ASP.NET Web Forms
At this time there are a good deal of ASP.NET web forms coders out there who admit that they simply
don t have an understanding of ASP.NET MVC. In a lot of ways, I can associate with them. The
expressive fraction that talks about ASP.NET MVC speak about it with such fervour that they make it
appear like you d have to be a idiot not to change over. In reality, the selection isn t nearly as straight
forward.
ASP.NET web forms aren t going anywhere. These methods have their right place in a web developer
s toolbox and it s crucial to discover their strengths and flaws. In general, the ASP.NET MVC
framework has a tendency to give up ease of use (e.g. viewstate, validation, etc.) in order to supply
developers stronger control over the reins. This can be a terrific thing, but only if you take advantage
of it. If not it can just as easily be a issue.
With all of this, I have developed a swift metric to establish if ASP.NET MVC is right for you. The
way I see it, there are three primary purposes a developer should select the ASP.NET MVC framework
over ASP.NET web forms. If none of these factors are compelling to you, then you need to stick with
ASP.NET web forms:
To Increase Control and Extensibility
As indicated out in the commentary, ASP.NET MVC supplies you much more control and extensibility
options than ASP.NET web forms. You get entire control over the page request lifecycle and the ability
to replace out several key items of the framework (e.g. view engine, routing,

Zapzalka Farm Research Paper
The world and its great variety of places have had an impact on my life, but only one has turned me
into the person I am today. My home, Zapzalka Farms, is the foundation of my life. Who would have
thought a small farm just four miles north of the little town called Bowlus would teach a young man
so many valuable lessons about working hard and strong moral values? Looking in from the driveway,
I see the house where I grew up, the two story structure composed of 115 year old crusty yellow
concrete brick surrounded by flower beds and 50 foot cedar trees. This house has helped me through
everything, from birthday parties as a child, to writing Comp papers as a student, I do not know where
I would be without it. As I make my way down the driveway surrounded by seven foot cornfields like

When I make my way to the end of the driveway and out of the cornfields, I become enclosed by
yellow, tin sided buildings filled with cattle and machinery. Some people may consider them just
buildings to keep the cattle from running away, or to keep the machinery dry. I look at them and see
the building blocks of my life and think of all of the memories that have been created, and the stories
that can be told. As I look around the yard one building stands out the most, the shop. The shop is a
50x52 foot structure with 14 foot yellow tin side walls and two massive overhead doors in the front. In
between the doors is a filthy window with stringy white cobwebs draping from the corners, which
should probably be cleaned sometime soon. Above the window hangs an old wooden sign in which
my Grandpa had engraved Zapzalka Farms , along with a miniature green tractor painted in the corner.
When I walk in the door, I take a deep breath and smell the sweet smell of grease and oil along with
the blaring noise of dad using the hand

History Of Construction Equipment On Every Construction Sites
History of construction Equipment It is a common fact that we find a wide variety of construction
machines on every construction sites, which makes the construction site easy, safe and quicker. Some
of the construction equipment: Earth moving equipment: excavators, backhoe, loaders, bulldozers,
skid steer loaders, trenches, major graders, motor scrapers, crawler loader, wheeled loading shovels.
Construction vehicles: Dumpers, tankers, tippers, trailers. Material handling equipment: cranes,
conveyors, forklifts, hoists. Construction equipment: Tunneling and handling equipment, road rollers,

Also for projects like this being able to finish before the deadline there would be bonuses. So with all
these projects and delays and being able to receive bonuses Otis brought the idea to wanting to create

has brought great contribution to construction sites and has had great use in the creation of many
projects. This machine has great use and can be used for many things. For example this machine was
used and has developed to be used extensively in construction, road maintenance, mining, agriculture
and much more. Before the creation of this machine the graders were controlled by horses or oxen to
have the machine moving and doing the job. The first official grader was created in 1885 by Joseph D
Adams and this took place in indianapolis. This machine brought a lot of recognition and became very
well known and purchased by people known to do the job needed to be done with graders. Because of
the recognition it got and success on the job it brought Adams decided to create his own company, in
which his creation would be sold to those who needed them. Because of this successful creation by

Snow Covers
Kotlyak et al. (1997) describe the snow cover regime all over the world based on regular ground
observation data from the 1960s to the 1980s. Spatial distribution of the number of snow covered days
(N_sn, similar as SCD in this study) is found to be related with altitude, exposition of macro slope
relative to trajectories of major moisture flow, and latitude. The latitudinal gradient for N_sn is 5 to
9.5 days / degree with a mean of 8 days / degree for the Northern Hemisphere, comparable with the
value (~ 9 days / degree for areas below 3000 m) reported for CA in this study. Leeward slopes tend to
have lower N_sn compared with windward slopes, with one example showing that the mean N_sn in
western part of Pamir is 250 300 days on 3500 m, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(2014) based on AVHRR imageries. Summary statistics for snow cover extent and timing
characteristics, including SCD, SCD_ES and SCD_LS (same as SCD, SCOD and SCMD in this
study) were calculated at each 100 m elevation zone within the CARs, and within different catchment
groups. Trends of the summary statistics were analyzed using Mann Kendal test. The results show that
SCMD shifted earlier significantly in upstream catchments of Amu Dar ya and Syr Dar ya, as well as
in the elevation range between 2500 and 3200 m, which is in agreement with our previous work and
the results of this study in general. It is reported that SCOD moved earlier significantly all over CARs,
and no significant trend of SCD change can be detected in any catchment group or elevation zone,
which differs from our findings. In this study, within the boundary of CARs, significantly decreased
SCD was observed in mountainous areas of Tien Shan and Pamir, while only patches in WP and WT
experienced SCOD shifted earlier. The disagreement might come from the different temporal overage
of the two studies, or more probably the different calculation unit used when conducting trend test. As
shown in our results, the trend of change for snow cover statistics exhibits large spatial variability.
Calculating the trends of change at catchment groups and 100 m elevation zones within the political

Hydrochloric Acid Concentration
The Effect of Concentration on the Reaction Time of Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Thiosulphate
Introduction The speed if which a chemical reaction occurs is known as the reaction rate. When
chemical reactions occur they can either happen at a slow or fast rate depending on the chemicals. The
concentration of the chemicals has the largest effect on the rate of reaction. Concentration, which is
usually measured in mass volume per unit is referred to as the ratio of a substance. Sulphur is
produced when Hydrochloric acid and Sodium Thiosulphuric react to each other. In todays society, the
rate of reaction is relevant and needs to be taken into consideration because if the reaction time is too
long it may be impractical because today the world is considered ... Show more content on

