Background
Play is an occupation in which all children should engage in to enhance development. Play should be
enjoyable, fun, impulsive and naturally motivating. When children engage in play, they are able to
discover their surrounding environments, experiment with ideas, and learn from experience (Garvey,
1977; Rubin, Fein Vandenberg, 1983; Smith Vollstedt, 1985, as cited by Mastrangelo, 2009). Due to
social, cognitive and emotional difficulties, children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
are unable to develop play skills at the same rate as children without

Why Is Richard Cory Wrong
In the poem Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson, town members recall the frequent visits of a
high class man before his sudden suicide. As the town s people describe Richard Cory, they focus on
his reputation and all the ways he differs from them. This significantly contributes to his unhappiness
because the problem that he faces is the combination of both his discontent with his own status and
inability to fit in with the rest of society.
In the people s description of Richard Cory, they mention facts about his rank, which pertain to his
noble persona, but also reveals the things the town s people overlook:
And admirably schooled in every grace;
In fine, we thought that he was everything. (Robinson 39)
Richard Corry was not schooled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a distance that separates Richard Cory from the people in the town. The town s people
suggest this when they refer to themselves as we implying a unification or sense of community and
exclude Richard Cory with their use of him. They compare themselves to Richard Cory, and because
of the noticeable differences in their character, they do not regard him as an equal. Instead, they
consider him superior. They point this out when they explain that they think that he is everything. It is
significant that they do not simply belief that Richard Cory has everything, but that he is everything.
This is because it demonstrates that they regard Richard Cory s importance for not only the things he
possesses, but for who he is. The people describe his as everything because in comparison to
themselves they appear to have nothing. Richard Cory reminds them of all the things that they do not
have but wish they did. This makes it even more difficult for Richard Cory to blend in with the rest of
the town, as he wants. They would never understand how someone who they perceive to be so
privileged could want anything

Internal Revenue Service
ACA1 Task 302.2.3 The Internal Revenue Service provides five different tax filing statuses to choose
from when filing individual tax returns: 1. Single 2. Married filing separately 3. Married filing jointly
4. Head of household 5. Qualifying widow(er) with dependent child(ren) A. Recommended Tax Filing
Status After reviewing the financial data for spouse A and B, it is my recommendation that the couple
file their taxes using the married filing jointly status. The couple qualifies for two personal exemptions
(one each) and three exemptions for their dependent children. While spouse B s mother lived with the
couple during the year, they will receive no exemptions for her. Spouse B s mother pays the couple

The couple experienced a passive loss on two of their rental properties. They had total income of
$23,000 in rent for both properties, but they also experienced expenses and depreciation in the amount
of $29,200 resulting in a $6,200 loss. 2. The couple experienced a $44,000 gain on the sale of their
third rental property. This gain would be counterbalanced by any purchase/selling costs,
repairs/improvements, rental income and depreciation on the rental property. Couple A and B would
be able to use their passive loss of $6,200 to offset their passive income of $44,000. The couple had no
prior year losses from passive activities therefore they would report a passive gain of $37,800. With a
modified adjusted gross income over $100,000 the couple would file using Form 8582. A4.
Adjustments to Income Adjusted gross income (AGI) is total income less all allowable adjustments.
To determine the couple s adjusted gross income the following items must be considered: 1. Spouse A
s alimony in the amount of $7,200 2. Keogh retirement plan contributions 3. Spouse A s self
employment tax from the partnership 4. Self employed health insurance deduction

Why Everyone Needs A Food Reserve
The current political situation in the United States has shaken people to the core. What once was a
stable country has quickly disrupted into chaos. This has lead many people to wonder what the future
might hold for those who are already struggling to get by. But it doesn t have to be this way though.
With careful planning, Americans can regain some control over their lives. And the best place to start
is with their food supply.
Why Everyone Needs a Food Reserve
Years ago, families always had a stocked up pantry. They joined together to grow the food that was in
it themselves before spending many hours in the kitchen preserving the fruits of their labor. They had
to. There was no way that they could survive the long winters if they didn t. But since stores have all
the food and supplies that everyone needs now, modern folks have ... Show more content on

It takes time to accumulate it all. However, there are a few tips that can help make the process easier
though. First of all, purchase some large containers with air tight lids to them. Use these to store the
dried goods that are usually sold in paper or plastic bags. The containers will help prevent insects from
getting in the food. They will also help ensure that the food doesn t spoil. Next, go through all the food
supplies that you already have. List them all out on a food inventory sheet. That way, you will know
how much of each item is already in the pantry. As you buy more food, list it on the sheet. It will be
easier to buy extras if you watch sales at the local grocery stores. It doesn t matter what order that you
stock up on each item, but it helps to work your way down the list of supplies that you will need. Don
t forget to include bottled water to go with the food when you are shopping. If you are having trouble
finding certain items in large enough quantities, consider checking online for them. Many prepper
sites offer them for a reasonable

Mabo Decision Essay
The Mabo decision was a significant event for the civil right of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people. Discuss.
The Mabo decision took place in 1974, it was a significant event for the civil right of Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples. Before the Mabo case, indigenous people did not receive the basic
human right in Australia, they have to fight, in order to vote, paid equally, to be served in shops and go
to public places with the white Australian. In 1974, Eddie Mabo discovered that the island they live in
does not belongs to the Meriam people, so he decided to claim the land right through the Australia
court system. The Mabo case causes lots of changes to the indigenous people, but there are still some
challenges remains for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was said that the island they live in, belongs to no one until the British came. In 2006, Daniel Boyd
created a painting called We Call Them Pirate Out There, the idea behind this painting is to portray the
indigenous people s perspective of what British did when they came to Australia, the flag at the back
of the painting is a combination of the union jack and the jolly roger flag, this show that indigenous
people see them as pirate because the steal their land. This artwork draws a lot of attention around
Australia, it has perfectly symbolized colonial rule and captures the most iconic moment in Australia.

