no remorse for what she
committed.
The story of Killings by Andre Dubus centers on the theme of vengeance. The lead character, Matt
Fowler, plotted revenge on the young man who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a private
vengeance rather than an act of protection. However, Matt Fowler s act was even motivated by the
desire to protect his wife who suffered tremendously just by seeing the

In this study, a Spark Ignition (SI) RENAULT F4RT engine has been modeled with $3$ gases (air, fuel
and burned gas). It is a four cylinder, in line Port Fuel Injector (PFI), engine in which the engine
displacement is $SI{2000}{cm^3}$. The combustion is considered as homogeneous. The air path
(AP) consists in a turbocharger with a mono scroll turbine controlled by a waste gate, an intake
throttle and a downstream compressor heat exchanger. This engine is equipped with two Variable

Environmental Challenges Facing The American Automotive...
Environmental Challenges Facing the American Automotive Industry Since Henry Ford invented the
mass production techniques that made cars affordable to the public, the United State s economy has
been dramatically influenced by this key component in its affluence. Exponentially, jobs were created
because the auto business grew. Employees were needed for the constantly growing assembly lines.
Consequently, Ford s model Ts became the primary preferred, affordable, mass manufactured cars.
(Davis, 2012). For more than a century, the United States automotive industry constantly had a large
impact on the national economy. The quantity of cars sold annually has always been a reliable
indicator of the nation s economic well being. Thus, once the recession hit in 2008, automotive sales
declined sharply, indicating the decrease in customer purchase power. Environmental challenges
impacting the American automotive industry consist of, yet not limited to, fierce global competition,
vigorous technological advancements race, emissions and governmental approach toward a cleaner
environment and, finally, customer satisfaction of the American product.
Global competition resulted in decreased market share for American automobile makers and
jeopardized company profits as a lot of foreign brands approached the American market. The overall
market share of General Motors fell from 28.2% in 2000 to 17.6% by 2014. (Investopedia, 2015). The
remaining duo of the big three automobile makers lost

Dulce et Decorum est is a poem written by Wilfred Owen, an English soldier in 1917. This poem tells
us that fighting in World War One isn t as sweet and fitting as the government had described to the
young soldiers. For example, the second half of the third stanza is a bitter accusation to the
government, who had said that dying in the war would be sweet and fitting for your country by using
his own friend s death to contradict this claim with several writing techniques to describe it. Firstly,
Owen expresses how fighting in the war isn t as sweet and fitting as the government had described to
the young soldiers using various similes describing how tiring and stressful it is to fight in the war. For

The Power Of Magnetism And Electricity Since Ancient Times
Introduction:
Mankind has been aware of the presence of magnetism and electricity since ancient times. Prehistoric
man observed instances of lightning and static electricity, as well even creating a primitive version of
the compass. Magnetism wasn t officially discovered until the late 16th Century, and it would be even
longer until scientists learn to wield electricity for demonstrations in the 18th Century. Now, three
hundred years later, we are combining these two forces to enhance transportation across the globe.
From underground subway systems, all electric cars and even hover cars, electromagnetism has
revolutionized the way we get around.
Once the concepts of electricity and magnetism were grasped, it did not take long for automobile
manufacturers to begin to use electricity and magnetism to improve their products. Before the starter
motor was implemented, engines had to be manually primed by the use of a hand crank. Not only was
this a bothersome inconvenience to automobile owners, but it was dangerous as well. Any number of
injuries could be sustained from a back firing engine. As engines became larger and more powerful, it
also became more physically demanding to start them, making it almost impossible for those with any
sort of handicap to operate without assistance.