Determinism And Neoplatonism
In a remote medieval village, a child is born. Unfortunately, the local priest soon claims him to be
destined to an afterlife in Purgatory; no amount of virtuous action, charity, or veneration can save the
child from his fate. While certainly a hyperbole, such an event is not a far cry from the religious
beliefs of medieval Europe. During this period, the prevailing belief of the time was a deterministic
and cynical view of human nature. Pope Innocent III describes how ...man was formed out of earth,
conceived in guilt, born to punishment... he will become fuel for eternal fires food for worms, a mass
of rottenness (De Segni 1). Under the belief of the time, humans were thought to be predestined to
their fate; this deterministic view of human potential or lack thereof was characteristic of the medieval
era. The turning point in this belief was the emergence of humanism in the 14th and 15th centuries. As
the name suggests, humanism emphasized the malleability and perfectibility of man, as well as a
rediscovery of antiquity. Determinism became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neoplatonism represented a turn away from the practical concerns of civic humanists to an
exploration of the grand ideals of truth and perfection (Chambers 397). Pico della Mirandola believed
the universe to be ordered in a hierarchy, with every being in the universe holding a compulsion to
seek perfection. These ideals, along with other ideals of Neoplatonism, were extremely prevalent
within Pico della Mirandola s work. One of Pico della Mirandola s most influential works, Oration on
the Dignity of Man, promoted many of his ideas and those of Neoplatonism; Pico s Oration is
commonly referred to as ...the Manifesto of the Renaissance [and] is widely regarded as a beautiful
declaration of the greatness of human freedom and ability (Truglia 158). Two ideas are central to the
Oration: free will and the deification of

The Lack Of Environmental Concern In Indonesia
3 The Lack of Environmental Concern under Indonesia s Investment Agreements
The presences of FDI on tourism in Indonesia, in particular, foreign hotels are not only covered under
the GATS, but also international investment agreements. The role of the latter has been increasingly
significant as Indonesia has concluded agreements, covering tourism. Specifically, Indonesia has
concluded preferential trade agreements ( PTAs ) that include investment chapters, such as AFTA and
ASEAN Japan FTA although investment has traditionally been covered by Bilateral Investment
Treaties ( BITs ). Moreover, the failure of the WTO, including GATS to achieve significant agreement
led Indonesia along with its contracting parties to initiate international ... Show more content on

The study also showed how 30 out of 49 countries (assessed by this study) have put environmental
concerns in at least one of their agreements. The following countries have a high percentage of such
concern: Canada (83 percent), New Zealand (75 percent), Japan (61 percent), the United States (34
percent) and Finland (26 percent). In contrast, Egypt and Indonesia have just one agreement with
environmental concern out of 73 and 45 agreements in the sample, respectively.
The above mentioned study then supports the fact that Indonesia did not follow the trends of
incorporating environmental concern in international investment agreements. This situation potentially
contributes to the environmental damage after the presence of FDI in tourism. The lack of
environmental concerns in Indonesia s agreements may cause difficulties for the government to
anticipate any environmental damage from FDI projects, and to impose measures if the presence of
FDI within Indonesia s territory has damaged the environment.
Some other countries have put environmental concerns in the preamble of their agreements. The US
Uruguay BIT (2005) notes that the parties desire to achieve the economic objectives in a manner
consistent with the protection of health, safety, and the environment . Meanwhile, the Switzerland
Kosovo BIT (2011) recognises the need to promote and protect foreign investment with the

Creo que esto no basta para asegurarle a un niño el estilo de vida que merece: necesita otras mil cosas

In 1963 both John Lennon and Paul McCartney had formed Northern Songs with the help of Dick
James and Brian Epstein. Ownership of Northern Songs had been divided up with 50% going to James
and his partner Charles Silver, 20% a piece to both Lennon and McCartney, and the remaining 10% of
ownership had gone to Epstein. But in order to understand what Northern Songs purpose was, you
must first understand the details leading to its creation. In 1963, the producer of the soon to be hit

The Battered Women s Movement
In the early days of the battered women s movement, feminists wanted to establish new forms of
structural organization by distancing themselves from the hierarchy of mainstream institutions.
However, one of the problems radical feminists had was the funding of their autonomous institutions.
Feminists faced the challenge of creating autonomous institutions that would engage with mainstream
institutions (Reinelt and Ferree, 73). While liberal feminists wanted to reform existing political
institutions, radical feminists were in favor of organizing alternative autonomous institutions.
Although more battered women s shelters started to form due to the support of local and state
governments, radical activists feared that these shelters would become

Redfern Riot Shouldn t Be Prosecuted
Editorial: Redfern riot shouldn t be prosecuted
THE POLICE criticism toward residents of a small inner city Sydney suburb of Waterloo must signal
the end of society and media depictions that has created an inability to deem the residents constant
claim of police harassment and violence. It is time we should accept the grim fact that many existing
attitudes towards the most disadvantaged people, Indigenous Australians, are part of this mayhem like
problem.

They, indeed, got arrested. The court prevented them from attending the funeral on February 24. It is

One must realize, whether or not the allegations are true, and so yet there is no evidence they are not,
there is no excuse that Indigenous had points of defence. A point of being neglect: Why do they have
to feel neglected in their motherland? And a point of suffering: Why should they suffer in Australia a
birthplace of their ancestors? Until these questions are precisely challenged, Australian should still

of the problem. A fact that if you asked any non indigenous Australian about the worth of Indigenous,
they will tell straight to your face: they do not have knowledge, they have no contribution to this land;
for example in an army they do not defend Australia. Some of these manipulations might be true, but,

Miss Brill Character Traits
In Miss Brill, Katherine Mansfield conveys a character, that is naĂŻve and old, named Miss Brill. When

this fiction, Mansfield produces a character that is enthusiastic and optimistic. Oh, how sweet it was to

knowing she is old, which readers would not expect. To illustrate, when one thinks about the attitudes
of the elderly, he or she tends to think of them as dull, and muted. This is not the case in Miss Brill,

Soil Analysis Case
Question 1
Low CEC demonstrates that the soil would be a sandy Chromosol
Low pH (4.6), the optimum level between 4.8 and 7.8 (CaCl2). Low because of the white clover
Mg (%) is very high. It can lead to poor drainage which results in compaction and waterlogging
limiting growth
Ca (%) is deficient and low in the soil analysis
S (%) and K (%) are marginal but in soil analysis Sulfate S and K are low, therefore is recommended
to add fertiliser to rise nutrient to optimum levels
Recommended to use lime to rise pH and calcium levels and add gypsum to drive excess Mg off
exchange sites. High Ca lime is recommended.