What Is The Libertarian View Of Justice
Most people strive to have a comfortable way of living, whether that be from working hard or signing
up for assistance. While some libertarians are under the impression that everything should be each
individual s own responsibility, they sometimes do not realize how much free assistance they have
gotten throughout their lives. On the other hand, people who get assistance from the government or
donors sometimes take advantage of other people instead of working hard. This position paper will
focus on two philosophers that state opposing views of justice: John Rawls and Robert Nozick. While
John Rawls stands behind justice as fairness, the libertarian view of justice is presented by Robert
Nozick. John Rawls justice as fairness is the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would not be fair if a child from a poor family was refused education because they did not have the
means to pay for it. It is only just if each child has the same opportunity to develop or expand their
talents. One of Rawls most popular ideas is the veil of ignorance. In this veil of ignorance, everyone is
forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when making a decision on
justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in the society. If a rich person
imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on justice are likely to change. If they
were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their paychecks to help the poor, imagining
themselves being poor would make them understand those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person
imagines being extremely rich, they would not like to have restrictions on how much money they are
allowed to make. Furthermore, this social contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to
make it the most just. Since all of the people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they
will give up what they feel is necessary to make the best bargain. It makes the rich realize that they
would still want the best education for their children even if they were poor. It also makes them
recognize the need for decent healthcare to all of the different classes. Adequate housing would also
be wanted for everyone if people did not know what class they would be

Essay On Coronary Artery Anomaly
A coronary artery anomaly (CAA) is defined as a congenital coronary artery malformation in the
absence of other congenital cardiac defects. As we continue to lack a screening tool to diagnose
CAAs, catheter directed angiography remains the gold standard both for diagnosis and treatment of
CAAs. Intervening CAAs continues to remain a complicated task even in the hands of experienced
operators. The greatest challenged faced in the management of CAAs is a delay in recognition largely
due to the element of surprise associated with their low prevalence. Other major factors which pose a
challenge during CAA interventions are the location of the coronary ostium within the aorta, the
proximal course of the vessel, and angulation of the vessel. We discuss ... Show more content on

Rapid Climate Change Events During The Period Between 10ka...
The last glacial period has encountered numerous large magnitude, rapid climate change events;
characterising the period between 10ka and 50ka (Steig, 1999). During this period was the Last
Glacial Maximum (LGM), which occurred approximately 21ka, a glacial period defined by changes in
greenhouse gases, sea level and ice sheets (Otto Bliesner et al., 2006). In comparison the mid
Holocene occurred approximately 6000 years ago, during the current interglacial. The Holocene
period is regarded as relatively muted in terms of signals of climate change, with changes primarily
associated with changes in seasonal solar radiance (Otto Bliesner et al., 2006; Steig, 1999).
Models have been constructed in order to replicate the past climates, with specific reference to The
Community Climate System Model: Version 3 (CCSM3), aimed to define continental scale dynamics,
variability and climate change (Collins et al., 2006). With the use of models the environmental
variation between the LGM and mid Holocene periods can be construed. Roche et al (2007) refers to
the LGM as the classic benchmark for models, enhanced by the use of proxy data associated with
ocean surfaces, vegetation, oceanic circulation and atmospheric conditions.
Clark et al (2009) presented the extent of the LGM, with growth of ice sheets to their maximum extent
occurring between 33ka and 26.5ka; primarily in response to climate forcing from decreases in
northern summer insolation, tropical Pacific sea surface

Architecture Of The Colosseum
Once the Colosseum had been built, it seems to have become the model for many, if not most, of those
that followed (Hopkins and Beard 2005, 24). The Colosseum stands proudly upon the villainous
Emperor Nero s once grand Valley of the Golden House, projecting the munificence of Imperial
Roman Architecture. Its ultimate design could be said to be formed through purpose or function.
However, this does not do justice to the importance of architecture within Roman society (Thornton
and Thornton in Lyes 1999, 2). The functions, whether it be religious or otherwise, of the Colosseum
were irrelevant to the ultimate design of the architecture, as the architectural features contained within
the Colosseum s ultimate design created an instant archetype, a marker of Romanness across the
empire (Hopkins and Beard 2005, 25). The clever use of the classical orders and façades, and
adaptation of existing Roman architecture of the period allowed the Colosseum to become a model for
many subsequent Roman amphitheatres, whilst showing the ingenuity of Roman architecture of the
period.
The architectural vocabulary of the Colosseum saw the clever use of existing Roman design practices
to create a final structure which became a precedent for all Amphitheatres which followed. Thus,
highlighting the overriding importance of the aesthetics the ultimate design displayed. The importance
of the appearance in the final design s architecture begins with the conventions which were used for

Henri Matisse Essay
Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse was born December 31st, 1869 to two storeowners, Emile and Heloise Matisse. His
father wanted him to be a lawyer, so later on in life he could takeover the family business. They sent
him to Henri Martin Grammar School where he studied to be a lawyer. There was a hint of artist in
Henri because while working as a lawyer s assistant he took up a drawing course (Essers 7). It was for
curtain design but it seemed to be destiny for a lawyer s assistant to take up such a distant hobby as
drawing. At the age of 21, his intestinal operation led to appendicitis. Henri was on bed rest for most
of 1890 and to help him occupy his time, his mother bought him a set of paints. That was the turning

Matisse then began studying at a school started by a fellow artist and friend Camillo because he was
not confident enough in his ability to be an independent artist. In 1903, Matisse started accepting
harshful commissions that took a toll on him. He became so sick that he though to give up painting.
This is when he produced Studio under the Eaves. Matisse told his son, That was the transition from
valeurs to colors (Essers 12). The next year he read Paul Signac s From Delacroix to Neo
Impressionism . Matisse began to move further away from the techniques and style of Impressionism.
The famous summer of 1905 was spent in Collioure with Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck. This
summer marked the most important turning point in Matisse s art career. During the summer, they
experimented with the pointillism techniques of Seurat, but towards the end of the summer, the three
artists had moved in a very different direction. The paintings produced in Collioure rejected
Impression and began a new movement. They exhibited their works in the Salon d Automne, which
they also founded in 1903. The paintings, View of Collioure and Le Bonheur de Vivre received loud
criticism from nearly everyone who had seen them. Louis Vauxcelles, gave them the name the Fauves
(Flam 79). They were nicknamed the wild beasts because of their use and experimentation with bright,
unnatural colors. Their grass was not green, but

SUBJECT: Visor product, Handspring
Executive Summary
Handspring, the client, is asking IDEO to design Visor product in approximately 10 months. The
design needs to be fully compatible and less expensive version of Palm V, development of which took
two years. Such short development time would require IDEO to compromise on its proven
development process and sacrifice the emphasis on innovation. Further more, Visor needs to be
superior to Palm V with an ability to allow adding new functionality easily. Handspring is also making
assumptions about the audience of Visor and audience s price as well as feature preferences, primarily

(refer exhibit B:TWOS analysis) Exhibit A: 4 C s Analysis
From a product management perspective, we decided to look at the 4C s: Category, Competition,
Customer, and Context.
Category: Handheld devices are clearly in aggressive growth stage. Products in this category are likely
to face some competitive pressure. However since the category itself is growing, Handspring can grab
market share without head on competition with current players. This opportunity may not be present
once the Category reaches maturity stage. Hence, it may be a bad idea to delay the product launch, for
designing an ideal product. Handspring will be better served by putting a functional product early on
than, ideal product much later.
It can be argued that handheld devices market is on the Chasm stage, as explained by Gordon Moore .
Handspring s plug in modules can be an innovative feature which can accelerate adoption of handheld
devices by masses. However, the currently proposed feature may not significant enough to be a
disruptive innovation. IDEO s time tested development process may help Handspring to develop a
truly innovative product. By reducing the product development time, Handspring will be loosing many
of the benefits bought on by IDEO.

