2.5. Statistic Analysis In order to process the data for research, the standard software from SPSS 21.0
package for Windows was provided and used. To test the data for the normality of the distribution the
Kolmogorov Smirnov criterion was used and The Kruskal Wallis H test was used to determine the
impact of the independent variable culture on the dependent variables (concept indicators and coping
strategies).
We also applied the correlation analysis (Pearson) to find correlations between the concept and the
coping strategies. To reveal the specific structures of the coping strategies in groups the factor analysis
was used (Principal Component Analysis with Varimax rotation).
2.6. Procedure Data were collected in each of the cultural groups by using a simple instrument (a
pencil and paper). Researchers provided questionnaires to the candidates; the overall testing time was
around 30 35 minutes.
Russian and Chinese students were surveyed together in the university classrooms while the Turkish
respondents were surveyed individually (in person or via e mail). In our research, the students were
provided with instructions using native language Russian, Turkish and subsequently in Chinese.
(Kholodnaya, 2012; Krukova, 2007).
This translation procedure, which involved back translation, was determined by our research
objectives and was applied to the Chinese and the Turkish testing systems.
The translation procedure for the Chinese version, for example, included the

3. Essay On Nick Carraway In The Great Gatsby
In the novel, Nick is portrayed as a careful and considerate individual. He helped get Gatsby and
Daisy together, showing he cares for both of them. Therefore, showing how considerate Nick is.
Although, in the movie, Nick is portrayed in both past and present tense. In present tense, we have a
broken Nick Carraway. He admitted himself into a sanitarium because he is morbidly alcoholic . From
that moment on, Nick opens up to his doctor about the moment he met Gatsby till present day. In
flashback scenes, Nick is happy and unconflicted. He also had a sense of innocence. In a way, Tom
corrupted him by taking him to his apartment to get drunk. Then, continuously shoving drinks into

Next, Jay Gatsby in both novel and movie, is portrayed as a rich, charismatic, popular man with a
deep infatuation with Daisy. Although, in the movie, it seemed as though Gatsby was obsessed with
Daisy. For example, constantly staring at the telephone in his house waiting for Daisy to call him. At
the beginning of the movie, it was heartfelt. Finally, two sweethearts meet again. But Gatsby takes it
up a notch or two, to the point where I felt as though he was obsessed with keeping her so intertwined
with his life whether she loved him or not. There s a scene in both the novel and the movie where
Gatsby and Tom are verbally fighting. In the novel, they settle down at the end and go their separate
ways. Although, in the movie, much of the dialogue is the same, but the ending is what surprised me.
Gatsby grabbed Tom by the collar of his shirt, held his fist up as if he were about to punch him, then
screamed shut up! in a childish manner. Thus, leading me to feel as if the novel version of Gatsby was
more of a man than the movie version of Gatsby ever could

4. The Pros And Cons Of The Bubble Act
Part III: The Bubble Act and How It Kick Started the South Sea Bubble
It would make sense, given the series of events leading to the Bubble Act of 1720, that Aislabie felt it
would help the South Sea scheme. However, the missing piece of the South Sea Bubble is Robert
Walpole. In 1720, Lady Cowper, in her diary, noted that the king needed ÂŁ600,000 to pay off the Debts
of the Civil List. She noted that because, in the winter of 1720, Walpole did not win the contract to
take on the public debt for the Bank of England, his consolation prize was to get his way on how the
ÂŁ600,000 would be paid off. At the time, the South Sea Company did not hold the contract to take on
this particular ÂŁ600,000. Walpole decided that the two marine insurance companies, ... Show more

The result was overwhelmingly positive for the South Sea Company; its stock price shot up from ÂŁ610
to ÂŁ870 in two days. None of this would have likely happened had Walpole not financed the debt
through the Bubble Act of 1720. Whatever his motives in opposition of the South Sea Company had
been, his financial dealings with the two marine insurance companies allowed the company to grow
nearly 50% in only two days. Effectively, Walpole sped up the formation of the South Sea Bubble,
inflating it even faster than it had before. The South Sea Company tried to artificially grow on its own
terms. By being forced to provide an unlimited loan, it no longer had any negotiating power, since it
had already extended unlimited credit. Walpole may not have immediately suppressed the South Sea
Company as he had hoped to do, but nevertheless, he strategically put the South Sea Company in a