A Jazz Concert Report
An Evening of Jazz
On November 17th, 2016, I attended a jazz concert and had quite a time. The experience was
captivating, and gave me a warm feeling inside. There were three different bands that play in the hour
slot, and all of them sounded magnificent, but The Santé Fe Jazz Combo and Santa Fe Big Band stood
out the most. The only thing these two bands have in common is that some of the musicians play in
both bands. Otherwise, these jazz fanatics are polar opposites.
When listening to The Santé Fe Jazz Combo, you get a mellow feeling that courses through your body.
Their opener Recorda Me, which was my favorite piece, featured solos from Dr. Hamilton on Piano,
Spencer Hoefert on Guitar, Ben Salhanick on Bass, Doc B on Alto Sax, Wyatt Thomas on Trombone,
and Noah Woolard on Drum Set. The song had a moderate swing tempo that kept your feet tapping up
until the solo. First, the brass rang through their part, then the electric instruments. Next came the
bass; he was strumming so fast but he was barely audible. The pianist busting through with a tricky

Canada s Constitutional Issue Of Canada
For over fifty years, the status of Canada s constitution has been unable to fully unify, due to the fact
that Canada has been unable to address Quebec s constitutional concerns. Much of the ongoing debate
addresses if the Constitution should recognize the francophone population of Quebec as a separate
nation or a distinct society, with a separate laid out set of different characteristics and needs from the
rest of the provinces in Canada . An important question should be how Canada can best acknowledge,

Various previous attempts to reach an agreement have failed, as they have been unable to address
these issues. However, one of these agreements resulted in the implementation of a constitutional
amendment in which implemented the Canadian Bill of Rights that is commonly known as the
Canadian Charter of Rights and freedoms. Secondly, this constitutional amendment allowed Canada to
make its own constitutional changes and not Great Britain. However, these major changes were made
without the consent of Quebec. The fact that these changes were made without Quebec means that a
quarter of Canada s population did not agree with the terms. It is simply unacceptable that the
Constitutional amendments made in 1982 made an effort to recognize and accommodate Canada s
multicultural and Aboriginal populations, yet do nothing in regards to accommodating the distinctive
character of Quebec.
Quebec was left out again in the debate for the Meech Lake Accord. Rather than make serious
attempts to recognize Quebec as a distinct society, too much time was spent in attempt to forge the
nation together. Had Meech Lake been successful, it would have respected Quebec s genuine wish to
be recognized as a distinct society. Meech Lake would have been able to forge universal language
rights because both official languages would receive the same amount of respect in Quebec as it does

Marvel did an opposite approach when it came to their superhero team movie, The Avengers, where
the characters who made up the super team were given introduction movies before the release of the
film that brings them all together. However, the marketing strategies that they used who be of interest
to Harley Quinn, because their objective, to bring in audience members who were more interested in
The Avengers than the individual movies, matches ours. For Thor: The Dark World, the trailer that
Marvel released put its most recognizable characters at the front and center. Harley Quinn, can borrow
from this tactic with its own trailer. While the character of Harley Quinn is currently not the most
recognizable character with in Gotham, her story does include two of the most popular characters in
comic book history. In the trailer we will include snippets of both the Joker, who does play a major
part to the plot, and Batman, who does not, so that audience members who are fans of those characters

comic book can instead be a mini series following Harley after the events of Suicide Squad. This will

Why I Play Basketball
Why I Play Basketball
Basketball. A great game that was originated in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1891. Basketball was
created by a canadian gym coach who used peach baskets when it was raining and snowing outside.
Now the sport is played all over the world. One of the most popular sports in the world, and I hated it.
I hated this God given sport, until 4 years ago. When something great happened to me on April 17
2010 I turned my perspective on basketball. I really hated basketball from the beginning but then I
changed throughout the way.
When I was really young around 4 10 I really loved soccer because it required endurance, speed, and
it was really fun to play. And from that time I really didn t like basketball. I thought that this sport was
the epitome to the league of sports. I thought that tennis was way better at the time. And I wasn t a big
fan of tennis. But I really didn t like the sport at all. I was athletically gifted at the sport, like most
other sports. I had the fundamentals from my father, and he tried to convince me to play, but I still
refused to associate myself with basketball. I even disliked to watch basketball I would refuse to play
with my siblings. And all that I encouraged other people to play was soccer. The reason that I loved
soccer was because my first gift was a soccer ball. Since that time I was infatuated with soccer. I
played it in my backyard and in the park. I never stopped playing for anything even when it was dark

Irish Immigration To Chicago Essay
The history of Irish in Chicago follows a similar pattern to one alike the Irish in other American cities
where they settled in large numbers. Many early immigrants created a visible Irish community which
was sustained by many different key structures, this community stayed relatively together into the
early twentieth century. After that, many of the descended Irish immigrants gradually began to mold
into a more general Catholic American subgroup, though a smaller core of very ethnic Irish still
remain to this time. The early irish immigrants in Chicago had an immense effect on Social,
economic, Religious and political factors in Chicago.
In the 1830s and 1840s, the growth of Irish immigration occurred with significant numbers of Irish
coming to Chicago. Due to the Great Famine in ireland, the number of Irish coming to Chicago grew
exponentially. In the 1850 s, Irish immigrants were responsible for about one fifth of Chicagos
population. Though the number of Irish immigrants in Chicago kept on increasing and getting larger

Sports Is The Form Of Competitive Physical Activity
Sports is the form of competitive physical activity that has the objective of maintaining or improving
physical ability and psychological health on one hand and the aim of providing enjoyment on the
other. Sports forms an integral part of modern life as it boosts the economy of the country, encourages
a positive spirit in the community, provides an intellect of idea and imparts knowledge of basic life
skills. Sports coaching refer to the procedure of training, guiding, and motivating the individuals in
preparing for the concerned sport (Jones Kingston, 2013). Sports science is the area of study that deals
with the application of physiology, psychology, biochemistry, anatomy, bio kinetics and biomechanics
in the field of sports. Sport science in sports coaching has become a critical topic of discussion in
recent times against the backdrop of increasing awareness of the benefits of the same (Potrac et al.,
2013). Planning in coaching process is the holistic approach encompassing different aspects
contributing to enhancement of performance in sports by utilising the wide array of practical skills and
application of knowledge for the assistance of the individual (Nicholls Jones, 2013). The present essay
critically discusses the significance of sport science in the context of present day coaching process. It
also addresses the possible importance of planning and concepts related to planning that helps in an