such as high consumer market, remarkable consumer growth, and abundant natural resources (Global

It restricts the usage of data collection methods such as email survey and internet survey. These
methods have numerous advantages such as geographic flexibility, accurate real time data capture, and
cost effectiveness (Zikmund et al. 2012, p. 164 167). Accordingly, associated risks influencing
decision maker are outdated data, expensive data collection cost and less integration of data between
various markets (Cooper Schindler 2008, p. 6). On the other hand, limited accessibility of
infrastructure condition also adversely impact geographic coverage of the research (Greenland
Kwansah Aidoo 2012, p. 19). For instant roads are dominant transportation in Indonesia but many
road networks are in poor condition and plugging gaps (States News Service 2011). It is, therefore,
difficult for researchers to access particular consumer groups while the heterogeneity of emerging
market population is extreme (Burgess Steenkamp 2006, p. 345). Such non probability sampling could
lead to the representation bias from decision makers in which managers draw similarity and see
identical situations where they do not exist (Robbins et al. 2015, p. 216). Solutions The alternative
data source could be a valuable solution for decision maker to collect extensive data in limited
infrastructure condition. Three alternative data sources

The Cunningic Character Traits Of Odysseus
I think the one heroic character trait that fits Odysseus best is cunning . There are many stories from
The Wanderings that shows just how cunning Odysseus is; from tricking monsters like the cyclops, to
pretending to be a beggar so he could reclaim his kingdom. Some of these stories may not sound like
much but without Odysseus s cunning trait things would have ended up completely different. If
Odysseus didn t have his cunning trait he wouldn t have been able to trick the suitors into thinking he
was a beggar, but because Odysseus is such a cunning hero he is able to have much more power than
others. One great example to show just how cunning Odysseus is, is the story about the cyclops, who
had planned to eat Odysseus and his shipmates. One of the ideas that Odysseus had to get rid of the
cyclops was to have him drink so much wine that he wouldn t be able to focus and so he could be
knocked out. Tricking the cyclops gave Odysseus and his shipmates another chance to get away from
the cyclops. A piece of evidence from the cyclops story that shows Odysseus s cunning trait is a quote
from the story, it says My moment was at hand, and I went forward holding an ivy bowl of my dark
drink, this quote shows Odysseus s idea of giving the cyclops the wine so he would be knocked out
and so Odysseus could have a better chance at killing him and getting away. Another very interesting
story that showed Odysseus s cunning trait is the story of The Cattle of the Sun God. Odysseus

Another threat Logitech and many other technology companies faces are counterfeit. The technology
market has always struggled to compete with black market trading. In 2006, China and Hong Kong

On the Pulse of Morning, by Maya Angelou Essay
Hillary R. Clinton once said that There cannot be true democracy unless Women s voices are heard
(conference in Vienna, Austria 1997). That very brilliant quote relates to a very strong woman by the
name of Maya Angelou. Angelou is America s most visible black female autobiographer and speakers
(scholar Joanne M. Braxton). She is known for her speeches, poems, and books, but what stood out to
me the most was her 1993 inauguration speech when Bill Clinton was sworn into the White House.
Ironically, in her poem On the Pulse of Morning Maya Angelou uses clear rhetoric, prehistoric
metaphoric images, and inspirational concepts to alert her audience to treat the world differently. Born

Rhetoric in using language effectively and persuasive verbal communication, for example, Language

older audience, because a younger audience cannot relate some of her speech textual. The use of clear
rhetoric in her speeches makes her a truly amazing famous speaker. Moreover, the use of prehistoric
metaphoric images is directed at the audience to help them better embrace and value a new concept or

ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in

Cultural Difference Argument Is Not A Sound One
In this paper I will discuss Cultural Relativism and argue that the cultural difference argument is not a
sound one, because its premise does not prove or disprove its conclusion. Further, I will use this to
prove that morals can be objectively true and do not have to change on a culture to culture basis.
Cultural Relativism theorizes the nature of morality and whether moral truths are correct even if they
are not agreed on across all cultures. The outline of the Cultural Differences Argument is that we argue

This argument claims that we are not allowed to condemn another culture just because it is different
from our own. While it is an interesting idea to be tolerant and accepting of all choices from other
cultures, it is just not plausible. It is an acceptance which leads to no growth in society and results in
the inability to also criticize the negative aspects of a society. For example, if we agreed that each
culture has the right to believe and do as they please without outside interference, then we would not
be able to criticize slavery or anti semitism because they are just the thoughts of that culture. If we
were unable to criticize these fundamentally wrong ideas then there would be no growth in culture
since we would be unable to disconnect our society from morally incorrect thoughts and move them
on to better ideas. This thought that one s culture is always correct in its opinions not only makes it
impossible for one to criticize another culture, but it also makes it impossible for one to criticize their

Compare And Contrast Johnny Tremain
The book Johnny Tremain, and the Disney Movie Johnny Tremain have many similarities and
differences. Although the movie moves along the story in a timely manner, I would have enjoyed
seeing little Isannah running around the Lapham household. Or maybe Dove mocking Johnny. The
fact that Dove didn t burn Johnny s hand, or that Isannah didn t make an appearance once, made me
really dislike the movie. But I did like that Johnny s hand was burnt in both. Here I have given
reasoning as to the reasons why I liked and disliked the movie.
A big difference I noticed in the beginning of the movie was instead of Dove, Mrs. Lapham burned
Johnny s hand. In the book there is a boy named Dove who Johnny doesn t get along with very well.
When Johnny is making the sugar basin he asks Dove for a crubrical. But, Dove purposely grabs the
cracked crubrical and when Johnny starts to use it, he burns his hand. While in the movie Mrs.
Lapham trip s onto Johnny, thus causing him to fall and burn his hand on the liquid silver. I think that
Dove helped bring out the childish version of Johnny. Without Dove Johnny didn t really have

Isannah was the youngest sister of the Lapham household. She really helped bring out the motherly,
caring side of Cilla. Without her, Cilla will never feel the sorrow she felt when Isannah choose Lavinia

was Isannah didn t save Johnny in court. In the book she ran into the courtroom and her beauty help
Johnny win the case, It shows that bond of friendship and compassion that couldn t be broken over a
burnt hand. But since Isannah wasn t in the movie Cilla is the one who saves him but in a little
different way, she was his witness and her testimony saved him. It was more realistic but I wish they