5. Define Intersectionality In Sociology
Intersectionality is a word used in sociology to describe multiple threats of discrimination that can
overlap with an individual s identity. When it comes to Intersectionality in Feminism is knowing that
not all feminism are the same. Intersectionality in the racial justice social movements is focused on
our social identities. Which are being distinguished between race, gender, class, age, ability, sexuality,

sexuality, family, work, reproduction, domestic violence and rape was a problem that they faced.
Women of color emerge into being a part of the movement. Having the conflict over the issues of how

6. Manor And Feudal System Essay
The manor and feudal system during the middle ages shaped the society of Western Europe because it
both allowed protection to the serfs (peasants/ workers) from attacking tribes and barbarians as well as
gave nobility power and control of society. The manor system consisted of a large plot of land given to
a vassal by a king or a lord. A vassal was a deputy of the lord and was responsible for making sure that
the work on the manor was getting done. He got his manor from a feudal contract that was called the
fief which was a pledge to a lord or king that he would be their vassal for life. In exchange for this
promise, the vassal got protection from his enemies for life as well as an estate. On the manor there
was a manor house where the vassal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The serfs would work on large manors or on smaller villages guarded by knights and would provide
food for the rest of the hierarchy. This was a mutual respect system in which land and protection was
given down the hierarchy and goods and services such as food and tax money was given up. During
the middle ages there were many threats from barbarian tribes most notably the vikings and some of
the Germanic tribes that prompted the creation of feudal systems and the manor. While this protected
the serfs and other people who other wise would not be able to defend themselves, this also gave
power the nobility and allowed them to heavily tax the lower class. In addition to corruption, this gave
the upper class and the nobility far more control over the people of the kingdoms and could have also
caused many of the problems during the middle ages. Feudalism only really worked if the respect and
service went both ways which only worked if the nobility respected the serfs and vise versa. As a
result of this, feudal and manor systems shaped Western European society because the gave protection
to the lower class while giving more power and control to the upper

7. Current Theoretical Perspectives, Pedagogies And...
Current theoretical perspectives, pedagogies and curriculum approaches.
Teaching and learning can be seen as an integrated approach through the support and reflection of
visual arts, theoretical perspectives and cultural perspectives such as MÄori and Pasifika. These
approaches help explain different teaching practices and extension of children s interests and the
different ways to present and consider the environment the children learn and develop in.
The arts are a fundamental element of ones human condition as it provides a medium for the freedom
of self expression such as thoughts, ideas, beliefs and culture. There is a natural necessity to create as
it shares an insight into identity and culture (Wright, 2003). Through implementing arts into early

supports the links between body, cognition, spirit and culture. It also has multiple benefits to a child s
visual, spatial, aural and bodily kinaesthetic modes of learning or multimodal leaning (Wright, 2003).

8. Linguistic Bias
Bias is a discernibly human quality; like all things human in nature, there lies deep in our
consciousness values, axiology s, and prejudice. These biases , rather worldviews, create within each
person their own rose coloured lenses with which they perceive, and more importantly, influence the
world. To look at how bias can occur both blatantly and subtly in writing, three distinct forms will be
analyzed; Linguistic Biases,
Perhaps the most common bias is the linguistic bias. Simply, this is where the writer conveys
information, emotion, and perspective in a biased manner. This can be done knowingly or
unknowingly, but the negative impact to the readers doesn t change. In the case of a report by Career
Services for the University of Wisconsin Stout, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The danger here is present, misrepresenting history is an omission of truth for untruth. When Ideology
and beliefs overbear pertinent facts, it opens the door for Orwellian tactics in using biases like
unreality to shape a fictional truth. In this case, the bias was used to shape Texas students
understanding of the confederations values, rationale, and involvement with slavery and the trading
thereof to suit a set of beliefs held amongst those in power. This shows that biases are prevalent in
society and at times, very intentional.
Lastly, likely the most pronounced bias is stereotyping; whether used in comedy, rhetoric, or everyday
life, stereotyping is everywhere. The best example of this bias would be the recent 2015 Presidential
election in the USA. Growing political polarization, with prevalent misinformation, and ignorance of
the other side , creates an ideal powder keg for sweeping generalizations. A good indicator of
stereotyping in the US follows from what adjectives are used to describe each party from their
opposition, seen here in figure 1. Figure 1. (Martin,