A Observation Of A Holiness Church Of God

A Participant Observation of a Holiness Church of God

Introduction Macedonia Holiness Church was established in 1954 in Fairmount, North Carolina. This
dynamic church is one of many which form a congregation of churches. Specifically, there are 13
churches in this specific congregation all lead by Pastors. In turn the congregation is led by a Senior
Bishop and a Bishop board that consists of five members. North Carolina is very prominent state in
which religion is still respected and acknowledged as a positive way to live your life, this state is also
a part of the Bible Belt. The Bible Belt consists of an unofficial portion of the south eastern part of the
United States in which socialism and traditionalism plays an influencing role in the present society
and politics. Many of the states includes North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, etc...These supplementary
states are usually last when it comes to litigation of new laws due in the United States. A participant

the negative emotions associated with employee layoffs, how to conduct a proper dismissal meeting
step by step, how compensation is determined for separated employees and how the impact of a

The meeting should be clear and brief as to what the process will be during and after the termination.
Although the dismissal meeting is not a time for a lengthy discussion of how things might have been
different (Stewart, Greg L, 2011, p. 277), the employee should be allowed to speak and/or vent
regarding the situation. During the meeting, the employee should be presented with a written summary
of the meeting as well as information regarding the severance compensation, information regarding
continued health insurance, depending on the length of service and what the process will be to return
any company property, such as ID cards, laptops and keys. During the meeting, it is always a good
idea to have a third party present as a witness for the legal protection of all involved. Lastly, notify
security about the dismissal; this step protects not only the manager delivering the news but also the
company. This is especially necessary when the employee being dismissed has had a history of violent
and/or disturbing behavior. Separated Employee Compensation The compensation package for

Natural History Museum s Eternal Life In Ancient Egypt
Over the weekend, I chose to examine and analyze the Natural History Museum s exhibit Eternal Life
in Ancient Egypt . The exhibit contained many artifacts and visual representations of what and why
Egyptians performed mummification. Whilst visually entertaining and generally informative, there did
not seem to be a discussion of multiple interpretations on the significance for each object. The
speculative nature of these statements coupled with an often lacking of archaeological evidence
backing up these claims created more questions than answers. However, the exhibit did a great job
describing and informing of the science required for the analysis as well as informative background
explanations for these artifacts. With clear and concise details ... Show more content on

With a mummified boy on display, the exhibit explains that the embalmers preserved the body by
shrouding it in a sheet of linen instead of elaborate layers of fabric strips meaning that this is a

chest reflect mummification practices from about 2,000 years ago (Smithsonian). Accompanied by
images showing the process of unraveling the boy mummy, this section of the exhibit successfully
explains social hierarchy in Egypt and the mummification procedure in an informative manner. The
exhibit also informs how advances in radiographic imaging allow for scientists to analyze mummies
without damaging their fragile remains or wrappings (Smithsonian). Again, images of the radiographs
and processes of attaining them accompany this statement which contains valuable information since
it is always important to know how the museum and scientists preserve the artifacts whilst gaining

Freeway 280 Analysis
Family and heritage are very important aspects to human life. To begin, this is what is addressed in the
poems, Freeway 280, by Lorna Dee Cervantes and Simon Ortiz s, Hunger in New York City. Both
poems share a great amount of similarities like the way they address the importance of family and
heritage and the message of both poems. They address the importance of family and heritage by using
objects or feelings, metaphorically, to express their family or heritage. Not only that, but both poems
share the message that a person s past stays with them no matter where or how far they go. Ultimately,
both poems address the importance of family and heritage the same way and also share the same
message.

To start, Lorna Dee Cervantes talks about her family and heritage using a freeway as the main idea.
She talks about how a freeway now covers a spot where little houses used to exist near the gray
cannery (Cervantes, 1). Here under this freeway, the author remembers her childhood that now has
been covered, but she remembers that when she used to live in this area, she wanted to leave. She
wanted to find a place that was different from where she lived, but a part of her wants to relive her
childhood. The author states, Maybe it s here en los camps extraños de esta ciudad where I ll find it,
that part of me mown under like a corpse or a loose seed (Cervantes, 20 25). The author wants to
remember all the good times she had during her childhood home. She remembers how important her
family was to her. On the other hand, Hunger in New York City, uses hunger as a way to show the
importance of family and heritage. Simon Ortiz talks that hunger can come from anywhere or from
anything. In this case, he uses hunger in place of his parents. After moving to New York City, the

Analyzing Carper s A Good Death
A Good Death by Carolyn Adams talks about being present while assessing a patient. Carolyn Adams
sits on the side of the patient s bed to talk to them so they feel like she is not in a rush to get out of the
room. Sometimes peoples standing posture shows that they are in a hurry to get somewhere else. In
this story is it expressed that palliative care nurses are not miracle workers, they are there to allow the
palliative patients to have a good death (SOURCE, PICARD, 2000). The purpose of this assignment is
to effectively reflect on a nurse s story, identify the themes that are present and to integrate Carper s
(1978) ways of knowing into the story. Throughout the nurse s story there are multiple storied themes

The nurse has to do research in order to know which method would be the best for each patient, and to
learn all the new strategies to keep the patients comfortable. The nurse s knowledge is also up to date
on all the kinds of new equipment such as mattresses that help prevent the patient from getting
bedsores. The nurse is aware that the only physical pain that is hard to treat and control is neuropathic,
this is determined through research. The nurse has gained knowledge through their own person
understanding and empath which is part of Carper s (1978) ways of knowing through their experience
of when their own grandfather was a patient before they were in palliative care. They had an
experience that they would never want a family to go through when their loved one is dying. Through
this experience it made the nurse want to go into palliative care so they could use their new knowledge
to try their best to make a family with a dying loved one witness a good death . The nurse uses
knowledge and attitudes built by an ethical framework. The nurse listens to what the patients want
allowing them to be in control of their life, respecting their life, and doing what is right for the patient
s well being. The nurse knows what the patient wants in order to die a good death even if it means
stopping treatment so that there is no more pain but possibly a shorter life span. The nurse shows
knowledge through the awareness of the immediate situation and the awareness of the patient and their
awareness of their circumstances as a unique individual. The nurse takes their time with each patient
in order to understand them. The nurse has learned that during bath time is when the patient usually
seems to speak the most and that is when the nurse learns the most about the patient. (SOURCE)