History:
In 1896, in East Peckham, England, H.J. Dowsing installed the first electric starter on an Arnold, and
the idea soon spread to the United States. Cadillac released self starting models in

Animals Have Been Used For Animal Therapy From Early As
Animals have been used for animal therapy from early as the 18th century (Chu et al., 2009). Animals
have been shown to aid in lowering stress, feelings of isolation and depression. Studies have shown
that different types of animal therapy can be helpful with a range of mental illnesses, from
schizophrenia to anxiety to dementia. There are many ways that animals can be implemented into
different forms of therapy. There are uses for animals in psychological and physical therapy. Each of
these present paths to help different types of mental illnesses in separate ways. For my research, I

contributions to human health.

That would have allowed for perspective on both sides which would have been good data to have, but
there is a lot of data to compare the characteristics that pets present that make them feel like family
members.
Next, the focus turned more on questions about therapy animals and what those surveyed knew about
animal therapy. These questions, Which animal would you choose to have as a therapy animal? , and
What animals have you seen used as therapy animals? , are able to gauge the knowledge of therapy
animals and the frequency that some animals are used compared to others. The question about which
animal the participant would choose was based on the idea of less common animals, such as goats,
being used as therapy animals and if someone would choose a farm animal as a therapy aid.
The last section of questions focused on mental health and stress. The questions were based around the
mental health and/or stress level of the participant to see how these factors may affect their opinion on
the use of therapy animals for psychological therapy. The responses collected compare the stress level
of the participant and their feelings on an animal s positive influence on their own mental health or
decrease in stress levels. These questions were based off some of the information that I found in the
article by Mills (2014). He wrote about the bonds between humans and animals and how they have

  • 2. How to Treat a Stained Tooth Fissure Introduction The morphological configuration of the occlusal surface of the first permanent molar is the most vulnerable and susceptible tooth surface to dental decay and the incidence of caries on these surfaces is still rising. There are occasions where the fissures of these teeth are stained and at the time of deciding the appropriate treatment the question arises whether we should or we should not treat them. When there are dentists that think that seal over a stained fissure is the right treatment choice, there is evidence suggested by others that a stained fissure should not be treated as a sound fissure. There are teeth with questionable or suspicious occlusal surfaces, in which we can notice that there have been changes from the clear sound fissures even without loss of surface and it is dubious to decide whether or not it should be treated as it could be an incipient but not cavitated fissure. A stained fissure means a fissure that is discoloured, brown or black, even an area of white or opaque enamel where its normal translucidency is lost but it has no evidence of surface breakdown (cavitation). Discoloured fissures does not necessary indicate an active caries process and they may represent sounds surfaces (where the discolouration descends from organic material trapped in the fissure) or non cavitated caries lesions (where the demineralised enamel has been stained and possibly arrested). It is doubtful if a discoloured fissure expresses generally a viable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay On Syncope Introduction: Orthostatic symptoms are common in children and adolescents such that 15% experience syncope once in their teenage years.1 A comprehensive history, physical examination, bedside orthostatic testing and an ECG are usually sufficient for diagnosis combined with prevention measures for postural intolerance and reassurance being sufficient in most cases.2 4 Many patients with orthostatic intolerance (OI) have limitations of daily activities with reduced school attendance and impaired quality of life.5 A subset of children with OI may have an underlying disorder (autoimmune condition, mitochondrial insufficiency, diabetes mellitus etc.) and thus diagnosis can be elusive and expensive.6 Syncope is obvious and readily recognized to the extent that patients are frequently evaluated in an emergency room and office setting. Clinical characteristics are described in children with syncope but literature is limited in describing those many patients who present with symptoms other than syncope.7,8 We studied the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of children and adolescents with OI who had autonomic dysfunction based on head up tilt table test (HUTT). Materials and methods From November 2010 to June 2012, we obtained medical records of patients with OI and HUTT. Our institutional review board approved this study. Branding and Marketing of MDL for the Twin Cities Market Although they may seem one in the same, we want to explain and differentiate the terms Branding and Marketing. • 6. Essay On Abnormality, Classification Systems And... Definition of