In the movie, Justice Gray remains very quiet, only speaking when necessary compared to reading the
transcripts from the court. He asked questions of clarification but also seems to have a harsher tone
with Irving when he tries to expand his questioning on a matter that has already been debated in much
length. In the movie, it isn t until he gives his judgment that he plays a vital role, which is to be
expected for a judge making a ruling on a matter as important as this one. It was clear throughout the
trial, both in real life and during the movie that the defense was not trying to put the Holocaust on

Some believed that the trial was turning into a matter of free speech and if the Holocaust had

there was any evidence to support Mr. Irving s views (Lyall, 2000). Professor Lipstadt stated, ...I m

I am nobody (Emily Dickinson). This American poet lived much of her life in reclusive isolation;
however, her vividness style and integrity of vision made her one of America s most important poets.
She was born on December 10, 1830 and died on May 15, 1886 , in Amherst, Massachusetts. She
came from a prominent New England family, her father, Edward Dickinson, a Yale University lawyer,
was a judge in Amherst, a representative in the Chamber of Deputies of Massachusetts, a senator in

to Mount Holyoke Female Seminary in South Hadley. During her life, few times she left her home.
There were few people with whom she had contact; however they had a huge impact in her poetry.
Her only friend was the Reverend Charles Wadsworth, who she first met on a trip to Philadelphia. In
the 1860 s, Dickinson lived in almost complete isolation, but actively maintained many
correspondences and read widely. Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson are connected by the
distinguished of a uniquely American poetic voice. Emily Dickinson did not win any awards during

13. Fall Of The Mayan Empire Essay
Fall of the Maya Empire
From the late eighth through the end of the ninth century, something unknown happened to shake the
Maya civilization to its foundations. One city after another, cities starting from the southern lowlands
to the Yucatan Peninsula were abandoned, and by 900 A.D., Maya civilization in that region had
collapsed. Countless scholars have combed through the Maya ruins for clues to help drive their own
theories to what caused this massive empire to vanish. The fall of the Maya empire has been
hypothesized to three main scenarios, exhaustion of resources, feuding city states and rulers, and an
extreme period of drought which contributed to the Maya demise.
Some believe that by the ninth century the Maya had exhausted the environment around them to the
point that it could no longer sustain an exponentially growing population. Other Maya scholars argue
that constant warfare among competing city states led the complicated military, family (by marriage)
and trade alliances between them led to the breakdown, along with the traditional system of divine
power. Finally, some catastrophic environmental climate change, like an extremely long, intense
period of drought, may have wiped out the Maya civilization. By the time the Spanish explorers

The Renaissance was big part of the past era even today we still have festivals celebrating the
Renaissance. I am going to compare and contrast the difference between three different paintings and
sculptures that were a big part of the Renaissance era. The Limbourg brothers were both born in the
Netherlands, but worked in France. They featured calendars of religious feast days; these calendars are
richly embellished with finely detailed scenes of activities and tasks associated with certain months
and seasons of the year. In the first painting called May, you can see a parade of aristocratic gentleman

And I looked and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with

details his conception of the scripture in his smaller study Death on the Pale Horse, in which the Four
Horsemen of the Apocalypse Death, War, Famine and Pestilence waste the earth. Considered in his
earlier works as a Neoclassical painter, his later works began to shift in the new direction of
Romanticism. This transition of art was meant to evoke an emotion within the viewer. Recalling the

Format, Proportion and Scale: Death on the Pale White Horse, created in the year 1817 is painted
horizontally through the application of oil on canvas. The dimensions 176 inches x 301 inches. that
correspond to the scale of the figures within the painting come across disproportional and are
somewhat misleading to that of the overall height and width of the piece. However, undisturbed by
the edges of the canvas, the centralized pyramid shape : formed by the figures in conjunction to those
figures within the foreground and the background, is not only placed harmoniously but sporadically
together to begin the process of guiding the viewers eyes across the canvas.
Viewpoint:
From what can be understood by the viewer, West has created the piece with a head on perspective.
Through the use of many imaginative sharp diagonal lines, that can be drawn from either the more
centralized figures whose hand rest atop his head and back is turned toward the viewer or the figure
from the far left corner who learns at an angle and holds a spear across his body, towards the very last
beast that is placed near the far upper right corner, West is able to create space and distance. The
pyramidal construction of figures, foreshortening, and atmospheric perspective also work collectively
to draw the viewer into the painting more closely.