The Red Guard Group Analysis
What do Girl Scout troops and the Chinese Red Guard groups have in common? At first glance, there
may not be any clear similarities. Girl Scouts are known for selling cookies and helping the elderly;
the Red Guard consisted of Communist teenagers who want to do away with outdated Chinese culture
and traditions. However, if one disregards the surface levels details, there are fundamental similarities
between the two groups: both were popular youth organizations that had a sense of influence in the
community (by selling Samoas or writing dazibaos) and that offered a sense of community and
belonging for the teenagers involved. These two aspects are catnip to teenagers; hey can make young

that just because the youth were swept up in the Cultural Revolution, does not mean they understood

overwhelming ignorance of the matter at hand when she wrote, In fact, we [the Red Guard] did not

The Economic Model Growth Of Energy
Energy is one of the main drivers of economic and social development. Years ago, the only uncertainty
was the price of oil. Now the concern is if the current economic model growth is reasonable in a world
with limited energy resources. This has lead to more research in other forms of resources of energy.
Now we have other unconventional resources such as wind, solar, geothermal, water, and so on.
Energy demand is set to double by 2050 (Beckman, 2013). Therefore, greenhouse gases could double
by 2050 as well. Hence, renewable energy is vital. However seen as fossil fuel is still the dominate
source of energy, it makes it the current economic model growth rate somewhat unreasonable.
Acceleration rate in policy, technological innovation, and consumer expectations are making the
energy market increasingly complex. We would need innovation, incentives, investments and stronger
technical standards to reduce the world s energy intensity. When the industrial revolution began, the
amount of carbon in Britain in form of coal was as much as the carbon in Saudi Arabia in from of oil.
This coal improved the economy of Great Britain in 19th and thereafter. Just as coal production had its
peak and declined thereafter, is the same way the oil production would. About 55 of the 65 oil
producing countries have already peaked in production. Many of the other countries left are expected
to follow in the near future. Modern cities are fossil fuel dependent; even roads are made from
bitumen.

The Effect of Contextual Factors on the Design of...
Introduction
This paper determines the effects contextual factors have on the design of Management Control
Systems. The paper firstly discusses what is meant by Management Control Systems and what is
expected of Management Control Systems . Contingency based research is outlined and five key
contextual variables are identified for discussion. The five factors (external environment, technology,
structure and size, strategy and national culture) are assessed to determine their impact on design and
implementation of management control systems.
Management Control Systems and Contingency Based Research
Management Control Systems are systems that are put into place within organisations to help ensure
that managers within organisation s act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tight or rigid control systems may be detrimental to performance if the technology requires fast
responses or new innovative solutions. In contrast a control system that is loose and open to encourage
innovation and communication may work against the organisation if the use of technology requires
standard responses and is used in a rigid fashion. The way that technology is used must be considered
when regarding the management control system within the organisation.
External Environment
This is the environment in which the organisation operates. This external environment is unable to be
controlled by the organisation and is influenced by a number of factors. Levels of uncertainty, market
competitiveness, political and legislative factors as well as economic factors are all considered within
this factor. Findings such as the more uncertain the external environment the more open and externally
focused the MCS (Chenhall 2003) and the more hostile and turbulent the external environment the
greater the reliance in formal controls and emphasis on traditional budgets (Chenhall 2003) show that
management control systems are tailored to the environmental context. Chenhall s idea is that
uncertainty pushes organisations towards tighter control systems with a strong focus on budgets and
meeting targets, but with some flexibility so that figures can be manipulated (2003). In markets where
the environment is less uncertain, there is a

photosynthesis, which is an important part of the food web. Diatoms also help organisms by providing
food throughout the harsh winter months ( Great Lakes Water Life Photo Gallery Algae Division
Chrysophyta Diatoms ). Humans have a negative impact on the Great Lakes despite the amount of
solutions that can preserve it. The lakes have a very high level of pollution. People have dumped raw
sewage into these lakes, and there is a lot of industrial waste from factories by the lakes. Global
Warming has a huge impact on the lakes. It is increasing their air and water temperature. The warming
is causing the water from the lakes to evaporate into the air, which is lowering lake levels and
worsening water quality. Invasive species, that humans bring in, have an impact on the food chain and
the native animals that live in the lakes. New invasive species are spotted about every twenty eight
weeks. The invaders are brought in by ocean going ships and transportation. Nearby sulfide mining
industries also have a very negative impact. The sulfide is poisoning the water. The sulfide is causing
animal s habitats to be destroyed and it is polluting the waters of the lakes ( Great

Analysis Of Issac Asimov s I Robot
Robots are a more important part of society now then they have ever been. Issac Asimov lived in a
time where robots were merely an idea, but that didn t stop him from using this idea of a robot to
represent different aspects of humanity throughout the chapters of his book I, Robot. Asimov s book
reflects on human nature and what it means to be human. Reflecting can help people to better
understand themselves and the people that surround them. One part of human nature that Asimov
brings up is the idea that even lies with good intentions can cause harm. In I, Robot, one of the robots
has the ability to read minds, but the first Law of Robotics does not allow robots to harm human in
any way, including hurt feelings. Do you suppose that if I asked a question, it wouldn t give exactly
that answer that one wants to hear? Wouldn t any other answer hurt us, and wouldn t Herbie know
that? (Asimov 108). This robot was doing everything it could not to hurt any of the humans and it did
this by lying to them. This is something that many people can relate to, whether it is lying to someone
by telling them they threw a good party or that it couldn t be attended because of a fake appointment,
telling the truth wouldn t benefit anyone. By recognizing that lying is a part of human nature, it can be
understood why someone might choose to lie. The relationships made throughout life would only
benefit from empathizing with another s thought process. Asimov adds to the idea of

Cranial Nerves The human body is a unique and fascinating entity. There is not much notice taken of

The second cranial nerve is optic nerve. Optic nerves main function is vision, one of the important
senses of the human body. Allowing oneself to see around them. The cell bodies of the optic nerve are
located in the Retina (ganglion cells). Optic nerve begins with unmyelinated axons of the rentinal
ganglion cells, which later become myelinated in the optic disc. CN II enters the cranium via the optic
canal. The retina has bipolar cells that are connected to the special sensory fibers (rods and cone cells).
When light hits the rod and cone cells, electrical impulse are relayed and transmitted to the bipolar
cells. That is when the bipolar cells transmit electrical activity to the CNS through the optic nerve.
Loosing the sense of vision can be very detrimental. Some of the dysfunctions that occur with CN II
are immediate monocular blindness (partial or complete), visual field deficits, blurring, scotomata, and
monocular diplopia. There can be many possible causes for these dysfunctions to name a few,
immediate loss of vision is due to injury to optic nerve due to ischemia or death, delayed vision loss is
due to infarction of the optic nerve or less frequently by hematoma surrounding the nerve. Complete
monocular blindness is usually due to non organic disorders. Blurring and scotomata are due to trauma