University Art Museum
The University Art Museum Case Analysis
Suzana Duran MNGT 372
Professor Quimei Xu
I. Relevant Facts/Background
The Art Museum is a building on the university premises that is providing a place for the art collection
of a university. The building was given to the university by an alumnus around 1929. The wealthy son
of the university s first president served as the museum s unpaid director until his death. He brought a
few extra collections to the museum during his service, and while serving as unpaid director, none of
the collections was ever shown to anybody except a few members of the university s art history
faculty. The university practically gave the position to amateur art supporter, Miss Kirkoff, after the
director s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management
organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by the elderly
statesmen of the faculty that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its mission, its
direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What the university has
to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to accomplish them. The museum
is not thriving with the school as well as it has in the past, and the direction of the university is being
questioned. III. Critical Analysis
The later director wanted it to be a community resource as said in the case, and the museum gained
bad reputation during that time as an academic resource. The building was designed by Miss Kirkoff
to help university and its alumni in their pursuit of knowledge. It failed greatly to support the
university and the public. At the time, the museum expected to hire a director and allow them to shape
the museum in any way they see suitable. The university on the other hand should have identified the
direction they want the museum to head in and create guidelines for a director to fallow.
First, top managers at any organization, and in this case are the Dean and the board of directors of the
University, have to assess the opportunities and threats in external environment and internal strengths
and weaknesses as well. Next thing is to

The Role of Membership Fees on Public Goods
INTRODUCTION:
Public goods are goods that are neither excludable, nor rival in consumption. Excludability means the
extent the consumption of a good is limited, while rival refers to the extent the consumption of a
particular good limits the consumption of others who wants to consume that particular good. However,
some goods do not have both characteristics these goods are called pure public goods, meanwhile
others have either of the characteristics, they can be referred to as, club goods, local public goods,
common resources. Also, some goods are characterized as rival and excludable in consumption, these
goods are called private goods. Also, clubs goods, local public goods are refers to as quasi public
goods, although they may seem as public goods there very nature are not pure public goods. This
paper will focus more on public goods, as it will be used to explore the under supply of public goods
provision (Mcnutts 1991,930). The prominent characteristics of club goods is its excludability factor,
which might signify unequal distribution of the club goods, however, the club goods can be said to be
somewhat rivalrous as shown in table 1, this is because club goods can create a sense of rivalry for
individuals outside the club. Moreover, for individuals inside the club there might be rivalry in
consumption when a point of congestion is reached. The club theory proposes several solutions to
enhance the optimal provision of the club good, which includes membership fees (Bchir

HR Technology Reflection Assignment
29. Your grandma is having her annual osteoporosis checkup, which includes an iDXA scan. Six
months ago, she had a spinal fusion at L1 L3. Her clinician uses ISCD diagnostic criteria. How should
the scan proceed? If her clinician used WHO diagnostic criteria, would you recommend the same scan
procedure?
The scan should proceed using the dual femur and the forearm. Her spine would not be the appropriate
site to analyze. The dual femur and forearm should be used in this case because she has had surgery at
L1 L3. The rods and screws from the surgery, would most likely generate higher T scores and Z
scores, which will misdiagnose her analyzation. Moreover, her spine is not a good area to be scanned,
due to her surgery. Therefore, the clinician should still use ISCD to generate a diagnosis. If the
clinician used WHO I would still recommend using just the dual femur scan. WHO analyzes the
femoral neck. Therefore, the forearm would not be needed for analyzation with this particular
organization.

Currency Act Of 1764 Essay
The central pillar of the British economy during its colonial period was its extensive trading power.
Any threat to this power would have to be remedied sooner than later. For this exact reason the
Currency Act of 1764 was birthed. In spirit the Currency Act of 1764 was intended for the betterment
of British commerce. However, in actuality the Currency Act of 1764 had a negative impact on the
lives of British colonial residents. To understand the reason, and perhaps necessity, for the conception
of the Currency act of 1764, one must have a grasp of the economic situation in the American colonies
prior to 1764. The currency used in the American colonies has always revolved around, specie or the
two types of paper currency, legislatively issued legal tender or land bank notes (Finkelstein 39).
Foreign specie was far more common than British specie, due to an export prohibition of British
specie and an unfavorable balance of trade between the American colonies and Britain that drained
whatever British specie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Preparation of Synthetic Banana Oil Essay
Lab 5: Preparation of Synthetic Banana Oil
September 20th, 2012
Purpose:
The main purpose of this experiment was to synthesize banana oil (isopentyl acetate.) Ester are often
prepared by the Fischer esterification method, which involves heating a carboxylic acid with an
alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst.
Theory:
Synthesize isopentyl acetate by combining isopentyl alcohol with acetic acid and sulfuric acid and
then heating the reaction mixture under reflux for an hour. The alcohol is the limiting reactant, so it
should be weighed/ the acids can be measured by volume. The esterification reaction is reversible, and
it has an equilibrium constant of approximately 4.2. A pure component can be obtained from a mixture

When the reaction time is up, allow the reaction mixture to cool to about room temperature. Turn off
the cooling water and remove the reflux condenser. Transfer the reaction mixture to a separatory

aqueous layer, and leave the organic layer in the separatory funnel. Then carefully wash the organic
layer with two successive portion of 5% aqueous sodium bicarbonate, draining the aqueous layer after
each washing. During the first washing, stir the layers until gas evolution subsides before you stopper
the separatory funnel, and vent it frequently thereafter. Dry the crude isopentyl acetate with anhydrous
magnesium sulfate or sodium sulfate, and filter I by gravity. Using standard taper glassware, assemble
an apparatus for standard scale simple distillation. Be sure the thermometer is straight up as shown in
the picture below. Distill the crude product, collecting any liquid that distills between 137oC and

Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder Research Paper
Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is part of many veteran s lives in the U.S. today. PTSD is a
serious mental and emotional disorder that people often don t understand or don t know about. It s
defined as a mental illness that develops after a person has lived through a traumatizing event, such as
sexual assault, physical abuse, threat of death, or serious injury. Most people who experience a
distressing event don t develop PTSD, but for those who do, it s extremely terrifying to go through.
Many U.S. veterans have to deal with serious emotional and mental trauma after their time of fighting
is over. There aren t any statistics that show exactly how many people and veterans in the U.S. have
PTSD, because most veterans don t know they have a mental disorder. They don t seek help; therefore
statistics aren t certain. Studies have shown that at least 70% of adults have gone through a traumatic
event, and 20% of those people develop PTSD. That s approximately 31.3 million people. Further
investigation confirms that women are more likely to develop the illness than men are; approximately
1 out of 10 women will or have had PTSD. Combat veterans are even more likely to be diagnosed
with PTSD after returning from the military, and an estimated study says that one out of every five
veterans have or will develop the disorder. The military consists of 17% women, and 71% of those
women develop PTSD from sexual assault within the ranks. These are studies and estimates