16. How Controlled Burns Improve Forestry Essay
Thousands upon thousands of acres are lost in forest fires every year. We always hear about the
dramatic losses caused by forest fires and are often concerned by them. There are so many horrible
effects from fires and most of them affect so many people. Studies have shown that out of all of the
different methods to decrease fire damage, prescribed burns are the most affective. Many people
would argue that they are not as affective because they cause so many health problems. Although that
is a very important view and may seem valid, those health issues are not as extreme as one might
think. People should look at the majority of the benefits form prescribed burns and they will see how
affective and important they are. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are also so many animals that go along with the damage from the fires because they are living in
the middle of it and do not have any where to go. It makes sense that actions such as controlled burns
should be done because so much could be prevented. Then again there are so many people who argue
against them because they are a disruption to the environment. Fire experts argue that prescribed burns
are vital for reducing the risk of catastrophic blazes and restoring ecosystems that evolved with fire
(Tobin 2). If a great deal of damage could be prevented, I do not see why there should be any concern.
This is especially important when you look at what more damage is done to the environment during a
huge forest fire compared to on from a petite controlled burn.
It is so horrible to see all of that timber go to waste. Our society depends on timber a lot and we need
so much of it to produce so many useful goods. What would happen if we did not have any timber to
make homes or proved some type of shelter? We would be lost and have no where to go. Prescribed
burns can prevent that great loss of timber and save a lot of trees. Although one purpose of controlled
burns is to curve paths for huge forest fires, they are also used to freshen up the area. If an area of
trees is left untreated from prescribed burns, the sands are expected to decline in growth (Mitchell 1).

17. The Causes And Impacts Of The World Trade Center
The original World Trade Center, constructed between 1975 and 1985, was a complex of seven
buildings occupying a 16 block area in Lower Manhattan. At the heart of the World Trade Center
(WTC) stood 1 WTC and 2 WTC, also known as the Twin Towers. These towers occupied nearly an
acre each and stood 110 stories high. When completed, 1 WTC was the tallest building in the world.
The Twin Towers stood as a symbol of America s power in the global economy. Because of this, the
World Trade Center was a massive target for terrorism. On February 26th, 1993, a small moving truck
was filled with 1500 pounds of explosives and detonated in the underground parking garage of the
North Tower. This attack killed 6 people, injured over a thousand and lead to structural damage in the
subsurface structure of the tower. Unfortunately, this was just a warning of what was yet to come. On
September 11th, 2001, two commercial airliners were hijacked by terrorists and flown into the North
and South Towers (1 WTC and 2 WTC). The impact from these crashes and the heat caused by the
burning of excess jet fuel after the impact caused the buildings to collapse killing over 2600 people.
Debris from the collapse damaged the remainder of the seven buildings eventually leading to them
being demolished. To recover from the physical and emotional loss in Lower Manhattan, a new World
Trade Center has been planned. The site is now home to the new 1 WTC (The Freedom Tower), 2
WTC, 3 WTC, 4 WTC, 7 WTC, National September 11 Memorial and Museum, and the World Trade
Center Transportation Hub.

THE CANADIAN MAGAZINE DISPUTE THESIS STATEMENT
The negative effect of globalization on nearby culture is exacerbated by the day. It is developing with
the exemption. It is always debilitating the thoughts, governmental issues and economy of countries.
Since culture as a term is utilized to depict practically every human attempt; it is hard to draw a
division between the true social activities deserving of exceptional defensive measure. This essay is an
exploration of the effect of globalization on nearby societies with the Canadian Magazine Dispute as a
core interest.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The Canadian Magazine Dispute is one of the unmistakable clashes with suggestions for social
concerns. It is one of the few issues inside and out that were embraced for the sake of shielding nearby
societies from globalization. The debate originates from offering of the high rate of remote magazine,