Social Injustice In To Kill A Mockingbird
Justice has long been considered something that is important to the success of a society. However
justice in itself is something that is hard to achieve. Recently in the news, a story has arisen regarding
a father who was not able to afford a lawyer, due to this he was not able to see his kids for five years.
This is what some people would call political injustice, a case in which someone s given rights have
been ignored. This is very common despite people saying that justice should be given to all people.
Social injustice is a case in which people are affected by less government and law related issues,
including, environmental rights, civil rights, and an access to education. This can be also seen clearly
in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Through the society that Harper Lee portrays in her novel
she suggests that justice is something worth fighting for. Examples of both social and polĂtical
injustice becomes apparent.
Social injustice is a common theme throughout the novel. This can appear in cases of stereotypes.
Many people in the town of Maycomb have families that are over generalized. Such as the
Cunninghams, who never took anything they can t pay back. (Lee 26). However some of these
stereotypes are very inaccurate. For instance, Walter Cunningham went to dinner with the Finches,
this was something that he could not pay back, but he did it anyway. Or when Scout was able to help
snap Mr.Cunningham back to reality when he was trying to intimidate Atticus.

Characteristics Of A Root Cause Analysis
A root cause analysis is a mechanism used to determine if procedures prompt sentinel occasions. A
sentinel occasion is characterized by Cherry and Jacob as a startling event that can cause genuine
physical or psychologic damage or the danger thereof. (Cherry and Jacob, 2011, p. 444) The goal of a
root cause analysis is to distinguish the components which brought on the sentinel occasion and to
recognize imperfections in the framework which can be adjusted with a specific end goal to keep a
rehash of the occasion later on. A root cause analysis is not used to accuse people, and is not relevant
when the occasion is deliberate, or brought on by carelessness or a criminal demonstration. Root cause
analysis concentrates on disappointments in the framework that can be remedied (Huber and Ogirnc,
2014). Before starting the RCA, a multidisciplinary group is chosen to survey the occasions included
in the sentinel occasion. This group is regularly made out of four to six individuals. These individuals
would incorporate agents from Risk and Quality departments. Despite the fact that including Nurse J.
what s more, Dr. T. on the group will give direct information of the occasions, they could expect that
the RCA is being led to place fault on them. Each individual from the group must comprehend and
concur this is not the motivation behind the RCA. The viability of the group will be decreased in the
event that this point is not unmistakably caught on. The four parts which should

Children Should Not Adopt Children Essay
Society views adoption as a wonderful, beautiful thing that could be a positive effect for the adopted
child, but cannot see the negative effects it has on the family as a whole or the biological children.
From the perspectives of the parents adopting, the biological children, and of the adopted child,
adoption is much more complicated than it initially seems. Families that already have biological
children should not adopt children.
Growing from a family of four to a family of seven has had the biggest affect on my life, both positive
and negative. My parents brought my three adopted siblings permanently into the family when I was
four, but they were practically living with us since I was born. Living with a family of seven in a little,
run down, brown rustic colored, and memory filled mobile home in a community of similar but
uniquely individual trailers lined up next to each other having their own story to tell holds a very
impacting memory of my life. People may think that adopting children into a family who already have
biological children is a great option, but in the process do not consider their own child s happiness in
the near future or the problems and struggles caused by a non blood related sibling forced into their
life. There was one time I got so mad at Alexis because we were fighting, for something I can t even
remember now, that I pushed her head into the wall and broke her glasses. That was one of the many
arguments and fights we have had.

Reflection Of Experience Reflection Paper
Reflection of Experience
Day 1
In order to test the psychological and physiological benefits of utilizing yoga as a stress management
technique, I decided to start doing hatha yoga on a daily basis. Hatha yoga is an alternative style of
yoga than emphasizes physical exercise and mental health, with the goal of balancing both aspects in
your life. In a study by Luu and Hall (2017) they found that both hatha yoga and mindfulness in
conjunction saw significantly improved results on both mood and executive functioning (Luu Hall,
2017). I then downloaded Yoga Guru an app that includes hatha style yoga onto my smartphone,
which provides videos and acts as a personal trainer to get started. I spent 20 minutes on day 1
following along to the asanas (poses) and breathing directions in the training videos. Ordinarily, I
struggle with my thoughts wandering to the stressors that inflict pain on my life, which further
promotes rumination and negative affect. I tried to actively focus on the asanas and breathing
technique encouraged in the app, however, because I am starting yoga on my own I have no basis to
know if I am doing the technique correctly. The videos were easy to follow and great for a beginner,
however, some of the asanas do require more flexibility than I expected to be required. Additionally, I
struggled with maintaining the asanas for the total duration of time. Consequently, by the end of this
first session I did feel a slight positive increase in my mood. I felt more relaxed, and in control of my
body movements. 20 minutes was enough time for my body to also feel some of the positive effects of
yoga that Pascoe et al. (2017) found while reviewing empirical articles, such as decreased heart rate
and blood pressure.
Day 5 After a few days of consistently working on my Yoga Guru routine for 20 minutes, I felt an
overwhelming increase in energy on day 5. My body has adjusted to the routine of the exercises, and
the lower back pain that I would occasionally experience has dulled and doesn t bother me quite as
much as it did before I began these exercises. Additionally, I m finding that my posture is also
improving slowly from the constant stretching and bending of various asanas. During this session I

Many of these also contain a high level of protein, which athletes need to perform well. Protein is

occur instantaneously upon consumption of any critic acid containing food/beverage. Dental erosion is