Cybele Art Analysis
The first artwork I chose was August Rodin s piece titled Cybele is the body of the goddess of Mother
Earth. This piece was made in 1904 as an inspired piece of Michelangelo s damaged classical and
incomplete work. The piece s present location is in the Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden
outside of the Museum of Fine arts. The piece is a 3 D model of a body with no arms or a head. This
made out of casted bronze which makes a very smooth composition. Rodin s achievement as a
sculptor was to find a way to make the brute materiality of sculpture express the fleeting mobility of
the modern individual. To achieve this, he abandoned the polished and idealized figures of academic
sculpture and produced rougher, more unfinished surfaces, which better expressed restlessness,
corporeality, and movement. While this often suggests psychological agitation, it also evokes the
constant motion characteristic of life in modern times. I choose this piece because the nude human
body is a very beautiful thing to me as it symbolizes innocence and vulnerability. This second piece

Ethanol Fuel
Scientists are constantly looking for new and more efficient alternatives for fuel. Not only are these
for environmental purposes, but because of depleting fuel levels caused by over consumption. One
common substitute for fuel commonly ??? made of crude oil or petroleum is ethanol fuel. This fuel,
also know as ethyl alcohol, is created by the fermentation and distillation of corn. There are three main
advantages and disadvantages when contemplating the use of this alternative fuel.
First, although not popular in North America, it is possible to run cars on fuel containing pure ethanol.
This is evident with ethanol derived from the readily available sugarcane in Brazil. Manufacturing
vehicles that run on one hundred percent ethanol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Primarily, ethanol containing fuels sold commercially are almost always mixed with gasoline. These
gasoline ethanol blends either contain only ten percent ethanol or eighty five percent ethanol and are
only compatible with cars that contain special fuel systems. So although reducing, ethanol is not
eliminating the use of petroleum in transportation. Next, another factor making ethanol undesirable is
its fuel efficiency and availability. Approximately one third more ethanol is necessary to travel the
same distance as gasoline and fueling stations are much less prevalent. MORE SPARSE?. So, while
initially the fuel cost is lower than that of pure gasoline, consumers are usually spending the same
amount for fuel. The similar cost makes the hassle to find these fuel stations less justified
worthwhile?? for consumers. Finally, if ethanol use and production becomes more extensive, it could
affect global food and water supplies. More crops and farmland would be converted to produce
ethanol, leaving less for food consumption. This would not only increase the use of pesticides and
fertilizers but reduce water availability due to this nutrient needy? crop. This increased use of
pesticides and fertilizers contributes to water and soil contamination with runoff, including lake, river,
and drinking water. With reduced crops and fewer water supplies, prices of foods containing corn

The Pros And Cons Of Kim Jong-Un
Is it moral to sit back and allow thousands of people to be unfairly stripped of their human rights and
starved to death? For decades North Korea has been one of the most secretive societies and is one of
the few countries still under communist rule. The evil dictator, Kim Jong Un has total control over
every aspect of the citizen s lives. He has made sure to isolate his people from the rest of the world as
well as severely punish all who disobey him or his strict ruling. This has been a recurring problem for
the last couple of decades and it needs to be put to an end. The United States should take initiative and

How Did Paul Klee Influence Contemporary Artists
Paul Klee s artwork remains a constant controversy in subject matter and validity of uniqueness. In
order for one to analyze and critique his work, one would have to understand the metamorphosis of his

body of work cannot be confined to any particular artistic movement. In seeking to develop his
personal style, he produced a body of work embodying Impressionism, Cubism, Constructivism, and
abstraction which influenced the works of 20th century contemporary artists. Evident throughout his

Restaurant Seasonality Essay
Seasonality of the Restaurant Industry: Friend or Foe? The restaurant industry can be a fickle friend.
Business trends directly with the economy and is linked with a dizzying amount of other factors,
enough to make any manager go crazy. Yet at the same time the industry is lucrative and therefore
enticing. The industry has been a contributing factor in the slow recovery from economic recession
and is showing growth in sales (Stensson, 2011). Specifically, the fast food industry if projected to
grow at a slightly higher rate of 3.3% over that of the full service industry at 3.1% (Stensson, 2011).

Funding the tourist season faculty can be fickle as well. Many restaurants that rely on snow or sun for
the tourist crowd must close down in the off season while still paying the fixed costs associated with
restaurant ownership like rent and utilities (Brumback, 2000). Though tourism in the U.S. is on the
rise in 2011 and 2012 it has a direct link to weather trends and when $1 of every $3 spent in the
restaurant industry, according to the National Restaurant Association, is tourism related the reliance on
weather can be huge (Elan, 2011). Obviously restaurants have been able to weather the seasons of
food service seasonality. It is not a new topic but a continuous challenge which must be addressed,
met, and overcome. But how? Over the years owners and managers alike have tried several angles in
combating seasonal lulls and drops in business. There are five basic areas that seem to have the most
success: seasonal marketing, seasonal menus, seasonal posturing, using holidays or seasonal peaks as
targeting opportunity, and brand or business loyalty. When a corporation recognizes where the
seasonal weak points in business are during the year it can use promotions and strategic marketing to
even out inconsistencies in sales. Seasonal menus can be twofold assets due to current customer
demands as well as cheaper cost of production. Seasonal posturing refers to being prepared for high
and low seasons by managing staff size and raw

The Role Of Media Images Influence Children s Self Image
My research assignment will be on sexulization of children. I will explore the issue of the increasingly
early onset of sexualized bodies and the social expectations that go along with it. Most of my paper
will be about girls, but boys will also be discussed. I will discuss and explore how media comes into
effect and examine how media images influence children s self image. My title will likely be: Ticking
Time Bomb: The Early Onset of Sexualized Bodies. In our society we are conditioning children to be
obsessed with their appearance. We teach girls that their beauty is the most important factor of them.
How media, advertising, film, pop music, magazines does are all included under this topic, relate to
issues of overly sexual people?

In Bartlett, Myke. Sex Sells: Child Sexulization and the Media , one of my sources, makes references
a portrait of a thirteen year old girl painted nude. Does this fall under a sexulizased, pornographic
image or is it simply art? How and where do we draw the boundaries? This broad definition leads to
much controversy over whether something is truly hyper sexulization or not. Because of this many
scholars have tackled this phenomenon already. It is a commonly talked about topic, yet no solution is
in sight.
Children are facing these issues on a day to day biases. Girls go to the mall and pick out clothing with
the words flirt , juicy , even gangbanger or open magazines to read about how to get a boyfriend in 4
easy steps. Adults may see this and understand the harm but children, or even teenagers may not fully
understand. We see the playboy logo, they may see a cute bunny. How do we balance their innocence
with our sexual knowledge? Is it fair to them for us to shatter their innocence? With our rapidly
accelerating technology will the youth reach new media before their parents can explain it to them?
Pornography and adult media content also affect children and how we, as a society view people. In
The Sexualization of Childhood a book by Sharna Olfman, a teacher states that boys usually start
learning about sex from the internet starting from the 5th or 6th grade. How does this influence how
they see woman? If all the sex they watch