This paper will consist of an overview of the Virtual Police Department, the history of that department
and the problems that it faces today. I will analyze a few of the many issues within the department and
use all the resources available to find what benefits the department the most. The Virtual Police
Department was created 63 years ago and is a medium sized department with 155 sworn officers, as
well as 70 civilian employees. The standards for being hired in this department are minimal and
because their turnover rate for personnel is high, with a majority of them being experienced officers
from supervisory and command levels; leadership has struggled. This has caused an issue, where their
current department leaders have been around for roughly 15 years, and over 30% of its current staff
having been hired within the last 5 years. All of the seasoned officers have exited and promotions were
required, even if they were not necessarily earned and/or deserved. There is a positive out of this
however, since the department is young, implementing these strategies now, will allow the department
to work long term reform to regain the glory it has always had. I have identified four of the most
critical issues/problems facing the Virtual Police Department that I believe need to be solved. First, I
would look at the hiring process and make some much needed change within this department. Then, I
will look into the budget and see what can be changed to better support the department.

up breast exams. The exam can be done for $1,000, but because the gene involved is patented, it now
cost $3,000 (Crichton para. 2). In his article he states Couldn t somebody make a cheaper test? Sure,
but the patent holder blocks any competitor s test (Crichton para. 3). Since the gene is patented, the
owner has complete control of pricing making it impossible to make or find a cheaper test. He also
uses the example of Canavan disease. The owner of the gene connected with Canavan s disease began
to require that royalties be paid before tests could be run. Calfee on the other hand discusses the case
about breast exams and states that most patented genes are owned by universities on behalf of
researchers (Calfee para. 2). Calfee suggests that because the patents are mostly owned publically, all
testing can not be inflated and monopolized as believed. He states, The other article concluded that
prices of patented and exclusively licensed tests are not dramatically or consistently higher than those
of tests without a monopoly a very different scenario from that suggested by the Myriad lawsuit
(Calfee para.

22. Work Ethics In Care
Work ethics in a long term care facility is important because when employed, your co workers and
supervisors need to know that they can count on you to do your job well. Being dependable is a very
important work ethic because you have to be at work on the time you were scheduled and you have to
be able to keep promises and stay on task. People that are not dependable in a care facility tend to give
fewer people care and the quality of the care they are giving tends to suffer. Also when someone is not
dependable for showing up on time it takes time away from the patients and residents because
someone has to cover for the absent employee. When working in care facilities you not only work in a
building but you also do home care visits you should

23. Going To Jail
HEAD DOWN THE TOILET
What s worst, being the shortest in the grade or going to jail? How about going to jail for being the
shortest in the grade! I know what you re thinking, how can someone be locked up for being vertically
challenged? Well the truth is it wasn t your usual arrest, then court, then jail procedures, in fact there
was no police involved at all. If there were then maybe they would have seen how someone of my
status, my four foot seven pimple faced, bracer faced, glasses face status could not even attempt
anything as badass and remotely worthy of being locked up. You see in this world there are winners
and then there are losers, with my father s brainiac genetics and my mother s maniac genetics there is
no surprise that I was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Halfway through every year we are expected to go on an excursion. This year s excursion was to
Mangalo Prison. Mangalo prison was famous in our town as people believed criminals left there evil
spirits behind in there, that and the fact it was nearly a hundred years old was the only reason why it
still existed. Finding a seat on the school bus was like a hierarchy, you know, popular people at the
back, nerds at the front and then there s the loser who sits next to the bus driver. I didn t mind sitting
next to the bus driver, I suppose after seven years you get to know the guy. It was a lot easier to talk to
Steve that trip because unlike the usual chaotic yelling, everyone was listening to Jimmy Dunning s
Mangalo Prison ghost stories. As much as I disliked Jimmy and his strange desire to flush my head
down toilets, his stories were actually terrifying. The town of Mangalo was like those deserted towns
you see in movies where the only thing moving is a tumble weed. It wasn t hard to spot the jail as the
houses were the size of tents. We were escorted through the jail by a rugged looking man who looked
as though he once called the place home. Once the tour was over we were free to explore and wonder
the jail ourselves. When I was quietly examining rude graffiti on a jail cell, I felt the most concussive
feeling of my neck being jarred as I was shoved from behind into a cell wall. How I got from being
pressed up against the wall to my head stuck