  • 2. ASP.NET Web Forms At this time there are a good deal of ASP.NET web forms coders out there who admit that they simply don t have an understanding of ASP.NET MVC. In a lot of ways, I can associate with them. The expressive fraction that talks about ASP.NET MVC speak about it with such fervour that they make it appear like you d have to be a idiot not to change over. In reality, the selection isn t nearly as straight forward. ASP.NET web forms aren t going anywhere. These methods have their right place in a web developer s toolbox and it s crucial to discover their strengths and flaws. In general, the ASP.NET MVC framework has a tendency to give up ease of use (e.g. viewstate, validation, etc.) in order to supply developers stronger control over the reins. This can be a terrific thing, but only if you take advantage of it. If not it can just as easily be a issue. With all of this, I have developed a swift metric to establish if ASP.NET MVC is right for you. The way I see it, there are three primary purposes a developer should select the ASP.NET MVC framework over ASP.NET web forms. If none of these factors are compelling to you, then you need to stick with ASP.NET web forms: To Increase Control and Extensibility As indicated out in the commentary, ASP.NET MVC supplies you much more control and extensibility options than ASP.NET web forms. You get entire control over the page request lifecycle and the ability to replace out several key items of the framework (e.g. view engine, routing, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Zapzalka Farm Research Paper The world and its great variety of places have had an impact on my life, but only one has turned me into the person I am today. My home, Zapzalka Farms, is the foundation of my life. Who would have thought a small farm just four miles north of the little town called Bowlus would teach a young man so many valuable lessons about working hard and strong moral values? Looking in from the driveway, I see the house where I grew up, the two story structure composed of 115 year old crusty yellow concrete brick surrounded by flower beds and 50 foot cedar trees. This house has helped me through everything, from birthday parties as a child, to writing Comp papers as a student, I do not know where I would be without it. When I make my way to the end of the driveway and out of the cornfields, I become enclosed by yellow, tin sided buildings filled with cattle and machinery. Some people may consider them just buildings to keep the cattle from running away, or to keep the machinery dry. I look at them and see the building blocks of my life and think of all of the memories that have been created, and the stories that can be told. As I look around the yard one building stands out the most, the shop. The shop is a 50x52 foot structure with 14 foot yellow tin side walls and two massive overhead doors in the front. In between the doors is a filthy window with stringy white cobwebs draping from the corners, which should probably be cleaned sometime soon. Above the window hangs an old wooden sign in which my Grandpa had engraved Zapzalka Farms , along with a miniature green tractor painted in the corner. • 5. Snow Covers Kotlyak et al. (1997) describe the snow cover regime all over the world based on regular ground observation data from the 1960s to the 1980s. Spatial distribution of the number of snow covered days (N_sn, similar as SCD in this study) is found to be related with altitude, exposition of macro slope relative to trajectories of major moisture flow, and latitude. The latitudinal gradient for N_sn is 5 to 9.5 days / degree with a mean of 8 days / degree for the Northern Hemisphere, comparable with the value (~ 9 days / degree for areas below 3000 m) reported for CA in this study. Summary statistics for snow cover extent and timing characteristics, including SCD, SCD_ES and SCD_LS (same as SCD, SCOD and SCMD in this study) were calculated at each 100 m elevation zone within the CARs, and within different catchment groups. Trends of the summary statistics were analyzed using Mann Kendal test. The results show that SCMD shifted earlier significantly in upstream catchments of Amu Dar ya and Syr Dar ya, as well as in the elevation range between 2500 and 3200 m, which is in agreement with our previous work and the results of this study in general. It is reported that SCOD moved earlier significantly all over CARs, and no significant trend of SCD change can be detected in any catchment group or elevation zone, which differs from our findings. In this study, within the boundary of CARs, significantly decreased SCD was observed in mountainous areas of Tien Shan and Pamir, while only patches in WP and WT experienced SCOD shifted earlier. The disagreement might come from the different temporal overage of the two studies, or more probably the different calculation unit used when conducting trend test. As shown in our results, the trend of change for snow cover statistics exhibits large spatial variability. Hydrochloric Acid Concentration The Effect of Concentration on the Reaction Time of Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Thiosulphate Introduction The speed if which a chemical reaction occurs is known as the reaction rate. When chemical reactions occur they can either happen at a slow or fast rate depending on the chemicals. The concentration of the chemicals has the largest effect on the rate of reaction. Concentration, which is usually measured in mass volume per unit is referred to as the ratio of a substance. Sulphur is produced when Hydrochloric acid and Sodium Thiosulphuric react to each other. • 7. Determinism And Neoplatonism In a remote medieval village, a child is born. Unfortunately, the local priest soon claims him to be destined to an afterlife in Purgatory; no amount of virtuous action, charity, or veneration can save the child from his fate. While certainly a hyperbole, such an event is not a far cry from the religious beliefs of medieval Europe. During this period, the prevailing belief of the time was a deterministic and cynical view of human nature. Pope Innocent III describes how ...man was formed out of earth, conceived in guilt, born to punishment... he will become fuel for eternal fires food for worms, a mass of rottenness (De Segni 1). Under the belief of the time, humans were thought to be predestined to their fate; this deterministic view of human potential or lack thereof was characteristic of the medieval era. The turning point in this belief was the emergence of humanism in the 14th and 15th centuries. As the name suggests, humanism emphasized the malleability and perfectibility of man, as well as a rediscovery of antiquity. Determinism became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These ideals, along with other ideals of Neoplatonism, were extremely prevalent within Pico della Mirandola s work. The Lack Of Environmental Concern In Indonesia 3 The Lack of Environmental Concern under Indonesia s Investment Agreements The presences of FDI on tourism in Indonesia, in particular, foreign hotels are not only covered under the GATS, but also international investment agreements. The role of the latter has been increasingly significant as Indonesia has concluded agreements, covering tourism. Specifically, Indonesia has concluded preferential trade agreements ( PTAs ) that include investment chapters, such as AFTA and ASEAN Japan FTA although investment has traditionally been covered by Bilateral Investment Treaties ( BITs ). Moreover, the failure of the WTO, including GATS to achieve significant agreement led Indonesia along with its contracting parties to initiate international ... In contrast, Egypt and Indonesia have just one agreement with environmental concern out of 73 and 45 agreements in the sample, respectively. The above mentioned study then supports the fact that Indonesia did not follow the trends of incorporating environmental concern in international investment agreements. This situation potentially contributes to the environmental damage after the presence of FDI in tourism. The lack of environmental concerns in Indonesia s agreements may cause difficulties for the government to anticipate any environmental damage from FDI projects, and to impose measures if the presence of FDI within Indonesia s territory has damaged the environment. Some other countries have put environmental concerns in the preamble of their agreements. It is simply unacceptable that the Constitutional amendments made in 1982 made an effort to recognize and accommodate Canada s multicultural and Aboriginal populations, yet do nothing in regards to accommodating the distinctive character of Quebec. Quebec was left out again in the debate for the Meech Lake Accord. Rather than make serious attempts to recognize Quebec as a distinct society, too much time was spent in attempt to forge the nation together. Had Meech Lake been successful, it would have respected Quebec s genuine wish to be