Light Intensity On Chloroplast By Ryan Enrico Caruso
Ryan Enrico Caruso
Title: Light intensity on chloroplast, in Spinacia oleracea, in creating high energy electrons which
reduce DCPIP identifying how luminosity effects photosynthesis..
Abstract: Chloroplast were observed to question if high energy electrons are formed and how light
intensity affects for photosynthesis. DCPIP (2,6 dichorophenol indophenol) liberates high energy
electrons, from the electron transport chain, that reduce DCPIP from blue (oxidized form) to clear
(reduced form). In addition, chloroplasts were exposed to different levels of light intensity to indicate
how intensity levels are necessary for photosynthesis. Expecting DCPIP to get reduced quicker in
chloroplast exposed to higher luminosity levels and slower or not at all with lower luminosity levels;
DCPIP is expected to stay in its oxidized state when exposed to low levels of light and is expected to
get reduced and turn clear when exposed to higher levels of light.
Introduction: Plants are able to utilize a broad spectrum of light that can be used by chlorophyll within
them to do something biologically useful. Moreover, they use the energy from light to manufacturer
the foundation molecules for the food that we eat and as well the O2 we breathe. (2) It is deeply
imperative to gain an understanding about how light is used to produce energy for themselves and for
us.
How does the intensity of light chloroplast are exposed to effect their ability to photosynthesis in
producing high energy

Using Brute Force Algorithm For The Quality Of Ultrasound...
Abstract: In general, the main problem in ultrasound images is reduction of noise and problem is more
severe when the noise is multiplicative in nature. In this paper, we present a novel method to combine
different filter using brute force algorithm to enhance the quality of ultra sound image. This method is
divided into two parts i.e. pre processing and brute force algorithm. In pre processing median filter
,fuzzy filter which will evaluate the different characteristics as noisy, homogeneous, and edge and
Savitzky golay method were applied which gives smooth image while preserving shape and height of
the Ultrasound image. Secondly, Savitzky golay filtered image and fuzzy filtered image were
decomposed into different wavelet sub bands using directional dependent mask and finding out the
better threshold value of each band by using brute force algorithm. Evaluation of the method based on
different parameters show that proposed method can improve the quality of Ultrasound image. Key
Terms: Directional dependent mask, non decimated wavelet transform, fuzzy filter, Savitzky Golay
filter.

Blue Light Research
The sky is not really blue,it is a reflection of light. Our eyes perceive it as blue. The sun is the main
power source the earth. The sun may appear yellow or white, but it is a mixture of many colors. As the
white light appears from the sun, it travels through the earth s atmosphere, and collides with particles
from the air(Physics,2015). The reason we may see a blue sky rather than a brown one during the day
is because, Blue is a shorter wavelength and is scattered more than a red light which is a longer
wavelength. The white light comes directly from the sun rather blue light is scattered from particles in
the air. The sunlight passes through the atmosphere before it reaches your eyes, most of the blue light

The blue is a short wavelength, the long wavelength are red, orange, and yellow which absorbs
stronger by the water. Plants are green because in plants there is chloroplast. Chloroplast is a
pigment, chlorophyll absorbs deep blue and red light, so the rest of the sunlight is reflected giving it its
green color. For other plants it is a pigment called anthocyanins that gives plants its color other than
green. It reflects other colors in the prism.(webexhibits,2015).
RNAI is the biological process where the RNA molecules inhibit the gene molecule. It works by
silencing a sequence of DNA, which is a cellular mechanism. In order for this to happen introduction
to the DNA templates to produce short RNAs that are then processed to siRNA. Once they are lode the
RNA is silenced, resulting to the loss of the messenger RNA, the end result you can lose a gene

Forensic Analysis Paper
Abstract The contemporary Smartphone has built in Instant Messaging (IM) applications like
Whatsapp, Line, etc, which facilitates users to send and receive chat messages, video, audio and
images via Smartphone in real time. Apart from benefits offered by Instant Messaging (IM), it also
suffers from few vulnerabilities which provide ground for attackers to launch attacks such as Man in
the middle attack (MITM). These applications leave traces and Evidences in phone. In order to
identify crimes, it is essentially required to retrieve these traces and evidences by using appropriate
forensic technique. The works carried out in this field deals with forensic analysis of Whatsapp, viber,
ChatOn etc but not with forensic analysis of Line messenger, even though number of users of Line
messenger is more than 500 million. In this work, evidence subjected to Line messenger has been
extracted from iPhone running ios 6. This paper presents evidence gathering of Line IM application
which proves beneficial for forensic analysts and practitioners as it assists them in course of mapping
and locating digital evidences of Line messenger on iPhone.

There has been growing recognition of the potential of design to transform health care drawing on a
tradition of creative and divergent thinking to address the significant challenges. These challenges are
by definition wicked problems , where there is no single true answer and where design s strength lies
in creatively responding to these complex interdependencies.
Escalating costs of healthcare services and a shortage of personnel and facilities have put pressure on
the health system to deliver more care on an outpatient basis.
While tending to health needs at home has a long history and some medical devices have been used in
the home for many years, we are now witnessing an increasing migration of other devices and
emergent technologies into the home setting.
However most medical devices are designed for health professionals in formal health care settings and
not for domestic use. Consequently there are many challenges to address the complexity demanded by
the varied users within this environment.
eHealth is the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for health (WHO).
According to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) telehealth and telecare are relatively new eHealth
services, the language used to describe them is still evolving and the terms used are interchangeable.
Telehealth (also referred to as telemedicine) covers the remote monitoring of physiological data that
can be used by health professionals for diagnosis or disease management.

Varsity Boys Soccer Team
As the school year begins and students settle into their academics, student athletes are also preparing
for their fall sports. Over the past couple of weeks, several teams have had their first games, including
TJ s Varsity Boys Soccer team. The Spartans played against Chaparral on Thursday, September 3rd,
and were victorious after a hard fight, successfully launching their season.
The boys began preparation for their season early in summer vacation, meeting up a few days out of
the week to practice and scrimmage against one another. This summer practice was optional, but it
provided a good opportunity to stay in shape and prepare for the upcoming season, which is especially
important to this year s seniors on the team. Thus, with the dedication ... Show more content on

When the final whistle blew, the atmosphere was at its peak in excitement and relief: the Spartans had
won their first game of the season, and finishing on a strong note.
We moved the ball pretty well, and we basically kept the ball in [Chaparral s] half the majority of the
game, explained teacher and coach Jon Poole, explaining the strong points of the first game. Of
course, with any first game, there are bound to be areas needing work. Senior Santino Salazar
explained that, We had a bad start, we were very slow on getting there. so that kind of affected us quite
a bit. However, Salazar added that, We finished out strong, because that s where we had the intensity.
With time and practice, the boys will be playing at the same intensity from start to finish.
Freshman starter and center midfield Jack Thibodeau agreed that there were many areas in which the
Spartans excelled during their first game. I think we played as a team and we moved the ball really
well, he said. He also expressed that he is excited to go on and win State. Confidence is an aspect easy