24. Case Study on Nurse and Client Relationships
Care provided by a nurse is not limited to physical care. Instead, a therapeutic nurse client relationship
extends beyond physical needs ensuring that a client s psychological and emotional needs are being
met as well (National Council, 2013). In developing a relationship with a newly pregnant client, it is
essential to understand common responses to pregnancy. Newly pregnant clients are often in a state of
shock or disbelief, and any ambivalence detected by a nurse could simply be the result of the
pregnancy not yet being acknowledged as real by the client (Lowdermilk Perry, 2010). This is
especially likely of an unplanned pregnancy in which there are few signs and symptoms. In
developing a relationship with a client, a nurse must being willing to fully give of his or her self,
identifying, empathizing, and addressing specific needs, and providing truthful and unbiased answers
to questions (National Council, 2013).
In this case, a caring nurse must recognize that the client is not exhibiting eagerness for the pregnancy
and respond accordingly. Rather than displaying the enthusiasm that a nurse may show with other
clients, the nurse should maintain professionalism with the client and listen to her concerns and
address each of them (Lowdermilk Perry, 2010). Developing a trusting relationship with the client
fosters an environment in which the client feels comfortable in discussing her health related issues.
This client is experiencing tender breasts and nausea.

25. Essay about The Western Formula
A seemingly traditional approach towards the Western frontier is the reason for John Cawelti s
assessment from The Six Gun Mystique. His description of the Western formula being far easier to
define than that of the detective story ; may clearly be a paradigm for many authors, but not
particularly for Stephen Crane. The standards Cawelti has set forth for a successful Western is quite
minimal by thought, but at the same time relevant. Crane signifies a different perspective to these
standards. Crane s thoughts for the use of the Western formula are just approaches towards the west,
from the introductory setting to the coarse grin one cowboy would make towards another. These do
not in fact relate to Cawelti s Western formula. Crane s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stephen Crane shapes The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky, ; entirely around the bride and how she will
enter a new life in the small town of Yellow Sky. The only instance of a possible Western formula is as
a cowboy by the name of Scratchy Wilson points a gun at Jack Potter, the husband and town marshal.
However, when Scratchy realizes that Potter had gotten married, he put down his gun and walked
away. He moved a pace backward, and his arm, with the revolver, dropped to his side ; (Crane 311).
This contradicts the black and white situation Cawelti would expect. The fight between good and evil
had risen and it must be taken care of through violence, perhaps a draw. This did not happen though,
and that is why Crane s perspective towards a Western is quite far from the formula. Apparently, the
moral and ethical code that Crane acknowledges in his stories is his main concern. The story can
climax, and desire be sated, only if the moral applause meter reads way of the scale in the hero s favor
; (Tompkins 236). Crane describes Scratchy Wilson as a man when sober cannot hurt a fly, but while
intoxicated will hurt anything. The black and white issue turns gray by giving the villain a heart.
Throughout the entire story, the ideas of violence arise, but the actions upon them do not. This is a
very bad path Crane chose if he was looking to depict a formula western. If this story was to follow
the standards

26. Helicopter Parenting Analysis
Helicopter parenting is when a parent or guardian is overly concerned, and involved in their child s
performance in various activities and their physical well being. As discussed in lecture, this concept
largely stems from the idea that the world has become increasingly dangerous since the parents of the
millennial generation were children and in turn they over compensate by becoming involved in their
children s action and life decisions, both big and small. During this observation I noticed many
insistences of helicopter parenting, the most prominent were the parents in the stands who were
shouting very loudly the entire game. Though they allowed their child to play a contact sport many of
them spent the entire game literally on the edge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The couple used as an example in Randall s chapter did not initiate co sleeping because of their own
cultural traditions or values but because they were unable to comfortably sleep themselves. They were
concerned that they were unable to hear her breathing from their bed, I assume they were worried
about sudden infant death syndrome. Though it is common practice in many other cultures, co
sleeping is not recommended by western physicians who say there is a risk of the child suffocating
from the weight of the sleeping adult or from becoming entrapped by the bedding, or the adults
clothing. (Randall, 2012, 79) It seems that helicopter parenting steams from fear for the child s well
being which the clouds the child s