abnormality, classification systems and demographics of psychological disorders The poster is going to outline the definition of abnormality and describe two diagnostic classification systems whilst referencing the diagnostic criteria for Schizophrenia and an overlook of its subtype catatonic schizophrenia. An analysis of the validity, reliability, practicalities and ethical issues will be covered when referring to the diagnostic classification systems and lastly the demographics and statistics surrounding schizophrenia with reference to age, gender and ethnicity will be thoroughly examined Statistical Infrequency By using the statistical infrequency definition, a person s way of thinking or behaviour is classified as abnormal if it is statistically unusual amongst a selected society. With this definition it is very important to decide how statistically rare a behaviour or trait is before it is classified as abnormal. For example a person who has a higher IQ level than the society s average is then classified as abnormal but contrary to this a person would be highly regarded for their intelligence, this is due to the method failing to identify the appeal of that certain trait (Cardwell, Clark and Meldrum, 2008). As mentioned the definition ignores desirability of some behaviours and traits, it also does not take in to account of cultural differences and it is not clear by how much a behaviour should deviate from what s normal for it to be considered abnormal ... The uses of variety of color fabrics and fine fit cutting in qipao high collar and shorter hem, makes Mrs. Chan s symmetry of the body appears more exquisite and the various colors of qipao incisively reflects the oriental feminine charm and also suggest the rich and exquisite emotional world of the character. Mrs. Chan took advantage of the landlord s absence to Zhou Muyun s home with yellow qipao, symbolizing the pleasant and warm atmosphere around them; and when Mrs. Chan decided to run away with Zhou Muyun, the qipao on her body turned green green is vital and symbolic of life and it is a metaphor of Mrs. Chan make up her mind to start a new life with Zhou Muyun. In life, the world often offers and persuades negative and positive examples using ethos, pathos and logo. Many advertisements advertise harmful and others advertise substances and people tend to respond variously towards persuasion. Some believe they are immune to persuasion, yet persuasion can be subtle. How an individual responds to persuasion can depend on a variety of factors. The main factor implies on the audience themselves. In order to persuade, one must analyze the audience. The audience may appear differently; there are supportive audiences whom begin with support, there are uncommitted audiences whom are neutral, there are also indifferent audiences whom need the persuader to grab their attention, and there is also the opposed audience. The opposed audience are the hardest to convince; they are against the persuader from the start. The same techniques of Pathos, Ethos, and Logos apply, but with the use of different extents. Motivation is a necessary method for persuasion. Motivation acts as an incentive for the audience to act or behave in a certain way. This method causes an individual to act the way they act, and do the things they do, moreover, refuse doing the things they do not want to. Motivation acts as a guide in an individual s life. • 12. Gun Control Now And The Federal Level Gun Control Now Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now, we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level. As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced to 0 and 18 respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S. Code § 922). Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such weapons. Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short ... • 16. James Joyce s A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man The popularity of the coming of age novel in the Twentieth and the Twenty First Centuries reveals a deepening understanding of the impact of childhood and adolescent experiences in the long term development of adulthood. Such is the case of James Joyce s A portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, which explores the lasting impact of Steven Dedalus boyhood and teenage years on his destiny as an artist. The majority of the novel centres on these early years and draws upon the conventions of the Bildungsroman. The narrative largely is driven by impressionistic and sensory language which initially focuses on Steven s encounters with the world but eventually turns inwards to focus on his emotional development and understanding of himself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore Joyce s purpose is further revealed through his protagonist s view of the artist. Steven expresses the view of the role of the artist as an individual who chooses to isolate themselves; through the strict focalisation and the stream of consciousness the reader is able to experience Steven s isolation and the development of his artistic expression (Belanger xxiv). However, as a result of this isolation we are given limited insight into the way Steven is perceived by others. One of the only descriptions given is from his rival at Belvedere, Heron. He says, Dedalus is model youth. He doesn t smoke and doesn t go to bazaars and he doesn t flirt and he doesn t damn anything and damn all. (Joyce 