recognized as a distinct society. Basketball was created by a canadian gym coach who used peach baskets when it was raining and snowing outside. Now the sport is played all over the world. One of the most popular sports in the world, and I hated it. I hated this God given sport, until 4 years ago. When something great happened to me on April 17 2010 I turned my perspective on basketball. I really hated basketball from the beginning but then I changed throughout the way. When I was really young around 4 10 I really loved soccer because it required endurance, speed, and it was really fun to play. And from that time I really didn t like basketball. I thought that this sport was the epitome to the league of sports. I thought that tennis was way better at the time. And I wasn t a big fan of tennis. But I really didn t like the sport at all. I was athletically gifted at the sport, like most other sports. I had the fundamentals from my father, and he tried to convince me to play, but I still refused to associate myself with basketball. I even disliked to watch basketball I would refuse to play with my siblings. And all that I encouraged other people to play was soccer. Now the concern is if the current economic model growth is reasonable in a world with limited energy resources. This has lead to more research in other forms of resources of energy. Now we have other unconventional resources such as wind, solar, geothermal, water, and so on. Energy demand is set to double by 2050 (Beckman, 2013). Therefore, greenhouse gases could double by 2050 as well. Hence, renewable energy is vital. External Environment This is the environment in which the organisation operates. This external environment is unable to be controlled by the organisation and is influenced by a number of factors. Asimov s book reflects on human nature and what it means to be human. Reflecting can help people to better understand themselves and the people that surround them. One part of human nature that Asimov brings up is the idea that even lies with good intentions can cause harm. In I, Robot, one of the robots has the ability to read minds, but the first Law of Robotics does not allow robots to harm human in any way, including hurt feelings. Do you suppose that if I asked a question, it wouldn t give exactly that answer that one wants to hear? Wouldn t any other answer hurt us, and wouldn t Herbie know that? (Asimov 108). This robot was doing everything it could not to hurt any of the humans and it did this by lying to them. • 41. Social Injustice In To Kill A Mockingbird Justice has long been considered something that is important to the success of a society. However justice in itself is something that is hard to achieve. Recently in the news, a story has arisen regarding a father who was not able to afford a lawyer, due to this he was not able to see his kids for five years. This is what some people would call political injustice, a case in which someone s given rights have been ignored. This is very common despite people saying that justice should be given to all people. Social injustice is a case in which people are affected by less government and law related issues, including, environmental rights, civil rights, and an access to education. This can be also seen clearly in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Through the society that Harper Lee portrays in her novel she suggests that justice is something worth fighting for. Examples of both social and polĂtical injustice becomes apparent. Social injustice is a common theme throughout the novel. This can appear in cases of stereotypes. Many people in the town of Maycomb have families that are over generalized. Such as the Cunninghams, who never took anything they can t pay back. (Lee 26). However some of these stereotypes are very inaccurate. For instance, Walter Cunningham went to dinner with the Finches, this was something that he could not pay back, but he did it anyway. Or when Scout was able to help snap Mr.Cunningham back to reality when he was trying to intimidate Atticus. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Characteristics Of A Root Cause Analysis A root cause analysis is a mechanism used to determine if procedures prompt sentinel occasions. A sentinel occasion is characterized by Cherry and Jacob as a startling event that can cause genuine physical or psychologic damage or the danger thereof. (Cherry and Jacob, 2011, p. 444) The goal of a root cause analysis is to distinguish the components which brought on the sentinel occasion and to recognize imperfections in the framework which can be adjusted with a specific end goal to keep a rehash of the occasion later on. A root cause analysis is not used to accuse people, and is not relevant when the occasion is deliberate, or brought on by carelessness or a criminal demonstration. Root cause analysis concentrates on disappointments in the framework that can be remedied (Huber and Ogirnc, 2014). Before starting the RCA, a multidisciplinary group is chosen to survey the occasions included in the sentinel occasion. This group is regularly made out of four to six individuals. • 43. Children Should Not Adopt Children Essay Society views adoption as a wonderful, beautiful thing that could be a positive effect for the adopted child, but cannot see the negative effects it has on the family as a whole or the biological children. From the perspectives of the parents adopting, the biological children, and of the adopted child, adoption is much more complicated than it initially seems. Families that already have biological children should not adopt children. Growing from a family of four to a family of seven has had the biggest affect on my life, both positive and negative. My parents brought my three adopted siblings permanently into the family when I was four, but they were practically living with us since I was born. Living with a family of seven in a little, run down, brown rustic colored, and memory filled mobile home in a community of similar but uniquely individual trailers lined up next to each other having their own story to tell holds a very impacting memory of my life. People may think that adopting children into a family who already have biological children is a great option, but in the process do not consider their own child s happiness in the near future or the problems and struggles caused by a non blood related sibling forced into their life. There was one time I got so mad at Alexis because we were fighting, for something I can t even remember now, that I pushed her head into the wall and broke her glasses. That was one of the many arguments and fights we have had. • 44. Reflection Of Experience Reflection Paper Reflection of Experience Day 1 In order to test the psychological and physiological benefits of utilizing yoga as a stress management technique, I decided to start doing hatha yoga on a daily basis. Hatha yoga is an alternative style of yoga than emphasizes physical exercise and mental health, with the goal of balancing both aspects in your life. In a study by Luu and Hall (2017) they found that both hatha yoga and mindfulness in conjunction saw significantly improved results on both mood and executive functioning (Luu Hall, 2017). I then downloaded Yoga Guru an app that includes hatha style yoga onto my smartphone, which provides videos and acts as a personal trainer to get started. I spent 20 minutes on day 1 following along to the asanas (poses) and breathing directions in the training videos. Ordinarily, I struggle with my thoughts wandering to the stressors that inflict pain on my life, which further promotes rumination and negative affect. I tried to actively focus on the asanas and breathing technique encouraged in the app, however, because I am starting yoga on my own I have no basis to know if I am doing the technique correctly. The videos were easy to follow and great for a beginner, however, some of the asanas do require more flexibility than I expected to be required. Additionally, I struggled with maintaining the asanas for the total duration of time. Consequently, by the end of this first session I did feel a slight positive increase in my mood. I felt more relaxed, and in control of my body movements. 20 minutes was enough time for my body to also feel some of the positive effects of yoga that Pascoe et al. (2017) found while reviewing empirical articles, such as decreased heart rate and blood pressure. Day 5 After a few days of consistently working on my Yoga Guru routine for 20 minutes, I felt an overwhelming increase in energy on day 5. My body has adjusted to the routine of the exercises, and the lower back pain that I would occasionally experience has dulled and doesn t bother me quite as much as it did before I began these exercises. Additionally, I m finding that my posture is also improving slowly from the constant stretching and bending of various asanas. During this session I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