28. Liberal Party Ideology
During the 2015 Canadian federal election campaign, Justin Trudeau s Liberal Party took policy
positions that were furthest to the political left compared to the other two main parties, the
Conservative Party and the New Democratic Party (NDP). In an effort to appeal to traditional liberal
supporters as well as voters who traditionally identify with the NDP, the Liberal Party adopted a
reform liberal economic agenda and social democratic policies. Conversely, Thomas Mulcair, the
leader of the NDP, embraced a campaign platform to the right of the Liberals. In particular, the NDP s
agenda blended neo liberal economic policies with moderate conservative social policies. Stephen
Harper s Conservative Party adopted policies that were similar to the ideologies of the New Right,
which embodies neo liberal economic policies and conservative social policies. This essay will argue
that the ideological similarities between the Conservatives and the NDP changed the political
landscape in the recent election as voters were left with only two distinct political ideologies to choose
from instead of the traditional three. In supporting this position, this essay will first examine the
economic ideologies of these three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, this was evident in their position on admitting a larger number of refugees over a shorter
timeline. While the Conservatives and the NDP also wanted Canada to play a humanitarian role on the
world stage, they have a smaller view of this role than the Liberals. By positioning themselves close to
the Conservatives on this issue, the NDP caused progressive electors who wanted Canada to play a
larger humanitarian role on the world stage to vote for the Liberals. Voters seeking to admit a large
number of Syrian refugees had only one choice, while those seeking to admit a smaller number had

29. Reactor Process Parameter Monitoring Using Plc And Hmi
Reactor process parameter monitor using PLC and HMI Abstract our paper outlines the basic stage of
operation required to automate the reactor. Over the years demand for high quality, better efficiency
and automated machines has increased in this globalized world. It briefly explains the process
followed by the industry to automate an entire plant. This project basically focuses on the primary part
of monitoring the parameters namely the temperature and the pressure. As the reaction proceeds in the
reactor the temperature and pressure of the same varies. The temperature and pressure are measured
using various temperature sensors like RTD and pressure sensors like pt100 respectively. Our aim is
therefore to monitor them on HMI which is connected to PLC via a communication cable. (Keywords

control systems for operating equipment such as machinery, processes in factories, boilers and heat
treating ovens, switching on telephone networks, steering and stabilization of ships, aircraft and other
applications with minimal or reduced human intervention. Automation has been achieved by various
means including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic devicesand computers ,

30. How Did The Magna Carta Influence The Government
Over the course of history, few documents have made such an impact on the world and its way of
governing than the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta, drafted by rebellious barons and presented to
King John of England in 1215, was a document that essentially limited the power of the king. This
was a revolutionary concept at the time because the king had always had absolute power and the
citizens and barons had few rights that were protected by the government. Once the Magna Carta was
drafted, the concept of human rights became a popular one and was later instituted in many of the
world s government. The Magna Carta s history and creation was a very important step for not only
England but the world and it influenced many governments in the world, especially ... Show more

In reality, the Constitution and the Magna Carta are almost identical when it comes to the inclusion of
certain rights in these respective documents. Originally in the Magna Carta it states that the English
Church shall be free and shall have her whole rights and her liberties inviolable [safe from sudden
charge]... (D2). While this is more exclusive to the English church it still respects the institution and
allows people to worship in it. In the first Amendment of the Constitution, the freedom to practice
whatever religion a person wants to is provided and it is also prohibited to limit or prevent this
practice from anybody. Both principles share core themes and were revolutionary in their respective
countries and time periods. Another important right addressed in the Magna Carta as Provision 29 says
that no free man shall be taken, or imprisoned, or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any
way destroyed, except by the legal judgment of his peers or by the law of the land (D1). This right was
adapted into the Constitution as the 5th Amendment which mentions that no person will be deprived
of life, liberty or property without due process of law (D2). This amendment is a direct descendant of
Provision 29 and both stand out as symbols of liberty and justice when reviewing these

Fred Tomczyk has a threefold strategy approach for the company: maintain a leadership position in the
trading business, continue to grow as a premier asset gatherer and capitalize on additional
opportunities to strengthen the firm for the benefit of everyone ( Quick Links Close ). TD Ameritrade
would be identified in the brokerage industry. The biggest change that the industry went through
would have to be the introduction of negotiated commissions in the U.S. in 1975. That was the mark
to a beginning of constantly increasing competition and challenges for brokers. With the introduction
of electronic trading, it dramatically increased trading volumes and liquidity and slashed the cost of
intermediation and broadened access to the market ( The Brokerage World Is Changing, Who Will
Survive? ). The industry changed when brokers became primarily asset gatherers while the investment
responsibility migrated to professional asset managers.
Goals, Vision/Mission, Constraints Everything that TD Ameritrade works for is to serve two primary
strategic objectives: maintain a leadership position in trading and be a premier asset gatherer. On
average, TD Ameritrade clients place nearly 400,000 trades each day which is some of the largest in
the industry ( Our Story ). They are committed to ongoing innovation, client