57). The repetition of doesn t implies that Steven is reluctant to participate in the world around him, that in fact he does isolate himself from others and to an extent becomes an observer of life. Ultimately, Joyce does not prioritise the perception of Steven by others, choosing to focus on Steven s perception of himself. The novel opens with the story of the baby tuckoo, which Steven realises is him, He was baby tuckoo. The moocow came down the road where Betty Byrne lived (Joyce 3). This short tale becomes a microcosm the entire novel and sets the tone for a narrative of self discovery and realisation (Belanger ix). Following ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Insurance in India Life Insurance In India, even from the days of Indus Valley civilization, the provision of taking care of the dependents of those dying was practiced. Further, the concept of joint family system in itself is a method of taking care of the dependents of those who die prematurely. In Manu Manav Dharma Shasthra there are mentions about taking care of the dependents of those dying as also taking care of people during old age. The term Yogakshema is found in Rig Veda thereby indicating the existence of some type of joint family system even 300 years ago. In the times of Buddha, mention about the existence of Burial System is available, thereby indicating the concept of mutual welfare, which is nothing but the Life Insurance in action. • 20. Fallacies According to Owl Purdue, fallacies are normal mistakes in thinking that will undermine the rationale of your contention. Fallacies can be either illegitimate arguments or superfluous focuses, and are frequently recognized on the grounds that they lack evidence to support their case. In a Letter to the Editor titled Gay Marriage in the US , the writer, Dan G, shares his views against the legalization of gay marriage. He discusses how he doesn t want his children exposed to public displays of affection by same sex couples. Oregon gave out 200 marriage licenses to gay couples. He argues that same sex marriage wasn t yet legal and questioned why the county was in such a rush to marry them (G, Dan). He used a false analogy when comparing ... Written by Walter Sosnosky, the writer shares his angry view of how he felt Officer Wilson was found guilty merely because he was a white officer and the victim was a black man. In his letter, he writes, America found Officer Wilson guilty of murdering Mr. Michael Brown based on one fact, that Officer Wilson is white. All that you have done was sent a message to all America and the world that mob justice leaves only death, destruction and more hatred. When are we as a nation going to wake up and face the fact that through unity and respect of the judicial system can we live in trust and peace. I believe that Mr. Sosnosky was making a hasty generalization. A hasty generalization is a contention that assumes all are the same, however, there are excessively few occurrences, making it impossible to backing such a case. The writer suggests that all of America found Officer Wilson guilty. That isn t possible when a jury consists of 12 people and there are over 321 million people in the United States. He also argues that a message was sent to all of America and the world that mob justice leaves only death, annihilation and further hate (Sosnosky). I believe that Mr. Sosnosky has also used two logical fallacies in one statement, a hasty generalization and a slippery slope. He made a hasty generalization when he says that a message was sent to all of America and the whole world. This simply is not possible. I am sure there are many people who are not even familiar with the case, not only in the United States, but throughout the world. In this letter, you will also find he used a slippery slope fallacy, in which Walter Sosnosky states that mob justice leaves only death, annihilation and further hate. The Slippery Slope is a fallacy in which somebody expresses that some event should occur after another with no contention for the inevitability of the occasion being alluded to. The Evil Side Of Good And Evil The transformation also has a clear cut transcendental value, depending on moral grounds elevates it on a higher, more spiritual and metaphorical level through its Manichean qualification and its religious stakes with the comparison with the concept of conversion. Here is presented a Manichaean (from Manichaeism) view of the world, Dr Jekyll and Hyde are here opposed on the spectrum of good and evil. This is demonstrated by the abundance of the qualifier evil for Hyde: sold a slave to my original evil , was pure evil , my evil or one was wholly evil . Although, the opposition is also made clear as it is: The evil side of my nature (...) was less robust and less developed than the good which I had just deposed . This, as I take it, was ... This transgression to the natural and universal orders seem to affect his surroundings, the night is now accursed . The constellations looked down upon (him) , he defies God for he admits he had defied his unsleeping vigilance . This extract describes how the transformation operates on multiple level including the metaphorical, allegorical and religious one. But then, how does this extract really treats of the question of duality? This extract exploits this question on a literary level, through the literal dual personae of Jekyll and Hyde with definite mental and physical differences