As the town s people describe Richard Cory, they focus on his reputation and all the ways he differs from them. This significantly contributes to his unhappiness because the problem that he faces is the combination of both his discontent with his own status and inability to fit in with the rest of society. In the people s description of Richard Cory, they mention facts about his rank, which pertain to his noble persona, but also reveals the things the town s people overlook: And admirably schooled in every grace; In fine, we thought that he was everything. They compare themselves to Richard Cory, and because of the noticeable differences in their character, they do not regard him as an equal. Instead, they consider him superior. They point this out when they explain that they think that he is everything. It is significant that they do not simply belief that Richard Cory has everything, but that he is everything. This is because it demonstrates that they regard Richard Cory s importance for not only the things he possesses, but for who he is. The people describe his as everything because in comparison to themselves they appear to have nothing. Richard Cory reminds them of all the things that they do not have but wish they did. This makes it even more difficult for Richard Cory to blend in with the rest of the town, as he wants. This has lead many people to wonder what the future might hold for those who are already struggling to get by. But it doesn t have to be this way though. With careful planning, Americans can regain some control over their lives. And the best place to start is with their food supply. Why Everyone Needs a Food Reserve Years ago, families always had a stocked up pantry. They joined together to grow the food that was in it themselves before spending many hours in the kitchen preserving the fruits of their labor. They had to. In 1974, Eddie Mabo discovered that the island they live in does not belongs to the Meriam people, so he decided to claim the land right through the Australia court system. • 7. What Is The Libertarian View Of Justice Most people strive to have a comfortable way of living, whether that be from working hard or signing up for assistance. While some libertarians are under the impression that everything should be each individual s own responsibility, they sometimes do not realize how much free assistance they have gotten throughout their lives. On the other hand, people who get assistance from the government or donors sometimes take advantage of other people instead of working hard. This position paper will focus on two philosophers that state opposing views of justice: John Rawls and Robert Nozick. While John Rawls stands behind justice as fairness, the libertarian view of justice is presented by Robert Nozick. John Rawls justice as fairness is the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would not be fair if a child from a poor family was refused education because they did not have the means to pay for it. It is only just if each child has the same opportunity to develop or expand their talents. One of Rawls most popular ideas is the veil of ignorance. In this veil of ignorance, everyone is forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when making a decision on justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in the society. If a rich person imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on justice are likely to change. If they were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their paychecks to help the poor, imagining themselves being poor would make them understand those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person imagines being extremely rich, they would not like to have restrictions on how much money they are allowed to make. Furthermore, this social contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to make it the most just. Since all of the people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they will give up what they feel is necessary to make the best bargain. It makes the rich realize that they would still want the best education for their children even if they were poor. It also makes them recognize the need for decent healthcare to all of the different classes. Adequate housing would also be wanted for everyone if people did not know what class they would be ... As we continue to lack a screening tool to diagnose CAAs, catheter directed angiography remains the gold standard both for diagnosis and treatment of CAAs. Intervening CAAs continues to remain a complicated task even in the hands of experienced operators. The greatest challenged faced in the management of CAAs is a delay in recognition largely due to the element of surprise associated with their low prevalence. Other major factors which pose a challenge during CAA interventions are the location of the coronary ostium within the aorta, the proximal course of the vessel, and angulation of the vessel. • 10. Rapid Climate Change Events During The Period Between 10ka... The last glacial period has encountered numerous large magnitude, rapid climate change events; characterising the period between 10ka and 50ka (Steig, 1999). During this period was the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), which occurred approximately 21ka, a glacial period defined by changes in greenhouse gases, sea level and ice sheets (Otto Bliesner et al., 2006). In comparison the mid Holocene occurred approximately 6000 years ago, during the current interglacial. The Holocene period is regarded as relatively muted in terms of signals of climate change, with changes primarily associated with changes in seasonal solar radiance (Otto Bliesner et al., 2006; Steig, 1999). Models have been constructed in order to replicate the past climates, with specific reference to The Community Climate System Model: Version 3 (CCSM3), aimed to define continental scale dynamics, variability and climate change (Collins et al., 2006). With the use of models the environmental variation between the LGM and mid Holocene periods can be construed. Roche et al (2007) refers to the LGM as the classic benchmark for models, enhanced by the use of proxy data associated with ocean surfaces, vegetation, oceanic circulation and atmospheric conditions. Clark et al (2009) presented the extent of the LGM, with growth of ice sheets to their maximum extent occurring between 33ka and 26.5ka; primarily in response to climate forcing from decreases in northern summer insolation, tropical Pacific sea surface ... • 11. Architecture Of The Colosseum Once the Colosseum had been built, it seems to have become the model for many, if not most, of those that followed (Hopkins and Beard 2005, 24). The Colosseum stands proudly upon the villainous Emperor Nero s once grand Valley of the Golden House, projecting the munificence of Imperial Roman Architecture. Its ultimate design could be said to be formed through purpose or function. However, this does not do justice to the importance of architecture within Roman society (Thornton and Thornton in Lyes 1999, 2). The functions, whether it be religious or otherwise, of the Colosseum were irrelevant to the ultimate design of the architecture, as the architectural features contained within the Colosseum s ultimate design created an instant archetype, a marker of Romanness across the empire (Hopkins and Beard 2005, 25). The clever use of the classical orders and façades, and adaptation of existing Roman architecture of the period allowed the Colosseum to become a model for many subsequent Roman amphitheatres, whilst showing the ingenuity of Roman architecture of the period. The architectural vocabulary of the Colosseum saw the clever use of existing Roman design practices to create a final structure which became a precedent for all Amphitheatres which followed. Thus, highlighting the overriding importance of the aesthetics the ultimate design displayed. Accordingly, associated risks influencing decision maker are outdated data, expensive data collection cost and less integration of data between various markets (Cooper Schindler 2008, p. 6). • 15. The Cunningic Character Traits Of Odysseus I think the one heroic character trait that fits Odysseus best is cunning . There are many stories from The Wanderings that shows just how cunning Odysseus is; from tricking monsters like the cyclops, to pretending to be a beggar so he could reclaim his kingdom. Some of these stories may not sound like much but without Odysseus s cunning trait things would have ended up completely different. If Odysseus didn t have his cunning trait he wouldn t have been able to trick the suitors into thinking he was a beggar, but because Odysseus is such a cunning hero he is able to have much more power than others. One great example to show just how cunning Odysseus is, is the story about the cyclops, who had planned to eat Odysseus and his shipmates. One of the ideas that Odysseus had to get rid of the cyclops was to have him drink so much wine that he wouldn t be able to focus and so he could be knocked out. Tricking the cyclops gave Odysseus and his shipmates another chance to get away from the cyclops. A piece of evidence from the cyclops story that shows Odysseus s cunning trait is a quote from the story, it says My moment was at hand, and I went forward holding an ivy bowl of my dark drink, this quote shows Odysseus s idea of giving the cyclops the wine so he would be knocked out and so Odysseus could have a better chance at killing him and getting away. Another very interesting story that showed Odysseus s cunning trait is the story of The Cattle of the Sun God. Odysseus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cultural Relativism theorizes the nature of morality and whether moral truths are correct even if they are not agreed on across all cultures. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What the university has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to accomplish them. Her clinician uses ISCD diagnostic criteria. How should the scan proceed? If her clinician used WHO diagnostic criteria, would you recommend the same scan procedure? The scan should proceed using the dual femur and the forearm. Her spine would not be the appropriate site to analyze. The dual femur and forearm should be used in this case because she has had surgery at L1 L3. The rods and screws from the surgery, would most likely generate higher T scores and Z scores, which will misdiagnose her analyzation. Moreover, her spine is not a good area to be scanned, due to her surgery. Therefore, the clinician should still use ISCD to generate a diagnosis. If the clinician used WHO I would still recommend using just the dual femur scan. WHO analyzes the femoral neck. Therefore, the forearm would not be needed for analyzation with this particular organization. 30. • 27. Currency Act Of 1764 Essay The central pillar of the British economy during its colonial period was its extensive trading power. Any threat to this power would have to be remedied sooner than later. For this exact reason the Currency Act of 1764 was birthed. In spirit the Currency Act of 1764 was intended for the betterment of British commerce. However, in actuality the Currency Act of 1764 had a negative impact on the lives of British colonial residents. To understand the reason, and perhaps necessity, for the conception of the Currency act of 1764, one must have a grasp of the economic situation in the American colonies prior to 1764. The currency used in the American colonies has always revolved around, specie or the two types of paper currency, legislatively issued legal tender or land bank notes (Finkelstein 39). Foreign specie was far more common than British specie, due to an export prohibition of British specie and an unfavorable balance of trade between the American colonies and Britain that drained whatever British specie ... PTSD is a serious mental and emotional disorder that people often don t understand or don t know about. It s defined as a mental illness that develops after a person has lived through a traumatizing event, such as sexual assault, physical abuse, threat of death, or serious injury. Most people who experience a distressing event don t develop PTSD, but for those who do, it s extremely terrifying to go through. Many U.S. veterans have to deal with serious emotional and mental trauma after their time of fighting is over. There aren t any statistics that show exactly how many people and veterans in the U.S. have PTSD, because most veterans don t know they have a mental disorder. They don t seek help; therefore statistics aren t certain. Studies have shown that at least 70% of adults have gone through a traumatic event, and 20% of those people develop PTSD. That s approximately 31.3 million people. Further investigation confirms that women are more likely to develop the illness than men are; approximately 1 out of 10 women will or have had PTSD. Combat veterans are even more likely to be diagnosed with PTSD after returning from the military, and an estimated study says that one out of every five veterans have or will develop the disorder. This piece was made in 1904 as an inspired piece of Michelangelo s damaged classical and incomplete work. The piece s present location is in the Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden outside of the Museum of Fine arts. The piece is a 3 D model of a body with no arms or a head. This made out of casted bronze which makes a very smooth composition. Rodin s achievement as a sculptor was to find a way to make the brute materiality of sculpture express the fleeting mobility of the modern individual. To achieve this, he abandoned the polished and idealized figures of academic sculpture and produced rougher, more unfinished surfaces, which better expressed restlessness, corporeality, and movement. While this often suggests psychological agitation, it also evokes the constant motion characteristic of life in modern times. Not only are these for environmental purposes, but because of depleting fuel levels caused by over consumption. One common substitute for fuel commonly ??? made of crude oil or petroleum is ethanol fuel. This fuel, also know as ethyl alcohol, is created by the fermentation and distillation of corn. There are three main advantages and disadvantages when contemplating the use of this alternative fuel. First, although not popular in North America, it is possible to run cars on fuel containing pure ethanol. This is evident with ethanol derived from the readily available sugarcane in Brazil. Manufacturing vehicles that run on one hundred percent ethanol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Primarily, ethanol containing fuels sold commercially are almost always mixed with gasoline. These gasoline ethanol blends either contain only ten percent ethanol or eighty five percent ethanol and are only compatible with cars that contain special fuel systems. So although reducing, ethanol is not eliminating the use of petroleum in transportation. Next, another factor making ethanol undesirable is its fuel efficiency and availability. Approximately one third more ethanol is necessary to travel the same distance as gasoline and fueling stations are much less prevalent. MORE SPARSE?. So, while initially the fuel cost is lower than that of pure gasoline, consumers are usually spending the same amount for fuel. The similar cost makes the hassle to find these fuel stations less justified worthwhile?? for consumers. Finally, if ethanol use and production becomes more extensive, it could affect global food and water supplies. Light Intensity On Chloroplast By Ryan Enrico Caruso Ryan Enrico Caruso Title: Light intensity on chloroplast, in Spinacia oleracea, in creating high energy electrons which reduce DCPIP identifying how luminosity effects photosynthesis.. Abstract: Chloroplast were observed to question if high energy electrons are formed and how light intensity affects for photosynthesis. DCPIP (2,6 dichorophenol indophenol) liberates high energy electrons, from the electron transport chain, that reduce DCPIP from blue (oxidized form) to clear (reduced form). In addition, chloroplasts were exposed to different levels of light intensity to indicate how intensity levels are necessary for photosynthesis. Expecting DCPIP to get reduced quicker in chloroplast exposed to higher luminosity levels and slower or not at all with lower luminosity levels; DCPIP is expected to stay in its oxidized state when exposed to low levels of light and is expected to get reduced and turn clear when exposed to higher levels of light. Introduction: Plants are able to utilize a broad spectrum of light that can be used by chlorophyll within them to do something biologically useful. Moreover, they use the energy from light to manufacturer the foundation molecules for the food that we eat and as well the O2 we breathe. Abstract: In general, the main problem in ultrasound images is reduction of noise and problem is more severe when the noise is multiplicative in nature. In this paper, we present a novel method to combine different filter using brute force algorithm to enhance the quality of ultra sound image. This method is divided into two parts i.e. pre processing and brute force algorithm. In pre processing median filter ,fuzzy filter which will evaluate the different characteristics as noisy, homogeneous, and edge and Savitzky golay method were applied which gives smooth image while preserving shape and height of the Ultrasound image. Secondly, Savitzky golay filtered image and fuzzy filtered image were decomposed into different wavelet sub bands using directional dependent mask and finding out the better threshold value of each band by using brute force algorithm.