but also through a characterisation of the Victorian context. • 22. Passion And Love In KillingsAndA Rose For Emily These two short stories delve on the theme of passion, crime and morality. The violence committed in both stories is deployed with the threat of love and with the longing for love as well. Killings portrays a father s love to his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the own crime he has committed led to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The character is in ironic position since he was confronted with the ardent desire to revenge and the guilt that came with it. Anger and righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for Emily portrays love as the root cause of the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his daughter s woman life which eventually led to her killing her lover to find eternal love. The two stories are the same in some aspect in terms of the theme which revolves on passion and crime. However, the character differs greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings , the character felt guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A rose for Emily on the other hand, died with no remorse for what she committed. The story of Killings by Andre Dubus centers on the theme of vengeance. The lead character, Matt Fowler, plotted revenge on the young man who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a private vengeance rather than an act of protection. However, Matt Fowler s act was even motivated by the desire to protect his wife who suffered tremendously just by seeing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Environmental Challenges Facing The American Automotive... Environmental Challenges Facing the American Automotive Industry Since Henry Ford invented the mass production techniques that made cars affordable to the public, the United State s economy has been dramatically influenced by this key component in its affluence. Exponentially, jobs were created because the auto business grew. Employees were needed for the constantly growing assembly lines. Consequently, Ford s model Ts became the primary preferred, affordable, mass manufactured cars. (Davis, 2012). For more than a century, the United States automotive industry constantly had a large impact on the national economy. The quantity of cars sold annually has always been a reliable indicator of the nation s economic well being. Thus, once the recession hit in 2008, automotive sales declined sharply, indicating the decrease in customer purchase power. Environmental challenges impacting the American automotive industry consist of, yet not limited to, fierce global competition, vigorous technological advancements race, emissions and governmental approach toward a cleaner environment and, finally, customer satisfaction of the American product. Global competition resulted in decreased market share for American automobile makers and jeopardized company profits as a lot of foreign brands approached the American market. The overall market share of General Motors fell from 28.2% in 2000 to 17.6% by 2014. (Investopedia, 2015). The remaining duo of the big three automobile makers lost ... • 32. The Power Of Magnetism And Electricity Since Ancient Times Introduction: Mankind has been aware of the presence of magnetism and electricity since ancient times. Prehistoric man observed instances of lightning and static electricity, as well even creating a primitive version of the compass. Magnetism wasn t officially discovered until the late 16th Century, and it would be even longer until scientists learn to wield electricity for demonstrations in the 18th Century. Now, three hundred years later, we are combining these two forces to enhance transportation across the globe. From underground subway systems, all electric cars and even hover cars, electromagnetism has revolutionized the way we get around. Once the concepts of electricity and magnetism were grasped, it did not take long for automobile manufacturers to begin to use electricity and magnetism to improve their products. Before the starter motor was implemented, engines had to be manually primed by the use of a hand crank. Not only was this a bothersome inconvenience to automobile owners, but it was dangerous as well. Any number of injuries could be sustained from a back firing engine. As engines became larger and more powerful, it also became more physically demanding to start them, making it almost impossible for those with any sort of handicap to operate without assistance. These questions, Which animal would you choose to have as a therapy animal? , and What animals have you seen used as therapy animals? , are able to gauge the knowledge of therapy animals and the frequency that some animals are used compared to others. The question about which animal the participant would choose was based on the idea of less common animals, such as goats, being used as therapy animals and if someone would choose a farm animal as a therapy aid. The last section of questions focused on mental health and stress. The questions were based around the mental health and/or stress level of the participant to see how these factors may affect their opinion on the use of therapy animals for psychological therapy. The responses collected compare the stress level of the participant and their feelings on an animal s positive influence on their own mental health or decrease in stress levels.
